this is a guy who Twitches, Subtly. looking at him is like looking at a very large cat that's slightly upset — just a little whisker-shake, an ongoing flick of a tail-tip. and he Stares at you. rowlandson is an unpleasant man to be watched by, but you can't forget that he is an Alive guy, and a guy who could Move Suddenly at any moment.

oh you know he is wearing the same shirt that he was wearing during the day, and also that he will wear the same shirt again tomorrow. depending on the Situation (and he's often in situations) he's also perfectly comfortable just sleeping in his clothes. he has the kind of heavy wavy hair that will get tangled if you look at it wrong, so he'll often braid it if he's got time for that, even if he's not got time for other bedtime rituals.

I did a day for Zora May!

Today I picked "Alternative Design" and my mind immediately went to the Lionfish Mipha design showed off in the creating a champion artbook! I remember the day I saw it I immediately fell in love, and I wondered about the Mipha we could have had. (DGMW I still very much love canon Mipha!! EvenIfIWishSheWasBigger)

I just love how spikey and kinda intimidating she is!! Though I'll admit the appearance doesn't exactly match the personality of the Mipha we know, I still think it could have been a fun contrast.

I drew this scene immediately after I read it because oh my god of all the things I was expecting from Paris's first introduction, him lending a (unneeded) helping hand to Lyla was NOT what i thought his first introduction would be like

#ik the anatomy for Tyrone is kind of fucked up but drawing this exact pose like what I saw in my mind is hard TwT #TME LN #the mighty extra #Lyla de Belliana #Tyrone de Belliana #Paris Valerian #i had to reread this scene like 3 times but hoo boi do i ADORE the way Paris appears in the background #i have a feeling im going to adore the light novel version of him lmao #so far he reads as being a trickster and i LOVE tricksters #not that he isn't technically a trickster in the manhwa canon but based on the tiny context in the LN he's mischievous af #i haven't read past this part yet but im wondering if Paris helped Lyla because of Fian #or if he helped Lyla because of Helene #because i can see him helping out Lyla due to knowing she's important to Helene #and there's a possibility he's already met Helene and is allied with her #or he's acting on behalf of Fian #which makes less sense in the context of the light novel than in the manhwa bc there's literally no suggestion Paris would know that Lyla i #Fian's “fairy” and therefore he has no reason to help her #so im putting my bet on him helping out Lyla either due to a promise with Helene or because he wants to get on Helene's good side #(and ngl i kind of hope for the latter)#(tho this scene alone made my brain go “okay but what if Paris adopted Lyla as his little sis in law”#because #you know #he resembles IRL!Lyla a lot and i think it's easy to mistake them as siblings if you put em side by side #which would be funny if that's intentional but i do not think so)#also on a non-Paris related note Tyrone gets an interaction with Helene in the light novel and i actually enjoyed it #the manhwa ignores the fact these two are fully blood-related but seeing Tyrone be scolded by Helene really gave them the feel of being sib #and i like how there's a little more depth to him in the LN than in the manhwa #like how he's trying to study the laws and being a political diplomat #i still like him the least of the named Belliana siblings but he's a little less one-note here and im enjoying that lmao

Have you ever thought about how Linebeck describes Jolene as "crazier than a rabid squid"- only to then be possessed by a literal rabid squid later in the game?

linking it to my bellum x linebeck thoughts, im not too sure what to make of it in context with my other linebeck notes and w/e

there's also my idea that linebeck has a special interested in shellfish and by extension squids, and the idea of him having a weird thing for bellum, and just... enjoying sealife, and it's kinda of...

he compares her to a rabid squid to link in order to i think... offer a shorthand explanation of what she's like, and i think it (with some other stuff) is kinda just another little peek into how he might feel abt her?

i mean he also compares link to a dog in that one letter? i'm not sure where im going with that one. i dont think linebeck particularly likes dogs

i'm not sure abt the link between that and him getting possessed, jolene is kind of just... there a lot of the time and doesn't really do anything except 1) show that linebeck has enemies and 2) show that people know about link's quest by the end, linebeck generally references sea creatures a few times in ph

relating to bellum x linebeck, i dont see him comparing jolene to a squid an indicator of anything in relation to that, with linebeck having a thing for bellum its more of like. there's a lot of complicated ideas i have with what goes on between them during bellumbeck and bellum being a squid thing is more linebeck having a bit of a monsterfucker streak and having a bit of a thing for like. being tied up. as for literal squids he kinda just likes them as food and to dissect and learn about

like i think 'rabid squid' is more like linebeck just tossing out some derogatory shorthand to explain how he thinks of jolene as some fucking. violent annoyance he has to deal with that he doesn't fully understand
