finally got enough ideas formed for these characters whose basic things have been sloshing around in my brain for a couple months to try and design them enough to introduce them today. also i wanted to design another lion. this is dominic and his daughter carmen! i wanted art of them interacting in this post but ive spent like five hours staring at my laptop so expect it some other time lol

little fun tag i want to add onto this, it occurred to me while deciding on carmens species and i talked abt it w averi cuz it was an interesting concept to me; hybrid animals are named using the first half of the fathers name, but carmen has two biological fathers ('fathers' only technically since only ones her DAD and present in her life), so out of her choices she calls herself a liger instead of a tigon bcuz her tiger parent wasnt involved and it would be confusing to random ppl if her dad and her didnt use it lol. the times she did meet him were probably like chance run-ins dominic had with him while she was there

1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

i like. everything about him 😭 his design, his voice, his personality... he's just great imo! i think i have a thing about cocky and/or violent and/or cold characters, seeing as some of my other favourites are Rocket from GOTG and Rico from Madagascar lmao

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

oooh!! that's hard to say, but i do love looking at a character's dynamics with other characters, so his relationships in general! for example i like the hint that he's called tamka and nduli "fish-for-brains" before, also the fact that he lets janja jump on his back when he's scared of sumu and doesn't kill him for it hfhdjdj. character dynamics are so important to me and kiburi is no exception. i love love love overanalysing him, and this isn't even mentioning how interesting his relationship with makuu is! :}

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?

OOO OOO OOOH. looks through my thousands of crossovers AUs. um. due to my endless special interest in it, i'd say Warrior Cats because it'd be funny and i want to see him as an angry lil cat >:]

although!! shoutout to your Alice In Wonderland crossover au because i love him in that 😭😭

man, i ain't joking i have 9 different kiburi playlists i am so fucking normal /silly

i tend to pretend that any song i want fits my fav characters so there's a lot i could say hfgdjjd BUT i will say Brutus by The Buttress reminds me of his hated for makuu a lot

also, Oh No! by MARINA as i've literally seen an edit of that song with him before :33 i definitely do not have a marina song playlist for kiburi nopeee definitely notttt /silly

When did you start liking the character?

i liked and hyperfixated on janja first, then i started to look at his relationships and found his frenemieship with kiburi interesting! before i know it, i'm analysing kiburi's character and finding that he has a lot of hc and au potential!! :] funnily enough, i started liking his character even more when i started thinking about his float too!! it was kinda funny- nduli became a new hyperfixation character first, and then the more i thought about kiburi, the more i focused on his character and the potential of him. i have time blindness n stuff so i can't say exactly when i started hyperfixating on him so much, but your first outlander posts definitely fueled the fire 😭 /vpos

• You and your yan boyfriend have been in a relationship for quite some time that you are now the ✨unofficial married couple ✨ (Yan bf has proposed many times but you have rejected it because you were to focused on career and pushed wedding ideas for later)

• Your elder sister and her husband has gone to a 2 days weekend trip leaving your 2 years old nephew to you and yan for babysitting.

• You love kids and were having blast with your nephew. After all you are his favourite aunt but your Yan bf is sulking in the corner due to lack of attention you are giving to him. Sometimes you wonder who is a toddler, your nephew or your boyfriend?

• your nephew was sitting in your lap and you both were watching The lion King when your bf sat beside you on couch and took the toddler from your lap to his thinking " I am jealous. This dude is spending too much time with my girl". You looked at him with a confused look while he just gave you a sheepish smile saying "just bonding with my future nephew". Hehe.

• You were saying things like "you are so cute my cutie pie, my sunshine and attacking your nephew with kisses while the toddler just laughs joyously. Meanwhile your boyfriend watching this sighs thinking "I am more cute and good looking than him and yet she is attacking him with kisses instead of me? Such a shame to my handsome face. "Don't worry darling, we will visit him soon" your boyfriend says trying to cheer you up when no way in hell he wants to meet him again atleast for a few months.

"Don't act all innocent. I know you have been sulking and jealous all the weekend. I can't believe you were jealous of a 2 year old that too my own nephew" you said smiling a bit thinking how funny is this.

"Well what can I say I just get jealous of whatever or whoever caughts your attention" he said feeling a bit embarassed that he got caught. He thought he hid his jealousy well. But seems like he can't hide anything from you.

"Hey (y/bf/n). Let's get married and have a baby of our own" you said smiling.

"Is that finally a yes, y/n?" He said while his heart skipping beats and his palms getting covered with sweat for your answer after so many rejections from you.

"Yes. I am damn serious. Spending time with you two as a family has made me realise how badly I want a family of my own. I was too focused on my career neglecting you and our future life. I am sorry." You said with all seriousness.

Yan bf only smiles like a crazy and kisses you passionately. He holds your waist spinning you doing a princess twirl making you giggle. He is the happiest man on earth today! Maybe his nephew is not that bad after all he thought. And yes it's official now your nephew is definitely gonna be the ring bearer in your wedding.

You snap out of your daze, blinking your eyes to adjust to the sight in front of you. Suo sits in front of you slowly lowering a cup of tea from his lips. He smiles patiently at you, his hands folded on his lap awaiting your response. You can feel a light blush creeping upon your own cheeks at the notion you had been caught staring at him for the longest time. You bite your lip as your eyes shift to your own tea cup in front of you.

“I-I was just curious about your eyepatch…” You stutter out feeling the pressure of his gaze on you. As the words leave your lips your regret rises as Suo’s smile grows a little wider. “Are you curious about what’s under it?” Suo grins lightly, a teasing glint reflected in his eye. You could only glance momentarily at him before setting your eyes on your steaming cup, nodding slowly at his words.

“Are you sure you want to see what’s under it?" Suo says teasingly as his fingers lightly brush over his leather eyepatch. “You might not be able to handle what you see…” He says, causing you to bring your attention back to his handsome face. Oh how you wish you didn’t as your eyes immediately meet his maroon eye causing you to choke on your breath. Satisfied as your eyes meet his, he lets out a tiny laugh. Well now that cat is out of the bag you stiffly nod, unconsciously leaning towards him. “ I still want to see…” You affirmed. Despite how your curiosity might get the cat killed. Only for a brief moment do you see his eye widen slightly before returning. However, the smile still remains on his face. He nods once as confirmation, as he slightly leans towards you.

You gather up your courage to lean forward and raise your hand slowly inching towards his face. You gulp at the intense eye gaze he settles on you, as if he's a lion waiting to pounce. As your hand is leveled with his face, your fingers lightly brush against the smooth leather of his eyepatch. However, before you could grasp the string tying it, Suo brings his own hand to cover yours-leading it until it rests upon his cheek. His deep maroon eye challenges you.

"Go on, I don't bite..."
