Gonna do Rising Shards for this! As I've said before, the main characters are part of a race of people called Cani, who get fangs and powers and maybe some other animal traits (Zeta for instance has a cat-like tail). A lot of Cani health relates to their fangs, which have energy concentrated in them, and their non-human abilities. All Cani possess some form of shapeshifting, which can help with healing or other medical procedures like gender transition. Some Cani are much more animalistic, and precautions are needed when they go feral and climb up walls and stuff (pool hooks are common in any room with a high ceiling to swat down feral Cani.

Cani are also capable of entering the void, which is basically a collection of failed dimensions. Great strides have been taken to ensure Cani safety while in the void since its discovery (or rather since the Cani's arrival from the void into the stable home dimension) especially for young Cani. For example, one of the highest paying, highest stakes, and highest stress jobs is monitoring Cani traversing the void. If a young Cani sneaks away from the group and falls off a cliff, someone at the safety facility pulls them out and they land basically in a room full of airbags, possibly getting injured, but avoiding sever injury or death. Then the Cani in question has to stay for a long while in the medical facility while any injuries heal. While it may sound absurd to try and protect so many people in nearly impossible to catch scenarios, the teams at Cani facilities prides themselves on their incredibly high lives saved records.

You have to call and contact and petition your local officials, you need to put up flyers where your actual community will see, you need to get aquatinted with local resources so you know where to direct people who need them.

You have to actually do activism irl. That is how you make change happen.

Any time you spend arguing with online users about activism and not doing enough could be spent actually making a difference in your literal real life community, or helping the people who do.
