They're blind if they don't see that about Sokka! Like. The other three kids would blatantly waste DAYS at a time, despite their very tight time limit, on whatever random bullshit captures their fancy. They literally planned vacations and even he got caught up in it but like......it's absolutely herding cats. You even see this problem in miniature, with Toph having to constantly hound Aang into earthhbending training. They're all flighty n distractible ish and avoidant in their own ways but Aang is very much the worst and yet also the most prioritised member who overrules Sokka regularly "for fun".

yeah I mean i was just so confused by that response bc it was such a bad faith misreading of what I had actually said, and also just a blatantly incorrect reading of the text??? I think a large swath of this fandom has a very surface level interpretation of the show (which is understandable, most people are not as invested in understanding the nuances of this show while still enjoying it, thats perfectly fine) while also just cherry picking the parts they like/latch onto and distorting the parts they found less compelling to suit whatever narrative they’ve crafted for themselves. which I suppose is their prerogative as audience members, but it’s frustrating to me as someone who thinks analytic work should always stem from understanding the text as holistically and completely as possible. normally I try to ignore such misinterpretations, since if I didn’t I would literally get no sleep, and yknow, I have a life. but i could see people’s tags in my activity feed turning this argument into a moral issue in which my very character was attacked (someone literally said “comradekatara and their followers are bs” which makes it sound like im running a cult or smth. yikes) and so I felt the need to clarify and defend myself in a way that I usually don’t when angry zutarapilled weirdos go on and on about how evil I am lmfao

anyway, to your point, sokka is absolutely herding cats. he is constantly trying to get them to be as economical with their time and stay as safe as possible, and they just straight up refuse to listen to him. I see people make arguments that sokka “wasted time on kyoshi island” by training with suki, but a) I don’t think receiving formal training for like the first time in his life is a waste of time and b) aang was clearly the one who insisted on staying there, sokka would’ve left whenever, but aang really liked it there, and considering this was right after he discovered that his entire people had been wiped out, it’s not exactly like sokka and katara can be like “no more fun for you!” the only other instances i can think of of sokka wasting their time is in “the ember island players” when he makes them all go spend two hours watching a play that they absolutely loathe. in fairness, I think sokka and suki should’ve realized that their friends (besides toph) would not enjoy such an event, but the episode would be way less effective if it had been just them watching it, so for metatextual reasons I’ll let it slide. (and fwiw, sokka’s training with piandao took two, three days at most, so it clearly wasn’t smth that interfered with the schedule.)

so yeah, my original point about sokka herding cats seems pretty obvious to me considering how many detours aang and katara constantly insist on taking (and arguably toph too, but she’s generally less resistant to sokka’s ideas). but then that person had to go and act like I said something I didn’t, and then add on a bunch of incorrect analysis to boot. truly, genuinely, weird behavior. the “momtara who does all the work and singlehandedly raised these children including sokka and has never once had fun in her life because she is struggling under the weight of being the most mature & reasonable fourteen year old girl who ever lived (and also that’s why this one spoiled prince who can’t even hammer a single nail would be such a good boyfriend for her because he loves doing dishes and is so emotionally intelligent & articulate)” koolaid is strong I guess.

and yeah… i mean they could just be more private if they are in a relationship, but the way they were at the end gave me more the impression that they were choosing to get to know each other and see if anything happens more so than deciding to be a couple on the spot… and maybe they tried, maybe they didn’t, maybe it didn’t work out and nothing became of it and all that is fine. if you’re asking me, I don’t think anything did come of it, bc I just didn’t see enough chemistry on the show and they had enough time to develop something maybe not to 2sung levels but at least to become familiar with each other, and it just never felt like they were. and i hate to say this but… a little part of me wonders if hyungjin was just a choice that wasn’t hyungjun yknow, like after all that went down between the two, I don’t know if he just more resolutely wanted to not choose hyungjun, and it’s just more rewarding for the show for him to at least go with the other person. I said it about seonwoo before, it’s not satisfying for the show if the popular person that many people go after ends up with no one, and they’d already had it happen with seonwoo, so minseong had to end up with someone, but I think the pressure of it all might have got to him and made him reluctant to start anything after, or just changed his impression of both of them.

and since this has been sitting in my drafts, all their instagram posts have been published and I can’t help but read into the fact that minseong and hyungjun aren’t present with the group at the same time, which is understandable, it might be awkward, and that hyungjin is like so noticeably missing from all these posts. it’s not even that he hasn’t posted anything with minseong or about him to show whether they’re still together, he just isn’t part of these meet ups and I don’t wanna read into the details of their friendships bc now it’s outside the show it does feel more intrusive and like… this is actually real life and not manufactured for me to watch and so I don’t wanna dissect it, and he did post with yonghee, but there always is one it feels like, it’s the same with the first season, and it’s not bad, maybe you just don’t wanna be friends with people, that’s absolutely fine, but when it comes to minseong, I just think it shows that this whole thing that was built up around him ultimately lead to nothing, the show would just never want to admit that.

Ok, please explain the your theory about 1D reuniting at Michael and Crystal’s wedding?? You can’t just drop that in the tags and not explain. Were there pictures? I’ve never seen pictures of any pictures of any of the 1D guys there. If this really happened and they actually released pictures onto the internet, then I’m shocked that I haven’t seen them yet, since the we get private pictures of Harry at the weddings of family and non famous friends all the time.

It’s weird to me that all the 1D guys try to downplay their friendships after the band split. They reel us that they talk but they try not to admit to hanging out in person. At least that what I and some fans suspect: they spend a lot more time together than they show us. About a year ago Niall finally confirmed that a picture of him and Harry at a park wearing masks in 2021 really was them hanging out. So we know they hangout in pairs. Those of us that think Larry and Ziam are going strong assume those guys live together when they aren’t traveling for work. I think all five guys in 1D are still friends and hangout sometimes, but I have no proof.

Similarly, I feel like none of the 1D guys act like they are close to any of the 5SOS guys anymore, and Vice Versa. I saw an interview a few years ago where Ashton said he ran into Niall while hiking around LA and they said “hi” but didn’t talk or hangout more than that. That could be true, but it seems odd to me that 5sos don’t hangout with Niall more in particular, since Wikipedia tells me they all own homes in the same neighborhood in Laurel Canyon in LA. Ashton just moved, so maybe that’s not the case anymore. I get the impression that Harry, Louis, Liam and Zayn all spend most of their free time in England when they aren’t traveling, and they go to LA mostly for work. But I think Niall and Shawn have made LA their home base.

okay. so. with the caveat that I know very little about the guys from one direction. I'm going solely off this clip I saw on Instagram (don't know the source of, guessing it was some interview or livestream) where michael is talking about his wedding. he talks about how luke and sierra did a song for him, and then someone asks about one direction reuniting for it and he's like yeah, i think he said they performed a song but my memory is a little fuzzy, maybe they just came idk. i know michael and crystal did get married in secret in a ceremony that was smaller than planned due to covid, i'm not 100% sure if they did a bigger reception thingo later or not, but they didn't share any pictures until about a year later and even then, not that many. i'm guessing they didn't want to share pics of everyone who was there bc they knew how this would go down?? either that or i imagined the whole clip which is--not completely impossible. I'm pretty sure it happened though and I don't see why mike would lie.

and tbh I don't really pay attention to who they all hang out with?? like i can name the places in sydney luke posted in his most recent photo dump but that's because it's like my turf yknow?? other than that, what they get up to is up to them and if I see something funny or relatable I will talk about it, if not, monkey brain does not engage at all. so honestly i have no idea how close they all are. from what I see ash isn't super close with 1d but that makes sense, whereas from what I've seen when they used to tour together and stuff it seems that michael was the closest to all of them (I could be wrong) and so it'd kinda make sense for them to come to his wedding? that's all I've got. could try to find the clip but honestly I haven't seen it since

I’ve been binging taopib and I wanted to talk more abt my au where team friendship ends up in San lorenzo

So here’s some bullet points!

So I think the timeline between taopib and pibtlw is like around 10ish years? Idk the shrek timeline that great so I think a decade makes sense. So the orphans are older! Vina, Toby and Kid pickles are late teens/early 20s and Esme is in her early teens. Idk abt the other orphans who show up and idk if Cleevil is still like around bc tulpa but if she’s still around she’d be in her early-mid 20s

Oh and the citizens of San Lorenzo still retain their memories of Puss. He’s basically like this hero/legend and Dulcinea and the people who were around during the adventures of puss in boots tell stories about him to the younger orphans

The reason Dulcinea wasn’t around in the puss in boots movies despite her leaving at the end with puss is bc due to her being a Tulpa she’s basically tethered to San Lorenzo so she had to go back or she’d basically disappear. She’s currently running the orphanage ( Señora Zapata is still alive btw she just decided to pass down the role of head of the orphanage to Dulcinea ) she misses Puss but has mostly moved on and is doing well for herself.

How the whole au starts is that team friendship end up in the thieves market by chance ( also Puss was feeling nostalgic ). Perrito accidentally gets separated from puss and kitty and stumble upon the orphans, who are doing some shopping for Dulcinea ( Dulcinea sent Vina, Toby and Kid Pickles and Esme tagged along ) they end up bringing Perrito back to San Lorenzo bc they’re like “ well we can’t leave this dog in the thieves market to possibly get killed or something

So they Bring Perrito back to Dulcinea and is like “ can we keep him please?? “ ( note: Perrito is very confused on what is going on but is going along with it ) Dulcinea is unsure bc yknow this dog is an outsider from San Lorenzo.

She and Perrito have a conversation and she asks if he has any family or friends and he inadvertently brings up Puss in the his reply and Dulcinea is like “ wait Puss as in Puss in boots? “ and Perrito is like “ Yep I’m his best friend and therapy dog “ ( cue Zapata butting in being like “ good he needed therapy “ )

Meanwhile Puss and Kitty are trying to find Perrito and Puss gets hit with an oh fuck moment and realizes that Perrito might be in San Lorenzo. Kitty is like “ wtf are u talking abt? “ and Puss has to explain all the shit that went down in San Lorenzo and is like “ we have to go to San Lorenzo but it’s a huge risk since I’m not allowed there bc if I go back then all the things that happened will end up happening again “

1. Do they get together before the mindflayer possessed Billy or after shit goes down (or maybe during😲)? Hhhhmmm. I want to say after. Steve takes Max to the hospital and often ends up going in with her. That’s how they get to know each other :)

2. Who kisses who first? Billy. Definitely. Bc lil stevie doesn’t quite have his sexuality figured out until the kiss and then when it happens it all clicks. 

3. Where do they have their first sex? (Location) (HJs and BJs count) I want to say in the hospital lol. Because billys in long term care and he gets antsy and a few months after they get together Steve ends up riding him on the hospital bed. The nurses end up catching them because they heard the heart monitor going crazy. 

4. Who says 💖 I love you 💖 first? I think steve does, I like to think Billy has some issues saying it but he tries very hard to show it.

5. Bottom!Steve or bottom!Billy? Bottom steve, sorry y'all. Although I do think billy sometimes wants to get fucked and steve happily obliges 

6. Do they give gifts to each other? Yes. Steve is a gift giver. He makes billy bracelets and earrings, and billy likes to pay for things when he can :)

7. Where do they end up living? California, Chicago, Hawkins… idk. Alaska?? Any other location? I enjoy the fics where they end up in cali just because I feel like that’s where they’d be the happiest

8. What are their future jobs? I see mechanic billy definitely, but I can also see social worker billy. I can really see teacher steve, maybe art or english? I can see him really understanding the kids who have trouble in school, like he did.

9. Who’s a better cook? I want to say steve because I love the idea of lonely steve learning how to cook because he needs to feed himself. So because of that he gets really good. I dont think billy would be bad at cooking though. He just wouldn’t have the variety that steve does

10. Steve Hargrove or Billy Harrington? Oh god. I dont know. I think they mash them up Billy and Steve Harringrove. Mr. and Mr.

11. What’s Max’s reaction when she hears they’re together? She already knew. She knows all. I think she’d be fine with it, but in the annoying little sister way. Teasing both of them when they make the other blush, and gagging when they’re cutesy.

12. Describe in one sentence Hopper’s reaction when he hears the names Hargrove and Harrington mentioned together? He’d grimace, but only because he’s heard the noises Steve makes sometimes and can only imagine the cacophony they create.

13. Does Robin like Billy or does Robin hate Billy? Mmm. She definitely does NOT like him at first. Buuuttt once she finds out he’s gay and they’re being gay together she’s all for it.  

14. What about Dustin? Dustin would feel betrayed at first. He definitely wouldn’t trust billy for a while. But once he saw them together he’d roll his eyes and say an exasperated “okay.”

15. Fave harringrove AU? Oof. I have no idea. I can’t pick just one 16. Billy + Camaro =…? His soulmate (Yknow, besides steve)

anyways. hob having sex w dream in the dreaming while lying in bed with his current girlfriend in the waking. shes hearin him moanin abt dream, which is weird but whatever wet dreams be wet dreams. shell wake him up for another round or just let it be cos shes wiped out this isnt about that tho

hob maybe still doesnt know/understand that dream Dream is real Dream while Dream thinks theyre in a fully understood relationship (theyve been doing this for awhile now, after meeting back up in the waking after his imprisonment)(hes still Very Bad at openly explaining things to his mortal lovers), hob just also has relationships in waking since theyre Casual TM (dreams a little afraid of commitment rn) (and Dream can’t physically fuck Be With a mortal in the waking)

Edit: no actually this is a bout weird somno and hob being just totally wrecked by the dueling sensations of his girlfriend in the waking trying to wake him up by feeling him up to go for another round, and Dream using all hos might actually a considerably small amount of his might (but yknow, emotionally all of his might) to keep hob fucking him in the dreaming. the weird relationship status is a secondary concern
