You ever share something online thinking it's just a fun little thought experiment and you do everything in your power to make sure everyone reading the post knows that it's not official, even watermarking what you make so people will come back to you, but then it keeps getting passed around and mistaken as official info so now it is the bane of your existence, but you don’t want to delete it both because the internet is forever so your post may as well stay to ensure there's always a reference to it being a thought experiment and you poured hours in that thought experiment and even if the numbers are probably a bit wrong and a little goofy you put too much effort into it to just remove it? Just me? Can't be just me.
#I am never sharing a data visualization ever ever again#Theia's crazy height chart strikes again#Should I have added ugly disclaimers on the image?#I'm tired#I'm terrified of trying to revisit it now too#Yes I am talking about my Tellius height chart#I should just never go on Twitter ever again#That site just drains my mental energy and mental health even disregarding my fanon calculations sometimes getting posted as canon

🍫 Cheese or chocolate?
Definitely chocolate, I got a sweet tooth that will never extinguish :3
✨ Do you have any nicknames?
My parents and family call me a shortened version of my name and my internet nickname was just Nerd cause I never really had online friends but since joining Tumblr I’ve now become Anii :]
🎵 Last song you listened to?
Nangs by Tame Impala! Not my favorite song of theirs but I was in a mood for it
✏️ Have you ever written fanfiction?
Uh I made 2 so far and one of them I didn’t even finish because the character it was focused on confirmed her death and I no longer had motivation due to sadness (qJaiden 😭) and I haven’t had time to make more yet but once I’m done with exams, I’ll try to either continue or make something new!
😏 Are you on discord?
No sadly, I really want to though!
💛 Do you have any piercings?
Like Rosey, my ears are pierced :D
🐰 What do you think says the most about a person?
For me it’s how I see them acting with friends because a friend group and a person’s role in it tells me a lot about their interests, what they lean towards, and just in general what kind of person they are. Sometimes it isn’t really accurate but I’m not really good at reading people 😅
🍪 If you were a cookie, what kind would you be?
Euuhhhh… I feel like I would be a ginger cookie but I’m not sure

AURGHH I LOVE BOTH BUT IF I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE AS A PET IT WOULD BE DOG, I’M SORRY CATS, I LOVE YOU TOO
🎧 Headphones or earbuds?
Earbuds for the same exact reason as Rosey (it’s a struggle for the visually-impaired 😭)
🌼 What’s the last thing you said out loud?
“Highlights (now the rest in Ukrainian ->) are just the most important or exciting clips.” (I know this is weird but me and my dad were searching for the replay of round 2 of a tennis tournament we watch and he said to click on the choice that said ‘tennis highlights’ and he doesn’t know what highlights are so I just explained it and them left him to find it by himself cause I had to unpack)
🙃 What’s a weird fact that you know?
There is a rock or sculpture on Mars that resembles a human face.
🦉 Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Night owl definitely! It’s much as I complain about lack of sleep, I constantly can’t and then I just stay up and then wake up with back pain 👍

Nerd. Alien. Cartoon.
👖 Jeans or sweatpants?
Sweats are so comfy, I love jeans too but sweats are my thing you know

☕ Coffee or tea?
Tea tea tea tea tea tea tea tea tea tea :3
🦖 Favorite extinct animal?

Elasmotherium sibiricum, or a Siberian unicorn 🦄

Single pringle who is not yet ready for a relationship <3
🌿 Describe your favorite outfit.
Umm probably jean jacket or those long coats with baggy jeans… I don’t really know, I don’t have good fashion sense

Runners Part 7
B-111 was glad. K-3NTs initial reluctance had scared him. He’d worried that K-3NT might even offend the armorer. He would have been embarrassed if his acolyte had come to blows with his friend, mostly because he knew there wasn’t a single chance K-3NT would survive an altercation with the armorer. And he was really starting to like K-3NT, in spite of his… weirdness. It was nice to think of him being around, another friendly droid who wasn’t trying to blast him. Also, he couldn’t deny the tactical advantage to having an Imperial droid on his team. It would mean much fewer tense moments trying to slice doors if K-3NT could simply open them with his scomp link, for one thing.
The droids followed the armorer to where she had left her speeder. B-111 noted the way K-3NT seemed unbalanced and even disoriented when they went along main concourses. He felt sorry for K-3NT, but there was nothing else for it. It was impossible to get around Coruscant without being swarmed by organics in this way. Besides, it was good for him. He would learn to deal with it. B-111 was pretty sure he would, anyway.
The armorer's workshop wasn’t very close to The Scomp Port. But as she flew her open top speeder very quickly and aggressively, it wasn’t long before they got there. B-111 was used to the way she drove by now, but along the way K-3NT needed several reassurances. He kept waving his hands and yelling about predicted odds of failure; making B-111 grateful, and not for the first time, that he’d been programed with a tad more instinct than the cold data analysis the KX series seemed to rely on.
The armorer had a relatively nice establishment, with a front room for meeting clientele, a sizable work room for her forge, and an attached apartment. As it was on the 70th level of a structure, it even had a nice balcony overlooking the city.
She took them straight into the work room, where a traditional Mandalorian forge was kept lit constantly. Helmets, bracers, greaves, cuirasses, pauldrons, boots, and gauntlets of exceptional craftsmanship hung around the walls, all pieces the armorer had been commissioned to make. They were almost entirely made of durasteel, as beskar was rare, and ludicrously expensive. And anyway, the armorer refused to forge beskar armor for anyone who was not of her Mandalorian creed. Even though these pieces all were clearly made with the skill of a Mandalorian, none of them had a visual look that would fool another Mandalorian. B-111 subconsciously tapped the side of his helmet as he thought this. Every rule had exceptions.
She casually tossed the ingot he’d given her into a pan and moved it over the forges burning jets. It began to melt in an unnervingly short time. B-111 didn’t like watching metal liquefy like that, it brought back old memories.
The armorer moved over to K-3NT and roughly turned him by the shoulder to get a closer look at his damaged plating. “What are you doing?” B-111 hadn’t missed the fact that despite speaking in Mando’a back at The Scomp Port, K-3NT had switched back to galactic basic. The armorer understood basic perfectly, of course, but as a rule she never spoke it. B-111 hadn’t even ever heard her speak in shyriiwook before, only in Mando’a. He knew she would not be bothered by conversing half in basic, she did this with the majority of her customers, but again, B-111 worried a little. She was always even-tempered with him, even when she probably shouldn't have been, but K-3NT did not share the same history with her that he did.
“I need to know what shape I am forging,” she said, “be still.”
K-3NT complied, locking his posture. He spun his head on its axis to look at the metal in the pan. “What… is that material?”
“Ask 111 for that answer,” the armorer said. K-3NT spun his head back towards B-111.
“Ah, its a seeeecret!” B-111 said. K-3NT wordlessly continued to stare at B-111; a trick that had been used on him more than a few times in the last day and a half. B-111 sighed. “Has anyone ever told you you are no fun?” K-3NT kept staring. “It’s a cortosis alloy. 77% Durasteel. With 23% cortosis, it will conduct blaster bolts rather than absorb them.”
K-3NTs optical sensors realigned to point at B-111s chest plate. “Is that… what your armor is made from?”
B-111 clanged his knuckles against the armor in question. “Sure is!”
K-3NT looked at the armorer, who had walked back over to the forge and pulled the pan back off the jets. “Can you actually just make it out of something else?”
“Do not be petty, K-3NT,” the armorer said with quiet authority. “This metal has saved 111 many times since I’ve forged his armor. It will serve you better than many other metals would.” K-3NT crossed his arms and sulked. The armorer looked at the flowing metal in the pan. “There is more here than needed for your pauldron, I shall also forge you a bracer.”
“Oh! That’s a good idea, actually,” said B-111. “He needs a control interface.” The armorer bowed slightly in reply. B-111 turned to leave the work room, but stopped when he saw that K-3NT wasn’t moving. He beckoned with a wave of his hand. K-3NT looked over at B-111 with posture that suggested he didn’t particularly plan on following B-111. “Come on, Enty,” He said, in basic, “let’s let my friend work in peace.” The armorer wouldn’t say it aloud, but she did much better work with fewer distractions around. And, though B-111 still wasn’t really sure the full explanation, he was pretty sure there was something private, perhaps even religious about the process for her.
B-111 and K-3NT stepped into the front room to wait. B-111 was still, but K-3NT was tapping his foot next to him. “Whats the matter, Enty?”
K-3NT stopped tapping suddenly, as if he’d been doing it subconsciously and only noticed just then. “Nothing the matter, One-eleven.”
“I’m not sure you mean that…”
“Oh, not sure, are you? Well rest assured, I am sure.”
Silence fell between them. It was less than thirty seconds before B-111 heard K-3NT begin tapping again.
“You… are upset about your pauldron?”
“Who ever heard of an upset droid. Ridiculous. I am far beyond such low level functions.”
“Enty, you do understand that you are a horrible liar, right?”
“But of course, honesty is part of my programming. A sophisticated entity like myself, serving a sophisticated system like the Empire, as I was, has no need for vocal subterfuge.”
“You’re walking yourself in circles…”
“Oh, OH! Circles? Walking myself, am I?”
“Enty, can you please just speak directly?”
K-3NT slowly rotated his head to face B-111. B-111 looked up at the droid, head tilted to one side slightly. “I… serve… the Empire. One-eleven, that… that hasn’t stopped being fact.”
B-111 was taken aback. He leaned his head down, bracing his chin with one hand. He stood silently for a moment and then looked back at K-3NT.
“Do you… want to?”
K-3NT threw his hands up. “No!” He stomped around the room in a tight circle for a moment, “NO! Nooo. No. No no no no no no NO!” On the last iteration he actually clacked his fist against the side of his head. He twirled on a heel to face B-111, holding his hands out, fingers spread as if to plead. “One-Eleven, I’ve been thinking about that question since you switched me back on and I’ve realized I do not want to do that.”
B-111 shugged. “So don’t.”
K-3NT actually screamed at him, but quietly. “I am a KX Enforcer Droid! I am compelled to do anything I’m told by any Imperial navy officer ranking Lieutenant or higher!”
“And I am a b-1 series battle droid, what’s your point? You know, the last time I saw Nute Gunray back during the Clone wars I hit him in the face? I actually did that. You can learn, I’m sure of it.”
“That doesn’t-! …Who’s ‘Newt Gunray’?”
“Eh, doesn’t matter, he didn’t end up being very important. I think he got cut in half by your old boss, if t'e rumors are true.”
“My "old boss' was a shuttle pilot.”
“Bosses boss then, or… no wait, like your bosses bosses boss to an order of magnitude, probably.”
“What? Who?” “Look, we’re getting distracted. What makes you think you still serve the Empire?”
K-3NT clenched his fists and rocked back and forth for a moment. He shook his fist at B-111. He lowered his hands. He stopped rocking back and forth. His head tilted forwards, looking towards the floor. “One-eleven. It’s my programming. I’m compelled.”
“Enty, you are a battle droid, your programming is for combat, correct?”
K-3NT looked up. “Other than the fact that I am an enforcer droid, which I have already told you, that is correct.”
“So why didn’t you respond on Cymoon 1 when we were under attack? If your programming is for combat, then…?”
K-3NT looked up, past B-111, into empty space. He stood there silently for long enough that B-111 started thinking he’d finally pushed too far. K-3NT leaned forwards and cradled his head in his hands.
“...Enty? Are you… alright?”
K-3NT straightened, drawing his blaster rifle and holding it in front of him. He looked down at it in his arms for a moment and then clipped it back to his back. “I’m… not going to think about it for the time being, One-eleven.”
B-111 looked at K-3NT silently, nodding. Many suggestions of advice came to B-111s mind, but he held his peace. He wanted to help K-3NT with this struggle. He’d been through it himself, years ago. But he would let it play out. K-3NT would get there on his own. And he’d be better for it.

Stupid stuff I'd like to draw or animate : a big list
So, back in 2019, I fell in love with a notes app called ColorNote. It's not particularly fancy, It just lets me set up lists, calendar events, I can organize my notes by color, and synchronize my data on my account. So I've been writing a lot on this app, from worldbuilding notes to spontaneous drawing ideas, ranging from quick descriptions to dialogue bits ; that list keeps growing to this day, and I've barely ticked off a quarter of it. So, for the first things I'd post here, I thought it'd be neat to show that list to the public for extra motivation. Here goes...
STUFF I'D LIKE TO DRAW
topless OC asking their tired roommate if they've seen their bra
character with lots of body hair!
me, casually drawing in a hot summer night, immediately engaging a merciless fight against a overly-friendly mosquito
multiple people wearing skirts of various lengths, lined up for a mugshot
my OCs reacting to the mistletoe tradition
caffeiiiine
a character based on the word 'toxic' : a mysterious person surrounded in green smoke or bubbles. this is the only thing I've ticked off; an OC is born from this silly prompt. I'll definitely show her someday!
"If I could breathe fire, I'd have burned down several buildings by now."
"STOP EVERYTHING AND TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF" "Sure. You look like you could use some rest too!" "...*wheeeeeeeeze*"
Me or any perfectionnist OC : "If it doesn't look perfect on the first try, I'm throwing everything away and I'll never do anything ever again." Brain, trying to make sense of this : "...bitch???"
an OC taking a biiiig stretch, forgetting they're wearing wired headphones. The wires fall on their head.
my "Green Hair Squad" (a bunch of OCs who accidentally all have green hair and are friends) speedshopping for New Year's Eve
a muscular, feminine man, stepping out of his hot pink limousine, looking charismatic and not in the mood for any of your bullshit
"We could've had something great, but BAM, *slams table* fucking CAPITALISM"
Ellen drawing little roses on Casee (both part of the Green Hair Squad) with colored makeup pencils. Casee can't stop giggling.
an OC solely showing a grand total of two expressions: no smile, or a l l s m i l e s. No in-betweens.
draw more characters with compatible vibes, vibing together (I already have plenty of ideas)
the Bubbly Sapphic and the Grumpy Sapphic characters wearing eachother's clothes
two characters sharing a meal/smoke under a tree on a rainy day (inspired by a pleasant moment with a friend)
three characters taking a nap
"I am perfectly capable of looking friendly without smiling."
"FUCK YOUR BELL PEPPERS" : a silly idea to add to my crappy portfolio
my OCs at their lowest point in terms of motivation (gee, reminds me of someone)
"I HATE DECEMBER" an OC complaining about december, but cheered up by their friends
STUFF I'D LIKE TO ANIMATE (i think i'm seeing way too big, way too soon,,,, I've animated like three things in my whole lifetime)
Two OCs on a musical I suppose (I'm not a musical nerd, sadly, but they're fun to listen to from time to time)
Two OCs sharing a dance on 'Violente Valse' by Caravan Palace
Magical Girl transformations on songs I like
an OC fighting against their glitched alter-ego on this remix of ECHO
an OC casting a spell (i guess i wanted to practice visual effects? magic is cool anyway)
"YES!" (expression study i suppose)
someone kissing their friend/lover/significant other on the cheek (aww)
Walk, stomping their feet on dirty ground...
The most intense game of musical chairs you've ever seen
A duo of badass OCs fighting together on 'Best Friend' by Saweetie and Doja Cat (why not, I like the beat)
"The floor is lava" so it's a bunch of my OCs showing off their parkour skills (may not be canon to their characters, but come on, this is fun)
"Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz but it's my OC's showing off their fighting skills on that sick rap part (my imagination goes wiiiild at that specific part)
'Audio, Video, Disco (Medley)' by Justice : basically a sort of montage showcasing my universe in the POV of multiple characters
An animation on the chorus of 'XS' by Rina Sawayama (I have ideas, I'm just afraid they won't meet my expectations on the first fucking try)
"...But my legs were toooo long" (I really want to make an OC animation on this marvel of a song. I don't care if the meme is long gone)
That's everything. Now I need to teach myself some discipline and patience, because there is NO WAY I'll finish this list in a year.
#lavender's stupid stuff i'd like to draw of animate#ssiltdoa#this acronym is NASTY. I need to come up with a better title

Fic Writer Questions!
Thank you for tagging me @theburialofstrawberries, here’s the fic equivalent of me talking like a food blogger before the recipe.
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
21, presently!
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?
105,246, but I am the first to own that this in inflated a bit by works using in-line HTML, and includes that which I’m only a co-creator on.
3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
I think it’s very sexy of me that I keep dropping 1-2 fics into a fandom tag then vanishing into the night never to be seen again. The Terror is an outlier though. It just keeps happening!
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The four instalments of my goofy Witcher AU, which are beating out my Cobra Kai fic by what one might call a substantial margin.
Bonus! Split by hits, the four instalments of my goofy Witcher AU, which are beating out my Dirk Gently fic by what one might call a substantial margin. ‘‘like’ it or not’, the first one in the series, has 42,000 hits and hovers roughly at the 40th most kudos’d work in the tag. I sometimes think about that number in comparison to the population of the town I grew up in and feel very unwell.
5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
With the caveat that I just could not keep up with it for the aforementioned Witcher series; yes, always. Sometimes I need to sit on a comment and digest it a bit, but someone has gone the effort of forming what they liked about my words into their own words, and I want to honour that. Particularly how fandom operates nowadays, where it feels like one has to go out of one’s way to obtain the community aspect of fandom, I really adore being able to back and forward with other people who just like to create, and share, and enthuse about creating and sharing.
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
My Terror ‘Orpheus and Eurydice’ fic, for obvious reasons.
7) What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
That outlier aside, everything runs the gamut between ‘that’s nice :)’ and ‘tooth rotting’. A few contenders here, but I think the Brokeback Mountain fic has to win for the extent that the depicted happiness is contrasted against the source material.
8) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Watch this space! Coming soon to a cinema near you!
9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Nope.
10) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
Only recently! And, turns out, it’s really fun! Who knew! I’m still not convinced that anything I’m doing is hot, but it’s pleasing to me, personally, and that is both enough reason to do it and, statistically speaking, an indicator that someone else out there likes it too, probably.
In the spirit of more data viz, here’s a graph that roughly charts my consumption and production of erotic fanfiction over my lifetime:
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope!
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not quite, but I’ve had the absolutely bonkers privilege to have some of my works podfic’d! I’ve received the gift of a beautiful reading of my Ghosts story, as well as a number of treatments of the instalments from my Witcher series, including this podvid, which I think works particularly well given the visuals of the story! It really reflects the fun I had putting that series together. One day I’d love to do a reading for someone’s fic, because I’ve never felt more honoured and flattered in all my fandom days than hearing someone use their real time and real voice to read my works!
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
@theburialofstrawberries, tell me a time and place.
14) What’s your all time favorite ship?
Too fickle to commit one to paper, but I will say that nothing has cooked my brain matter and rewritten my synapses quite so bad as the poly marriage I imagine the chief, his wife, and the marine biologist from Jaws having. Genuinely forget sometimes that didn’t actually happen.
15) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Pour one out for the 15k gen Venom WIP that sits in my Notes app. Love you buddy. Sometimes open that note just to give it some fresh air
16) What are your writing strengths?
Vignettes, embedding character voices into the prose itself, the occasional turn of phrase that I will credit myself with being pretty snappy.
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
Long scenes! I became so used to vignette-style writing that I intentionally wrote a one-scene story as a challenge to myself and writing the glue between all the interesting bits was like sticking my hands in an oven.
18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I’m glad we’re moving away from the default ‘italicisation to show different language’, which can be othering; I think different ways of depicting language have a place depending on what you want to achieve. Does the POV character know what is being said? Is it important that we, the reader, in said character, presumably do not? I’ve learned a lot about portraying sign languages in my time learning BSL recently, which I’d be keen to put into practice one day.
19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I cannot recall which was first, but it was either the A:TLA fic where Katara helps Toph get made up all pretty for a party, the Teen Titans songfic where they were on an X Factor-style singing competition and people who commented got to vote people out each update, or, if it counts, Warriors roleplay. It all comes back to Warriors roleplay boards. Know your herstory
20) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
I don’t love all my children equally, but I do love them all in different ways. I have a lot of affection for It’s An Institute You Can’t Disparage for being the thing that got me writing fic after a very long time just consuming it, but honestly, my recent self indulgent Terror affairs have just delighted me so much. I’m having so much just plain fun, again, and writing for a crackship is really putting one’s money where one’s mouth is about whole ‘I’m doing this for me’ thing.
Tagging @ellisbarrow @anne-with-an-evangelion and @boilyerheid, if you fancy it!

In complete curiosity, can you tell me what your favorite Smash reveal trailer of all time was?
Like, actually, real shit, stuff that’s already happened in this timeline?
Nothing will ever top Smash 4’s reveal for me. I was really into Brawl as a kid, and after Brawl came out a lot of people spread the idea online that it would be the last smash game (hilarious in hindsight, I know). Me, being the dumb kid I was, took that at face value. I also wasn’t really into following leaks at the time. I was also 12, almost 13 when 4 was revealed, keep in mind. I just sort of accepted that smash was done.
I vividly remember when I first saw that reveal trailer. We were in the middle of bumfuck nowhere for my sister’s soccer game. I was sweaty, hungry, and my phone was running out of battery. I managed to convince my mom to let me stay in the car for the rest of the game, where I promptly began charging my phone and went onto YouTube to pull up some music to listen to (knowing me at the time, it probably would’ve been an Evanescence song). And there, at the top of my recommended feed, was that trailer.
It almost didn’t feel real. I was so convinced that Smash was over, I almost thought that the video would’ve been a fake. Some shitty mod or whatever. But I clicked on it anyways, because, y’know, Smash Bros! Boy am I glad I did. Instantly, I was enthralled by the idea of Smash on the go. I didn’t have a 3DS at the time, but I played on my DS like I was getting paid for every second the screen was on. Having a portable smash game was a dream come true! And when they got to the Wii U part of the trailer, I was drawn in by the visual upgrade compared to Brawl. I was a dumb kid who didn’t know anything about graphics watching this trailer in 480p on a shitty Windows phone, and even I could tell how much of a graphics upgrade it was compared to Brawl. I didn’t have a Wii U at the time either, but I was still excited.
The new characters announced were just the icing on the cake. I love Animal Crossing, but I never expected an Animal Crossing rep in smash because I read that Sakurai had previously said that Animal Crossing characters were unsuited for battle. So when that trailer opened up on a shot of the Villager opening the now iconic envelope, my hype levels instantly shot through the roof of the car. Really, I should consider myself lucky that I was watching this trailer in the middle of an empty parking lot in the middle of nowhere and not, say, on the bus ride home from school, because after that point, I was visibly freaking out throughout. I would’ve been perfectly satisfied with just Villager, but then the trailer continued. The videos online right now show these two as separate videos, but I definitely remember watching them as one big trailer.
NEW CHALLENGER APPROACHING!
Oh boy, who could it be? The gang looked up at a cliff to see a boy with distinct spiky hair.
“No. There’s no way it could be him. There’s just no way! I read online that he couldn’t get in, so it’s not him.”
Blip!
“OH MY GOD IT IS HIM HOLY SHIT IT’S MEGA MAN FUCKING MEGA MAN HOLY S H I T!”
It didn’t feel real. It felt like a dream. But I was loving every second of it. And even better, the next video in my recommended feed was the trailer for Wii Fit Trainer. What? Why? Who asked for this? I was dumbfounded, but all for it.
I think that those three characters made for the perfect holy trinity of character reveals. The anticipated first party/character Sakurai previously said no to, the third party, and the character that nobody saw coming. Smash 4’s initial reveal had it all. I probably rewatched that trailer for the rest of the soccer game. I texted all my friends about it, and they were all nearly as excited as I was. I would’ve told my mom and sister all about it when they got back in the car, but I wasn’t supposed to be using data at the time, so if they knew that I had used it to watch a silly reveal trailer over and over again, mom probably would’ve had a heart attack (this was before unlimited data was more standard). But you better believe that I exploded on about it as soon as I figured it was safe to.
Even after all these years (and all of the timelines I’ve looked into), no Smash trailer...no, more like no trailer period has ever gotten close to capturing the pure excitement that I felt when I first saw the Smash 4 trailer, and I doubt that there ever will be one. I’m a jaded adult now, and everything is more exciting through the rose-tinted glass of adolescence. The “Everyone is Here!” trailer for Ultimate came close, though. Smash 4’s development was also something of a turning point for me when I became more active in following the development of new games online. I think it was for a lot of people, I think that a lot of that can be attributed to Brawl’s success (and the Wii as a whole) at capturing a wider demographic of gamers compared to Melee and 64. Smash 4 feels almost laughable to go back and play now, but I can’t deny the impact it had on me.
As far as other individual reveal trailers go, here are my favorites:
Little Mac and Palutena-both for the same reason: THAT ART STYLE. Their trailers also convinced me to play their respective games. Uprising was one of my first 3DS games and Punch Out is the last game I remember renting from Blockbuster.
Greninja-As laughable as this sounds now, getting a new Pokémon rep was really hype for me back then. I was beginning to get into competitive, so seeing the ninja frog that had taken over the competitive scene at the time get into smash was cool, even if I was Team Fennekin. Confirmation that at least Charizard had survived the cut was also really cool.
Robin and Lucina-I didn’t know anything about Fire Emblem at the time, but Robin looked cool and I was digging the 3D anime artstyle from Awakening that the trailer was rendered in. Another trailer that convinced me to buy the game that they were from, and good god now I’m an insufferable Fire Emblem fan good lord I was so innocent back then. “Girl Marth” jokes were rampant amongst my friends. Also, CAPTAIN FALCON!!!
Lucas-Funny story, my sister absolutely despises video games with a burning, visceral passion now, but back when we played Brawl together, her mains were Lucas and Snake. You can imagine the pain and agony she felt when Smash 4 initially came out. Lucas’ DLC came out around my birthday, so her gift to me that year was a $10 eShop card. She just told me: “you know what to spend it on.”
Cloud-“Hey guys, you know what would’ve been awesome? In Brawl, if, like, they put in Cloud from Final Fantasy 7?”
Corrin-At this point I was a big Fire Emblem fan riding hot on the hype train for Fates, so I was very excited for Corrin. The dragon-inspired moveset also seemed really cool. Funny how times have changed, and when Byleth was added in I was very lukewarm compared to when my reaction to Corrin.
Inkling-Similar story to the Smash 4 reveal trailer, I was absolutely not expecting a Smash announcement that day and I saw the video was in my YouTube recommended feed while I was at my internship of all places. Unfortunately, none of the other people there were gamers (let alone Smash fans), so they couldn’t share in my hype.
Everyone is Here/Ridley-I can’t properly give this one the justice it deserves in a short amount of words and this post is already getting really long, so I’ll save this one for a later day if you guys are interested. To keep it short, let’s just say that I was very much a part of the Ridley gang and I was very happy to see him in.
Belmonts and K. Rool-I got up at 7 in the morning to watch that trailer and loved every second of it. Keep in mind that I am not a morning person by any stretch of the imagination. The only thing that sort of spoiled it for me was that the Smash teams themselves leaked it the night before by releasing a track titled Bloody Tears/Monster Dance
Ken and Incineroar-Nothing against these two, but at the time I was crushed when I realized the Grinch leak was fake. Now I can look back on it and laugh at Little Mac getting yeeted through the billboard and Villager’s stance at the end of the trailer.
Sans Mii Costume-Pretty sure I’ve already mentioned this, but when I first saw that trailer I legit fell out of my chair laughing. I’m not even an Undertale fan, but seeing funny skeleton man on my screen just broke me. The fact that Toby went to Sakurai’s house and beat him in Smash made it even better.
Banjo-I’ve never actually played a Banjo Kazooie game before, but I’ve seen enough videos about them over the years that I almost feel like I have. They’re ingrained in my childhood due to that in a weird way. Plus, it felt so good to have a victory over the Steve fans. I felt the weight of that Jiggy that bounced on the floor.
And that’s about it! If you guys want to hear my thoughts on the Everyone is Here trailer, please let me know and I’ll do another post like this.
...Upon rereading this post for spelling errors, I realized that you probably were more asking about my favorite reveal trailers throughout multiple timelines. Oops. Let me know if that’s what you wanted and I’ll answer with my thoughts on my favorite future reveal trailers.

Description:
As the next step in the hiring process, 3B90 is presented with a more permanent reciever system for network integration.
~2,200 words
Story:
3B90 > [Okay, and this won't hurt at all?] Trepidation and concern pour generously through your connection, mirroring the way they've been saturating your thoughts.
2CE5 > [No, there's no reason to worry. You'll be under some pretty strong anesthetics, though you'll be pretty disoriented in recovery.] A flash of comfort rides with this message, wrapping around your mind like a warm hug.
You're sitting in the waiting room segment of the Rose Cybernetics Augmentation Lab, an entire subset of the building devoted to fabricating, modifying, and installing cybernetic modifications and enhancements. Though the lab extends several floors down into the basement, the room you find yourself in is just below the massive building's main entrance. Relative to the area it services, the space itself is fairly small. Its walls are lined with more conventional chairs, complemented by several other more vexing pieces of... furniture? Your thoughts wander back to that first visit, and you still aren't quite sure what qualifies as furniture versus art.
2CE5 > [The furniture itself _is_ art! It gives pleasant visual patterns and all of that, _and_ it's ergonomic for the standard and non-standard body shapes of everyone who uses it!]
You need to stop broadcasting your thoughts when they drift like that.
2CE5 > [Aww, but 3B... it's cuuuute!]
The screen adorning your face lights up brighter in a begrudging grin. Sure, it's fun to get teased over your thoughts every once and a while, but you could do with a bit more privacy. 2C always makes it so easy to just share everything, but you find that as you reminisce on the events of yesterday, you've successfully put a stopper on the outpouring of thoughts from your mind into the LinkNet. For the interview, you'd booked an overnight hotel, and though the commute back had been pleasant, you'd felt deflated as you stepped back inside. The warmth of connection, that feeling of presence from the interview felt almost like a high, one you crashed from the moment your faceplate came off.
Your faceplate.
It's funny how everything seems to make so much more sense than it did yesterday morning. When you got back to that hotel room, you couldn't seem to help but yearn for the feeling of cold glass pressed against your face again, the paradoxical feeling of being seen and hidden all at once. Thinking about the way that data flowed through your mind, uploads and downloads streaming with the simple ease of breathing, you spent the night restless. You missed it all dearly, and you missed 2C, too. It's weird, you think, missing someone so desperately when you'd barely even met, but the whole situation is weird. In the stretch of less than an hour, you'd felt almost as though her soul had become pressed against yours, and in a way that seems almost accurate. The presence of her mind with yours was one of the most enrapturing moments you'd ever shared with another person. This morning, checking out of your hotel was the easiest departure you'd made in your entire life.
Your personal items, wardrobe, and computer were all accounted for when you stepped back through the doors of the Rose Cybernetics Center. At the desk, a new face - or, well, faceplate? - waited cheerily to greet you. They introduced themself as 13A3, and asked you to follow them to your on-campus housing. This benefit, one that didn't actually subtract from the pay Rose Cybernetics had offered, was quite, frankly the reason you'd chosen to pursue employment here specifically. Other firms had been hiring fairly aggressively, but even if the salary wasn't quite as sweet here, you'd always been a fan of the self-contained arcology life, especially if it was already paid for. An elevator had brought you to a floor above the block of office space from your last visit, into the area which seemed to be clearly intended for residential use. When they reached your apartment's door, 13A1 made the equivalent of a smile - the flowers that covered their display blossomed further - and ushered you inside.
Your apartment was a studio; an open kitchenette next to the door, a bathroom in the far corner, and a section of the far wall that seemed to suggest its utility as desk space. Even if it was a fairly small apartment, it was still the largest space you'd ever had to yourself, and you savored it a moment before noticing the furniture. Aside from the lack of a desk, the entire room was full of your things, set exactly as you were planning to have them when you got around to unpacking. 13 giggled and explained that you'd shared your plans for the room last time you were connected to the network. You shrugged, picking up a box from where it had been placed on your bed. It was black and unassuming just like the last one, but a note had been written in silver marker along the top.
You get to actually keep this one! Enjoy~
2CE5
You broke out in a broad smile and eagerly pressed the contents of the box against your face. The receiver pressed against your neck, and the tug of its electromagnets pulled at your mind with sudden familiarity. Far from that first violent experience, this connection was nothing more than a gentle fall into warm, relaxing water. Data flowed up and down from you again, and before you had time to think you felt 2C's mind pressing into yours. In a quick flurry of communication, she explained that you were cleared to get fitted for a permanent receiver, something far better suited for long-term network synchronization. You still feel excitement at that thought; remaining synchronized for as long as you wish, always able to return to that closeness that you'd never even realized you yearned for until you finally had it. A quick trip back down the elevator and a goodbye to 13A3 later, and you were waiting anxiously for the integration process to be ready.
Returning to the events around you, you relax into the presence of 2C's mind next to yours.
3B90 > [Sure, it's cute, but I need at least _some_ privacy!] You transmit your current emotional state, somewhere between teasing and flirty - quickly seeming to be the default around 2C - alongside that thought.
2CE5 > [That's true, that's true.] The feeling of her thoughts is just as intoxicating as ever, and you can't help but melt into the sensation of her pleasant warmth. 3B90 > [So, you mentioned that after I get my new receiver I'll be able to share my mind like this with _everyone?_]
2CE5 > [Yeah, pretty much! It sounds intimidating, but the best way to do it is mesh in slowly.] Her connection wordlessly relays the process by which new connections are established; both sides of the link engage in a three-way SYN/ACK handshake, a fancy way to say that each participant agrees to establish a link with the other. [It's best to synchronize with folks you've already said hi to, at least. Ease into it, you're probably not ready for more than a couple at a time just yet.] She was right; if you were being honest with yourself, you're barely able to handle the one you share with 2C! [Yeah, I can be a bit of a handful,] she sends, smugness dripping from her link.
3B90 > [Look, it's a lot is all...] Your thoughts branch and fork in too many ways to concisely share before merging once again. [It's amazing, but it's... a lot.]
The two of you fall silent, letting understanding wash between yourselves. Even in the last hour, it's been a refreshing experience getting to share such idle comforts between each other like this. It's amazing, knowing that even with her halfway across the building from you, it feels as though you're sitting right by her side. Over the last few hours, it's finally dawned on you that 2C being appointed as your supervisor doesn't really make much sense. As your mind follows that path further along, you come upon another realization.
3B90 > [I'm not distracting you from work, right?] You flash a breath of concern into your words.
2CE5 > [No, don't worry about that! When you're as used to the network as I am, you learn to multitask. Actually, I'm having five different conversations right now!]
You feel a mixture of trepidation and delight at the thought. Sharing a mind like this is more delightful than anything you've experienced before, but it's so much to take in. You're sure it'll come with time, and 2C seems to agree, but the worry lingers. After another moment of silence, a tech whose display shows a gently swaying forest enters the waiting room and - by your best estimation - makes eye (faceplate?) contact with you. A notification pings in your visor, a request to engage with a new communication stream. 2C gently urges you to accept the request, and fades away to make room for a new consciousness on a new endpoint. The feelings, sensations, and overall feel of self that you get from the technician are so different! Your mind recoils from the feeling for a moment, surprised at the unexpected change. You know that everyone thinks differently, but seeing this first hand as new and unexpected patterns swirl through you feels no less surprising. After the momentary shock, you realize that the tech had said something that you completely missed. Apologetic explanatory feelings flow up through your connection, quickly met by a response.
F211 > [Hey, it's alright. The second connection's always a lot to deal with, especially when you have to disconnect from someone you were comfortable with before.] The technician wordlessly introduces himself, and informs you that he'll be integrating your new receiver systems. You're already familiar with the procedure, but he shares its details with you once more, asking for your verbal consent. It feels strange to use your mouth to talk, even after just a day, but you acquiesce. Your voice is weak and breaking, stating that you agree to and fully understand the details of the modification. You'd forgotten how hard it was to get words out in the way you wanted, and that frustration flows back through you for a moment before it's caught by a wave of reassurance from F211. [That's exactly what I needed, thank you. You're good on 'paperwork', so follow me and we can get started! I know you've been waiting long enough.] A strong breeze blows through the trees of his display, and you think it seems to coincide with a good-natured smile. His initial sensation was so different, but after a moment of acclimation, you like the feeling of his mind almost as much as you enjoy 2C's. It might be the imagery adorning his faceplate, but the feel of him is sharp like the smell of pacific-northwestern pine, sharing that tree's unassuming, gentle strength. He feels surprisingly safe, which, you suppose, is good for someone performing delicate and precise modifications to the composition of your brain.
Your new friend leads you out from the lobby, and down a hallway adorned with sterile white tiling as well as the occasional splash of color painted in polygonal designs along the wall. You broadcast your curiosity over the patterns, feeling F211's response satiate your wonder. The art is intentionally added to ensure that the area's sterile environment remains unique and interesting. Whether it accomplishes this goal, it certainly appears visually interesting. F211 laughs at this thought loudly between your connection, but shows no outward indication of amusement. You're still going to have to get used to how uncanny that is. He guides you to a room at the end of this hallway. Large and circular, this room is ringed by various lights and other mechanical instruments draping from the ceiling, directly above what looks like a reclining chair. The technician invites you to take a seat, and as you do, the chair slowly conforms itself to your shape until it feels as though it was made for you.
F211 > [Everything's set, are you ready to go?]
3B90 > [Ready as I could ever be.] Actually sitting here, your anxiety begins to build. You want this, and it's part of the next step to your work here, but all the same those machines above you look a bit more intimidating than you would like. F211 recognizes your heartrate picking up, and wordlessly asks if it would help to have a hand on your shoulder. You return a wave of gratitude and a flash of green along your screen, and his touch saps away a good deal more of that worry than you expected it to. He sends feelings of reassurance, gently letting you relax. Before you recognize what's happening, he's already counting down from ten, and you feel your voice reflexively mirror the countdown's progress. With each number, you sink lower, deeper, as everything fades into... empty, perfect nothing. Far away, a gas fills your faceplate, letting that nothing surround you until you drift into unconsciousness.
#more good facemask content baybeeee#I just made F211 but I would die for him#also#things are gonna get *fun*

Fanfic: Enemies Within
A @dokidokiliteraturegirls fanfic (webcomic was created by @youhavethewrong
[CHAPTER ONE]
“Quick, everyone, into the club room!” Monika yelled.
The girls’ rapid footsteps echoed down the halls. The entire school was tainted in a deep shade of red. The walls pulsated and contorted into different geometric shapes. Whatever was chasing after the girls was jetting fast, bouncing off the vibrant walls with ease. The school itself became a barren wasteland devoid of students and teachers. Outside of the building all of the windows had been shattered.
“It’s gaining on us!” Natsuki remarked.
“I wish Anthy was here,” Yuri sighs, “if she didn’t decide to face off against that beast, she would’ve deleted them a long time ago.”
Ako darted on the twisting floors, managing to avoid some obstructions. “We’re almost to the literature club!”
The black and white girl was correct. The entrance to the door of the literature club was within their grasp. The floors may be writhing and shifting, but if they kept their footing, they should make it. Natsuki turned to look at her lover and smiled. “We’re almost there, dear.”
Yuri’s mouth formed an O as if she were about to comment. Before she could, her left foot hit a bump in the floor and to her lover’s horror and bewilderment, she crashed onto the floor with an ungraceful thud. Yuri moaned in pain. “It’s my knee...I bruised it.” The walls merged into the ground and lifted the purple-haired girl in the air, propelling her backward.
“YURI!” Natsuki screamed in disbelief.
Yuri was sprawled on her back recoiling in pain. “Natsuki, you have to escape without me.”
Tears sweltered in Natsuki’s eyes. “No! Not after everything we’ve been through, you can’t give up now!”
Yuri started to cry as well. “I’m badly hurt...I’ll just slow you guys down. It’s okay.”
Natsuki shook her head violently in refusal. “My life was nothing but misery before I met you at the literature club. My father...everyone ostracizing me and seeing me weird for my obsession with manga and...other things...Yuri, you lighten up my world! I don’t want to lose you now! Please stand up!”
Yuri tried to get up, but the tremors in the ground forced her back down. The creature was now advancing towards them faster than before. “Forget me, Natsuki! If you won’t do it for me, do it for us!”
Natsuki looked at her other club members then back at Yuri. She did this a few times that felt like an eternity. Her thoughts were being drowned out by the quaking noise and Yuri’s vocal insistence. Natsuki grabbed the sides of her temples in anguish. “Why do I have to choose like this!?”
With that, she ran towards Yuri. Ako stopped momentarily to see what was happening. “Wait, Natsuki!”
She wanted to say more. She had to say more. She didn’t want to lose anyone else today. But Monika grabbed her only arm for she had lost her metallic arm in the fighting. “We don’t have much time,” Monika said solemnly, “it pains me, but Natsuki made her decision.”
“B-but...” Ako stammered. Monika dashed to the door and bent down to bite the handle of the door. Her teeth grasped the handle tightly giving Monika a slight toothache from them grinding on the handle to open it counterclockwise. She couldn’t help but pray to whatever forces out there in the universe to give her this small bit of strength to do this one simple task. With the door opened, Monika tossed Ako into the room and slammed the door.
Natsuki somehow made it to Yuri and placed herself on top of her girlfriend. Yuri was still hurting slightly, but feeling the warmth of Natsuki’s body did remedy some of it. Tears were streaming down her face. “That was quite an immature thing to do, Natsuki.”
Natsuki cried as well. Her tears fell on Yuri’s chest soaking it. “Hey, you know me, Yuri, I am a child after all.
The two shared a deep, passionate kiss with each other breaking it a few moments to breathe. Natsuki’s lips still tasted like cupcakes. Yuri’s were a sweet lavender scent. Their chaser towered over the couple and chuckled. “That would be sweet, but I already sacrificed my ties a long time ago.”
Natsuki looked up to see the attacker. They remained in a stable motion despite the walls and floors collapsing in on themselves. In fact, Natsuki could’ve sworn that whoever it was, they were levitating in the air. The attacker was radiating a red energy and was gathering into a violent ball of dark power. Natsuki grit her teeth.
“You’ll never get away with this!”
“That’s what they all say.”
Ako paced back and forth when she stopped in her tracks to hear several blasts and sizzling. Ako whimpered to herself knowing what happened but she could not even dare to imagine the immense pain Yuri and Natsuki were put in.She looked over at Monika. Monika was putting on a straight face, or at least a visual of it. She heard everything as well, but she had to be strong in their memory. Now they had to barricade the door to keep the attacker at bay.
Ako was grabbing whatever wasn’t glued down to the ground and blockading the door with it. Desks, chairs, boxes. Whatever was readily available, Ako made use of. “That won’t hold them for long, Monika, so hurry!”
Monika had her laptop in hand and activated it. “I’m hurrying, I’m hurrying!”
Bang. Bang. Bang.
Red energy illuminated through the cracks of the door. Ako responded by throwing in her body weight to slow down the attacker’s thrashing. She shoved her hands firmly on the door and pressed her feet on the ground. “Grrr....can’t hold on much longer!!”
“It’s finishing loading, Ako, just hold on a little longer,” Monika said reassuringly.
Ako’s sweat moistened her hands, making them slippery. Her arms were chafing and on the verge of failure. “I have to do this for all the girls.”
The banging on the door became louder and more forceful. The desks and chairs were giving way. The red energy shined brightly, overtaking the room. Monika became unnerved by it, but she pressed on. “Just one more and...there! Ako, I got into the command panel!”
Her tone of triumph fell flat from the lack of a response. “Ako?” Monika said “Ako?”
She turned to look at the door and nearly panicked. Ako was gone; evaporated. The door was now hanging on its single hinge alongside the charred chairs and desks. But worse of all, she was now alone in the club room with Ako’s killer.
“I-it’s you,” Monika remarked. She shielded her laptop despite being petrified.
“After I have destroyed all of the other alternate realities, you of all people should’ve known that I would come for this reality next.”
Monika narrowed her eyes in disgust. “There is one universe that I know you haven’t destroyed.”
The attacker laughed. “Dimension C-2293? The one where you live a happy little life as if none of your sins ever happened?”
Monika bowed her head in shame. “That dimension’s Monika has a copy of the laptop I use. I already sent it to her. You’ll never win because of teamwork.”
She looked at the clock on the wall, but reading it was difficult due to the walls twisting and turning and fading away. “99% of the game is deleted.”
The attacker smiled. “Everything you have ever done dies with you. I don’t care if you sent a version of yourself the message because you no longer exist.”
In a flash, the attacker was gone leaving Monika with the world crumbling around her. She collapsed on the ground writhing in agony. Looking down at her hands, she could see that the flesh on them was being eroded away. Before long, she would be completely deleted. More open wounds erupted throughout her body and unravels from the data being eradicated. With her gaze faltering, Monika felt her only solace would be that she’d be with her dimension’s Sayori.
“I just hope she gets the message ASAP.”
[CHAPTER TWO]
Monika and Sayori sat in their shared home one day watching television. For whatever reason, Monika had a worried look on her face. Sayori noticed her few passing glances and was slowly becoming alarmed as well. "Dear, what's wrong? You're acting weird."
Monika blinked suddenly and then a few times. "Oh, sorry; I just received some…interesting e-mail."
Sayori's eyes widened. "Really? From whom?"
Monika shrugged her shoulders. "The coordinates were all over the chart." She stretched out her arms to further emphasize her point. "I feel it has something to do with the game's code again. Maybe I'll ask Anthy on it later."
Sayori snapped her fingers suddenly. "Oh, shoot; I almost forgot. I think our Ako has a crush!"
Monika tensed up for a bit. Even if it's been about two years, Monika still felt slightly incensed to the notion that Ako would try to go after her Sayori again. Even though they had both buried the hatchet back during the beach episode arc. Sayori took notice if this and tapped her on the shoulder. "No, not me this time."
Monika's limbs loosened in relief. "Sorry. I still need to work on that. Anyway, who is it?"
"Anthy." Sayori replied.
A moment of silence filled the room. It was so quiet, that a pin could drop any minute and not invoke much of a reaction from the two girls. Monika opened her mouth a few times still unsure on what to say. Anthy? That girl who literally tried to kill all of them and was the one who bit her arm off? Really? Monika picked up her glass to take a few sips from it, but it noticeably wobbled in her hand.
"Anthy? Why?" Monika asked.
"It all started when Anthy started to appear more to check on how the game was running. As you know, Anthy kind of made some alterations to the game by making herself a home here. Well, she started hanging out with Ako at the library where she'd watch her draw two flowers and a cat. Anthy started bringing her different objects to draw. One thing led to another…and then they both kissed."
Monika spit her drink out, startling Sayori. "Monika, what the hell?"
"Sorry, sorry. It's just…coming off as a surprise to hear all that."
Sayori nodded her head. "That explained why they kind of…freaked out when they were close to each other at the club room a day before."
Monika was still unsure of what to think. Sure, she is content with the fact that Ako found herself someone to potentially love. But Anthy…to be frank, was a little creepy. What with her permanent smile and shark teeth, could you really blame her? Anthy couldn't much help that because she mentioned constantly that it was her default expression. Even when she wasn't doing anything…deadly, she was still intimidating. But at the same time, she shouldn't dissuade Ako from pursuing her heart, even if it ends in heartbreak.
"I take it that she texted you about it?"
Sayori nodded her head again. "Yeah; she did. She said that she wasn't sure about what to do."
"Are you suggesting we arrange for the two to confess to each other?" Monika asked.
"Of course; she's going to come by later to confide in me. You could maybe confront Anthy and give her advice."
Monika raised her finger to say something additionally. Sayori laughed at this. "She won't bite; I promise."
A large distance across from where they lived, a girl with short blonde hair and blue eyes was walking. She attended the same school as the four girls and walked home from school every day at a certain time. It was not long since school had let out for the day. She walked down a small path soaking in her surroundings. She was thinking of what to have for dinner at home when a surge of power generated through the air. She looked up in alarm.
Above her, a rip formed in the sky and gave way to a large, gaping hole. The girl stood glued to the ground with shock and awe. Fragments of the sky fell onto the ground revealing heavy static behind it. "What in the?" she asked herself.
From that rip came a rosy-colored flame ball. It launched itself in a downward spiral bombarding towards the girl. Seeing this suddenly brought the girl back to her senses and she ran right to dodge it. The flame ball smashed into the ground, leveling it. Smoke filled the site of the impact. Out of curiosity, the girl pondered what had fallen to Earth and stood by to observe. The smoke eventually settled enough for the girl to realize that it formed a considerably large crater.
"What?"
She ran towards the crater her curiosity being overbearing as it was. Panting from running, she investigated the crater to a surprise. In the hole, there was a girl, roughly around her age. More bizarrely, she was bereft of clothing and laying on her belly with her bare cheeks at full display. The blonde-haired girl blushed at this slightly most likely from embarrassment at seeing the girl in such a position. But she was horrified all the same assuming the girl for dead.
"Oh no, oh no, oh no…" she said. She scrambled through her belongings to find her cell phone so she could contact the medics of the dilemma. After dialing up the number, she momentarily looked away to listen to the ringtone. She looked back to catch another glimpse of the girl for a description but saw that she was gone.
"Ma'am? Ma'am?" the receptor asked.
The blonde girl held the phone shakily in her hand before dropping it seemingly not hearing the person on the other end. In front of her, the naked girl levitated before her. She couldn't speak. Nothing about what she was seeing made any sense. Before she could say anything, the naked girl grabbed her by her throat and glared at her. Upon looking closer at the girl before her, she saw that she shared the same color of her eyes. As she was desperately trying to comprehend what was going on, the nude girl's eyes turned crimson.
A few minutes later, the once nude girl had clothes. After finishing up on her necktie, she walked up the path. "I'll be coming for you soon. Don't get too cozy."
Ako arrived at Monika and Sayori's house roughly at six. She approached the door fretfully and almost found herself walking away several times unsure of whether she should go through with it or not. She extended her right hand to knock on the door, but her knocks were barely an octave. She waited around, but she did not hear the girls. "I knew this was a bad idea."
Ako turned to walk away, but the door slowly opened to a creek. "Ako?"
"Oh, uh, hey…Sayori," Ako said.
Monika had prepared some tea for the occasion and offered some to Ako. Ako thanked her for it and took a long, noisy sip from it. Afterward, the room went silent again. Monika and Sayori stood by waiting for someone to start the conversation. Eyes darted throughout the room to see a single instance of lips parting to form a vowel sound. When nothing came about, Sayori cleared her throat. "So, Ako, how…"
"I kissed her, Sayori," Ako finally responded.
"Oh," Sayori said plainly,
"I don't know what happened. We were both sitting down at a table. Anthy had gone to one of those online game websites and brought me back a teddy bear for me to draw." Ako stopped herself so she could drink more of the tea before starting again. "Before I knew it, Anthy was sitting close to me; so close, I could feel her body rub up to mine. That same sensation I felt for you came back. Stronger even. My gut was making…butterflies is the term, I think? My heart was beating fast in my chest…I was scared that it would burst out of my chest if I wasn't too careful. But I felt Anthy's heart also skipping a beat."
Sayori and Monika listened carefully not saying anything. Anthy's cheeks began to turn green and she was becoming queasy. "Sayori, she's having an attack, what are we going to do?"
Sayori slipped out a paper bag, walked across the room, and placed it in Ako's hands. After breathing sporadically into the bag, her breathing eased. "Thank you."
"Don't mention it," Sayori said, "can you speak now?"
"I was drawing the teddy bear like I mentioned…but when Anthy got even closer to me, my hand nudged up with hers, and…our eyes met each other. As if unprecedented, we suddenly kissed."
"And after that, Anthy opened up a portal to run away?" Sayori asked.
Ako bowed her head. "Should I have kissed her?"
Monika spoke up next. "Did she like the kiss?"
"Monika!" Sayori shouted in surprise. "That's too much to ask."
Ako shrugged. "I couldn't tell. She didn't turn her head in disgust over it, but she also didn't express that she enjoyed it."
"Well, maybe we can help you come to terms with it," Monika said.
"How?" Ako asked.
"Getting you both to state your feelings to each other."
Ako raised an eyebrow. "How?"
"Well, a poem worked for both Natsuki and Yuri," Monika explained, "maybe that could help."
Ako raised her palm. "I gotta stop you right there, friend."
"Why?"
"Writing poems are not my thing." Ako stated. "It sounds kind of dumb."
Monika's right eye twitched. She felt her inner rage reaching her boiling point. "What the f-!"
Sayori covered her lover's mouth. "Maybe a drawing you can both do?"
Ako scratched her chin in deep thought. "That could work."
Ako stood up from her seat. "But the only issue remaining is that she caused us so much pain and almost killed us and nearly deleted the game. How can I just forget that?"
Sayori smiled. "To be fair, you can never really forget something like that. It makes you more unsure that you could trust someone like that again because you run a risk of going through that pain again. But when the person is putting in the effort of being better, you have to have some faith in them."
Ako nodded in agreement. "Is that like when you forgave Monika for the things she did in your game?"
"Yes. I mean Monika tried to have my neck snapped when I had a noose around my neck, but it's all good now, right, Monika?"
Monika laughed nervously at Sayori's comment. "Yeah…I did, didn't I?"
Ako also joined in on the laughter. Sayori and Ako were laughing wildly as if it were some type of joke. But Monika remained quiet, clearly not wanting to be reminded of what happened in the past.
[CHAPTER THREE]
"This…doesn't make any sense," Anthy said to herself. She went behind the background of the game's world to view the coding. There was some recent addition to the game, but for some reason, the addition was invisible to her. As an antivirus program, Anthy would be aware of it. If data were being burned in exhaust, Anthy would be sure to quash that. And yet, here she was trying to find out what happened. She was so absorbed in her work; she almost did not hear her doorbell ring.
"What? Huh?"
"Anthy, it's me," a voice responded.
Anthy sighed in relief. "Oh, it's just you, Monika; come on in."
Monika opened the front door and entered the house. Her eyes widened in surprise. Anthy's house…was not that great to look at. The wallpaper was in stitched patches of light green stripes. Like a Christmas tree. All the furniture were merely photos she had made copies on by visiting various websites on the internet like Clip Art and Photoshop. Most striking, however, was that when the wallpaper began to decay and peel, it revealed the static background of the game's setting.
"Oh, hey," Anthy said in a half-laugh, "this is my humble abode." She stretched her arms out to further emphasize it. Monika soaked it in for a few moments but forced a smile.
"Oh, it's nice," she said.
Anthy lowered her head to indicate that she sensed that she was lying. "Yeah, yeah, I know. It isn't the best thing ever, but at least it's cozy." Anthy laughed in embarrassment.
"Well, what were you doing exactly?" Monika asked.
"Oh, the game apparently had some addition to it, but for whatever reason, I can't find it."
Monika scratched her chin. "That is odd; I received some coordinates on my laptop; it felt like it came from somewhere outside of the game."
Anthy sat on a green chair she copied and pasted from Clip Art. "What brings you to my home anyway?" Anthy squinted her eyes in suspicion. "You didn't add something to the game, right, Monika?"
Monika denied it by shaking her head. "No. It's actually about Sayori."
Anthy looked up. "She isn't still distraught over finding out the truth about the Player?"
Monika frowned. "It wasn't your fault, Anthy, you know that."
Anthy nodded. "Yeah, but when the game glitched out that one time and you all were thrown out of your game and met the Player, I felt it was my fault for it."
Monika pat Anthy's shoulder. "Even though the Player outright admitted to us that he viewed us as nothing more than pixels, the love that we had for each other was real. It was the only thing that mattered."
"True; well, what was on Sayori's mind?" Anthy asked. She ripped a small hole in thin air and pulled out a mug. In the mug was some coffee. She then opened her mouth and pitched the mug into it. Monika shivered a bit. Anthy always had the oddest way of eating food. If she even needed to eat at all.
"She spoke with Ako today about what happened between you and Ako."
Anthy suddenly spit the hot coffee out of her mouth. "What!?"
Monika waved her hands. "It's fine, it's fine."
Anthy's face reddened spontaneously. She bowed her head again and shielded it with her gloved hands. She let out a slight whimper almost as though she were a little puppy. "Oh, why did you have to bring it up? It was so…humiliating!"
Monika blinked a few times whilst thinking of what to do next. "Did Ako think it was?"
Anthy looked back up again. "I got out of dodge before I even asked her about it."
Monika nodded understandably. "Ah. I understand. You know, Sayori and I didn't immediately hook up, you know."
Anthy listened tentatively. "Yeah, I can see that. But what can I do about my dilemma?"
"Oh, when Ako came over to speak about what happened, she also had the same feelings about the kiss as well."
Anthy's eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"
Monika smiled. "Yes; she almost through up from it."
Anthy squinted her eyes to indicate a frown which was obviously hard due to her perpetual grin. "So, she did hate it?"
"I wouldn't say that" Monika replied. "It goes to show that she is just as unsure about her feelings like you are."
Anthy nervously tapped her two index fingers. "I…I think I love her."
Monika smiled warmly. "Well, I m glad to hear you coming to that realization of yourself."
"I don't know what it is," Anthy replied, "but anytime I'm around Ako, I feel…warm. Calm even."
"And what are you going to do about it?" Monika asked.
"Jump into a farming simulation and maybe disconnect with modern society?" Anthy answered.
"No. If you are unsure of what to do, Sayori and I came up with a solution."
"Tell me, please," Anthy begged.
Sayori was at home watching anime when she received a notification. She reached for her cell phone and saw that it was a text message from Monika:
"Anthy agreed to do the drawing with Ako."
Sayori smiled. She quickly replied and laced it neatly with a heart emoji. She played around with Monika in a teasing fashion until Anthy typed up a response amounting to STFU. Sayori rolled her eyes. That was one of the things she liked about her bizarre, shark-toothed friend.
Sayori continued to watch her show for a good hour. As it reached its finale, she received another buzz. "What now?" she asked.
She flipped through her messages again. This time, she saw that it was a number she did not recognize. She opened it up and read it. While the number was one, she did not know, it stated that it was from Natsuki. Sayori raised an eyebrow. She read it over a couple times to make sure she was interpreting what she was reading.
"I'm at the mall; I'm going to buy an anniversary gift for Yuri, and I need your advice."
Sayori was more complex. "Is that you, Yuri? What happened to your number?"
After typing that out, she got a response. "My phone broke, so I had to get a replacement."
Sayori rubbed her head. "Well, that makes sense."
Not taking how odd the text messages were, Sayori agreed to Natsuki's request and they both set up where they would be meeting at. Sayori followed the coordinates without further questions. Even though the site that they agreed upon was further away from the mall. Sayori thought to text Natsuki a few more times inquiring whether she had forgotten where they would meet up at. Natsuki sparingly gave responses at random until she arrived at a back alley. Sayori became unsettled by this.
"Natsuki, are you there?"
Her deep, innermost thoughts told her, nay screamed at her to not go into the alley, but her mind immediately drifted towards Natsuki. What if something was horribly wrong with her? Without much infliction, she rushed into the alley way. "Natsuki! Natsuki!?"
Her voice echoed throughout the seeming empty void. But there was no response. Sayori held her phone out and typed up another text for Natsuki. "Where are you, Natsuki? This isn't funny."
She waited around still fearful of her surroundings. She felt as if she was being watched by some unseen spectacle. It felt like an eternity of her waiting for an answer. The hair on the back of her hand stood on end. Her neck was out in the open, and now something or someone was caressing it. Sweat was raining down from her pores. But from that bout of anxiety, Natsuki's text came back startling her.
"Behind you."
Sayori turned around and saw a dark figure. It grabbed her before Sayori could even scream. Sayori struggled against her assailant with all her strength. The attacker grabbed onto Sayori's wrists with a tight grip. "Grrr…get off!"
The assailant twisted Sayori's right wrist propelling Sayori to fall on the ground. That proved to be Sayori's undoing. In a flash, the attacker held something in their hand and slammed it on Sayori's face. Sayori mumbled and squirmed vibrantly with her head pushed harder into the object. Eventually, Sayori's struggling weakened, and she fell unconscious. The assailant sighed heavily out of irritation at Sayori's resistance and went to collect her.
[CHAPTER FOUR]
"Mmm…. where am I?"
Sayori's eyes fluttered open to soak in her surroundings. She was in a dark room somewhere in an unknown place. Her mind pained her apparently resulting from her attacker wrestled that odd-smelling substance on her face causing her to black out. Sayori reached to soothe her aching head, but there were restraints around her wrists preventing her from moving her arms.
"What are these?"
She tried to feel for the rest of her body only to receive the same response. Her waist and legs were also seemingly locked in place. Sayori's eyes widened at the realization. She was trapped unable to maneuver her limbs. Before she could fully comprehend what has become of her, the room was suddenly washed over in light and assaulted her eyes. Squinting her eyes, Sayori beheld some figure standing in the doorway.
"So, you're finally awake, huh?"
That voice. Something about that voice was familiar. Sayori looked down seeing that she was tied to a chair. That made some considerable sense. But that was not her main concern. With her vision steadied, she further investigated the source of the voice. Her eyes widened in shock.
It was her. Or rather some entity that has her visage. She wore a school uniform like her own. Her hair was rosy-red with her signature bow on it. The other girl shared the blue color of her eyes, but in her case, they were paler and seeming lifeless. A dark aura radiated from her. Sayori could not believe what she was seeing. She blinked her eyes a few more time under the belief that she was having a daydream. But it dawned on her that she was very wide awake.
"W-who are you?" Sayori asked finally.
The girl lightly chuckled. "I'm you, idiot."
"B-but how?" Sayori stammered. "Were you left over when Monika rebooted the game?"
The girl turned aside and slipped out a phone. Sayori looked intently at it seeing that it was her own phone. The girl had stolen it when she was out cold. She lightly tapped the screen of the phone. She browsed through the pictures on her gallery. She raised an eyebrow, perplexed. There were several photos of Sayori with Monika. "How long has this…thing been going on?" The girl placed heavy emphasis on "thing."
"For about two years now," Sayori replied.
"Are you suggesting that after all of the pain that she had put us through, you're now in love with her?" she spit. Just thinking about Monika's name was enough to make her bitter.
Sayori frowned up in defense of her girlfriend. "What Monika had done was bad, but she worked hard to change. I gave her a chance, so why can't you?"
"You fail to realize how long it's been?" she asked.
"To me, it felt more like one time," Sayori said innocently.
The girl scoffed. "One time. Try about 1,000 times!"
Sayori tried to free herself from her binds to no avail. The ropes ripped further into Sayori's skin and were covered in her blood. They were leaving marks on her arms and legs. "Let me go!"
"For thousands of times, nearly every day, she corrupted my mind…made me do things that led to my death. Rinse and repeat. Every single day, the same routine. What I am is an amalgamation of all the Sayoris that have been dealt a bad hand. Through the different worlds, fragments of my being broke through realities out of one singular emotion. That being a pure, unending hatred."
She reached into her pocket again and slipped out an elongated chain. Sayori did not know what to think about it at first, but then it hit her what they belonged to. They were chains comprised of different codes. "That's not what I think they are, are they?" Sayori asked.
The girl nodded. "Yes, these are just some of the prizes I have acquired from exploring other games."
She laid the chain of codes on the ground to let it roll out. It started wat the girl's feet then inched its way towards the chair Sayori was strapped into. The chains were roughly around 30 ft long. "Each strand of codes was what I had collected when I deleted other versions of your game," she explained. "I always made sure to collect one to reminiscence on them."
"Why are you here now?" Sayori asked aloud.
"I assumed that I had deleted every dimension where Monika and that Literature Club were situated at. In each world, I made Monika suffer the same way we had suffered before ending her life by bringing devastation to her precious Literature Club. I like to believe that when my game was no more, the command powers that she had were unwittingly transferred to me. Whether it was fate or whatever, I do not see any reason to care. All I know is that I have gotten my chance on destroying Monika and erasing her from existence."
The girl dismissively rammed Sayori's phone back in her pocket and went to walk out of the door. Sayori started to panic. "Wait, wait, you can't leave me here! Let me go!"
The girl stopped at the door and smirked. "I'm sorry, I can't do that. I will play a game with your girlfriend first before tearing the world apart inside out. Now do me the pleasure and starve to death. Will ya?"
With that, Sayori's doppelganger slammed the door shut leaving Sayori to her own devices. Worse, she did not have her phone to notify Monika or her friends about her being locked away somewhere. The ropes cut deeper into her skin. The pain was excruciating, but Sayori had to do something. Fast.
Monika, Yuri, and Natsuki assembled at Monika's house with some pieces of paper. Yuri looked at the clock on the wall with concern. "Do you think they'll show up?"
Monika smiled slightly. "Don't worry, Yuri, I'm sure they hadn't booked us."
Natsuki looked at her wristwatch. "Speaking of booking us…where's Sayori?"
"Now that you mention it," Yuri began, "I thought she'd be the first one here since she's Ako's friend."
"She texted me about going to speak with Natsuki about giving her advice on what to get Yuri for their anniversary."
Yuri's cheeks blushed a deep red forcing her to shield her face in her hands. Natsuki was also blushing deeply. "You ruined the surprise, Monika!"
"Oh, sorry," Monika replied laughing nervously.
Natsuki crossed her arms and pouted. "Besides, I never told Sayori about my plan."
Monika raised an eyebrow. "Wait, if Sayori didn't text me that then who…"
There came a knock on the door startling them. "That must be them now," Yuri rationalized. Monika went to the door and opened it revealing that it was Ako on the other side. But her cheeks were a greenish hue again. "H-hey, guys," she said.
The three friends stared at each other at a loss for what to say. "Take a seat over there, Ako," Monika directed.
Ako did as she was told and sat in the seat Monika directed her to. Ako breathed in slowly and exhaled in a whistle. She did this a few more times before she felt her stress was away. Ako was then given paper and a pencil. "Draw whatever's in your heart," Yuri advised.
They waited around a little longer for at least Anthy to arrive next. But as the hours slowly went by, it seemed that Anthy kept to her word of leaving the game for some other one rather than confront Ako in her current state of mind. Ako had already begun drawing but with each scribble she did, she balled the paper up and tossed it into the garbage. With each one, Ako began to sink into depression. "She's not coming, isn't she?" Ako sighed. "I don't blame her."
Monika tapped her shoulder. "Please do not think that way, Ako. Maybe she just needed more time."
Ako looked up with tears in her eyes. "This hurts more then when I accidentally fell in love with Sayori."
Monika looked at Ako in pity. "You should not beat yourself up like that."
"It's true! You have Sayori; and Yuri has Natsuki. I have no one that I love."
Monika and the other girls ceased talking afraid that whatever they said next would further muddle the situation. While thinking, a rip manifested in thin air by Monika's couch. Inside of the rip revealed the static background representing the game's reality. A gloved hand reached out from the rip to pull itself out. On the end of the gloved hand was Anthy.
"Anthy, you made it!" Monika exclaimed.
"I did get cold feet and I did consider leaving," Anthy explained sadly, "but then I realized I would be hurting Ako by doing so."
Natsuki gave Anthy a piece of paper and she also sat in a seat by Ako. Ako looked up momentarily and blushed in embarrassment. Seeing the shark-toothed girl again at this proximity made her heart skip a beat again. "You-you came?"
Anthy's smile widened. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
The two began to draw. Anthy was a lot of things, but an artist was not her forte. Ako herself often drew two flowers and a cat. That was her main purpose as an NPC. But being so close to Anthy now filled her with different emotions. The two went wild with their drawings. They finished in about 20 minutes.
"Alright, present what you've drawn," Monika announced.
Ako timidly shook the paper in her hands. "Are you sure?"
Monika nodded in approval. "I am positive."
Ako took a deep breath and placed the paper on the table. It was a crudely drawn version of herself standing with a hand missing on the right side of the paper. Monika rolled an eyebrow at this. "Strange."
Anthy was next. The thought of ripping a hole into reality to leave crossed her mind, but she too took a deep breath and placed her paper on the table. Ako's face turned red. Anthy twiddled her thumbs her cheeks slowly turning red as well. For what was on the page was Anthy to the left of the paper extending her nonexistent hand like with Ako's self-portrait. When the two drawings were place together, it gave off the expression they were holding each other's hand.
"Does, does that mean," Ako stammered. Inspired by the self-portrait, she grabbed Anthy's hand, and Anthy reciprocated it.
"Oh, you're my perfect little ink blot girlfriend!" Anthy proclaimed.
"And I love your smile, my..my love!"
The two continued to say sugary nothings to each other. While Yuri and Natsuki were delighted by the turn of events, Monika was preoccupied with her phone and sending a frenzy of texts to Sayori.
"Sayori, I don't know where you are, but please pick up!"

I figured out what I want to do with my life! And made a vision board!

It came to me in a flash, really. One minute, I was watching a handpainted narration of the life and death of one of the greatest painters of all time, and next thing you know, I've abandoned it completely and started furiously typing away at my laptop about what I envisioned myself to be in five years' time. And I know I've had my fair share of false alarms in life: I thought I had what it takes to be a lawyer after seeing Legally Blonde for the first time while on my way to a school field trip, and seriously considered pursuing a career as a fashion blogger or MTV VJ because I was kind of fed up with school.
But this one just makes sense. Advising and assisting clients in producing content, collaterals, and campaigns according to their business objectives and based on collected data! It marries my love for writing, my knack for snooping around (the academic term is research!), and the specialty in technology and management my university ensures I'll have at the end of my four-year degree. i have yet to see how it’ll allow me to give back to society since that’s also a factor I want to consider in looking for a dream job but I’ll make it work. I found it hard to sleep that night, thanks to this nerdy, giddy kind of adrenaline rush I had. I broke down this big idea into smaller and smaller action steps until all I had left was a refined list of ideas and intentions, and a splitting headache.
I needed to make sure I was constantly reminded of their existence so all my choices and decisions would serve as a step closer to reaching all of them. So I caved in to the wishes of the "law of attraction" side of the Internet, and created my very own vision board! Simply put, this act of visualization is a powerful technique that can be used to manifest desires and reach goals. Our subconscious minds mainly recognize symbols and images: by merely looking at our vision boards everyday, subliminal messages are being sent to our brains, which will encourage them to work tirelessly to achieve the statements we are feeding to them. I can't find any explanation for this that's less abstract but since many people seem to swear on it and I have a lot of free time and printer ink, I figured why not, right?
It was convenient that I had this small corkboard from Daiso already stuck to one corner of my bedroom wall with several layers of double-sided tape. It used to be a year-long calendar of birthdays but I realized that I've never referred to it and often have to rely on either Facebook reminders or stock knowledge--there is no in between. All I had to do was to look at my list of goals, and compile photos that correspond to each of them, cut them up and arrange them in an aesthetically pleasing manner. You'll see below that I lacked the stereotypical luxury car and beachfront mansion with a walk-in closet and that's because I decided to focus on my goals for the next five years so it looks even a little bit more achievable.

Here's the finished product, along with explanations for each picture, to make this how-to more personal and to also hold myself accountable.
Make my girl Jenna Rink and everybody at Poise proud by writing for a magazine | I had listed a specific one at the time, and if you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you already know what it is and how this endeavor turned out - but on this blog, I'll shroud it in a little cloud of mystery for now and talk about it more in a future post. I'm very happy producing content for this space of mine and have no intention of stopping any time soon. But at the same time I know that I'd be missing out if I didn't take the chance to be part of a community that leads me to like-minded individuals, allows me to grow even more in my craft, and "gives creators a space to speak their minds and push the limits of their artistry, without imposing any restrictions or expectations", as I stated in my application form.
Be active in three organizations next school year | (I had to blur one of them out because I'm not a member yet and I don't want to jinx it.) I know it's bold of me to assume that we'll be returning to school any time soon, but if we are ever lucky enough, I want to outdo myself when it comes to the orgs I'm a part of. I have been a good follower throughout my first two years of college but now I believe it's my time to try my hand at leading a group of people and being more involved in the conceptualization and execution of projects.
Go on a trip to Europe | Not even just a specific group of countries anymore (I used to be a France, Italy, Spain supremacist)--I mean the entire continent! (But then again, with its rich history and culture, picturesque tourist spots, diverse cuisines... even the sheer adrenaline rush that comes with being in a land completely different from the one you come from, how could anyone not want to go?
and 12. Get the job of my dreams | I actually nicked these photos from the website of a cooperative I want to work for once I graduate from college. I know that I can't plan out the rest of my career trajectory as early as now: things are bound to change at some point, but I hope that I stay in a field that combines creativity and business strategy to craft campaigns, create meaningful content, and market solutions to brands.
Expand my network | I acknowledge how knowing people who know people who know people can open windows of opportunities that I wouldn't have been able to have anywhere else. But I also look forward to building genuine connections with people from all sorts of industries. Talking to the same circle of friends can sometimes feel like you're trapped in an echo chamber: there is certainly much to learn from others' viewpoints.
Volunteer to teach kids | I don't think the written word could have changed my life as much as it did, had it not been for the presence of English teachers who believed in the power of the language to shape the minds of the youth. I guess this is just me trying to give back and help the next generation express their ideas and bring them to life by channeling my inner John Keating.
Maintain a clean workspace that is conducive to productivity | Especially during these days, I spend a solid 18 out of 24 hours sat at my desk, trying my best to make magic happen. It's very important that I keep it a constant and active source of inspiration, free from any distractions, and at the right level of comfort. Although it's not as minimalist as I hoped it would be and my table is about an inch too high for my liking, I'm still pretty satisfied!
Document memories consistently, be it through a physical or online journal | Speaking of clearing out my room, I recently found around 20 notebooks I had filled up over the years. Though maintaining them must have been such a hassle especially as I got older and reading through them was a distraction from completing the task at hand, I am thankful I painstakingly chronicled everything going on in my life and kept them in good condition. Seeing the goals I had set for myself all those years ago and how I achieved most of them without making a conscious effort has inspired me to do my older self a favor by putting in the work now so she can reap the rewards. (While I'm on this note, can anyone recommend a good app for journaling? I keep all my current entries in my Mac's Notes app because even though I am more of an analog person, I seemed to have lost the patience and persistence required to keep a physical journal. But at the same time, I'm scared of my laptop suddenly cr*shing and wiping out everything I had stored)
Stay focused on my work always | I didn't know how to show this without having to spell it out in words so I Photoshopped my face onto the head of a woman working in a cafe because those who study in coffee shops along Katip always look like they're getting stuff done.
Keep learning about the world even when I'm outside of the classroom | And this is not limited to frequenting the nearby museum, although that does sound like a great idea right now. This could also mean attending seminars, workshops, and talks, buying books and binge-watching documentaries or YouTube videos about a topic that I find interesting, engaging in discourse with someone (plus points if they have a different viewpoint!)
Write my own book | Before I even found out that humans were destined to pick a career and work until they died, I already knew that I wanted to spend my days as a writer. Specifically, I wanted to see my name on the cover of a book: By Angel Martinez. (Please refer to the 4:32 of this video and look at how far this dream actually goes back.) But once I realized that I wanted to enter the world of business, I thought I would have to give this up altogether. Thankfully, I now know that one's ability to get published is not reliant on their career--I mean, even beauty gurus get book deals these days. I'm not really sure what it's going to be about but I'd honestly be down for anything: even if it's just a compilation of my best entries on this blog.
13. Go all out when I take myself on self-care dates | I'm talking about picnics at the beach, with a basket full of fruits, a posh looking hat, and a good piece of classic literature! Or fancy dinners for one complete with as many glasses of red wine as I can down! People watching at Downtown Disneyland like my paternal grandmother in hand, with a plastic bag of souvenirs on one hand and a cream cheese pretzel on the other! (The possibilities are endless and I'm already mapping most of them out.)
14. Be financially stable enough to re-enact that one scene in Pretty Woman where Vivian Ward struts down the streets of Beverly Hills in a chic white dress and black hat, an endless number of shopping bags in tow | The part where I humiliate a sales lady who snubbed me the day before because she didn't think I could afford what she was selling by saying, "You work on commission, right? That's right. Big mistake, big, huge." is entirely optional.
I also included some two inspirational sayings that were originally laptop wallpapers from The Everygirl. I feel like they perfectly sum up the attitude I want to have as I forge my own path and accomplish everything I have set out for myself. If I was somehow able to convince you that this activity serves as the perfect springboard for all your dreams and aspirations, here are a couple of tips that could hopefully help you make yours!
Be ready for some intense introspection | Though it may look like a simple arts and crafts activity at the surface, making an effective vision board simply cannot be achieved if you're not willing to do some much needed reflection and watch it balloon into a full-on existential crisis. Identify which areas of your life are most important to you and how you would like to see them evolve over a period of time.
Specificity is key | The trick is to make your goals as concrete as possible, then translate them into visual elements. I know some people who wanted to get into particular universities, who have Photoshopped their names onto acceptance letters and pinned those to their corkboards. As stupid as that may sound in retrospect, I reckon it's an elaborate way of claiming something that's right within your reach.
Design it any way you want | Don't feel pressured to make it look like it's worthy to be on someone else's Pinterest because that's exactly how you lose sight of why you're doing it in the first place. The only person your final output has to resonate with is you.
Don't get discouraged | Although a vision board can attract positive energy and manifest your intentions to the universe, one thing it isn't capable of doing is granting your wishes in an instant. Don't be upset if what you have cut out and stuck on has yet to happen: I truly believe in the saying that the more you look for something, the more it seems to avoid you. Instead, continue to work hard and focus on the progress that you have already made.
Have you made a vision board of your own already? How has it turned out, and how many of the things you had put up have come true? I know you may be a complete stranger from the other side of the world but I'd be happy to hear from you anyway! Wishing you love and light always, especially during trying times such as this. Wash your hands, pray for our frontliners, and check your privilege!

Ectober Day 26: High Score - This Is Not In Vain Chap.2: Look In Vein
Just how does he stack up?
After a bit they all separate, Danny looking around and rubbing his neck a bit awkwardly, “so I’m guessing you’re not too upset with me? Or freaked out?”.
Jack pats Danny’s shoulder as he sits down in one of the chairs, “that was very weird yes. But that’s normal for Fenton’s!”, throwing his hands out to the side slightly, “and you have powers! The flying was really cool! Everything was so small!”.
Maddie nods at Jack but worries her lip and looks at Danny, “it seems like you...get hurt a lot”, cupping the side of his face and visually inspecting his nose, “how do you even forget broken bones sweetie? And I’m not sure whether to be happy or bothered that you did a good job setting your nose”.
Danny chuckles and rubs over the bridge of his nose, which Maddie cringes at slightly but tilts her head, “it’s...healed”.
Danny drops his hand and gives a little nod, “yeah, um, I heal quick”, looking to his dad, “and yeah dad, flying’s great. It’s, well, it’s one of my favourite things”.
Jack grins wide at that, which Danny tilts his head over, “are you guys okay? that I like my, um, abilities? That I have them?”, shrugging and looking at the floor slightly, “I lied to you guys. For, like, a long time”.
At this they both promptly hug him again. Jack rubbing his back a bit, “son, Danny-boy, we’ve already decided we accept it. So long as you like it and accept it”.
Maddie nods as they pull back, “even if it’s quite strange and we have no clue how it’s possible. Though if I’m honest sweetie, it does seem rather wrong, you’re not a ghost”.
Danny frowns and looks away, nodding a little, “yeah I kind of figured. Ghost stuff, you don’t exactly like them”.
Jack clears his throat, “about that...That puppy really was a lot like a normal puppy! And Tucker said you actually have lots of ghost friends! And well, you wouldn’t be friendly with monsters. So we don’t know what to think on that”.
Danny blinks and looks at his dad wide-eyed, “he did what?!? Tuck”, Danny shakes his head, “I guess I did sort of tell you the same though. And his name’s Cujo, Dad”.
Jack blushes a bit at that but nods. Maddie decides to sit down too, so that Danny’s looking down at both of them, at least a little, hoping it makes him more open, “why though?“.
Danny rolls his eyes, “why not? They’re the same as humans, just with powers and more varied bodies”.
Maddie sighs, “I don’t know Danny. But you seem to be doing fine, skilled actually, so that’s your choice to make. We can support you without loving everything you do right?”.
Danny rubs his neck and gives a weak smile, “I mean, I guess? And yeah I’ve been getting into fights like that for a while”, glaring at the air slightly, “Walker’s one of few I actually hate. He also hates me”, shrugging, “mutualistic I guess”.
Maddie and Jack share a look, Jack patting Danny’s shoulder slightly, “we definitely don’t like him either. But about that, what did he mean by ‘half creature’? That sounds like an insult”.
Maddie nods and makes a point to smile slightly, “Tucker mention halfa, I know you didn’t really answer us when we asked about that, but you didn’t know it was us at that point”.
Danny sighs, “yeah that’s an insult dad. The whole halfa thing is part of why he hates me. And, um, I’m called that because of the powers and stuff, while still being, you know, alive”.
Both parents nod, it did make sense. It meant he was a bit ghostly. Maddie touches Danny chest lightly, “I’m guessing having a core makes you able to handle all the ectoplasm in you. There’s an awful lot more than we thought”.
“Heh heh, yeah and thanks for leaving that alone after the initial discovery, or whatever, of it. Core’s are kind of...sensitive”.
Both nod rapidly, Maddie speaking, “as soon as you mentioned it could freeze you over we made sure to leave it alone. Can it really do that?”.
Danny nods and rubs his chest slightly, “oh yeah it can. Pretty sure it nearly killed me. I have to use up its ecto-energy or it’ll freeze me basically”, Danny makes a fist and then opens it, revealing a little ice flower. Twirling it in his fingers and making more pelts form on it till it’s rather large.
Maddie takes it gingerly and spins it nothing ‘wow’, because it was incredibly pretty. Still so off that he could just make ecto-ice but not so bad.
Jack smiles, “you’re good at that! Guess you’d have to be! Seems like a strong power!”, tilting his head and glancing around the lab, “think we could see just how strong?”.
“I’m not turning the lab into an ice rink dad”, making everyone laugh a little.
Jack shakes his head with a smile after a bit, “I mean a meter reader Danny-boy. See just how much icy energy you can put out”.
Danny looks around and rubs his neck, “I dunno, I mean, I uh, um, okay, I am totally curious about that myself. But, like, your guys stuff, you know, saves the data and that would have been awkward. Though I mean, I have totally had Tuck use radar guns on me, you know, speed and that. Flying. Yeah”, shrugging, “doesn’t really matter now I guess. So I um, yeah. Okay”.
Maddie scrunches up her eyebrows, “is that a yes sweetie?”.
Jack beams and stands, “of course you’re curious! You’re a Fenton!”.
Danny nods at his mom while his dad busies himself finding things, “yeah, yeah it’s a yes”. Maddie gets up and kisses his forehead for that, whispering to him, “thanks for trusting us. We’re, especially Jack, a bit upset over finding out all this the way we did. On accident. We’d rather have you tell us on your own terms and knowing it was us. Even if it took longer”.
Danny smiles warmly at that, making a damn point to not tear up at all, “thanks. That means a lot”. Making a mock disgusted face as she kisses his forehead again. Before Jack comes over with what looks like a tuning fork attached to a big ass battery.
Danny sits down and chuckles a little, as Jack touches it to his chest, “no need to explain how it works. I’m familiar”, making both his parents smile. While Danny pushes his Core’s power at the machine. Thankfully he knew this stuff wouldn’t actually deplete his ectoplasm, none of their inspectors would. Humming a little as the machine beeps.
Jack blinks at the screen, a fair bit stunned, “wow Danny-boy! It’s strong! Strongest we’ve recorded actually!”.
Danny snorts, of course it was, figures. Looking over at the screen, “jeez that’s almost double the second highest?”.
They all look at each other before Jack glances to where all the other inspectors are. Danny, way too curious now, nods with a slight grin.
Maddie quickly clears the little side table before Jack dumps the inspectors on it. Danny chuckles, “you’ve built one for everything at this point. Why don’t you make something that’s universal?”.
Maddie quirks her lip, “we are actually. Just much more difficult”. She knew he never seemed to mind the ‘harmless’ inventions.
Danny dips his head, “logically”, as Jack slides over with an ecto-field reader. Which Danny hovers his arm over, easily feeling when he was close enough for it to be contacting it.
And just like before, way higher than every other reading.
From there it continues on much the same. Thing after thing, reading after reading; Danny’s consistently way higher than every other recorded level or score. This also results in Danny pretty well showing off his powers, being a little awkward about it at first but growing more comfortable at his folks not reacting poorly. He firmly decides against anything a little too weird for now. Duplication, body manipulation, the wail, his ghost form, and overshadowing. Even if overshadowing one of them would be really comedic right now.
Maddie eventually stands in-front of all the readings, it was a bit concerning but also incredibly funny. Danny seems to find it pretty funny for sure. Based on the smirking and snickering. Just the fact that the weirdly high readings were making him a bit more comfortable made her happy though. So it’s okay.
Shaking her head with a smile and looking at Danny, “you, a human, are stronger than every ghost we’ve ever recorded”.
Danny rubs his neck and looks around, before looking back with a slight smile, “Fenton’s and our weird huh?”.
Jack laughs, clapping Danny on the shoulder, “indeed! Ghostly weird is even more suiting! I can just imagine the looks of jealousy, shock, and some rage on the ghosties faces now!”.
Maddie ruffles his hair, and thinking of his skill in battle, “I’d say that most have an idea that you’re very strong. You clearly suspected”.
Danny shrugs, “pretty much yeah”.
Maddie makes a point of giving him a more stern mothering face, “not that I like you fighting on your own. Or that it’s actual fights instead of what we do”.
Danny shrugs, “usually it’s more like sparring. Testing each other’s skill and power sort of thing. A little bit of fun”, frowning, “not Walker though. He’s a prick. Same with Plasmius. Pricks, the both of ‘em”.
Jack raises an eyebrow, “what about that Skulker that you mentioned?”.
Danny tilts his head, “Skulker is kind of unique. What I was talking about back there, with him, his girl was insulting his hunting skills, again, so he decided to prove his skill by hunting me a bit more aggressively, again. Skulker’s basically a ghost hunter. Goes after anything ghostly that’s unique or rare. You know, like me. But he has more respect for strong worthy opponents, so it’s usually sparring between us. Frenemies”.
Jack chuckles, “a ghost who’s a ghost hunter! I’m still going to deck him though”.
Danny smirks, “aim for the head then. Very tiny ghost piloting a Mecha. You shrunk him once and I may have froze him in an ice-cube tray”.
Jack laughs again, “good then! Seems like you might have caught more ghosts than we have! What’s your scoreboard like?”.
Danny tilts his head, “huh?”.
Maddie smiles and ruffles his hair, “surely you keep track of how many you nab, or win against I guess”.
Danny screws up his face, snorts and then starts laughing. Shaking his head, “I gave up on that years ago, after a hundred it felt kind of pointless”, snorting again, “well, okay I keep score of the Box Ghost because it’s ridiculous”. This gets both of them to nod and laugh. All of them having frequently not even bothered to actually catch that one.
Maddie smiles, “I think everyone in town has a scoreboard for that one”.
Jack pokes Danny, hoping the question is obvious and clear. Danny nods, “fifty-two thousand and eighty-nine. Highest in one day was fifty-seven”.
Both cough, definitely startled. Danny was an overachiever.
Maddie smiles mischievously, “fourteen thousand and two”.
Jack smirks, “nine thousand on the nose”. Danny smirks at that.
Eventually, everyone goes up for food. And Maddie, watching Danny eat remembers something. Swallowing her food, “sweetie? Question?”.
“Yeah?”.
“I’m sure I felt fangs earlier. You don’t look to have any though?”.
Danny blushes and shifts a little, no point in not showing them. So he opens his mouth and extends them. Which Maddie goes a bit wide-eyed over. Closing his mouth and licking his tongue over them, “Iz pretty vwell only have them outz in fightz. Kinda hardy to eatz or talkz with them”.
Jack blinks a bit before laughing a little, which Danny blushes more over. Jack patting his shoulder, “I can see why! They’re way too big for your mouth!”.
Danny rubs his neck and chuckles, fangs noticeably still out, “Iz growz into them. Eventuallyz”.
Maddie ruffles his hair some, fangs was creepy and rather wrong to see on him but if he could be okay with it then so could she. Tilting her head a little, “isn’t fang size a bit of a status thing? Like wearing fur or well-tailored suits? Being naturally better looking?”.
Jack nods a bit erratically, “like high cheekbones? Or chiselled jaws?”.
Danny snorts and nods, “yezz, pizzzez Plazmiuzz offz”. Danny licks over his fangs again, having basically butchered Vlad’s last name. But this time even Maddie can’t help but laugh.
End.

Everlasting You | Connor x Reader
TLDR: Not everything lasts forever not even for an unending machine...
Word Count: 1.6k
TW: Heavy Angst, Mention of Death, Character Death
A/N:This is something I needed to get off my chest as certain feelings on humans and androids in relationships go. While I feel Connor himself is not immortal in the full sense he does not age. He may wear down as technology is known to do but the mortality of humans is clear. Probably the most angsty piece I have written thus far and I am supposed to be on break. My personal torture is real...| 200 follower Celebration Drop Still To Come
Touch. Everlasting touch: synth, tangible. This is how he shows his love.
Liquid, thirium is azure in bloom. This is how an angel dies.
Abstract in palette you swirl in his aura, so tangled and true this love drips from pert lips cool. Oh but so new they crave. Tender flesh bodily and warm collides with liquid, simulated but shed as you desire. See him as he is in his spurious state of being. Oh but he is alive, a different breed, a facsimile. Skim the surface and reach out to heaven, rich in chocolate of his adoring gaze.
Fire burns beneath cool, fingers ghosting upon the sweet flesh of you. No matter how frigid his skin may be still you incinerate under his thrall.
Meeting, becoming, one as moon and stars; Connor is yours. You are his.
Two heavenly bodies harmonize. He worships, the very air that is clinging to you and he wishes with every thread inside to be that air. Yet he is unworthy. In the end Connor knows how wrong he was to feel. If he could turn back time, no matter how agonizing to his deviant heart, he would never tell you. As long as it meant you live as you should.
Why must humans wither? Why must he suffer this?
Maybe he should cry for help.
“I died once, Y/N.”
The android’s breath is so soft, so fluid at first you think he might be dreaming. If androids can dream in that sense of subconscious domain, flutters within abstract functionality of the brain. His state of visionary quest is made up of code, memory data bank transforming into new visuals. He once suffered a nightmare about the Zen garden. It was not long after the first time you shared this bed together.
Breath is still as you gaze at his face. Flashing scarlet floods the beautiful azure that always draws you nearer. Into his shelter, this glorious shield all for you; tracing a fingertip around circular indicator steadies his stressful aura.
“Connor,” his name eclipses the sun. Sweet, full and forever on your breath it brings him home.
“I still recall,” he continues, tilting his face towards the delicate palm of hand. One that always offers affection, love most androids never knew existed for them. Even as a prototype, made to be special he only ever felt worth held by you.
“I recall the flutter of wind. Sailing, falling down listless as a sinker in the ocean. My memory was fresh then, new but uploaded to this body. This one that you have loved since our meeting.”
#313-248-317-52
Serials no longer mark him but he is Connor Mark II forever feeling, reliving a weightless drop. Felled from stories on high, slipping, slipping down until blackness; he is still wary of heights.
“I was still a machine then. Now as a deviant…death will truly claim me.” Even as Connor struggles there is nothing more real than what alights each destiny. This fated love will subsist infinitely.
Lips press against crimson, kissing the very android part of him. Accepting his veneer beneath the mask is easy when it is he himself you cherish. Love means never having to be alone. It means everlasting, impenetrable fortress shielding hearts as one.
“Nothing will ever take you away from me, Connor.”
He melts into the declaration. It is more. It is an oath. You believe it so much and Connor begins to realize those very words are a painful truth.
“I will love you forever, Y/N.”
He blames it on himself. This love will surely kill you. Stealing away everything you deserve: growing old together, having children…
You tell him no. No, this is what you want. This is all that you will want. No other thing in your personal world because he is yours ever since he confessed. Who are you to kid the world, lie to those heavens above? He was yours the moment your eyes met. Chocolate warmth a home, sweet home and contented abode for two.
First snowfall following revolution is a blissful, high priority memory. Stored away in his mind to examine, utilize as an escape from reality. You are his realism.
Flurries swirling, soft white powder crunching beneath soles. There you wait bundled up but still Connor feels the need to warm you. Enveloping in his arms, an eternal embrace that must live on until there is nothing left. Existence is a fixed point. Yours is meant for more but the android formerly sent by Cyberlife, the android who chose deviancy, to be alive, is selfish as any human. Selfishness tangles your human orbit to him.
Others may see you as a tiny satellite in a vast universe. To him you are more expansive than thousands of galaxies, rivaling any celestial heaven that may exist.
“Connor, where were you?” Demanding an answer it’s easy to see how upset and angry. It spills in fury overtaking any tears initially. For him to disappear this way! “Why did you just leave like that? Without telling anyone? I-I thought you…”
A soft breath answers his delicate touch against your cheek. Connor’s eyes brim in emotion, LED crimson spotlight, swiping tears off your face. “I needed to be alone,” he confesses. “To realize, Y/N.”
“Realize?” You repeat quiet in a fog of cold air.
“I love you.”
There is no sound. There is no world. Only this one shared between two. His declaration is fearful, conflicted perhaps but oh so true. Tears run anew. Streaming down your face, flooding this beating heart thudding only for one: Connor, the android sent by Cyberlife.
“Connor, I love you too.”
Slips of breath mingle in a fissure of atoms, natural and artificial, more than a kiss but a fusion of two souls. He owns the most beautiful of all. Whether he believes he possesses one or not, you believe. So much you believed and the rest of your life you gladly spend. All for that precious android, that man who loved.
And he loved you. He loved you until the stars faded away from the sky. As you fade with them, growing ever increasingly distant from his immortal coil. Yet he still yearned, still held, and still caressed you as those days when you first became lovers.
Nothing held him at bay from this burning inside a synthetic heart. This heart he gave to you and still you own it. Even as breaths slip away, Connor remains yours to this day.
Is there a heaven for androids? He ponders more each day.
Can he see you as he once did before? That young, beauty so soft, innocent and opposite of him: cold, emotionless, and constructed.
It was you that fed life through artificial veins. Wires, tendrils reaching beyond programming, reaching out in a song as you were his angelic soprano. Words of love he had never known. Until you he was merely a tool. To be used, controlled and torn asunder from deviancy he so chose. He did not flounder. He thrived. He lived.
He lived for you.
Now his life is broken, battered remnants long from those days when it was just the two of you together.
Maybe he should kill himself.
Tomorrow is too long. Nights are too empty. What must he do to see your face again? Why must he suffer for being made instead of born? All the android wants is for you to be alive once more. In his arms, whisper in his ear, giving him all of your love that he never deserved.
He stole you from it all. He stole your human life. All for selfish emotion in this disease of deviancy he wants to rip out from his system.
Deviancy is nothing anymore. Deviancy is a curse. He did not know he could cry until the day you drew your last breath. Streaming, grotesque down perfectly smooth, untainted, unwrinkled skin as you died a shell of your once vibrant self.
Connor seeks redemption in what he has done. What he took away from you. No life should have been lived beside him if he could not live beside you.
“Y/N, please…”
Tears run the sharp slopes of his face finding that spot originally of confession. No longer covered in snow but he sits alone, a mournful statue he sinks deeper into bench seat. Stress levels are too much. He wills them. He wants them…
Shutdown Imminent
“Forgive me,” Connor pleads with your essence. Seeing you alive in traces of fragmented memories, long before Sumo first passed, long before Hank; the android clings to your smile.
“I’m here, Connor.” The promise is sweeter than he remembers.
He leans into the touch of your hand. Gentle fingers mold with the harsh edges of his face that should have aged with you.
“I love you,” the android whispers, blind to shutdown warnings but never blind to you. Welcoming this true death, rising from seat in his mind, he can feel you. Solid as he places hands to the waist he would always long to grab playfully, tasting the lips he wills to be part of his system.
You are part of everything. This is your secret place. In his death from deviancy, wiping away everything he fought to become, dying most blissfully in your real embrace.
Snow falls then. Around your figures, wisps of constructed memories together in your own private Zen garden. Kissing you full, passionate and reclaiming those vows spoken so long ago.
Once again there is a smile upon his lips reunited with you in this blessed after life. Reunited as his constructed body is left behind, died from a broken heart, one that many humans might find miraculous in something not alive.
This-this is heaven after all. Androids really do find their way in. Connor found his way back to you in this glorious sail beyond the veil.
Sail with me into the dark….
Sail…

On The Map
Of all the apps I use on my phone, of all the sites on the internet, there is one that I use perhaps as much as all the others put together: Google Maps. I use my custom Google Maps to organize my life, my adventures, my ambitions. It gets me to where I want to be. And even when I know the way from A to B beyond a shadow of doubt, I still use it for navigational purposes if only to alert me of delays and hazards ahead, as well as my ETA.
But one of the best features of Google Maps is Google Street View, or GSV. Have you ever seen those Google cars out driving up and down every street in a city? They’re not just out having fun. They are photographing everything with a special rooftop device that has seven 20 megapixel lenses, for a total of 140 megapixels of coverage.
The result is the ability to “streetwalk” online or in the app without even being there. Better yet, Google archives all of their return trips so we effectively have a visual record of how our streetscapes have evolved over the years. Going forward, I predict GSV to be the premier record of everything. It’s almost like we don’t need to be taking pictures of buildings and such like people did in decades past, because Google is doing it for us.
Since its launch in 2007, Google cars have now documented and mapped many millions of miles around the world. Well, except for Germany and Austria.

How’s that?
It all boils down to privacy, and depends on nation and culture. In the US, where there is very little guarantee of privacy, especially once you venture outdoors, in Germany and Austria there are the lingering memories of the Third Reich and communist East Germany. Those memories are still too recent, and people in both nations value their privacy, even though they have few squabbles with nudist beaches. Apparently they’re OK with letting others see their nether regions and things we can’t flaunt over here, but don’t want to take the risk of anyone randomly photographing them out and about.
In clothes. Yeah. Go figure.
So GSV has only small portions of Germany and Austria documented. Apparently, Google just gave up and said, “Y’all figure this out on your own.” It makes me wonder, though, whether they would be OK with GSV if everyone were walking around naked everywhere, because, you know, they don’t fret about that.
Google has been a good citizen in the US, though, by volunteering to blur out identifying features, like license plates, faces, and sometimes business names that are captured. They will even blur your house if you ask.
At a broader level, GSV puts the thorny issue of privacy front and center. We know that our data are being collected at every turn online. We know that our smartphones are just as much a beacon to our whereabouts as they are communication devices. But we probably aren’t thinking about a little car coming along with cameras on the roof. Even with blurred license plates and faces, there can often be enough identifying information to make a match, which could be problematic if you have something to hide. I’ll just leave that there.
Still, we Americans are comfortable with our overall lack of privacy. Maybe it’s because we never endured the tragedies the Germans and Austrians did. Maybe it’s because we’re just a very trusting society. Or maybe we’ve just thrown up our hands and realized that train left the station when the iPhone came, which, incidentally, shares a birth year with Google Streetview.
Coincidence? Perhaps. But then again, maybe not.
Either way, I’m heading out shortly for a day trip through the southern part of the Texas Panhandle. I am photographing old theaters and drive-ins to illustrate a two-part article I am writing for Panhandle Magazine. And, of course, I built a custom Google Map for the project. As soon as I start rolling down the driveway, I push the first pin and tell the app to navigate me to it. Tulia Texas, I’ll see you shortly.
And if any of y’all see me out and about, I’m good with it, even Google. Because I’m just the crazy guy with a camera. Wearing clothes, of course.

An Inner Circle First-Timer’s Concert Experience In Seoul [#WINNEREverywhereTourinSeoul]
So. If you tell me freakin’ one year ago if I’d be flying to Seoul for a Kpop concert, I’d smack you for slander.
Buuuuut here we are, a week after WINNER’s Everywhere Tour in Seoul :))))) I’ve just begun to recover. Literally, it took me a week to get through the stages of mourning and to accept that it’s over HAHAHUHU
Anyway, here’s my (and Liz’s) experience in attending a concert in Seoul!
---
Why we wanted to see them in Seoul (when it was sure they were gonna go to MANILA anyway):
1. It’s Liz’s annual bday trip gipp!! Or idk, this is part of the rationalization we thought of AHAHA. Initially, we were set for Singapore as it would be way cheaper for sure, but another reason came up....
2. We wanted to see them in their most “comfortable” version - Not sure if comfortable is the word, but I guess we wanted to see them how they were in their home country?? Speaking comfortably in Korean and all? We were anticipating that for other countries it would probably be just Yoon speaking most of the time (not that it’s a problem with us HAHA), and we wanted to see all them four being their natural makulit presence on stage (without them thinking about the language hinderance--even if kami yung hindi makaintindi sa kanila :)))) I know it’s a weird reasoning but :)))) And it’s been a long time since they’ve done a full concert in Seoul! We just wanted to be there in the kickoff concert. I mean, if we were willing to fly out to see them, o di todo na namin diba? Seoul it is!
--
How we got the tickets:
Here’s the thing: this is not our first rodeo. We’ve already successfully watched Coldplay in Singapore last year after (WHAT I THOUGHT WAS ALREADY) a bloody online ticketing war. Coldplay tickets were wiped out in 20 minutes, I think? But I was able to secure 7 tickets (3 VIP standing, 4 upper box tickets) after much death and resurrection.
We thought we were prepared for a WINNER ticketing war lol. We were not. Everything (or at least the seats we targeted) was more or less gone in less than 4 minutes.
There were two waves, one week apart. Both of them were intense :)))) I guess our third-world country internet cannot compete with their 5G data network?!
A HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to Cams and Dianne for basically hand-holding me throughout the entire process of securing tickets from Seoul!! T_T Without them, we probably wouldn’t have gotten tickets. All transactions were smooth and hassle-free. There were a lot of K-ICs who also wanted G-ICs to attend the Seoul concert and thus were purchasing tickets so scalpers can’t get to them first. They also helped me with tips and advice on where to stay, where to go, etc etc as it was our first time in Korea. Sobrang bait and helpful nila as in! T_T
---
Of course that was only half of the problem:
In less than a month, we had to book flights (ANG MAHAL NA NITO SIYEMPRE), book hotel (Thank you Agoda for your occasional flash sales) and of course, VISA. We highly recommend TravelPros for your Korean visa processing needs! We spent around 700 pesos for this, and we got the visa in exactly 6 days. Super fast. Pero may drama pa kami dun sa visa requirements LORD HAHA pero hindi ko na kwento haba na nito. BASTA when we got the visa I wanted to throw a fiesta, ganung level =))
---
CONCERT D-Day~~~
We wanted to get in early-ish because we were anticipating the DVD / merch line.
The train was a bit confusing for this stop!! We knew we were not the only ones because some of the Koreans were also confused where to get off haha

This ad greeted us before the exit!
Entering the Olympic Park Stadium~

Sure enough the line was at least 500m already when we arrived at around 10:45.
AAAAAND YES I lined up for 2 hours for the DVD 0_0 Under the heat of Korean summer 0_0

Questions in my mind while in queue:
1. why does everyone look so fresh except me
2. how to spot foreigners: they use umbrellas for the heat
3. Don’t be weak
4. why am I doing this again
Anyway, tada~

Let’s just ignore the part where if we waited until 3pm, or at least when the line tapered off, I could have gotten it without the sunburn on my batok but where’s the fun in that no?

Liz and teh boyfriend lined up for merch (mercifully it was shorter) and they were able to buy 2 lightsticks (OUR FIRST ONES YAY! Hirap daw lagyan ng battery lol) and shirts (X and XL lang ang available sizes but it still works out!?? What is this Korean sizing sorcery?!)
---
All the cafe / restos were full (Mamamoo was also having a concert that day!) so we had to settle for convenience store food :))) It wasn’t bad!
Met Cams and lots of other PH-ICs who travelled from MNL! You can check out #ICsPHGoesToSeoul to see what everyone was up to while in Seoul.

We got a lot of fans (as in pamaypay) from different fansites (and thus we didn’t have to line up, yay!) and actually saw the faces behind big accounts* HAHA it was surreal.
Actually, the whole thing was pretty surreal (YA THINK) in a good way. Since it’s our first time to attend a KPop concert, we didn’t know a lot of things. One of those was... lining up for freebies given by fansites.
Girl, INTENSE. As in, pila kung pila ang mga bagets and not-so bagets. Paano naman kasi ang cute ng freebies! Fans, stickers, photocards, etc. Looking back feeling ko dapat pumila/bumili kami BUT holehhhshit it was really so hot, and after lining up for 2 hours we wanted to just save our energy.
Super tita namin right?!
Also most of the masternims who were offering their freebies were all speaking in Korean (malamang) so we didn’t know if it was free or for sale... AH BASTA MAGULO isip namin hahaha yeaaaah looking back we should have at least tried BUT yun nga, it was really too damn hot to walk around talaga. Maybe next time!! (next time talaga?!)
Kill time! We just randomly sat anywhere we could #ifItfitswesits

At some points, we could hear the sound check so medyo spoilery siya (we heard Jinwoo’s solo performance HAHA) at the same time we were like OMG 0_0
---
FINALLY TIME TO ENTER!

Our seats were 2F (as in second floor). We were initially planning to aim for 1F but giiiiiirl waley. 2F wasn’t that bad! Ang nasa isip ko MOA Arena levels where it’s too high up. This was okay (as if may choice kami HAHA). 1F would be the best seats talaga. Standing is a gamble because there’s a chance you won’t be able to see anything BUT the interactions that WINNER made with the standing group was really worth it :))))) WATCH THE FANCAMS IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT I MEAN
I tried to use MIXLR for the first time pala, since I wanted to kinda pay it forward. The first time I “experienced” a WINNER concert was through Cami’s Fukuoka?? mixlr concert and back then I thought, it’s amazing that someone would really try to share this experience with us that can’t make it to the concert.
(Now that I’m replaying my mixlr, I AM SORRY FOR THE THOUSAND OMGs I SAID =)))) I swear I’m more coherent than that--except when you know, Mino was body rolling live, Hoony was lifting his shirt to reveal his perfect 6-pack abs, Jinwoo with his ethereal voice and stage presence, and Yoon’s powerful vocals and performance. Wala na talaga ako masabi kung hindi OH MY GOD =)))) So I’m not sure if I’ll ever mixlr again hahaha kasi marami naman who does it and is more pro about it??? let’s see :)))
Here are some notable thoughts I remember from the concert (sorry more Tagalog here because all the feels)
1. ANG GWAPO NILANG LAHAT. I mean, fo sure I didn’t stan them for visuals (promise talaga! It was really about the music. Sawain ako sa visuals actually) BUT hooooshit. They are different irl. I’ve seen them before in NAIA airport for like.... 10 seconds and like I knew they were really good-looking. BUT ON STAGE. IN FULL PERFORMANCE GLORY. THEIR VISUALS ARE INSANE.
youtube

2. SOLO STAGES. WHERE TO BEGIN. I didn’t know I’d see Mino perform Body live ever (I thought he had retired the song and I’ve accepted it) BUT GOOD LORD. The “mashup” for Body and TOTL was just made to be together. The stage and performance was oozing with sexiness and charisma and my mind was just a puddle at this point. Mino doesn’t do full-on sexy very often (am I right? It’s like between deliberate sexy and swag, he’d go for more swag) so when he did this... live... the body rolling... the kinda grinding.... we died.

3. JINWOO. Jusko. Where to start with Jinwoo. I’m rewatching our fancam of his Untitled 2014 performance and it’s the only one who made me feel goosebumps. Especially the part where he went up the stairs and the spotlight was on him, and he was singing so passionately and the audience was just in complete awe. IT WAS A MAGICAL MOMENT I CAN’T EXPLAIN. It’s like as he walked up the stairs and sang, it was like he was taking his rightful place as a superstar. Jinwoo is not even my bias but I super kaduper want him to succeed and become more confident with this abilities (I am speaking from someone who watched Who is Next haha). After his solo stage, my immediate first thought was: JINWOO IS READY TO HAVE A SOLO ALBUM.

4. YOON’S SOLO STAGE. Lol I cried. Ever since I’ve heard It Rains (his solo song), I’ve wanted to hear it live, but I didn’t expect that he’d sing it ever again--maybe he’d sing Wild and Young but not It Rains. The arrangement was “simple” but the experience was HOLY. As in, it was like angels were singing. His clear and strong voice filled the whole arena. The adlibs he did were insane. Literally it was like going to church. The lights and the background visuals were stunning. Sobrang full on drama / rocker Yoon mode! It is something to behold live. Also... INSTINCTIVELY. I also never thought I’d see Yoon perform with a guitar ever again. (Ang drama?? never talaga?? hahaha but I never know with Yoon kasi! He’s so experimental with genres that when he’s already done something already, it might take a long time for him to comeback [in this case, to his rocker roots]). When he took off his blazer... BAKLA SIGAW TALAGA AKOOOOooooo =)))) Looking at him perform like this, I can’t believe he didn’t go solo. I know he’s happier with a group (and I am thankful) but his presence as a solo artist is still very much there. I hope Yoon can release his solo album soon because Liz and I will definitely fly again to Korea when that happens!!! :)

>>>[OPEN FOR A SURPRISE]<<<
Grabe thissss pic.twitter.com/AvxeuT4Xoh
5. HOON. How so even begin writing about Deputy Lee’s stage. He performed Ringa Linga (modified with Hoon’s rap which was a cool touch I think) and Serenade (EVERYONE’S WAITING FOR THIS). I don’t know where haters get the idea that Hoon can’t dance. Like... are you guys BLIND?!?!? He’s one of the most naturally gifted dancers I’ve ever seen--because he dances to feeling**, not with just choreo. Ringa Linga was a perfect choice for him because he was able to showcase his vocals, dancing prowess and abs all at the same time. The dance breaks were insane. AND MY GOD, Hoon’s body is perfection. His arms, torso, legs... ART.
6. The costumes, lights (LIGHTS), pyrotechnics, over-all stage design was just A++++. I don’t know why I thought it was going to be a much simpler stage but they really went all-in with everything.

7. The nebula ocean was beautiful. I keep saying in the mixlr... “I’ve never seen so many Inner Circles in my entire life” because it’s true! For some reason there is a notion that we are a small fandom and maybe that’s true compared to others... but we are not less powerful. At least 99% of seats were taken, the standing was packed. Everyone was doing the fanchants. Almost everyone had the lightstick. It was humbling and inspiring to see all the fans who love WINNER come together in one venue, screaming their voices out and singing to the songs (while still being respectful and attentive to each stage performance).
4winner 4ever 💙💙💙💙#WINNEREverywhereTourInSeoul pic.twitter.com/dKXYst03v4
8. The boys really love each other. As in, you can feel their chemistry and their teamwork onstage. Of course, I don’t understand the ments while it was going on (by now I’ve seen the translated fancams of course) but I can definitely tell from their body language and the way they regard each other that they are brothers. And they were just so happy! Running to and from the stage, taking fan’s phones, they were on FULL-ON fanservice. I could feel the love from where I was sitting.

9. I want to pick my favorite stages but I don’t know how. It was surreal to shout “Neol johahae!” for REALLY REALLY and answer Hoon’s pizza pasta so so with “YUM YUM!” =))))) Sobrang surreal na nangyayari siya sa harapan ko at hindi sa Youtube (with subtitles). Love Me Love Me stage was super cute, Moviestar was tear-inducing. Speaking of Movie Star, the fan event was so funny! They were really surprised because it happened right smack in the middle (usually it happens at the end, but they were expecting it kasi). All four of them were very confused and I feel like they really didn’t see the video as much because they were busy being... confused with what was happening. But when they understood they look like they were touched and slightly cross that we were able to fool them HAHA.
Also:
MINYOON MINYOON MINYOON
10. There were many cute moments of ICs that I witnessed. Like, before the concert started, they were playing WINNER songs on the screen. Then suddenly, Body was played. Inner Circles all screamed =))) BASTA SOBRANG FUNNY. During Mino’s kissing scene, half of ICs were turned on, half were saying “Nooooo” =))) Then during encore, we were supposed to sing We Were (as in the whole song). When it was already the second stanza, the singing became softer and softer, because it was apparent that ICs haven’t memorized the lyrics. Everyone laughed hard. IT WAS SOOOOOO CUTE T_T
BONUS:
After the concert, we kinda rushed to the back exit to wait for WINNER. Lol it took more than an hour for them to come out (of course lots of picture-taking, maybe even speeches for the team, etc etc). We saw Yang Hyun Suk (ICs began to chant his name too #insidejokefromtheconcert and sure ako labas sa ilong yun hahaha), PO, Jinwoo’s dad, Yoon’s mom, most of the dancers (Gahee my love were you there) to name a few.
Again, it was a tender moment because the van was supposed to “cover” their exit from the door, but the fans cried “Noooo” and begged security to let us see them :)) So after a few minutes, the van adjusted its position, so WINNER could walk out and wave to the crowd outside. They looked very very very happy and thankful to see us. <3
---

We met with some of the PH-ICs again to talk about the concert IN TAGALOG PARA TODO YUNG FEELS :))) I can’t wait to see everyone again in November!
---
Aaaaand by 12 am we were back in our hotel after getting lost in Dongmyo exit HAHA. Can’t blame us, all our braincells were left in the Olympic Park Stadium :)) It was really a memorable experience that we hope we can repeat for sure on November (WHICH IS MY BIRTHDAY MONTH). Aiming for nearer seats this time, but let’s see what the universe will give us.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I thought if I finally see WINNER live I’d be finally scratching an itch--like I’ve already see them live and that’s that. But NOOOOOooooooOOOOOooo. It’s completely the opposite. Now YouTube and mixlrs are not enough anymore T_T When you’ve seen them live... you just want to repeat the experience over and over again.
To all Inner Circles still reading up to this point: CONGRATS and THANK YOU:))
Also, my god. You can forget everything you’ve read up to this point but just remember this.
SEE
THEM
LIVE.
See them live.
I am not kidding around. You should, at least once in your life. Even if it’s just General Admission ticket or the farthest seat***. It’s different when you are in the same venue and you see them performing LIVE right in front of your very eyes. In my opinion, Yoon’s voice is 10x better live---recording absolutely does not do him justice. Same with the Mino, Jinwoo and Hoon. Their vocals, dance skills, over-all charisma cannot be simply captured by the camera. YOU HAVE TO SEE THEM LIVE TO KNOW WHAT I MEAN, WHY I’M SO ADAMANT ABOUT THIS :)))) I’ve seen performers that are exactly the same live as they are in YouTube or sound the same like Spotify but I can say with complete confidence: not WINNER. I can say their true strength is live performance.
I’m sure I’ve missed a lot but this is becoming a research-paper already HAHA so I’d end it here. SO glad we pushed for this trip, so blessed that everything worked in our favor (we were the last flight out before the NAIA airport incident happened huhu) and we’re already looking forward to November in MNL****! :)
till then bye~
P.S. If you want to chika more or need me to translate the Filipino bits lol just hit me up on teh Ask :)
*we saw at least 2 big Yoon masternims that we avidly follow talaga, 2 european ics we follow (lol “european” what is dead giveaway lol) and 1 of the 3 japanese KSY fans we also like HAHA so cute T_T
** I’m not a dancer, but my boyfriend is, and I remember him saying that personally he has more respect for dancers who dance according to what he feels--because it’s one of the highest forms of expression (as opposed to just relying with choreo). It’s a testament to a dancer’s ability that he/she is able to catch the beat without “thinking” about it too much--so the dance becomes the story of the dancer, not the choreo. LOL I think I’m botching his explanation about it but it’s just I remember Hoon whenever my boyfriend and I talk about freestyle dance.
*** Of course it you can’t make it due to various reasons that’s okay, but if you have a chance to make it happen, don’t hesitate. I’d say it’s worth every penny you’d spend to see them live.

Chasing Sweets; Hux x Reader AU 2/?
A/N: Um... I think I’m going full on Hux and Phasma BFFs. Which...now that I’m reading the Phasma novel is so supremely OOC for her...um, but I don’t care.
PART 1
The thing is...no one has ever flirted like that with him. The girl is… clearly beneath him. And her ideas about the First Order are almost treasonous. But...no one has ever flirted with him so openly and without guile or ambition. He’s used to elegant whores fawning on him for his creds. He’s used to the imperial dainties pushed at him by his relatives. They all want something from him: money, status, power. This girl just seemed to...fancy him.
It is endearing. That’s why he decides to visit the bake shop again. It’s been two months, for all he knows the girl won’t remember him. It doesn’t matter in the slightest, he’s just satisfying his curiosity. That’s what he tells himself as the door chime rings and he steps into the sugar scented air of the bakery.
You spend the first few nights after your meeting watching out for a tall, handsome officer with flaming red hair. When he doesn’t appear you figure his leave ended and you won’t see him again. You breathe a bittersweet sigh as you arrange cupcakes and scones, but you reason that it’s for the best. You kind of made an ass out of yourself in front of him. You...basically insulted the First Order while simultaneously flirting ridiculously with him. What did you expect? He’d rush in and declare his love?
A week goes by and you determine to cast the memory from your head. Still, every once in a while you’ll remember something particularly embarrassing that you said and a grimace of phantom humiliation will arrest you momentarily. One night a couple of rowdy First Order types come in when you’re about to close. You offer them the pick of what you have left, discounted, and watch as they make their decisions.
“Come on Rayfe, I’d like to make it Matron Jakki’s before the good ones are all gone!” one of them gripes while Rayfe lingers over the eclairs. You cringe at their crassness and just start to box up the lot for them. The quicker they’re gone the quicker you can close up and go home.
They pay and start their meandering way out of the shop.
One of them grumbles in what you presume is meant to be an amorous manner, “Can’t wait to get my hands on Bethy’s round little…”
The other one guffaws and responds, “I’m just glad to be free of that great Ginger asshole, Hux! Finally have some fun…”
They wander out and you’re left standing behind the display counter frozen in place. Hux. That’s the First Order’s top general, right? The angry guy who’s always shouting in all his speeches? Did he have red hair? He couldn’t be...You feel a tremor in your hands as you dig around in a drawer and pull out your beat up old data pad. It takes a few minutes but you pull up a grainy visual feed of one of General Hux’s speeches. And...yeah. It’s Armitage...your ginger-haired, shortbread crush.
Yikes.
***
It’s a blessing that you’ll never see him again. How are you supposed to behave around a man like that? He’s rumored to be vicious and unforgiving. You’re lucky he didn’t put you under arrest for the things you said about his speeches. Now you can just go on with your life, making delicious treats for the rich and famous.
And then he walks into the shop. It’s near closing so he’s once again the only patron. You freeze behind the counter, eyes wide as saucers and mouth agape.
“Oh,” you say, intelligently. “It’s you. Um, hi.”
Armitage laughs lightly under his breath and approaches the counter, resting his large elegant hands on the glass.
“Hello, Y/N,” he greets. And then just stands there looking at you. Right. Conversation. That thing that used to come so naturally.
“Um… hi, Armitage. Hux! General, sorry. Should I, err...salute you or curtsey or something?” There it is. You knew you couldn’t lose your babble for long.
His smile wilts a little at your awkwardness.
“You can just call me Armitage, Y/N. Have you got any more of those cookies?”
“Cookies?” Oh! Right… “Cookies! Because...bakery. Yes, yes I do. Oh, wait, no, sorry! They weren’t selling so well and I didn’t know you’d be in so I didn’t prepare any. If you want I can make some right now while you wait. It’ll just be...uh, forty minutes or so…”
Armitage looks at you like you’ve grown another head and you realize you’re having a bit of a meltdown. It’s just… now that you know who he is, you cannot believe how disparaging you’d been about the First Order.
Without prompting, you launch into an apology, “And… I just want to say that I am so sorry about making fun of your speeches. Had I known...well, of course… but, you know I went back and listened to one again. *Not* scary at all. Actually I found it...awe inspiring, that’s the word. Very inspiring and...and moving and…”
Armitage sighs, digging his fingers into his temples as if to alleviate a sudden headache.
“Y/N?” he asks.
“Yeah?”
“Stop. You don’t need to pander to me, I’m not about to throw you in a cell. I came here for sweets! And...you seemed so irreverent when we met previously I really didn’t think I’d have to deal with this here…”
He turns to leave but you rush around the counter and put a hand out to stop him. Your fingers grasp the warm, heavy fabric of his jacket preventing him from leaving.
“I’m sorry, Armitage. Let me get you a cake or something, please. And if you really want to know...it’s not just you and your title...I’m always this awkward,” with that you give him your cheekiest grin. It appears to be your secret weapon because he gives in and lets you drag him into a seat near the counter.
“Now,” you say turning your back on him to examine your selection. “What do we have that’s worthy of the *great General Hux*”
You turn your head to give him a grin over your shoulder, letting him know you’re teasing. He harrumphs from his seat but sits politely while you hem and haw before finally selecting a sweet cake crowned with the most violently sparkly pink frosting Armitage has ever seen. You set it in front of him with a smirk.
“That is…” he trails off searching for a word, “beyond undignified.”
“Don’t worry,” you say, producing two forks from a pocket in your apron, “I’ll help you eat it.”
***
It’s a few hours later before the bell chimes again and Hux walks back out onto the street. He’s been sitting chatting with a treasonous baker and sharing a cake with her for the whole night. Phasma would be laughing her head off if she knew how foolish he’d been. He pushed the thoughts aside and proceeded down the street, unable to extinguish the smile on his face.
The comm link in his pocket buzzes and he reaches for it. A message from Captain Phasma wondering why it’s taking him so long to get to Matron Jakki’s. He stuffs the comm back in his pocket and hurries along the avenue. The night *is* still young and he really should keep up appearances. He can’t be seen to be visiting a leisure planet just to chat up a baker.
***
