They were talking about getting rid of the Munson trailer.

Wayne Munson wanted to keep it against the government, and Steve often walked through the trailer park and stood in distance looking at the government agents discussing with Wayne.

He never entered there again, but he had the image printed forever in his head. 

He remembered the cursed hole on the roof and he could feel the cold air and the smell coming out from it, and the landscape and the fear inside. 

He couldn’t breathe well when he was near, he felt a cold dust burning his lungs, despite the hot air from the hell dumped on the land. 

He felt the cold air pass through his chest like there was a hole in there, a hole that pierced him from side to side, matching the hole in the trailer roof. 

Eddie was on the other side. Wayne Munson kept searching for the boy, until Dustin gave him Eddie’s pick and told him part of the story. They never could try to reach Eddie, or his remains, or whatever. 

And now, those two holes, one matching another, with rough edges and darkness inside, were the only things he could think about. Both things were tearing him apart, and he was incapable of fighting the darkness coming out of the hole inside him.

Eddie was there, Eddie was gone forever. He kept the vest, hiding in his closet, avoiding to look at it but absolutely aware of its presence like a siren howling behind the doors.

Steve didn’t know why. He didn’t know how, he didn’t know what Eddie did to him, why he was so terribly desperate thinking that Eddie would never come back, that he would never talk to him again, he could never tell him… ask him… try to understand.

Eddie diggin’ a little path into his soul while they were together trying to figure out Vecna, and Upside Down, and things. Diggin’ with his long fingers a hot but delicate road to reach his heart, and he didn’t know… still.. what it meant. 

“I’m just starting this sucker, Harrington’s got her. Don’t ya, big boy?”

Don’t ya, big boy?

Eddie’s just delicate digging through his heart, but now there was only a big hole, of unspoken words, things not done, unexpressed feelings… 

Eddie was there, at the other side of the hole. And Steve only felt he was breathing dust.

I've been reading a lot of your stuff and I love your fics and takes, obviously love Legend and I wanted to ask your opinion about a theory I heard

Because of how time travel works and the cause of the split between the adult and child timelines being the cause of the Ocarina and the absence of The Hero's Spirit, people argue that the downfall timeline is placed a bit akwardly. However if you take things literally the branch of the downfall timeline, "The Hero is Defeated" is just slightly above the other branches in the official timelines.

So the theory goes that the Downfall Timeline is the original course of events and Time's adventure(specifically getting locked away until he was an 'adult') was the result of The Hero of Legend's wish at the end of A Link to The Past.

Some people, myself included, see this as plausible because young heroes have also been able to pull the Master Sword without getting knocked out

I thought it was interesting and you have some interesting takes and opinions so I thought I'd ask, sorry for the long ask, and any mistakes I made typing this

I am.....writing a fic where Time gets to realize that he split the timelines to create Legend's world, but currently speaking, all he knows is it was a version of him, and in world, I have no clue what explanation would make sense for him to have both died but also still be alive in another timeline, except that maybe there are alternate universes, but this makes so much freaking sense?!?!?!?!
