Friends in the MHA RPC/anyone interested in MHA RP, I have created a server. (Again. Yes. Stop booing me.) Its a multi-universe set up, so its a rp server that contains more than one verse to write in which are all pretty detailed because I am insane. A quick summary of universes contained in the server under the cut !! You should def like this post / DM me if you want an invite and I'll invite you if your muse is open. 🩵
Aside from the obvious canon universe, the AUs in the server currently are : Zombie Apocalypse ! Set before the Paranormal Liberation War, this verse explores an AU where the power struggle between heroes and villains is obliterated by a new and far more terrifying threat to society and human civilization as we know it. Inspired by horror survival series such as Resident Evil, Sweet Home, and Left4dead, this is My Hero Academia meets the Zombie Apocalypse in full form.
Future / Rehab verse ! This is a heavily canon based but AU verse set three years into the future of the current manga. AFO has been defeated, Tomura Shigaraki, Himiko Toga, Dabi and Spinner have all been apprehended, along with a majority of the other villains who participated in the war. They are now participating in a specialized rehabilitation program at the Tamashiro Psychiatric Facility.
Ouroboros / Ultra Rumble ! This verse takes heavy inspiration from sources such as Squid Game, Battle Royale, and MHA's own Ultra Rumble game as the name suggests. Much like the inspo sources, all of our favorite MHA characters have been ported into a strange pocket dimension to interact and sometimes battle for the entertainment of unknown overseers.
Other AUs I might also add include my Hero AU, Fantasy AU and the Furry ass Mafia AU but yeah, SO FAR, beside canon verse, those are the three in the server ATM. >:3

YES PLEASE INFODUMP ON THE PISS SMP, I SAW AN INSTA POST YOU MADE IF IT AND I WANNA KNOW MORE/pos
OH MY GODDD AHAHAH LETS GOOO !!! MY EVIL PLAN TO SPREAD THE PISS SMP PROPAGANDA!!!!!!!!!! Okay so
In the beginning, we werent going to do lore, it was just meant to be a server for fun! Me and my brother explored and gathered materials for a while and he ended up taming a dog! Thats where the lore starts. It all started when that damn dog died.
So, he ended up naming the dog Piss, cuz it was funny, and we were exploring more at night. Piss ended up chasing after a spider and fell into a ravine and sadly passed away. (Now in character) Cyrus laughed his ass off, Ezra (he shares a name with my brother just bc he goes by Father Piss for the rest of the series) shouted "PISS YOU FUCKING DUMBASS" and it fucked him up pretty badly even if they both played it off like joke at first.
Cyrus and Ezra settled and started building their bases, however, Ezra was actually making a church. For a while he kept cryptically laughing and saying "oh my beautiful creation" and everyone was pretty worried, of course, but no one thought anything of it. Doc went off to build their base elsewhere (across the lake from the mainland since it was a small island only disconnected by a few blocks) and Cyrus went mining.
While everyone was doing their own thing, Cyrus kept dying in The Pit. It was just a small cave entrance that was really steep and there was lava and a ton of mobs in it, he died a lot from skeletons and burning. He's had a vendetta against skeletons since then and tends to avoid the nether as much as he can. Thats how he got his burn scars.
After that, Ezra finally finished the church. Everyone was invited to the grand opening! (Although in canon only doc and cy made it, ive rewritten it to where everyone else actually came) Ezra declared himself Father Piss, bringing peace and harmony to all the lands in the name of his dog, Piss.
The only problem was.. Father Piss slipped up, it was actually a cult. Cyrus was outspoken about not wanting to be apart of the cult, Father Piss declared him a traitor and killed him. Which is the first time anyone had really lost a life. (Death by mobs/environment arent permanent but DO cause permanent damage to the body over time. Death by players are limited to three before they stay dead. AND lives are counted by red hearts on the napes of their necks, they become black when a life is lost)
When Cyrus respawned they got into another fight, also ending in death. Out of fear, Doc impulsively joined Father Piss' cul- church.
Cyrus was exiled from the Pisslands (names by Father Piss of course) and wandered around the woods for a while. He began construction on a small house in the spruce forest but overnight Father Piss and his goons found it and vandalized it. Out of fear Cyrus ran to Doc, hiding out in their home for the next night.
Thats when he got a great idea! He created the entrance to his bunker on the hill next to Doc's house, Father Piss would've never guessed he stayed so close and he was right! He spent days making that bunker and over the following weeks he just grew more paranoid and afraid of Father Piss.
Eventually, Father Piss requested to meet with Cyrus, at Piss' grave by the ravine. They met up and Cyrus was led back to the church, skeptical but too afraid of angering him to protest. He ended up being imprisoned behind the church. He spent hours talking to himself and playing with sand as it was the only thing left in his inventory. He was scheduled to be executed the next day, however Cosmic busted him out! Laying down her first life for him to be able to get away.
Cyrus then decided to make a second bunker, connected by a LONG tunnel for him to escape through if needed. He spent months making it, he kept a nether portal in the second bunker and tamed a dog that Argent named Swaginator. His friends didnt visit him often, apart from Doc or Argent. He rarely left but when he did it was ALWAYS to see Doc, the love of his life. He was so clouded by anxiety that he wasn't able to be there for Doc. Doc was dealing with their own problems from within the church, not wanting to do Father Piss' bidding and unable to leave.
This put a strain on their relationship, but Cyrus really did try to make an effort. He began experiencing auditory hallucinations which only made his paranoia regarding Father Piss worse, which quickly deteriorated his mental health.
One day, he decided to go into the nether for some supplies to make his bunker look nice. He ended up running into Homeslice, one of Father Piss' goons, and he panicked. Not realizing that he hadn't been noticed he started swinging, he knew it was over as soon as the fight started. Father Piss had been alerted and the two of them cornered him to the ledge, before Father Piss swung his axe and took Cyrus' final life. His body fell into the lava pool below.
After a few days, he came back! As a ghost, he lost all his memories and the first person to see him was....Father Piss. It wasnt hard to trick him into finding his old bunker before raiding it. Ghostrus was completely unaware and blissfully complied with whatever Father Piss wanted for a while. Although he grew weary of Father Piss' instability.
Ghostrus built a house on a mountain near Doc's house and kept a close eye on them. He felt incredibly drawn to them but didnt know why, as he didnt entirely believe that they were married when he was alive.
Axel then joined, making a house on stilts in the sea, he became very close to Doc. Argent also became close to Doc, as they visited his restaurant often! Then again, it was the only restaurant and it was right next to her house. Slowly the three of them became friends and eventually partners.
Ghostrus on the other hand decided to start a taco truck, which was just a front for his drug business. He laced his tacos with coke to keep customers always coming back for more! Father Piss became hooked on his food.
More people moved into the Pisslands, the community grew and so did Argent and Ghostrus' respective businesses. He created a drug empire for himself, which gave him a lot of power. With the lack of memories and moral compass, Ghostrus created an image of himself to be the sweet and friendly taco truck owner. While behind the scenes he was a cynical and uncaring asshole.
He enjoyed the chaos that Father Piss created and became the worst version of himself for it.
AAAAAND THATS ALL WE HAVE SO FAR !!!!!! the rest is much blurrier and not concise so ill stop there, but thats the lore thats absolutely canon as of now ! Ty if you read this far :33

my 2023.
yearly retrospective time LETZ GO!!!
last year i said 2022 sucked but uh,, 2023 was definitely worse :'o)
with the rise in queerphobic legistlation, school getting progressively harder to stay on track with, my dad dying, and just everything else that ive had to endure this year, its been difficult. but.. i somehow made it.
and you might be wondering how i got through everything. did i touch grass and magically everything was sunshine and rainbows? buy some overpriced self help book or online course that changed my life? No <3
i just,, did what i normally do. i played video games, talked with my friends, watched youtube, brainrotted over fandoms, listened to music, came up with cool outfits, somehow made it through skool, drew, wrote, cosplayed, roleplayed, made kandi and crafts, and just overall found ways to find joy in the small things, which goes a long way when youre trans in a world where your joy is an act of rebellion.
i also had some cool fandom moments this year! season 7 of siivagunner has been AWESOME, return to dream land deluxe was great even if it fricked with the lore a little, THE TOH FINALE WAS SO FRICKIN GOOD, marios madness may be my new fave fnf mod, NPMD THREW ME BACK INTO MY HATCHETFIELD FIXATION, i FINALLY got the kirby planet robobot soundtrack cd and the limited edition quiznos training game physical edition, i found ways to actually enjoy WDY again and leave behind itz toxic fandom, i got into pokepasta, tintn, gogos crazy bones, playtime with percy, inside job, tadc, i started listening to mal blum and against me and chonny jash, im currently being dragged into eggotama as we speak and im getting back into mpdsap,,
but the fandom that had the most impact for me this year was the june archive and restoration project. getting into TJA led me to discover bowlbys other works and get into one of the best fandoms ive ever been in, thanks in part to the june archive and restoration project fanserver. ive met so many cool people through that server, and getting to chat and VC with them has always been a blast. [yknow what? shoutout to all my friends that ive loved talking with all throughout 2023 yall are awesome]
back to life stuff for a moment here, i got to do a lotta cool stuff this year! i FINALLY homebrewed my 3ds [with a bit of help from jaco xd], GOT TO SEE THE HAUNTING OF NIGHT VALE LIVE, put together some awesome cosplays for gencon and halloween, im getting better at rhythm games, i got SECOND PLACE in my skoolz national cybersecurity codebreakers competition, i had an awesome bday, i went to go see barbie [my first movie in theaters since lockdown] and fnaf and both were AWESOME!! all of this despite everything thats happened in 2023!
and as for my creative projectz,, DIGIVERSE REBOOT EPISODE 3 FINALLY RELEASED BACK IN MAY!!!!!! holy frick i was SO PROUD of that,, in addition, ive been doing character reveals for gamerz epic megamix take, i created the doomed timelines awoken au, and ive strengthened my artstyle into what it is today while learning how to use my drawing tablet :3
in addition, getting into TJA and watching bowlbys animation legacy made me think about my past as a creator, and i started work on giving my old book ocs from my days in the TWOW fandom the care and attention they deserve, even if it means some slight redesigns or rewrites. speaking of TWOW, EWOW IS OUT AND IM GETTING BACK INTO TWOW AFTER YEARS!! feelz good to be back, and im hoping i can maybe properly host a minitwow at some point in 2024!
overall 2023 wasnt great, but i stayed silly and had fun despite it and i think thatz very swag of me!
now, every time i do one of these things, if i do an overconfident "bring it on" type message at the end i almost always end up regretting it, AND i am absolutely terrified about 2024 so i am not taking my chances!
so i leave u with this sentiment towards 2024 instead:
i gotta survive The Horrors anyway, might as well stay silly and do what i like while im doing it :3

okay so, ive been reblogging a lot of stuff from @fujowebdev this past month. in case i havent mentioned yet, yes, its because i am working on this project! (ive done some character design stuff for a few characters that havent been released yet, as well as some little illustrations for the kickstarter campaign, which you should check out here if you havent yet!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(here's some of the art i did for the kickstarter, as seen here, and you can find a little more about what ive been doing for the project in this post.)
but you may be wondering why i am working on this project in the first place. well, good question! its basically a long series of random events that starts several years ago, so i wont bore you with that much detail, but the long and short of it is that i ended up joining a discord server called fandom coders for fandom folks who like coding and/or want to learn coding. (you can find them here, at their website, which i have also made some small contributions to!)
the fancoders are basically the coolest group of people ever; they've all been super nice, encouraging, and helpful! tbh, ive been feeling disillusioned by social media as a way of sharing my art for some time now, especially with the increase in sites that disallow/ban nsfw art in recent years, and the fandom coders discord (and especially ms boba, head of the kickstarter project and bobaboard) was more than happy to help me expand my skills so i could work on improving my own website. and the skill they helped me with that has been most vital... turned out to be learning how to use git and github!
so that brings us to the kickstarter. the main reason i've put off learning more about web development for many years was honestly just intimidation. i find a lot of resources that are supposedly aimed at people wanting to create websites are... really not all that friendly to amateurs or newbies! and for a long time, i had no one (and nowhere) to ask for help about this without being shamed for my lack of skill.
this is why i think a resource like the guide we are kickstarting is such a big deal, and why i was pretty much instantly down to volunteer my time towards making it a reality. i know there are TONS of other fandom folks out there who would love to make their own websites to showcase their love for their fandom, but not nearly enough resources that teach website-making skills in a way that is approachable and FUN.
Tumblr media
(and fun is exactly what we are trying to make this! hence the hot anime boys.)
anyway, that's my pitch! if you haven't already, go check out our kickstarter! we're already fully funded, but we have a couple of stretch goals that i think are really cool, so any extra funding helps us get to those! the first volume of the book/zine we're making covers git and github, so that you can learn version control and make your websites without the fear of breaking your site while editing and not having any way to recover the old unbroken version (TTwTT)b we've all been there...

hello Alexander i hope this message reaches you in good health. in the tags of a recent post you described being able to find roleplay partners when you wanted to even with social anxiety. pray tell how did you do this. thank you for your assistance. warmly, anon y mouse
Hi!!!! first off disclaimer- i haven’t done any roleplay in agessss so hopefully all of this still applies in this age of the internet!
but when i was a lot younger i first started out by roleplaying a ton on my own minecraft server (my dad works with computers so he set one up for me and my sister in like 2011/2012) and i played with a lot of people from school from me or my sisters classes which was nice because we both had a degree of control over it since it was Our server and it was a small group of people. to be fair i was also a child so even though i wasn’t medicated yet i probably had a lot less learned anxiety at the time even if i still had the shit i was born with lmao cause there’s definitely some things i struggle with now that i didn’t as a young kid since i just didn’t think about them as much then.
after that a ton of people moved to skype and we roleplayed a TON there and that was when i was a bit older so it was fandoms and things i was actually interested in whereas in minecraft it was random stuff or our own storylines or someone’s cousin was really into assassins creed and i didn’t (and still don’t) know a single thing about the game but really wanted to roleplay anyway lmao.
honestly after skype i didn’t really roleplay very much after that even though i did it daily as a kid/early teen BUT i was still finding some ways to make friends which can be transferable to this if they also like roleplay :)!! i don’t have many friends currently idk if covid fucked me up that bad or if i’ve just gotten worse at it over time so this feels a slight bit hypocritical since i’m not following my own advice super well at the moment lol but discord is HUGE. obviously you have to be super careful but ive made a lot of online friends by joining discords servers. even when i had to lurk for a day or two before i got comfortable (and i had people encouraging me when i admitted to that) even though i would still be an anxious wreck for a while if i met online folks irl they are still so so important to me and helped me so much, especially since i have an easier time talking online. smaller discords can be good if large groups of people are intimidating but bigger ones are good if you’re worried about being singled out and want to hide in the crowd. irl i feel like the ideal group of people is three cause if i stop talking it’s not awkward since there’s still two other people, but online i don’t really mind how many people there are since it’s a lot easier of a disconnect since im just looking at words on a screen. discord is also where i played dnd for the first time! i was 15 and i barely knew anyone there but i was obsessed w the adventure zone in early high school and really wanted to try it so i pushed through that anxiety. tbh now i think i might prefer just watching (definitely cause of the social anxiety but oh well i think that’s still a valid as hell way to enjoy the game) but im so glad i found an environment where i felt safe enough to try it even though tbh i barely remember the experience so i must have been so nervous holy shit.
i’ve never used them so i can’t attest to how great they are but tons of people roleplay on online forums! i used to use a website called chicken smoothie where you collect pets and trade and shit but they had a HUUUUGGGEEE forum where tons of people were roleplaying there, and since it’s a forum it feels like it would be slower paced even though i was personally a bit nervous about the formality of the ones i saw.
honestly just tl;dr it’s still so scary but i promise you there’s people out there who are also nervous and i think creating a story with real people is just so much rewarding then anything character ai sites can do. and i think making online friends is an invaluable resource for stuff like that, especially since it’s a lot easier to hit the bricks if you get scared, especially since for me personally im selectively mute and that’s not really an issue over text so that’s one less worry i have to deal with. but i really hope you can find those people because i have so many find memories of roleplaying with my friends growing up since that was most of my social experiences (not sure how to phrase that) came from since i was so anxious at school and literally didn’t talk to barely anyone like kids in my class straight up learned to talk to teachers for me cause they knew i wasn’t going to do it so hanging out with people online was so important.
hopefully at least some of this is helpful- i don’t have a ton of experience since im still only 21 and i also spent all the covid years being stagnant so honestly i don’t even feel 21 so i definitely don’t have all the answers but that’s what i found worked for me growing up. a lot of it is just pretending you aren’t as scared as you are and just being honest with people because in my experience they’re usually really understanding about you being nervous cause everyone has been there even if it’s not to the same degree. ALSO second disclaimer- im not in therapy (tried several times but i’ve never been able to talk to the therapist which is kind of an important part of therapy) so take all of this with a grain of salt because i have no clue if any of my coping mechanisms are healthy but i haven’t died yet so i guess im doing something right?
sorry this is so long lmao and i have no clue how helpful it is

OKAY SO UH
I've been rewatching Exile with a group of people from the Flypaw Discord and uhh I think we've figured out the answer to a question that has been plaguing people for a WHILE now... Which is, why does Tommy claim to be alone all the time despite having visitors every day?
Well... his visitors are really fucking mean, whether on accident or on purpose.
On day 1, his only visitor aside from Dream was Techno, who openly mocked him for getting thrown out of his home and watched him and Ghostbur struggle for materials because it amused him.
On day 2, his visitors were Bad, Dream and Sapnap. Bad was kinda nice, but mostly kept his distance cause everyone kept saying fuck words. However, Dream and Sapnap relentlessly mocked Tommy, laughed at him struggling for materials, and the two followed him around the entire time, protecting him from mobs (meaning Tommy couldn't just tell them to fuck off), bullying him, and constantly reminding him that he can never go back home again.
On day 3, his visitors were Fundy and Ranboo. While they were not actively malicious, they did say some stuff that was... unintentionally hurtful. They tell Tommy that the walls are gone, that L'Manburg looks much nicer now, and that Tubbo is doing alright. Innocuous statements on the surface, but Tommy, in his depressed state, took them to mean that Tubbo didn't miss him or care about him, and that L'Manburg was better off without him.
On day 4, his visitors were Dream, Lazar, and Connor (briefly). When Lazar came over, he and Tommy had a sweet moment where Lazar gave Tommy a disc and a fire resistance potion for trying to help him out of the lava. Tommy and Lazar listened to the disc together and put their differences aside... And then Dream came in and made Lazar participate in destroying Tommy's armor. Tommy killed Lazar, pissing Lazar off, and once again creating a rift. Connor joined later on, declaring that he was living in Tommy's house back in the SMP, and when Tommy tried to get him to move out because he wanted to move back after exile, Dream continuously told him that he'd never be going back. Lazar and Connor also both claimed that the server looked much better since Tommy got exiled, and Dream adds that it's because he's not blowing stuff up all the time (which is the most hypocritical thing ive ever heard ghfgds). Dream also shoved him into lava to do a "Tommy rescue", mimicking when Lazar had fallen into lava, forcing Tommy to drink the fire res potion he got from Lazar.
We haven't watched past day 4 of exile yet, but after this comes the beach party, and after that, visits become fewer and further between.
That's not to say that Tommy never had any positive interactions with his visitors, because he did! Bad and Lazar both gave him gifts, and there was quite a bit of banter going on. However, when you've got the kinds of mental health issues Tommy had (depression, PTSD, low self esteem), you tend to become VERY cynical, and only focus on the bad. The good times slip from your memories before the bad ones do, leaving only a horrible impression of the visit behind, and there were plenty of bad times.
Is it any wonder Tommy felt lonely then? Is it a surprise that he believed his visitors were only there for pity or clout? If every time someone visits you they make you feel horrible, why WOULDN'T you feel like nobody cared about you?

character analysis: nxx investigation team, biological family, found family
wc: 1.1k
disclaimer: spoilers for character backstories within and i can no longer remember if it's in future cn server or global server, also these are all just my OWN interpretations and opinions, also it's 7:30AM here and i wrote this very quickly
so the biogical families (aka families related by blood) of everybody in the nxx investigation team are hugely fascinating to me. this is because each of their biological families creates a character that would LOVE to have the found family (aka people who are not biologically related coming to form very close bonds with each other) trope
lemme go thru everybody one by one
marius is the most obvious. the von hagen family isnt just a huge presence in society but a huge presence in his life. hes never just been marius hes always been marius von hagen. his family has a history and thanks to circumstances (cough, giann just blooping off of the face of the earth, cant wait to see u, giann!!!) a huge responsibility has been put on marius' shoulders to continue what the family does whether he likes it or not. in some card stories, it is implied that marius is seen by others as the weakest link in the von hagen family. hes a brat hes a kid he doesnt know what hes doing. marius is bombarded with responsibility and people doubting if he can follow through.
artem is a bit more lowkey than marius but his biological family also has a history. both his parents are also renowned lawyers and if im not mistaken, it was mentioned somewhere that those parents had Huge Expectations for him in terms of success and shit. his responsibility to carry on the family history is more muted than marius' but also more consistent, if that makes sense? marius had to be a von hagen only after giann disappeared while artem had to be a wing since he was a kid. the responsibility on artem's shoulders is both something that was placed onto him and something he perpetuates himself.
the above two are examples of biological families with a legacy, so to speak. it's clear that marius and artem, despite their family, worked hard independently to be the competent people they are today. their success is because of them. but one of the reasons why they had to go to do that is partly because they know that they dont exist in a vaccuum. they arent just their own person. they are a member of their last name's legacy.
(which, sidenote: marius and artem's family shit is, among the boys, the most glaringly culturally asian to me, HAHA. ofc i cant speak for all asians, but personally as a south east asian, the attitude of "carrying on the family legacy" and "you are not just you, you are your biological family" is just. ive seen those types of families, ive met them. hell, im IN ONE. moving on.)
vyn is a bit trickier. SPOILERS AHEAD, but vyn is the son of a duke, lol. hes a fuckin royal blood. absolute hilarity to me but he obviously hated it and made a choice to actively leave it. he did not erase his biological family history, he just skedaddled from it. noped himself out of there and then established himself as an individual independent from his royal bloodline. the background of his family is hugely still apparent in him but he doesnt rely on them and doesnt do anything for them as well. this is his life now, he seems to be saying. fuck off, he says as well, elegantly.
luke is depressing, but whats new. his biological family was ripped away from him the moment his parents died and he became an orphan. in a literal sense, he has no more blood history. theres no legacy, theres no responsibility, theres no past Pearce to call on. of course, he did get taken in by mc's family and that did come with its own set of history and legacy, but it's a bit different because he was adopted (and bc mc's fam history is...well, thats in the next paragraph). but yeah, luke doesnt have a biological history.
and lastly, mc. mc's family (aside from growing up with luke) is largely left up to interpretation. her parents were there during childhood and at some point disappeared for a "secret government research" which lord, i hope that gets addressed at some point jKBJSKF. but mc has some kind of biological history. we just dont get to see it.
vyn, luke, and mc have biological family situations that are more focused on the Lack Of It. vyn left, luke lost, and mc just has [REDACTED] over hers. they all, like marius and artem, establish themselves independently and work hard to be who they are now but theres less of a looming shadow of family legacy over them.
so whats this about found family?
i love nxx investigation team found family. ever since i started playing this game, i wanted all five of these idiots to come and love each other one way or another. but looking at all of their biological families, it makes me even happier because now i realize that these five idiots would very much enjoy a found family.
heres the thing (among many things) about found family that sets itself out from biological family: it's a blank slate that can only be written on by the members of the unit.
biological family, well, thats been there before you were even born. you can write the future, but the past is set in stone. you can make choices on how to deal with it but you cant change what has already happened. found family is a collaborative effort of a new history. a new chapter. one where everybody present has not only the choice but the power to make whatever this is mean whatever they want it to mean.
to metaphorize: biological family does not dictate who you are but their fingerprints, so to speak, will always be on you. found family also does not dictate who you are, but for once, theres no fingerprints of the past. it's new and youve got a say somehow in how the love of it can play out.
i feel like all of them need this. a blank page that can be built from the bottom up. no legacies or histories or lacks or whatever. just like
a bunch of people stumbling into the nxx hq and eventually, one by one, saying to themselves "yeah, im gonna ride or die for these idiots."
and then setting forth to write their story together.

5 Companies That Have Too Much Hype Around Them
Look, we all love our favorite games with a passion, and to an extent that’s fine, but when that passion becomes obsession and that obsession becomes forgetting our own moral compass for the sake of entertainment, it does feel like it’s gone too far. It’s one thing to love what a company releases, it’s completely another to ignore every problem they’ve ever had. Not all of the companies on this list have done horribly un-ethical things, but they’ve at least been anti-consumer, and the fact that people don’t question that enough has led to them sometimes, making horrible mistakes. I am RepentantSky, I love making lists that trash on things that are popular, and these are 5 companies, that have too much hype around them.
5. Nintendo
Already I can hear people getting angry, and in a way I get it. Nintendo is for many people the place where they either begin to play games, or the place they go to keep on playing them when everything else let’s them down, and of course, they put an end to the flipping video game crash of 1983, and no one else will ever be able to claim that from them. That’s all wonderful, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be critical of them. I’ve talked about a number of things they’ve done wrong before, so let me quickly run down the list of some of their anti-consumer practices. They, charge too much for remasters and ports, they don’t drop prices in games, they used to charge for fixing Joy-Cons and now completely deny it’s a problem for legal reasons, despite everyone pretty much having experienced drift, they haven’t been good at getting stock for their items in at least 20 years, and oh yeah, they sell all the content for a remake for $115 on the 3DS, the system and the fans that helped them get by while the Wii U was massively underperforming, all while handing owners of the, at the time, unproven Switch, free content. Nintendo has a tendency to still think like a toy company, and they even used that idea to present the Nintendo Entertainment System as a toy instead of a console when they first game to the West with it, but they aren’t a toy company, their a gaming company that also sells toys, just like everyone else. I get they’ve done amazing things, I own over 150 physical handheld games from them, and a ton of digital games besides, but when they start charging twice what they are worth for SD cards, while releasing games that absolutely won’t fit on the limited space of the Switch, and they simply don’t care when costumers complain, it’s time to at least question their motives.
4. Bethesda
Boy I used to really rip on this company back when I posted lists on Facebook, but I haven’t done it in a while, so let’s do it again. Bethesda has absolutely spent at least the last 10 years lying to people, Todd Howard, has become famous for it, but I think I might have been the only person who wasn’t shocked when Fallout 76 was the disaster that it was. There were so many things wrong with that game, that I don’t even have time to go over every little thing, but lying, you know the thing that will get another company on this list very soon, was a big thing they did with the game. They promised at one point that they weren’t ever going to charge for items in the game that gave in-game benefits, and they did, allowing ammo and other items to be bought with real money for a time, they promised new, specialized servers if you paid for a yearly service that was way too expensive, and that wasn’t true because people found proof of things missing from what would have been a freshly made, private server, and there’s no excuse for that, games in early access do that correctly, and they aren’t, at least supposedly, even finished yet. I wish I could say that’s all they’ve done, but they also bullied an indie developer over their game Prey, a game they may have bullied the original developer for so they could get cheaper, but we’ll never know because they refused to comment on that when asked, they also refused to update their outdated game engine for years, which caused something they spent over a decade fixing, games releasing with glitches, some of them game breaking. Yet somehow, they have such a fan base that those who love their games will claim the glitches are just part of the charm. That kind of fierce loyalty led to Fallout 76, and even though we make jokes about it even now, the horse DLC from way back in the day, was an indication of everything they’ve done, including trying to charge for mods made for free, meant to be consumed for free, twice. Bethesda is a bad company and they do not care.
3. Activision/Blizzard
You know one of the worst things Nintendo does that I didn’t really mention directly in the first entry, is limit the amount of time a product is available, instead of just letting it be there for consumption as long as it’s selling (that was what the toy company reference was about if it wasn’t clear). However, Activision/Blizzard are the Kings of doing this, as they not only limited things while they were in control of Destiny 2 to the point where you pretty much had to use real money to get everything, and never mind everything else they did to it, because we’d be here all day going through it all, but they also don’t support games as a service titles long enough for dedicated fans. Crash Team Racing Nitro fueled, is a prime example of this. People weren’t done with that game, and when fans thought for even a split second that an update was going to come to fix an issue, their hype (mine to) was so explosive, it was almost like we were getting a new game, but then nothing happened, because they didn’t care. A lot of companies that do yearly release titles as a service have this problem and nothing exemplified that more for Activision, than Skylanders, a series originally made off the back of Spyro, who didn’t even wait for a year to release new games, as technically between October 21st and November 20th of the year the first game came out, they released three of them, and I’m not even kidding. Two of them, were mobile games! You might have thought I was going to go after Call of Duty, for this, but that horse has been beaten to ground, somehow, more than Skylanders was. They also, for whatever reason, released each expansion on different generations console generations, at different months throughout Fall, like somehow the season of Fall, they needed a release every month, if not two, and so off they went. I didn’t even get into Blizzard, but all I need to say is “Blitzchung” and all the memories will likely come flooding back. There’s also the fact that in two separate years, after gaining massive profits, they dropped hundreds of employees, and hired more than they’d let go, but I guess that doesn’t really matter to some of you, because when they did it this year, with so little warning, most employees found out via the news articles about it, but we all made such a little stink this time around, it didn’t create any media buzz, so I guess that doesn’t matter, you’d all rather play flipping World of Warcraft, like better MMO’s don’t exist.
2. CD Projekt Red
I know this one comes off a little more fresh in the mind, and they technically only lied about one game, but man, what a series of lies it was. Also, let’s be honest, one major game, does not a great developer always make. CDPR’s previous two Witcher games did exactly what the author of the books thought they would, and that was almost nothing in terms of making a serious impact, and the reason is, they are kind of bad. They aren’t the worst games out there, but there is a good reason why The Witcher 1 and 2 haven’t been ported and/or remastered, despite how important they are to the story of Witcher 3, and that’s because they both suck. Cyperpunk 2077, was in a lot of ways, them just going back to being the developer they were before, the BIG ONE happened. They lied about nearly everything in regards to the game, including how the main platforms where consumers were going to buy it, were actually running well. I made those references to Witcher 1 and  2 for a reason, although if I’m being honest, they actually look better than Cyberpunk did on day 0, and that’s completely unacceptable. The budget for CDPR was basically nothing for Witcher 1 and 2 combined to what Cyberpunk got, but they were so focused on the PC versions because PC ran the game better, somehow (like maybe because they didn’t try with consoles) and they missed glitches that were so bad, the game felt like it was still in beta, if not alpha upon release. The fact that they’ve only released eleven games in twenty-three years, and only two of them didn’t have The Witcher on them, should have told us all we need to know, and yet the game, even after returns, which was another massive screw-job that led to Cyberpunk being removed from the PlayStation store, still sold Sixteen million units, all because of hype, and because apparently, some people don’t care if they’re lied to. Do you want to know what the other game they released is besides a Witcher title? It was flipping Saints Row 2, a fun game, but also one that’s too goofy for it’s own good, and yet suddenly makes Cyberpunk’s release, make sense, because it was all a massive joke, and a parody of good, well running, open world games. CDPR needs to seriously do something, anything different, and never release a game in this poor of a state ever again.
1. Ubisoft
I put Ubisoft at number one for a damn good reason, and that reason is, that everyone seems to hate the company, but loves their games, and I don’t know why. They haven’t been the overall worst company on this list, although they are pretty bad, but the major problem they have, and have had for at least a decade is that none of their games have any identity, they are literally all the same game, with different coats of paint. Sure, an occasional gem sneaks through like Assassin’s Creed IV, but all of the rest of their games have the same visual style (although ACII does seem to be the base for which they create their art let’s be honest), the shooting mechanics they have in all the games that have guns, all feel exactly the same, which is something even Call of Duty manages to avoid most years (guess I took a shot at them anyways) and yet somehow, someway, I keep seeing people getting excited for their releases, and it doesn’t make any sense. Sure, they throw a celebrity actor in from time to time, and the artistic style they use does look pretty cool, but everything is always the same with them, every single time, no matter what it is, and they still keep making money. It doesn’t really make sense either, because a lot of developers do make games that are very similar feeling, see the Life is Strange team or much as well all loved them, Telltale Games, but at least those titles told extremely interesting stories, and developed their mechanics at least a little, which is something most companies do just on principal, but not Ubisoft. They throw out a few Tom Clancy games every time they talk about what their releasing, the Trials and AC games are still mostly a yearly experience, and I’ll say it again, their entire list of releases since at least 2013, the year the previous generation kicked off, have pretty much all been the same. It would be nice if they made more games like Child of Light, but despite the fact that their games will likely never be as popular as Call of Duty, they keep churning out same-y shooters hoping that one day, maybe just one day, they’ll create their own CoD, and it’s just not gonna happen. The saddest part of all is that when they announce something different, something fans have wanted for years, we get The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, which was literally delayed because fans said they wouldn’t buy it unless some actual effort was put into making it, why is this company so popular that it can keep doing this, someone please explain it to me.
And that’s my list, can you think of any other companies that are too hyped? Let me know in the notes below, hit me up with a follow if you like my content, and give me a reblog, I’d really appreciate it. Have a wonderful life!

Okay, you know how I said I wanted to watch all these german minecraft series and then watch 3rd Life SMP? Yea, I actually dont have the attention span to watch a bunch of white bread boys fuck around in minecraft with little to no story, regardless of wether theyre american or european so Im just gonna write this post and them start watching 3rd Life SMP so yeah.
First, I kinda want to discuss what Im hoping for on like, a meta-level I guess. The only other minecraft RP Ive watched that seems similar to this is Dream SMP so expect lots of comparisons.
I like to split dsmp into three major parts: no story/non-rp, story/non-rp and story/rp.
The first part was literally just a live streamed vanilla minecraft let's play and it was boring as shit. It felt exactly like watching a bunch of dudes play minecraft and unless they acknowledged the people in their donations (who could uncomfortably pushy and even shippy at times) you did not at all get the impression they were even aware of the stream. And as much as I appreciate some level of authenticity in this type of content, I also expect to be entertained by it and this did not even meet my bare minimum standard of entertainment. Admittedly, my attention span is very low so that definitely has something to do with it, but still. I personally have never felt anything but boredom and occasionally intense discomfort while watching anything from this 'era' of dsmp.
The second part was the start of the first conflict, and thus the start of some semblance of a story. They were kind of 'roleplaying' already (both in the sense that they obviously have their personas for their content and in sense that they didnt actually have grievances with one another and were just playing it up for the sake of entertainment) but it was more on the fly, even less focused and less serious. However, it was already legues more fun to watch.
And then we had the third part, where, starting with Wilbur Soot joining and deciding to larp Hamilton, they started to plan things out more and have more complex and/or dramatic conflicts. Needless to say, this was/is the best part in my opinion and what made me see the appeal of dsmp.
What Im hoping for 3rd Life SMP is, that they skip atleast the first part. From what I can tell, it was created sometime after dsmp has been in that third part for a bit and it is a minecraft rp, so Im assuming the people behind it wanted to do something similar, just with the story aspect there on purpose and from the get-go, if you know what I mean. And by the way, I dont think thats wrong or even "copying" in the slightest. Dsmp very much seems like a case of "they did it first, not best" and if anything, I think it would be a shame if people didn't want to do their own spin on this basic concept.
What Im personally hoping for in terms of the 'style' of roleplay itself, I really hope that they dont seperate it as rigidly into lore and non-lore as they did in dsmp. Ideally, they would do it like Ranboo (Wilbur when he was playing Ghostbur to an extend too, but he didnt actually stream and have his own POV back then), where he's always kinda 'In-Character' even when there isnt really anything happening in the plot at that moment. Again, I just dont have the attention span for no story in series like this anymore, so I'd appreciate it on a personal level, but I also think that it could humanize the characters more and potentially add additional depth to them. Especially since it looks like 3rd Life is made by the Hermitcraft group and if the stuff Ive read about Hermitcraft (especially in comparison to dsmp) it wont thrive off intense conflicts and wars in quite the same way, so that could also be a way of making a calmer rp interesting.
And now, some actual plot predictions!
So, the way I found 3rd Life SMP was this really neat 'Pitiful Children' animatic by ZylisticArt. I didnt actually 'watch' it because when I look up animatics I just kinda stare at the screen, not processing anything because Im too busy imagining my own OC animatic to the song, but I did read the description and was mildly intrigued, and its the main reason I wanted to watch 3rd Life so Im going to properly watch it now and post my predictions for the plot below.
***
The description mentions something about the animatic being based on some kinda theory, but I only skimmed it in order to not get spoiled so idk what thats really about. Im mostly intrigued by the fact that the description mentions it being a hardcore SMP (with a twist!), that, combined with the name and the visuals of the animatkc lead me to a couple conclusions;
I dont really know how Hardcore mode works in multiplayer, but in singleplayer you just get permanently kicked out of your world when you die, so Im assuming it works like that on a server too, except on a server, Im pretty sure you have the option of being 'reinvited' onto a server by the admin(s) so you could theoretically have three lives while keeping it a hardcore project where you cant regenerate without potions or golden apples and all that. Again, idk if thats actually how hardcore works but I sure hope it is, because thats what Im basing pretty much all of my predictions on.
In the animatic there were like green people, yellow people and a red guy who was like, the antagonist I guess. I think the green guys still have all their lives, the yellow ones are down to two and the red lads are all down to their last one. Maybe theres gonna be a thing thats like, if you lose a life you lose a part of your soul and that makes you evil or something? Yknow, like the whole "character comes back wrong" thing, except its the conflict of the entire series. Pitiful Children is very much a 'Manipulating Others Into Doing Harmful Shit' kinda song, and I feel like that would be very in-line with a plotline like that, yknow?
Im not expecting there to be wars/conflicts on the scale of dsmp (no blown up countries here bois) but I am expecting to get ridiculously attached to a place that inevitably gets blown up/set on fire by an antagonist.
Speaking of antagonists, theyre definitely also doing the whole multiple POV thing, which means everyone is an antagonist in one way or another and Im a solutely watching every POV from every characters so that I know the full context and story of everything, so I can have the most correct opinions on them, which is both normal to want and possible to achieve.
Since these are the Hermitcraft guys Im expecting some beautiful builds that make me feel insanely untalented and the same thing with redstone shit.
Ghosts. If they havent added some kind of ghost mechanic/lore at the time Im writing this, they will add one in later, mark my words 3rd Life fandom, mark my words...
Thats pretty much it. This is all going under my mcyt tag too, and I dont think I'll be live blogging it, but it really depends on how interesting it is.
Also, if youre a 3rd Life fan who already watched all of it, the only thing youre allowed to respond to this with is a meme that is horribly incomprehensible to anyone who hasnt watched it.
Have a nice day!

Markiplier manor is toxic here’s why
So Markiplier manor (Markipliers official discord server) has gotten a surplus of new people in it, this happened a few weeks ago the manor itself though has been up for awhile. originally a members only server it was eventually opened up for everyone and yes there are alot of genuinely good people and the mods are alright but unfortunately its becoming a toxic environment.
SO EDIT i have discussed with the mods that being said ... im keeping this up as a reminder of we can do better we can help people who are struggling through something instead of shutting them down we can listen to people who are being oppressed and bravely point out new media that only worsens that oppression and stigmatization and not just the mods who i was kind of harsh towards but who are human everyone as a community can do better and this is a large community think of the work we can do just doing the basics like boycotting problematic content and helping those who cry out for it who need it (and noticing and shutting down manipulative/toxic behaviors) ... i dont know if im going to go back to the manor yet tho im going to let this sit give it a week yall can agree or disagree but know that if you try to be an ass your going to get shut down and your feelings are going to get hurt
lets start with the basics “triggering topics” triggering topics can be anything in particular but it generally means a topic that relates to another persons trauma. Now while it is important to acknowledge a persons trigger words and try to keep the conversation respectable ive also noticed people use it to shut down people who come on freaking out because their dealing with a stressful situation/something traumatic just happened. This has happened to me personally and to a friend with me it was about being pro choice and having to in short make that actual choice. i was discussing this in the bathroom because i (like anyone else who comes in with baggage) did not know about any pro choice discords at that moment and was afraid of being stigmatized or going onto a discord that says its a safe space only for it to be filled with trolls. Mark manor is labeled as a safe space and many people come on there looking for support with me no one told me that the topic was triggering to them (which apparently it was because a friend of theirs had to make the choice not her herself think what you will) they just went to a mod early on when i just found the server as a member a friend (who i wont name) had gotten.... assaulted majority of her werent online and as someone who has been there and yes when she told me it did trigger my own trauma she needed moral support... the mod shut her down and deleted her comments and didnt give her a pointer to any other discord where she could discuss the topic openly and get moral support and be pointed to resources (it actually took me ten minutes to find and confirm a lgbtq therapy chat earlier this year for another individual discussing mental health) this was before i had gotten on for that day but i noticed those messages and i contacted her when she told me what was up yea it triggered my memories and its not fun but I FUCKING HELPED HER i made sure she went to the police to atleast file a statement (while the police dont always help it is good to have it on file) i even made her a plush and shipped it out to her and i would do it again and again because its not good to basically tell another person to shut up because it triggers others not without atleast trying to help them find another fucking place and making sure their actually ok and in a physical safe place  next is them claiming the manor is a “safe space” a safe space is by definition  “ a place or environment in which a person or category of people can feel confident that they will not be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment, or any other emotional or physical harm.” you would also think that the manor would be a safe space in the fact that marginalized and oppressed groups of people would be able to point out problematic content and have an open and free discussion about it and how it makes them uncomfortable. especially people of lgbtq community which alot of people in that chat are. yesterday (and this was what caused me to officially turn away from the server) in the patio (which is the members only chat) a Transgender individual pointed out the problematic content that is huniepop and how it fetishizes trans people as well as other minorities now this game i hear tries to make itself out as a “parody” .... its not its a sexual dating sim what would make it a parody is if sex noises were replaced with donkey sounds and the lewd pictures were replaced with poorly drawn doodles of tits or what have you its a game for incels marks hilarious when he plays it because he doesnt take the game seriously my issue isnt with him its with the developer. and if you did not know (which apparently people dont) the character poli is described as “a girl with a dick” the individual pointed this out because they felt like it dehumanizes them and paints them as nothing more than a fetish... and also apparently you can “choose” is poli is trans which kind of gives off the message that people can ignore trans peoples identity if it makes them uncomfortable... or if they dont sexualize them. and the muslim community is more or less in the same boat i come from the bible belt in usa im not muslim i am not trans but i do have a reason for standing with both and i will get to that in a bit so i was raised in a christian household in a christian setting like muslim women were basically told we cannot have sex and any sexual thought is sinful and we will be punished blah blah blah your even more closeted if your gay or bi because then you can face ... violence that being said to make the woman from the middle east hyper sexual like they did is kind of shitty even for a incel pleasing sex game. the individual who thought it would be ok to discuss this in the server because its labeled as a safe space and is generally “lgbtq” friendly thus believing he would have people agree and discuss ... was unceremoniously shut down by their peers and a mod was notified this person was not hostile maybe a bit frustrated because he wanted to talk about it and thought he would have this genuinely helpful conversation and people would listen and spread the word because to have problematic content be popular can isolate the oppressed group even more so WHEN NO ONE WANTS TO LISTEN TO THEM. if a group of marginalized people notice something problematic with content and you claim to be an ally of said group then you need to acknowledge and support what they say. they told him to go to twitter where he could potentially be bullied and written off ... because again its an INCEL PLEASING SEX GAME.(which means incels if you ever dealt with them will go and say anything to justify the game even using slurs and bullying) and to put the icing on the cake to change the topic they brought up robin ... i actually dont know who robin is as i dont really focus much on youtube creators personal stuff (it feels off for me to not personally know an individual but know their personal stuff without having actually talking to them its weird i know its a thing i have in my head) but apparently they recently came out as female and good for them im super proud of him and the patio members were discussing how they were proud of him as well for beginning to wear makeup and making themselves more feminine which would be great if they werent trying so hard to shut down the trans male who was trying to spread awareness on problematic stuff .... something he pointed out ... and something they gaslighted and said he was being hostile. really its almost as if they only care about trans issues when its someone famous discussing them  so what can we possibly do about huniepop being transphobic and the answer is very easy BOYCOTT IT like... yall were up in arms and boycotted jk rowling with snap and a turn do we only cancel the old and ugly? do we only cancel those who we dont think is funny? mark is not at fault he probably doesnt realize it and any comments made on the issue are talked down upon or drowned amongst other comments im not saying to cancel him im saying to cancel the game HARD. ignore the posts bitch at the dev demand refunds for your game. like consumers have infinitely more power than corps want to admit.  so you basically have a community that claims to be a safe space but only if you want to talk about sunshine and rainbows and its highly hypocritical of them to claim safety.  another thing is emotionally abusive/manipulative people hide in the server and the mods dont ever seem to acknowledge it. i cannot tell you how many times ive gotten into arguments with people who seems nice then turn into assholes then claim to be the victim when i or others go off on them. if you recognize my name you know i dont stand down when it comes to having a snarky or rude comment thrown at me if your going to be an ass were fighting i dont care how nice you seemed beforehand and you dont get to call a mod just because i actually stood up for myself or others sorry not sorry dont be a bitch nuff said.  now why would i care so much about problematic content? why would i care and stand by the transgender and muslim people (aside from being ya know... an actual ally and not someone who claims it for sympathy and brownie points?) its because i am autistic i am also able to function well on my own but there is a movie created by the famous singer sia it is called music it is a movie frowned upon by the autisitic community because infantizes and dehumanizes non verbal autistic people i am fortunate and unfortunate in not having to deal with much stigma unfortunate because i wasnt diagnosed until i was 17 alot of answers about my behavior could have been answered if i had been diagnosed earlier but considering society loves the quiet timid female and i functioned “well” for neurotypicals i was ignored. so yea you bet your ass im standing with them and raising awareness about huniepop and their was this one person when i mentioned this point i cant remember there name nor to do i give a shit about them because when i mentioned how autistic people ... how i was in the same boat with music by sia (again i advise that no one target the actress who was under contract target sia and please boycott her so she knows she cant get brownie points or money for a movie that stigmatizes who she claims she wants to “help” (*cough* profit off of *cough cough*) and only serves as a feel good movie for neurotypicals and ignorant people)  they said “i heard people who hated the movie i heard people who found it alright people are ALLOWED to like problematic content” ... and like ... does anyone else see the problem here? its not hard at all to boycott celebrities for making content  and im going to repeat this point  IF A GROUP OF MARGINALIZED, STIGMITIZED AND OPPRESSED PEOPLE CALL OUT SOMETHING FOR BEING PROBLEMATIC AND YOU CLAIM TO BE AN ALLY YOU FUCKING LISTEN TO THEM AND DONT SHUT THEM DOWN I DONT GIVE A SHIT YOU DONT HAVE A FUCKING EXCUSE. if you cant bring yourself to boycott a piece of media and replace it with the infinitely more suitable forms that supports the group you claim to be for your not an ally your a fucking hypocrite  and that is why i left markiplier manor i am still a youtube special ... thingy member and i will continue to be a member to support mark i want people to overall listen to those who speak up against a creator and a piece of media and listen to us all no matter how “good” something seems. .. also there is a video called listen it was created by nonverbal autistic people  and communicationFIRST a group that sia apparently communicated with for her movie... and then ignored  https://youtu.be/H7dca7U7GI8

Also what’s your au? -🎩
... ok I know I said "ask me about my au" but at this point I think I need you to specify ^^"
I have.. actually mostly 2 main mcyt based aus. I have sunbringer, which is the one Ive mostly been posting about, and...
... and then there's foglorn forest, which is just me accidentally breaking my own magic system and making an au out of it.
rant about both ahead ;)
so, sunbringer basically has a full magic system - the primal gods (aka the primes) have been around for as long as the world has - "the world" being like.. a hub from which you get across servers, most smps are built in its image. those primes being the gods of the classic 4 elements, then also the dragon queen, goddess of void, the goddess of death (whose name was lost to time), and the god of chaos.
some gods are unkillable, some are killable and just reincarnate, and some.. if they die, that's it.
the au was based on all the concepts of like... dream being non-human? all those ender dragon dream/god dream stuff. I made the au, originally, before tommy died in prison, and it started as a dsmp au because.. ngl I dont even know if empires was around or if I just didnt watch it yet.
basically, dream is the god of the sun. he defeated the dragon queen, and she gave him the sun and stars to give to the people in the overworld, who then went on to give him the name "sunbringer"
... that's about it for this au. I mean, there's a lot more, but that's the premise, pretty much. I have 27 pages worth of google doc about this......
now, foglorn was made due to the fact that, at some point, I added empires and hermitcraft to sunbringer, and had to give everyone roles. that was a bit after 3rd life ended, so. I was in pain and needed to make the people I like more important.
so, joel became the chaos king (like. the primal god of chaos), and half the hermits were suddenly like old as time itself.
and then my brain, one night, decided that instead of making scar a fire elemental, because Arson™️, he should be a chaos elemental. and then I went from there to make chaos hybrids like... a Thing.
and, the thing about foglorn, is that during its evolution away from sunbringer, its magic system changed, and now every magic user is also compelled to act in ways opposite to their magic - so chaos hybrids are also compelled to create, hence joels megabase on empires, scar making... literally half of boatem his base on season 8, all that. at that point I entirely forgot dsmp exists.. until like last week when everyone did their final streams for 2021 and brainrot hits hard.
so, I started logically and made niki a chaos hybrid. her baking became her output for creation.
I honestly dont know why I made quackity a chaos hybrid, but I dont think I can go back now.
... anyways, because of how magic now works in this au, the fact they like building and creating things made their need for chaos and destruction grow. and there used to be a solution for it, in the au's history. that solution is a server named Forlorn Forest. it was a chaos server in the most true sense of the words. it also got shut down by watchers once a group there finallly managed to blow up the moon.
basically, the Forest is considered a myth among younger hybrids, such as niki, while Q and scar have been there for a while before it closed.
so, after the gang gets to talking about how much they miss the place (after scar waxes poetic about how murder is super poggers), grian kinda. uses watcher magic along with his being technically an admin (he was the admin for evo, yknow), he makes them a new server that wont ever be shut down. and that server is called Foglorn Forest. its always foggy and nighttime there, and there's no safety even with your allies because they might have secret allies, and if you step on anyones toes you might have to respawn and have to grind for more gear while your head is now proudly displayed in the enemy gang's base... its true chaos.
yeah, those are the aus, basically. thanks for asking, I have exactly one fandom friend for mcyt stuff and I think I might have talked their ear off about these aus lately.... ^^""""

@mileyzangel said: Can you please make a Harley Quinn hairstyle from both Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey?
I went and watched Birds of Prey the other night and it was really good. Brandon went to sleep I think tfgvhb. But I doubt I’ll try doing her hair from either of the films. @enriques4 is working on one for her Birds of Prey look if you are interested in that <3

I honestly don’t think the new beds do anything. They’re... there. Lmao I think the CAS and buy items are very nice. If we get some cc murphy beds then that would make them a lot more usable tbh.

Anonymous said: how do you and ayoshi keep making some fantastic collabs?? y'all are literally the first people i go to when I make a fresh install and I can't wait to see what you do next
Anonymous said: AxA CC KINGS!!!
Anonymous said: you guys didnt have to snap like that on AxA
Anonymous said: I LOVE EVERY SINGLE PACK U AND AYOSHI DO PLEASE KEEP MAKING MORE
Anonymous said: another iconic ah00b x ayoshi collab YAS LESSGOOOO
We put a bunch of cc ideas (hair and clothes) in a discord server we have together and then work on the stuff together on call usually so each item is the way we both want me. Like for example i’ll be meshing the Ivy top while he works on texturing the ribbed version.  We also only do collabs when they happen, we didn’t plan AxA 2019 or this new set, mainly just made cc starting in May and wrapped it up in July to release in August. Then this time we started making stuff late December and got most of it done by the time I got done with my break. Having a planned collab/deadline makes stuff less stressful and the stuff usually turns out better imo

Anonymous said: So ive never played pokemon before until my friend gave me a copy of pokemon moon. I love cats so of course my starter was a litten, but i had no clue about evolutions or anything like that. I was heartbroken when my cute litten turned into some big man cat :(
omg noooo ;n; yeah Litten is a cutie... incineroar is... well I got used to him tbh and kind of like him now? I absolutely hate scorbunny’s evolution (and most of the SWSH starters final evolution) so I think that made incineroar slightly better in my eyes. My shiny litten will be staying a kitten however :)

@multifandom-slytherin said: Hello! I love your cc! Would it be possible for you to make the bangs from your Bree Hair a separate accessory that you can put with other hairs (for example the BG low ponytail)? Thank you so much!
Anonymous said: have u considered making or allowing someone to make an acc version of your handmade bangs?
I have thought of doing accessory bangs tbh, I just like... don’t like using accessory bangs myself. So I’m not sure if I’ll end up doing it. I might try it for myself and see how many hairs they work with, and if it is a decent amount I’ll release.

Anonymous said: First off I want to say how amazing all of your hairs and collabs are! Second I was curious if you ever thought of going back to your old hairs and updating their thumbnails / display indexes so they matched your stuff now?
I really really wanted to have all my 2019 hairs updated by 2020. It was only January 2019-April 2019 that needed updated (thumbnails and display indexes). But I just lost motivation for doing it. I will focus on it next time I have a big break from school. Also planning on updating select stuff from 2018 and 2017.

Anonymous said: Hi! After the recent patch I started having a small issue with Bree hair(without bangs), when I zoom out it looks like a completely different hair, something similar to that one basegame hair that's layered with tips pointed outward but longer. Thought I'd let you know, maybe others have had a similar issue or maybe I need to change a setting or something. Love your work so much!
Really surprised this is the first time someone told me about this lmao. The hair should be updated now on SFS/Patreon <3

Are they in game or a cc you create? Thanks so much! Love all of your work! I'm super new to cc stuff and I found yours like 2 days ago and have been going nuts with downloads lol
like presets? None of my cc models use a lip preset. I do use this slider on some of them though. For lipsticks, that is listed for each model on my resource page <3

@eclypt-0-sims said: Hi, I recently started making MM hair and I know you're probably an expert at this but; every time I go into CAS to test a hair, all of my accessories clip with the hair. Like the hair texture would cover some glasses if my sim was wearing glasses. I don't know how to fix it, someone told me to delete an eye weight in blender but I don't really understand weight painting that much, any suggestions? love your content btw
this is a late as hell reply i’m sorry. I think that you have texture where the glasses texture would be. Hair texture should only be in hair section or hat section (if you don’t want it hat compatible). Here is a UV map layout that I use for making hair textures. It shouldnt have anything to do with weights

I do use reshade when I take cc previews. It adds a bit of saturation to my sims and gives them some shadows under their chin/clothes. Nothing major. Also, myself and @imvikai came up with the tropical punch palette together.

Hey! Im super sorry if you just got a really weird ask from me i was typing, decided to erase it all but hit enter and the 'your ask has been recieved' notif popped up akjfjdjd anyway hi! How are you! Im watching a nexpo video about the 2019 tryfg arg and recognized the icon and url for one of the yt channels he talked about... Ive actually been following you for a while so i was super shocked to see that lol so i guess my question is are you a fan of the arg or did you help create the game? 💖
Finally my time has come *girnos theme plays* uh well you see I didn’t make it I am a simple person who got caught up in trying to figure out what the hell that arg is like is it real or fake? Like my boi nexpo had a good video but he got a few things wrong. But first let me lay out a timeline
Some ordinary gamers releases a video about diamond gate in 2018 https://youtu.be/l9fq3Y9X00w
I join the discord from the diamond gate subreddit
The server slowly becomes more about pelzer,Elsa Gate, and omgle gate
The pelzer arg was the main topic since it was honestly the more juicy and I couldn’t wrap my head around what the hell is going on and also there was a lot of videos and felt the need to make a playlist
One of the channels in the arg was called super tv and we got them banned but this is why the playlist is called “pelzer super tv” but later the dude made super tv 2 which is why the playlist and the channel name don’t line up
A month before nexpo made his video on the subject a person came to my comments of a video of mine and asked me about my playlist which this scared me so I deleted the playlist but when nexpo made the video I remade the playlist
Now I might reblog with images I have saved related to this that I find to be very interesting but like this arg I don’t really like to think about since it is very depressing since I don’t know if it’s a arg or what because it’s based on a cult that in the real world has done things and still do things and this isant our of character for them and the town is just creepy and in the discord the town was what drawn me in since it’s super creepy

Focus on the Fan-mily: Community Archiving and the Archive of Our Own
A five-part series on AO3 as a community archive, considering how archival theory and fandom history meet to create a ground-breaking fan archive experience like no other, and the possibilities this has for the archival profession moving forwards.

Part I   |   Part II   |   Part IV   |   Part V
Part III - Chasing the Ephemeral: An Overview of Fan Archival Activities
To understand AO3’s insistence on enabling the creator with full power over their works, it is important to understand the fan culture and context that AO3 developed out of, as well as the complex history of fan archival activities.  Since the early days of modern fan culture, with Star Trek fans in the 1960s, fan spaces have been a place of sub-culture and secrecy, with transformative works and fan fiction —the dominant form of record on AO3— being particularly revolutionary.  Fan academics such as Abigail Derecho often identify fan fiction as a form of societal criticism, predominantly created by women and people from minority groups.  Using fan fiction, fans from marginalized groups create content for themselves that reimagines the hierarchical and societal norms reflected in the original media and wrests control of storytelling and creativity away from mainstream capitalist studios and publishers.  This content often contains themes and subjects considered counterculture or radical by mainstream society — for example, until very recently (and arguably in some corners still), this included any queer interpretations, feminist discourse, or erotica.  At the same time, fans use the spaces in and around this content —the writer-reader relationship, the aggregation of stories with similar subjects, the use of particular tropes and specialized lingo— to create a community and culture that reflects their own, often marginalized, experiences.  Particularly with the connectivity of the Internet, Abigail De Kosnik observes that digital fan fiction archives become “safe spaces” where fans with similar experiences can “come together, sharing ideas and experiences without fear of silencing.”
This “fear of silencing” has long plagued fan spaces and has come both from within and without communities.  Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, fans largely shared their content through zines and amateur press associations, relying on conventions and meet ups to come together with other community members and distribute their work.  With the advent of the Internet, fan communities —known as fandoms— began to attract a new and wider scope of members.  Now younger fans, international fans, and even people who had never heard of fandom before, could connect with existing communities so long as they had access to an Internet connection.  A fan scholar by the pseudonym of Versaphile observes that early digital sites were particularly ephemeral in nature — posts and discussions on forums had a lifespan of days or weeks, and it wouldn’t be until the mid-1990s that sites began retaining user content.  Major archives dedicated to fan fiction began emerging in the mid 1990s, usually centred around stories from a single fandom.  These early archives would perhaps be more recognizable to archival professionals — users posted their content or submitted them to the web archivist, who would format, file and preserve the materials they received in order to make them available to archive users.  Creators could request that their content not be archived, or that their previously archived materials be deleted, but generally, archives retained their materials until they were dissolved or deleted.
While there were technical issues with these early archives, such as poor accessibility and search functionality, one of the greatest threats to these archives was the loss of their archivists.  Once an archivist lost interest in the fandom, or was no longer able to manage the archive, the entire site could disappear as maintenance ceased, domains expired and were not renewed, and reorganization destroyed years of existing structure and links.  This is a common concern with community archives, particularly those of the Do It Yourself variety — as Rebecka Sheffield observes, the loss of interest from archive members or the inability to maintain the existing collection has led to the disappearance of many archival projects.  With the disappearance of each archive, years of fandom discussion, content, and community were lost forever, unless individual members made a special effort to preserve certain elements on their own ends.  Fans began to learn an important lesson that would continue to shape fandom for years to come — their communities, the stories they created and shared, the unique fandom cultures and relationships that they had developed, even the shared memory of their own history, was only as stable and permanent as the whim and will of the site administrators.
As fans explored different methods of communication and content sharing into the early 2000s, the role of the administrator remained a question.  Mailing lists centred around a particular theme, genre, or relationship provided a decentralized and highly tailored fandom experience at the cost of accessibility.  Links to content were closed to non-members, who had to apply for membership with the list’s moderators just to access a single story, and moderators had the power to delete entire lists whenever they pleased, thereby deleting all the works preserved within.  The popular journaling website LiveJournal dominated fandom communities through the early 2000s, granting creators seemingly exclusive control over their own content.  Creators could make their journals public or private, and rename, hide or delete them altogether.  Accessibility remained an issue: content was poorly and inconsistently tagged, the search function was nigh non-existent, and users had to develop through experience a knowledge of which journals might contain content they were interested in and what terms a creator might use to describe their work.  Although some users began developing general guides for creators to describe and tag their work, compliance with these guides depended on the individual creator.  With the rise of the creator’s autonomy over their own work came issues of organization and management, and the ever-present question about the preservation of content.
While fans wrestled with the question of intracommunity preservation, outside forces began emerging as threats to fandom communities and creators, as litigation, censorship, and commercialization began targeting fan spaces.  In the late 2000s, LiveJournal saw several waves of migration to other sites as website staff began banning users en masse and taking down content which they judged to be immoral or illegal.  These takedowns, supposedly aimed at sexual crimes, could affect any content that involved sex — from age-restricted adult fan fiction journals, to sexual assault survivors’ spaces, to queer fan fiction, which was seen as inherently sexual regardless of content.  Similar censorship restrictions affected other popular fan hosting sites, such as Fanfiction.net, which was in many ways a precursor to AO3.  As a centralized, multi-fandom site with a relatively organized structure, Fanfiction.net provided fan creators with the ability to format and post their own stories in one place, and enabled users to find and access those stories with comparative ease using a controlled vocabulary with its descriptive elements.  However, throughout the mid-2000s to the early 2010s, the website began imposing restrictions on the kind of content that fans could publish.  Adult fan fiction was banned, as was any content which could potentially result in litigation from a studio, publishing company, or author.  Creators issued lengthy disclaimers with each post, making it clear that they did not own the original media or characters on which their fan work was based.  It was vital that no one could argue in court that they had given any impression of owning the intellectual material, as there had been high profile cases of authors suing and harassing fan writers.  Works containing quotations of more than a few lines, such as a stanza of a song or a paragraph from a book, ran the constant risk of sudden deletion by administrators.  Users became increasingly disgruntled with the censorship and the constant fear of deletion by site staff.
The intrusion of mainstream capitalism also began to challenge the sub-culture of secret community that many fans had become used to.  As “fandom” became increasingly prominent, corporations saw fan communities as a potential resource.  For media companies, fan content produced through free fan labour increases the presence and reach of the original media.  Popular fan sites were also profitable places for ads, and web servers and companies benefitted from the increased traffic.  In the eyes of many fans, this was nothing short of exploitation.  Coming from a strongly decentralized period in fan history, fan spaces were seen as personal and counterculture — fans made the content they wanted to consume for their communities, not for their own profit, and certainly not for the profit of large corporations.  The increasing presence of commercial ads on fan sites such as Fanfiction.net was insulting, and the creation of the notorious FanLib.com in 2007 was even more so.  If the presence of ads on sites like Fanfiction.net —where users feared that failing to write a clear enough disclaimer could be interpreted as an intent to profit by lawyers— was controversial, then FanLib, which was designed to profit off of fan fiction and which boasted paid promotions from media companies, was intolerable.  The FanLib debacle was the last straw, and outraged fans, frustrated with censorship and corporate intrusion and the loss of communities and cultures over the years, began to organize.
It was against this backdrop that the OTW formed, and it was in light of these discussions around the preservation of fan culture and history, the questions of censorship and profit, and the rights of fans, that fans created AO3 in 2008, with the site going into open beta in 2009.  Their rallying point was the idea of “owning the servers,” creating a centralized space controlled by fans where their communities and creators could exist in safety and stability, creating the content that they wanted without fear of deletion, censorship, or exploitation, which by its long-term preservation would help keep alive the fan cultures and communities that produced it.  With personal experience in fandom and previous fan archival projects, AO3’s creators were familiar with what fans needed or looked for in an archival space.  Accessibility was a must.  To that end, AO3 maintains a highly sophisticated descriptive tagging system, with volunteer “tag wranglers” interpreting and linking unique creator tags with larger related tags, preserving the creator’s descriptive intent while facilitating access to their works.  Autonomy was balanced with archival preservation — creators can submit and describe their works however they feel is best, and retain rights of deletion and anonymity, while leaving the archival work of preservation, management and accessibility to site volunteers.  Crucially, and sometimes controversially, AO3 permits fan content containing any subject without fear of censorship or deletion.  While users may submit complaints about individual works, and creators must still abide by the laws of their jurisdiction, AO3 enforces the rights of creators to create without fear of censorship or arbitrary deletion.  AO3 also operates entirely as a noncommercial and nonprofit organization with no ads or user fees, relying on a fan volunteer staff and annual fundraising drives.
Despite all the answers AO3 proposes to issues such as fan preservation, censorship, accessibility, and rights, many questions remain from both an archival and a fannish perspective about AO3’s role and functions as a community archive.   Just who is included in this community “of Our Own?”  What kind of cultural memory is being preserved, and how?  What is included and what is left out?  How does AO3’s commitment to freedom of the author relate to offensive content?  If the subculture being documented in these records is, by nature, counterculture, why seek legitimacy from mainstream institutions?  And in what ways does AO3 actually serve its users as a community archive, apart from making it easier to find a good read for a few hours?

Calm before the storm pt 1
A fic for the shadow people AU!
with the s7 shadows and all.
TW: mentions of traps, slight past trauma mention
“Creeper!”
… “aw man.”
“So we back in the-THUMP!”
He has to withhold a snarky laugh when wiping his head back to witness Shadoc tumble off the log he had been sitting on moments before.  The two were having a bit of a pow wow out in hermitvill, one of the places on the server with little redstone but lots of things to look at.
“what are you staring at hotshot! You fell out the portal when we got here.” Snark! Proof of confidence right there.
“On purpose of course.” no need to lie right
“On purpose.” he murmured “of course.”
He only smiled as he detached himself from the side of a frighteningly large plant and slid down the side to stand next to the embarrassed shadow.  They sat for a long time. Trying not to disrupt the peace, he could get his mirror to join in for songs now and help tie his hair up in all sorts of styles, he could barely step near him before without a nervous glance and a shuffle away
Their friendship has improved after he convinced him that he wasn't there to replace him>  He was so confused at first with this shadow that shook where he stands tall, who stepped away where he would move forward.  How could someone like Doc end up with a shadow so unlike himself, while he was so off the walls awesome and similar in his feral attitude.
    He found out of course
“You… You dont know?...”
He held back a snarl deep in the bowls of his black heart.  That was not a good day least be told. Not because of anything he did,  killing Doc in such an ironic way was incredibly satisfying. A simple bed bud switch that he doesn't remember how he learned to create and a multitude of deathtraps.  It was horrible because he had to watch this meek companion he had grown attached to come apart at the seams with confusion and grief.
“I have made mistakes… I have made mistakes, I continue to make them.”
“The promises ive made, the promises ive made i continue to make them”
Shadow looks up at him confused at the new choice of song and huffs with a smile,  A vine nearby curls toward the sound.
“All the doubts I face, all the doubts I face i continue to face them.”
He sings for what seems like ages but he knows this song isn't long.  He has sung it many times as he builds oh so alone and isolated. He knew one day he would sing this surrounded with the ones he cared about.  But right now just this one mattered. His brother a mirror into a dreary life that he can't help but sing and trip and smile and snark. He hopes he can see him smile calm and content and safe a thousand more times and a thousand after that.
“That one was different.  I like it.”
“Thought you would.”
He would fully admit this leviathan was a big softy.  He grabbed the vine that had slowly sunk its way down to him and used it to pull himself up.  He tied his hair back again as his metal arm scraped against itself in movement. He had other plans today that he wouldn't involve Shadoc.  His lodging had too much redstone for them to hang around together there. He did need to work on his traps though. Grinas pigeon boy had stopped by not a week ago to try and rope him in like he was some sheep that merino would herd away for slaughter.  His first trap had done his job in getting the brat away but it would never work a second time
“I'm not a fan of puppeteers!”

SLAM the trap snapped shut on the foul biscuit with wings, there was a hole at the bottom that lead put thousands of blocks away, he couldn't kill him with is because of the wings so may as well make him walk
Flip clack, flip clack, flip CRUNCH! The stick explodes in a sputter of splinters splattering superfishously against his skin.  The crush trap worked perfectly. Dropping any victim into a 1x1 pitfall and then the sides open and smash shut. Lava at the bottom for any hermit intruders.  If the pigeon showed up again one activation will leave him plummeting and if he opens his wings they will get crushed… should work theoretically.
His claws clack and click against the hardened floors of his newest base,  he moves frequently since he runs out of room or places to expand quickly. His home a labyrinth of thin halls and tunnels winding in and out of a hill with paths outside full of broken down machines for study.  There's a jukebox in all the major rooms. He likes this base a lot. All the insides are full of nooks and small areas of water that he can slip through. He made it to keep most hermits out but to allow him to still get people in and out on his terms,  All wide areas are cut off with doors with blocks missing from the middle so a skilled flier or shadow can slip by without access. His labyrinth was fit enough for a basilisk.
He settled himself into his living area.  He doesn't sleep but he has a few weighted blankets thrown around for when shadoc used to come see him here you.. You don't know? He shook his head around, no need to keep looking back to that.  They would run and hide away to enjoy each others company away from the very explosive redstone through the rest of his base..
abrupt cut off because I don't know if I'll remember to finish it tomorrow. There shall be more

Laws of Motion / Chapter 9 (Trixya) - DenDenMonMon
A/N: Massive thank you to the authors at the discord server for helping me figure out the characters for this chapter.
AO3 Link
Chapter 9 - Purple.
Katya was running.
She could feel the wet sand between her toes as she ran, the water splashing her shins. The salty wind hit her face as it danced with the breeze of the ocean. The sun above her sent merciless rays of light that warmed her skin and made her sweat.
She was laughing. Katya felt the laughter bubbling at the pit of her stomach, travel up her ribcage, move past her throat and come out in the form of a scream. She looked up at the sky, there wasn’t a single cloud in sight. Her arms went up to her sides and she spun. ‘Round and ‘round she went and the laughter didn’t stop. In all her thirty-plus years of life she had never felt happier.
A few feet away, sitting on the hot sand under an umbrella, Trixie played the guitar. In her tight one piece bathing suit, she allowed her legs to be exposed to the tanning sun. Her feet were buried all the way up to her ankles, and her bent knees supported the instrument against her stomach. Her short nails moved rapidly up and down, as the other hand pressed down the right chords. Trixie’s hair was higher than ever, teased into messy curls that moved in sync with the mild wind.
Katya stopped, her full attention was directed to the beautiful girl singing to her. Trixie’s eyes met Katya’s as her soft voice told her to take her time. That was a strange concept for her. Katya had never been one to ‘take her time’. She always needed to keep things moving, to be constantly on the go. She had taken enough time to heal already. As much as she loved this magical land she was immersed in, where there was no pain, no stress, no anxiety; she needed to return to the real world. She had loved the fantastic microcosmos she had created for herself, enjoying her time with no one else but Trixie, her singing, the sun and the ocean. She had to go back.
With firm steps she walked to Trixie, sat down next to her, and wrap an arm around her shoulders. Trixie was warm to the touch. Katya couldn’t help herself, and leaned to plant a kiss on Trixie’s cheek. Just before her lips could reach the purple blush, everything became blurry. Time stopped but simultaneously went faster. Their surroundings started spinning, and then Trixie was gone. Katya was left alone, pressing her knees against her chest as the world around her rapidly vanished.
That was when she heard the beeping sound again, it was still annoying as fuck. Trixie was still singing, Katya’s ears registered the voice, the soft notes of the guitar came later.
Her eyelids felt heavy, and it took Katya several tries before she could open them. The taste of plastic was gone, the pressure in her throat was not there anymore, and her neck was finally responding. She was able to turn her head towards Trixie, who sat on the same chair as before, legs crossed under herself. Katya wanted to get her attention, but no sound would leave her mouth. She tried to call out Trixie’s name, managing nothing more than a heavy exhale to go past her lips. Same breath that went completely unnoticed, lost among the melodies created by Trixie’s fingers on the strings.
“Trix…”
Did she say it?
Did she scream it?
Did she whisper it?
Katya didn’t know, but Trixie’s hands stopped at once, letting the guitar fall carelessly to the floor. She stood up, not even bothered by the loud bang, or the damage on the instrument; and quickly moved to be by Katya’s side.
“Oh, my God! Katya! Katya, are you awake? Katya. Oh, my God.”
Had Trixie’s voice always been that high pitched?
Katya closed her eyes, trying to physically shield herself from Trixie’s loud screaming.
“Oh, no, bitch, you are not leaving me again.” Trixie grabbed Katya by the shoulders, shaking her to stay awake. “Nurse!” If the constant movement wasn’t enough, Trixie decided to call out for help right next to Katya’s ear. “We need a doctor in here.”
From Katya’s side, Trixie pulled something that looked a lot like a remote control, and pressed every button as she screamed out for help. Katya wanted to ask her to calm down, to stop moving so fast and give her brain a minute to catch up with what was going on. Then, a thought hit her. A fainting memory suddenly reached her mind, scaring her to the core. She tried to get a hold of Trixie’s arm, who said so many things at once between her shouts for help.
“Trixie,” Katya whispered, finally being able to taste the name leaving her lips again. Her brain was still having issues connecting with the rest of her body. She did know that her mouth was not fully opened, her speech was not fully functional, but she had to ask something. “Tri-Trixie.”
“I’m here, I’m here. Oh, my God. You are awake. I can’t believe… Oh, my God.” Trixie was euphoric, she moved quickly from side to side, unsure of what to do. For a moment she just stopped, looked at Katya straight in the eye and smiled. “You are awake.”
There was nothing but genuine concern and tears gathering in her eyes. It was endearing, but Katya needed an answer. She tried to speak again, her throat hurt and air seemed to be lacking. “Trixie, did I… did I–“
Just when she was finding the strength to string enough words into a sentence, the door flew open. A doctor came rushing in, holding the stethoscope around her neck with both hands. She wasn’t even finished asking what was the emergency, when she noticed Katya’s wide eyes. A nurse entered right behind her, dressed in her purple scrubs, and big curly hair bouncing as she ran.
“Oh, girl, it was about time you joined the world of the living again.” The doctor had a teasing smile on her lips as she spoke, her hands moving rapidly around herself.
“She just woke up!” Trixie informed the doctor, still in the high pitch voice. “Alyssa, she’s been trying to say something.”
The nurse, who was checking the IV in Katya’s arm, was the one to reply. “Oh, no, baby girl. It’s still gonna take some time for you to get your voice back. Just take it easy, darling.”
Katya looked at the pair, then back at Trixie. She had addressed the doctor by her first name, which meant they had a certain level of comfort. Katya wondered if they knew each other from before, or if Trixie had spent so much time there that she had befriended the staff. She had that type of personality; it took her a while, but she ultimately would fit in every room she stepped in. Katya had to refocus, her thoughts were all over the place, it didn’t feel like the right time to investigate the nature of Trixie’s social skills. Her mind landed back in the reality of the present, where Trixie and ‘Alyssa’ discussed details of her waking up, and the nurse took information from the machine next to the bed and wrote it on Katya’s chart.
“Shangie, baby, give me my gloves. It’s time for Miss Thing here to get her shit together.” The doctor popped her tongue loudly as she took the latex gloves from the nurse’s hand. “Alright, Miss Zamolodchihuahua.”
Trixie smiled and whispered a small ‘oh, my God’ under her breath but didn’t stop the doctor’s explanation. She simply moved to the side, allowing the physicians to do their job.
“I… am doctor Alyssa Edwards, here saving lives, as it is our Lord’s plan. Yes, gawd. This fine nurse is Shangela.” The young woman waved at the mention of her name. “And here’s the whole tea.” She moved to the side and flipped a switch, a board lit up where several X-Rays had been placed. “You were involved in a fight, and got pretty beat by that beast!” The last word was shouted, making Katya flinched at the sudden sound. “You see here?” The doctor pointed at the image of Katya’s ribcage with a pen. “These are broken, and these two are bruised pretty bad.” She moved to the next image, which showed Katya’s skull. “You were hit on the head, even when nothing major was damaged, you have been unconscious for almost ten days. Girl, you do know how to take a nap, huh?” She laughed and turned the switch back off, her tongue popping again for no apparent reason. “We will run some tests, just to see how everything is working under the hood, okay? But you are fine, girl. Healthy and strong, baby girl.”
A button was pressed, Katya could feel the bed moving and herself being pushed into a sitting position.
“I need you to breath deep for me, Momma,” the nurse asked. “You were having trouble breathing before and we need to know how that’s going. Now, it’s gonna hurt, your ribs are still broken, but I need to check on them lungs, alright?”
Katya felt a wave of fear invading her. All the information was thrown at her and she wasn’t given any time to assimilate it. She had been on a fight, she remembered as much. But she also received a blow to the head, she had been out like a light for days, had broken ribs, wasn’t breathing. Her face probably showed how close to a panic attack she was, because Trixie quickly went around the bed and stood by her side, holding her hand with a reassuring smile.
“Hey, I’m here. They may be loud and annoying but Shangie has been taking amazing care of you all these days, and Alyssa… well, she’s alright.”
“Alright?!” Alyssa asked fully offended, despite Trixie’s laugh. “Excuse you, but I did not absolutely kill it at med school, and graduate top of my class, for you to say I’m alright.”
Nobody contradicted her, and Katya listened to whatever they asked her to do. The check up lasted way longer than Katya would have wanted. It felt like she spent hours being touched and pushed around, tubes were removed from several parts of her body, and needles went in and out without her permission. The mood was incredibly light as she was informed, between jokes and sarcastic remarks, how badly she had been injured and how long it was going to take for her to recover.
Trixie only stepped out once, with the excuse of calling Katya’s parents, who hadn’t been able to make the trip. Trixie promised them a video call as soon as things settled down and Katya had the strength to speak again. By the time she was back, Shangela was making the last adjustment to the medication dripping from the IV, and left the room almost immediately.
It felt unreal. Trixie had waited for this moment for days and, now that it was finally happening, she didn’t know what to do, she didn’t know how to act. She stared at Katya’s tired form, wrapped in the thin hospital sheet, and her head resting on the uncomfortable pillow. Still, Katya had a smile on her face. It wasn’t the open-mouthed one that showed all of her teeth, the one that was so undeniably Katya, but her lips were curved up at the corners. She was there, she was alive and awake. She hadn’t left her.
Katya didn’t leave Trixie.
The first tear ran down unannounced. Trixie felt the solitary drop trickle down her cheek, it followed the wrinkles around her mouth and she tasted the salty liquid on her lips. Then a second tear came, then another, and another. Before she knew it, Trixie was crying inconsolably. She sobbed at the entrance of Katya’s room, overcome with emotions that she hadn’t given permission to fully settle.
Katya extended her arms as much as she could, her hands opened and closed, motioning Trixie to move closer. She did. Still crying, Trixie went to her with shaky steps, and sat on the bed. That wasn’t enough for Katya. With a slight pull of her clothes, she made Trixie lie down next to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. Trixie felt the erratic rising and falling of Katya’s chest, she was silently crying; which only encouraged her to do the same.
They held each other and cried for what felt like forever.
“I thought we…” Trixie stopped. That was not the time to generalized. Now, more than ever, she had clarity of what she felt, she needed to express her true feelings. “I thought I had lost you,” she confessed. “If I had lost you, I wouldn’t know what to do with myself.” Katya’s eyes widened in shock, forcing Trixie to provide an explanation. “It was horrible, horrible, to see you just here, not moving or anything. It was as if someone had literally taken my heart out of my chest, tap danced on it, and flushed it down the toilet.”
Once again, Katya’s expressive eyes told her everything she needed to know. Katya was shocked, surprised, touched; and all of that was clear in the endless pools of emotions that were her pupils.
“Oh!” Trixie suddenly exclaimed, removing herself from Katya’s embrace and sitting up a little. “We caught her, Katya. We found the bitch that did this to you and locked. her. up.” She punctuated the last few words for emphasis, causing yet a fresh wave of tears to fall freely from Katya’s eyes. “I wasn’t going to let her walk, not after everything she did to you. Think again, Brenda.”
With the little strength she had left, Katya held Trixie’s face with both hands. Her throat felt itchy and scratchy as she tried to speak, nothing but grunting managed to leave her lips. She needed to do something to express the gratitude she was feeling, so she did the only thing that came to her mind. She kissed her. Katya closed her eyes and, taking advantage of the hold she had on Trixie’s face, pulled her to meet her lips. The first kiss almost didn’t register as such, just two sets of lips barely making contact. Yet, it worked as a gateway for everything they had been keeping, even to themselves, to come up to surface. That one peck led to an actual kiss, then lips were wrapping around each other, then tongues were exploring mouths, and hands were exploring bodies. It wasn’t until Katya yelped in pain, that they realized how far they had taken it.
A soft laughter left Trixie as she rested her head against Katya’s forehead. Their eyes crossed as they tried to keep a hold on each other’s stare.
“I love you.”
Katya heard her. The three words had been whispered, but they had been so loaded with emotion that there was no way Katya couldn’t have gotten the message. It took her a moment to react, Trixie looked at her expectantly, before she started to backtrack in fear.
“Look, listen, I… if it’s too much, I–”
The rest of the sentences died against Katya’s lips as she kissed Trixie again. Katya desperately nodded her head, unable to form words, but letting Trixie know she felt the same way. They kissed again, and again. They were happy to have found the courage to finally let their true feelings out, even if it was through a near death experience like this one.
Still in a tangled mess of limbs, was that Ginger found them. “Ugh! Lesbianism.” The sarcastic remark lost impact as she practically ran to Katya’s side. She hugged her friend, cried out how much she had missed her and how grateful she was that Katya was okay.
Little did they know, that was how they were going to spend the next few days. Trixie slept with her on the bed, and they kissed every chance they had. Alyssa took Katya away for scans and X-Rays, changed the medication, and wrote things down on the chart. Visitors came and went, staying way after the allowed hours and annoying the hell out of Shangela. Trixie would laugh at the way she tried to kick Kasha and Tempest out of the nurse’s break room, woke up Kennedy from her nap on the lounge, reminded Roy he was not in charge at that hospital.
Even when they hadn’t confirmed anything, people already treated Trixie and Katya as a couple. They asked Trixie how she was feeling, and how she was dealing with the whole situation. Katya received many comments about Trixie being by her side every night, and working tirelessly to catch the attacker during the day. They simply looked at each other from across the room, knowingly smiling to their friends’ words, and nodding when required.
Slowly but surely Katya recovered her voice, the bruised ribs were all better, and the broken ones were well on their way to recovery. According to the doctor, it usually took one to two months for those to heal. Katya’s body, which had always been a scientific enigma, was pretty much ready to go by the beginning of week four. No major damage had been found, there was no amnesia or loss of mobility. Exactly a month after being rushed into the ER, Katya was being released. She said goodbye to the people who had literally saved her life as Trixie pushed the wheelchair through the hallways. She could walk just fine, but it was hospital policy. The staff was sad to see them leave; Trixie and Katya had become an important source of entertainment, but they were happy to know Katya was well enough to go home.
Trixie drove them to Katya’s apartment. Even when she had offered her place, Katya had insisted she was okay to go back to that space. Trixie had gone and cleaned the apartment many times in the last couple of days. She moved stuff around, then put them back where they belonged. She was constantly debating if she wanted Katya to come back to a fresh new place, with no memories of the attack hidden between the curtains, or if it was better for her to feel right at home. At the end, she had to settle with something in the middle, since a lot of the furniture had been taken away as evidence, and the cleaning alone left the apartment looking extremely different.
Katya walked with slow steps and stopped right before Trixie could put the key in the lock.
“Hey, Trix?” She waited until she gained Trixie’s full attention to continue. “Did I shit myself?” she asked flatly.
“Wha-what?”
“Did I shit myself?” the words were repeated in the same tone.
Trixie didn’t know where that question came from, and surely showed as much in her facial features, because Katya’s shoulders dropped as she exhaled loudly.
“When I was coming home that night, the night of the attack, I really needed to use the bathroom. Like, I was shitting myself the whole way home. Then… then, it happened. When I was found, did I have shit all over myself?”
She didn’t mean to, but Trixie couldn’t help but laugh hysterically. She screamed in joyful surprise at how serious Katya was. Katya was really concerned about the matter, her straight face only fueled Trixie’s laughter even more, as wrong as it could be. It took several seconds of Trixie imitating a horn running out of batteries, before she could speak again, assuring Katya that no, she hadn’t shit herself during the fight. Katya visibly relaxed her whole body, sighing with relief. That was when Trixie decided not to tease her any more and helped her in.
Katya drank it all in with her eyes. She noticed right away the missing decoration, the couches that faced a different direction, the dinner table that had been removed. None of that really mattered, the only thing - the only person, she needed to feel safe, to feel at home, was holding her by the elbow and directing her to the bedroom, rambling on and on about what they were going to find in the next room.
“Alyssa said you needed some rest, so I came earlier and did your bed; washed the sheets and everything. You said you wanted to get ready for the sergeant’s exam, so I got you some tests examples and practice sheets. I also put some books on the nightstand, in case you wanted to read, and moved the TV from the living room. Now, I know you don’t like–”
Katya stared at her with a smile, making Trixie uncomfortable enough to stop talking.
“What?” Trixie asked with a shaky voice. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Katya said, shaking her head, the maniac smile still nailed to her lips. “I swear it’s nothing, I… I just love you.”
Trixie’s jaw dropped dramatically. This was the first time Katya actually pronounced the words. They entered through Trixie’s ears, bounced against the walls of her brain, travelled down past her heart, and settled somewhere hot between her legs.
“I love you, too,” Trixie replied, but Katya shook her head.
“Okay, listen. I don’t do feelings, okay? But I do want to let this out.”
Trixie restarted the movement and didn’t say anything. They both sat on the edge of the bed, Katya wincing slightly at the pain.
“Go on,” Trixie encouraged her.
With a deep sigh, Katya did. “I’m not an emotional person, feelings just… ugh.” She made a disgust face to portray what she couldn’t put into words. “It’s not easy for me to say it. I’ve only said ‘I love you’ to my mom, my dad, and a lizard that I burnt.”
“Oh, wow,” Trixie exclaimed. “Did you kill it? How did you burn it?”
“With fire, but that’s beyond the point. Shut up.” Katya tried to flail her hands, pain stopped her from expressing herself like she usually did. “I’m a very direct person. I have no issues walking up to a person, look at them straight in the eye, and say: I am very attracted to you right now, and would like for us to have sexual intercourse, if you are so inclined; and then we can never talk to each other, ever again.”
Her speech was interrupted by Trixie’s laughter. “Casual sex has never been more formal.”
“Hey, I’m serious.” Katya’s statement contradicted itself when she pronounced the words between giggles. “I never stick around after I stick it in.”
“Oh, my God! You better have a point at the end of all of this.”
“I would reach it, if only you’d stop interrupting me.” Trixie lifted her hands in surrender, and motioned for her to continue. “Fuck, all I’m trying to say is that I love you, okay? Like, I really do love you. I feel it in all my rotten, broken bones. I’ve loved you since the night that I saw you crying at the bar, chugging a whole bottle of beer. I was just too disconnected with my emotions to even know it myself. It was easier to pretend I only wanted your hot body, which I still do, by the way, but I also want the rest of you, all of you.”
Trixie bit her lip, maybe trying not to cry, maybe preventing a smile from spreading all over her face, probably just stopping herself from interrupting.
“It means a lot to hear you say that,” she finally admitted. “For the longest time, I thought I was just obsessed with the beautiful girl that wanted nothing to do with me. Truth is, you awoke something in me, and I wouldn’t believe it. I couldn’t be gay. I’ve never felt attracted to any other girl before, but all I could think about was you, and kissing you, and touching you. I guess I settled with being Katya-sexual.”
She said it so easily, with the shrug of a shoulder, that it caused laughter to emanate from Katya in the form of a whistle-like sound.
Chuckling herself, Trixie continued, barely able to keep a straight face. “I mean it. Very quickly I realized I didn’t want to be with anybody else, boy, girl, or anything in between. I guess I knew my fate was to be with you.”
Katya leaned in and found Trixie’s lips again. They shared a sweet kiss to seal their love confessions, with unspoken promises of honesty and loyalty. A kiss that intensified as feelings and emotions finally ran freely. It continued until lungs cried out for air and the only option was to separate.
“Are you tired?” Trixie asked concerned. “How are you feeling about this whole thing?”
“I-I don’t know. I’m still trying to digest everything, I suppose. This was probably one of the most terrifying experiences of my life. I am a trained fighter, Trixie. Not only because I’m part of the Los Angeles Police Department, but, did you know I did martial arts for ten years?” Trixie shook her head, shock written all over her face. “Yes, bitch,” Katya assured her, even when Trixie wasn’t doubting it. “My dad is a karate master. He’s, like, fifth degree black belt. He taught me, from a really young age, when I used to be bullied at school, how to defend myself. Never to start a fight,” she added quickly, a finger up in front of herself for clarification. “But he trained me to defend myself, and I failed him.”
“No, you didn’t!” Trixie’s answer came out a little too quick. “Girl, you should have seen that Latrice bitch. Her face was–”
“Is that her name?” Katya interrupted with a whisper.
Just then did Trixie realize what she had done. She looked down and nodded. “Latrice Royale, she was one of Manila’s clients who didn’t take the arrest all that well.”
“I’ll say,” Katya added with a twist of her lips.
Trixie’s hand went up to caress Katya’s face, her fingers ghosted over the purple bruises on Katya’s temple. “We don’t need to talk about her. She’s away and won’t be able to hurt you anymore.” She stood up and offered Katya her hand. “Detective Zamo, would you allow me to take you to bed?”
Even against herself, and the pain on her side, Katya laughed and took Trixie’s hand. “Jesus Christ, Detective Mattel, I thought you would never ask.”
As she dropped Katya softly on the pillows, Trixie froze. “Oh, God. You know when you said that to me before?” Trixie said a bit nervous.
Katya simply nodded. “Yeah, when you asked to sit on my face.”
Trixie hid her face in her hands as she muffled a string of curse words.
Once again, Katya laughed, pulling Trixie to lay next to her. “Hey, it’s fine. You can do that again right now, you know? Like, I may not be able to move much, but my tongue is surely working.”
Trixie giggled like a little girl, pressing her face against Katya’s arm. “Oh, my God. Shut up!”
They laughed some more before they fell into a comfortable silence. Trixie ran her fingers up and down Katya’s arm, soothing the skin around the cuts and scrapes. A wave of emotions hit her again. There probably would never be a time when she wouldn’t be thankful that Katya made it. Trixie didn’t believe in God, or karma, or the healing powers of good vibes, but she wanted to thank something, or someone for allowing Katya to be there, alive and well. She should probably send a bottle of wine to the doctor; and a promise to the universe to never take what she had for granted.
Immersed in that state of gratitude is that a thought reached her mind. “Hey, while you were, umm, asleep,” Trixie paused, doubting if that was the right wording for what Katya went through. “Did you, like, dream or something? Or was it, like, you blinked and suddenly ten years have passed?”
“Oh, it was amazing!” Her voice filled with excitement as Katya explained. “I could be wherever I wanted. Sometimes we were strolling down Vermont Street, you know, just looking at all the shops. Other times, we met at a beach somewhere–”
“We?”
“Com’ere, Momma.” Since she couldn’t really move, Katya pulled Trixie to prop on one elbow, so they could be face to face. “You were always there with me. I could feel you, I knew you were there. I couldn’t always understand what you were saying, but your voice was always there. I heard you singing, telling me stories. For some reason I remember something about you using Gatorade as lube?”
Trixie screamed. “No! That was my roommate. I can’t believe you were listening to all of that. I felt so stupid talking to myself all the time.”
“Oh, no! Hearing you speak was the only thing keeping me from going towards the light. Well, there was no light, really, but, like, you know what I mean.” An unexpected yawn left her lips, she tried to stop it by closing her mouth, but still her tiredness made it through.
Pulling the sheet to cover them both, Trixie kissed Katya’s cheek. “Go to sleep. I’ll be right here when you wake up.”
“No, I’m fine. Hey, let’s take a look at those practice tests you were talking about.”
“Girl, no. There’s plenty of time for that. Why don’t you take a nap and then we check those over dinner tonight?”
Katya nodded, her eyes already closing as she curled up next to Trixie. “Would you talk to me as I fall asleep? Tell me about that roommate of yours.”
Trixie did as Katya requested. She repeated the story and watched Katya drift off to a peaceful sleep, wondering if Katya knew there was very little Trixie wouldn’t do for her.
