You've talked a lot about Shoto's Phosphor before. Why do you like it so much?

Why is Shoto's super move called Phosphor? All my brain could come up with was that it sounds like frost fire.

For the sake of this, I'm ignoring surface-level stuff like how gorgeous the power is or how cool I think the names of all the attacks are. I just want to cover the ability as is.

I like Phosphor because of how much is going on with it. To the point I think Hori had this planned for Shoto's character since day one. For starters, Phosphor is a shorthand for phosphorus, and that's where a lot of the meaning comes from. Phosphorus has the atomic number of fifteen on the periodic table, the same seat number as Shoto in the Class 1-A line-up. Then there is the fact that phosphorus comes in both red and white variants, which fits with Shoto's hair color. White phosphor reacts to the cold while red reacts to heat, aligning with his power. Phosphors can be used for both ignitors and flame retardants, specifically red phosphor, fitting with how they're being used against Dabi to both overpower him and cool him off simultaneously. Then there is the part where Shoto is using his own heart to combine the two, the very center of his being and either side of his body. He's basically making a chemical reaction, combining two distinct elements and changing them into something new. The Phosphor is something free from both parents and wholly his own, down to his very core. It fits really well as this middle ground between either halves of his power while still being unique. It's part of the reason why I like Phosphor so much for Shoto. It just clearly has a lot of thought put into it and how much it ties into his story.

Dabi Is A Hot Pocket

This is 100% spoilers.

I've thought for a long time that there was more to Dabi's quirk than simple fire, because so much of his damage to himself is on the surface. Something about his quirk has had to keep his body functional, even while it's roasting.

We've seen, now, that even while Dabi is burning his extremities to ash, he's somehow still protected his innards with ice, a trait that he either awakened or became aware of when he got hit with Phosphor. While Shoto's quirk is Hot and Cold, split between Left and Right, Dabi's is Hot and Cold, split between Inside and Out. Dabi's Fire side has settled in the skin and muscles of his body... while his Ice side appears to have settled in his BONES.

That's right. Scorching on the outside, with an Icy Core:

Dabi is a Hot Pocket.

How do Quirks work with twins? And what would happen if one twin absorbed the other? I remember you talking about that with Shoto before and it got me curious.

My theory with twins is that identical twins will have identical Quirks. If the target is fraternal, meaning they are not identical, they will have different Quirks like any other pair of siblings, barring any cases where they both happen to inherent the same parent's Quirk. Genetically, the former is very similar to one another while the latter is genetically distinct from one one another. As such, they should the same or different abilities depending on how they develop. Heck, maybe one that has a Quirk or is Quirkless. Otherwise, it depends on the kind of twin they are and the Quirks in question. Identicals may get some boost to it, like a greater power output or a greater resistance to the Quirk, but nothing out of the ordinary. With fraternal, the Quirk may just end up fusing into a new one, effectively acting as a Quirk Marriage between the two. Finally, they may affectively get two Quirks or at least a greatly expanded Quirk. Now, what this may look like will drastically differ depending on the Quirks involved. Since siblings Quirks are so similar, it may not even be readily apparent. So I doubt a lot of them would end up like Shoto with "Half Hot Half Cold". It may just seem like the Quirk evolved after being passed on.

I am here to inform you all that Touya does not have a usable ice quirk like Shoto. It something that activates when near death. It an explanation for why he isn’t dead and how survived despite burning to a crisp as a kid.

That ice? It’s keeping all his organs from burning baby it a defense mechanism or hysteric strength.

It also why Shoto move works at all since just needs ice inside his heart. But it does nothing to protect his limbs and clearly can’t stop his fire. I am thankful for Rei as that ice ain’t stopping the bomb Touya becoming.

I hope he will be saved.

Oh yeah, I’ve had this one idea for a Cookie for a while that I thought was neat

Basically, the idea was that you’d have this Cookie with two modes, fire and ice, and after their Skill activates and is finished (so basically I only have this idea for Ovenbreak), they switch to the other mode, and each mode has a specific Skill. Basically it’s like how Chess Choco and the Cookiemals switch places, but instead this one would change forms

I just think that’d be cool to see. Granted, I also imagine them to be some form of Legendary, but still
