Since I mentioned about Pam being the journalist and her role in my imagination of your said AU. In your interpretation, what do you think about Pam's role and her relationship to the twins in this AU? Same goes with Kid Ritz's role and his relationship with the twins?

My vision of Pamenilia's role in this AU, right?... Hmm, quite a difficult question, since initially, as I wrote in that very post, anyone could substitute either her, or Orchids, or even ur OC in the place of a policewoman, but I really liked your vision of this AU, so I don't against her current role as a journalist and Orchid friend :)

What about the relationship between her and the twins... God, you know, I really love all sorts of dark themes, as well as drama, so I don't even know if I should describe it in detail or not lol

In short, between her and Veneer in this AU slipped... A certain spark (which cannot be categorically called love or hate). Pam, in my pure understanding, is a person who hates cheating more than anything else. Perhaps she was so influenced by her work as a journalist, or maybe these are more personal problems. The life that V&V built is based on deception. Their image, their life, is all one big lie. For Pam, knowing this is second reason why she takes such risks by opposing them. The first, of course, is the safety of her best friend, who was unknowingly dragged into this swamp.

Tbh, she would have liked the real Veneer personality (in the sense that she was crazy about him in canon, right?). They could have been friends if it hadn't been for the circumstances. And so... Who knows where all this will lead them. Clearly not in a bright future :)

As for Ritz, I also don't have particularly clear thoughts. Everyone can make him who they want 😄

Personally, as if by default, I consider him a news anchor, who he is in the canon. He periodically takes slightly provocative interviews with the stars, covers the musical novelties of this week/month/year, and all that.

Perhaps at some point in time he can get closer to the twins, just for the sake of sniffing out some interesting news. Actually, it seems to me that he knows a lot of interesting things about a lot of people, not just about twins. It's just that sometimes the mask of a relaxed dude just doing his job plays a good role for him))

a crumb of rant, anyone?

this morning I saw someone on tiktok arguing that authors (ao3) aren't obligated to properly tag their fics. i think one of her exact words was 'authors don't owe readers tags and warnings'. i also went thru some of her comments and her arguement for 'visibility/exposure' was that not everyone cares about that. and she argued that authors shouldn't have to think of every possible scenario where someone might find something triggering in their work...

there's a lot to unpack here.

first of all, I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like i've read ao3's terms and conditions and policies, but as people who are trying to be involved in a fandom and consume content I don't think wanting (or even expecting) a safe(r) space for everyone is a radical view. I don't think any reader expects hyper-specific niche triggers to be in the tags but if you've written something potentially triggering you KNOW you've written it so it shouldn't be that hard to tag some general warnings. (granted most of the authors in her comments had said as such, that tagging doesn't take more than 2 minutes and they're happy to do it)

secondly, I feel like we need to stop with the 'you should write for urself and not strive for attention' bullshit. if we didn't care about exposure, attention and validation we'd have kept the fic in our docs.

and lastly, there's whole conversation to be had about this newer wave of people joining fandom spaces who aren't familiar with the rules and etiqquettes (a lot of whom actively refuse to learn and comply) and how to interact with fanmade content, especially fanfic, but the bottomline is; No, fanfic platforms don't need algorithms and comment and bookmark sections aren't there for u to leave your 'honest reviews' like in the goodreads app. So logically, when we're here trying to teach these imbeciles how to use the search and filter functions instead of booktokifying fanfics (something I've noticed already happening) and rely on twitter recs to find fics to read, we should also encourage proper tagging for newer authors joining the club.

I know everyone else has pretty much said their farewells to the fandom, and I haven't been active at all really in the last four months, but I wanted to say thanks to all of you as well.

Finding Ballum is something that got me through the first couple years of the pandemic, something that got me writing after a decade-long dry spell, and the lovely people in the fandom helped me push past some of my social anxieties and actually make some friends here which I didn't think was possible for me. It all means a great deal to me because the last 4 years have been rough in so many ways and I don't think I would've managed it as well if I didn't have this show and all of you folks to enjoy it with.

So I want to express my love and many thanks to everyone who I've befriended through Eastenders, all the writers and artists who have made watching the show more fun with their talent and skill, and anyone who has read my writing over the last few years. It's been a wild ride but I'm so glad to have been here for it with all of you 💜

hey all! this feels a bit dramatic, but anything less would be a disservice to the last two years. As some of you may or may not know, I've been running my weekly posts off a queue that's been stocked ahead from periods of high art output. since, I've hit the very natural part of the art cycle where I'm a lot less inspired & run out of posts. In fact, I haven't drawn klance in quite a while! The last few drawings you've seen (minus this one) are from September.

people get busy, fandoms change, and right now I'm just not in a place to keep posting as regularly. I'll still be active & around if you want to say hi, and maybe the inspiration will come back and i'll have some things here and there for you all :-) but largely, I'm taking a break.

I cannot believe how lucky I've been to be part of this community, and it's something I never would have expected. I've made incredible friends, been involved in fantastic projects, run a whole zine (shoutout Cosmic Constant! we're still wrapping that one up, haha), and my art skill has grown phenomenally thanks to these two goofs.
