Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

sorry to be a bit of a hater but i do wish youtubers weren't so scared of making their videos just like, "reviews", whys everything gotta be a "video essay" all the time. every day my recommendations are filled with 40 minute videos titled "_____: An Underrated Masterpiece" where the first like five minutes are reading the wikipedia definition of "masterpiece" in a somber voice with dramatic themed text on screen. please just tell me how good or bad you think something is and use the rest of the runtime to explain why. you dont need to put on all these airs

#i know the ahem. channel. of some awe....... that whole situation kind of scared people off from using the word review #but like we live in the future now. you can make a review. i believe in you #AND LIKE i like a good video essay!! but im picky. because i read academic shit for fun #when i see a capital E essay im expecting theses. im expecting sub headers. im expecting multiple examples AND footnotes with asides #(and i know this is a controversial topic but i do expect them to be long. because if you read aloud a 4 page journal article its gonna)#(take a bit of time LOL maybe i just read too much academia shit. but i dunno man. theres not a lot you can say about like a big huge)#(topic with multiple angles if you only have like 10 minutes. maybe i just talk too slow. i need to breath <3 )#theres other formats too. surveys. retrospectives. informative essays. persuasive essays. etc #and like i also read lots of reviews not just of like movies and books but of like gallery exhibitions and shit!! they can be extremely #interesting a lot of work and some really beautiful writing!! nothing wrong with a review!!! theyre important #but i do get annoyed with like. the odd air of pretention i see in a lot of video essays. especially cause its usually not backed up by #the content. i dont care for those airs in academia either. nor do i like it in documentaries #just talk naturally. you'll find your voice. there might be pretention in it in the end but it'll be yours #if im making sense. i hear a lot of people talking in a pretention that is not their own. something they put on because thats what they #think they should do. you need to find your own pretention. be pretentious in a way that feels natural to youuuuuu #hell im being pretentious. about this LOL but like its my own. it is a pretentiousness ive built over the past half decade #play around. write a blog. i dunno. find your voice dear youtubers. find your voice

Nope! You're the first one to ask! And I am happy to answer!

I think what would fluster Alastor would be based more on nostalgia and interests than attraction and good looks. I think if someone were to have an active interest in the things he enjoys, and went out of their way to learn about them it would fluster him.

For example:

Lucifer flustering Alastor by wearing a flapper dress? Nope.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by singing one of his favorite jazz songs? Yes.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by wearing a super revealing, low cut outfit and sprawling seductively across a couch? Nope.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by winning him all the cursed furbies at LuLu World because he knows about Alastor's furbie obsession? Yes.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by sexual or seductive means? Nope.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by doing a radio broadcast for him using the technique's and equipment he's learned from Alastor and respecting the work that gets put into it? FUCK YES.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by learning how to make his favorite meal.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by actively incorporating New Orleans attributes in the hotel to make it seem more like home.

Lucifer flustering Alastor by acts of service and putting thought and effort into the things he likes and taking an active interest in them.

Basing these on my own ace experiences, I can say, personally, that the only times I can think of where I felt most flustered was when people took active interest in what I liked and went out of their way to engage with it.

I've never felt flustered by anything anyone has worn or how pretty or sexy they looked. I notice it. I enjoy seeing the aesthetic and attraction of it. But it has never flustered me by any means, and that's what I relate to Alastor as well. I don't think someone looking or acting super sexy would catch him off guard, I mean, this is Hell and he DOES live with Angel Dust, afterall.

But if someone were to really take interest in him, his hobbies, and his life, I think that would do a lot more to him.

Yadda yadda yadda jinx is generally seen as a loose canon, does whatever she wants type of character, totally unpredictable. When in actuality, up until the last few episodes all of her choices and actions r motivated by wanting to please someone else. Hell. Even in the last couple episodes, the very Last thing we see her doing is ENTIRELY MOTIVATED by devotion and love and grief for silco, she’s taking out her frustration at herself and the world, and also honoring his wishes and dreams. By shooting a fucking bomb at piltover, she’s ensuring his life wasn’t in vain, she’s honoring him. In that moment

Her entire, self!!! is centered around love and loyalty. Is centered around other people, She’s motivated by an insatiable urge to prove herself, to be useful to those she loves, to show that she can help them and be there for them and be WORTHY of there love. That they haven’t made a mistake in loving her. To prove that she can be as pivotal to them as they r for her. She goes to the ends of the fucking earth to do this. And it ends. Terribly.

She puts the people she loves on pedestals and supplicates at there feet, she has no motivations most of the show outside of making the people she loves happy… she yearns for connection and love and safety. For a home that will never leave her behind, or crumble under her feet, (an indestructible home, That she can’t destroy just by being her…)

Which is why.. it’s so. Interesting and intriguing. How now, she has no one on that pedestal to worship, no one to drag sacrifices and offerings to the feet of, no one to spiral around and build herself off of. She is a person so *affected* by her relationships w others, but there is no relationship now, no one is stepping up to the plate to love her. She’s too much. For anyone. The one person who seemed to have unlimited patience for her is dead, because of her. and maybe vi could still love her.. but. She’s already soured that relationship. Already broken that one too. Broken all her favorite toys that made her so happy. That were there for her. And scared all the rest away. (There is a limit to what vi can support and forgive to reconnect w her sister. And I believe terrorism is crossing that limit ghgh)

And maybe, jinx is cutting that part of herself out on purpose. To be stronger, she’s realized she just. Isn’t made for love. That she ruins it all in the end. That it just makes everything worse. Messier. More complicated. She’s better off on her own, but for what PURPOSE! Who will she be now! What choices will she make!?! Almost all of her actions in the show were for others, what is driving her now, now that she has this gaping void at the center of her being. Where love used to be… what kind of person will she become, Without a guide to follow… a sun to orbit around. it’s sad honestly ghghg-!!! like yeah it’s not healthy that she is this way but there’s no THERAPY IN ARCANE. THIS IS THE WAY SHE IS! And now. She’s alone… it’s rough. But also intriguing…!! And I honestly have no clue how she’s gonna act in season 2,,, or what sorta shit she’s gonna get up to. but I’m excited.

You guys really need to be kinder to bugs and some of you guys with children really need to teach them empathy for the bugs as well

#sure theyre scary but a lot of them are legitimately so harmless to you #and just waving them off works #or picking them up with a paper and a cup and putting them elsewhere #idk man. im really tired of people being needlessly cruel to them #or acting quirky by saying 'well im gonna kill them anyway i hate them 🤪' congratulations on being insufferable #thunderclap #you really cannot be someone who talks about being gentle and kind and supportive and all that shit if your kindness does not extend #to other creatures. bugs included.
