Saw the D&D post and how you said that our own takes are good to include, so I went to dndbeyond and searched for some fun races and subclasses. I haven't touched D&D books in years, so it'll be a little scuffed

Larry - a Hedge, College of Eloquence Bard, the best flirt in town >:]

Apple - a Strig, Oath of Devotion Paladin, a Gladiator that fights for freedom of other gladiators that still have to fight for some feudal lord

Bonsais - Warforged (folk made of wood and metal), one is a War Domain Cleric, the other is a Battle Smith Artificer, and they are both former Soldiers, tired of war but can't quite able to leave behind fighting skills

Em - a Haregon, Forest Druid, a known neighbour who keeps both the forest and the passerbys safe from each other

Larry is ABSOLUTELY a college of eloquence bard, though I think he would not be resistant to being charmed as hobgoblins normally would lol. I picked Soldier just for COD, though I think he would have been dishonourably discharged for fraternising with the enemy

Apple had to be a high elf with her posh accent and quite proper manners. I don’t see her fighting as much since she’s not very confrontational, and divination wizard is better as support.

I love the Bonsais as warforged, and I really like the war cleric and battle smith artificer, but I always think of them as very crafty and deceptive. I like the idea of them being a pair of notorious thieves who work in tandem to evade the law.

Em to me is Pasta’s knight. I think she would be assigned to protect her at birth during a magical storm that made her an aasimar. I don’t exactly know why I chose storm herald specifically, I think it was another gut feeling

OMG, thank you for the ask! So sorry about the wedding announcement—I already covered it in this other ask.

Here's the continuation.

Aang and Katara had just gotten back from the city, where they were bombarded by the press about Tenzin's wedding announcement in the paper. They decided to brush it off and headed home. When they walked into the living room, they found Bumi and Kya sitting there, both looking pretty serious.

Bumi spoke up first, "Mom, Dad, there's something you need to know," he said, laying it all out—from Tenzin not knowing about the wedding announcement to the fact that a small group of acolytes seems to be behind the whole mess. They also filled them in about how Lin had tried to contact Tenzin, but these acolytes and abbots from the air temples kept interfering. Aang shook his head, looking really frustrated. Katara rubbed her temples, clearly upset. "We need to retract that newspaper announcement," she said firmly.

Kya and Bumi exchanged glances before Kya nodded. "We'll handle it," she assured them.

Pema was speechless as she turned toward the voice. It was Sokka, Suyin’s dad.

"It's been a while since we last met," he said, his voice heavy with disappointment. "I can't believe this is how we’re reunited. "

Pema, defensive, replied, "Not to be rude, Master Sokka, but this doesn’t concern you. Tenzin and I love each other. I’m here because he wants me to marry into this family, and—"

He cut her off. "Are you so sure about that?"

Su looked puzzled. "What do you mean, Dad?"

“I saw him leaving in a hurry not long ago,” Sokka said, looking concerned. “I’m curious where he’s headed—or more importantly, who he’s going to.”

Pema immediately dashed out of the room and into the living area, where she ran into Katara and Aang.

“You!” Katara said, her eyes locking onto Pema. “You’re Pema, right?”

Pema’s eyes went wide, and she nodded, gulping.

Aang stepped forward and asked, “So, who are these acolytes involved in all this?” He paused, clearly frustrated. “And where can I find them? I need to have a word with them.”

Tenzin arrived at the farm with Oogi and quickly spotted some familiar faces—Chin and Choi.

“What are you doing here?!” they yelled, clearly upset after seeing the announcement. “Are you here to hurt Lin more?” Chin demanded.

“Leave now!” Choi shouted. “We don’t care if you’re a bender. We can’t let you near her!”

Izumi, who had heard the commotion, came over and saw Tenzin. “Please, Izumi,” Tenzin pleaded. “Let me see Lin. I need to talk to her and make things right.”

Izumi addressed Chin and Choi, who were still reluctant. “I’ll make sure Lin is safe,” she assured them. “If Tenzin does anything out of line, I’ll take care of him myself.”

As they walked in, Izumi smirked and asked, “What took you so long, lover boy?”

Tenzin just sighed, exhausted.

“I’m guessing Bumi and Kya filled you in on everything?” she added.

He nodded, “Yeah, they did.”

“Figures,” she replied, then suddenly slapped him across the face.

Tenzin was shocked but knew he probably had it coming. Izumi didn’t miss a beat. “Lin’s in her room, sleeping. She spent the whole morning crying and blaming herself for letting you go.”

Flashback 

Early in the morning, Kya, Bumi, Izumi, and Suyin headed over to Lin's place right after seeing the wedding announcement. When Lin opened the door, her eyes were red and puffy—she had obviously seen it too.

"Why are you guys here?" she asked, her voice flat.

"To check on you, duh," Suyin said, trying to lighten the mood.

"I'm okay…" Lin whispered, but the shakiness in her voice gave her away.

"Oh, come on, Lin. We know you better than that," Kya said, not buying it for a second.

"I didn't clear my schedule today just to hear you lie," Izumi added, her tone firm but concerned.

"Hey, come on, ladies. Let's not—" Bumi started, but before he could finish, Lin’s legs gave out, and she collapsed to the floor.

Izumi was at her side in an instant, pulling her into a comforting embrace. "This is all my fault," Lin choked out between sobs. "If I hadn’t ended things with him… now he’s…"

Kya and Suyin joined in, wrapping their arms around Lin, offering silent support as she cried. But Suyin, ever the blunt one, asked, "It’s just a wedding announcement, you know." She sighed, "If you love Tenzin that much, then why didn’t you ask him back sooner??"

Lin looked at her, tears streaming down her face. "I tried," she whispered. "I sent letters, I called, I even visited the air temples myself." Her voice broke as more tears fell. "But they said he doesn’t want to see nor speak to me anymore."

Everyone froze, shocked by what they were hearing. None of them knew about this.

"What? Why didn’t you tell us?" Bumi asked, his voice full of concern. "We could’ve helped you."

"I... I was the one who ended things with him," Lin admitted, her voice trembling. "So… I wanted to make things right myself."

Kya shook her head in disbelief. "I can’t believe Tenzin, that jerk."

Lin's voice cracked as she continued, "I thought I’d moved on, that I was fine with it, but the tears… they won’t stop. I love Tenzin... I love him… What do I do?...I still love him.." she sobbed, her shoulders shaking as she let out all the pain she’d been holding in.

I recommend An Accident of Stars by Foz Meadows! It's portal fantasy for grownups, where "for grownups" means hopepunk not grimdark. Amazing queer found family, diverse queer-normative worldbuilding, and beautiful, moving prose. Foz Meadows also wrote A Strange and Stubborn Endurance, which I highly recommend as well. It has a sequel coming out soon too!

20. What is their best memory together?

Favourite moments in your relationship differ depending on who you ask. For Matty, spending the entire day with you at the mall in caught up in fashion, and then sitting on a hill for hours getting stoned was his "Fuck, i really love her" moment. Whenever he thinks of you, that day pops up in his mind x For you its that first 'i love you'. Not the proper one that happens later in the series, but that first, quiet, he-thought-you-were-asleep 'i love you'. Your heart swells up with joy whenever you think back on it, how it really was him all along.

If a stranger saw them together, how would they describe their relationship?

very.. affectionate, especially Matty. That boy is all over you every moment of every day. Has a penchant for licking your face instead of properly kissing you (ross has a theory that its for marking you as his territory, Hann just thinks its incredibly gross. Unsleeping City might work:

Kristen now prays to like, actual Jesus (this is kinda confusing because he physically appeared in this universe and seemed very nice, but I guess she could still have her religious crisis anyway). Anyway, she's from a very religious midwestern family and somehow talked them into letting her go to a New York boarding school (??? do they even have those in the city, I'm German lol) so she could bring the word of the Lord to The Heathens. She maybe performed one (1) very dubious minor miracle that was probably just a weird coincidence at home, and like, she was low-key convinced she was a special chosen of God but suddenly she has like, actual magic

Riz initially looks like a regular very cringey teenager but is, actually, a goblin. Who is still looking for his halfling babysitter. Basically Riz stays the exact same except he now gains a fun new dimension of investigating stuff on both sides of the Umbral Arcana. I want him to go full Veronica Mars at least once. I also want him and his mom to be involved in exposing Epona as the crook she is so badly.

poor Gorgug gets a near body-horror storyline in this verse: He's still a half-orc, but raised by regular humans who took him in as a baby and have since then, thanks to the Umbral Arcana, been convinced he's perfectly normal and human, just weirdly tall. They run one of these shops that remakes your keys, repairs your shoes, sells a bazillion little tinkering tools and glues etc. Gorgug is convinced something is really fucking wrong with him, but every time he brings it up, they just very patiently explain puberty to him again. He eventually brings them into the Unsleeping City and they're very supportive, and start making stuff for its citizens on the side.

Fig's storyline still works, pretty much unaltered tbh! Replace elves with some other immortal race from the universe (I'm pulling a blank), Gorthalax can still be from hell. Ayda is now probably from the literal New York Public Library, but still a phoenix. Fig is still a rockstar, who either still could blow everyone's mind when touring because she's actually magic, or who is just a regular rockstar outside of New York City (I don't actually remember if they're still magic when they leave New York? They must be though, since they exited the tunnel on the Jersey side in S2, right?)

Adaine is now the daughter of diplomats for Heaven who are running some *really* long con, who ends up at the Gramercy Occult Society. I don't like going the fairie route for this because it's important the Abernants have not a shred of whimsy

She can ride a bike, and she remembers the time she, Maya, and Jackson took her bike, attached a sled to it, and Maya and Jackson sat on it as they rolled down a hill. Or atleast, until they hit a rock and Maya got launched, breaking an Arm and having a gash on her knee that needed stitches and is now a scar. That is the most memorable thing she remembers about learning to ride a bike. Especially since Ollie recorded it and cheered on the stupidity in the background
