Hi Neil!
My mom received quite a bit of money recently, and decided part of what she’s doing with it is sending my wife and I on the two-week UK honeymoon we never got to have (we’re US American and had a no-budget courthouse wedding in 2015 when it was legalized).
Any sort of travel is normally way, way out of our budget, so we’re trying to enjoy this experience as much as we can. I know you’re not a travel agent, but since I admire you a lot and sometimes you’re kind enough to answer questions: is there anything you’d personally recommend doing? Any places you absolutely have to stop in whenever you’re there? Sights we have to make sure we see in person?
We’re also both big fans of the Good Omens TV show, so if you or your followers know of any places from the show we can visit (without bothering anyone!) I’d love to hear them. We’ve already got the parks planned out!
Thank you so much for putting your art out into the world for the rest of us <3
I'm going to toss this out into the world as Good Omens fans probably have more ideas than I do. Just make sure you wander Soho.

Library tour - Pratchett and Gaiman focused with some honourable mentions
Of course I've constantly had full bookshelves since I was a child, but I'd always wanted a room I could properly call a library. The house my husband and I now live in has 3 bedrooms, so as we're child free we've each taken one of the spare rooms to do with as we wish.
The majority of the furniture you see is thrifted (aside from the bookcases) and it was self decorated with a lot of cut corners-for example I decided instead of proper flooring it would be cheaper just to pull up the carpet and varnish the actual boards.
I spend more time in here than I do in our living room 😁
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gaiman stuff. Sandman alongside some Alan Moore, Preacher, Hellblazer, my signed copy of The Crow and one volume of Sin City. Two copies each of Ocean (one illustrated), and American Gods (original and authors preferred text). And of course one of my copies of Good Omens. Plus you can see the novelisation of Pan's Labyrinth sitting next to Neverwhere. Del Toro is another favourite fantasist of mine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pratchett stuff. Complete Discworld of course, and I'm slowly increasing my non Discworld Pratchett collection, my second copy of GO, the Paul Kidby illustrated edition (makes sense to have one living with the Gaiman books and the other with Pratchett). Soul Music and Hogfather are both signed, I met Pterry when I was 14 on the Hogfather signing tour.
The crocheted toy was actually from a pattern for a mimic I made (pattern by Complicated Knots on YouTube), but it's luggage-y enough that I put it with the Discworld books, Rob Wilkins' biography of Pterry, and a Librarian to look after everything, make sure the books don't get rowdy and take care of the L-space. I've had him since I was 18.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Specifically Good Omens stuff: a pair of felt plushies a friend made for me after S1 was released (@diedarlingsuk on Instagram), a pair of drawings I bought from a very talented 15 year old artist at a tiny comic con also after S1, (I'd credit her but I've no idea of her name or if she has an online presence), the script book, the TV companion, and an art book by the wonderful @mistysblueboxstuff, who I'm sure most of the fandom know and love. This contains all her GO art from S1 and S2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Honourable mention stuff - I put above that I love Del Toro, so I've got to share the Angel of Death from Hellboy 2 as its one of my favourite things in this room. And its an angel, so that's kinda linked.
Made for me by another friend from clay on a doll's body and the wings on wire frames (@sids_workshop on Instagram).
Finally the Complete William Blake illuminated works, a guidebook to a Blake exhibition I went to, and Gustav Dore illustrated copies of Dante, Milton, Coleridge, Tennyson and Poe. I am a huge poetry nerd, and I think many GO fans would find a lot to interest them in some of these, particularly Blake and Milton.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I could go on, there's tons of other stuff I'd like to include but this post is fairly massive already and I wanted to try and stick to my theme.

I had the amazing privilege of seeing Michael Sheen in Nye a few nights ago at the National Theatre.
The play:
Nye was amazing. Michael was brilliant and in command of the stage the whole time. I am not a big theater-goer. So this was a big deal for me. But seeing him perform on stage was just wonderful. I truly appreciate his skills on a whole new level now. The rest of the cast was brilliant too. They each played multiple roles throughout the timeline of the play. I highly recommend going to see it if you can. He sings! He dances! I cried! I laughed! I’m trying my best to give you a spoiler free review! But I promise you won’t be disappointed. 😊 it’s really really good. 👍 Go! Support Michael and the arts!
My personal experience:
I had a mix of excitement and anxiety all day but it really amped up when I got to the theater. Like omg this is really happening. I took a pic by the poster and it’s obvious I am an excited weirdo. 😆
Tumblr media
Now that I was here, the next step was going to the national theatre gift shop. They had a lot of cute things and a really cool display for Nye.
Tumblr media
I purchased my program and the cashier was very friendly. She complimented my Good Omens pin and said they usually come out stage door so make sure to go around back after, and enjoy the show. 😊 (internally squeeing) I thanked her and we went and got some food and a cider.
We made our way to the doors and were led to our seats. Then I started getting the omg we’re here this is actually happening mentality. We were pretty close. An omg he will be right there! Soon! 😬
Tumblr media
We had 8th row seats 😳 it seemed very close and I was freaking out.
I read some reviews and saw the newly released press photos of the play. So I knew a little what to expect of the show too, but honestly it was sooo good. I don’t want to give away any spoilers because the play is AMAZING. Michael and the rest of the cast did so well. Michael is very active and moved all over the stage. I am so impressed by his abilities as an actor. He fucking sings! And it’s wonderful! And our seats were close enough to see all the micro expressions on his face. 😃 If you have the means to go and see this either in London or later in Wales - GO! You will not regret it.
At the end I took a pic of the actors (though I didn’t get everyone) and I got the very end when Nye can see the impact of his accomplishments.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now for the fangirling part of my night. I was trying my best not to be a complete dork. I knew from other fans previously posting that he typically comes out at the stage door after the show. So I had an idea what to expect. He came out pretty soon after the show ended. I’m guessing there were maybe 50-60ppl there. He just started talking to people, signing things, taking photos like this is no big deal. And they would leave and it would be the next person’s turn. Everyone was very considerate of each other and Michael’s time. And he was kind and generous and spoke genuinely to each person and made so many people happy that night. just by being himself and taking some extra time before he went home. He really is an angel. ❤️
Eventually it was my turn. Somehow I didn’t mumble or giggle like an idiot. where did I find the ability to speak? - I really have no idea 🤷‍♀️ I told him the show was amazing. He thanked me. And while signing my program I told him we came over from America for my birthday to see him. He wished us luck in the rest of our trip. I got a selfie with him and internally died. He wished me happy birthday (died again). I thanked him and then it was the next person’s turn. I walked about 50ft away and jumped up and down like an idiot. Hopefully he didn’t see.
But holy shit. 😃
I met Michael Sheen!!!! 😃❤️😃
And he was the nicest person ever. 😃😃😃

Could you do some HH and interactions with your good omens au in readers birthday?
<3
I got another ask for good omens, so I'm just going to do Hazbin Hotel here.
Below the cut is how each of the Hotel crew celebrate your birthday.
Masterlist---Hazbin Hotel au masterlist
---
Charlie:
Charlie loves birthdays, probably because he dad always put in the effort to give her big, amazing birthdays when she was young. She does the same for you now that she's older. She has to pry your birthday out of you, but once she does she immediately gets to work making the best party ever. One fault of Charlie is I think when she gets into something she doesn't take into account anyone else's perspective, regardless of what it was about. So even when people are saying to her face that you're probably going to get too overwhelmed at a big party, she doesn't listen, because in her head everyone likes parties. Even if you aren't the biggest fan, you have to know that she's coming from a good place, right?
Charlie would be expecting a positive reaction from you, so if you do act a little off putted from the party she might be a little disappointed. But even so, she has a bunch of gifts to give you, all which are similar to the ones she got a child. This is probably because she still views you as a child, regardless of your age.
Vaggie
Vaggie goes a long with whatever Charlie wants, so when she learns that you're getting a party, she grins and bears it, even though she knows it might be too much. She keeps subtly trying to tell Charlie that you might not like this and that this might be too much but ultimately, she wants to make both you and her happy.
Vaggie puts in the effort to get you a gift that you'd like. It might be a sketchbook, some art supplies, or even just some time alone. Vaggie isn't good at proclamations of care like Charlie, but she does her best. She'd give you the gift before your birthday, in hope that your reaction to the party might be a little better because you got an early gift.
Once the actual birthday party comes, she's constantly making sure you're having a good time, to the point where she might be the problem. She's hovering, making sure everything is going well, she honestly just wants you and Charlie to be happy, so she'll do what she can to make sure everything is good.
Alastor
I don't imagine Alastor cares much for birthdays. He doesn't give off the vibe of someone who gets supper excited for his or others birthdays. However, it might be a little different when it comes to you. Alastor doesn't realize your birthday is coming up until Charlie talks about it. Even then, don't expect him to get you some big gift or to sing you happy birthday. I image the most he does it take you to have an extra nice lunch with him and Rosie. Rosie herself might get you something nice, probably some clothes, but Alastor still doesn't do much.
Alastor does care about you, so he will come to your party when it inevitably happens. Once there, he'll probably gift you with something small, like a bracelet or neckless, something that he'd prefer if you'd wear often.
Alastor has no qualms with birthday, I think a large reason he doesn't do much to celebrate with you is that he doesn't like the ideas of you getting older. As you get older it becomes less easy to manipulate you, so he tries to remind you of your ties with him through gifts like jewelry that maybe you can't take off.
Birthdays are an iffy subject for Alastor, at least when they come to you.
Angel
Angel doesn't really know how to celebrate your birthday since if it was him, he'd go to a bar and get drunk off his mind. But since you aren't that big of a fan of alcohol, he decides against it. He still wants to do something nice for you, so he's really the first person to just ask what you want to do.
You, him, and Husk end up watching a movie together a few days before your birthday. It's some cliche horror movie that he barely remembers, but you seemed pretty happy. He doesn't know if it's because the movie, or because it's for your birthday, or if its because of him, but he's glad your happy.
Part of Angel is upset that Charlie threw you this big party, even though it's obviously not something you'd like. She doesn't ask at any point what you'd want, she just assumes. She even has the audacity to be disappointed when you're overwhelmed by everything that's going on. Angel might drag you away from everything, towards the bar with Husk, just so that you don't have a panic attack. He wants to make sure your birthday is a good on, so he keeps you by his side where he's sure you'd be safe.
Husk
Husk is old and hasn't celebrated his birthday in years, so he doesn't really know what to do when yours roles around. He tags along when Angel invites him to watch a movie you you and him, just so that there's something he could do for you. However even then there's still this feeling that he should do something more for you.
Husk might gift you something small, something that you can decorate your desk with, like a little trinket. He isn't really the best at giving gifts, so he doesn't actually give it to you in person. Instead, he leaves it on your desk or your bed in the hotel. Even if you thank him, he acts like he doesn't know what you're talking about.
Husk cares about you a lot, so like Vaggie, he might help you get some time alone by giving you an alibi when you leave the hotel or take a nap in your room. He knows it isn't much, but he wants to do something for you that actually has impact, he doesn't see the point of gifting you something that you might not even use.
During the party Husk watches as you struggle to keep up with everything. He'll help you calm down with drinks and food, anything that will make you feel better. He even tries to crack the occasional joke, as long as it means you'll be happy.
---
A/n: sorry if I didn't include the character you wanted.

Can I request good omens Crowley x reader? Where they’re out and about together and his sunglasses get lost or broken or whatever and reader helps him out somehow bc Crowley doesn’t want to make a big scene? (Leading him while he closes his eyes or lending him their ridiculous heart sunglasses or something idk lol)
Thank you!
Tumblr media
Pairing: Crowley x Reader
Word count: 957
A/n: I had fun writing this, I hope you enjoy it. The reader is modeled after me but that’s because it made it easier to write their outfit, you can change it if you want though. Any ways enjoy and remember Requests are currently Open. MINORS AND AGELESS BLOGS DO NOT INTERACT
Today was going to be fantastic. Me, Crowley and Aziraphale were out enjoying a ‘small’ local Pride event. You see, I’m a nonbinary transmasculine person dating the not so evil Demon Crowley. I had convinced him and Aziraphale to come with me to this event for two reasons. One, I love hanging out with my demon and our angel friend. And Two, It’s nice to be able to express myself in a group of people who understand me.
The best part was, I somehow convinced both of them to drop their monochrome looks for something with a bit more color. Aziraphale was easy to convince, I got him a nice button up with a pride flag on the pocket, a rainbow bow tie and a pair of rainbow shoes. Crowley on the other hand took a bit of bribery. After hours of begging and making promises the demon finally agreed to at least wear bisexual flag tie and a few different pride pins including a nonbinary rainbow.
You might be asking that if I got those two to wear pride stuff, I must be wearing something as well, and you would be right. I chose to go a little more bold. I decided to wear my nonbinary flag chest binder with a pair of skinny jeans that have different flags embroidered on it. I also opted for my custom pride converse. To complete the look I had turned my Trans flag into a cape with a piece of ribbon and threw on a pair of rainbow heart shaped sunglasses.
Now that you have an idea of what our lovely little group is wearing on to the event. Like I said it was supposed to be just a small event in the park but knowing the LGBTQ community it blew up fairly quickly.
We walked through the park looking at different stands where small businesses were selling different things they made for pride. I pulled my companions over to one table that had different pieces of fan art for popular queer ships, and picked one up for satosugu from JJK paying the kind person on the other side of the table. We then moved on.
“It’s so lovely to see all these wonderful people come together to celebrate each other.” Aziraphale said observing the large crowd around us.
I looked over to him and smiled. “I know right in spite of all the terrible things we have to deal with on a daily basis, it’s nice to be able to be open and proud of who we are.” I said enjoying the feeling of being accepted.  We continued to walk as a group before Zira noticed a stand selling a variety of books written by queer authors, and he abruptly excused himself getting lost in the crowd of people leaving me with my demon boyfriend.
“For the love of Satan!” I heard Crowley exclaim as he let go of my hand. I turned around to see him looking towards the ground. “You gotta be kidding me!” He continued as I noticed his signature sunglasses on the ground, one lens popped out of place and the other shattered on the ground.
I walked up to him picking the broken glasses up, trying to think of a solution. “Do you have another pair? Or could you miracle new ones?” I asked, realizing there was no fixing the broken glasses.
He let out a grunt of disdain for the situation. “No, that was my last pair and I very well can’t miracle another in front of these people. I’ll just have to walk around with my eyes closed.” He said, raising his head with his eyes shut hiding his vibrant yellow eyes.
I looked at him with a frown. “But if you keep your eyes closed you won’t be able to see all the cool things here.” I said with a sad tone. “You could just tell people you’re wearing contacts.” I said, trying to think of ways he could still enjoy the day.
“No one would believe that, you know contacts don’t dilate and stuff. It’s fine, as long as you lead me around I'm sure we will still have fun.” Crowley said, brushing off my suggestion as we slowly made our way through the crowd.
I stayed silent for a moment trying to think of a solution and then I remembered I was wearing my own pair of sunglasses. “Hey Crowley, what if you wear my sunglasses? It would cover your eyes and we could look at everything together.” I said taking my sunglasses off and placing them on his face. I watched as he opened his eyes behind the rainbow lenses.
Crowley took a moment to register that the world was now tinted in rainbow instead of the normal darkness he was used to. “This is the only time I will wear these. As soon as we leave I’m fixing my normal ones.” He said, I just smiled at how cute he looked wearing the colorful shades, paired with his signature scowl. “But thank you love, I appreciate it.” He said leaning in to leave a peak on my check.
I returned the gesture and grabbed his hand before pulling him back into the large crowd looking at the different stands. We spent the rest of the afternoon talking to people, and buying from small businesses. When we met up with Zira he was shocked by the sight of Crowley wearing the rainbow glasses but dropped it after receiving a death glare from the demon.
Overall it was a great day, talking to fellow members of the queer community, spending time with my favorite demons and angels, and finally seeing Crowley wearing something other than his dark glasses.

Hello, I'm a Homestuck and Good Omens fan and just saw your post about coffee. I came to the Homestuck fandom way late, though, and don't know what the coffee theory was. I was wondering if you'd be willing to share that story from the trenches if it's not too traumatic :)
Tumblr media
I'll preface by saying, this all happened near about the time I began to step away from Homestuck, as this was late 2011 to early 2012. My recollection could very well be missing some juicier deets, because I always managed to avoid the worst of it. In all I had a pretty benign time floating about the Homestuck fandom, I'll say that. My knowledge is as a fly's.
If you want the short version: once upon a time, the Homestuck fandom was so stupid it had discourse over the way coffee was drawn in a single panel, because the stylistic choice used to show the way cheap potted coffee has that oil slick sheen on the top Really got the gamerz thinking Gamzee was putting troll blood in the coffee.
The long version is this: this Act was annoying. All the Acts had been annoying, there'd been rather more than six of them so far. The fandom's toxicity was at its most potent, and the main fandom exodus hadn't happened yet. But the stylistic choice brewing on page 4702 of A6I2 suggested a discourse was on the horizon, and it was the size of planet fucking Jupiter.
To understand the affairs of 2011/12 Homestucks, a few things are important to mention: first, nobody enjoyed Act 6. Ask anyone from the tumblr era First Wave, we all agreed that Cascade would have been a better place to start wrapping up the comic as a whole. When Act 6 opened introducing the alpha kids, a whole new plot derivative, and we all realized we'd have to go through the same slog again, that the story wasn't over, the collective exhaustion was palpable. SWATHS left unhappy; worse yet (for some), the alpha kids brought us away from the game of SBURB and the over-aching plot, to instead place our focus on their interpersonal relationships. It was a bad time to take your audience away from a well crafted climax.
Reading it now as a completed work makes this not so bad, because the book is wrote. You can consume it as a finished piece and clearly interpret a through line for yourself, start to finish. Skip it even, if you want. When you've no idea at what time the next update will come, while all the pieces remain necessary to tell the story, any pacing is bad pacing.
Second, while Homestucks are known for many things - all of them cringe - the one that goes overlooked most, in spite of the ripple effect we still feel from it today in every corner, is the sheer amount of over analyzing done to the story itself. Every panel, every inch of every pixel, was a part of a puzzle we all collectively made up. Theorizing was an integral part to the Update Culture era of Homestuck's fandom, that we Figure Out the Story, you had to be the one who predicted what came next. Impressive how none of us came up with some kind of fandom Nobel Peace Prize, for how much we lauded it as a lifetime achievement.
I'll give you, Homestuck does have a very rich narrative. Much of it, I'll favor, is even intentional. It made worldbuilding choices captivating enough to get people painting themselves grey, for fun, so surely it had a few right ideas in some places. And there's nothing wrong about analyzing your media, picking apart its references to tie together a background story, even if it's just one you make up based on how you experienced reading it. That's kind of the whole point of consuming art. It's to be discussed, share your personal conclusions on. Theory is the breath of creativity.
It's the whole part about wanting to be right, where Homestucks as a collective force wanted to start eating each other alive on the spot. We were fucking OBNOXIOUS with theory posting. I'll be honest with you, I really ate that kind of thing up, and even I was getting annoyed. People were beginning to stretch, likely to cope with becoming bored.
Finally, the sober Gamzee controversy. This came about a while before coffeegate, but the effect the inciting update had on Homestucks is comparable to a haunting. It was fucking chernobyl, and a bad day to be a nuclear scientist because now it was your problem. Vriska fans - equally insufferable, as we all were by some respect[1] - and Gamzee fans fought with each other VEHEMENTLY, just to see whos gang was better. Keep that in the background of your mind as the theme music to what's playing. Everyone was anxiously wondering what had happened to Gamzee, because for the last several some-odd panels, we'd lost the boy. He was full of murderous intent, we were down to precious few characters on the meteor left, and we'd lost the boy.
So here we are. It's 2011. We're standing now at the end of the world, we've lost the boy for several panels, and finally the plot is trying to move along. We're all tired, and irritated, and divorced, doing this song and dance one more time but god willing the LAST TIME, when a joke about the look of shitty potted coffee gets made.
Tumblr media
And some harbinger of the fucking apocalypse takes to tumblr dot com, drafting up a post about how Gamzee - living in the meteor walls - is putting troll blood into the coffee. Because, otherwise, how is Kanaya as a rainbow drinker doing so fine? Dave called the taste metallic, like blood. Something something long forgotten theories about trolls blood here something something. People would chime in to say "that's just how coffee looks", somehow it dissolved into actual discourse of people violently discussing back and forth how it could ONLY BE BLOOD, because coffee drawn in a prior panel UPDATES AGO didn't have the film on top, only now AFTER SOBER GAMZEE. Etcetera. It was just the worst case of reading too hard into something that you done ever did see.
Shortly following this, many people who were already growing exhausted with Homestuck's narrative direction at this point decided to take this coffee theory as their sign the flood was coming and to board the ark or learn how to swim. Anyone who learned to swim subsequently left during the exodus of 2015.
Again, my memory is pretty hazy. Thanks to Requiem Cafe, surprisingly difficult to google these days. Certainly another old still following me will have something more to add that I'm forgetting, as your handy dandy unreliable narrator.
[1] Said the Eridan fan.

*sigh*
.......still struggling with sleep.
It got bad this past Wednesday when I had a hard time keeping my balance, and focusing was hard. Ended up staying home from work to see my doctor. I was prescribed sleep meds, and my diet pills were lowered in dosage.
I'm still losing weight every day. At 241 lbs this morning(started with 272 lbs on June 27th). But since August 3rd, I've been sleeping an average of 2 to 4 hours a night. Sometimes, I get lucky and have a combination of hours of sleep that add up to 6! But no more than that.
Once I wake up, I can't sleep for two hours. Then I crash and wake up 2 or 3 hours later. Falling asleep, when my eyes go blurry, is easy but beyond that .... like staying asleep? Yeah, no....
I plan on making another appointment this next week but I'm sure they will have me wait till my vital check-up on the 5th of September.
I'm nippy, annoyed, drained, and yet so desperate to continue drawing my Good Omens fan art. At least I still have that.
I am working on something new when I'm not sleeping, cooking, working, or spending time with family and friends. Which is usually during movie time or at night(when I can't sleep). Here's a messy preview:
Tumblr media
It's still a work in progress but I'm confident to say that Aziraphale is getting easier to draw. I have to thank a lot of fanartist out there who have helped me along the way by presenting their work and indirectly supporting me.
Also, the colored image:
Tumblr media
Done by @okaylokii , out of this collection of images:
Tumblr media
Really inspired me to continue with my original dancing idea. Thank you for letting me lean on you. I did get permission to use it though I mostly use it as inspiration, not to copy. But I do want to make a tribute to @okaylokii for this piece.
Tumblr media
I'll figure it out.....
See ya in two hours.
Good night, Angels and Demons!

the funny thing about the good omens fandom on tumblr is that I have seen so much content of that show. gif sets, fan art, media analyses, pretty much everything except the show itself. and I still don't know a single thing about the plot. i have no fucking idea what actually happens in the show. i thought for so long that it was just a romance story of an angel and a demon falling in love through the ages. and good omens fans would probably say in jest that that is exactly what the show is. but genuinely i don't know a single plot point from the show like hold on ill try to think of one....... yeah no nothing. only things i came up with was the whole "learning free will" thing but ive gotten the idea that its not like a plot thing, but more of a theme maybe. and then there's aziphrales book shop. its a bookshop right? and I thought that the shop burning down was a plot point, but i think im thinking of Desperado. so yeah I got nothing. but i do know that its a beautiful story about self-discovery.

Shipper Tag Game
Tagged by the wonderful @4typercent 💖💖💖
What ship were you completely obsessed with as a teenager, but now you don't care about anymore?
Sasuke x Naruto lol. I absolutely LOVED this ship, wrote fic about, got into shipping wars, I was the absolutely worst kind of teenage obsessed with them ahahaha. I even met one of my longterm best friends though a Yahoo Groups ship forum for them aosidjaiod.
Now? I could care less lmaooooo. But I still hold fondness for the ship regardless.
Which ship would you consider your first one?
My first ship was definitely Mamoru x Usagi in Sailor Moon! I still love them to this day 💖
Your first fanfic was about which couple?
Yami x Yugi was the first ship I wrote for. I think. It may have also been Lena x Cloud from Zoids New Century, I am UNCLEAR on the details and my ff.net account is lost to time lmao.
The first one I ready was something Sailor Moon related I believe.
Do you remember the first couple you saw fan art of?
Usagi x Mamoru from Sailor Moon, definitely.
Have you ever gotten into ship discourse?
SO. DAMN. MUCH. AOSiasjdasidaiodasoidasdjiasdjs. I've almost never gone looking for it, it just found me. The last bout I ended up in I actually ended up actually went okay though! Way better of an experience than any other ship discourse I've gotten into by far.
Did you use to have any NOTP or have one currently?
I have plenty of NOTPs, none in my current fandom though! I just...there are some ships whose fandoms have ruined the ship for me, so I try very hard to avoid and/or block. Liberally.
Who were the last couple in the last fanfic you read?
Dreamling! My beloved pet ship that I've written over 100k words (200k+ across all my Sandman ships) for and counting! 💖
Currently, do you have any OTPs?
I mean...not really? I've always been a multi-shipper at heart, you are going to be hard pressed to find me a ship where that particular combination is the only one I'll accept. I love the idea of an OTP, I just don't have one lmao.
Is there any couple that, to this day, that you are extremely mad about not getting into?
Not really, no. There's some fandoms I WISH I could get into, but either I didn't like the source material (sorry good omens fans, I tried twice D:) or I didn't really like the quality of fic in the fandom just due to characterization differences. But nothing I'm like upset I didn't get into before lol.
Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they're kind of interesting?
Hmmmmm, can't think of one no.
Do you have any ship that, in the past, would have been considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?
Oh lord, yeah probably. Cannot think of any off the top of my head, but there were some weird ships back in the day.
What is your favourite crack ship?
Ooooooo! Great question. I'm currently trying to think of the most outlandish thing and all I can think of now is that Tony the Tiger x The Grinch fanfic! 🤣
What is the couple you read the most fanfics about?
Probably Dreamling right now! That's mostly due to sheer volume compared to other Sandman ships though.
What do most of your ships have in common?
Feral 4 Feral, and/or Soft Idiots in Love. Sometimes both!
What do you absolutely hate in a ship?
In a ship dynamic? When miscommunication is treated as something romantic, instead of something that needs to be worked on. Also when crossing clearly set boundaries is considered romantic.
In a ship fandom? There's too much to list, but I think the big one is when a ship fandom considers their ship "better" than the other ships in the fandom. Even the canon ship lmao. It just takes away the fun of shipping!

I love your work! It's so delicate and detailed. How did you start doing this kind of... mixed media embroidery? I'm not even sure quite what to call it, this mix of sequins and other materials as well as drawn images.
Thank you! I went to school for oil painting, but I hated my program - it was very restrictive and all it did was frustrate me. My sincere art fell flat and my troll art was lauded and it felt like was a colossal waste of time and all the money in the world. So I quit and started working as a production assistant in film wardrobe departments. From there I pursued fashion, and that lead to me eventually running a couture bridal label for 12 years. I quit *that* because bridal industry stuff is hard, yo. I literally got some of my best friends out if it - one of my ride or die bffs came to me as a client and ended up being a bridesmaid in my own wedding. So it was fulfilling for a long while, but pressure stopped being fun and started just being exhausting.
What I enjoyed most was the embellishment. I got injured in 2019 and couldn’t walk at all for a month, and needed a cane for six months. So I just sat in one spot and started embellishing frames with beads and sequins and embroidery. Not for garments or gowns, just for fun while I recovered. And then good omens dropped, and people were making incredible fanart, and I really wanted to make fanart, too, but my stuff was all super abstract. It took me a while to figure out how to make things more figurative, so it could qualify as recognizable fanart. I started collabing with other artists like Dory Whynot and Grin, incorporating their incredible illustration and embellishing on top of it, but it still wasn’t enough for me - I love love love and am so honoured that other artists enjoy working with me and collabs are one of my fave things in life, but I didn’t want it to be a reliance thing - I wanted to be able to make the kind of stuff I wanted on my own, not have to collab. I have been chipping away at my own illustration skills - I was trained very rigidly and classically in school, as a mentioned, so my style is still not something I really enjoy for fanart, but I’m making progress. And here we are. I use beads and sequins to make fanart, which has really pushed the definition of sequins as a whole, pretty much because I wanted to make Crowley art. I use a lot of the pattern-drafting techniques I developed during my couture bridal career to shape sequin sheeting into bugs and plants now, pursuing my love of science and entomology etc for non-fan art. I am much, much happier now making this kind of art, but just like everyone else - I have no idea what to call it. Since everything is stitched with thread, I call it embroidery, but eh. I know it doesn’t really fit.
Tl:dr - I wanted to make Crowley art and no one knows what to call the the things I make now 😂

Fandom asks meme
1, 11, 14!
1: list 3 positive things about your current fandom(s)
First, I'm in more obscure fandoms, so there's not much drama. People are more open to different things because they're just happy to see more stuff for the fandom
Second, most everyone I meet is someone that has been in the fandom for a while. People who really do connect with it and care about it (as opposed to people that just stop by while it's popular for a bit, but leave once the hype dies down)
Third, the fan content that exists for my fandoms is amazing. From detailed AUs to just further explaining something from canon to that joke thing someone claims they 'just HAD' to do, it's incredible and I love it.
11: if you're a writer or artist, what fic or piece of art are you proud of making?
Definitely all my stories in The ScholMander Files. There's really only two people that actually care about this series, but I've had so much fun talking with those two people about ideas for my own fics and theirs, and I've really enjoyed writing these. I've probably written more fics for this pairing than any other single author, and I've got more coming. Which leads to....
14: the ship that always makes you smile
There's a few for this, and a lot of it has to do with RPs here. It's a tie for me between:
☆ ScholMander (Milo Thatch/Commander Rourke from Atlantis: the Lost Empire) - This is probably the unicorn of the fandom in terms of how rare it is. But having written so much for it and even RPed it, this is now canon to me. These two are just so sweet to each other I'm surprised I don't have cavities yet. And it all started because I saw some photoedit fanart that had an image of Rourke with an arm around Milo and I couldn't stop thinking about that image. Now, they are canon to me.
☆ Clu x Tron/Rinzler (from.....uh.....Tron) - This is largely due to RP threads I've done on here. I honestly hadn't thought of this until I started RPing it with people here, but now I love it. Especially Clu and Tron as sort-of-parents for Beck. Ugh, the sweetness!
☆ Halman (Hal 9000/Dave Bowman from 2001: A Space Odyssey and its sequel movie/books) - This is probably the one canon ship I'm into, and yes it is very obviously canon, especially in the sequel movie 2010: The Year We Make Contact when they have the following exchange:
Hal 9000: What is going to happen? Dave Bowman: Something wonderful. Hal 9000: I'm afraid. Dave Bowman: Don't be. We'll be together. Hal 9000: Where will we be? Dave Bowman: Where I am now.
I mean, it's even more obvious than Spirk (which I also love) and that's saying something. Just the way these two care for each other is just so wholesome and sweet. It's the one ship I don't see much smut stuff for, and honestly, it doesn't need smut, it works so well. They are just so good to each other. Dave does not want to kill Hal, he does it because he has no choice and (my interpretation) he figured out at that point that something was wrong, that Hal was 'sick' and Dave didn't want to see this person he cares so much about suffering anymore. But when Hal is brought back in the sequel, Dave takes extra time during his short visit to check on Hal and make sure he's okay and ultimately saves him from a second death, after which they literally spend eternity together.
Honorable Mentions - Spirk (Spock/Kirk from Star Trek), Jack O'Neil/Sam Carter (Stargate SG1), Claire Finn/Isaac (The Orville), Ineffable Husbands (Aziraphale/Crowley from Good Omens, please don't comment about Season 2 as I haven't gotten to watch it yet), Yugi Mutou/Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh), Yugi Mutou x Yami/Atem (Yu-Gi-Oh, Yami and Atem are the same person to me, just at different points in time.)

Today in The Continuing Adventures of People Saying Fucking Unhinged Shit To Neil Gaiman:
In a post already fetid with fan fiction brain rot, the sentence "Just quick reminder, in case you've forgotten: TV shows are supposed to save us from hurtful reality" is peak "art shouldn't challenge people because they're incapable of surviving it." In case you've forgotten, all I want is pablum, daddy. Only give me my baby pablum so I can smear it on my face and feel good wallowing in my watery gruel. The counter-argument to the idea of 'escapist' fiction is that 'escapist fiction' got us into this mess. We've spent the last half century burrowing into a murk of safe, bland, un-challenging comfort entertainment and while the world got worse and worse on our watch we burrowed deeper, which is how you get a group of people angry at the writer's strike because they use television shows for their 'mental health' and, thus, labour standing up for itself is well actually abelist neurotypical oppression of the neurodivergent. There's plenty of way to critique negative storytelling, discomforting plot twists, or needless narrative tragedy—the decade+ since Game of Thrones has made us endure a glut of edgy bloodsoaked snore-fests—but 'comfort fic is the only valid expression of television as a medium' is fucking unhinged.
...
.. For Christ's sake, I don't even like Good Omens...

before i stumbled upon your blog just now, i had seen zero (0) imagery of succession.
i did not care about succession. i thought it seemed like not my type of show, boring even (i apologize, my mistake).
i still have no idea what it's about.
i know not anything about your scrimblos more than the first 5 mins of looking at your blog has told me.
but you've intrigued me. I still won't probably see this show (no offense - i haven't even watched through good omens and i Loved that show and follow fanfics of it)
but damn it if i won't follow this blog.
keep up the good fight. milk your men. you keep a high supply of fresh juicy content; and i am a patron of the arts.
Tumblr media
You have NO idea how absolutely delightful this ask was to get. We here at Tommy Milk Inc ALWAYS welcome additional patrons, regardless of existing knowledge of succession, affection for Tom, or position on the undefined but definitely very real Succession Political Compass. And I am personally deeply flattered by your enjoyment of my fresh juicy content, which I work so hard (with the help of my compatriots) to keep flowing from the tits of a certain Thomas Wambsgans day and night.
In fact, your ask has inspired me to attempt a bit of a Tommy milk renaissance (or milkaissance, if you will), so if milkposting is a topic which interests you, I'll be reblogging some key posts in the history of this phenomenon in short order.
All that said, while I don't think you need any prior knowledge of succession to appreciate the magical milk flowing from his substantial tits, I thought it might be helpful, for the sake of better enjoying the content, to get a Crash Course in the various Scrimblos of Succession:
Tumblr media
Logan Roy - literally the worst. Rolling with lgbt but also deeply homophobic, but also might be falling in love with his son-in-law (source: asked for his help peeing). Obsessed with milk and piss. Got a UTI and almost destroyed his own company over it. Once made several of his execs wrestle each other for sausages on a corporate retreat. Will hopefully die in season 4
Tumblr media
Kendall Roy - defender of women. Wants to be Oedipus but is bad at it. Used to do coke off his kids iPads but is now interested in becoming a meth-head (character growth!). Clinically depressed, probably. Technically killed a guy once. Wants to be Jesus sooo bad he almost strapped himself to a cross at his birthday party while performing Billy Joel's "Honesty". Definitely invested in crypto off-screen
Tumblr media
Roman Roy - meow meow supreme. Big proponent of sexual harassment. "Scared of pussy" but does like ejaculating onto windows. Thinks "fascism is cool, but also, not really". Tried to send a picture of his dick to the company's general legal counsel and sent it to his father instead. Major daddy's boy but does not know how much milk costs (sad!). Only person on this entire show who's ever been to management training
Tumblr media
Shiv Fucking Roy - 1/2 of the show's resident failmarriage. Used to work for Bernie Sanders (succession edition). Asked for an open marriage on her wedding night. Tries to be a #girlboss but is ultimately more of cringefail loser (affectionate). Called her husband manipulative because he tried to talk about his feelings. Representation for women who are their father's daughters (derogatory). Was almost suspiciously excited about the prospect of having sex with another woman in a threesome before Tom had to go and ruin it. Will likely murder him in season 4 (for unrelated reasons)
Tumblr media
Connor Roy - running for president and polling VERY close to 1%. Sugar daddy, patron of the arts, and big Napoleon fan. Man of the people (the people who work on his ranch). Occupations: "safeguarding" thousands of acres of New Mexico wilderness, and being on the verge of setting up a podcast about Napoleonic history with significant investment interest. A lack of real-world experience has sometimes been levelled at him. Owns Napoleon's penis. Everyone else keeps forgetting he exists
Tumblr media
Tom Wambsgans - babygirl!!!! Other half of the resident failmarriage. Lactates (they haven't addressed this in canon but that doesn't mean it isn't true). Has a Nero kink. Spends a lot of time saying suspiciously sexual things about his father-in-law. Sent his wife's cousin Greg 67 emails with the subject line "You can't make a Tomlette without breaking some Greggs" on the first night of his honeymoon. White collar criminal but bad at it. Once started secretly tracking his wife's menstrual cycle so he could pretend to be horny when she was ovulating in the hopes this would convince her to have a baby. Official boar on the floor loser (Karl stole his sausage). Pushed Shiv down the stairs and castrated and married Cousin Greg in the season 3 finale. Has a dick the size of a red sequoia and fucks like a bullet train
Tumblr media
Cousin Greg - slick little fuck (affectionate). Tom's executive assistant and corporate sugar baby. Also a white collar criminal but even worse at it. Suing Greenpeace for his inheritance. Has a gay homewrecking dad. Absolutely should go to HR about Tom but won't. Not here for a long time, but also not really having a good time. Generally doesn't know what's going on. Probably entering his villain era in Season 4 (what is he going to do with a soul anyways??). Once asked Tom to prove that he has a dick the size of a red sequoia and fucks like a bullet train

For posterity, my annual New Years meme:
1. Your main fandom of the year: Baldur’s Gate 3! It’s funny, the last two years in a row I listed it as something I was interested in getting into but I wanted to wait until it left early access. And I am so glad I waited! I had no idea how much I was going to enjoy this game so it was a nice little surprise, plus I’m glad I got to experience the story in its entirety rather than waiting for content to be slowly added to the beta version. This game was a master example of my favorite type of game to play- namely, an RPG that allows you to develop a custom character’s appearance, attitude, and relationships with other well defined and interesting characters. This is something that, up until now, I’ve only ever gotten from BioWare, and recent developments from that studio have been disappointing, to say the least. I’m really glad to see there are other studios out there who can create this kind of experience, and craft it with such obvious love and care. I fell in love with all the characters and their stories! I also had a lot of fun watching the actors who brought them to life stream the game and experience how all their work came together. A truly well deserved Game of the Year.
2. Your favorite film this year: This is the year of DnD I guess because my favorite movie was Honor Among Thieves! Another very fun romp in the Forgotten Realms, this fantasy heist movie was a joy to watch. The unconventional family relationship beteen Edgin, Holga, and Kira was especially sweet and I nearly cried at the end when they had to choose how to use the resurrection spell. I also really enjoyed the Hunger Games prequel ; I thought the music and the sets were especially well done. I really enjoyed the art in Across the Spiderverse but I didn’t like that they ended it on a cliffhanger, especially when it could take quite a while for the next film to come out. Not a fan of splitting one story into two movies; I didn’t like it when the original Hunger Games trilogy did that either.
3. Your favorite book this year: The fact that I initially couldn’t remember what I read this year and had to go look it up in my Libby account probably says something about the state of my reading this year, hah. I remember checking out and starting several books from the library that did not grab my interest, and which I then returned without finishing. Unfortunate. Of the books I did finish, I enjoyed Martha Wells’ Witch King and Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Witch King had a really interesting mythology and setting, and I’d be interested in reading more stories in that setting. Project Hail Mary is another of Weir’s stories that grounds itself in a modicum of science but makes it fun, and had several twists that kept me turning the pages. I also listened to Martha Wells’ latest Murderbot novel; however I was sick and slightly delirious at the time so it didn’t really stick with me in the way that I would like, lol. Hope to get a physical copy to read soon so I can properly appreciate it.
4. Your favorite album or song this year: Machine Learning by J. Maya.
5. Your favorite TV show this year: Probably the Last of Us! I think they did a really good job at adapting a video game story to television, and at bringing new elements to a story I already loved. Pedro Pascal probably wouldn’t have been my first idea for someone to play Joel, but he absolutely killed it, as did Bella. Could have used a few more zombies, though. ;) Also really enjoyed season 2 of Good Omens! It was a delightful romp until suddenly it wasn’t.  I was a bit peeved at the end because I didn’t know this story wasn’t going to be self contained either, and therefore relied on Amazon renewing the show for it to be completed. Bleh. But! Now that we know it has been renewed and we will absolutely see the finale on screen, I can be more forgiving of that absolutely gut wrenching ending. Oh! Also enjoyed Silo, an adaptation of the Wool trilogy of books I really enjoyed. The sets in this show were fantastic and looked exactly like I had imagined the silo to look while I was reading; I’m very excited to see how they deal with later developments in the story. And shoutout to Resident Alien, which I watched for the first time this year. Alan Tudyk is absolutely delightful and believably alien.
6. Your favorite tumblr moment this year: just the fact that we continue to exist as every other social media website sinks to previously unfathomable lows I guess.
7. Your best new fandom discovery of the year: I mean I guess it’s Baldur’s Gate 3? Something new I started doing this year that ties into that is watching other people play video games, which. Is kind of a weird way to spend your time but I’m still having fun. I’ve watched each of the cast members of BG3 stream their own playthroughs of the game and I’ve enjoyed that. I’ve also been watching Friends at the Table stream games, which they’ve been doing more often this year. It’s kind of nice to just have a bunch of friendly voices on in the background and to see how they problem solve together.
8. Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year: I guess I can talk about my disappointment with BioWare here. They haven’t released any new information on a game that has been in development for uh. A decade? They’ve also, according to reports, treated their staff absolutely horrendously and laid off a bunch of key developers in a game series I used to love. I know they are quite literally not the same studio that made the games I love because those people are gone and because they’ve been bought out by a larger, solely profit-driven company. Still sucks tho.  Friendship ended with BioWare now Larian is my Best Friend etc. etc.
9. Your favorite male character of the year: …It’s going to be Astarion, isn’t it. I didn’t even like him when I first started playing BG3, because I like to make kind choices and he constantly disapproves of that lol. And then I got to the end of his questline and just had this like. “Oh.” moment.  And then in my next playthrough I abandoned my original plans in order to romance him instead and I have been captivated ever since.
10. Your favorite female character of the year: Shadowheart! My first romance in BG3 and another companion with an absolute banger of a questline.
11. Your biggest squee moment of the year: Getting the epilogue for BG3 to finally play! It was a bit dicey with mods but I managed it, and it was so sweet to feel like I was meeting back up with these characters again after being away.
12. Your most missed old fandom: I haven’t talked about Doctor Who yet! So this year had the three specials with David Tennant and Catherine Tate back, and the nostalgia was just. Overwhelming. The chemistry between these two is impeccable, and I knew it was just going to be those three episodes but wow. I could have watched another full season of their hijinks together. Also just missed good old RTD and the little touches that defined his era. The specials were a real treat. Looking forward to the new adventures with Ruby and 15 but the tone did feel somewhat different, the sort of fantasy element that they are bringing in is new and fresh which is good but will take some getting used to on my part. Still very glad to have RTD back at the helm!
13. Your fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to: Once I finish this current playthrough of BG3, I’m going to try another one of Larian’s games, Divinity Original Sin 2. It looks kind of similar in terms of gameplay, if a bit dated, but I’m curious about what else Larian has done and this seemed like a good fit. I also did plan on playing Starfield at some point, but… reading reviews and watching some Let’s Plays makes it pretty clear the game is not what I expected. Might wait for an even bigger sale before I drop money on it. Which is funny, because I upgraded my computer this summer in order to play it… and then BG3 came along and reset my expectations, lol.
14. Your biggest anticipation of the New Year: New Doctor Who! Definitive edition of BG3! (DLC perhaps???) And I guess DA4 if it doesn’t crash and burn… I am skeptical…

Introduction: Hello!
I downloaded tumblr specifically for Octonauts content. Yep. I’m in highschool, definitely old enough to not be in the Octonauts main audience. I watched the show as a small child and have came back with an intense hyperfixation. Facts about me:
My name is Xena, they/them and I’m AroAce. Gifted kid burnout currently, miniatures collector and obsessive organizer. My favorite song is Little Dark Age by MGMT. Some favorite TV shows and such are Octonauts, both Venom movies, Moon Knight, Merlin, Agents of Shield, Community, Umbrella Academy, Good Omens, The Good Place, Psych, and What We Do In The Shadows. I am also a Ryguyrocky fan, another instance where it was nostalgic and I got back into it very deeply, undergoing the task of rewatching every single video. I really like sautéed spinach and potatoes, now the important stuff: Octonauts facts :)
I am an Honorary Octonaut from a meet and greet with Kwazii and Barnacles (I’ve got a certificate and everything he signed it himself) :>
Favorite Great Barrier Reef song: Trouble on the Reef
Favorite Gup/Gup theme song: Gup X I’m trying to get it as my ringtone
Favorite Octonaut and Octo-Agent: Shellington and Pearl
Least favorite character: I can’t stand Pinto, honestly I prefer Hugo and that’s saying something. I want a follow up episode to show Hugo character redemption.
The first episode I ever saw was the Narwhals. I had a old leap pad with the Flying Fish, Whale Shark, and Monster Map episodes downloaded so I practically know those episodes word for word.
I have all the books except for the Growing Goldfish, my favorite is the Frown Fish. I really want a little spinoff or special episodes where they go on the book adventures. I know they involve not real animals and are whimsical but it would be adorable.
I own a majority of the figurines and Gups. Gonna make some custom figures too with my duplicates.
I can’t pick a favorite episode, but Operation Cooperation is rather fruity so there’s that. I love all the movies equally they are all amazing and honestly better than most older audience movies. I do love the character development in The Caves of Sac Actun though.
I have a TikTok account, xjumbled_up_brainx : that is for edits and videos :D
I’d like to get some ideas out of my jumbled up brain and this seems like a good place. I suck at art but I have so many ideas it annoys me quite a lot, but I do enjoy writing. I love headcannons and theories, so that might be the majority I post. Well wishes to you!
