Pan Flag Flower Crown!
Because Evil’s Always Late to Celebrate x’D

Seriously, tho: Happy Late Pride and First Harvest/August Eve, All! =D
As some of you know: I crochet in between writing fanfics and my original story; and I’m in and on-and-off-again relationship with cosplaying xD;;; where, currently, I’m thinking about dressing as Thranduil. I wanna crochet his crown (and his “dress” which, despite the insane amount of yarn it’s going to require, will probably be easier to figure out than his twisting crown of twigs... OTL) but...
Well, I thought why not try something a bit easier that’s in the same vein?
On the same vine? Sorry, I live on terrible puns.
Anyway.
Thus: Flower Crown! Admittedly (I think, at least), a perfectly acceptable crown for a Woodland King--perhaps, even, especially for these warmer months.
Anyway: I wanted to test out different yarns (acrylic v wool; I’ll try cotton later) with the flowers to see which came out better, which was easier to use, etc.
I think they all worked well (all because I actually used two different wools: worsted [pink] and roving [blue], if any of you are curious); tho, the wool--especially the roving one--got particularly heavy after washing (cold water and soap, of course) and took a while to dry out which had me worried for a bit because the whole thing kept sagging as I tried to wear it in between finishing and when I thought I was done with it (because I didn’t realize it/the band would S T R E T C H so much x.x with the waterlogged flowers; I panicked a bit there)
I learned a lot tho and I think I’ll be able to do Thranduil’s crown--eventually.
For now, tho, I do think this is something he’d also wear. Especially in summer--or his time of spring! Which, of course/again, I’m totally late for lmfao
Anyway; I’m curious: What do you All think?
I’d love to hear your thoughts!

For Lammas/Lughnasadh I made gingerbread men and cookies! According to the book I have, gingerbread came from Lammas tradition of the Corn King. They're not exquisite and not super tasty. But I'm proud that I tried to make something to celebrate the sabbath. And in honor of the Celtic God Lugh, who is a craftsman himself. 🧡 Lammas Blessings to all! 🧡🌞🍞 this is the first harvest of the year, take a moment to think of what you have grown thus far this year and now harvest and be thankful for.
🧡 I personally am thankful that I have grown more self love for myself. It's a daily battle, but I have made a conscious effort to realize and 'harvest' the confidence in myself in all things.🧡

Happy Lammas to those who celebrate!
This year I'd like to encourage you guys to get creative with your altars. Today's unconventional decoration is my stuffed loaf of bread! Lammas is heavily associated with bread, grains, and harvest, but I didn't have time to make my own bread today. A store bought slice makes an excellent cheap offering, especially with a little honey added for that extra sunny summery energy!

🌻 Making tea, crescents, and raspberry tarts for Lammas this evening. The harvest was a long haul this month, I was afraid it'd get alot more shakey. I stood firm and kept at it.
The best of the baked goods will be given as an offering. I dressed some candles and prepared each for the 3 days of full moon (sigils, homemade oil, moon water, the works) I’m taking full advantage rn. I've taken a break from my craft for quite some time to focus on work.
Inflation has been a mf, it's a full moon, so I kept it simple✨️🌕

My First Lammas/Lughnasadh as a Secular Witch
Goodness this is nerve wracking. I think that Lammas is a great sabbat to start with because it’s easy to honor in little ways and can be pretty casual, so there’s not a lot of pressure to go all out. Things I have done to celebrate so far:
All green clothing
Decorated my altar with herbs from the yard
Soaked up and appreciated the sunlight and warmth
Made blackberry pancakes (so good)
Things I plan to do before the day is over:
Reflective journaling about things I am grateful for
Read poetry about the first harvest and gratitude
Honor the sunset
How is everyone else celebrating today? Happy Lammas!
