this morning we had car trouble (oil light kept turning on, even after refilling), now we have water leaking down our living room wall because the drain for the washing machine wasn't placed correctly.
I've been bawling my eyes out all afternoon. I am so incredibly tired and hormonal, my brain just crashes.

TVLINE Performer of the Week Feature 5/13/23
I bet you all thought I missed this -- or wouldn't post this. BUT NO! You're not that lucky!
I did retweet on Twitter because it was quicker, but I had a houseguest, so haven't fully gotten to enjoy and appreciate this. We live in a golden age of television -- and really, a full-on golden eon at this point -- so there have definitely been eps where I was like, "How did his performance not get on more radars?" But this ep and this performance had me, once again, thinking, "Okay, but if there's not at least an honorable mention, they're just not watching..." Matt's doing the recap of the ep seemed really promising, and he even retweeted this pick but not others, so I'm guessing it was his. He wrote a very lovely paragraph at the link if you want to check it out.
Anyway, outside of Tumblr, plenty of recaps, reviews, discussions, and comments thought this ep was a great one and made a lot of people's top lists for the series. Still debating on if I'll type anything up more fully, but I think that wherever you are on the spectrum of All Things Hetty and All Things Abuse Apologists, Chris O'D's performance in it helped cover any gaps left by moments/dialogue whose emotional weight didn't hit the way they intended to for everyone.
I'll stop for now, but only because I need to try and get more sleep.

You know that feeling? The one where you turn off the basement lights and feel the need to run up the stairs away from whatever's in the dark? Or staring down at the darkness below and trying to get the courage to go down the stairs? It's nice to have movies like Barbarian (2022) that validate that fear.
