SO my COTL AU is called Gods Calamity and it’s mostly centered around the worldbuilding in game rather than, say, narilamb’s dynamic though it is a big part of the AU since the Lamb and Narinder are chained together — lots of symbolism and parallels going on between them honestly :)

Shamura, for instance, plays a very very important role to my Lamb (Aluhe) and is a key factor to why the Lamb is so bloodthirsty towards the Bishops when they’re gifted the crown.

They actually got their blindfold after running away from the Goat’s family — they took them in and they started feeling guilty over bringing them danger/trouble and decided it wasn’t worth risking them getting hurt so they ran away!! Terrible choice considering they got their eyes snatched by a heretic when they tried to fight back

Just woke up from a nap and your tgcf reversed au was in my dreams--there was a subplot of Qi Rong tricking Lang Qianqiu into taking and wearing little golden treasures (a ring here, an earring there, a hair ornament, just little things.) XL warned LQQ off the gifts but Qianqiu was like "it's fine, I got this" but the gifts were cursed on sort of Brocade Immortal style so Lang Qianqiu wound up having his will filed down bit by bit and replaced with Qi Rong's. Xie Lian just kinda sat back waiting for Qi Rong to dig his own grave by messing with one of the Calamities and waited for his former pupil to figure out what was going on so he could enjoy the drama. I feel it is important you know your work is so powerful it has slipped into my subconscious and haunts me in my sleep (like ghost Xie Lian! :D)

A Talk of Scars

Warnings: angst, scars, mentions of death, blood, canon typical violence

There were many things that went unspoken amongst the chain, and for the most part, scars were one of them. The specific details of your and Wild's past were also one of these unspoken topics.

You assisted Wild in his journey to defeat the calamity and that journey left you both with more scars than you could count, both emotionally and physically.

Wild had chosen to share some moments of vulnerability with the chain, as he felt like he knew these men already, the soul of the hero binding the Links together. You on the other hand were not so quick to divulge your secrets to the chain.

You did not become close friends with the chain until after the whole debacle of them misunderstanding your relationship with Wild. They had been too afraid to get close to you, lest they make Wild jealous. However, after the air had been cleared, and you had clarified that you and Wild you in fact not in a romantic relationship, many members of the chain started to open up to you.

That being said, some things are better left unspoken.

There was one particular scar that littered your body that you tried your best to cover and never mentioned it or the events that gifted your skin the twisted ruby mark. This behavior was not for your own sake, but rather the sake of the hero who mourned letting his best friend sustain such an injury, for the hero who continued to mourn his failures.

However, sometimes secrets become uncovered and there is nothing you can do to stop the flow of emotions that follow such a poignant reveal.

You had been injured, a Moblin had slashed a fairly deep wound into your side. The boys circled around you after the battle, as they managed to not sustain any injuries themselves, they moved to help their fallen companion.

Wild knelt down beside you, ordering that you remove your tunic so that Hyrule could treat the wound. You hesitated, knowing what would be revealed if you followed your best friend's command.

After a moment of pause, you finally decided to lift up your shirt revealing both the Moblin slash and the massive burn mark that covered your entire stomach. You could feel Wild's eyes linger on the scar, deep in thought, clearly remembering what had caused the wound.

Both you and Wild were on the last leg of your journey. The only thing that needed to be done now was to enter Hyrule Castle and defeat the calamity once and for all. That sentiment was clearly easier said than done. Hyrule Castle was utterly infested with monsters and guardians alike, that was no secret, but your duo was definitely not as prepared as you should have been.

You tried your best to keep your guard up, you really did, but the exhaustion from fighting had more than cemented itself into both of your muscles. Wild seemed even more distracted than you. He was hellbent on moving forward no matter what, and had little regard for his own safety, or yours for that matter. This behavior worried you, and so you had taken it upon yourself to monitor the blond man's movements. After all, the kingdom of Hyrule really couldn't afford the hero failing for a second time.

It happened so quick. You were quick to notice the red beam of light that centered itself on the hero's back, you knew there was no time to call out and warn him. Instead, you did what you thought was best for both Wild and the people of the kingdom, putting your own body in between the hero and the cruel blast of the guardian. White pain seared through your body as you pushed Wild to the side with all the force you could muster.

Your body collapsed, ears ringing, and vision splotchy. Your brain was foggy but you were still conscious enough to register the fact that Wild was parrying the oncoming beams of the guardian. When the beeping had finally ceased and the mechanical beast lay unmoving, Wild ran to your side.

His hands lifted you up, trying his best to reposition your body so that he could administer first aid as soon as possible as a growing puddle of blood formed beneath you. As Wild moved to hand you a healing elixir, you raised your hand up to push it away. Confused and panicked Wild attempted the same thing and once again you refused his assistance.

"Stop being so stubborn or you are going to end up dying! Let me heal you please," he voiced quickly and full of fright.

"No, you need the all elixirs you can get for when you face the calamity, I don't want to be the reason the hero of Hyrule was one potion too short and couldn't vanquish the scourge of Hyrule," you stated simply despite the pain that engulfed your body.

"Absolutely not, I am not leaving you here to die," Wild commanded as his hand moved to open the cork of the elixir.

You looked up at your best friend before sternly voicing, "I will happily die here by myself if it means that the entire kingdom is safe. You know how bad the monster attacks have been recently, Zelda needs you now."

The argument continued to go on for several minutes before Wild finally conceded to leaving you to bleed out. The only thing that convinced him to move forward on his quest was you stating that he was only prolonging your pain, and if he left now and not a second later, then there was a chance that once he defeated the calamity, there wouldn't be a dead body, your dead body, laying on the side of the castle.

You lay there by yourself bleeding out, praying to all that is holy that Wild would be able to save Hyrule and that your sacrifice wouldn't be in vain. You tried your best to hold on to consciousness but you were fighting a losing battle.

Wild flung himself at the Calamity with such force and anger that he even worried himself. But he had a mission to complete, he had to get back to you, and he couldn't let another one of his friends die because of his failure.

As soon as Zelda returned to the surface of Hyrule and put an end to Ganon, Link took off running towards the Castle. Zelda worriedly followed him trying to figure out what was going on. It was when they arrived before you that a great sense of dread could be felt in the air.

Wild collapsed next to you sobbing and checking for a pulse that was no longer there. It was then that Zelda walked up behind the hero and dropped to your side as well. In a last-ditch effort, Zelda reached out and engulfed your body in glowing warm light. It was then that your heart restarted.

"Stop staring at it, I am fine now aren't I?" You said dismissively as Wild eyed the mark the guardian left on your skin. The wound on your side had just been healed by Hyrule and you were about to put your tunic back on.

"You died, that should have never happened," his harsh words rang out. Each member of the chain snaps their head in your direction. Sure they had heard that the champion had died and got back up to fight once more, but you? They had never heard that story, at least not until now.

They would ask questions later, but for now, they would respectfully ignore the new piece of information they learned about their dear historian.

Clearly you and Wild had a lot you needed to talk about if the tension in the air was anything to go by. Time ordered that the others leave the two of you alone for now, and you were once again left with your best friend by your side, begging you to see the fault in your sacrifice. He didn't care that Hyrule might have fallen, he only cared that you fell, that your heart had stopped beating, that you had left him to fend for himself without you, he only cared about you.

Bound by Fate-

Sonic in this au is born as a werehog, but really has no idea why. He just rolls with it, but this does limit his friendship potential. As such he's kind of a loner, not that he acts like it. He's rather outgoing, and can talk to anyone really. Definitely leans on the sassy side, particularly with people he's comfortable with. Though he finds it hard to trust people due to bad experiences when in his werehog form. A lot of people don't take kindly to him at night so he tries to stay away from people as best he can while transformed, and he doesn't like to stick in one place for too long. At some point he meets Tails and the two mutually help each other out (Tails saving him from a group of hunters that were trying to kill him and Sonic helping Tails gain a better reputation in the town he lives in). The two are close even if Sonic isn't always around. Eventually Sonic and Knuckles run into each other, Knuckles trying to take out Sonic due to a misunderstanding. Though the two end up bound together through prophecy shenanigans and have to save the world as a team.

Sonic's abilities are pretty standard fair. Sonic during the day has the super speed and all the stuff to come with it. Though he is a bit physically stronger since some of his werehog strength tends to leak over. At night it's mostly standard werehog stuff with the exception of the stretchy arms. He can however sense nearby dark gaia monsters and gaia temples, and him and Knuckle's bond let them know were each other are at all times.

Old Man Sonic-

It's the Sonic we all know and love! ... Except he's long overdue for retirement.

He's gained the "gift" of immortality thanks to the large amounts of Chaos Energy, Dark Gaia Energy, and other godly energies he's absorbed over the years. You could say he's something of a demigod now, capable of running at extreme speeds (of course), commanding the winds, and even turning himself into a beast!

Now at the ripe old age of 215 and heavily scarred in more ways than one, he wanders the world fighting off evildoers and stopping world-ending calamities just as he did in his youth. He's not alone, though, as he has help from Tails, Shadow, and even Silver on occasion. He may not be as spry as he used to be, but he'd never allow his world to fall into the wrong hands, even if it means pushing himself far beyond mortal limits and dying time and time again. It's not like death is permanent for him, anyway.

While Sonic still retains the title of "hero of Mobius", he doesn't interact much with the public anymore. In fact, he's seen as more of a myth now, and almost the entire world (except for Tails, Shadow, and Eggman Nega) thinks he died from natural causes long ago. He tries his best to keep his identity and immortality secret, going by different names on the off chance he runs into someone.

Unfortunately, the worst possible person who could know about his secret is already well aware of it, and is always hunting him down to capture him and see what makes him tick...

i’m OBSESSED with the way you characterize link in your reversal of fate AU…. i feel like people like to focus mostly on zelda’s pre-botw trauma (which is totally fair since it’s what the game mostly focuses on) but they forget that link has been training as a “sacred knight of the goddess”since he was 4,,,,, that cannot be healthy!!! (i like to give him both a superiority and an inferiority complex because of this,, like the kind of stuff you get growing up as a gifted kid)

also people tend to mostly excuse giving him a carefree demeanor because he’s an amnesiac but i feel that subconsciously he would still have some of the bias that comes with being such an important figure even though he’s not anymore,..

I really do think he has some deep issues because of his upbringing (as well as the whole calamity stuff ofc haha),,, Though I think he does gets way more carefree and silly in botw without his memories but I couldn’t imagine that his body doesn’t remember! I think his body tenses every time he’s in the castle, he gets stiff when the ghost of the king is revealed, and stuff like that,,, My post botw pre totk Link Design is wearing the leg piece from the hylian armor set. I think this is because he desperately tries to tie himself to the person he was pre botw, like he’s still fulfilling his duty, even a hundred years after his role stopped existing basically. That part isn’t too though through yet so I might revamp it but rn it’s kinda what I think! I like to make him complex in a way where he clings onto someone he’s not, but someone he (in his eyes) should’ve been (also same thing with the triforce scar!) ((I also love exploring Zelda’s trauma and experience, both of them have such great characterization potential!!!))

Him having both a superior and inferior complex is really interesting! The inferior complex is something I also see but the superior one is new to me,,, personally I think he prefers to be a nobody but I love that hc it’s so cool!! Maybe I could see him sometimes falling into a stoic superiority around people? I’ll think on it

wait guys let me cook i just had the best au idea imagine. imagine a skk centric onibi series au.

dazai is perfect for akari because if i remember correctly, she has a gift that makes people commit suicide (if i remember correctly) then mori can be ryou because everyone hates both of them. i have other reason as well, but ill leave that for people to guess

and then chuuya would be mai because funny gay cannibalism i love cannibalistic gays, also it’s amusing to me bc of vampire chuuya. also chuuya could be interpreted to have a curse in cannon if that’s what you consider his ability, and dazai is the only one to be able to cancel it out (so in a sense i think it’s interesting for in an onibi au that dazai is the one who gave him the curse and also is the one who can negate it)

also guys imagine fyodor as shikyou the amanojaku. i mean, come on. he was trying to get chuuya to cheat on dazai with him, the shikyou is atheist who basically thinks she’s god—compare that to the most recent chapters of bsd, it makes sense imo

kouyou could be emi because in my eyes kouyou is chuuya’s enabler for many things, and chuuya having a positive relationship with kouyou is very important to me. also it’s funny to imagine that skk meeting would cause a theoretical calamity, which fyodor would be attempting to stop by killing chuuya (because that’s his claimed goal for much of the bsd plot, aside from whatever bs he’s pulled in latest chapters)

atm i’m struggling to remember all of the onibi characters because i know that ryou has an insane sister and then a kid obsessed with slaughtering animals but i forget what relevance that has to the onibi plot

and then for the evil stuff, imagine dazai watching chuuya be beheaded by fyodor. chuuya, the only person who truly mattered to him. and the only thing he can do is watch. and then chuuya, in his final moments, existing within a dream where he and dazai were married and happy, and could live normally. all of this stripped away from them because of an evil fate, and fyodor’s desire to preserve that unfortunate future.

anyway, i can’t write fanfic so this will forever be an idea that just exists in my head

Part 2 of my au story :)

(I don't really know what to say here so yeah, hope it's good and do tell me what you all think :3)

Agata's sixth sense has never failed her yet, a gift passed down through the generations of her family as her mother always told her, Agata had always been in the right place at the right time, to either narrowly avoid disasters, or to witness wonders. It is no wonder then, that on that day, her senses told her to leave the cities. Agata was not to die alongside humanity.

As of today, her time is spent trekking into the remains of a once bustling city, its inhabitants long lost to their fates. Before the events that led up to the capital looking the way it now does, the citizens would've enjoyed a life of relative peace, society making use of electronics, while some could make use of technology through the powers of their spirits. Each person had a force inside of them, a spirit, a soul. That, with some practice could be channeled towards an object in order to manipulate it. The efficiency of this depending on the strength of their soul, and the stronger your soul, the more you could achieve. Those powerful enough could power full buildings with their souls.

Agata never had an issue with using these abilities herself, her bloodline throughout history proving itself to have abilities rarely seen among humanity.

They, of course, kept that to themselves.

She walks through the long abandoned city, buildings collapsed from a lack of maintenance. its inhabitants long gone- believing themselves to be too close to the impact zone of the blasts that littered the country's capital. She assumes, correctly, those people met their ends when they found themselves with no place better to go, succumbing to hunger or dehydration. The other towns and cities fell to a similar fate, perhaps more to the explosive side of things rather than the destructive energies that were released alongside the calamity that brought the major cities to rubble.

Agata looks up. The sky is grey with thick clouds, the sun barred from reaching the ground down beneath them. Silhouettes of dead trees and skyscrapers black against the backdrop behind them. No birds grace the sky with their songs..

'I wonder if I'll ever get to see the sun again..' she thinks to herself solemnly. She walks on.

Remnants of old offices, bakeries, and a library pass her by as the target building comes into view. An old store.

Today Agata is scavenging for supplies; food, medicines, undamaged batteries, bottled water, cables and maybe even clothes.

She enters the building through a collapsed wall towards the back, careful to avoid broken glass and loose tiles as to not fall. Using her powers she switches on her flashlight to illuminate the dark corridor, energy tingling at her fingertips a soft, warm feeling. Old advertisements litter the ground and cling desperately to the walls, blurred letters momentarily lightened up by the flickering glow of her light.

Agata wanders the aisles of this old store, old packages of what she thinks could've been food are littered across the floor.

'Smells rancid, ew..'

Her first stop is the canned food section, their contents can last for years as long as the containers are not damaged, oh how she misses the taste of fresh food- her mother's cooking...

Never mind that now.

Unfortunately, the shelves are empty, she sighs to herself, 'looks like someone already went through this whole place a long while ago'

Standing up from her crouched position, she swipes her long, unkempt light-brown hair out of her face, her blue eyes scanning the almost empty shelves of the store, anything left behind most likely far past edible.

'I don't feel like taking any chances...'

Agata finds the other items on her list relatively quickly after that, a small amount still left behind.

She coughs as her feet kick up dust into the air as she retreats back to where she entered the building from, careful as to not run into any shattered glass while making her way through the front doors. The skies outside were dark, the sun blocked out by thick layers of dust-filled clouds, a light breeze met her face. Its cold.

She walks through the exit. And sees three winged figures.

I ended up changing a lot of what the plot was gonna be, so I tried to explain how her world works 'n stuff.. soooooooooo

Reverse 1999 x MLP AU Idea!

So! I said I had this in my drafts for a while but I just realized it was weirdly formatted so I'm redoing everything.

everything here was inspired by this post/fanart and the characters will be mostly based on them! with a few extra mixed in.

First off, Context! While this is more based on Gen 4 (Friendship is Magic), it does feel a bit of a Gen 5 derivative in that it's supposed to be future Equestria.

The Alicorn Princesses and the Element of Harmony are long gone, simply a distant memory in the minds of many of today's ponies. Equestria since then have not had any one or two princesses to rule, however remnants of the old kingdom still persist. The Twilight Foundation as well as The School for the Primary Defence of Ponykind (SPDP) were founded by old members of Princess Twilight's court and Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns respectively, and made as a response to a prophecy which was uncovered that said on the last day of the 2nd millennium since Princess Luna's banishment, a great calamity will befall upon Equestria which will turn the land of ponies back to how it once was. And so on the last day of the year 1999, time stood still and started reversing everything. Nopony was safe from it's effects... except for one. Her name was Invert Tempo. The Timekeeper, of the Twilight Foundation.

(These are just names I personally came up with. If a better suggestion comes for any of them then I shall consider changing it)

Invert Tempo - Vertin (Earth pony) I saw a post once that said Vertin was just an anagram of Invert and I really wanted to incorporate that. Tempo was the suggestion of a friend, which relates to her musical inclination. or a shortened for of temporal which... y'know... fits very well

Sonnet "Sonetto" Moon - Sonetto (Unicorn) Honestly Sonetto is already a good pony name, but I wanted to give her a name akin to Twilight (There's a few parallels with those two not just in the post above), hence Sonnet Moon with Sonetto being a nickname.

"Captain R3G" Applecore - Regulus (Earth Pony) Applecore was actually the first name I came up with out of anything here because Regulus definately feels like she could be part of the Apple Family, maybe not directly Applejack's lineage though. I actually had a harder time with her nickname (Heavily inspired by Vinyl aka DJ Pon3)

Mistilteinn - Druvis III (Unicorn) She holds a bouquet of mistletoe, mistilteinn is literally just mistletoe... I could not NOT have her named after it. Also that can give her the nickname Mistil which sounds cute and cool!

Southern Breeze - Sotheby (Pegasus) Honestly I mostly picked this cause it was close sounding to Sotheby. Like you could also argue Sotheby could be a nickname because So(u)the(rn) B(r)ee(ze).

Morning Lillies - Lilya (Pegasus) This one also didn't have much thought put into it, just that Yellow = Sun = Morning and Lilya = Lillies and Morning Lillies sounded pony enough.

Mr. APPLe is still the same as canon

Mr. Karson is Mr. Carton Box (earth pony) cause it sounds close

Matilda (unicorn) I have no name for yet as well as Madam Z (kirin) and Constantine (maybe Pegasus) (suggestions welcome!)

Arcana is either a Draconequus or Changeling Queen and Forget-me-not is an Earth Pony

Headcanons!

Because of magic shenaniganry after the alicorns disappeared, earth ponies and pegasi can now use magic much like unicorns, but only a few of them. Some unicorns also lost their magic because of this hence a divide in "Normal" ponies and Arcanist ponies.

Applecore is a part of the very large Apple Family and runs Radio APPLe on her ship much like in canon. She also doesn't like people calling her by her real name so she goes Captain, Reg, or Reggy most of the time.

Mr. APPLe is a result of one of Applecore's experimentation in alchemy.

Orange Blossom is the filly of someone from the Orange Family and a Changeling, making her a half pony half changeling hybrid which also gives her minor shape shifting abilities.

being part of the Orange family also means technically Orange Blossom is distantly related to Applecore.

perhaps later on I shall add more but for now this is basically the gist of my ideas. Their cutie marks especially cause I wanna brainstorm what those could be like.

So next from the poll was Hermit, though with a surprise cause I am including Age of Calamity into the AU cause why not Fuck with the timeline even further. So I do have the order labeled but from Left to Right we have Age of Calamity, Link from BotW flashbacks, Link waking up on the Plateau, BotW Link in a "Repaired" champion's Tunic, and Tears of the Kingdom/Final Look.

As usual I will be including more information below the cut.

During one of these trips away from the palace, when stopped near the Faron Woods, Link left the camp in the dead of night almost in a trance and returned early the next morning with the Master Sword in hand. From then on his time spent in the Palace Kitchens was over as he was trust into serious training and taught all forms of weaponry.

THE CALAMITY

Link spent much of his younger years within the palace after moving into the barracks with his father, following the deaths of his mother and younger sister when his village was raided by bandits. While he spent some time in the barracks watching his father and the other knights much of his time was spent helping in the kitchen, learning from an elder woman who worked in the kitchen Mihn. He was happy to use his knowledge when he travelled with his father and his troops whenever they left the palace barracks.

It was as the Sheikah were testing the newly excavated Guardians that Zelda was overseeing the knights progress, while also sating her curiosity regarding the Guardians that a stray shot heading towards the princess was deflected by Link and he was quickly appointed as her Guard by the king.

So Link ended up following Zelda, and being hated by the princess as she saw him as a reminder of her failure to unlock her powers, though even after he saved her from the Yiga, during one of her trips visiting Urbosa, she did not completely warm up to him. After that inccident she instead ignored his presence as he tailed her as she continued trying to unlock her powers.

It wasn't until the Calamity struck and Zelda saw just how far Link was willing to go to protect her that she understood just how harsh she was to the boy that had lost just as much as she did, if not more. She tasked the Sheikah traveling with her to transport Link to the Shrine so that he may heal from his injuries while she left to face the Calamity alone and ended up fighting a battle alone that lasted 100 years.

From there Link traveled to the Sheikah and was guided by Impa, gaining memories as he went that left him with mixed feelings towards his goal and the princess who in the end saved his life and has overseen the protection of Hyrule as he healed.

100 YEARS LATER

When Link first awoke on the plateau his memories were gone though, if he had been able to at the time, would explain that the time he spent healing had almost felt like a dream. While on the Plateau he was guided and taught by an Elder male who inhabited the region, who was later revealed to be the King. After activating the towers and completing the shrines on the plateau Link watched as a shadowing mist seemed to almost glide through the air around the broken palace before being pushed back by a light of similar form.

During his journey he worked to free the divine beasts and was forced to face the corrupted remains of those he once called friends 100 years ago as well as defeat the Blights that had killed them. In between Divine Beasts he traveled, retrieved the Master Sword from its resting place and helped the remaining inhabitants of Hyrule who had begun to thrive once again during last 100 years.

After defeating the Calamity his mixed feelings towards Zelda returned, while deep down the task of protecting her arose he memories of her treatment of him until the end, kept from from doing more than escort her to Kakariko and then his home in Hateno that he gifted to her as his last act as her knight before leaving and deciding to continue traveling and helping around Hyrule.

Upon the individual reawakening Zelda was attacked, Link's muscle memory making him move with little thought where he recieved damage to his arm, while the cave system collapsed beneath them and Zelda disappeared in a spark of light. Link met the ghost of Rauru, a past King of the lost Zonai race, and was given direction on how to navigate the new sky islands before he was able to return to the surface with the task of finding Zelda who was still missing and had taken the remains of the Master sword with her to the past, where Rauru explained she was located.

THE UPHEAVAL

With some time away from Zelda following the Calamity's defeat Link found Zelda in one of the new growing settlements close to the palace where he agreed to accompany her into the Palace to explore the lower cave system left by the Calamity under the Palace. While exploring they uncovered mysterious records of an unknown time and age and those who inhabited it. At the deepest part of the cave system they uncovered the remains of an individual left to rot beneath the Palace.

After helping the regions around Hyrule with phenomenon plaguing their areas and retrieving the Master Sword from the light Dragon, Link was able to defeat the remains of the corruption below the palace and the monster that it became, gaining help from the spirits of Rauru and his wife Sonia, who were able to assist in returning Zelda to their time, though she did not return as she once was, she was changed from the events she lived through and her memory of any of the events was broken or hazy at best.

This Zelda understood the mistake of her "alternate" self and repaired the broken connection with Link and was able to lead her people to victory with her knowledge of what the Calamity would use against them, leading to the destruction and repurposing of the Guardians, removing a weapon from the playing field that would've been used against them in the end.

AGE OF CALAMITY

A break in the timeline from the meddling of the Goddesses and the blood and power within Zelda when she awakened her powers. Hyrule was given a second chance against the Calamity as time was reversed a month before the Calamity's attack. As it was Zelda's power that broke the timeline she awoke in this time with knowledge of the Calamity's attack and it was viewed as a prophecy brought on by her divine blood.

Wild-dragon, some story ideas I'm writing about your au are as follows:

-Zelda will be the one who uses the master sword, because she wants to be the one who wields the weapon with which she kills the demon king, for all the damage he has done to her (destroying her kingdom, killing her people, the champions and her father and forcing his best friend Link to become a dragon), something the others understand. She can wield the sword because in Skyward Sword it is said that the goddess Hylia wielded the heavenly sword, since Zelda is a descendant of the mortal reincarnation of the goddess and her powers flow through her veins and the master sword is the improved heavenly sword, she can use it (plus in both games he has held the sword without any problem)

-When Link in the temple of time gives Zelda her oath (as Zelda did in canon), Zelda gains the ability to see spirits such as koloks, dragons, underground knights who give her weapons, poes, and the spirit. from Sonia who appears before her at that moment to help her control her time management powers.

-The chain can see the spirit dragon due to its connection to it, just like champions.

-Due to Ganondorf's attack in the final fight, Mineru's Golem is destroyed, so Mineru abandons the construction and gives Zelda his secret stone to use.

-Because Link is the spirit dragon, when Rauru, Sonia, and Mineru (who had joined in to help) combine their powers and channel them through Zelda's arm, the dragon causes a spiritual explosion that accidentally brought them back to life. the three of them (dressed of course).

-Link returned, but his body irreversibly changed to that of a dragon, similar to this image of Zelda looking like a dragon but being Link.

Okay first I love everything here.

My spirit dragon au and the Lu au are kinda separate in my head just because I’m trying not to overwhelm my brain with characters.

In the spirit dragon au Zelda is defiantly the one pulling the sword and fighting Ganondorf.

As far as the powers link gives her she can already see the Koroks according to AOC. But I love the idea of the solder spirits being part of the gift. Maybe it allows her to interact with spirits from the past. Maybe she doesn’t hear Sonia’s voice until after Link share his powers with her.

I do like that Sonia would then train her in her time magic so Zelda would still have the recall ability. But maybe Links gift spirit talk allowing her to see different spirits around the world who guided her and that she could call for aid.

Like not only are the soldiers in the depths able to provide her with weapons but they can direct her to places (like asking for hints in the game) or they can join her in her adventure. There cause some damage to enemies but dissipate after a hit or two.

Recall is helpful in both combat and world exploring and I’d want Link’s ability to be the same. This could also mean Zelda would see soldiers who served during the calamity. Which is a whole other level of trauma and closure.

In the LU version I know Twilight won the poll. Someone commented that it was a trick question and all nine hero’s pulled the blade together. But I had another thought about it that I didn’t share. When Twilight rushes up to be with Wild maybe it’s not just the chain that follows him maybe Flora does as well. Maybe she and Twilight draw the sword together. The two people closest to Wild. Maybe Flora just needed the support of someone who lost just as much as she did when learning the Wild became a dragon.

As far as Mineru, Sonia, and Rauru coming back to life. It would be very easy to spin it in the Spirit dragon au. (Honestly I still see Link as the Spirit dragon in both I just would spend less time with the champions in a LU take if that makes sense)

But back to the ancient royals. In the Spirit dragon Au. Maybe after the help Zelda bring Link back by increasing Zelda’s recall ability. After the land, after Link wakes up. Maybe he sense there Spirits near by and reaches out to them. The same way Zelda could reach out to spirit with his power. They think he’s trying to say good by so Rauru grabs his hand, and Link just yanks him back into the world of the living. He then turns away from his startled princess and the ancient king currently laying face down in the grass and hold his hand out with a cheeky smile asking the two ladies which would go next.

As for Link/Wild coming back with dragon autonomy. While the art is beautiful and I love when people talk about it. It’s not my cup of tea. But that’s okay.

Honestly I’m just putting ideas out into the world and I’m so glad people are latching onto them and playing with them.

I was going to gift you this redraw of botw zelink in that red carpet appearance by Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain but I’m me and I stayed up until 3am plotting out an entire modern(ish it’s still hyrule but advanced) AU backstory. Merry merry!

It is one thousand years since the fall of the Calamity. One thousand years since Hylia whispered to a daughter of her blood. One thousand years since the last Hero rose from the dead, performed his sacred charge and then disappeared into The Lost Woods. Hyrule has once again abandoned the wild in favor of the advancements of Sheikah technology. Now with safeguards in place, the Realm is confident in the integrity of the Power.

Massive steel cities rise from the ground up. Trade routes open. Cultures blend. Every inch of Hyrule, save for The Lost Woods which have grown hostile toward all travelers, has been mapped. Old magic—faeries, the dragons, spirits—fades into the blue glow of engines and streetlights and Sheikah slates. Until now.

The Princess of Hyrule claims she is hearing a voice; urgent and hushed, in a dead language. A boy covered in scars walks out of the Lost Woods, completely mute, with an ancient sword. Monsters start to crawl out of the shadows. There is an echo of breath in the mines under Hyrule Castle. The public begins to lose faith in the protections of the Royal Family. So the King devises a plan.

The Princess and the boy from the woods are to spread hope throughout Hyrule in a series of formal appearances. Lavish parties, merchandise, interviews—a distraction until the Royal Family and the Sheikah can figure out what is going on.

Rumors swirl about a romance between the Princess and this low-born. A relationship is strictly forbidden by the King, which isn’t a problem because the two seem to despise one another. For now.

“Link, over here!”

“Princess, this way.”

“Princess! A smile for your kingdom!”

He should be used to this by now but the lights still blind him. Zelda drapes her arm across his shoulder and poses obediently, ruby red lips curving into a smile he can tell is forced by the way the muscles in her face twitch. He watches it for a moment, trying to calm his breath like she taught him.

That’s when he notices there is a glow on her skin. In between the flash of the cameras—something gold and shimmering. She’s giving off a warmth, too. It prickles his skin like the first glimpse of sun after winter.

But he’s never seen winter. He thinks.

Something swells inside him. It reaches from that ancient place with both hands; yearning for her warmth. He glances up at her through his lashes, salvia in his mouth, and for a second he’s almost feral. Wolf-ish.

Before he can stop himself, his lips are on the glow on the inside of the arm draped across his shoulder. It’s like he’s swallowed a star. Like he has been underwater all this time and only just come up for air at the last second. His entire body sings; his blade striking steel.

She freezes in his arms. Green eyes blow wide with shock. She feels it, too?

And then the frenzy starts.

The crowd explodes. Sheikah cameras flash rapidly. It’s a blur of light and clicks and chaos. It is the song of a scandal.

“Well,” Zelda says under her breath, leaning into him completely. “Father said they needed a big distraction. Nice work.”

She folds a hand against his chest. “Hold my waist.”

He does.

“Lower.”

He does.

The crowd erupts with cheers. Someone shouts for him to kiss her again.

Link swallows. He doesn’t know how to tell her that he’s starting to remember strange things. Winter in Hebra. Old forms. Broken ruins in Hyrule field. Metal spiders and poison rot. Her waist-deep in a Spring. Her holding him close, blood in her face. Her trapped deep within the belly of Evil.

He’s trembling. She squeezes him reassuringly. “It’s just a game.”

He doesn’t know how to tell her.

It’s never been a game.

But later on, when he turns into the God Of Calamity, most people despise and fear him. So, no offerings and gifts were given to him anymore.

Old Man Sonic AU-

It’s the Sonic we all know and love! … Except he’s long overdue for retirement.

He’s gained the “gift” of immortality thanks to the large amounts of Chaos Energy, Dark Gaia Energy, and other godly energies he’s absorbed over the years. You could say he’s something of a demigod now, capable of running at extreme speeds (of course), commanding the winds, and even turning himself into a beast!

Now at the ripe old age of 215 and heavily scarred in more ways than one, he wanders the world fighting off evildoers and stopping world-ending calamities just as he did in his youth. He’s not alone, though, as he has help from Tails, Shadow, and even Silver on occasion. He may not be as spry as he used to be, but he’d never allow his world to fall into the wrong hands, even if it means pushing himself far beyond mortal limits and dying time and time again. It’s not like death is permanent for him, anyway.

While Sonic still retains the title of “hero of Mobius”, he doesn’t interact much with the public anymore. In fact, he’s seen as more of a myth now, and almost the entire world (except for Tails, Shadow, and Eggman Nega) thinks he died from natural causes long ago. He tries his best to keep his identity and immortality secret, going by different names on the off chance he runs into someone.

Unfortunately, the worst possible person who could know about his secret is already well aware of it, and is always hunting him down to capture him and see what makes him tick…

Freaks AU-

It’s a supernatural AU in which Sonic gets bit by a werebeast, turning into one himself. He lives in an abandoned attic along with Silver, life long best friends, who is a recently turned vampire, and also Tails Doll, possessed by Tails’ soul.

Once he learns how to control his other half, Sonic has the ability to shift or partially shift at will, although it’s harder on New Moons, and easier on Full Moons. They also got Super Full Moons, in which they go completly feral and bloodthirsty, and Super New Moons, where a werebeast go into a hibernation state.
