Sebastian's Age
Ok please excuse me while I get autistically pedantic about this but I do not believe Sebastian is 2 years older than Maru. How would that even happen? He’s not 20. He’s not 22. Sebastian is 26.
FOLLOW ME OK LETS GO FOR A WALK.
Canon Facts:
Maru is his half-sister
Demetrius does not have a single line of dialogue about Sebastian
Sebastian has only negative things to say about his step father
Sebastian and Robin have no lines about a biological father
Are you telling me that Sebastian was raised by this man from infancy? He was raised from infancy, with this man as his only father figure, with Maru as his sister very close in age, and has no relationship with either of them?
Is it technically possible? Yes, I will give you that! But it is far less likely. Especially in fictive works, we have to consider the more likely scenario.
The more likely scenario being: Demetrius entered Sebastian’s life when he was old enough to reject him as a father figure. At the earliest, I would say seven years old. But even that feels young? The average seven year old will WANT a father figure unless something goes terribly wrong (which I headcanon it does, but thats another post). Then, a year or so later, Maru was born.
By my conservative calculations that puts Maru at 18 and Sebastian at 26 for the events of the game. And it makes sense! A 26 year old could absolutely be working as a freelance software developer, AND still live at home.
A 26 year old man can be emo. What would be stopping him, he works freelance and everything? Maybe you think he’s younger because of the band, but again, can’t someone be in a band at 26? He is a working adult with a hobby.
I guess if you really hated Demetrius you could headcanon that Demetrius refused to see Sebastian as his son, and then that would excuse how he could be younger and still not have a relationship with him. But you'd have to also assume Robin was a pretty lackluster mom to get married to a man who refused to even try to love her baby.
Maybe you'd excuse it as them having had a falling out. Maybe there was a time when they did see each other as family, and the relationship fell apart. Okay, I think you'd still have to do some mental gymnastics to explain how Robin had a baby with one man and then another baby with a different man almost immediately. Maybe if Sebastian was the product of a one-night stand, and Demetrius was fine taking in a woman and her newborn baby. But again that feels like more of a stretch to me.
DISCLAIMER: Im open to everyone having their own headcanons, its just odd to me how prevailing fanon has him at ~22 and Maru 20 when that does not make sense to me considering the family dynamic
Am I missing something? Do you agree? If you have an alternate explanation I will be checking reblogs of this post

Tutorial: How to Draw as a Young Artist
Hi, I have heard that some parents don't believe in artistic nudity, despite A) useful art books traditionally using imagery of unclothed people, (note: I have never seen these books, as I didn't think of it or of going to a library 🤷) and B) the aforementioned strict parenting harms the artistic progression of the youth.
I suggest finding reference.
Urgent
The human body is "perfect" and no 3D modeling software, app for 3D models, Barbie doll, ball-jointed doll, action figure, or anime posing figurine is able to capture it fully and properly.
You learn a little more with every person (or animal, plant, object, or building) you draw.
For references, use...
Anatomy using medical quality, musculoskeletal images
Stock images of people in diving suits, superhero costumes, ballerinas, ice skaters, gymnasts, beachgoers
Sequence photography
Screenshots of moving people from videos
360 degree photography (?) or videos (?)
Modeling digitals (clothed)
For free websites, use...
Adorkastock (clothed, but it's humans who appear to have beachwear)

Pinterest, although copyrights may be hidden somewhere in there
Youtube for sports videos
Other
For non-virtual options, use a sketchbook with grid paper, head to the park, and draw random people.
For daily instructions made by me, use...

Please reblog, note, and follow. Drawing is important and artists are struggling to draw better as early as possible.

It's me the fool back again with another au this time it's
Actual Criminals Au for P5
Where. They're real criminals.
The metaverse isn't real, and all of them grew up with qualms about how some people get away with everything. And, eventually, they all get the push they need to stop being a bystander and become Phantom Thieves
They all live in the same building, and have a secret lair under it. They pose as normal people with jobs and lives and then at night they're plastering evidence of assaulters all over Shibuya, or leaking videos of insider trading or what's on someone's hardrive
Sometimes they do normal crime like stealing from the rich to fund their bigger operations. Just for fun
Okay let's go down the list
Akira works as a bartender in a fancy hotel bar, and goes home to his "wife", Haru, each night. That's how it appears, at least. As a fresh graduate from secondary school, he ended up coming together with some friends to expose a shitty pervert for who he was, and thus began their lives as the Phantom Thieves. Joker is the ringleader, and known publicly to always be listening from the shadows
Then there's Ryuji, a middle school phys Ed teacher, married to Makoto. It's perceived to be a functioning marriage. He was a founding Thief, and is their Rough'em'up guy. Between Skull and Queen, they get their answers when they want them
Ann is next, wed to Yusuke, working as a model. Mysteriously, the guest room at their place seems to always be occupied by former top athlete Shiho. Ann's love for her best friend was one of the main flames behind the beginning of the Thieves, and Panther is key at tricking their enemies into drinking a spiked drink or spilling secrets for a moment with the attractive blonde
Okay now, Yusuke, he came later. Yeah married to Ann blah blah. He's an artist, paints in a studio all day. His former mentor drove him to the brink, but luckily the Thieves found him there, and gave him the power to drag himself back to his feet. Fox is very feared, as his harsh words and quick moves remind his enemies of an old samurai
Makoto was once looking like she would be another young officer on the streets, doomed to being beat down by the system. Now, she owns a gym a block from where she lives with her husband Ryuji, and moonlights as the fast driving, hard hitting Thief Queen. The only thing that burns brighter than her rage at the failing society around her is her homosexuality.
Software engineer Futaba lives alone, and she likes it that way, supposedly. She's gotten her act together, again, supposedly, and is no longer hacking. Yeah right. After taking down the false shepherd Medjed, Oracle does the computer work for the Thieves, keeping them in the know during missions
The final standard member of the Thieves, Haru, didn't exist until recently. Well, under the name Haru. She used to live as the sole son of the CEO of Okumura Foods, and has found a life that suits her much better. As Haru, she runs a bakery just outside the entrance of her apartment building, and lives with her husband, Akira. As Noir, she's more than willing to show that actions have consequences, though she's often aware enough to keep her act to just frightening rather than deadly
Then it's the half members, Goro and Sumire. They're legally married. One is a top tier detective, the other teaches youth gymnastics. Crow and Violet appear maybe once every other month at most, filling the roles the teams those nights need
--
Okay so this is a Polythieves au, so the married couples above are mostly for cover. Below is a simplified web of the poly workings of the group
Akira -> Goro, Sumire, Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, Shiho, Haru
Ryuji -> Akira, Ann, Yusuke, Haru
Ann -> Shiho, Akira, Ryuji, Yusuke, Makoto, Haru
Yusuke -> Akira, Goro, Ryuji, Ann
Makoto -> Haru, Ann, Shiho
Futaba -> Sumire
Haru -> Makoto, Akira, Ryuji, Ann, Shiho
Goro -> Akira, Yusuke, Sumire
Sumire -> Akira, Futaba, Goro
I have lots more for this but this is just the like outline post. SEND ME ASKS IF YOU WANNA KNOW ANYTHINF OR HAVE QUESTIONS

Josh Marcus at The Independent:
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy on Monday largely blamed a string of problems plaguing Newark Liberty International Airport and the larger flight system on the Biden administration — though he also seemed to accidentally indict Trump for not doing more. As officials begin to reduce flights to stem the crisis, Duffy said in a press conference that Newark’s recent issues — which have included radar outages, software problems, flight delays, and a lack of air traffic controllers — were “left to us from the Biden-Buttigieg administration,” referring to the former president and Pete Buttigieg, his Democratic predecessor. “We didn’t have to be here. This did not have to be our story. Over the last four years, the last administration, they knew this was a problem,” Duffy added. “And by the way, during Covid, when people weren’t flying, that was a perfect time to fix these problems.” That period would also cover 2020, Donald Trump’s final year in office. Critics of the administration quickly pounced on the statement. “Blaming Biden for Trump’s actions in his first term is an impressive new category of mental gymnastics,” progressive commentator Brian Tyler Cohen wrote on X. Nonetheless, Duffy accused the previous administration of failing to take action and focusing on issues like working at home and inclusive language for air workers. As NJ.com notes, the Biden administration also pushed Congress to approve funding for 2,000 new air traffic controllers, and exceeded its 2024 hiring goals for such workers. Regardless of who’s to blame for the problem, fixes remain urgently needed, as delays and under-staffing reportedly continue at Newark, one of the country’s busiest airports and a hub for United Airlines.
DOT Secretary Sean Duffy’s obsession with blaming former President Biden for the airline safety disasters under Trump is cray-cray.

unnecessarily specific headcanons for college!AU f1 drivers, part 2
part 1 available here
(and now with more gender diversity because it’s my AU and why not)
pierre

- major: entrepreneurship
- attending on a sports scholarship. is on the diving team
- birth name Pascale but she hates it, someone called her Pierre years ago as a joke (after the founder of the modern olympics) and it stuck
- met charles as a kid on a highscool exchange scuba diving trip and they’ve been best friends ever since
- has made a habit of introducing herself as “from Rouen, not Paris”, so much so that the rest of the gang groans and says it for her every time someone new arrives and she has to make an introduction
- has bars of chocolate stowed in random places. literally all sorts. it’s her bad habit. she and Lando become friends because she hoards good Belgian chocolate (“the real stuff not this Americane or Britishe nonsense”)
- got into a huge disagreement with max over a second year group project. people could hear the dispute from several rooms down in the library. they were called into the dean’s office and let off with a warning
- claims not to be a good cook but regularly bashes out amazing French home cuisine that has half the dorm in tears
- somehow also finds time to snowboard and run half marathons during summer and winter breaks
yuki

- major: he doesn’t go to the university but is in the city culinary school. he is Pierre’s friend and shows up on campus mostly on Fridays and weekends
- the origin story of their friendship changes all the time because they lie about it. it becomes a running gag and nobody knows the actual truth (the truth is they both swiped right on tinder in freshman year, but actually worked out to be better friends than a couple)
- disgusted by most campus food. will bring his own bentos to eat on the quad. can magic up dishes out of seemingly nothing. famous for a hack that somehow involves making omurice in a rice cooker. also does a killer savoury soufflé pancake, and deep fried chicken which the gang request every time they get too sloshed. Yuki obliges because he enjoys cooking for people
- actually enjoys anime but gets annoyed when people ask him about it or when people use weeby topics as a conversational opener with him
- learned English from stage-ing in local kitchens and thus swears like a sailor and knows cuss words in three additional languages (Spanish, Italian, French)
- scar on leg in shape of a cow from falling off a skateboard once
- everyone thinks he and Pierre have something going on but at this point it’s purely platonic
- will start a fight if drunk and people make fun of his height
lando

- major: psychology
- openly nonbinary
- performs well in their field of study but is determined to finish their degree so they can fully focus on their budding career in esports. esports alias is quadrant
- dyes their hair different colours constantly, depending on mood. had a phase where it was really orange when they were mad at an overwatch match that ended badly
- self-taught in three different instruments (guitar, piano, recorder for the shits and giggles). is a better DJ than charles and stops charles from taking the aux chord at parties to play his charlie sadboi mixes all the time
- best Instagram stories of the gang. somehow really well curated but authentic at the same time
- will do standup one day for kicks and absolutely murder the set, and then never touch it again
- shockingly good at the game twister. maybe was a gymnast in highschool but doesn’t like to talk about it possibly due to the gender trauma
- is a little bit abrasive and will tease/clown everybody for their shenanigans. but when shit hits the fan is the first person to show up with a big bowl of soup and some tissues and check if the other person is okay and “do you want to talk about it”
guan yu

- major: software engineering
- always seems on the cusp of some academic disaster but pulls through surprisingly well
- rides an e scooter around campus
- people think he’s in the architecture or design school because he always turns out immaculate fits
- is the person to ask everyone during study sessions if anyone wants bubble tea. (he wants bubble tea. he will order for everyone. he has a phone note with everyone’s favourite order. he judges charles for wanting a jasmine tea flavour but with milk. he will patiently explain to max what a bubble tea is, then it becomes one of max’s favourite drinks.)
- despite his academic ups and downs, already has unconditional offers from at least 3 Silicon Valley late-stage startups and all 4 Chinese big tech firms
- will one day do something so revolutionary with AI and visual design, like the next great CAD system or something, that he never has to work again
carla

- major: history of art
- many aliases. aka Carlita. Kylie. Kiki.
- THE it-girl on campus. manicure always immaculate and always in shades of red. boys (and girls, and even the TAs) always want to talk to her but are sooo intimidated
- always posting Instagram photos of her on a plane or holiday even though she’s studying in her room. never lets people know her next move
- people clown her for her major but she is actually really knowledgeable about art and takes it very seriously. her study notes are extremely organized, whether it’s her macbook or flashcards. she is in general good favour with the profs if she would only stop texting in seminars
- dad’s name is on one of the library wings. everyone realises this on the first day and she’s like “yes… i am a nepo baby. anyway where are we meeting later, i have an in with the promoters at this club if we want to go there”
- secret guilty pleasure is playing first person shooter games on her switch and absolutely decimating people. it is her outlet for aggression. she may also have beaten quadrant/lando at overwatch once but won’t tell anyone because playing overwatch messes with her party girl image
- starts a side hustle doing events and ten years after graduation will be extremely successful in this venture
- stress cries often but pulls it together. prone to scream-singing sad Spanish ballads when drunk. surprisingly knows every single word to a decade’s worth of Pitbull songs

a tuesday
listening: bionicle nostalgia playlist. ur welcome.
reading: mostly help forums for my dogshit software.
watching: olympics!! specifically fencing and a smattering of gymnastics. i think we all knew that lee keifer would win women's foil but it was so satisfying to watch happen. she really is a fucking steamroller, have not had one like her before and probably won't again for a very long time. her whole situation is insane - father was duke fencing captain and now a medical doctor, and now all three of his kids including lee are ALSO that and international fencers which is. insane. - and i am in awe of her etc. i did bring my fencing gear back to my apartment with me and i'm looking forward to starting that again, it's been like. at least five years since i last did anything with fencing and i miss it.
the other night i watched shaolin soccer with my boyfriend and roommate's bf. insane fucking film. they had both seen it already (my boyfriend saw it at least 20 years ago as a young kid, in the original canto/mandarin (which he does not speak) with no subtitles which i'm sure was a fucking experience) and . film of all fucking time, i think. insane plot and premise, makes absolutely no sense, overall story has confusing holes, but i'll be damned if i didn't have a great time watching it.
youtube
saw new house of the dragon on sun. i cannot bring myself to care about ulf. blacksmith guy is a little better but clearly still not great considering i cant remember his name. some of the writing this season has me like. squints. which beloved mutual pngjpeg reminded me that this one was written during the writers strike which does explain a lot i think. i'm still enjoying it, i really loved alicent's decision to just fuck off to the woods for a bit. she's so real for that. ophelia-coded lake float and all (which is ironic, because, fire and blood spoilers, i'm pretty sure alicent is one of the few people to make it out of this alive).
finally, roommate's bf has been putting on modern family every night in the living room so therefore we have also been watching modern family. brainrotting type of content (derogatory)
playing: soooo much pokemon go. it has become a vital part of my workout routine. i catch pokemon in between weight sets and also when im doing cardio LOL
making: made some coaster blanks in pottery for Secret Gifts ... hopefully they are done in time, gonna really grind them the next week or two!
eating: because i am back in my home base: many many good things. pictures courtesy of my boyfriend. we really said Protein Over Rice. in order:
harissa chicken thighs with shallots, this time with real harissa instead of gochujang - that shit is SPICY goddamn. it's really good though. my roommate's bf has an immersion blender and is in his Homemade Mayo era and i used some of that to cut the spice on my portion and my god that was so fucking good. this was followed by chicken and egg bowl (leftover chicken thighs with scrambled egg) and gyudon.
misc: on one hand i'm really glad to be back in my place! on the other i'm losing my mind a little bit because my roommate's boyfriend has moved in and i don't move out til aug 8 so i'm going a little insane with how disorganized my everything is right now. like i can't unpack anything because it makes no sense to so im just living out of my big ass suitcase. it's fine i'll be fine but like aaaa. also he re-organized all the cabinets and pantry so i don't know where anything fucking is any more !!! agony. i can't wait to have my own space for real.
my work ethic lately has been .. not great ... my advisor also is kinda leaving me on read which isn't my favorite. shrug. onwards and upwards i suppose. look at this crayfish hole and swallowtail butterfly from a walk in a park yesterday

My final animation for the Movement project, unfortunately i didn't finish it due to time constraints. With this animation I aimed to combine everything I learned in the Animation, Painting and Graphic Design workshops.
In the animation workshop I planned out what I wanted my project to revolve around. With Paul Gardiner's advice and encouragement I looked at various different movies and tvs as secondary research for the ways I could use this media for my project. After making storyboards and animatics I realised this was the perfect medium to try and make a full animation for the project. The secondary research of movies and tv shows inspired the camera angles I wanted to use in my animation, however I still needed inspiration for the layout and style of it.

I spoke to Paul Tarpey about taking photos of the movements done in gymnastics as primary research. As he taught me how to use the DSLR camera, I found the way parts of the body blurred while in motion very interesting and wanted to incorporate it into my project.
At the painting workshop I got to practice drawing the human body in many different poses at the live model session. This made me feel much more confident moving forward in the project with the human anatomy being such a key part of the animation.

After the tutor Sylvia pointed me in the direction of amazing artists like Norman McLaren, I practiced certain key frames that I wanted to show in the animation, eye catching frames that would encapsulate the massive range of movements Rhys performs in his routine. With the secondary research from the animation workshop, the practice in the live model session, and the primary research from Pauls camera and a gymnastics club in Douglas, I was able to create two particular shots that I really liked.
The last workshop I did was the graphic design workshop, and this gave me huge inspiration on the style of drawing I wanted to use in the animation. We created both 2d and 3d paper models of things we would like to revolve are project around. In addition to this, Sharon Le Gear gave me great advice on artists to research. The illustrator Soren Selleslagh in particular was a massive inspiration for the way I wanted to design Rhys in the animation. the graphic design workshop also helped become much more comfortable on computers, as we used software like adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator when designing posters and the likes for out projects. Figuring out how to use the adobe software allowed me to splice together different angles of Rhys' routine, allowing me to rotoscope them for my animation.

Overall this projects pushed me well out of my comfort zone in terms of media to use for my project. Storyboarding and animatics were not something I was familiar with before the animation workshop, and painting was a completely new medium for me. Using software like adobe was also a massive learning experience but thanks to help from the tutors Paul G, Paul T, Sylvia, Owen, Maeve and Sharon I was able to get a better grasp on each of these mediums for my project. My classmates PD, Falcon and Jizzabelle were also a huge for this project, offering fantastic advice and guidance in the workshops we had together. Thanks guys
Although I am happy with what I got done, I do wish I got the full animation finished. As you can see above, there's a fairly large chunk of the middle of the video missing. Upon reflection, I shouldve done more artist research right at the beginning of the project, which would've given more direction right from the start, rather than me figuring it out from workshop to workshop. I will learn from this moving forward.
Also, I now know that I shouldve given every segment of the animation an equal amount of attention, rather than focusing on getting one or two parts done as perfect as possible. As you can see in the animation above, I needlessly busted my balls trying to get the whole animation up to 8 frames per second, instead of getting the entire animation done at a realistic pace like 3 frames per second. Although most people would have the common sense to see it from the start, I only realise now that getting 371 frames done in 6 or 7 weeks on top of all the other work we had to do in the workshops and that blasted CCS module; was a nonsensical endeavour. I will learn from this moving forward.

Overall I really enjoyed this workshop. It was so much fun learning more about animation, painting, and graphic design. Although animation was the main medium used in this project, I learned the most in the graphic design workshop, as we were taught about principle of design, typography, and shown loads of working artists to take inspiration from for our project. The whole project was a load of fun and Id like to pursue Graphic design in the next semester.

Does Haru send the other phantom thiefs her burgers to help fatten them up?

“Don’t say it like that! But…it is true. With lower business hours, some burgers are free for ‘company friends.’ It’s not at a huge loss…but the gains are notable. I mentioned Ann and Makoto…Sumi and the boys have been holding off, though she has gotten a bit curvier across her career as a gymnast. Futaba…is guilty of abusing takeout orders. She’s become a skilled software developer, but rarely leaves her home. It’s all their choice to eat so many burgers they’re more belly than woman! I don’t try to fatten anyone up myself!” PFRRRNTT!! “Well…except for Makoto…”

having any sort of disorder is literally like having to do stupid maneuvers and gymnastics in order to let your brain Do The Thing You Want It To Do. its literally like having to do stupidly convoluted speedrun strats in order to trick the engine that is your brain into doing a thing that its not supposed to do but still helps you get through. its literally like going into its files and having to download like 3 external programs to modify those files especially if the engine was built to deter modding tools. its literally like opening the back of it and having to use a soldering iron or a pair of tweezers to modify the hardware so that it can run custom software

The kiddies, in my verse, where I reveal their future occupations. And not all of their endgames. *Shrugs* I think I've revealed 5/9 (Adrian, Hannah, Becca, James, and Leah).
Elizabeth "Betsy" Victoria Kelso (born January 15, 1979): Kelso and Brooke's eldest daughter, played by Minka Kelly. Is a major character earlier on in the series, and becomes a doctor. Is kind of a Laurie, but a zany one. She'll get involved in all of the kids' shenanigans, and frequently starts shenanigans of her own. Is seldom subtle.
Adrian Reginald Forman (born July 18, 1984): Fez and Laurie's son, played by Dylan O'Brien. Is a major character. Deeply introverted, he is a classic STEM nerd and avid gamer, and eventually becomes a software engineer. He doesn't have a lot in common with his dad or stepmother, or his half sister. He spends summers with Red and Kitty.
Hannah Michaela Kelso (born November 23, 1984): Kelso and Brooke's youngest daughter, played by Lyndsy Fonseca. A prominent minor character. She's a caring sweetheart with a childish whimsy. She ends up becoming a stay at home mom, and she loves every minute of it.
*****
Rebecca "Becca" Leona Hyde (born December 5, 1985): Jackie and Hyde's daughter, played by Jessica Brown Findlay. Is a major character. She's quiet and crafty, and doesn't really do well in structured environments (like school). She loves to sew and loves to listen to music. Alt pop, grunge, and oldies, mainly. She ends up setting up an alterations' shop, and helps out at Grooves sometimes. Oh, and she's bi.
Katherine "Kate" Erin Forman (born February 28, 1986): Eric and Donna's eldest daughter, played by Lacey Hannan. Is a major character. She's an idealist, and a perfectionist. She's a social butterfly, and an overachiever. But deep down, nothing she does is ever good enough. Especially after her failed stint in NYC, and a long-term relationship gone wrong. She moves back to Chicago, and works with her mother as a journalist.
James Reginald Hyde (born October 22, 1987): Jackie and Hyde's son, played by Nicholas Hoult. Is a major character. He's rebellious and ambitious, and is constantly finding ways to upend the system and make money. He ends up taking over Grooves, with his dispensary Holy Smokes as a prominent side hustle. With his wife Leah by his side...well, taking some of the edibles.
*****
Hallie Anna Rivera (born December 26, 1988): Laurie's daughter, played by Daisy Ridley. Is a major character later on in the series, as she finally falls into the Forman fold. Like Adrian, she was mostly raised by her dad. A rebellious party animal with a chip on her shoulder, the world is her oyster. Well, to crack open and destroy. She fixes things as a mechanic, eventually, like her dad. Oh, and she's a lesbian.
Ashley Maria Tate (born May 4, 1989): Fez and Rhonda's daughter, played by Josie Loren. Is a minor character. Is an avid dancer, gymnast, and cheerleader, and is an avid life of the party. She ends up taking over her parents' dance studio.
Leah Margaret Forman (born January 1, 1990): Eric and Donna's youngest daughter, played by Katie Leclerc. Is a major character. Is an awkward, nerdy tomboy with a love of Harry Potter, and is snarky and opinionated. She gets what she wants, duh. Step by step. She doesn't know what she wants for a career, though, like her dad, but ends up teaching in the same school as her dad. As an English teacher, where she can geek out over her favorite books.

Re: Fun video games that (probably) won't fry your laptop. These are all on Steam.
-Factorio - Strategy/puzzle game about automating an enormous factory while siphoning natural resources from an infinite alien landscape. Highly moddable. Still receives occasional updates. Includes in-game tutorial, and peaceful mode if you don't want to fight the planet's giant cockroaches. Allegedly indirectly teaches you about software engineering.
-Killing Floor - Co-op first-person shooter survival horror. Work alone or with friends (difficulty scales with player count) to fend off waves of increasingly deadly mutants in locations ranging from West London to secret underground labs to Santa's workshop, before squaring off against their mad scientist creator. Already sequeled twice and receives no further updates (don't expect a huge player base), and many weapons (and cosmetic skins) are locked in DLCs.
-DEFCON - Real-time strategy about global thermonuclear war, inspired by the 1980s movie Wargames. Take control of one or more territories and try to eradicate as much of the population of up to fixe enemy territories while minimizing your own losses. Highly moddable, and often goes on sale for really cheap. Includes in-game tutorial. Was once the focus of an actual for real scientific study.
-DUSK - First-person episodic Boomer Shooter. Take on the role of Dusk Dude as he runs and guns his way through more than 30 levels of Pennsylvania backwoods, corrupted cityscapes, and places beyond the understanding of men. Fight your way through legions of cultists and nameless terrors, and finally, the cult's leader, Jakob. Somewhat moddable, and offers an arena-style multiplayer. Features a kickass thrash/industrial metal soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult. HD version also recently released (as a free add-on to the original game).
-Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - The third (and arguably best) iteration of the classic tactical stealth game, though almost totally separate from the stories of the first two. Play as Sam Fisher, a spy for the NSA as you use gadgets, cunning, and state-sponsored gymnastic skills to unravel the latest plot to push the world toward all-out war. Includes in-game video tutorials. Features co-op and versus modes (though I've never tried them).
-Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number - Top-down arcade-style mass murder simulator drenched in blood, neon colors, and '80s aesthetics. Play as a nameless protagonist (fan named "Jacket") receiving orders from mysterious phone calls, and bludgeon, slash, and shoot your way through buildings crawling with Russian Mafia, wearing rubber animal masks that give you different abilities. In the second game, the story expands as you play as several other characters in the aftermath of Jacket's actions, each with their own motivations, yet inexorably bound together. Features many synth-pop tracks from various artists, available on a neon magenta vinyl record. Go for the high score and show off to your friends how amazing and handsome you are at a critically-acclaimed indie game. Second game also comes with a short virtual comic book!
-FAItH: The Unholy Trinity - 8-bit style religious horror game with rotoscoped cutscenes, developed b Airdorf Games. Play as Fr. John Ward in 1987 Connecticut as your quest to right your wrongs and complete an interrupted exorcism spiral into madness and the true depths of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s. Features multiple endings, game modes, an arcade mode, and an in-game tutorial.
-Bloodrayne: Terminal Cut - A PC port of the cult-favorite third-person hack-and-slash. Play as Rayne, a dhampir hired by the mysterious Brimstone Society to handle situations too otherworldly or dangerous for mere humans; Which mostly involves slaughtering thousands of Nazis before they can get their hands on otherworldly artifacts. Includes a bunch of special codes that can be inputted to make the game easier, harder, or to activate "Juggy Mode." Game doesn't have any actual nudity but definitely enjoys its jiggle physics. One sequel (not as good IMO but also on Steam), a spinoff game, and also spawned at least 1 movie and some comic books IRL.
-CARRION - Metroidvania-style reverse horror game. Play as an unfathomable lump of runaway teeth, tentacles, and God-knows-what as you tear your way through Relith Labs, on a mission to escape and consume anyone who gets in your way. Evolve as the game progresses, growing larger and acquiring new abilities. Includes a small Christmas-themed free DLC that is essentially more of the same.
-Gone Home - Short, narrative-driven game about returning from Europe to your parents' new home, and discovering your sister is gone. Explore the house, discovering notes, clues, and secrets as a story of growing up and self-discovery unfolds. I don't want to spoil any of it, just take my word for it that it's a good game, and not violent or anything like other games on this list.
-Omen Exitio: Plague - Visual novel RPG where you take on the role of a doctor during an outbreak of a mysterious, deadly disease. Unravel the mystery bit by bit as you are hounded by madness and mysterious figures with ill intention, and make decisions that may alter the course of history.
-Hacknet - DOS-style programming game apparently inspired by hacking scenes in various movies. Delve into the world of professional hackers, complete jobs for clients, bypass security to break into servers, and discover the fate of your late benefactor, as his/her automated failsafe leads you toward the truth. "Labyrinths" DLC also available, and can be accessed and completed at any time before, during, or after the main game. In-game tutorial provided. Features an amazing techno soundtrack by various artists. Should not be confused with real-world cybersecurity activities - Those are much more difficult.
I have more, but this alone has taken me an hour to write. Let me know your thoughts.
Definitely been meaning to check out FAItH, and I've heard of Gone Home. If I remember what I saw in the trailer correctly, it sorta reminds me of that Edith Finch game.
As for that Plague game....do I get to actually be a plague doctor??????

[NovFut] Rowan Reyes Intro WIP

introduction to the main character of Nova Futurum. more information will be added over time.
Basics //
Rowan Reyes is 22 years old and is a masculine presenting non-binary person who uses they/them pronouns. They work as an apprentice within a cybernetic repair shop within the heart of Nova Futurum, which allows them to utilize their skills in technology in hacking/cracking without getting caught. They also are fiercely loyal to their friends and would do quite a bit for them. Rowan and their dad have a strained relationship, due to their dad being often absent in their childhood. Thanks to their cybernetic implants, their strength and physical abilities are enhanced and allow for covert operations.
Punk Life: Rowan goes by GH0$T when they're traversing the underground. They often travel with their gang of punks, who they have grown up with and are all vey close to each other. GH0$T didn't like hurting innocent people, but they had no qualms about stealing from the rich and powerful, often operating with a lot of a lack of self-preservation in order to save the operations.
Appearance: They are white with slightly tanned skin. They have short tousled blue hair that reaches their eyebrows, occasionally styled up in spikes. Due to their gymnastic style of traveling routes, they are lean with a slight build at around 5 feet 8 inches (173cm). They have a tattoo on their torso, along with having various cybernetic implants along their body. Their left arm from mid-bicep down was lost during a car accident when they were small. Thanks to the abundance of cybernetic implants and prosthetics in the market, they were able to get their arm prosthetic shortly after.

History //
Birth Story: Rowan's parents had a one-night stand and only stayed in contact once in a while through social media. A year or two after Rowan was born, their mother dumped them onto their father's doorstep. Their father has taken care of them ever since. They have never seen their mother after then, which is also when she blocked them on social media and (presumably) moved
Growing Up: Rowan and their dad lived in the slums of Nova Futurum, in a small apartment. The Reyes family struggled to pay the bills which caused their dad to take several jobs, working long hours. Rowan often was left alone as a child, in-between coming home from government mandated schooling until their dad came back around 21:00 after his work ended. Occasionally they hung out with their neighbors and the other close residents's children but they also spent long hours teaching themselves how to code and to crack into mainframes and databases.
Teenage Life, the Beginning of Rebellion: After the government released their mandated AI software that was required by law to be used by all citizens, Rowan learned a way to crack the ai and use it for their own purposes, not for government approved. When their neighborhood friends heard about this, they wanted Rowan to adjust their ai's too. Soon enough, Rowan had a side-business running while they were a teenager. They worked with their friends, who self classify as punks now, to promote their business and to expose the government. When not working or going to school, Rowan and the punks explored Nova Futurum. They wanted to know what the city was like and got to see first-hand what horrors the government covers up.

Relationships // (wip)
Father - While not always physically there, Rowan and their dad always have each other's backs. He doesn't always approve of Rowan's lifestyle but agrees that the government has gone way too far. He does his best to support his kid in any way that he can, without getting caught.
Henry - Rowan and Henry met while Rowan was on a exploratory run around Nova Futurum. Rowan pissed off a cop and led a long chase to shake off the cop and ran right into the bar Henry works at. They both were surprised to see each other, Rowan because they didn't expect anyone to working that late in the night, and Henry because of Rowan's sprint inside the bar. Rowan hid out in the bar and chatted with Henry in the meantime. They became good friends with Rowan and the punks declaring the bar as one of their homebases. [MORE]
