Tarble drawings I did recently.

I wish Tarble was shown more, like he's related to Vegeta and has his own special but barely anyone knows he's a character in DBZ. Also he's funny.

So I got my filthy hands on the two small "volumes" of the original Manga that contains Yo Son Goku and Friends Return (by Ooishi Naho, you know, the DBSD person, who was a doujin artist prior).

Been getting back into dbz lately (partially thanks to the dbz fandom being alive and well and kicking my ass on artfight with my one oc) and as a result i've been thinking of lots of aus and what-ifs regarding dbz and such

Had a late night can't sleep thought of 'what if Tarble had married a Tuffle instead of Gure'/'what if Gure was a Tuffle' and this lovely lady was born!

Her name is Princess Furu (from Furūtsu/Fruit). She is the last 'pure'/non-Baby-like Tuffle and daughter of King Tuffle who was sent to another planet as a small child early in the Saiyan-Tuffle war. When the Tuffles lost contact with the experimental ship it was presumed destroyed but in reality it had in fact managed to land safely on another planet. The very same planet that Tarble would be sent to many years later by his father! Initially there was some tension between the two but eventually Furu began to accept the Prince. After learning of the destruction of Planet Vegeta the two bonded with another over the loss of the planet and, now, the loss of both of their peoples.

Eventually Tarble and Furu seek out Vegeta for help dealing with Abo and Kado just like in canon, however, this time they choose to stay on Earth. The reason being that they have a daughter in this AU and they would like her to grow up around other Saiyans.

The daughter is gonna be a reworked version of my ancient tuffle-saiyan hybrid oc Elppa!

Anyway here is the Princess herself!

She's basically her own oc at this point I guess? Just heavily inspired by Gure :D She's also stylistically inspired by various tuffle outfits seen throughout the series!

I'm sure it's been discussed at length already but I think it's easy to assume saiyans are strong so their genes are dominant but I (like to) think it's the opposite. It's interesting to think that the ecological nature of a saiyan is stealthy and invasive, and according to Jaco a saiyan invasion was going to be extra dangerous to earth because they look like earthlings (and a lot of other human-like races in the db universe) and one baby saiyan will easily go completely undetected until it starts the extermination process.

so it actually makes a lot of sense to me that a saiyan hybrid would take more physical traits from a local species, while maintaining the potential to house a saiyan's strength and inborn power over ki (which I think due to the story following a group of people who use it is a thing we often forgotten is a super rare and dangerous ability in that universe, and inborn/instinctive to a select few very powerful races). Could also be a fun way to explain why their tails can detach and grow back, since that may be the only real Tell.

because like yeah gohan and goten look like goku but they also look like chichi ykwim? trunks and bulla look like bulma. pan looks like videl. thoughts i chew on.

I also just find parasitism a real good meaty horror concept to put in my little 'this is why everyone's afraid of saiyans' headcanon file along with 'can see in the dark, biologically strategic energy consumption, can go long periods without food or rest' and of course the canonical 'surprise monkey werewolf kaiju'

Hello, nobody asked but here's my full headcanon post on Tarble and Gure.

Yes, I do in fact remember that Tarble and Gure are the sweetest sweethearts to exist in Dragon Ball despite me mostly talking about and posting about Tarble/Granolah. SO LET'S BEGIN.

Tarble was banished from Planet Vegeta as a young child, let's say about five or so. King Vegeta picked Tech-Tech because, while the Tech-Techs can be a little mmmmm war-mongery (this is actual canon), they're still weaker than the average Saiyan. So at worst Tarble may get knocked around a little but will eventually toughen up, not be killed.

They also are very advanced with their technology and weapons, so in KV logic—since he had noticed Tarble had an above average intellect even at his age—it made more sense to send him there.

It doesn't stop Tarble from feeling out of place and sad when he lands there, of course, and the Tech-Techs are kind of like "what's with this sassy...lost child?" and kind of bully him.

Until Gure comes in.

She sticks up for Tarble and demands that they stop or else she'll heckie them up!

Gure is a little bit of an unusual Tech-Tech herself because she's more gentle than others and has an even temper, so naturally she and Tarble become friends. Though unlike Tarble with Saiyans, Gure is very popular with other Tech-Techs.

Over time, as Tarble gets older, he grows into a role of living as a person who lives on Tech-Tech, protecting the planet from invaders, farming, helping build settlements and create technology.

If you're noticing this headcanon is a parallel to Goku: yes.

Okay last note: He's the one who asks Gure if she wants to get married when they get older, the conversation went like.

Tarble: Um, Gure, we're close, aren't we?

Gure: Yes, of course!

Tarble: Maybe...would you like to get married?

Gure: *doesn't know what marriage is because Tech-Techs don't practice things like that* What's that?

Tarble: *doesn't actually know either because he's read about marriage in books only* We live together and I cook for you.

Gure: Hmmm that sounds good but do we get to hold hands too?

Tarble: Y-yes!

Gure: Okay! Let's get married!

Tarble: Oh, wonderful!

They're both pleased as punch but Gure especially, she thinks she's getting a pretty sweet deal living with the tallest, strongest, most handsome man on the planet and he can cook.

This might be a weird and/or depressing thing to note but (in my headcanon, I'm not gonna force it onto anyone else) seriously speaking? They're physically incompatible. Functionally, they can't have kids together, and while Saiyans are mammal/primate-based, Tech-Techs are likely not.

Tarble being raised around Tech-Techs grew used to going without physical affection though so it doesn't bother him most of the time, except some instinctual loneliness. He and Gure still hold hands and exchange hugs occasionally, he's physically protective of her (as shown in the OVA) so it's not like they're not close despite that.

Tech-Techs are also nonverbal with their affection, which is very helpful to Tarble since Saiyans are also that way. They've never had to say that they love each other aloud and that's fine.

After more than 13 years of conservation, which involved restoring the tiles and wall paintings dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries, Mrs Gureli Yazgan is gearing up to reopen Çinili as a contemporary art venue on September 30.

A museum dedicated to Byzantine cisterns will occupy the lower levels, which feature newly uncovered wall carvings of boats suspected to have been made by slaves. (Tim gets on his horse and rides away.)
