A very abbreviated rant about S3 E7 [spoiler]

Paz didn’t die, he ragequit.

Apart from the horrible decision to run after their enemies into unknown territory from a people that are supposed to be military savvy, I am seriously miffed about the show’s choice to kill off Paz to show the situation is  s e r i o u s  in a series where the main character has, without suffering any injury, been knocked around by a woolly rhino, fallen off the crawling fortress onto a rock, been swallowed by a dragon, crashed his space ship, flown the same space ship when it was held together by driftwood at light speed, and even surfed atop a tie fighter. 

No, it was never serious and I don’t appreciate the change from silly space spaghetti western to drama. 

Paz should have jetpack-tackled those latex fetishists off the cliff or fried them with the flamethrower he never got to use and then we could all have laughed at him scratching his head because somehow he, the mobile mountain of beskar, the least inconspicuous of all the Mandos in the history of Mandalore, is now the one who now has to infiltrate the Imperial base.

Thank goodness fanfiction exists.

Sometimes, your girlfriend dumps you in Switzerland.

If you’re lucky, it’ll be right before Christmas.

To be specific, it just might be the day before you were set to go skiing in the Swiss Alps. As a Christmas present from said girlfriend.

And maybe Nicole didn’t expect me to still go skiing in the Swiss Alps without her, but you know what? You only live once. I will never in my life be able to afford a day like this again.

And sure, it’s possible I’ve never touched a pair of skis before, but I’m an adaptable person.

The truth is Namor saw Shuri as a beautiful, brilliant, capable, and emotionally vulnerable royal.

Now I have no idea how that would have played out if it wasn't for Ramonda's fear of losing her last child, but in that decision she sentenced herself to death and led to more of Shuri's isolation. Namor wanted to make Shuri his partner by any means necessary, and it worked in all the worst ways.

Namor was never going to kill her. He had his chance to kill her on the beach. His people spared the highest officials and strongest warriors on the ship! He said it himself, it was never about annihilation.

Anyways the parallels kill me. First of all, how long were they watching Wakanda for? To see the technological advancements and know that Shuri was now heading them. Coming out the water like a bond girl, showing reverence to Wakanda, impressed that Shuri can tell he is wearing vibranium especially in the dark of night?? And then giving her his number 🤣

Costume design made Shuri's funeral garb look so close to a damn bridal outfit with that veil. There was no reason for that.... UNLESS THERE WAS.

Ok, fast forward to the bridge which was clearly just a show of force. Theater!! And Shuri takes the bait. It was all very "I saw yours, and I'll show you mine" and she responds with the same reverence. He quite honestly awoke the believer in her. Their relationship, these events, led to her finding a way back to Wakandan traditions, back to the Black Panther. It's absolute madness.
