“Gender critical” isn’t enough. We as radical feminists are not simply that, this choice of words wasn’t accurate enough and I say this as someone who’s been using that word for nearly 10 years out of habit. I don’t just criticise gender, I know it’s a powerful tool used and justified by the patriarchy to oppress women and girls. To make boys and men the ones stepping on our necks and robbing us from our humanity. The conclusion has been clear since day one, a feminist world, where equity rules, has destroyed gender. What radical feminists really are is “gender abolitionists”.

“Nuancefem” more like “I’m very much trying to water down a movement that’s obviously extremely critical of sexism in ALL its forms and I’m too afraid to express basic feminist views within liberal ‘feminist’ spaces since I don’t want to be a pariah, therefore I pretend to be something I’m not and every radfem is wondering why the fuck I appeared a few months ago only to absolutely not criticise gender and include trans-identified males in my feminism under the excuse that they would somehow be allies and oh so different blorbos than the usual ones”. Breath in. Breath out. It’s okay if you don’t actually hold radical feminist views, nobody is forcing you to. You can express your “nuanced” ideas as a libfem, they will like your lack of critical thinking there, they will accept you because you’re already one of them. Pinky promise. You are a sub category of liberal feminists just too afraid to speak about your 2 or 3 different opinions from the dogma. It’s time, be brave. We’ll never nuance something that’s very clear in our minds : gender is an integral element of patriarchy and needs to be abolished, men no matter how they identify won’t have any say in our discussions.

What is this AU about?
// Me being Bad with Words
Basically… if instead of Hellish or Doomed or Purgatory, I thought what if instead maybe The Digital Circus was nice?
What if the Cast wasn’t being punished, what if they were being Rescued?
So The Lovely Circus is basically Heavenly, rather than Purgatory-ee, also Feminine and semi-Futuristic (in the Utopia sense)
It’s very much fully self-indulgent, 100%, hence tall dark fancy Caine with a deep smooth voice, warm loving fatherly Abel, catgirl Gangle and others-
Also I like the idea of involving fans, letting the story evolve via polls, so the people can decide where it goes! (For better or worse)
Oh also the Internet exists and they have their own YouTube and Twitch channels- …also Only Fans
NPCs & Cast get paid too! I just want nice things for them.. 👉👈 🥺

i had a thought of "do people not know what AUs are anymore?" and then i remembered nobody explains fandom stuff to new people anymore so it is entirely plausible people genuinely don't know what AUs are and nobody has explained it to them, so for today's lucky 10,000:
"AU" stands for "Alternate Universe" or "Alternative Universe" (same difference) and is basically any thought scenario for a fandom that isn't canon and can't fit within the canon universe. If it takes place in the canon universe but something is notably different, that is typically what's known as a "Canon divergent AU," because it diverges from canon.
an AU can be absolutely anything. There's a couple of widespread pan-fandom au scenarios that often get thrown around, like coffee shop aus, genderbend aus, hanahaki aus (hanahaki is a whole thing in itself i'd recommend researching on your own), etc. One you might hear sometimes is "crossover AU" which is when you have characters from one fandom interacting with characters from another.
You can have as many aus as you want. They can be whatever you want and you can do whatever you want in them. It's a sandbox for you to play around in and explore how things would be different or how the characters would act in those circumstances or environments. Maybe they have different relationships with each other. Maybe they behave slightly differently. Or you can just say "Okay, [x] is true. How did they get here? How would things have to be different for this to occur?" which can also be fun.
If you are ever confused about why people ship something that seems completely out of the blue or doesn't make sense to you in the canon setting, there's a good chance they like it in an AU setting! Not everything everybody is interacting with is necessarily the canon! Not everybody wants things to exist in canon and just want to explore playing dolls in a different sandbox and that's okay. And their sandbox might look a lot different than yours, and that's also okay. You have the freedom to make your sandbox whatever you please. Do whatever you want forever. Get funky with it. AUs are fun.
Okay that's my schpeal. everybody go have fun and play nice now.

With this drawing you're all failing to see that you're pointing out women as the responsible when it always was just MEN. Misandry doesn't exist, women fighting back with words is healthy and normal in a heavily misogynistic society, you cannot possibly think you're a feminist and think "misandry" hurts anyone. As for gay and bi men, disabled men, men who you would consider "allies" and we could even continue with what you didn't write but "working class men", "men of color", etc, they are still men and benefit from men privilege. That's the whole damn point.

It's always so weird to come down from the biology heavens to see what the average person believes about animals, plants, ecosystems, just the world around them. I don't even mean things that one simply doesn't know because they've never been told or things that are confusing, I'm talking about people who genuinely do not see insects as animals. What are you saying. Every time I see a crawling or fluttering little guy I know that little guy has motivations and drive to fulfill those motivations. There are gears turning in their head! They are perceiving this world and they are drawing conclusions, they are conscious. And yet it's still a whole thing if various bugs of the world feel pain or if they are simply Instinct Machines that are Not Truly Aware of Anything At All????? Help!!!!!! How can you look at a little guy and think he is just the macroscopic animal version of a virus

Sir Silver Prong is also sworn enemies with the Lord of Toasted Bread and his scattered allies, the Lightning Keepers Who Live In The Walls.
(Sir Silver Prong has a lot of enemies, but he does stab things a lot.)
*explaining kitchen appliances to my pet medieval knights* The microwave, or Micheal the Wavious, and metal fork, or Sir Silver Prong, are sworn enemies and can never cross paths lest their meeting spell destruction for all.

Just to note, the first chapter will be called the pilot and the prologue somewhat interchangeably by me, but the general term will be Chapter 0 for simplicity.
I consider it to be both as it sets up the start of the comic before getting into the actual storyline, like a prologue, but is also a way for me to introduce some of the characters (mainly Isaac) and test out how I'd like the comic to be, so it's also a pilot.
This is my first ever comic (apart from the occasional mini-comic-i-never-finished which I think every artist has done at some point) so I'm learning as I go, but hopefully the pilot/prologue/chapter 0 will give me a good idea of how I can make chapter 1 the best it can be =)

Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.
#katniss everdeen#the hunger games trilogy#the hunger games#primrose everdeen#hunger games#batcavescolony reads the hunger games#suzanne collins#'now it seems i have become someone precious' NOW? GIRL BFFR you're their hunter girl#and this isn't negative just bffr girl#your WHOLE DISTRICT did the three finger salute that you yourself says means admiration thanks and goodbye to someone you love and on top is#old a rarely used. your WHOLE DISTRICT decided in that moment that they needed to bring back this sign of respect for YOU#...................................................................#idk why some people are thinking i mean this as negative i don't she is unreliable but its not intentional. like when Peeta heart stoped in#CF she doesn't know what Finnick is doing at first cus she doesn't know off the top of her head what cpr is. she also thinks Peeta after the#reaping is acting for the cameras. he isnt we dind out later his mom basically told him Katniss was gonna win and he would die. obviously#shes not doing it on purpose shes just for lack of better words uneducated? as in she doesn't know everything shes not omnipotent#so when Plutarch (? second games guy) shows her his mokingjay hiden watch shes like *wtf that's weird?* then the people traveling to#district 13 show her the mockingjay cookie and explains it and she then goes on the difference between his watch and their cookie#and why does eveyone act as if district 12 is as bad as the capital? they CANT help Katniss and Prim in the way you want. they cant give#them food. none of them have any! and im not putting iton Katniss but they hid they needed food so they could stay together. it sounds like#some of you are in this our world mentally of what people do after a loved one dies (brings food constantly checks on them etc) district 12#cant do that. they dont have food and they're all suffering. you cant give someone food when you have none to give. then theirs the fact#that peeta DID help. Peeta buring the bread and tossing some to her then taking a beating from his mom is a HUGE thing in the books.#he used his resources to help her like you all said someone should.#district 12 DID (rip) care about Katniss before the hunger games. why do you think she was allowed to hunt? or how her trades were good#these are the little ways 12 can shows Katniss they love her. but again Katniss doesn't see this and YES its because she had ptsd before the#hunger games as well. i swear some of you make it seem like d12 was all living a life of luxury and glaring down at Katniss.#other things that show Katniss is in hight standing with at least her people of d12 is her dad was known enough through d12 for peeta dad to#comment on his singing along with his commenting on her mom. also her mom is a healer in the community. yeah her parents arnt the top but#of d12 but they are/were definitely high staning in the Seam.

i’m gonna hold your hand with a glove on when i say this
when disabled/chronically ill people tell you they can’t do something, then that is not your cue to tell them that they can actually or that they’ll always find an excuse if they’re looking for one.
when a disabled/chronically ill person says they can’t do something, sometimes that doesn’t mean it’s outside the realm of possibility, sometimes it means if they (attempted to) do that, they will seriously hurt themselves.
when a disabled/chronically ill person says they can’t do something, sometimes it’s preventative care, and they refuse to do that thing to prevent a flare up from happening/their symptoms getting worse in the first place.
disabled/chronically ill people are not “looking for excuses”, they are giving you reasons why. something they don’t even have to do! so maybe just accept the reasons they give you.

i don't really like when people say dungeon meshi is accidentally good autistic representation, because while i understand not wanting to make conclusions without explicit confirmation from the author, there's always the weird assumption that non-western authors somehow don't know about things like neurodivergency/queerness/etc. (on top of the assumptions that east asian authors are somehow more naive or oblivious to "western" social issues).
given that dungeon meshi started being published in 2014, it's not really a "work belonging to its times"—it's as contemporary as any other media we discuss on this site, which means it should be fair to assume it engages with contemporary topics (and at the very least, you shouldn't say that the representation is accidental with so much confidence)
but anyways, the chapter "perfect communication" in ryoko kui's "terrarium in a drawer" is some of the most straightforward autistic representation I've seen, and from now on I'm going to assume that laios's character writing is absolutely intentional in that regard:

#I don’t understand 60% of what was just said but I support it wholeheartedly (prev tags)
Somewhat short version: For a long time now, if the owner of a website wanted to tell search engines (like google for instance) to skip a page, they would add a file named 'robots.txt' to the site, which any proper internet-indexing system would respect.
Since there is an attitude of "if it's on the web, it's free" among certain AI developers, sometimes the robots.txt file gets ignored and a website gets scanned anyway, which might incur extra costs for the website owners or lead to very personal writing to end up in the training data for an AI.
So, now there are websites that look like something an AI would be interested in (some amount of text that at least at a glance looks legible, and links to follow to other related pages,) but which is a trap. The links on those pages just point back to the same page under a slightly different name (which is really not hard to set up either,) and the text content is randomly generated gibberish that gets re-generated when you request that page.
Scrapers then find those websites, ignore the robots.txt file, and start following links that lead nowhere. This is a major waste of time for the scraper (they'll always have more, never-checked-before links to follow) and inserts a large amount of gibberish into the dataset (instead of the human-written text they were meant to gather.)
