The light creaking of your bedroom door is what wakes you from the light slumber you found yourself in. The lamp next to your bed casts your bedroom in a hazy yellow glow, and you rub your cheek against your pillow with a contented sigh. It still smells like Shouta.
Speaking of your boyfriend, he glances at you from where he stands in front of your dresser.
“…didn’t mean to wake you up, baby.”
His voice is deeper and more grainy than usual, telling you how tired he is from his patrol tonight.
“Wasn’t asleep. Waited for you.”
He hums in response, and you can tell by his tone that he doesn’t believe you. He turns around to look at the grumpy glare he knows you’re sending him- and he’s right. You’ve brought your blanket up to your nose and only the top of your head is visible, sleep crusted eyes narrowed his way.
Shouta can’t hold the huff of laughter that builds in his chest. He feels his heart beat harder, and he marvels at how you still make him feel like he did the first time he met you, even all this time later.
He’s lifting his arms to put on a sleep shirt when you see it. There, on his ribs is a smudge of black covered in something that looks like plastic. You’re wide awake now, and you quickly jump out of bed to head towards him, shivering slightly at the chill of the room.
At your sudden movements, Shouta lowers his arms and looks at you quickly, scanning your body to make sure you’re ok. You tug the shirt out of his grasp and pull his left arm back up straight in the air. The look he gives you is one that you’re quite used to: bemused and endeared.
“Oh, I was going to show you that in the morning.”
Shouta had talked to you about how he was going to eventually get a tattoo, though he wouldn’t let slip what he was getting or where. Looking at it now, you know exactly what it is, because it’s a drawing that you look at every day whenever you go to your fridge. Only, you noticed this morning that it had gone missing.
Three messy stick people are outlined on Shouta’s ribs holding hands, two significantly bigger than the one in the middle. The one on the left is tall, and has a shock of black, long hair falling over his face. The middle is a little girl, with long hair and a horn growing out of her forehead. And the person on the right is you. It’s a picture Eri drew for you just a year after being taken from Overhaul and into protection.
Shouta is observing you quietly, obediently keeping his arm in the air as you lightly run your fingers over the shiny plastic wrap covering it. It’s only when you start sniffling that he moves, pulling you into his arms.
“Knew you’d react like this.” He says, amusement lightening his voice.
He’s still warm from the shower, and the hair that covers his chest tickles your cheek as you press your forehead against his collarbone. Your tears hit his skin whenever he runs his large hand over your head, his own cheek pressed against your crown. His stubble is prickly and uncomfortable against you, making you sniff loudly and say meekly, “You need to shave.”
“I will.” Is his only reply. He rubs his cheek against your hair, the same way you did to your pillow only moments before. You lean back slightly in his arms and look up at him tearfully. His eye is so dark, yet it gleams beautifully as it stares back at you. He’s taken his eye patch off, showing you the large scare that runs across his other eye. A callused thumb swipes under your own eyes softly.
“I love you.” He says before you can speak, which only makes you tear up again.
Shouta huffs again, a small grin forming on his face as he mumbles “silly baby” at you. He decides to forgo the shirt, and pulls you back to the sleep rumpled bed. You snuggle under the covers, still sniffling, and wait for him to finish taking off his prosthetic before sliding in next to you.
Immediately, you sling your leg over his and press as close as possible to him as you can. Shouta wraps his arms around you with ease, barely moving whenever you decide he isn’t close enough and move half your body on top of his. Under his chin, where his jaw meets his neck, he smells like his body wash and home.

AFO is Hisashi Midoriya
This is my contribution to the Dad-For-One theory, otherwise known as AFO is Hisashi Midoriya.
There are already plenty of indications and other theories out there to this particular idea, but I have never seen this specific one so I might as well share.
Disclaimer: this might have some manga spoilers, so be warmed!
First and foremost, what do we know about Hisashi Midoriya?
He is married to Inko Midoriya.
He works overseas.
He has a fire breathing quirk.
He is never seen in the backstory, neither the manga or anime.
Just from that we can already make some conclusions. I think some of them have already been floating around so I will make this short.
He could have taken her name in marriage. It would make sense if it was her family name, since Midori means green and Inko does have green hair.
An evil overlord most certainly makes enough money to send home. The cover of working overseas also means he doesn't need to be home and keep up the façade.
I believe it has been mentioned in manga and in the anime that emitter, more specifically fire quirks are the most common ones. So basically, nobody would call it either weak or strong if you are not Endeavour or Dabi. It would also be fairly easy to acquire a quirk like that for someone like AFO
We have no idea what Hisashi Midoriya looks like. Which is uncommon for parents in MHA. We have seen plenty of parents from different students, villains and even teachers in the vigilante spin off. One would think that the father of the main character is kind of important, or if he isn't (as we are led to believe) we would get at least a face. The fact that it is taking so long is certainly suspicious.
Now let's look at what we know about AFO.
He lost a big fight against All Might when Izuku was just a small child, before he received his diagnosis that he was Quirkless.
He is inherently possessive, narcissistic and egoistical.
He does not care for others only for the best way to gain power.
He has only one known weakness to his quirk. Said weakness is, he has to touch someone to steal their quirk.
Let's keep that in mind while we take a look at other facts. What do we know about the Midoriya family?
Izuku Midoriyawas born Quirkless.
He was diagnosed by the same doctor who later made the Nomus.
They are not rich, nor do they have any connections.
Inko Midoriya has a minor attraction quirk.
At first glance this might not mean a lot but in the frame of this theory both of these things shine in a different light.
AFO was born at the dawn of quirks. A time where it wasn't uncommon for someone to be born without a quirk. It wouldn't be far-fetched for him to have a Quirkless child.
If Izuku was indeed his son, it would make sense for him to monitor his development even after the fight against All Might. He must already be working together with the doctor because it was, he who healed AFO from his severe injuries.
What would AFO gain from marrying someone with a weak quirk and without any notable connection?
If AfO had a child with Inko Midoriya there is a possibility that this child could have a quirk which allowed them to pull quirks to them. This would solve AFO one weakness. In return all he would have to do is fly under the radar and pretend to be a good, if absent husband.
Alright this was a lot of speculation. So, let's take a look at Canon again to see if my main claim would make sense for the story.
The main example would be the Todoroki family. Endeavour demonstrates quirk marriage isn't a thing of the past. Which means we have a canon case of this happening.
The most glaring problem in this theory might be that AFO does not really look like Izuku. Then again Izuku does look a lot like his mother except for his hair texture and the freckles. At this point we have seen a younger AFO and still there are no glaring similarities. This might be because AFO wears his hair rather short in all his life stages compared to Izuku. We have also seen AFO mother who had no similarities to Izuku either.
For the time being AFO is kind of dead so he won't be the one confirming this theory. Izuku has seen him before and not mentioned anything. The only one left to say anything is Inko Midoriya.
Horikoshi did mention that there would be a Hizashi Midoriya reveal at some point. So, all we can do is wait and speculate.
Thanks for reading my random thoughts!

Okay so I have a question but it’s quite complicated so bare with me here. Let’s say in the faaaaar future there’s a quirkless person (less likely) and one thing led to another Deku gives said person OFA (strongly unlikely), how do you think the 10th user would utilize OFA? Would they use it similar to Deku or do you think they could use it in a new unique way?
With any kind of theoretical new user, it's always going to come down to their views and personalities. In spite of being such a simple power, there are plenty of ways to apply "One For All". Just look at how different Izuku and All Might are as fighters despite the fact they have the exact same power, with one being an outrageous brawler and the other being a quick, more tactical fighter. Just look at the ideas I had for uses of "One For All". Someone could choose to lean more on their marital abilities to improve their application or be more liberal with their usage of shock waves for more ranged combat. There is also the case if "One For All" mutates again, which is a whole other can of worms. I can't exactly imagine it changing any further than it is now, but that option is always on the table. Perhaps they could learn how to share their power with others or gain a better connection with the previous users. The only thing I can say for certain is that whoever has the new Quirks is going to need to handle it like a nuclear bomb. Seriously, if Izuku use of the power unchecked shattered his limbs and eventually left him with permanent damage, I can't imagine what it would do to a user who has to deal with even more power.

Concept 7: How to Train your Dragon Academia
This idea came into my head recently and I had to share it. So this is kind of a MHA HTTYD crossover with Fairy Tail elements. It takes place in a place similar to Earthland like Fairy Tail, the inhabitants are able to use magic (similar to the characters Quirks), and Dragons are a thing where they are, where as Dragons are more rumors and legends in Earthland.
Dragons in this continent are a lot more hardy and resistant than the ones in HTTYD, so they're able to tank a lot more damage since magic is a thing in this concept.
There could be different "factions/races", such as those that are able to manipulate and control the elements are obviously called Elementals. Those that have animal-like appearances or features are considered Beasten's. People that are able to enhance themselves are called Dauntless or Excels. The people who can learn to unlock or find the magic spark are called Ignium's. People that have more mental abilities are (obviously) Psychics.
Those that don't have the ability to use magic, are simply humans (but if you want to call them something else, that's fine).
For an example for each; Pony, Tsu, Eijiro, and Jurota would be considered Beasten's. Shoto, Kinoko, Ibara, and Kosei, are Elementals. Mezo, Itsuka, Kyoka, and Rikido are Dauntless. Inko, Tsukauchi, and Ochaco are Psychics. Himiko, Tenya, and Izuku are Ignium's. [And the last one is obvious, just some background characters.]
The commonality between them though, is that they're all some sort of Mage (except for that last category).
OR, you don't have to use the quirk replacement, and simply have magic and races similar to that in DnD or Fairy Tail.
The story would be similar to httyd but with some obvious changes. Izuku could be the son of a king, but no one knows that [i.e. All Might's son], who lives with his mother. Despite being outcasted due to his interests, his bad mumbling habits, and his false classification as a human, he stays positive, even making some inventions to help with dragon raids, which (surprise, surprise) go wrong. It's often up to this world's version of All Might to either save him or to stop destruction from escalating. It's not until he begins bonding with Toothless that Izuku realizes he's actually an Ignium, not a human.
In this version of the httyd story, Izuku actually does have friends. Real friends. Though they keep it secret due to rising tension between the factions. And who would these friends be? Well, the first friend he meets is actually Shoto, another prince from a rival family. They met when they were young and continued to meet secretly. Izuku next meets Ibara, another Elemental, when he goes out on an errand for his mom to the village's Smithy. He then meets Pony and Jurota, two Beasten's, while out looking for herbs for his mom.
Or; Ochaco, Pony, Tenya, Shouto, and Tsuyu.
I believe with these friends, Izuku would have a unique friendship dynamic with them and have the support he desperately needed in Canon.
Anyway, late at night in the early morning, there was a dragon raid, as you can guess, Izuku goes out from where his assigned job is, being an inventor/blacksmith, and goes out and shoots down a Night Fury. Some brand of chaos ensues, Izuku's dad saves him, he gets scolded in front of the other villagers, and Izuku is escorted home.
Izuku goes out to find the dragon, he finds it, he can't/wouldn't kill it, and you know where this goes. The difference is, is that Izuku does eventually tell his friends what happened and they surprisingly (to him anyway) keep the secret and help him help the Night Fury.
He'd finally be able to see them in public when Dragon Training starts, led by (guess who?) some of this world's versions of the UA teachers, more specifically Shota Aizawa.
You could make it a further crossover when the httyd plot ends, you could have the trainees travel to Earthland and meet the Fairy Tail guild.
I have assigned dragons to the characters that I believe fit them best [just Izu and his first group of friends then the friends he meets in DragonTraining then the Baku Squad, as they, despite being friends with Izu's childhood tormentor, do come around to being Izu's friends too]:
Izuku - Night Fury
Shoto - Hushboggle(I can't tell you how difficult it was to choose one for him)
Tenya - Armorwing
Ochaco - Light Fury
Tsuyu - Tide Glider
Minoru - Snifflehunch
Mezou - Windwalker
Katsuki - Hideous Zippleback or Monstrous Nightmare
Eijiro - Crimson Gorecutter
Mina - Changewing
Hanta - Deathsong
Denki - Shockjaw
Kyoka - Shrillshrieker (fan dragon who looks like a more flight based Tideglider)
Ibara - Prickleboggle
Jurota - Buffalord
Pony - Deadly Nadder
Note: Be aware some of these ideas are a bit old.

The lov is a found family and tbh I wanted dabi to have a similar yet different conflict with this 2nd family. Somebody died due to the goals and actions of another member. And I had hoped toga would be the natsuo of the bunch bc she had been the closest to twice. Kind of like how natsuo was the closest to touya and most affected by his death. It’s definitely not the same bc abuse was not involved but twice is 100% dead and what led to his death should matter to toga. But hori is plainly cooking something to make dabi toga’s newest ‘big brother’ and I feel like it may have to do with the blood that dabi got for her. I can’t think of what could occur during sad girl parade that would make toga be willing to forgive touya once she finds out the full details about dabi, hawks, and twice.
Yeah, that certainly would have been a more interesting angle then then the one we got.
To be honest I've found how Hori has chosen to handle Twice's death really stupid. It makes sense that Toga would be sad and angry--that's not a problem. But I don't think it was smart to put Toga questioning if Heroes don't see them as people and that's why Hawks killed Twice, especially over the backdrop of Machia rampaging over a city full of people. Nor was it a good idea to have her act like she always does when she confronted Ochako, or be so roundabout when asking her questions.
If this was framed as Toga being wrong/selfish, because clearly she's killed a whole bunch of people, yet it's only now occurred to her that those that get killed leave behind grieving loved ones and is only concerned about her own loss, then that could be interesting. So far though, it's not really been treated like that. Instead Ochako is framed as failing because she didn't understand Toga's cryptic and nonsensical questions, which made her big sad.
And as you pointed out Touya was somewhat responsible for Twice's death. He knew Hawks wasn't trustworthy, but let him go around and do as he pleased, including warming up to Twice. He did this because he was both over confident that he could deal with Hawks, and because despite knowing he had special training by the HPSC, bet on Hawks not using lethal force, even when backed into a corner. He never warned anyone in the LoV, let alone the Meta Liberation Army, which is why they got ambushed that day and lost so many members due to mass arrests and one death. You'd think the group would be pissed about that if they found out.
Plus, Touya did use Twice's death to further his own goals. Sure, some members of the LoV might not care that he exploited Twice's death for his own gain because they could view as a way to help take down Hawks a peg. But it's weird that no one would find it disrespectful that he edited in a very sensitive clip of Twice's last moments into a nation wide broadcast. Nor does anyone really seem to ask him much about what happened.
The way Hori writes the LoV is rather lazy in my opinion. I know a lot of fans think they're written the best, but from what I've read in metas, most of their characterization is based on speculation (and sometimes straight up HC's) rather then concrete scenes. Like most of bnha, it's held together by mostly tell don't show (and sometimes show conflicting actions to statements) writing. People consider them a found family but only some members show genuine care for the others, and besides Toga and Twice, I can't think of any of then that go out of their way to help another member even if it's of no benefit to them or in a way that doesn't a line with what they personally believe/want.
Shiagaraki says he won't destroy what his friends care about but we never actually see him live up to that statement. He's never been asked not to destroy something, and stopped because he wants the LoV to be happy. The groups also never shows any anger when his plans to firmly contradict their own wants. Why is Toga okay with Shigaraki constantly trying to kill Izuku? Does she literally only want his body for necrophlia reasons? He also almost killed Endeavor, who Touya wants to kill himself. Compress wants to help the poor somehow, but Shigaraki doesn't seem to even know about it. They're this found family that just doesn't seem to even talk about their goals what-so-ever. It's kind of flimsy.
Which I suppose is why Hori didn't bother to have Toga be mad at Touya. What would be the point? Touya was always the most distant and that's saying a lot given these people don't seem to talk to each other much at all. It's not like he'd care if she hated him--he wasn't really invested in the LoV anyway (at least in that found family way). It wouldn't add much conflict to the story, unless Hori was going to have Toga potentially switch sides sooner, or go off on her own to get revenge. But that adds in another person to the Todfam plot which is already pretty full of people.
And Hori's wants to finish this manga as fast as possible, so he's not going to add anymore subplots then he needs to. It's a shame but it's a sprint to the finish at this point and so having Touya be nice to Toga and her not be mad at him is easier. I don't really buy the brother/sister thing he seems to want to frame it as, since again it's the only time he's interacted with her in a positive way, but I guess that's all he has time for.

I find so interesting the Shigaraki and Toga dinamic(thanks to your recent post), I noticed that they were talking so similar in this final arc, but it's seem like it's was way before that they started with the similarities
Tumblr media
tbh....!! I think Tomura and Himiko are easily some of the most interesting foils we've seen in the series!
Like, there's a tendency for the fandom to pigeonhole them into a "big brother/little sister" dynamic-- and while I def get where people are coming from, I also feel this tendency also causes people to gloss over how their characters/narratives play off each other? Which is a shame, bc there's an absolute smorgasbord of good stuff here.
The way Himiko is introduced as being driven primarily by love while Tomura is introduced as being driven primarily by hate is something that had me sold from the get go! "Wanting a world full of only things you love" vs "Wanting a world where you can destroy everything you hate" are goals that actually stem from the same root feeling for the both of these characters.
Their respective fixations on Ochako (the ultimate normal girl) and Izuku (the ultimate normal (comparatively speaking) boy) merits its own post, but again, the root feelings are the same-- a desire to be accepted and understood by someone on "the other side."
(tw for self-harm/suicide ment. under the read more)
Tumblr media
Both of them are depicted as self harming to cope with stress before they ever consider harming other people, and this only escalates as their abuse worsens. Both of their "villain origins" are triggered by gradual build up of stress/misery over time, followed by a sudden and traumatic loss of control where they are depicted as crying the entire time-- but people zero in on the "creepy smiles" instead of their tears and use this as evidence that "they were always twisted/bad."
suicide tw: like, it's absolutely intentional that Hori depicts Himiko biting her wrists and then dreaming about her belly getting ripped open--The stomach in particular is heavily associated with suicide in Japanese society. Now, I don't believe Himiko actually wants to die-- rather, I feel Hori is using this as symbolism for her growing desires to "disappear" into the identities of other people. "Death of the self" is a consistent theme for Tenko, Himiko, and Touya.
There's still a degree of mystery on the source of Tomura's "itch," but I think we can at least agree that AFO's explanation is bullshit and that Tomura only buys into it out of self-hatred.
Something that's also frequently overlooked is that the text specifies that the boy Himiko attacked was "very well liked and popular with the other kids," which I feel adds an additional layer of context to what ultimately led to Himiko's breaking point. A lot of what drives Himiko is a desire to have close bonds and friendships with her peers/other girls, which she feels that she cannot obtain "as herself" due to a lifetime of rejection from her parents and classmates. We see a scene of her envying the smile of another girl and expressing a desire "to become her" in the same chapter where we have flashbacks of her parents and peers calling her own smile "creepy/demonic".
Tumblr media
Cycling back to the whole "masks are a heavy theme in MVA" point from my other post: The LOV members (minus Dabi lmao) are all depicted as removing their masks in some capacity during this arc, but Tomura and Himiko stand out as being the only ones who put their masks back on as they retreat back into their usual coping mechanisms/self-denial. Tomura's masking makes heavy use of imagery/symbolism and is easy to miss if you only focus on the destruction of his physical "mask" (Kotaro's hand), and Himiko's masking is shown via her attempt to lose herself more deeply in the idea of becoming Ochako.
Both Tomura and Himiko are ultimately depicted as attempting to escape from an identity that only brings them pain-- Tomura attempts to distance himself from the pain of being Shimura Tenko through putting on the mask of "Shigaraki Tomura," while Himiko attempts to escape from the pain of being herself by "becoming the people she loves/admires."
Hori plays with the idea of villain and hero identities actually being a form of escapism multiple times in MHA, and these two are big examples of that (Other big examples include Endeavor using his hero identity to escape from being Enji/a decent father, Izuku's attempts to escape from being "worthless Deku" by completely changing the meaning of this nickname through his acts of heroism, Hawks flinching away from his real name as if uttering it out loud is some form of curse, and let's not even get started with AFO's multitude of issues bc we'll be here all day).
On that note: Tomura gets treated as if his villain name is his given name, Himiko gets treated as if her family name is her villain name!
Tumblr media
Both of them have a moment of catharsis through the destruction of their abusive/failed homes-- but this destruction also serves as a double-edged sword that only reinforces the idea that they can never turn back in both of their minds. Granted, the destruction of Himiko's home is facilitated by Touya-- however, the similarities remain. Tomura still obsessively seeks to "destroy his home" even after it's long gone, because he is desperate to achieve that sense of catharsis and "relieve his itch" again.
Tumblr media
"If you refuse to submit.... I'll just rewrite the story" and then he did! :)
Also, their characters both have a sort of "meta" aspect to them that I really enjoy, where their personal narratives are both targeted by characters who want to rewrite/exploit their stories for their own gain (and this is further complicated by the fact that Tomura and Himiko are ALSO unreliable narrators on top of all that).
Like, even their pasts are initially told to us through the lens of other people and skewed perspectives-- Himiko through the lens of sensationalist news reports + her parents, Tomura through the lens of his adult self + AFO's grooming. Himiko's parents insist that they did everything they could and that she was just "born bad," which mirrors the conclusion that Tomura reaches about himself after he reflects on his own past and comes to believe that he must've wanted his family to die. As readers with the benefit of actually seeing these events unfold, we know this is total bullshit-- Himiko's parents were emotionally abusive, and Tomura was absolutely devastated by the deaths of his family.
(And this is probably wishful thinking on my part, but I actually hope that the presence of the journalists at Gunga is also going to play a role in saving Himiko by the end of the series-- since her being catapulted into villainy was only facilitated by irresponsible + sensationalized journalism in the wake of her breakdown, and Curious was basically the ultimate manifestation of that. Journalist redemption arc? Maybe???)
Anyway, Hori's definitely put a lot of effort into writing these two, and the resolution to their stories is def what I'm most excited about!

HEADCANONS REQUEST: ❝super saiyan S/O.❞
Tumblr media
[ Fandom: Boku no Hero Academia ] [ Characters: Midoriya Izuku, Bakugou Katsuki, Todoroki Shouto ]
「Headcanons of Midoriya, Bakugou and Todoroki with S/O who has a quirk similar to a Super Saiyan from Dragon Ball Z.」
MIDORIYA IZUKU
♤ Midoriya is always interested in quirks, he will never pass up a chance to discover new quirks and their abilities. He was surprised to learn that it wasn’t actually a quirk and that you were just born like this. Superhuman strength, durability, speed, and reflexes. Seeing all that in person was just unreal, Midoriya is already in love. After all, this guy is weak for strong women like yourself. He’s dying to know more about your abilities ties and superhuman traits. But you know how it is for him, he’s very nervous around girls.
♤ Already has his notebook open when you decide to tell him about how your power actually works. This boy will listen to every single word you tell him, making sure he never missed any details. For the things he missed, he would ask you to repeat it. You'd go on and on about how you became a Super Saiyan, the science behind S-Cells, and different forms of a Saiyan. He'd ask you a lot of questions as if he were a student and you were a teacher giving a lecture.
♤ You are what Midoriya aspires to be in the future. You were strong, skilled, and able to hold your ground when facing villains. He admires you greatly and it shows through how he always seems to stare at you while you're training. This results in him not being aware of the things around him, sometimes he'd end up getting injured. His admiration and respect for you slowly turned into affection. It was his friends who pushed him into confessing.
♤ When you both started dating, this boy is still in the “Oh my god, I can’t believe someone as amazing as you is dating me.” stage for 2 whole weeks. He finds it very unbelievable that you accepted his confession. Midoriya puts a lot of effort into your relationship. This guy has a lot of dates planned in mind but he’s too nervous to ask you out. He will try to bring it up casually, making sure you were free during the weekend. Dates with him are always fun, he’s easily amazed by a lot of things and you can’t help but think that its kind of cute.
♤ Training sessions with him are just different. Midoriya was no longer the shy, timid, and easily flustered boyfriend anymore. He’s brash and reckless. This guy goes all out with you, because he knows how strong you were and that it will take a lot for him to defeat you. He gets a bit frustrated when he gets close to beating you in training, its kind of cute. Due to the similar nature of your quirks, you're always giving him a piece of advice that helped him countless times.
BAKUGOU KATSUKI
☆ You got this boy whipped from the getgo. Bakugou couldn't take his eyes off of you for even a second. The way you fought and moved during training struck a chord inside him. At first, he was shocked and began to think how unfair the world was, blessing you with such a great ability. After learning that you were basically just inhuman, he wasn't a happy man. He declares you as his rival in front of everyone, and from that day onwards, he's constantly asking you to spar with him.
☆ Despite all that, Bakugou is really weak for you. He admits that you're strong and the most likely to become a great hero to reach the high ranks in the future in Class 1-A. But he never tells anyone that of course, he'd kill himself if that slips out. As time passes, Bakugou couldn't control the growing affection he had for you. It didn't take long for him to realize his feelings thanks to his friends. It eventually led him to confess to you.
☆ Bakugou is very frustrated that you're much stronger than he is. He's very prideful and kind of had this imagination that he'd be the one protecting his S/O. But seeing how strong you were, it was evident that you're able to defend yourself without any help from him. But he's super proud of you and he doesn't bother hiding that fact. He's proud to be dating you but is very against PDA. Don't get me wrong, he loves giving you kisses and hugs but he prefers things like that to be more private.
☆ He loves training with you, its one of his favorite way to spend time with you. Bakugou had always wanted a sparring partner and someone who would join his workout. The two of you would train on hand-to-hand combat most of the time. Sometimes he would take you to the gym where you both will do the same sets together. The two of you will help one another with your reps, he particularly likes having you sit on his back while he does some pushups.
☆ You like to call it Super Saiyan and a form that transcends human and closer to becoming God. Something about being able to reach the most powerful form of a Saiyan. You explained to him about the different forms of a Saiyan as well as the science behind S-Cells required to take on the form of a Saiyan. It confused him from time to time and he eventually gives up. You just explained it in the simplest form and just told him that your hair stands up whenever you enter Super Saiyan mode.
TODOROKI SHOUTO
♡ Definitely not the type to get overwhelmed with how strong you were. It didn't change the fact that he finds your superhuman abilities to be quite interesting. He has never heard of someone not having a quirk and was just inhuman. Todoroki gets curious about your quirk which caused him to initiate a conversation with you. He's not the type who would challenge people and call them his rival or anything. But he's always expecting something amazing from you.
♡ Seeing you in action multiple times made him fall in love with you more and more. He just likes watching you in action, how you were always adapt in different situations. You always performed well during training and surprising him with things that he thought were impossible to do.
♡ Todoroki has no idea how this Super Saiyan thing of yours work at all. Believe me, he tried his best to understand how it works. But once you began going on about S-Cells, Super Saiyan forms, Ultra Instinct, and whatnot, he's already lost. As your S/O, he wants to know everything about you, especially your quirk — ability. You've assured him that it was not necessary but he makes it his goal to decipher your superhuman abilities. So if you feel someone staring at you while you train, don't worry, its just Todoroki.
♡ Todoroki doesn't train that often but if you happen to be the type who would train after classes, he would gladly accompany you. Sometimes he would sit there and watch you, occasionally clapping when you pulled off some cool move. Sometimes he would join you, whether it be sparring or normal workouts in the gym. Todoroki is a great gym partner because he always helps you stretch and keep up with whatever you do.
♡ It doesn't show in his face, but Todoroki is thrilled to be dating someone as amazing as you. He slowly learns about the nature behind your superhuman abilities, as well as the things you could do with it. He shows his affections in an awkward manner but his love for you is so obvious to everyone. He would stare at you unconsciously and buy things that reminded him of you out of instinct. He's not the PDA type and is more of the type who would spoil you with gifts and surprises.

Danger First
Chapter 3
@pocketramblr (also please let me know if you would like me to stop tagging you on these, I don't want to be annoying. :))
"WAIT!" shouted Nana abruptly, as Izuku was talking to his (weirdo) teacher. "I know who that is! Quick, get ready to turn everything off!"
"Turn what off?" asked En. "We live in a formless mental void. We don't even have electricity."
"The quirk! That's Eraserhead!"
"Oh, yeah," said Yoichi, while everyone else (sans Second and Third) scrambled to grab onto the quirk. "I remember Eight meeting him, now! So, he's a teacher, huh?"
"How do all of you forget the one person who might be capable of one-shotting All for One?" demanded Nana.
"Doesn't his quirk not work on mutations?"
"Stop daydreaming and get over here, Yoichi!"
The quirkspace began to glow faintly, ominously red, and the ghosts pulled hard on the quirk, holding it temporarily out of Izuku's reach.
Then, the red glow abated and they dropped it back into place.
"Well, that was exhausting," said Banjo. "So, we'll have to be constantly ready for that, huh?"
"As long as he's around, yeah," said Nana.
"Why did we just do that, anyway?" asked En.
"So we can continue to masquerade as a normal, non-haunted quirk?"
"We could have just let him think he didn't have a quirk, or that the anxiety-"
"Super anxiety."
"-isn't part of it."
Yoichi gasped, as if scandalized. "You'd want us to lie to Izuku?"
"Okay, seriously, what is up with you and Nine?" asked En.
Despite not having a body, Yoichi began to visibly sweat. "Nothing, nothing at all. I just... think he's neat?"
"If you're going to lie to us, can you not do it with archaeomemes?" asked Nana.
"No, no, actually, I can get behind this," said En. "Would you say Izuku has... vibes?"
Yoichi nodded solemnly.
.
"Young Midoriya!"
Izuku shrieked and jumped back from the sudden sound as All Might suddenly emerged from an otherwise innocuous bush.
Both of them froze, staring at each other.
"Are you..." said All Might, hesitantly, sounding much more like he did in his small form than usual, "alright?"
"I... think so?"
"That's good, then." All Might coughed slightly into his fist. "I was wondering if you had a few minutes."
"Of- of course!" said Izuku, immediately.
"Then allow me to lead the way!"
All Might led him through a door labeled 'staff only' and immediately deflated. "All the staff know about my condition," explained Mr. Yagi.
Izuku nodded. Then a thought occurred to him. "Mr. Yagi?"
"Yes, my boy?"
"Why, um, why don't you teach, um, as Mr. Yagi? Instead of as All Might? Wouldn't it save your time?"
Mr. Yagi stopped and scratched his head. "I hadn't really thought about it before," he admitted. "But part of the reason I took this job, other than wanting to help train the next generation of heroes, of course, is that I want to get people used to the idea that I am going to retire." He tugged on one of his bangs. "Also, ah, I'm not sure if my qualifications to teach are quite up to par without my reputation."
"I'm sure it would be fine! You're the best, after all!"
Mr. Yagi chuckled. "I'm glad you think so," he said. Then he reached behind him and opened a door. "In any case: my office."
"Wow," said Izuku, quietly, stepping in. "All Might's office..." Who knew when he'd get another opportunity like this again? He kept his eyes wide to drink in the details.
The rather sparse details. The office was rather bare. Which made sense, seeing as All Might was a brand-new teacher. It was sort of... disappointing, as thrilling as it was.
Mr. Yagi sat down behind the desk and gestured for Izuku to take one of the other chairs. It had a lot of cushioning. A lot a lot. Izuku sank down into the fluff as Mr. Yagi fiddled with a drawer on his desk. He got the drawer open, and pulled out a notebook. A notebook of the same brand Izuku liked to use, actually.
"Since your experiences with One for All are so different from mine, I thought it might be a good idea to do some research into past holders and take a leaf out of your notebook, as it were." He passed the notebook over to Izuku, who took it with shaking hands and a slightly open mouth.
"I'll treasure it," he declared, voice wobbling.
"Not so much that you don't use it, I hope," said Mr. Yagi. "As it is, it's only an overview. The earlier holders, especially, don't have many records associated with them. Consider it a starting point. I haven't had much time to work on it."
"I can't believe you found the time to write this at all," said Izuku, flipping through the pages. The information was sparse, but each holder had a basic profile, all the way back to the fourth. "I mean, between being a hero, training me, and preparing to be a teacher, I'm stunned nothing fell by the wayside!"
Mr. Yagi proceeded to turn a very interesting color.
"Uh, nothing fell by the wayside, right?"
"Why don't you take a few minutes to skim through. If anything jumps out at you right away, we can talk about it. And then I'll let you go get changed and go home, and we can discuss more later, after you've had more time with it."
"Okay!" said Izuku. He'd start with just the basic profiles. Name, date of birth, date of death, quirk... wait, those ages... "They all died young," he said, softly.
"Hero work is dangerous," said Mr. Yagi, hand going to his side.
"There's something else, isn't there?"
"Not something you need to worry about. I took care of it, years ago." The hand holding his side spasmed slightly.
"... Six years ago?" asked Izuku, aware he was pushing his luck. But this sounded both important and relevant.
There was a long pause. "Yes," said All Might, finally. "A villain with a longevity quirk. He... had a history with the first user."
Izuku got the feeling that was an understatement. It also seemed unlikely that the only application of the villain's quirk was longevity, given what he'd done to All Might. But the subject was clearly making All Might uncomfortable, so he dropped it in favor of burying his nose in the notebook again.
(Social fumbles aside, this was the most secure Izuku had felt for... a while.)
"The sixth user had a smoke quirk?"
"Yes, it seems so. Although it doesn't seem to have been actual smoke, but a biological compound."
"I wonder if that has anything to do with all the steam you release when you deflate. Actually..." he flipped back through the quirk. "I wonder if you're using Float, too, subconsciously, when you jump."
"What?"
"I- I mean," said Izuku, "I noticed, when, um, when I grabbed your ankle and also in videos of you- Your hang time is kind of messed up? You're in the air for longer than you should be, but it isn't, like, consistent? Plus, you can change direction mid-air, which I thought was because you were shooting out blasts of air pressure with your quirk, but with me on your ankle, you definitely didn't do that. There was- there was a forum I was on where some people thought your quirk tapped into magnetic fields, somehow, but that doesn't make any sense, because you'd expect a lot more electronic interference and that similar locations would produce similar results, given the Earth's magnetic field, but they don't. But subconscious, low-level use of a telekinesis-based flying quirk would explain everything. If we take into account what you said about my anxiety after the entrance exam, then that's minor expressions of three out of four of the quirks listed here, not counting the base stockpile and enhancement quirk. Do you think the unknown quirks of the second and third users might have partially manifested for you as well? Have you experienced anything else that's atypical for a strength enhancement quirk?"
Mr. Yagi stared at Izuku.
Oh, no, he'd gone too far.
"Nothing immediately comes to mind, my boy," he said, faintly. "But... magnets? Really?"
"I told you it didn't make any sense."
Mr. Yagi rubbed his chin. "There might be something, but... it's too unclear to say either way. I'll keep an eye out. It's just... a lot to take in. I thought One for All was done surprising me."
"When has it surprised you before?"
"Oh, under the influence of certain mental quirks, you can wind up hallucinating the previous users."
"Hallucinating?"
"Yes. But being under the influence of a mental quirk is always the larger issue, so..."
"Mr. Yagi," said Izuku. "That's really the kind of thing you should let people know about up front."
"I- is it?"
.
The ghosts all stared at Nana.
"Hey, don't blame this on me! None of us explained that kind of stuff before passing One for All on."
"In our defense," said En, half raising a hand, "we were usually dying when we passed it on."
"More importantly," said Hikage, "do you think Ninth is right about the quirks?"
"It would make sense," mused Yoichi. "Although then we'd have to wonder why Blackwhip didn't manifest similarly."
"Is it too much for me to get someone to use my quirk? My extremely awesome quirk, that has no downsides?"
"It is powered almost exclusively by rage."
"No downsides."
"You-"
"No. Downsides."
.
Aizawa passed him an envelope labeled 'quirk counseling' along with the standard schedule and orientation packet he was handing to everyone else. It didn't look like any of his class mates had noticed, though, for which Izuku was grateful. He didn't want to be known as a weirdo who didn't know what his own quirk was.
He heavily suspected he was tapping into Danger Sense, somehow, but he didn't know how, and the fourth user of One for All had lived so long ago there weren't any records of him. Not easily and publicly available. Everything Mr. Yagi had written in his notebook (that Izuku had probably stayed up way too late reading... and texting Mr. Yagi about it... and comparing it to his notes... and texting Mr. Yagi about that... and reviewing old All Might compilations and theory threads... and having Mr. Yagi threaten to call his mom if he didn't go to sleep...) about the fourth user had been retrieved from the journals Mr. Yagi's mentor had passed down, according to one of the source notes in the margin.
(Mr. Yagi had really neat, small handwriting, which Izuku wouldn't have ever expected from his large, dramatic signatures as All Might, and his notes were meticulous and carefully cited. If Izuku didn't know better, he would have thought it belonged to a secretary.)
But despite Izuku's suspicions, he didn't actually know. He didn't know it's range, what it defined as danger, whether or not it 'ranked' dangers, how to distinguish it from normal anxiety, or- Well. Anything, really. And he would really like to.
He opened the envelope quietly. Inside was a handwritten note instructing him to pick one of three schedules for quirk counseling and return it to Aizawa by the end of the day. The other pages were printed, with times and possible locations. Options for both before and after the school day.
Izuku felt his eyes tearing up. This was easily the nicest thing a teacher had ever done for him... Although he was nervous about being alone with Aizawa. Some of his other teachers, when they asked him to stay after class it was... not good.
Nothing bad happened, not like in movies or TV shows or the awareness videos the school had shown sometimes. The teachers didn't hurt him, really, didn't do anything to him, other than talk or yell, mostly, but it still wasn't good.
Maybe he could ask Mr. Yagi or Recovery Girl to sit in... But he already felt bad, taking up so much of their time.
He picked one of the after school schedules. He was already staying late on the other days to work with Mr. Yagi, and if something did go wrong, he wanted to have the night to recover before he had to face Aizawa again in class.
He put it to the side, so he'd remember to give it to Aizawa before he left, then looked over the class schedule. Homeroom, Math, Hero Art History, History, and English in the morning. At least this morning. The history classes alternated with something called Heroics-Applied Science and Hero Law and Ethics. Afternoons, meanwhile, were entirely occupied by Hero Basic Training.
And every class would be taught by a pro hero. He wondered if it would be rude to ask for their autographs...
.
Shouta grunted as Hizashi flopped down onto the couch next to him on the couch in the staff breakroom. "What a morning! I just love seeing all those bright little faces at the beginning of the year. Anyone have a favorite first year yet?"
Shouta kicked Hizashi through his sleeping bag. Sadly, this had no effect on the man.
"I think mine might be the little green guy. He's the only one who was actually paying attention, and you know how rare that is, when everyone is anticipating their first heroics lesson. The rest of us just pale in comparison."
Shouta attempted to kick Hizashi again, this time for an entirely different reason. Midoriya was already All Might's favorite (probably)- he did not need more pull with the staff.
"I know who my least favorite is," said Kan. "Kid's certainly dedicated and competitive, but I wouldn't be surprised if he threatened his middle school teachers into giving him those glowing reviews. His personality needs a lot of work. How did you get Nezu to saddle me with Bakugo, anyway, Eraser?"
"I had nothing to do with it."
"Don't give me that, I was going to have Monoma. At least he's a team player."
"You're being illogical," said Shouta, zipping his sleeping bag closed over his face.
"How about you, Nemuri?" asked Hizashi, cutting off Vlad King vs Eraserhead round five hundred.
"It's hard to choose! They're all so cute and eager! Full of the passion of youth! I think they're all my favorite."
"You always say that..."
The door opened and closed.
"All Might! What about you? Any favorites yet?"
Yagi coughed. "I've only had the one class of third years so far. Don't you think that's rather... premature?"
What an incredible nonanswer.
"How did that first class of yours go, anyway? They didn't sour you to the whole idea of teaching, did they?"
"Not at all! The students were wonderful. The third years are very advanced, aren't they? For some of them, I wouldn't be shocked to see that skill level on an active sidekick."
"What can I say? We start them off right," crowed Hizashi.
"They did seem a little surprised by the scenario, however."
"So was I, t'be honest," said Snipe, who was in charge of the third years.
"Ah, was it no good...?"
"It was fine. Lesson plan was a bit rough around the edges, but you and Nezu'll be goin' over that later. But... quirk traffickin' doesn't quite seem like your thing."
"Ah, well, set-pieces," he said, using the slightly derisive underground slang for large-scale spotlight hero battles, "may be what I'm known for, but before my injury, the majority of my battles and investigations weren't publicized."
"Shield laws?" asked Nemuri.
"Generally, yes, but some of the investigations were tied to others, so we were using the organized crime secrecy laws to keep those under wraps. Simply put, my popularity isn't the only reason I keep the number one spot despite Endeavor having more completed cases than me on paper."
Shouta had known there was more to All Might than 'punchy, over-the-top, eyestrain-causing, bombastic muscle guy,' but part of his stupid, illogical brain was annoyed at Yagi for pummeling that image into imaginary dust, anyway. It seemed like the man's only two flaws were horrible interpersonal skills when not using his public persona, and his vast suite of health issues, the latter of which all heroes who operated long enough picked up.
Oh, and a possible inclination towards bribery.
Made it hard to dislike him, which Shouta wanted to do, because he was loud, flashy, and gave him headaches, literal and metaphorical. He ignored the fact that Hizashi was the same way, and had forcibly become Shouta's best friend. Clearly, there was no connection here.
"By the way, why is young Aizawa completely zipped in like that?"
"Nap time," said Hizashi, solemnly.
.
"Sir?" said Iida, raising his hand.
"Yes, young man?" boomed All Might.
"There are nineteen of us. How are we handling the odd person out?"
"Excellent question! In other exercises, we may handle it differently, but for today, one of you will be working alone! Occasionally, a hero may find themselves isolated when they originally expected help. However, for better balance, I have also arranged it so the odd hero out will be taking part in the last battle, so you'll have more time to strategize!"
But the other team would also have more time to strategize, Izuku noted. He really hoped it wouldn't be him... not that he wanted to force it on any if his classmates! He just didn't want yet another handicap on the first day of training.
All Might walked around with the box of ballots, pausing for each student to take one. He reached Izuku and held the box out to him with a wink. Izuku smiled back, reached in, and grabbed one.
A chill ran up his back and he froze, fingers wrapped tightly around the little ball. Something told him this was definitely the cursed, single-person ballot. Could he let it go? Would it be considered cheating if he picked a new one?
But All Might was already walking away. Every part of his body tense, Izuku turned his hand over and forced his fingers apart.
J.
The tenth character of the Latin alphabet. For the tenth, last, team.
He watched as everyone else started to pair up, and All Might looked at him apologetically.
Izuku approximated a smile. Plus ultra, right?

Hello! I was wondering if you could write a angst oneshot about the whole Izuku leaving UA incident and how his s/o would take it seeing that letter right after the war ark, and maybe their reaction if he came back?
If you've done this already please just ignore this! (ˊ˘ˋ*)
where are you, deku?
Tumblr media
featuring: midoriya
recent manga chapter spoilers in this one! i have to admit that i haven’t been the biggest fan of the current arc thus far but this is one reason why i write. so i included some stuff that i feel were missed opportunities. also, if you read the manga, i’d love to hear any predictions you might have. enjoy! x
sitting in a hospital was never fun. it’s already bad if you’re there to be treated but sitting there, waiting for someone to wake up, not knowing that they will? you’d rather be admitted.
you didn’t know how he would recover from this. there’s no way his body could handle everything that he pushed through to stop the evil from winning. was there even a winner in this war? you’re not even sure how or why it started. there were so many things happening, so many twists and turns and surprises that everyone who survived physically wouldn’t have much luck mentally.
no matter how you spin it, there was no silver lining. and you were not the only one plagued by the lasting effect.
todoroki’s supposedly dead brother is alive and a mass murder, mirio has his powers again but doesn’t know that tamaki might be dead, midnight’s death was confirmed days ago and no one could just forget about it..
and it had been three days, but deku had not awoken from his unconscious state.
you were adamant about being the first one he saw when he woke up. he’d say that you’re stubborn but that was one thing you had in common. it was odd for him to stay unconscious for this long when he had always been the epitome of persistence.
the sound of all might entering the room jerked you awake from what was probably the tenth time you had dozed off.
“y/n,” he addressed. “you have done a great job keeping midoriya company but i think it’s time for you to get some rest. todoroki and bakugo have awoken, why don’t you go check on them with your other classmates?”
you didn’t even look over to him, not wanting to see the pitiful expression on his face.
“why isn’t he waking up, all might? he doesn’t even look like he’s in pain,” you observed, looking down at your unconscious partner.
“that must be a good thing, though, right?” the former hero replied.
“yes but,” you paused, unsure of how to say it. “it’s odd. he’s not in a coma-induced state, he just looks like he’s taking a nap.”
all might knew that midoriya and bakugo had kept the secret of ofa between them. now might be a good time to tell everyone, or at least everyone who should know, what was going to happen to him. midoriya was not unconscious nor asleep but was in a similar state, one that allowed him to talk to the previous holders of one for all.
until he finishes his conversation with them, an explanation would have to wait.
“you have observed well, y/n. i can assure you that he is not in any pain and will wake up eventually. he’ll want to tell you everything when he does. until then, please go tell the other students what you know for now.”
“what if he wakes up?” you questioned, continuing to face deku with your hands over one of his casted arms.
“i’ll have someone send for you but i’m sure you’ll be around when he finally wakes,” all might reassured.
you nodded, too tired to protest at this point. you stood from your seat before leaning down to press a parting kiss to his freckled cheek. his skin was warm which prompted a tear you didn’t know was there to fall down your cheek. he was alive but you wanted him to be okay.
you wiped the tear from your face and sniffled before turning around to finally face all might. he patted your shoulder as you walked by, quickly leaving the room. you decided that you would do as you were told and to go check on your other classmates. however, you didn’t get very far when you ran into bakugo who was storming down the hallway while resisting the restraint of sato and mineta.
“Y/N! WHERE IS HE?”
It almost made you smile to see that bakugo was still his belligerent self, despite being seriously injured. however, that doesn’t mean he should be walking around so soon. you stood in front of the door to deku’s room, prohibiting him from entering. once he finally reached you, he tried to push past you with his hands on your shoulders.
“you better move out of the way or start talking before i kill both you AND HIM,” he threatened when you wouldn’t move.
“he’s still unconscious,” you replied solemnly. “but all might’s certain that he will wake up.”
bakugo’s demeanor changed as he observed the melancholy expression on your face. he wasn’t an idiot but you were. it was the least he could do.
“well, i agree with him. of course he’s going to wake up, you idiot.”
you looked up at him, waiting for elaboration from his sudden confidence.
“tch. i thought you loved him or whatever. somehow your annoying ass decided to put up with his dumbass so you of all people would know that he wouldn’t just quit. and if he does, i’ll make sure he’s really dead.”
-
once almost everyone was discharged from the hospital, you were instructed to return to UA. you were told that you would receive updates and further instructions the next morning. however, sleep was far from what you would receive. despite the exhaustion, you were restless beyond belief which made you delirious and you couldn’t tell if the shuffling outside your room was real or not.
you woke up early, just when the sun was beginning to rise. you decided to get up as there was no point in trying to fall back asleep. you didn’t get even a step outside your room after stepping on a folded piece of paper that had been shoved under the door, waiting for you.
it was a letter from him.
it turns out that seemingly everyone got a letter from him. all of them varied in contents but they all conveyed the same message:
he had left the hero course.
they also explained his power and how it passed down from all might which is the reason why the league of villains and all for one were after him. yours, however, included a little extra message written at the end.
i love you, y/n. please don’t come looking for me.
he had probably blamed himself for all the strife he had caused with the war but you thought it was dumb for him to leave. how did he think he was going to do this on his own? there was obviously more to this story than he provided but given that he told everyone in the class, he had to keep it simple.
it was all making sense to you, shedding some light as to why all might was so sure of deku’s recovery. however, you didn’t get to see him when he woke up like you were told. he played it safe in writing these letters because he knew that you and others in the class would only try to stop him if he left. everyone was asking you about what you knew and you couldn’t tell them squat. you tried calling and texting him but he wouldn’t answer.
it was an odd feeling. you didn’t know whether you should be mad or not. if you couldn’t see your boyfriend yourself, you had to talk to all might. however, mr. aizawa was the only thing standing, or rather now sitting, in your way.
“by now, you all know that your classmate, midoriya, has left the hero course. this does not mean that the rest of you should follow in his footsteps.”
even though he didn’t tower over everyone anymore from his wheelchair, he was still equally as intimidating.
“now, UA has agreed to use its campus as an evacuation shelter. your families have already begun the moving process. classes will resume as normal but no one will be allowed to leave the campus under any circumstances. we’ve put a pause on all work study-related activities outside of the school until we know that there are no more possible threats, at least, for now. any questions can be directed to me.”
“will all might be returning?” you asked.
“all might will be taking leave from teaching for now,” answered mr. aizawa. “as i said, you can direct your questions to me.”
“right, sir, but i have questions for him about dek-- i mean, midoriya.”
“well, you’ll have to wait until he finds an opportunity to return then.”
“when will that be?”
“whenever he finds an opportunity, y/n. any other questions?”
it seemed like you were at a loss until you remembered something from when you were in the hospital with deku. bakugo’s behavior when you told him what all might said changed rather abruptly and you don’t think it’s because all might is his favorite pro hero. although they grew up together, deku and bakugo were anything but close. however, bakugo’s affirmation that he would recover felt odd and like he knew something that made him sure of it.
this led you to pursue him as your next lead.
you found him later in the kitchen making something for himself, as he usually cooked for himself than eating the food sent over by the school.
“what did you think about his letter?”
“what letter? i didn’t get anything from that damn nerd.”
that was surprising but that logic further pushed the idea that he knew something and therefore didn’t need a letter to explain it to him.
“so you don’t know anything about this?” you asked as you pulled out the folded-up paper that was left at your door that morning.
bakugo snatched the paper out of your hand and scanned over its contents quickly. his brows raised by the time he reached the end before he grimaced again.
“that idiot,” he muttered under his breath.
“so you didn’t know about it?”
“this is almost the same as what everyone else got,” he observed, ignoring your question.
“okay. but did you know about it?” you asked again.
“of course i did, you dumbass! so are you gonna ask me a billion questions now that his cowardly ass isn’t here to explain it to you like he should’ve?”
“so there is more to it.”
“he gave you the gist of it. that’s really all you need to know.”
“but what do shigaraki and all for one have to do with this?”
“can’t you read? the letter literally explained that.”
“like you said, it was really only the gist of it.”
“well, you were right in wanting to talk to all might but i guess you’ll have to wait.”
“no. if you know something, i need to hear about it. also, why do you get to know about all this?”
“because that moron originally told me about it back when we started school here. i didn’t take it seriously at the time until he started getting stronger. right after we moved to the dorms, he and all might told me everything,” he explained.
“i need you to tell me what happened then because he and all might aren’t here right now.”
“look, it’s really not my job to tell you! this really belongs between the two of them. dumb deku just promised that he would be strong enough to try to beat me.”
“at least tell me why he felt he had to leave when we could’ve helped him! i know he likes to act like a selfless idiot but i don’t know if he can do this by himself.”
bakugo sighed. “this is his fight and his fight alone. like icyhot said back at the sports festival, he has all might in his corner. that’s all the help he’s gonna need.”
you nodded in agreement.
“plus, that dumb power of his involves more than what you’ve seen of it,” he added cryptically.
“what does that mean?”
“did you even read the letter? it said that the power was passed down from all might to him, moron.”
“again, that doesn’t really mean much to me,” you pressed.
“tch. yeah. you probably only paid attention to that gross end part. that stupid nerd,” he muttered.
“what was that?”
“look, i’m done talking with you. either talk to all might or use your damn head.”
that wasn’t a complete waste of time but it certainly was a lost cause. despite his arrogance, everything bakugo said was true. he’s not someone who goes around lying about things so you felt that you could trust him when he said that deku would be in good hands with all might.
you left the kitchen somewhat satisfied but it still bothered you that you didn’t know everything completely. you wondered if there was anyone else who knew about it but the chances were slim, given that bakugo also stated that it was between deku and all might.
while heading back up to your room, you ran into todoroki. you hadn’t talked to him much since the war. out of anyone, he was probably going through it more than anyone.
“hey, todoroki. how are you holding up?” you asked, grinning softly.
his voice was still recovering but it was a lot better than a few days ago. “hello, y/n. my family’s okay for the most part and my father is finally doing what he should.”
you didn’t want to pry but you knew what he meant.
“did you get a letter?”
“from midoriya? yes. i’m not especially surprised since he and all might have been close since school began. however, i do find it odd that he suddenly has another power. did you notice it?”
you nodded. “it first happened during the training session with class B, right?”
“yes. were you ever curious about it?”
“he was probably more freaked out about it than anyone else so i didn’t focus too much on it,” you explained.
“i asked him about it and i agree, he did seem apprehensive about it.”
there was a beat of silence then which had you pondering over what bakugo had said.
“apparently there’s more to his power than we think and it has something to do with the passing from one user to another,” you reported.
“i’ve been thinking about that, as well,” todoroki replied. “it’s possible that midoriya’s power is evolving to beyond what all might could do with it. it would make sense, given quirk singularity.”
his theory seemed reliable since he would know about something like singularity.
“thank you for sharing that with me, todoroki. it think it’s quite possible that you’re right. i’m going to try to talk to all might if you want to confirm it,” you offered.
“thank you, y/n, but i believe the answer will be more clear later on. there’s something i have to focus on for myself right now. i hope you find out more soon.”
you thanked him, wished him well, and made the rest of the way to your room. now, you really couldn’t imagine what todoroki was going through. if anything, he had just as much weight on his shoulders as deku right now.
then again, you still needed answers as to exactly what he was doing.
later that night, bakugo sat on his bed looking down at a piece of paper. it had four simple words on it. words that both excited and annoyed him immensely.
i’m catching up, kacchan.
-
months passed and you hadn’t heard from deku. well, you had but not in the way you wanted. you finally got in touch with all might, who showed up to UA in person. apparently, mr. aizawa had passed down the message that you were wanting to talk but you don’t know how long ago that had been. you appreciated his effort but at this point, it was your boyfriend who you needed to see now. you didn’t want to displace your anger onto him but he could see that distress that you are in.
“i’m sorry that he couldn’t come himself,” all might apologized.
you sighed. “it’s alright. it seems like he has better things to do now.”
“he just needs to work on yielding one for all,” all might elaborated.
“is that what it’s called? one for all?”
“he didn’t tell you about it? i thought he wrote everyone in the class a letter?”
“he did but he didn’t go into too much detail which is why i wanted to talk to you,” you explained, your tone rather aloof.
“right. of course,” all might replied before clearing his throat to fill in the missing pieces.
it turns out that todoroki’s theory was on the track in that one for all had reached the singularity point and the quirks from its predecessors were beginning to manifest.
“the fact that he was completely quirkless before one for all makes the singularity point easier for him to transition to and use the other six quirks.”
that was news to you. “he was quirkless?”
“yes.”
it was all making sense now. everything that seemed off about him and his power was because he never had one in the first place. you also could now understand why bakugo was the most hostile with him when it came to training and deku’s improvement with his power. and this was why bakugo was dead set on deku coming out of this alive.
however, you couldn’t help but feel naive. you felt like you should’ve listened to your intuition more when things weren’t adding up and he was landing himself back in the hospital with broken arms time after time. but you ended up falling in love with him and it wasn’t because of his power. in the same vein, you weren’t about to hate him for it either, like bakugo or even todoroki at the beginning of the school year. he had worked hard to where he is now and the truth was that he had always been that way, quirk or not.
but how come he felt the need to hide it all, especially from you? bakugo had only recently been clued in about all of it so why not you as well?
“i made him not say anything to anyone, especially since i had started teaching at the school,” all might explained, continuing to be incredibly perceptive. “and bakugo was only roped in because he was catching on to it.”
“yeah. he told me that deku originally told him a while ago,” you recalled. “so what is he going to do about shigaraki and all for one?”
“we’re not entirely sure yet. right now he’s mostly acting as bait to try to lure out the league of villains while taking care of any stray villains from the prison breaks.”
“so what you’re saying is you don’t have a plan?” you questioned.
“we’re considering all of our options, y/n.”
“who?”
“deku, myself, endeavor, and hawks. best jeanist has also been helping with recon,” he elaborated.
of course, he’d have the top three heroes and all might on his side. not to mention all the vestiges talking to him in his head. what about the rest of the class though? surely he was going to need more than that. hero society is hanging by a thread that could snap at any moment if the villains strike again first.
“why didn’t you let me see him after he woke up?” you asked, changing the subject.
“we wanted him to stay at UA, as that’s where he’d be most protected. unfortunately, every decision has been his own,” he answered.
that was what you were afraid of.
since that conversation, the city had been partially recovered, villains were being captured, and there weren’t any threats as of yet from the league. UA fully reinstated work study programs and students were allowed out under heavy supervision.
todoroki kept coming back from his father’s agency with letters from deku to give to you. you read them, of course, but hadn’t replied to a single one. talking to all might was helpful, it really was, but you couldn’t help this nagging feeling inside you. his letters didn’t help much either. of course, you were happy to hear from him and it did give you that tingling feeling of love that you hadn’t felt in months.
the letters mostly detailed what he was doing and provided updates on his progress since you had talked to all might. however, if he was freely moving about the city, you didn’t understand why he couldn’t just come talk to you. all might had said that all the decisions made were his own and he was doing it in the best interest of you, the school, and his family. the thought of deku saying that he didn’t want to see anyone else get hurt made you shake your head. he’s very persistent and strong-willed but he too often doesn’t accept the help nor listen to the warnings of others, yourself included.
you missed him but you were also resentful towards him and you hated feeling that way. you wanted to be supportive rather than selfish but it was hard when he could be too self-sacrificing. it’s not that you didn’t have faith in him. you just wanted to prepare for the worst.
-
“hey, idiot.”
“what is it, bakugo?”
bakugo and todoroki approached you one day after they came back from their work study.
“we’re trying to tell you something important so don’t cop an attitude right now,” he glared.
you gave him an unamused look, unfazed by the irony. “so did you need something?”
todoroki spoke up next. “yes. my father would like to recruit you for work study. you don’t currently have one, right?”
“no. i don’t,” you replied honestly. “why does endeavor want me all of the sudden?”
“because midoriya—“
“shut up, you half and half moron!” bakugo interrupted. “look, we need help and thought you would want to be included.”
“okay. but why me?”
“you’re such a dumbass. just come with us!”
and now you were here at the endeavor agency in your hero costume with an uneasy feeling. maybe it was because you were standing right in front of the number one himself.
“hello, y/n.”
it was true that he didn’t have any other expression other than a scowl. lately, that scowl seemed worn down and honestly, you couldn’t blame him.
“bakugo and shoto have told me about you. of course, i first heard about you from deku.”
your ears perked up at his hero name. you hadn’t heard it in months.
“since he has left the hero course, we needed another student apprentice at the agency. the reason why we didn’t contact you sooner was that we were overconfident in thinking that we didn’t need another and for that, i personally apologize.”
endeavor bowing to you was a sight you thought you’d see only in your dreams.
“so what is this really about then?”
“the league of villains is on the move and he needs some help.”
you didn’t have time to even think of a response before the familiar mess of green hair came into view. that was really the only familiar thing about him against his dirty and tattered hero costume. not to mention all the upgrades that you had never seen before.
“hey, y/n,” he greeted with a soft grin.
you felt like your heart had stopped for a solid three seconds.
“deku…” you breathed out finally. you let the tears well up in your eyes. you didn’t want him to see you cry. you felt a rush of adrenaline pull you towards him and tackle him to the ground.
from the view, it looked like you were happy to see him. you were anything but thrilled.
“why— how— w- what are you doing here?” you questioned, leaning over him on the ground. you face felt hot with rage but you couldn’t stop it. the more you tried to suppress your emotions, the more intense they felt.
“well, i wanted to see you!” he answered, trying to lighten the mood.
“you wanted to SEE ME!? what about the previous eight months, huh? or when you woke up? you didn’t want to see me then either?”
“y/n, please i didn’t intend to abandon anyone. i only wanted to protect—“
“everyone, right?” you interrupted him. “what about the rest of us? we want to be heroes too! we’ve fought countless battles and went through a whole war with you! when are you going to get it through your dumb head that we want to help you?”
“heh. they sound like me now,” bakugo quietly commented as he and todoroki watched this whole scene.
“i wouldn’t get excited about that,” replied todoroki.
“i’m sorry if i’m being selfish but this isn’t fair, deku,” you cried, your tears dripping onto his face.
if he thought about it, deku had improved immensely in the last several months, most likely at a quicker rate than he had at UA. however, that was because there wasn’t as much restraint on the usage of his powers. he got to fight high-level villains without a lot of supervision. he was essentially a vigilante and the top three of the hero society were allowing him to do it.
“i’m sorry for leaving, y/n,” he began, sitting up as you leaned up off of him to wipe your tears.
“i wasn’t thinking about everyone’s feelings but i felt that it wasn’t anyone’s decision. you guys would have stopped me no matter what.”
you didn’t make eye contact with him until his next sentence.
“but that doesn’t mean i should be treated as a special case. you’re right, i shouldn’t waste all the energy and effort everyone has put into to stop something that i’m mostly responsible for. even though i’ve been figuring things out on my own lately,  i have no idea how i’m going to stop all for one or save shigaraki.”
you suddenly felt stupid as he looked down solemnly. you were stupid for overreacting. at the end of the day, this was his fight. no one else could do this but him. however, hearing that he needed help was what you needed to hear.
your boyfriend needed help.
“hey,” you called softly, placing a hand over his cheek. he looked up as you with glossy green eyes.
“you don’t have to do this all by yourself. you have so many friends and heroes wanting to help you. i know you don’t want to lose anyone but i think everyone involved knows the risks.”
you looked back to bakugo and todoroki for reassurance. todoroki nodded in agreement while bakugo simply, “tch. whatever.”
“you’ve got me, too. you’re never gonna lose me, deku. and i won’t let you lose either. i love you too much even if you can be really dumb sometimes.”
“i love you too, babe,” he reciprocated, his face getting closer to yours. “i did really miss you.”
“i know, baby.”
you completed the reconciliation with a sweet kiss, one that made bakugo roll his eyes.
“can you idiots stop wasting my time already?!”
“i agree,” endeavor spoke up. “we should start telling them what we know.”
“right! sorry, sir!” your boyfriend squeaked before scrambling to get you both off the floor. you stifled a laugh. he’s probably seen some stuff over the last few months but his cute, spastic self didn’t change much.
“let’s get y/n acclimated to the agency first and then we’ll go over everything, endeavor suggested.
“oh my gosh, y/n! i can’t wait to show you how huge this place is! c’mon,” deku exclaimed, grabbing your hand and pulling you around the office.
he didn’t want to let go once but if you wanted to because your hands were sweaty, he’d simply reach for it again. his thumb ran over the back of yours when you were just standing next to each other, giving it an occasional squeeze. even when it was his turn to talk, he didn’t release.
“okay so here’s what i’ve done recently and the information i’ve gathered from those encounters..”
you didn’t know what the end result would be and he was none the wiser. he knows how he wants it to end and now he has people he can count on for that.

quirk that leaves you nude ❧ bakugou katsuki, midoriya izuku, todoroki shoto
Tumblr media
navigation | music
➣ genre: fluff
➣ warnings: mentions of reader being left nude, the smallest smallest hint of suggestiveness in bakubro’s, two curse words
➣ request: Class 1a big 3 with a reader that quirk leaves them nude and the reader don’t really care about it
➣ a/n: this one took me a while to find out what quirk would leave the reader nude because i didn’t want it to simulate mirio’s quirk. i’m actually quite proud with how this turned out. i’ve also noticed how my bnha headcanons always end up being gender neutral lmao. anyways, enjoy!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- your quirk was shapeshifting. you could change into whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted. although, as with every quirk, there were drawbacks. unlike other students, the drawbacks of your quirk never hurt you.
- other quirk users couldn’t say they envied you, but they definitely didn’t say they didn’t wish for their drawbacks to not take tolls on their health and body
- your drawback, similarly to mirio’s, was the loss of your clothing
- whenever you shape shifted, your clothes would either become to big and fall off your body or your clothes would be shredded by the expansion of your size
- your ability didn’t change the anatomy of others, nor the size
- this drawback led to many accidents and flashing of fellow classmates and strangers
- mineta, being the openly perverted person he is, didn’t mind ogling your body whenever he had the chance
- but someone did
- if you and bakugou hadn’t started dating yet, he would mostly respect your pride and never glance at your bare body. even if you were training against each other, whenever you turned back, he already was holding your fallen clothes or giving you his jacket to you without sparing you a glance.
- definitely gets flustered by the idea of you standing nude beside him
- the boy respects you for your unbreaking spirit and strong will to not only help others but to be number one
- if you and bakugou were dating, he wouldn’t care if he was looking at your bare body
- he’s seen it multiple times, why would he shy away?
- he would simply once over your body, hum in approval, and hand you spare clothes
- if mineta even tries to peek
- yiKeS
- “i’m going to fUCKING KILL YOU, GRAPE BALLS”
- *bOoM*
- never wants anyone else to see your gorgeous body
- “you belong with me and only me”
Tumblr media
- your quirk is camouflage. you can blend in with anything. your quirk is almost like hagakure’s because of how you practically turn invisible.
- in order for your quirk to work at its fullest, your clothes must go
- you never have to manually strip because when you use your quirk, it creates an acid that comes out of your pores, burning away any material on your body
- if you overuse your quirk, it could result in acid dissolving your skin
- from training, you were able to lengthen how long you could control the quirk for, which was about 30 minutes
- since your quirk didn’t give you advantages in combat, you had to train your body to be strong and to be able to defend and attack others
- deku always admired you from the sidelines, watching your precise movements as you kicked and punch the practice targets
- his pencil would constantly be jotting down his observations and what techniques of yours he could use to improve himself
- “they angle their body at...” mumble mUmBle MuMblE
- when you actually use your quirk for the first time in training, he gets so hyped to write it down
- oH BOY, just wait for the shock to appear on his face
- his pencil in hand, fresh with lead, ready to write at lightning speed, eyes locked on your figure
- you disappear, enabling your quirk and attacking your opponent
- deku thinks you have an invisibility quirk like hagakure, except with different features. he noticed how your clothes turned invisible with you, looking like they were melted away
- as he was about to write down what he observed, you appeared once more but much MUCH more revealed than you were before
- drops everything, including his jaw
-  you walk off and grab spare clothes on the bench and act like nothing happened, like you weren’t just nude five seconds ago
- he’s so flustered and his emotions are going haywire
- he knows he shouldn’t be reacting so inappropriately but you were just to beautiful and talented and smart
- later on, baby scolds himself for ogling you and telling himself that he should go apologize
- forgive him *insert doe-eyed emoji*
- he goes up to you after practice and profusely apologizes
- and you’re just like “it’s aight,” shrugging it off as if he accidentally brushed his shoulder against yours
- this leads to the two of you starting a full on conversation, starting from deku fawning over how awesome you are
- over time, when you start dating, he gets used to seeing your bare body and always bring a spare outfit for you to wear
- very much dislikes others seeing something that should be reserved for him and him only
Tumblr media
- your quirk was elemental control, similar to todoroki’s. even your drawbacks were similar to the two-toned boy, except a smidgen worse
- you could control wind, earth, fire, and water
- overuse of fire would lead to the destruction of any product on your body and then your body itself. overuse of wind leads to incapability to control it’s strength and your clothing getting ripped off by the strong currents. overuse of earth would lead to your quirk extracting the organic materials in your clothing and using it as a weapon. overuse of water would lead to either you losing control and a heap of water crashing over you, ultimately ruining your outfit, or you freezing your clothes off
- having a lot of power meant many drawbacks
- at UA, you and todoroki often trained together because of how similar your quirks were
- before you trained, you could only use your quirks for 2-3 minutes consecutively and had to take 1 minute breaks before using your quirk again
- though, as you began to train alongside todoroki, you were able to use your quirk for a longer time and take shorter breaks in between
- obviously, since you trained with him, he was the first to see the awkward drawbacks of your quirk
- “oh yeah, that happens quite a lot”
- he blinks and doesn’t know how to respond because, as not inert as he is, your lightheartedness towards the situation shocks even him
- eventually, he gets used to it and doesn’t even care that you’re nude
- one day, he had a sudden thought that was totally random and didn’t make sense whatsoever but at that moment it did to him and so, he confronted you about it
- “since i’ve seen your bare body many times, wouldn’t it be fair if you saw mine?”
- sounds much weirder than he thought it would
- you CHOKE on your saliva and break out into a coughing fit
- “sho, are you okay?”
- you most definitely declined the offer, though it was very tempting
- only was that offer fulfilled once the two of you began dating and he saw your nude body tons more of times
- he asked you out at the weirdest time, though
- you’re literally butt naked, training beside him and he just drops whatever he’s doing and asks, “wanna go on a date this weekend?”
- flusters you beyond belief and suddenly you feel all too exposed
- “u-um sure?” you splutter, hiding your dignity body in your arms
- “cool”
- wHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED
- when you were friends, he was already protective of your bareness, but once you started dating, he would literally never take his eyes off of you when you are using your quirk so that he can be there to cover you up right away
- doesn’t matter who they are, if they catch even the slightest of glimpses of your skin, todoroki will fight them
- on many occasions did you have to hold him back
- he just loves you. let him love you uwu

MHA: Fling Theory
Tumblr media
While writing a much, much longer analysis and prediction post (which we will finish and post hopefully by Wednesday - fingers crossed, it’s already been delayed over a week because of work schedules and additions) and a portion discussing what @aoimikans and I know of the wider-known Dad for One Theory, I had to pause while discussing the topic of Nana Shimura’s husband.
At the time, I had been writing about the alternative ways All for One found Nana Shimura and her husband (whether he was a hero, a civilian, or perhaps the 6th User of OfA) and killed her husband. I mentioned there is an alternative theory floating around that All for One was actually her husband, but it is generally easy to debunk based on canon information, including recent information given to use via Gran Torino’s flashback:
In a recent chapter, when we see Gran Torino watch Nana as she gives up Kotaro, Nana says later in the flashback “if he learns of Kotaro” as if All for One was not aware of the boy, to begin with. That may imply that her husband was killed while she was pregnant and she escaped AfO’s attention long enough to raise Kotaro for a few years.
One would think that if AfO was her husband, he’d know about Kotaro early on, or at the very least know of the attempts to have a child. And if AfO already knew of their connection, he would try to use it against her and put both her and her child in danger. Not only that but when All for One finds Shimura’s family later on - and he would have to have found them to show interest in Tenko - he simply allows Kotaro and Hana to die. Kotaro, Nana’s son, and Hana, Kotaro’s daughter who resembles Nana in both name and appearance. If he had been her husband and found she’d managed to hide away a child, I can’t imagine he wouldn’t move to possess that entire family somehow.
Then… It occurred to me that there is another alternative option which I’m calling the Fling Theory.
All for One approached Nana Shimura under a different name and quirk (much like the theorized Dad for One = Hisashi Midoriya situation) and attempted to get close enough to her to create a relationship, trick her into giving him One for All (and maybe even a child at that point). All for One was unsuccessful stealing the quirk by force up until then. Perhaps he thought a different approach would work, and being a charismatic person and egotistical it sounds like something he’d do.
Maybe it got as far as a night of passion before Nana realized who All for One was and fled. That would certainly give one plausible explanation for why everything seems so personal when All for One discusses Nana Shimura. Moreover, if she discovered she was pregnant after? A marriage to a hero or civilian husband to cover for the existence of a child would be necessary to hide him. Again, in Gran Torino’s recent flashback, there is that focus on what Nana says: “if he learns of Kotaro...”
If Nana fled this false relationship, found out she was pregnant but decided to keep the child, and got married to another man in a very short amount of time, wouldn’t that give the prideful All for One reason to kill the otherwise unnamed, unidentified husband first? Revenge against the woman who did what his brother never could except through death, escape him and build another life. When Nana makes the heartbreaking decision to alter her family registry and send Kotaro into foster care, she is not just protecting herself and Kotaro at that moment, but she is ensuring she takes the secret of Kotaro’s father to the grave.
Tumblr media
Which makes it all the more terribly ironic given what we believe All for One did upon discovering Kotaro and the life he’d built for himself.
We believe All for One discovered Kotaro and his family and watched them for some time. Enough time to know their names, their home life, the kind of life Kotaro’s children were living - specifically Tenko Shimura. In 2016, aoimikans wrote a fanfic called “What Lies Have You Told?” based on her theory that All for One gave Tenko the Quirk: Decay. Then in chapter 235, we see a man dropping Tenko off wearing AfO’s signature suit with no tie (just before Decay manifests). This seemed like pretty strong evidence for that to be the case. A while back during our MHA discussions, we also added to that theory that in exchange, All for One took Tenko’s (“Ten” 天 = sky, “ko” 子 = child) unmanifested Quirk: Air Walk which we saw him use at Kamino and was the only Quirk written specifically in katakana. (Sky child, Air Walk → Sky Walk → Skywalker because Horikoshi loves his Star Wars references.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All for One never learned of Kotaro’s true origin. In giving Tenko Decay, he put into motion the events that led not only to Kotaro’s death but also the death of Tenko’s sister, Hana.
Each time All for One tries to own/possess family, he ends up destroying it.
And again, every time All for One speaks to and of Nana, it’s terribly personal.
In the All Might Rising OVA, AfO thanks Nana for the “amusing comedy.” Is that a bitter reminder that what they had was an act? That it was all a game to him? (At least, it was meant to be a game until she escaped him for a time.) Either way, his monologuing at Nana, the personal focus on her, may have cost him the chance to capture All Might while he was young and unprepared to fight him.
Tumblr media
During their first fight and at Kamino, each time All for One talks about Nana to All Might, he mocks her to anger him. All Might is Nana’s successor but more than that he is like her son. He is representative of everything All for One could not get from Nana, both One for All the quirk and the love and loyalty of family (be it a child or his brother’s remnant in OfA). Of course, he takes every opportunity to rub Nana’s death and what he views as her shortcomings in All Might’s face.
And how would All for One know of Nana’s ideals in order to mock them? How would he know of her signature push-up smile that he parrots at Kamino? The way he talks about her even as he mocks her seems to imply that he knows these ideals of hers, how she might talk about them, her vision of the future… Sure, she might have said things during their fight, but honestly, that sounds more like something you’d tell someone as you were getting closer to them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This theory naturally pairs well with the Dad for One Theory for a few reasons:
The resemblance pointed out between Nana Shimura and Inko Midoriya. (All for One has a type.)
The resemblance and similarities between young Tenko and young Izuku. (A family resemblance?)
The continued themes of family, lineage, and legacy that is shown throughout MHA but works specifically well when we think about how Shigaraki and Deku relate to either side of the All for One / One for All coin.
The continued use of name puns and Star Wars references that hint and foreshadow.
Side note: How does the 6th User of One for All fit in this theory?
We assume based on what canon tells us that All for One has been trying to take back his brother’s quirk, the last remnant of his brother and only family.
(All for One claimed to love his brother - though his view of love is clearly skewed toward simply possessing his brother - and he tried endlessly to manipulate his brother into showing his “love” in return with loyalty to him and his view of the world. In death and through the passing down of One for All, his brother had escaped him.)
Based on flashbacks, All for One’s attempts up until the 6th User seemed to include killing them off while they were relatively young. Maybe he was attempting to hunt them down, weaken them, and then torture them until they willingly gave him the quirk; however, he was never successful because each User of One for All was successful in passing it down to the next, playing a dangerous game of keep-away.
Tumblr media
From the 4th (top right, long hair) to the 5th (see his jacket shoulder), from the 5th (center, bald) to the 6th (far right hand?), from the 6th (bottom center, black hair) to the 7th (Nana’s gloved hand at the very bottom of the frame?).
Aoimikans and I were trying to figure out: Who was the 6th to Nana?
He looks younger than most of the other users we can see (not counting the younger, blurry version of Toshinori), too young to have been teaching or training Nana. And in the frame discussing how the quirk was passed down, we see that his right arm is missing, he is offering his hair to pass on One for All, and also…
Tumblr media
… he’s smiling.
There is something else Nana said that makes us wonder if maybe the 6th User was Nana’s first love:
Tumblr media
To be able to meet again at the end within One for All, she thinks it’s romantic. It may just be her personality, but the idea of reuniting with specifically the previous users is romantic to her.
Could it be then that the 6th was her first, young love? Could it be that they were both heroes and when he was hunted down by All for One, the 6th hastily gave her the quirk with a smile on his face - a smile she pressed onto her face, and a smile she passed down to Toshinori?
Could All for One have found out that she had that kind of relationship with the 6th and attempted to replicate the feelings that led the 6th to pass OfA to Nana?
Not only that, but there is that focus on the romantic with regards to specifically previous Users of One for All. Why don’t we see that kind of desire to reunite with the husband that was killed?
Well, if she were trying to find a husband quickly (not necessarily for love), one who wouldn’t mind that she was already pregnant or who would want to just as quickly have a child with her under the belief she wasn’t pregnant - how best would she go about finding such a man? Quirk marriage. It was likely more common in her time. She’s a hero, young, and with a flying-type quirk. She’d be a catch for any man wanting a marriage focused on mixing quirks. And wouldn’t that be just the kicker for All for One? In his view, she fled him only to run into the arms of a man who wanted her for her quirk? His ego can only take so much of a beating.
Possible timeline:
The 6th and Nana have a romantic connection
AfO hunts down and fatally injures the 6th
The 6th gives One for All to Nana with a smile
Nana escapes for a time
AfO discovers Nana and knows of her previous connection to the 6th
AfO uses his knowledge of their connection to try and manipulate her into a relationship based on falsehoods to trick her into giving him One for All
Nana discovers AfO’s identity and flees
Nana discovers she is pregnant with Kotaro
Nana quickly marries a man, possibly through Quirk Marriage, to explain away the pregnancy
AfO finds Nana again after years and rashly kills her husband before finding out more about her life
Nana is forced to quickly give up Kotaro to foster care and alter her family records to hide him from All for One, keeping All for One from using the knowledge of their connection against her (again)
Nana goes into hiding again, eventually finds and trains Toshinori and passes down One for All
All for One finds Nana again but she doesn’t run away. All for One mocks her (allowing her successor and friend to escape) and kills her in the fight but keeps her hand.
AfO later finds Kotaro and his family, gives Tenko Decay, unwittingly allows Tenko to destroy what family he had made, AfO takes in Tenko and gives him the name Tomura Shigaraki claiming that Shigaraki is his own surname - ironic to be giving his own grandson his surname thinking he’s simply taking from Nana Shimura the last remnant of her own family. Revenge for her giving away the last remnant of his brother to All Might.
Meantime, AfO took on the name Hisashi, met Inko (who looks like Nana but would be in his view meeker), and had Izuku.
Fun fact: Shigaraki is 20 in canon. Izuku is around 15. AfO would’ve likely taken in Tenko Shimura around the time Izuku was born. So, at that point in time, he thinks he’s won that battle. Started a family of his own with a Nana look-a-like, and stolen away Nana’s family. All he needs to do now is take back OfA and kill All Might. Then he’ll have everything he’s wanted.
Then, All Might smashes All for One’s Empire and head in, and he takes away All for One’s ability to be a part of the family he’d tried to create. Adding insult to injury, All Might takes Izuku under his wing 5 years later and gives him One for All. Stealing everything from All for One. (All but Shigaraki - the child pawn All for One raised to hurt All Might, not knowing his own grandson.)
And there you have it: Fling Theory!

So @musicfeedsmysoul12 made that post answering a fic title prompt, with the whole "izuku has a quirk that gives him a tail", they specifically mentioned a monkey tail. I love monkeys and I love Izuku so of course I tacked on and ended up assigning a monkey type, as well as aspects of the quirk, and how it changes/affects Izuku. Of course, I had to draw at least something for it. Doodles for Monkey Quirk! Izuku! Featuring a quickly put together design for his hero costume.

(Click for better quality)
The original concept technically belongs to @musicfeedsmysoul12 and the anon who sent the prompt, but I was the one who added everything on about the quirk so under the cut I added some details, world building, and timeline changes that I thought of while I was drawing.
Quick warning, I wrote a lot.
I mentioned the monkey type he'd be most like are Capuchins, but that's more just a base of what the quirk is like, and not exactly what it replicates. Kinda like Hawks and Miruko. Hawks is named after just that, a hawk, but his wings don't have any specific bird-like features or patterns aside from having feathers. He really strays far from that, actually, with how the feathers work. Same with Miruko, she's not based on a specific kind of bunny or hare. She just has the standard ears, legs, and senses of one.
His body type would definitely be slimmer than canon Izuku, as his body had to adapt to the fact that he's constantly twisting and bending to get where he wants. Canonically, Izuku's body is a little too... I don't want to say stocky, but it's certainly not lithe. Make no mistake, this does not mean he lacks muscle. He has a lot more muscle in middle school than canon Izuku did at the time, this comes from constantly having to carry and swing his own body weight.
His entire body is covered in a thin layer of fur, but it's absent in his heels, palms, and under fingers on both his hands and feet. Fur would get in the way of gripping.
I kind of debated on which parent he gets the quirk from, because a mutation quirk like that has very low chances of being one a person can get with parents with non-mutant quirks. I decided on Hisashi. First of all, the idea just wouldn't leave my brain, and it was too cute. I headcanon Hisashi with white hair, so he'd just be this big fluffy white monkey and I couldn't let that go. Second, I think it'd be an interesting way for class 1A or others to learn about Izuku's dad in America by trying to speculate where Izuku got his quirk from. Sure, their face shapes are similar, they're both kind and emotional people, and both have green hair, but Izuku how the hell did you inherit a monkey mutation quirk from a low-range attraction one??
Honestly, I don't think Izuku would really have as many problems with bullying in this AU. Yes, people have speculated that mutant quirks are not exactly welcome wholly with open arms i the MHAverse, but Izuku's quirk is pleasing to look at. He's cute, and the quirk is actually pretty dang helpful. While people would poke fun at him, calling him hairy, or treat him like an animal or pull at his tail, it's certainly not enough to warrant suicide baiting. He'd definitely be self conscious of his quirk and appearance though. Honestly, most of it would be led by Bakugou like always, so it's not that anyone really sees Izuku as bad or anything of the sort, they're just following Bakugou's lead.
I also don't think he'd have the nickname Deku. Mutant quirks (or at least mutant features of quirks) had to be something that a person was born with, because honestly I find it very hard to believe that someone's body can change so drastically like that. That's bone that's actively changing and molding, not just skin, hair, cartilage, and brains. That would cause some serious health concerns, even in a world with powers like quirks. So Izuku was never really "useless" to Bakugou. He was helpful, he could climb trees other kids couldn't to get stuck toys. He could hear things even teachers didn't know about even through loads of kids yelling. He wouldn't have any reason to be called useless, because he earned the knowledge that at that time, he was more capable than the other kids. Maybe something like Ape, Gorilla, or even going really derogatory and referring to him like he's a freak in a circus act. Juggles, Freak, Hairy, Caveman. Those sorts.
I imagine Izuku would practice martial arts here, much like Ojiro. His quirk would certainly help him. He's be stuck close-range, with his fists and feet (and tail) so he'd have to learn how to actually fight, as opposed to people like Todoroki, who can blast fire and ice from a safe distance away. That's why he wears the fingerless gloves on his hands and feet in his hero costume, to protect the skin and fur if he's fighting or gripping. Bonus brass knuckles attached to the gloves on his hands for when he wants to throw a punch.
I don't see any possible way he could get his dreams crushed by All Might, much less have such an important question that would require him to grab onto his leg when he jumps. So Izuku more than likely doesn't get One For All, at least not before UA, if he ever does. I also don't think Izuku would idolize All Might so much. Yeah, he'd still admire the guy, but he'd probably be more focused on people like Hawks, Gang Orca, and Miruko. They have mutant quirks like his, they're people he can actively look up to. So even if he did have his dreams crushed by All Might, it certainly wouldn't affect him as much as it did in canon (not that it did much anyway lol, Izuku went right back to jumping into fights to save people)
The original prompt said that Ojiro would be a partner for Izuku, but I see some missed opportunities for ships with Shoji, or Tokoyami. Hell, I could even see it working out with Sero, Kirishima, and Asui.
Shoji and Tokoyami probably faced some bullying for their appearances. Shoji literally hides his entire lower face. Izuku would definitely be able to connect with them. Sero, in the fandom, has been called a Spiderman bootleg more times than I've drank water in my entire life. He'd definitely try to swing around for faster mobility and who best to help him with that than Izuku? They would so easily bond over teaching each other swinging tactics. Kirishima... it's kind of hard to put that into words, it just really feels like it could work in this AU. He;d be like a stable perch for Izuku, is I guess part of my thought process. And for Asui, well, she didn't have many friends in middle school. People often saw her as disturbing because of her struggle to express emotions through her face. Izuku faced something similar. The two would understand one another.
Though I still really like Ojiro pairing here too. Izuku would probably help him feel noticed, and we all know how compassionate and caring the greenette is. He'd be great for Ojiro.
Izuku would probably go for being an underground hero here? I also see him easily making it to at least the top 20 when he graduates, his quirk is pleasing to the eye and he's already great hero material in every way. But I also think he'd be an expert at sneaking into places that would normally be locked from access to heroes, seeing as he can pull and hold himself in places he could hide better in. I guess he'd be a twilight hero. Not quite underground, but not quite limelight. Just treading the line between them, kind of like Sir Nighteye.
That's all I have so far, but I love this so much. I definitely want to expand more on it and I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up writing something for it.

Repetita Iuvant
The room was almost perfectly quiet. The barely audible buzzing of the medical equipment and the occasional squawk of a bird outside were the only noises Izuku had heard in probably hours. The chair creaked when he moved, his shoes squeaked on the white floor. He had already grown used to the pungent smell of disinfectant. No one had come to check on either of them in a while. There was nothing whatsoever to distract him from his thoughts and from the enormity of the consequence that his recklessness could have had- could still have.
How very obvious All For One's plan had been, in hindsight. Driving Izuku to drive himself to the brink of exhaustion and to detach himself from any semblance of support. Sending few lone agents first to inflict some physical chip damage and a much more substantial amount of psychological warfare. Leading him to walk, alone and unprepared and worn-out, straight into the real trap.
Even without Endeavor's fire propulsion or the perceptive wings of the hero who was always just a little too fast, All Might had been the first one to reach the fight. Izuku knew that his words weren't going to dissuade him from trying to follow his student, but he'd thought he could manage to outspeed him, to keep the danger just a little ahead of him at every turn. How arrogant and simple-minded.
All Might hadn't wasted a second. With what little combat gear he had at hand, he had immediately provided cover fire and diversion, dodging and hiding and inching his way towards Izuku as the horde of strategically placed snipers and brawlers kept him too busy to track his mentor's approach.  All Might, who, Todoroki had told him, even after losing every last ounce of his power, had once unhesitatingly thrown himself in harm's way to protect a wandering bystander from collateral damage. All Might, who had once again thrown himself in harm's way to protect his disgraceful successor from a potentially lethal blow.  Izuku had recognized the villain who had charged forwards. There were two whole pages about him on one of his old notebooks, probably number 7 or 8. A convict with a sunlight-fuelled power-enhancing quirk who had regained his freedom during one of the many breakouts following Tartarus' fall, a villain that All Might himself had brought to justice a few years back. Izuku had seen the cruel grin on the criminal's face when he had realized who his attack had landed on. Izuku had seen the sadistic glint in his eyes as he instantly stopped caring about the target of the operation in order to exact his revenge on his captor, and started pummelling the frail, stumbling figure savagely. Caught in the crossfire of the battle, it had taken Izuku ninety seconds to separate the rampaging brute from his victim. Ninety seconds was a tremendously long time in the raging frenzy of a battlefield. The sight of All Might's bloodied, battered, unconscious form was the last clear memory Izuku retained of the whole accident. After that, it was a blurry sequence of hits, dodges, movement, explosions, noise, made even more chaotic by the arrival of other heroes. After that, a mad dash to the nearest hospital. After that... Time. Nothing but time, hours and hours, with the sole company of his regrets. Endeavor, of all people, had had a few words for Izuku when he had reached the hospital as well. Not very heartfelt or unexpected ones, but undeniably warranted. Endeavor, who was just about the most unsociable, standoffish and selfish hero in the industry, and an unspeakable parent and husband to boot. Endeavor, who nonetheless had opened up his own agency, had sidekicks, subordinates, support, a proper network of associates, and was demonstrably not above accepting help when he obviously needed it. Not even Endeavor could have messed up so badly. Hawks had just shaken his head and spared Izuku any tirades, for the time being. He had kept watch, and later said that Recovery Girl was on her way. Izuku had genuinely no idea how many hours (days?) had passed since All Might had been admitted to the hospital. He had let some doctors examine his own wounds, done whatever he was told to do and answered whatever question he was asked with the most appropriate monosyllable. He had slept, not by choice but probably because of some medicine someone gave him at some point. He had washed and put on some fresh clothes provided by Jeanist. He had eaten, barely. He had waited. Stared at walls. Paced. Let his brain dissect in every detail the harrowing series of unforgivable blunders that had led to the current situation. Despite the doctors' initial opposition, they had allowed Izuku to enter All Might's room after Hawks had interceded. The noticeble lack of reassurances about the man's conditions had worried him, but, unlike in Nighteye's case, no one had warned him of his impending demise either, which was as good a sign as he was going to get. Since then, no one had showed up to tell him to leave, so he hadn't. He had tried to be rational about it, at first. He had analyzed the fact that All For One's goons seemed hell bent on taking advantage of All Might's weak point. The first noumu had done it, Wolfram had done it, the latest assailant had done it as well, if the extensive dressing covering the entirety of All Might's left side was of any indication. It was wicked and cowardly, but it was also a bit of a blessing in disguise. Most of his vital organs in that area had long since been eradicated, and it stood to reason that any damage on the opposite side, for example to All Might's sole remaining lung, would be more likely to prove deadly. He hoped his foes would never get that memo. He noted how scattered All Might's injuries were and reflected that, if the villain had focussed all those hits and raw strength on the hero's head alone, he would have turned it into mincemeat in a matter of seconds. As it stood, most of All Might's head was unscathed, with some padded bandaging covering about a third of his face, but relatively little damage to the cranial lid itself. Another instance of cruelty turning to their advantage, Izuku guessed. Unfortunately, instead of getting used to the sight of his mentor's wrecked body, Izuku was only finding it more and more distressing as time went by. There were too many bandages, too many tubes and machines and cables laid out around and all over him. He was too pale, his features too sunken, his appearance too similar to a corpse, his chest rising too shallowly with each breath to give him any measure of comfort. Izuku crumpled forwards in his chair, hands in his hair, face resolutely pointed at the floor, unable to stand the sight any longer. He was gutless, unworthy and criminally short-sighted. One For All probably shared that sentiment, since he hadn't heard a peep from any of the vestiges since the fight. He resumed, for the millionth time, revisiting the events of the last months, letting guilt engulf him like a poisonous cloud. He was snapped out of his reverie by a fierce grip on his wrist, and the sudden blaring of one of the machines. His heart jumped in his throat and he looked up to see All Might reaching out to him with his good hand, awake and tense, rushed breaths fogging the oxygen mask he was wearing.  Izuku's eyes flew back and forth between the man and the beeping monitor. Was he reading it correctly? A heart rate spike? Something worse? All Might was definitely awake, but not altogether... there. He had a haunted, distant expression that made Izuku's stomach constrict painfully.  "All Might?" He called, utterly failing to suppress his increasing dread. He tried to pry his teacher's hand away from his arm so that he could run and alert someone, but those bony fingers clawed him with such strength that no man in his condition had any right to have. "What's wrong?" The question seemed to help him get his bearings, somehow. Tension became confusion as All Might's gaze roamed all over Izuku, then the room, then what little he could see of himself from his lying position. Eventually the confusion waned too and exhaustion took its place as he closed his eyes and ventured a few deeper breaths.  Izuku tentatively stood up, but All Might, despite loosening his iron grip, didn't let go of him.  "Are you in pain? Shall I call someone?" He asked, still frazzled. A negative nod. As if in agreement, the monitor spontaneously ceased beeping. Izuku felt as if any decision-making ability he had ever possessed had been crushed alongside his mentor's limbs. Should he call someone, just to be sure? Weren't they monitoring patients remotely anyway? Should he- All Might opened his eyes again, and met Izuku's. The light that normally brightened them, a flame that had nothing to do with quirks and that Izuku had thought inextinguishable, was subdued and meek. It made the boy's breath catch in his throat. "I-I'm..." He couldn't say it. Apologies couldn't cut it, not this time. There were no words that could even begin to atone for the catastrophe he had nearly caused, for the pain he knew he had inflicted to the one person that had always, unerringly trusted him. His traitorous eyes burned and his vision blurred. Izuku squeezed them and bit his lip, hard. He would not cry. He didn't have the right to, especially not after months spent playing the stoic vigilante, and it was a damnable weakness he should have weaned off long ago, and All Might barely tolerated it in the first place. All Might tugged at his arm. He was regarding him gently now, with that deep warmth that one never expected to match those haggard features of his. He pulled again, until Izuku returned to the chair and scooted a little closer to the bed, close enough for All Might to move his hand to the boy's hair.  "It's okay." All Might finally spoke. His voice was disturbingly different from his usual stentorean timbre, like the rumbling thunder of a distant storm even when it was at its lowest. There was a breathless, wispy quality to his tone now, and long pauses stretching between each sentence he uttered. "It's okay to cry... I should have told you... a long time ago..." Izuku's throat clenched painfully. There was so much he had to say and explain and apologize for, so much he had to tell him, but he couldn't. He couldn't. A pitiful whimper escaped him as he brought his own hand to cover All Might's. To stop him and pull it away, or to grasp it and hold it closer, he didn't even know. "Repeat after me." All Might said in English with that odd accent of his that didn't quite sound as natural as an American's, but that nonetheless seemed to roll off his tongue so easily. Those words hit Izuku almost physically, summoning a memory of roaring waves under a starry sky, of a joyful run along an immaculate beach in a time when the future looked so much brighter, and so much more hopeful. "It's okay to cry." "...It's. Okay. To cry-" Izuku managed to force out haltingly, and suddenly it was as if a dam broke inside him. Gross sobs escaped him uncontrollably, making him gasp aloud and flinch beneath his mentor's calm gaze as some part of him took those words in stride with frightening promptness. "Don't push yourself too hard." All Might was smiling now, of all things. Where he found the strength, the will, the reason to smile so softly at him here, now, Izuku had no idea. It took the boy a few moments to realize that the hero was still expecting him to reply. "Don't push yourself too hard." He echoed shakily. He thought of Musutafu, of the USJ, of Kamino. He wondered to whom, exactly, these words were aimed at. He abandoned that line of thought immediately.  "You deserve to rest." "You deserve-" He stopped. He could not say those words, not like this. It sounded way too much like a farewell, like a request for a parting blessing. Which was unthinkable, because All Might had vowed to keep on living and he would never go back on it. But Izuku's mind conjured notions of eternal rest, tragic visions that may or may not come to pass, irredeemable mistakes- All Might's hand slid away from under Izuku's. The same hand that had once shattered buildings, created whirlwinds, held an entire nation's hope in its raised fist, trailed down Izuku's temple with unimaginable tenderness. It cupped the boy's cheek in its palm, it wiped away stray tears with its thumb. All Might mouthed something, more of an exhale than actual words, that Izuku couldn't quite catch over the sound of his own gasps.  "You deserve to rest." The boy finished. All Might was still smiling, more serene that Izuku had seen him in months. "Let's talk more later, hm?" He sighed as he closed his eyes, his hand slowly falling back on the bed. Izuku clasped it back between his own in an instant, panic flaring up in his gut all over again, fearing the unthinkable.  But the equipment kept buzzing quietly and undisturbed, the birds kept squawking, his chair kept creaking and his shoes kept squeaking. He focussed on the firm pulse beating under his fingertips, for as long as it took for his own mind to still.

You were only seventeen when the world had gone to shit. You had been studying with your friends at U.A when you watched the news roll in, villains had popped up everywhere in a large scale attack. After that day, the world had never been the same. Led by Tomura Shigaraki, the league of villains now held hostage the world, ruling it in the very way they knew how. Now labelled The Purge, many of the top heroes were wiped out in the first few months, and more as it followed.
Now today, five years later, you are still trying to survive through an apocalyptic world, where ones who were only students when it started, are now leaders of rebellion… the only force to attempt to rise up against the villain dictatorship. The Rebellion Army was created by pro heroes once the fighting began, however as the years passed, there were newly inducted commanders in charge more frequently than there ever should be. You are one of them. Along with your previous schoolmates and close friends, Izuku, Shouto, Bakugou, Iida, and Momo, somehow you had all become the leaders of the rebellion army. All the previous pro heroes either having been killed or forced into solitude for their safety and the safety of the rebellion. Together, your spread out force had managed to locate some of the existing pro’s, however, they opted to be the voice of reason and advice, and decided to leave the leadership to a bunch of twenty-year-olds. You were inducted as a commander just over two years ago due to the strength of your quirk, your incredible strategic skills, and your ability to be stealthy was far greater than anyone else. You had earned that rank in a time where you didn’t want it. All you wanted was for this all to end.
Looking down at the picture in your hands, you wish you could turn back time and transport back to it. It had been a few months before The Purge began, where the only concern you had was if you were going to pass your final exams, your work-study, and your boyfriend. Not the fate of the world, or at least not until you were a pro.
In the faded image, you were shielding your eyes from the sun but had a bright grin on your face. Your thighs were draped over a shirtless male torso that had your heart hurting inside your chest. He had a carefree, teeth-bared grin on his face, his eyes squinted shut in the sunlight, as he held onto your legs to support you. He looked so happy that day, in fact, you all were. You and your class had gone to a water-park, as a time to relax and just have chaotic levels of fun. It was one of your last good memories before it all fell apart. And now, this picture with your boyfriend was your greatest treasure.
Because two years ago, villains had discovered your previous location and attacked out of the blue. It had been pure chaos and a mad scramble to evacuate and get away with as few casualties as possible. It was one of the worst days of your life. Because that day, you had been separated from your boyfriend and once the dust had settled, he was gone. You had searched for days, not eating or sleeping. The only thing on your mind was finding Eijiro Kirishima, if it was the last thing you did. You were only forced to stop when Bakugou pulled you away, kicking and screaming.  Everyone had said he was dead, and that you needed to accept it, but Bakugou just reiterated the same line over and over.
‘Shitty hair wouldn’t fucking die like that. We’ll find him y/n.” yet here you were, two years down the line, with still no sign of him. So like everyone else, you had accepted the fact that he was no longer going to be around, and when you found yourself deep within a pit of depression, it was your friends who pulled you from it, helping you take a step every day. You weren’t over it, and you knew you wouldn’t ever be. For that red-head who was sunshine personified was the love of your life, and he always would be.
A knock comes from your closed door, and hesitantly, you shift your gaze from the photo in your hands to the figure now poking their head through the partially cracked doorway. Momo’s kind smile meets you, and when she sees the tattered picture in your hands, it morphs into something soft but laced with pain. You aren’t the only one who is hurting from his passing, it has affected your friends and comrades too. There was too much death these days, too much for people to bear.
“It was a very fun day.” She says, walking over to where you sit on your bed, before sitting next to you. It had been one of your best memories with Kirishima, yes, but also with your other friends. Some who weren’t around now…
“And so different to life now.” You reply, pushing the picture back under your pillow before you turn to your friend and fellow leading commander. “What’s going on?” There had to be something for her to come and get you during your break.
“Shouto wants to move the stealth operation to today. He says he’s got a bad feeling about tomorrow.” You’re not surprised by the idea, so you just nod, not questioning your friends’ instincts for a second. Being in charge of such a large operation, all six of your close friends have learnt the inner workings of each other's minds. And when someone has a gut feeling, a hunch, you follow it, because nine times out of ten, it’s right. And in a world ruled by villains, being wrong means death, and that’s something you don’t want to see happen ever again.   “We want you to lead it.” Of course.
The argument sits heavy on your tongue, but something inside you like always can’t seem to let it out. Maybe it was the guilt, or the fear of not being there to stop something bad from happening again. Because not long after you had lost Kirishima, you had lost your mentor, your work-study agency leader, your friend, in a stealth mission gone wrong. You had almost died that day, unable to save your mentor. Instead, Keigo Takami had saved you, and you weren’t going to let his sacrifice go to waste. You were going to protect every single one of your friends, even if it meant you died in the process.
“Alright.” Together, you both stand and begin the walk to the meeting room. The second you walk in, your eyes meet your four commanding friends, as well as three others. You smile at Jiro, Sero and Shoji before sitting down at a vacant seat. “What’s the plan?” You ask the quiet room, listening as Momo points towards a map of the city in the centre of the table, explaining the plan.
“Jiro’s ear jacks are going to eavesdrop on anything audible inside the warehouse. Shoji and Sero, you are on lookout, and  Y/n, you are on escape routes.” Everyone in the stealth team had quirks that allowed them to do their job quickly and efficiently… but you were just there as back up, as a walking bomb ready to go off if something detrimental should occur.
You’d lost half of your quirk the day you had almost died, and witnessed your mentor sacrifice himself for you. Those flames, ones you can manipulate yourself- but failed to, burnt your wings until the weight that had rested between your shoulder blades your whole life, was gone. Now, you could manipulate fire, but hadn’t used it in almost a year, instead, focusing on hand to hand combat. After that day, you could barely glance at flames without either making yourself sick, or having flashbacks powerful enough that they seemed as if you were actually trapped back in the past. The sensation… the scent… the burning… the screaming.
“Live, little firebird. Save us all.”
Squeezing your eyes shut, you let out a sigh before standing to your feet. Everyone in the room looks in your direction, and you look at Bakugou, one of your closest friends and look into his eyes, trying to ignore the nagging thought that they look similar to Kirishima’s.
“We leave at 22:00.” Momo nods to you across the table and you look to your friends who are risking their lives alongside you. “Let’s get some dirt on these assholes.”
                                            ҉ ҉ ҉ ҉
“We don’t get closer than ten metres to any entrance or exits of the building.” You whisper, using your very very little air manipulation to help your words travel to your friend’s ears. You see all three of them nod in response as you creep down the abandoned alleyway. The world is so quiet, the only noise was the slight breeze and trash being moved across the street from it. Everything about this area was abandoned and for good reason. You had discovered through one of the rebellion’s many spaced out informants, that they had seen S class league members frequently visiting this warehouse. This mission wasn’t to take more than two hours, that’s what Bakugou had drilled into your brain.
“Don’t be fucking late because I’m not coming to look for your dumb ass.” You weren’t a moron, which is what you had responded with and you could have sworn the blonde wanted to punch you in the face. It was the usual really, the urge and not the actual physical blow - that never happened. However, you knew that if your team didn’t show up, the blonde would come looking for you and not stopping until he dragged you all back and then tried to kill you himself for being stupid.
Normally, other than villain activity, it is quiet in this part of town. The previous residents having abandoned their homes the second the league of villains moved in. So you are surprised when Shoji gestured to you only thirty minutes in.
‘Figure. 2 blocks.’ He gestured with his hands, not risking to speak so close to the building. Sure you are on the second floor of the building next door, but with Jiro’s quirk in use, you aren’t going to distract her either.
‘Villain?’ You question, using both your hands to communicate the thought back. Shoji shakes his head and instead waves you over to his position. Silently, you manoeuvring until you are next to him, looking out the broken out window at where he is pointing - straight towards a figure staring at the building you’re currently listening on. The person is completely decked out in all black, and you definitely different recognise them, not that you could make out much of their figure other than the fact they were tall and bulk, probably male. If he were a villain, surely he could have just walked towards the building instead of peering at it like a predator watching its prey.
In silence, Shoji and you watch as the figure moves towards the building, carefully using the shadows to hide their body as they slip between alleyways and across the street. Okay, so not a villain… Suddenly the figure disappears behind an alleyway and you look at Shoji with a frown. What the hell was someone that wasn’t a part of the rebellion doing here?
From what you were aware, you were the only current branch within this area, the rebellion spreading wide across both Japan and the world, all under different titles and names, however, you were the leading force in this city, and possibly Japan. You would know if there was another organisation within the city limits. So who the hell was that?
Jiro taps the floor twice and your eyes look to Sero, holding his binoculars, directed straight at the warehouse. They were wrapping up. You tap your wrist to signify that you were to head out in one minute, when a gasp suddenly breaks the silence. Oxygen leaves your lungs as Shoiji tackles you to the floor. Wheezing, you don’t question in when heat engulfs the world outside the window. Your ribs scream in pain from the impact, but over your friend’s shoulder, you see the bright blue flames lick across the ceiling through the open window. Blue flames.
Your screams bounce across the concrete walls of what once had been an office building but was now nothing but rubble. Blue flames lick over your shoulder blades and neck. Your spine, engulfed in a pain you never thought possible, but what has you screaming is the image in front of you. You look up into Dabi’s smirking face, his blue flames swirling around his scarred fist. “This is the end of the line for you gorgeous.” He raises his hands in front of your face and for a second you close your eyes, praying for it all to be over. But then there’s a thump, and you watch in horror as Hawk’s - beaten to a pulp, lands in front of you, his scarlet red wings spread out behind him shielding you from the blue flames.
“Live, little firebird. Save us all.”
The last of his feathers grip your clothes, and you slam out of the rubble, dragging you across town as fast as they can. You cry out and beg to stop as one by one, they fall to the ground, losing their power, until you lay on the sidewalk outside the warehouse on your stomach, trying not to scream. You knew your wings were gone, the heavyweight you had held up your entire life wasn’t there. Only pain, god so much pain, you wanted to die. You had only passed out after you’d heard people mumbling above you, and at that point, you hadn’t cared if it were villains… you just wanted it to end.
Those blue flames… They had brought down your old compound that day, and you had been flying people out of the burning building when you had bumped into Kirishima, about to sprint into battle to join Bakugou and Shouto. You had wanted to beg him to stop, to just get out of the building, but that’s not who you were, and it definitely wasn’t who he was.
“Don’t worry angel, I’ll be back. Get everyone out and I’ll meet you at the safe-point soon.” Kirishima says, kissing you on the forehead before racing out. You hadn’t even had time to tell him you loved him like usual, before moving to pull more people from the wreckage and transporting them. And that was something you would never forgive yourself for. You let Kirishima run into that burning building.
Once you had gotten the last people out, there was a loud crunch, followed by a boom. You and Sero turn around, only to see the roof of the warehouse begin to collapse. Figures flee from the fire, and one is heading towards you at an alarmingly fast rate. The second they reach your position, you do a headcount, tracing peoples faces until you realise there are only four of them. There should be five. Whipping your head back and forth, you quickly spin around, scanning everyone here for that head of red hair...but he’s not there. Where is Kirishima? Where the hell is your boyfriend?
You then look to the very singed and exhausted as-blonde before you. “Where is Eijiro?” Bakugou frowns at you, before looking around, his movements getting more frantic with every passing second.
“He was right there…” You hear hum mutter, only for another loud bang to come from the old warehouse.
No, god please no...The situation finally hits you, and you jump to action, your wings propelling you forward towards the burning building. You hold out your hands and try to smother the flames with your quirk, but theres too much, and its burning through the building to quickly.
Your only a few feet from the inferno when you’re tackled to the ground. You try desperately and wildly to shake the weight off, but soot covered hands have pinned your wings so you can’t move.
“Get off me! HE’S STILL IN THERE! I NEED TO GET HIM OUT! KIRISHIMA!”
“And die yourself in the process? There’s nothing you can do Y/n.” Bakugou’s voice is in your ear, and you scream out in frustration. The noise is so loud, coming from a place deep inside you that it hurts your vocal chords when it comes out. There's another crunch, and you watch helplessly as the roof completely collapses, finally succumbing to the flames, and the second it falls, part of you dies with it.
“EIJIRO!” You scream again, trying to shake the blonde off you.
“I’m so sorry Y/n.”
“No, please no.” Your voice is barely there, unable to be any louder. The flames leaving nothing in their wake, devouring everything it comes into contact with. “Not him, not him.” You repeat the words over and over, as you rest your head on the ground. He’s not dead, he can’t be. I can’t- I can’t do this without him. Your heart is pounding inside your ears, unable to hear anything else, and your lungs can't seem to hold any air at all. Before you know it, black dots line your vision, and then everything is dark. Before you pass out, the last thing you remember was the flickering of blue flames.
Those blue flames took your mentor from you, they took your wings, your freedom, they took the love of your life from you. You had nothing left. And now, those blue flames are going to pay.
For a year and a half, you haven’t touched your flames. You haven't activated the power that prowls under your skin like a beast. You had smothered it, tried to calm it, bottled it up for months, waiting for a moment to release it. The second you lock eyes with Sero, you nod before rising up off the ground.
“Get them to the checkpoint now.” You hiss, just as a chuckle echoes from down on the floor below.
“Running away so easily?”
“He’s right below us,” Jiro whispers, her ear-jacks still pressed into the concrete. She looks up at you, fear her eyes. How the hell do we get out of here alive? Luckily enough, you already have an escape route.
“Sero, now!” You yell out, aiming your hands at the floor and releasing a breath. All that unrelenting anger, frustration, grief, fury bubbles to the surface, and the second you see Sero swinging out the window with Jiro and Shoji in tow, you unleash yourself upon the world. Your pent up emotions spread to life in the form of a white flame, immediately melting the floor beneath you, and unfortunately missing the scarred man that it now reveals.
“We’ve been looking for you, little firebird,” Dabi smirks, even whilst standing in the middle of a world of flames. “The name’s kind of ironic isn’t it, considering how you lost your wings.” You know he’s goading you, so instead, you raise a hand, your own flames swirling around your fingers almost resemble lightning in their color.
“Ironic, considering you’re about to be burnt alive.” You hiss out before releasing your flames upon him. Dabi quickly unleashes a flash of power, only for those cursed blue flames to become overwhelmed by a wave of white melting hot fire. The smug look disappears in his eyes as he takes you in. You can feel the fire bubbling inside your veins, spilling out across your body like a shield, only not burning you. “You took everything from me,” Your throat aches from breathing in the smoke of the building. “and now, I will take your life.” You shout, letting your quirk redirect itself partially to your feet, sending you flying through the air where you fire white-hot fireball after fireball in the raven-haired man’s direction.
He would not survive this. You would make sure of it.
Your blasts were tearing up the building around you, and the warehouse you had been spying on, yet you did not care. You would set the whole world on fire before you gave him the chance to get away. The second you boost yourself out of the building and into the open courtyard between the buildings, is when you finally notice the fact that they’re barely standing, one slight movement from completely crumbling around you. Focusing back on Dabi, he looks at the buildings before relaxing his stance and glaring back at you.
“Don’t fool yourself, you can’t kill me. You’re nothing but a pathetic waste of a quirk.” He spits back, releasing a volley of blue flames towards you. Placing both your hands above your head, palms facing the sky, you swiftly release a blaze of power as you bring down your hands towards the floor, effectively slicing the incoming blue flames in half like a hot knife slicing through butter. You weren’t going to talk anymore, instead, you would fight him until he felt as much pain as you once had. Until Dabi knew how you had felt every day for the past two years since he had taken everything from you. Since he had ripped the love of your life from your grasp and permanently forced your feet to the ground.
Pieces of debris began to fall to the floor around you from collapsing buildings. Raising your arms either side of your body, you grin a feral smile at Dabi and aim at the two buildings, knowing fully well that when they collapse, they will bury you both. Quickly catching on to your idea, the man in front of you hesitates, only for a second, as if shocked by your actions.
“I’ll see you in hell, Dabi.” You release your flames and watch as the world crumbles around you.
                                           ҉ ҉ ҉ ҉
At first, there is nothing but silence, your body weightless and mind empty of all thought. Is this death? Everything is dark until there’s a shout that echoes so loudly in your brain it hurts, and you feel something grip you tightly but you can’t tell where... and then… Nothing…
When you come to again your eyes blink open instinctively, and you find yourself staring at a concrete ceiling that you’ve seen many times before. The infirmary?
You blink a few times, vanishing the blur from your eyes. You can hear the scraping of furniture coming from outside the room, but surprisingly, as you glance around, you’re the only one in here.
Trying to sit up, suddenly your ribs screech in protest, forcing a hissing breath from your lungs. Jesus christ! You pause once you force your aching body upright, and glance around the room again, giving yourself a chance to let the pain settle before moving again. An IV machine stands empty next to your bed, and a bandage wrapped around… well your everything. The white compression cloth fits your ribs like a second skin as well as your arm. You don’t even remember getting injured… All you remember was unleashing hell on Dabi and bringing down a building around you. You were ready to sacrifice yourself to take out one of the main league members like any of your friends would have done.
The only questions that matter right now though are did you succeed? And how weren’t you dead? You can’t seem to come to an answer for either though.
A loud muffled noise comes from outside, interrupting your thoughts. Curiosity gets the better of you, as you manage to pull yourself off the bed, ignoring your aching body’s outcry. The second your bare feet meet the cold concrete flooring, you can’t hold in the wince as the temperature makes your bones groan. You push on, slipping through the closed doorway, and glancing around, trying to track the source of the noise. You can’t make out the conversations, not until you’re passing through the halls, hunched over and holding your ribs that ache with every slight movement. It’s only once you’ve been walking around for too long do you deduce that the sounds are coming from the main common room of the warehouse. As you head in that direction, you pass a mirror and actually cringe at the image that stares back.
Yikes.
Any dust and grime that had covered you from the rubble you had most likely been pulled from had been cleared, but you still look as if you have been dragged backward through hell. Small scratches pepper your face, and a massive black eye is forming on the right side of your face. If you thought you could move your arms high enough without wanting to cry, you might have prodded it to make sure it was real. Thank god for small mercies, you suppose.
As you draw closer to the large open doorway of the common room, you see a few people gathered around the entrance, with smiles on their faces. The look confuses you enough to force your feet to scuff along the floor as you stop. The second the noise meets their ears, their heads snap in your direction, and those smiles become grins that are slightly terrifying. How long has it been since you’ve seen faces like that?
“Y/n, you’re awake! I should get someone from the medical team, stay there a second.” An older woman says before quickly jogging back down the hall from which you came. More sound spills out of the room and this time, you can finally catch parts of the conversation.
“I’m going to kill you myself.” Bakugou growls, which doesn’t surprise you. But the fact that his words don’t meet his tone is what surprises you enough to force your legs to move, and to step into the room. Right away, your eyes are drawn towards the cluster of people in the middle of the room. First, you see Sero and Jiro, both looking a bit dishevelled, but mostly okay which has you sighing in relief. The next is the fact that everyone was here… but why? Between the heads of your other friends and comrades, you catch a glimpse of the fiery blonde that has pure murder in his eyes. However, he doesn’t act upon and instead reaches forward and brings someone into a tight embrace.
Oxygen abandons your lungs and for a second, you’re positive that you are hallucinating. Your body is no longer responsive and your mind is an empty void as you try to take in the person before you. He’s still across the room, but you’re asphyxiating under his very presence. His red hair is now black, most likely due to the fact hair dye wasn’t on the list of top priorities of anyone these days, and has also grown out enough to be pulled off his face. It’s so different… but those crimson eyes, ones that gleam like light peaking through rubies is the same… You are dreaming, or dead… you have to be… You had watched your boyfriend die, you had watched Eijiro Kirishima run into a burning building. You had seen the structure fold like paper cards, and you had searched the rubble for days after. You had grieved for two years for the man you had loved since you had first met him in the U.A entrance exams.
There is no logical reason as to how he is now grinning at Bakugou, slapping him on the back with tears filling his eyes. It’s not possible.
It’s not, you searched for so long…
The second he pulls the blonde back into another embrace which earns a string of curses and some laughs, his eyes finally meet yours over Bakugou’s shoulder, and you find yourself transporting back to the day you had lost him.
“Don’t worry angel, I’ll be back”. He never came back,
“Get everyone out”  You had.
“I’ll meet you at the safe-point soon.” He never did.
You’re gasping for air as your heartbeat thunders inside your head. It blocks out all other noise, and black dots dance within your vision. All of a sudden people are looking at you, and you can see Izuku’s lips moving in your direction, his eyes full of panic as he takes you in but you can’t hear him. You can’t seem to look from the ghost in front of you. No… he’s dead… Kirishima was dead. You have grieved him, you have cried over him, you have mourned the love of your life and still were…
Stepping out of Bakugou’s embrace, the man slowly walks towards you with caution, as if not to spook you. Well, that’s too late because I’m not seeing ghosts so I’m definitely off my rocker. With every step he takes towards you, you find the rise and fall of your chest gaining more and more speed, trying to take in more air, but failing to do so. Within seconds, he’s feet away from you, and you can’t take it. You had wanted this, so much… but it was impossible. Shaking your head, you hold your hands up in front of you to stop him from moving closer. Tears are flooding down your cheeks uncontrollably, and when he takes another step, you physically flinch back, a broken noise emerging from your lips that causes him to freeze. No, you’re dreaming! Wake up y/n! Maybe you’re in hell, and you are going to be forced to relive this again and again, only to lose him. If that’s true… Your eyes roam over Kirishima, looking almost the same as the day you lost him, and you know then your heart can’t take much more. You can’t take it.
“I- I can’t - I can’t…” You know you’re not making sense, and you’re not even sure if your words are actually understandable. But the pain and anguish in his red eyes is so similar to your own, it makes looking at him hurt even more. Kirishima finally walks forwards once more, until he is close enough to hold you, but he doesn’t. Instead, he stares down at you with so much affection and fondness in his eyes, and so much heartache you feel an echo of it inside your own chest.
“Sorry it took me so long to come back angel, I got a little lost.” oh my god. He says, trying to break the sombre mood with a joke, but you just fall to your knees, weeping and sobbing so hard you can’t breathe. In a split second he’s there holding you, crushing you to his chest so tightly, all you can hear is his heart and all you can smell is his scent. Oh my god, he’s here. He’s actually alive. The thought makes you cry even harder. Oh my god, he is alive.
Eijiro’s alive. Your brain begins to piece it all together. When you had brought the building down… someone grabbing you, a shout. It was him.
You pull back, your trembling hands cupping his wet cheeks as you search his face for any signs that it isn’t him, that it's nothing but a cruel dream. But the pure love swirling in his crimson red eyes and the tears running tracks down his cheeks are enough of an answer. “How I- you didn’t come back. Why? I needed you! And I thought you had died!  I thought he had killed you like Hawks… I needed you Eiji, and god I missed you, so so much!” You manage to get out between the sobbing. Your mouth is moving on its own at this point, and you can’t keep up with what it’s saying. You have so much to say, so much to tell him and feel as if you don’t say it now, you’ll suffocate under its weight.
“It’s a long story sweetheart, but I’m here. I’m never leaving your side ever again.” You clutch his shirt beneath your palms, your weeping quieting slightly, and you rest your forehead to his chest, just relishing in the heartbeat you feel beneath your hands. He’s alive. Eijiro’s alive. Your brain repeats it on a loop as if trying to forever engrave the fact into your brain so it will finally sink in that this is reality. You will no longer have to experience a day without his smile, a night without his warmth, a second without his heart.
“I love you. I love you so much, and I missed you so much Eiji I can’t-.” You whisper breaks again as you squeeze your eyes closed, trying to stop another wave of sobs from breaking through. A warm hand gently lifts your chin, and you find yourself staring back up at your first and only love. He’s alive.
“I missed you too,” he murmurs, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead before rubbing his nose against yours, his eyes not wavering from your own, as if he blinks, you’ll be gone. “I love you so much y/n, I will always come back to you. Always.”
You couldn’t care that you were in a room full of people, you couldn’t even care if villains showed up out of nowhere. Kirishima was back, he was whole and he was home.

Fluffvember Day 2
Prompt: Meeting the Family
Word count: 1.4k+
MidoriyaxAchiya!Reader
Contains: Fluff, mentioned/implied child abuse
!!! As this is inspired by my character Sade, while it is gender neutral, the powers “you” possess are Sade’s, and your history is hers !!!
Tumblr media
This was a terrible idea. An awful idea. You had only agreed to this because your sweet cinnamon roll of a boyfriend had been begging… well, since he met you, to meet your parents. Izuku Midoriya was obsessed with Heros and your parents were the top Pro Hero Duo in Europe, but as they were also… well, you and Todoroki weren't friends because your parents weren't similar, that was for sure. (In fact, Shouto is constantly telling you you likely had it rougher than him with two parents constantly on your case)
They had come into Japan to watch your graduation, something you hadn’t assumed they would actually do when you told them the date. You and Izuku had only been dating for a few months, him having nervously asked you out after the Sports Festival, when he had won first place. You had sobbed out a yes right before he had collapsed from his fight with Bakugou, who had been knocked out.
There was a day before the ceremony, and Principal Nezu had given your parents special permission to come onto campus, but you had not expected them to show up at the dorms so early in the morning. You had wanted to meet them later in the day, for dinner and nothing more.
Coming downstairs to the common room after a weird text from your father, wanting to see your friends to complain… You found your parents in civilian clothing, standing around with your friends around them.
“WHAT THE FUCK!” you scream in german, rushing towards the crowd. “What are you two doing here?!”
Bakugou hits in the corner with a sneer on his face, the only one of your friend group who really knows what they’re like. He was angry every time when Izuku kept asking about them, but had been nice enough not to tell your secrets to him. Luckily, Izuku had never suspected anything since Bakugou was just an angry person.
“That’s no way to talk to your parents, Sade,” her mother said in german, with a smile that Sade knew was fake.
“We just wanted to see you, honey,” her father said, also in german.
‘Bullshit, but whatever.’ You think before sighing, “Well, can we go somewhere else?” you ask, still speaking in german.
You only realize when all your friends seem very confused. Although, it's not far off from Kaminari’s usual looks.
“No, how about you introduce us to your friends?” your mother says with a cool tone, speaking perfect japanese, looking around to the three teenagers who had come up to her and her husband.
“This is Mina Ashito, Denki Kaminari and Eijirou Kirishima,” you say, defeated and knew there was no way you were going to get away before Izuku came downstairs. It was nearly 8am, and he came down around that time. “Oh, and that’s Katsuki Bakugou,” you add, pointing to the angry ash blond in the corner.
Of course, all your friends, minus Bakugou, are extremely happy to be introduced and chat with your parents for a bit. Kirishima thought your dad was the coolest thing, while both Mina and Kaminari had their eyes sparkling for your mother.
“Let’s go out to breakfast!” you shout as you try to shove your parents towards the door quickly.
Hearing the elevator ding, you knew it was time. You were not emotionally ready for your sweet boyfriend to meet your parents. You thought you had more time.
Hearing your voice sounding frantic, Izuku quickly ran towards you, leaving Iida and Ochaco behind in the elevator.
“What’s wrong, puppy?” he calls to you.
Feeling your face go hot, you slowly stopped shoving on your parents, turning around to meet those sweet green eyes.
“Heyyyy, Izuku…” you said nervously, letting out a soft awkward laugh.
“Hey Deku! ____’s parents are here!” Kaminari said happily.
Idiot! God, you wished you could punch him through the wall right now.
“Oh, oh!” he said, realizing he was finally going to meet them. He went to your side quickly, smiling at your parents with his scarred hand out for them. “I’m Izuku Midoriya! I’ve been dating ____ for a while now. I am really glad to meet you.” he said, holding out his hand.
Your mother’s golden eyes looked at him, studying him silently. Your father, on the other hand, took Izuku’s hand and shook it.
“Nice to meet you, son,” your father said, smiling softly, “I had my assistant find all the news on you. Busy kid, aren’t you?” he said as if that was normal.
“Dad!” you shouted, groaning.
“Oh, well, Sir, erm, I want to be the number 1 Hero and save everyone. So.. I have to always do my best!” Izuku replied honestly.
Maybe this would go over better than you thought…
“And can you?” your mother's cold voice piercing the air. Everyone’s breath seemed to hitch, everyone watching them.
“I-” Izuku started, stumbling as he was rather flustered, but got cut off.
“He can, auntie,” the voice said, Shouto appearing from the elevator area. “Midoriya is very strong,” he added.
“Shouto! My sweet boy,” your mother's tone changed as she went to the icy-hot boy, hugging him happily to her.
You could see the strain on Izuku’s face, though grateful for Shouto’s words, he felt horrible that your mother seemed to not like him. All he wanted was to be accepted by your parents.
“Sorry about my wife,” your father said with a chuckle. “You seem like an okay boy, Midoriya, but my wife cares more about power,” he informed them, shrugging. “It’s why we are together. To create power. Which we did. Although it took some breaking...” he said, looking at you before looking back at Izuku, “Think about why you’re together. What do you want to create? What can you do for ____?” he said before going to Shouto and his wife, greeting the boy he hadn’t seen in several years.
Izuku was shaking beside you, likely feeling horrible.
“Babe…” you murmur, squeezing his hand tightly.
“Are they… this way with you… all the time?” he wondered quietly as he led you towards the kitchen, not that your parents noticed.
“You finally realized, you damn Deku?” Bakugou’s voice surprised you. He was sitting in the corner of the kitchen, having not wanted to be a part of what was going on out in the common room. “That’s why ____ is always avoiding your questions about them!” he snapped, irritated.
“Is that true…?” Izuku asked, his voice hurt that it seemed Bakugou knew you better than he did.
Swallowing a lump, you nod slowly, “I just… didn’t want to ruin your impression of Heros..” you said pitifully.
“I know what Endeavor was like! I handled that when Todoroki told me,” he said, feeling a bit hurt. It was more that Bakugou knew something about you that he didn’t.
You look away, as does Bakugou. Izuku looks between you two, his eyes going wide. “Was it… worse?” he said, his voice barely audible. You can feel the anger rising inside him. Finding out his sweet angel had been abused as a child was very hard news for him.
“L-Look, Izuku, it’s not like that anymore and I never have to let them control me again,” you say quickly, hoping it will soothe the anger.
Bakugou had a smirk on his face at this new development, liking the fact Izuku was so angry for your sake. All he wanted to do was encourage the anger, but he knew that would anger you… which he actually did not like being on the receiving end of. Instead, he just got up and left, deciding you needed alone time.
Holding his face in your hands, you gently kiss the tip of his nose, “It’s okay, Izuku,” you coo softly.
Slowly, his fists unclench, finding their way to your hips to pull you into a protective hug. “Puppy, please don’t hide things from me,” he murmured, looking into your eyes. “Especially not if Kacchan already knows,” he added quietly.
Your face got hot again, was he jealous?
“He found out on accident,” you tell him, sighing softly. If it had been up to you, no one would have known. “Come on, we should go back… They’ll leave soon enough,” you assured him, squeezing him as you two embraced.
Leaning into your ear, he whispered sweetly into it, “I’ll make sure you’re never scared like that again,” he told you. He meant it, too.
Smiling and walking out hand in hand with your sweet green haired boyfriend to go show him off.
Even if your parents didn’t accept him, you did and that was all that mattered.

One For All Users Theory
My theories on the mystery users of One for All. Major spoilers for the manga...so make sure you're caught up. You have been warned.
For those still curious, the somewhat spoiler free TLDR of what I have written here: The naming system of One For All users appears to follow the trend of having each user's name have something to do with their number. We only know four of their names so far and have been led to believe that their name-number thing is tied to the number of user they are/were. While reading that tidbit I realized that "Katsuki" is homonyms with "victory", which lead me to thinking "first place"...so..."first user...that One For All was passed onto...so technically the second user"...and that "Eijiro" when written with the right kanji means "Second son"...so...second person the Quirk was passed onto? So...maybe this lends some weight to the theory that Bakugo Katsuki and Kirishima Eijiro are our mystery previous users? Building on that theory, I suggest a potential explanation for All Might's Muscle form.
A while back I found a few theories online floating around  that Bakugo Katsuki and Kirishima Eijiro are the second and third users of One For All, respectively. The silhouette for the spiky-haired dude definitely seems like a dead ringer for Katsuki.
I thought this theory was kind of ridiculous because a true time-travel Quirk has yet to be established in HeroAca. The theories that I found insisting that it was so all linked it to Eri--that Eri's Rewind somehow sent Katsuki back in time all the way to the point of the first user. Personally, I think that claiming Rewind can do that is a stretch. The only victim of Eri's Quirk that we know of that was rewound out of their present existence was her father, and we have no idea what actually became of him. Some claim that she basically rewound his body to the point where he deaged into inexistence. Eri's Quirk is still largely unexplored, but based on the way it was used in the battle against Overhaul I don't think there's enough evidence to claim that Eri's Quirk could send someone back in time. At present, it appears to only have an effect on a single individual's cells and/or molecular structure. She appears to be able to make damage to living cells reverse themselves. De-aging would fall under that, 'cuz some people would consider aging basically gradual cell death...so it's possible that is what happened to her father. Potentially, he had no injuries and was far too intrigued or shocked to get out of range--he was an adult, he should have had time to get out of range before vanishing into nothingness. Unless, of course, Eri's Quirk awakening happened like Tenko's and she goes through a similar subconscious suppression of her Quirk due to trauma. It's possible she could de-age a person out of existence in an instant, but after doing it to her dad the trauma caused her to keep a lid on it...hence why Izuku had time to think and realize what was going on with his body and that he'd have to damage his body fast enough to keep up with Eri's Quirk. I don't see any hints that Eri's Rewind has elements of time travel though. If she's capable of it, then our best bet would be to question what actually happened to her father--were his cells simply rewound to the point that he no longer existed (rapid de-aging), or was he maybe transported to a different era? It's possible, but it's currently unexplored in canon.
Ultimately, I think that until we get some more facts it's too soon to claim that Eri will send Bakugo and Eijiro to the past. How they get to the past isn't what I want to theorize on tonight...but on *why* it's probable they could become the mystery users.
We all know that Horikoshi loves meaningful names and that each One For All user appears to follow a naming rule where their names have some connection to which number of user they are with the Quirk. Izuku's "ku" is homophones with nine, Yagi's got an eight in his surname, Nana is homophones with seven, etc. That would imply that the unknown users should have "two" and "three" in their names somewhere, since they are the second and third users of One For All. It's another stretch, but what if the first user was "Zero" and the mystery users became "One" and "Two"...being the first and second users to have One For All passed on to them (after all, in the original user would it be called One For All if it's just the power-stocking quirk coupled with the ability to pass on quirks?) It gains the "one for all" moniker because it's passed on. Also, if we're screwing with time, having the numerical naming order be disrupted seems a bit poetic--it shows in the names that something messed up as far back as the 2nd user if his name bears allusions to "one" or "first".
After reading the bit about the users names again recently, something began to bug me--especially with the silhouette of one of the users being a dead ringer for a Katsuki look-alike. Katsuki can mean victory--which made me think of 'first place'. Eijiro, with the right kanji, can sometimes mean "second son" as a name--"second person to inherit the quirk (technically third user)"? This would definitely create an odd naming system for sure and a number would end up being missing from the names. However, it could be possible. In Asian cultures 8 is seen as a lucky number and fours are considered unlucky. It's possible that "four" could be skipped entirely, having All For One's brother be "zero", Katsuki being "First/one", Eijiro being "second/two", and the unknown fourth user being named with "third/three", skipping four entirely and we get Banjo Daigoro (Black Whip) as our confirmed fifth user ("go" in his name is homonyms with five), the dark-haired dude as our sixth user, Nana at seventh, All Might at eight, and finally our nineth as Izuku/Deku. Fours are already taken anyway--All For One claims that "Shigaraki" was his own name...and that he gave it to Tenko/Tomura for that reason. "Shi" is homonyms with "death" as well as one way to say "four" in Japanese (the other being "yon"). Maybe the One For All users won't invoke four because it's the name of their fated enemy.
It's definitely a stretch dependent on whether or not Horikoshi is superstitious about fours or whether or not it'll be a factor in the naming system at all or whatever. Also, this names theory only means anything if we're willing to accept the possibility that Katsuki and Eijiro are the mystery users.
Another thing I wonder as part of this theory has to do with Eijiro's Hardening Quirk being within One For All.
All Might claims that he was Quirkless, and now that the embers of One For All have left him, he should be completely Quirkless...but he's still shown the ability to turn into his muscle-form...and it's acknowledged by the characters as his muscle form, so that makes me think that it's actually happening in the world of the story and that it's not just a gag for the readers. Muscle-form looks like a Quirk to me...so...if Toshinori was Quirkless and One For All has left him...then where did muscle-form come from and why does he still have the ability to change into it--no matter how briefly?
My theory on muscle-form is that it's Kirishima Eijiro's Hardening Quirk (assuming we accept the fact that Eijiro is one of the past users of One For All)--that Toshinori drew on the stored Quirk without knowing it...and that even if the embers of One For All are truly gone from him...somehow that last bit of it stayed with him. After all, it's different from all of the other Quirks we know of within One For All. Hardening is a transformation type Quirk--the results are temporary. Black Whip, Float, and whatever happens when Izuku taps into One For all, Full Cowling and any SMASH! moves--all of those appear to be emission-type Quirks. Perhaps Transformation-type Quirks linger or merge with the very cells of the user...and thus don't entirely leave even when the embers are gone? My theory on why Hardening looks different on All Might than it looks on Eijiro can be explained by Monoma's explanation of his copy ability and "blanks".
Monoma could copy Fatgum's Quirk, but it wouldn't function the same way. It appears that FatGum's Quirk gives him the ability to convert calories into fat at a more efficient rate than normal, and that his bodyfat has some extraordinary qualities--behaving like quicksand or rubber or whatever. His stored fat gives him the ability to trap people, stockpile force/blows, and the ability to basically lie on a dentonation device and absorb the force of the explosion--letting it out (ike the stockpile of force/blows) in a safer manner than if the device were to simply dentonate (see Vigilantes). FatGum's Quirk wouldn't work on Monoma because it relies on the stockpile. He'd have the quirk but wouldn't be able to do the same things with it--especially given the time limits. Potentially, Monoma would be able to convert calories into fat and get rounded out in the time he copies FatGum's Quirk...but he wouldn't be able to absorb people or blows in the same way until he had enough stockpiled fat. Basically, he could copy FatGum's Quirk, but he wouldn't balloon out to look like a copy of Fatgum.
I'm suggesting here that All Might's Muscle-Form is Kirishima Eijiro's Hardening Quirk (assuming that we accept that Eijiro is a previous user). Maybe "Hardening" manifested differently on All Might's frame than it does on Eijiro. It's a transformation type while the others currently known to be a part of One For All are emission-types. All Might's Muscle-form certainly looks like a transformation-type to me--maybe he's just not as rocky as Eijiro because the rocky part of it is something to do with Kirishima's own cells...cells All Might doesn't have. The way the Quirk manifests on All Might is different from how it manifests for Eijiro.
It's a stretch 'cuz we don't have enough facts from canon--and a lot of what I've written here relies on a heck of a lot of speculation. But hey, this is all just a theory (jkjk...love that channel...system of channels btw. Thank you MatPat for the amazingly done edutainment).
