First of all, it cements that the antagonists of Buffy have the best gaydar bc they’re gay, because Faith (in the body swap episode) and Spike were literally the ONLY PEOPLE who NATURALLY noticed that Willow and Tara had a thing going without being told about it. It’s so fucking funny that Spike just immediately susses it out. Like yeah, they’re not hiding it, but he doesn’t even consider that it could be casual intimacy or anything, just like “yeah they’re lesbians, makes sense”

Second of all, the fact that he uses witchcraft as a metaphor for lesbianism. It’s just really funny

Third, how when he tells them that their friends are being judgy (a.k.a homophobic) about it, Willow just fucking believes him 😭 Like yes girl, this evil soulless vampire was definitely allowed to participate in a personal conversation between people who hate him about your relationship, makes total sense. She’s so upset about it too, bless her.

And then just Spike throwing in “I think it’s fine btw. If you wanna be a witch, be a witch, you know?” Like it’s just so fucking funny in retrospect. ‘Yeah, I’m an evil dude who cares about none of you, and I’m actively trying to convince you that your friends are homophobic so that it will cause a rift between you, but I just gotta let you know that I support gay people.’ It was probably so they’d trust his word more, but it’s still just so funny that he threw that in there. Just letting them know they have the Spike seal of approval.

the vees take up such a unique antagonistic role in hazbin. they're so silly and pathetic except in specific bursts of competence. but even those moments are overshadowed by the way they just brute force everything. vox lost his own diss track against alastor. velvette didn't even do anything with the information she gathered at the overlord meeting. the more valentino lashes out like a child the more he loses control of angel. the person they picked to infiltrate the hotel ended up becoming its very proof of concept. they sung gleefully about the power vaccuum created by alastor's absence only for alastor to reappear 30 seconds later. what are they even doing. they're like an extremely unhinged team rocket

I OBSESS OVER THIS SO MUCH BECAUSE IT JUST SUMMARIZES SIFFRIN’S CHARACTER SO WELL WITH A NEAT LITTLE RIBBON

Mirabelle is worried that she’s dragging everyone with her, Siffrin (that fuckin people pleaser) reassures her Truthfully that he couldn’t be happier while on their way to an almost certain death. This shows that Siffrin really values their friends and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else and also how he didn’t really have anything going for him before this. I repeat they had nothing to live for. No goal to strive towards but surviving.

Mirabelle understandably has a mixed reaction towards this response.

But the most important part is Siffrin’s reaction to this. He cringes over it because it was a bad thing to say to someone in Mirabelle’s situation. That she was probably sad over what the king had done to her home and that it was weird to say that they were happy in a situation like that. And while yes she was probably reacting to that a bit, but mostly I just think she was worried, because for Siffrin to be the happiest he’s ever been in a time like this, she doesn’t want to imagine what it was like for him before. But Siffrin doesn’t realize that she was worried about them. He only thinks about her emotions.

Because Siffrin doesn’t believe that anyone can care about them.
