haven't gotten an simmosa ask in so long help (or asks in general but i do tend to go ia quite a bit so idk) anyway thank youu i'm glad you do and as for hcs i have so many honestly thank god i wrote some of them down places and wrote the rest into fics (read those if you haven't already for a more coherent answer than what's about to follow, my apologies)

anyway amy and jonah have this shorthand between themselves that's come from years of working next to each other (you can see hints of it in the show when they glance at each other in episodes like blizzard when dina mentions cannibalism as a last resort and stuff like that) and they have this ease with which they behave to one another

also i absolutely love that they never tire of spending time with each other like these two work together and then date and then live together but you never see them get sick of each other like say when jonah and garrett ended up getting when they were roommates and it hits harder when you remember that amy was reluctant to have adam work the seasonal job because she didn't think spending more time with him would end well vs with jonah they got used to each other's annoying tendencies and really knew each other by the time they got together

um what else? amy's sapphic but never got a chance to properly explore her sexuality so she's reluctant to actually refer herself to as sapphic bc she doesn't think she has had enough experiences for it to count (i need to finish that fic someday) and jonah's bi but hasn't dated men for a while and i have this hc of a scene where they talk about mateo calling them straight and joke that it's cause mateo doesn't care enough to pay attention to long enough and their recent dating history does support the straight allegations (i'm sorry to the superstore writers but a huge missed opportunity on their part when they didn't make most of those characters lgbt)

The Delta Flyer boys finished Voyager, and announced they were going to watch DS9 with Armin Shimerman and Terry Farrell. I cannot wait until Terry gets to 'Tears of the Profit' and I hope she doesn't hold back on what a disastrous mistake it was to fridge Jadzia Dax, and calls people out for how she was treated through all of this.

As much as I rant about how angry I am that they try to force Garak (played by a man in his 50s) to be straight by pairing him with a teenage girl (or not letting Jadzia and Kira and Quark and Bashir in particular to be as queer as we all know they are), the single worst mistake I think DS9 ever made was fridging Jadzia. It was a horrible thing to do to Terry Farrell, and a horrible thing to do to their own show.

"STAR TREK VOYAGER" Retrospective: (5.12) "Bride of Chaotica!"

One of the aspects of "STAR TREK VOYAGER" that I have truly enjoyed over the other TREK shows were the holo programs featured or the episodes centered in the two Holodecks. One such holo program was "The Adventures of Captain Proton" stories created by Voyager’s Chief Pilot, Tom Paris. Captain Proton was featured in at least four episodes – three in Season Five and one in Season Seven. But without a doubt, my favorite happened to be the third Proton story titled, (5.12) "Bride of Chaotica!".

In short, "Bride of Chaotica!" began when Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeil) and Harry Kim (Garrett Wang) are enjoying the latest chapter of his Captain Proton program in one of the Holodecks. They are forced to leave it running when spatial distortions trap the ship and disrupt their control over the computer. Voyager’s command staff attempted to discover a way to free the ship from the spatial distortions. Unfortunately, extra-dimensional aliens that exist in a photonic state cross over from their own dimension through a distortion located in the holodeck. They are detected and attacked by Proton’s archenemy, Dr. Chaotica (Martin Rayner), who believes them to be from the Fifth Dimension, and whose holographic (photonic) weaponry - though harmless to humans - is deadly to the aliens. Eventually, the crew discover the war being waged between Chaotica and the Fifth Dimension and must defeat him by playing out their roles as the fictional Captain Proton (played by Tom Paris), his sidekick Buster Kincaid (Harry Kim), and Arachnia, Queen of the Spider People. Paris convinced Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) to take on the latter role.

I might as well be frank. I LOVE "Bride of Chaotica!". I adore it. It is one of my favorite TREK episodes of all time. What am I saying? It is my favoriteTREK episode of all time. Screenwriters Bryan Fuller (creator of "DEAD LIKE ME" and "PUSHING DAISIES") and Michael Taylor created a first-rate episode filled with imagination, action and humor. Having the characters of Tom Paris’ Captain Proton holoprogram get drawn into a galactic war with an actual group of actual aliens that are photonic was a stroke of genius. And Fuller and Taylor, along with director Allan Kroeker, did an excellent job combining an original story with great characterization.

The cast was excellent, as always. Robbie McNeill and Garrett Wang revived their old magic as Tom and Harry – the two crewmembers who got more out of the Captain Proton holoprogram than anyone. Come to think of it, McNeill also managed to generate strong chemistry with Tim Russ (Lieutenant-Commander Tuvok) and Kate Mulgrew. The latter was superb as Queen Arachnia, although I think she may have been a little guilty of too much mugging, while expressing Janeway’s disregard for the Proton holoprogram. However, I loved her scene with Neelix (Ethan Phillips) that showcased Janeway’s caffine addiction. With that scene, she may have truly earned the nickname - Queen of the Delta Quadrant:

JANEWAY: "Coffee, black." NEELIX: "I'm sorry, Captain. We've lost another two replicators –" JANEWAY: "Listen to me very carefully because I'm only going to say this once. Coffee – black." NEELIX: (To replicator)"Coffee, black. While I've got your attention there are –" JANEWAY: (Holds up hand)"Coffee first."(drinks/inhales)"...Now, what's the problem?"

And then there is Dr. Chaotica, portrayed with great relish by Martin Rayner. The promise he had shown as a rich and over-the-top character in the Season Five premiere, (5.01) "Night" was fulfilled in this episode. The late Nicholas Worth ably supported both Mulgrew and Rayner as Chaotica’s ruthless, obsequious henchman, Lonzak.

As much as I love "Bride of Chaotica!", there is one aspect about it that disturbed me – namely the crew’s reaction to the Captain Proton hologram. It is quite apparent that they view it as nothing more than a childish piece of fiction for those of the immature mind. And it is quite apparent that they also view Tom Paris’ participation in it as childish. And they are not the only ones. I have read some reviews of the episodes. While most tend to sneer at it, along with anything else labeled "STAR TREK VOYAGER", at least two of them did not. Julia Houston seemed to view the holo program not only as Tom Paris’ personal fantasy, but also as an example of his imagination. Like me, she seemed annoyed by the inability of others to appreciate Paris' imagination . . . and his right to his own fantasy. Now Jim Wright did seem to enjoy the holo program and appreciate its uniqueness. But it also seemed that he viewed it as a sign of Paris’ immaturity . . . and as something that the Chief Pilot would have to give up in order to develop as an adult and ideal Starfleet officer.

Quite frankly, I agree with Julia Houston. I was very annoyed by the other Voyager crewmen’s snobbish reaction to Captain Proton. Okay, perhaps they did not care for it very much. But was there really any need for them to openly sneer at what he considered recreation and fantasy? What law was there that Tom’s pursuit of recreation had to be culturally high-brow or meaningful? Janeway, of all people, had no business to sneer. This is a woman who had spent two seasons indulging in her Lambada One holo program – a "Jane Eyre"/"Rebecca" Gothic romance. I must also admit that I was a little put-off by Jim Wright's assumption that Tom needed to give up the Proton program in order to become more mature as an adult. To me, this attitude seemed like a clear lack of appreciation for Tom’s vivid imagination. Perhaps it was more important to him and other "VOYAGER” fans that Tom become the stand-up Starfleet officer that Owen Paris and Janeway wanted him to be. Happily, Tom never stuck to his declaration of giving up the Proton program. He and Harry were still using it in the early Season Six episode called (6.05) "Alice". And a late Season Seven episode called (7.23) "Homestead" revealed that Tom had created another B-movie style program called "Invaders from the Ninth Dimension".

Personally, I like the idea that Tom Paris would eventually become that successful holonovelist sometime in his future. But in the VOYAGER relaunch novels, he became a permanent Starfleet officer, achieving the rank of Lieutenant-Commander and Voyager’s new first officer. Ugh. What a waste of a vivid imagination that created the likes of the Proton holoprograms. In real life, I would compare Tom to the likes of George Lucas, Gene Roddenberry, J. Michael Stracynski and the two writers who had created this wonderfully imaginative episode – Fuller and Taylor. A girl can imagine - can't she?

background story ;

stellan was born in sweden’s capital, stockholm, to a single mother named anya berg. his father, a portuguese man named paolo alto, was in and out of the picture when he was younger. stellan somewhat had contact with him at first, but eventually, he stopped visiting, stopped writing, and stellan never bothered to keep in touch with him, as he lived on the other side of the world in the states

his upbringing wasn’t the best, but his mother cared about him, and a lot. when he was younger, he was a very hyperactive child. he talked a lot, he misbehaved a lot, and he never knew when to stop. his mother, while she adored him, did little to nothing to help his behavior

in fact, every few months or so, stellan met a new guy his mother was seeing, and was forced to call him ‘dad’, which only worsened his hyperactive behavior, and caused him to act out in school

it was always someone rich, someone who could pay their apartment off and buy him nice things until his mother grew sick of them and moved onto the next. it was a continuous cycle, and unfortunately, stellan didn’t know anything besides that. to him, having a new partner who paid your bills every few months was normal. after all, it was something his mother often did

still, stellan didn’t resent his mother despite her behavior. even with her flighty ways, she always at least tried to be a good mom, and eventually, he began taking advantage of the situation, often times milking his mother’s new lovers for things he wanted, since he knew it wouldn’t be long before he was taking advantage of some other idiot

soon enough, his mother met a man who was bound to show up in his nightmares sooner rather than later. this man’s name was david. at first, david appeared to be a nice, loving man, but soon enough, stellan realized he wasn’t who he appeared to be

! tw the next two bullets contain abuse, and brief mentions of molestation, proceed with caution ! one day, when his mother is out and about, and he thinks david is sound asleep in her room, stellan sneaks inside and begins to look through his wallet, prepared to steal his money and blame it on him being reckless. little does he expect for david to wake up while he’s in the middle of doing this, and little does he expect for him to be black out drunk. he was caught red handed, and before he can even try to think of some shitty excuse, david begins to hit him, and scream at him while calling him many names, such as brat, spoiled, robber, etc

and honestly, stellan doesn’t really know what to do. he’s ten at the time, so he kind of just takes it because for one, david is a lot bigger and obviously stronger than he is. eventually, david lets him go, and he struggles back into his room, breaking down into tears. not even a full ten minutes pass by and david is walking inside, apologizing over and over again, and telling him how much he loves him and his mother, to which stellan just cries. even when david is telling him how special he is, even when david is leaning in for a hug. but a hug turns into a kiss, and a kiss turns into a touch, and stellan isn’t sure what happened or what to even call what happened, but he knows deep down in his heart that he didn’t like it. it made him feel unsafe, and uncomfortable and scared, but he’s being told over and over again that no one would ever believe him if he ever says anything, so despite desperately wanting to tell his mother what happened when she got home, he doesn’t, and tells her that his wounds are a result of a fight he picked at school

the next two months are hell on earth for him. it takes two months of seeing his aggressor, two months of sharing a roof with him, and two months for his mother to get sick of david and move onto the next. still, what happened between them that night is forever engraved into his brain, giving him repetitive nightmares

from then on out, unfortunately, things only seem to worsen for him. his mother is diagnosed with breast cancer and passes away after a few months, and, the only person stellan can think to call is his father, even though he hasn’t spoken to him in years

thankfully for him, his father is more than willing to care for him, but that meant leaving a life he’s always known and moving to a place, and a continent, he’s never even considered visiting before. stellan permanently moves in with his father in point place, wisconsin when he’s almost eleven years old

that once talkative, energetic and bubbly kid he was is replaced by someone cold, calculating, and unwelcoming. his demeanor and personality completely change after the things he’s been through, resulting in him turning into someone he told himself he would never be

his father, while he isn’t a terrible guy, doesn’t share the same views that he does, which results in them constantly fighting, up to the point where his teenage years feel like a nightmare

stellan doesn’t talk much at school. in fact, he often ignores people and was even once asked ‘do you speak’, to which he just ignored the question and walked past said person. while he isn’t a bully, he found himself picking fights with people who tested his patience, turning into someone mean and even aggressive when messed around with. the amount of times he’s come home with bruised and bloody knuckles after picking a fight was truly unbelievable, but in his eyes, why were people in his way?

even with all of this, stellan isn’t stupid. he graduates high school easily, but decides against going to college, and with money he saved up from working at the fotohut and secretly selling weed, stellan manages to finance a small apartment to move away from his father, a place he can somewhat call home

headcanons ;

stellan is a very creative individual. he loves to draw and paint and finds this to be a relaxing past time. he is what you would call the ‘quiet artsy stoner guy’

he doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life. part of him wants to finish a small career and become an interior designer to make more money, but the other part of him is depressed and unmotivated

surprisingly, he’s good at distributing money. he isn’t rich, but he’s never lacking in anything because he’s smart financially, tricks he’s picked up from a few of his mother’s previous rich boyfriends

stellan can be very mean, but when you really get to know him, which is rare, he’s like a different person. stellan isn’t someone that you want as your enemy, because if he really doesn’t like you, he can genuinely make your days a living hell

he has undiagnosed ptsd and bipolar disorder, with more manic episodes than anything. he will be up for days with little to no sleep, manic as hell, and think nothing is wrong with him. during these manic episodes, he can get very creative and paint and paint and paint, but he can also become very destructive, and restless in a bad way

despite really needing help, and to probably be put on medication, stellan doesn’t believe in therapy, something his mother and father have engraved into his brain. as they have both stated, ‘we don’t do therapy, that’s for the weak’

besides painting, and working, stellan likes going to the gym. he isn’t one of those gym junkies, but he feels like exercise keeps his mind occupied, and he’s a big fan of not thinking, because his thoughts can get rather dark

honestly hate this but he has… a pet snake. a scarlet kingsnake to be exact. the snake is only sixteen inches long, nonvenomous and absolutely harmless, but anyone who doesn’t like snakes is iffy. his snake is named snake bell, a funny take on taco bell. really describes his personality spot on, but he loves this snake

he smokes a lot of weed, up to the point where it makes him idiotic, but he doesn’t really do anything else besides that. realistically speaking, he isn’t opposed to experimenting, but most of the time, he’s too busy to partake in such things

he has never told anyone about what happened with david, not only because he finds it difficult to talk about, but because he thinks it will make him appear as weak, and he thinks this will make people feel sorry for him, which is the last thing he wants

stellan has a rocky relationship with his father. they rarely agree on anything and any time they see each other, they just fight. his father can be a real hard ass. he only spoke swedish and english when he first moved in with him, but his father forced him to learn portuguese, which is his native tongue. stellan speaks very good portuguese, but isn’t a fan of the language

he has a very big tendency to push people away. he would rather be alone and he makes this very clear, as he can be somewhat hostile and cold upon talking to him

stellan constantly has bruised and bloody knuckles covered in rings. he doesn’t pick fights like he used to in his teenage years, but he’s always up for a throw down. he can genuinely throw a very good punch. call it the gym or whatever, but he could cause some serious damage if he really wants to

he is a closeted bi with a strong male preference. he has only just come to terms with this, and he represses it because of his upbringing. stellan honestly assumes it’s just a phase and that it will pass, and he partially blames it on the trauma he’s experienced with david, thinking that somewhat shaped his idea of men, but in reality no... you’re just kind of gay and that’s fine stellan, come on

maybe it’s because of his experience with david, or the ugly things he’s been through, but he’s very big on the idea of hurting someone before they can hurt him. he would never let anyone hurt him the way david has in the past, which is why he would rather strike first. you can’t hurt him if his walls are so high, right?

stellan has been dying his hair since before he was even a pre teen. he is a natural light blonde ( i’m talking draco malfoy blonde ), but he hates being blonde. in fact, very few people, or literally no one at all, is even aware of the fact that he’s blonde. to everyone, he is a natural brunette, people don’t know any better

despite not showing it, one day, he wants to find love. the idea scares the shit out of him, but he secretly wants it

stellan’s uncle is the one and only axel berg. he’s one of the few people stellan feels like he can count on, and maybe somewhat open up to

wanted connections ; 

it feels like we only go backwards: stellan already doesn’t have the best judgment, but neither does this muse, and they’re basically just toxic for each other. it’s like when they get together, it’s just dark, yet there’s a certain attraction they can’t seem to avoid. this can be completely platonic, or it could turn romantic, i’m down for whatever!

you used to call me on my house phone: someone he was somewhat close to in high school, but they drifted apart and now it’s kind of awkward. they could have had a falling out, or they could have just stopped talking to each other. either way, they don’t call each other’s house phones anymore

take a picture, it’ll last longer: someone who always comes to the fotohut. whether it’s to see him, or simply because they take a lot of photos, is entirely up to the mun, but stellan may or may not be sick of seeing this muse

don’t let me get me: a muse who can sense that he’s been through a lot of trauma and tries to fix him, or maybe be there for him and let him know that they have a friend and that they’re not alone. stellan probably pushes this muse away a lot

stoner circle at the fotohut: someone who smokes with him and the iconic leo at the fotohut on the job. they just laugh at stupid things and roast other people’s idiotic photos together

i know you’re secret: hear me out... someone who knows he’s a natural blonde. how they know can be plotted, but stellan hates the fact that this muse knows. literally tells them repeatedly not to say anything, as if being naturally blonde is a crime

you’re my favorite muse: his muse! i feel this would have to go a bit off chemistry, but maybe someone he draws or someone who inspires him to be creative. this could turn out romantic, or could stay completely platonic as well!

laundry mat buddies stick together: someone who is always doing their laundry at the laundry mat whenever he is, up to the point where they’ve become cool with each other while they wait for their clothes to wash. maybe they smoke at the parking lot and listen to queen in stellan’s car

let’s be friends so we can makeout: friends who sometimes kiss each other or whatever, probably open to females only because i feel he has no experience with men whatsoever, despite knowing deep down that he prefers them

Week 6 - Action Shots

This week the assigned work was to capture the pictures for the club and edit them accordingly with the help of Photoshop software. On Saturday, As the club played a match, we were fortunate to capture some of their best moves. With the information that was discussed in class, we were successful in capturing the right pictures.

During the whole process of photography and editing, we learned the idea of photographing people, and photography techniques which include shutter speed which impacts the quality of the image. More deep concepts on camera angles, a right focus on the object to crisp and well-defined images. While editing photos in Photoshop has helped us to learn about the concepts like balanced exposure, colour saturation, and white balance adjustment as well. All these editing techniques help us to create clear images without affecting the quality of pictures.

Role of photographs in increasing the business of sports club is not a new concept in this field. The first sports photographers include Neudin, E. Hahn, Albert Meyer in Germany, Laking, Beken, McNeil, and Jean and Georges in Delton, etc (Alvin, 2000). Sports photographs have become more graphically effective, capturing the emotion and speed of the moment, in vivid colors (IOC 1896). Photography in sports club always increases the followers Engagement, helps in branding of the club, increases the online presence and also image streaming.

Images can tell a story or emotion within sport especially. Action shots can capture the most joyous of victories and the despair of defeat which can engage the fan and enhance the experience. Malamed (2016) states that when using images, you need to work out the message it sends and if it is appealing. Otherwise there is little to no benefit. For example, fans can engage with images of sport on Instagram frequently as it is an important part of the interaction between players, clubs and fans.

想抽空谈一谈最近在看和看过的东西。

Superstore，我目前已经看到S04，这是很多年前我就关注到的一个系列，那时候还是个大学生，对这种题材没有产生很大的兴趣，只看了第一集。谁能想到如今此剧成为了我睡前助眠的工具。只能说，NBC播的东西我都是逃不掉地会喜欢上，最终必须放弃抵抗。Superstore前四个Season对我来说最震撼是龙卷风那一集，能在情景喜剧中呈现这样一个情节，我真的感到佩服。我最喜欢的角色是Dina Fox和Garrett McNeil。30Rock，我心目中的神作，虽然早就看完甚至看了2-3遍，但现在还会时不时会打开当作「屏保」在那播放——比如家里太安静的时候——它反而不适合下饭。我对厨房中岛的执念也多少和想一边准备晚饭一边看30Rock有关。30Rock是近几年我最喜欢的作品，也是研究最深入的。研究得越多，Tina Fey在我心中的地位就越无法替代，据统计，30Rock每分钟有7.44个笑话，暂未听说有什么喜剧能超越这一纪录，Friends也只有6.06/min。加上30Rock完全是采用胶片拍摄的——对我来说就和「赏心悦目」画上了等号。Community我目前看到S01，我一般只在吃饭的时候看，这是一个看起来令人放松，毫无负担的作品，Ken Jeong在该作中的表演无懈可击，甚至可以说扮演了一个「关键角色」——在大学里教西班牙语的暴躁亚裔——光这样看就已喜剧元素过量。Mythic Quest，S01 看到尾声了。Apple TV+是不主流平台，但我很反对部分自以为是的youtuber将其评价为「没人在乎，没人看，不知道上面都播什么的玩意儿」。其实Apple TV+带来了很多优秀的剧作，还有无可指摘的音视频体验。Mythic Quest是我没怎么见过的题材，风格类似我至今还没看完的The Afterparty。Charlotte Nicdao扮演的Poppy Li真的太可爱了，我甚至觉得她歪歪的嘴很迷人。Danny Pudi扮演的Brad多少还是有他在Community中Abed的那种古灵精怪，而我也发自内心希望自己生活中能存在一个Jo一样的人物——adorably broken。Mythic Quest的S01E10算是致敬了Morden Family的S06E16吧，最后那句「fuck you，coronavirus」也说出了大家的心声。

Netflix今年新发行的厨艺真人秀Pressure Cooker我已经看完，我一开始就比较喜欢Michael Eckles这种专注而专业的家伙。至于结局，一个厨艺秀到最后决赛反而不看厨艺，让人多少有些不满，不想说太多，我猜这也是目前该作在IMDb上评分偏低的一大原因，还有很多人在Mike的Instagram留言区为他抱不平。总之，Jeana Pecha真是个bitch，积极的一面是这种真人秀总是需要一个这样的人物来增加drama。Carolin和Sergei的关系实在让人摸不着头脑，也没有什么节目效果上的增益。最近还看了一个真人秀Dubai Bling，其实整个都挺无聊的，drama特别多倒是毋庸置疑。差点漏掉Acapulco，总觉得S02不如S01精彩，观看进度很慢，甚至已经不对剧情走向有何期待了，像这样第一季很精彩，第二季就没那么有意思的剧很多。不过，Camila Perez扮演的Julia太美了，她给我的感觉就像当初刚开始看The Office时Pam时那样，视线无法离开。The Big Bang Theory中间有几季我没看，但这也不妨碍最近直接把最终季给看完了，结局是理想的、巧妙的、感人的。Sheldon最后的获奖感言诠释了该作最终的核心是友谊与包容，就像Friends一样是对友谊的伟大赞歌。The Big Bang Theory这个系列很有教育意义，不过我还是觉得不是那么适合用来学英语。最近还有在看Inside Job的Part 2，它的大胆和疯狂甚至能赢Rick and Morty，P02E02把Keanu Reeves搞成那样，编剧得有多疯才能设计出这样的剧本？Trevor Noah：I Wish You Would很精彩，值绝对不容错过，Naomi Osaka，大坂直美的纪录片也拍得不错，比那些「伪纪录片」好看得多。接下来看Live to Lead，看Slow Horses S02，看Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunner，继续看Veep S02，Parks and Recreation S02还有Serverance。
