I love smut. I love it a lot, but my most favorite things to read/write about are those absolute soul catching feelings of falling in love for the first time. That first kiss that feels like fireworks, those growing feelings that could make up an entire mountain, that heart stopping moment where they finally end up together. Those vulnerable angsty moments where nothing can stand in their way. That beautiful slip of time where souls burn hot for one another as they realize they’re soulmates 🥹
the great thing about dm'ing is that its been such a surprise to be like "ah yes this feels obvious to me, the person who created this lore and knows all the answers" and then remember that my players do not have any of the context and therefore cannot instantly make those connections.
recently set up a town with some weird naming conventions to suggest that one of the primary NPCs in the story was from there (which will be very important for later mystery reasons), and the players picked up on the weird names and made several comments about them, but never made the connection to the NPC. Fast forward like three sessions, where they were shit-talking the town to said NPC, which she reacted badly to. After a great insight check where I described her as offended, one of my players interrupted to yell "wait whats her name???" and the whole table started freaking out about it. great times and it makes me want to set up like ten times that amount of clues lol.
Statues of angels and the virgin mary, mild blood and gore, the pale aesthetic, renaissance frescos, the human body, poetry that puts my tensions into perspective; these are the things i live for.
