hi sry this is a lil long but i just felt like giving my own comments about ur post re: feeling left out/regarding more detailed work, and wanted to say that your work singlehandedly has inspired me SO much to the point that because of your more simplistic coloring/shading and focus on movement/body language, i was finally able to find a coloring/rendering style that i actually like aesthecially and enjoy doing! i've struggled w replicating color in a way i like digitally for over 6 years but your work, and especially so your sketchbook scans on patreon have been so useful for inspiration and for my own understanding of anatomy and what not. we're always our own worst critics with comparison and whatnot, but please know that your work and your style are a huge accomplishment and skill in their own right, and your comics inspire me to keep studying so i can one day make my own!!! i'm so thankful you share your work with us and to have come across it and be able to draw inspiration off it! your colors, expressions, and the palpable intimacy and dynamic character interactions are so amazing and specifically unique to your work, never doubt the impact it has just because of other's having a different style or approach or something <3

This is so extremely nice I don't even know what to say!!! I honestly feel so hyped that my style inspired someone else, I feel like it's not something I expected and its SO COOL. I sometimes feel like my style isn't particularly STYLISH you know, I often admire really strong punchy styles, so it's nice to hear my own kind of chiller style is inspiring! And that the things I enjoy come across as strengths, too! Also I am so happy to hear someone enjoys my sketchbooks haha, they're really precious to me but I also try not to be too fussy about my art in them which means it's not 'beautiful'*- they're for studying and/or chilling out, so it's SO nice that it's inspiring nonetheless! Wishing you the best in your art journey and also I think if you want to make comics you should just give it a go! Make teeny tiny comics! [it does not have to be good] [tangent oh my god] I feel very hypocritical because for the longest time comics were something my friends made and I didn't know how to, and I felt like my style didn't work for comics, but honestly when I eventually sat down and started a long comic the style happened out of necessity, I Had to simplify or I wouldn't be able to keep up. And you can see from the links that I just did sketchy comics before and that was fine! I think it was just as valuable as making polished pages. I actually probably ended up making comics For Real because I made a silly fandom ask blog, where I kept wanting to say more than I could do in one image, and that gave me the confidence to try something longer with OC's.

Listen, I am 100% on board with the concept of Link and Zelda living together. The thing is, I headcanon Link as an ace neurodivergent gremlin running around with a sword (because it just feels right to me) and Zelda as having a similar brand of brain soup as him—so my concept of them living together is kind of uhhhhhh specific?

I mean, I like to imagine it starts with Zelda just coming over to Link’s house to work on research while he’s learning new cooking techniques or something so they can body-double each other. Then it gets late and Zelda crashes for the night because she knows Link feels safe around her and she feels safe around him, and anyway they just like being in each other’s presence. And in the morning Zelda wakes up and Link’s already outside climbing trees or fishing or something. (He was going to make breakfast for her but remembered that Zelda mentioned at some point that she dislikes eating too early in the morning, but he made her a snack just in case.)

Then Link says he’s going out to the nearby forest later to gather some mushrooms (because some lady in town said wanted them for inspiration but was too busy to make the trip herself) and asks if Zelda wants to come with him. He says maybe they’ll find some frogs because he knows Zelda really likes frogs. Link does these sorts of odd jobs a lot and Zelda almost always tags along, except sometimes he’ll say he’s going to visit the dragons or go check up on the goddess statues or visit Oaki out in Korok Forest. He just needs to stretch his legs, maybe scale a mountain. He’d love it if she came with, but he gives her the option since he might be gone for a few days (and he offers to get one of their friends to stay with her for her safety). He tells Zelda that she’s welcome to use the house while he’s out. Whenever Zelda opts to stay at the house, Link brings back something random he found because he thought it was neat and wanted to share it with her. 

This goes on for a while, and then one day Zelda realizes that the sign says “Zelda’s House” instead of “Link’s House.” She asks Link about it, and he tells her that he just thought it would be funny since she spends more time at the house than he does. (He actually changed it several weeks ago and Zelda just hadn’t noticed.) 

Some time later, someone happens to ask them about it. 

They both look at each other, and Zelda goes, “I completely forgot you did that.”

Chapter 2 has finally concluded! A whole 8 pages longer than the first!! Woo!! I have a feeling they may just get longer as we get more into the story haha. Oh well! Like last time, I'll be taking a break between chapters to rest a little, get the plot points for the next chapter more polished, and try to get a solid backlog of pages ready. Going to take about of month off- POSSIBLY a month and a half? Depends on how well prepping the chapter goes (I have doomed myself by setting it in ancient Ecruteak City and am not as familiar with classic Japanese architecture as I would like hahaha- time to find some refs and do a bunch of studies!). Either way- it will be back in mid-late November! That DOESN'T mean that the comic feed will be quiet though! Like last time, there's a between chapter Interlude page that will be going up on October 11th! And after that, I plan to post some behind the scenes development stuff on days that the comic would normally update- so if folks want to they can get a look at how I put this together. If folks are interested, I could also open up the ask box for a little while? Do a bit of Q&A for comic related things (I won't be answering anything too spoilery, but you're welcome to ask!). And since it has been asked for (and rightfully so, this thing is getting long and difficult to navigate) I've compiled a pinned masterpost to make navigation easier for folks on mobile. There's been an Index Page set up for the web version since the beginning- unfortunately it's hard to get to normally on mobile, so a lot of folks didn't have an easy way to thumb through pages, and that's no good! So- fixed! I'm also in the process of going back and putting "Prev", "Next", "Read from the Beginning", and "Latest" links on each page update. Which honestly I SHOULD have been doing from the start, but hey- live and learn I suppose? Also ALSO am going to see about getting the Neocities page for the comic that I started months ago more finished so it has its own home away from Social Media- but that's a bit lower priority at the moment haha.

But yeah! Honestly, thank you all so much for reading! The response to this silly little passion project has honestly blown me out of the water, I can't believe how many people are keeping up with it now. :'D I love love LOVE reading reactions and speculation in the comments and tags! i DO think laios is "autism creature" autistic. I think he's actually a great example of that. Most of the time i see the autism creature associated with special interests and hyperfixations and there's no way you could argue that's not a trait he has, it's a major plotnpoint that drives the story forward along with his other motivation. Something I also see a lot is the austism creature being used as an example of cluelessness, because of its expression. How are you gonna point to his social awkwardness, the fact that he's literally completely clueless about making people uncomfortable unless it's explicitly stated to him, and say he doesn't fit that description. I'n not sure what "tumblr" autism is supposed to mean, the person was probably talking about the more palatable traits people discuss more openly, but do you really think people aren't socially awkward in this webbed site?

i saw a rlly good post reacting to someone else's rotten take, unfortunately at the time i was too tired to read the full post and i ended up losing it, so i don't remember what all it said but basically the rotten take was calling laios creepy (in a "funny haha way" to disguise it) due to his traits, and op of the post i saw was explaining how that's fucked up. I think from what I skimmed it was very personal, comparing their own experiences to laios and honestly that might be my favorite thing about him. He doesn't just have the "palatable" traits that people are comfortable seeing. He is clueless, he had no idea someone disliked him, he even thought they were close friends, because that person never let him know when he was crossing a boundary until it was too much. Soon after this almost the opposite happens, where he doesn't believe someone else wants to be his friend, because now he's aware that he can't pick up on social cues, and he also knows he caused this person discomfort before, so why would they want to be his friend? He's "messy" in that he has a lot of traits people like to avoid when talking about autism, because it's stuff neurotypicals don't like.

He's literally that kid who people would be like "oh well if i knew he was autistic i wouldn't have treated him badly" (which is stupid, you should treat people well in general and not be an asshole then apologize because someone is actually neurodivergent or mentally ill). And guess what? He has friends who love him. They know he's awkward and clueless and has "weird" interests and they still love him. He has people who will stand up for him even after coming to the conclusion that he's "a little creepy" because they know he's a good person, and they like his honesty. Someone explicitly admits they envy his ability to be so openly himself, even after that same person tried to frame that trait as a bad thing, because they realized what they hated wasn't laios honesty but the fact that laios is able to act that way, while most people feel trapped by social rules and don't have that same freedom to be themselves. Laios can be himself not because society accepts him, in fact the first assumption when the elves learn he likes monsters is that he must be prone to evil. Because that's weird and creepy. Society does not accept him. His friends do. His sister does, she loves him and looks up to him as an adult as much as she did as a child. He has a support system. He is loved. Even people who don't necssarily love him know he could never become evil, even if they also think his special interest is a bit creepy. Because they know laios, actually know him, and they know that in his awkwardness he's still a kind person. He misses a lot of social cues, sometimes he says things that are tone deaf without realizing at all, and his friends know he means no harm. He just struggles with these things.

I think laios is a very good example of how nobody is unlovable, regardless of how awkward or clueless you might be, even if your special interest is something perceived as creepy. To me Laios is a reminder for anyone who needs to hear it that you are deserving of love too. Maybe you just beed to find a better support system, and that might take a while, but there's people who will love you the way you are, and accept you the way you are

I love their dynamic and how they stand opposed to each other. It's not that one of them is "good" and the other is "evil." Dazai is not good. Fyodor believes that humanity is sinful and foolish. Dazai does not disagree with him. He does not think humanity is good or that the world is a good place. Dazai is amoral; he is not Kunikida, an idealist pursuing justice, and he is not kind-hearted Atsushi.

Really the difference between Dazai and Fyodor is their opposing views of how the world works and should work. Fyodor wants order, perfect justice. Dazai does not believe such a thing exists. It's not that Dazai has hope where Fyodor does not; it's just that Dazai has accepted the world for all its darkness, and Fyodor has not.

And Fyodor does not believe there is any value to life. Dazai is starting to believe there is.

That's such an interesting and multilayered conflict that could be explored in so many different ways...especially if you do what I do and headcanon a redemption arc for Fyodor, haha. They are a lot of fun to write fics of! 😆

So I was watching some TOS (City on the Edge of Forever) and I'd totally forgotten that cordrazine (or "cordrUzine", as it was apparently spelled back then) was basically the "saves your life in small doses, makes you yeet yourself through the time portal to change history in larger ones" drug?? Two "drops" saves Sulu, yet when Bones is injected with "a hundred times that amount" everyone is terrified and clueless as to what will happen next- which is funny because he ends up pretty much getting better by himself. And Kirk talks about cordrazine (even just two drops) like it's this experimental and dangerous thing too, yet by the 24th century it seems to be a commonly-used stimulant- so if it is the same drug, I'm guessing they refined it at some point? Idkkk I'm just trying to refine my own cordrazine headcanons now haha! I seem to remember Beverly using it to resuscitate people left right and centre, so I'm guessing she administers lower doses (though in one episode she definitely injects Worf with "tricordrazine"- you know it's serious when the CMO gets out the tricordrazine!!) But on DS9 and VOY I feel like it was more "extreme situations only", like Bareil dying, or Julian's telepathic coma, or Harry Kim dying, or Janeway's telepathic coma, or Sloan dying, or B'Elanna's telepathic coma... though ofc I could be remembering everything wrong. I don't even really know what my point is here. Well, first of all thank you for this ask - I have opinions about cordrazine & I am always happy to get an opportunity to talk about this marvel of a pharmaceutical drug. I actually never really made a post about why my URL is what it is & about why cordrazine is an amazing drug that everybody should have in their first aid kit. (I'm kidding, I'm kidding.)

As you pointed out, the medical uses of cordrazine are plenty and Federation laboratories seem to have refined the dosage between the TOS-era & the 24th century (or at least, they now know for sure what happens to you if you inject yourself with an entire jerrican of it, & that it's crucial to uh. Not do that). Reviving someone (from general unconsciousness; the causes of said unconsciousness are irrelevant) & not sure what cartridge to slip into your hypospray? We've got you covered - it's always cordrazine. & if it isn't, a shot of cordrazine won't hurt. Trying to "stabilize" a patient regardless of diagnosis? Cordrazine's your best bet. Is your Teplan patient in excruciating pain? You guessed it! Cordrazine again. From 2ccs to fifty milligrams, there are so many dosages to choose from & you can always try to use a cortical stimulator alongside cordrazine to get the maximum effect. Honestly - at this point, if you're in Starfleet & you HAVEN'T been injected with cordrazine at least once, then you're doing something wrong.

You mentioned tricordrazine - I love that one, because according to memory alpha it's also an anti-seizure medication. Cordrazine & its derived medications are the strongest, bestest medications because they can be used for so many things. Why do they even have other drugs on star trek if you can just tinker around with cordrazine & turn it into anything you like? That, I think, is the real injustice on star trek. We never got to see cordrazine's full potential. What else could this incredibly potent, life-saving, frenzy-inducing drug have become? An anaesthetic? A blood-pressure regulator? A drug that accelerates the blood production & renders emergency transfusions obsolete? (In any case I like to think that Guinan has a cocktail called "Cordrazine" which she sells without the frenzy-inducing ingredient in Ten Forward, but which she also sold to Quark, who sells it WITH that ingredient until he is banned from doing so.)

Cordrazine seems to be a staple of 24th century medkits & I think it's fun that this is one of the drugs they picked for that - the callback to TOS is really cool. I saw DS9 & TNG before I saw "The City on the Edge of Forever" & I think I giggled excitingly when I realised that this was going to be a cordrazine-centric episode - & then even more when I realised that this is where cordrazine comes from! & that this means that there would be extensive scholarship & studies about the development of the drug over the centuries. Also I would love - LOVE - to know what the mass-produced packaging for cordrazine looks like. What colour is it? How many cartridges do they sell in one pack? Do you need a special prescription for restricted substances to get it at the pharmacy? (I may or may not be writing down "Write the package leaflet for cordrazine" into my fic ideas doc as we speak.)

I'm sure I have more opinions & ideas about cordrazine but this is all I can come up with right now. Star trek medicine is hilarious/fascinating & so are their drugs & the way they use them. I'd start a list of my favourite things about trek medicine but it would be so, so long because it's all so, so funny. Anyway, thanks for this ask & don't forget to administer 2 to 4 ccs of cordrazine in case of heart failure, coma or death!

though im also critical of it, ragnarok is one of my favs especially cus it endeared me with brodinson interactions (shoutout elevator scene) but after that, i didnt like future loki portrayals. it somewhat flipped loki's aspirations, although i liked how he really seemed a god of mischief i wished for more digging into that. if i said "country boys make do" and did what what i could, then i look at loki betraying thor once more as his warped way of saying "we've come to deeper understanding of e/o more and idk how to be your brother but i want to, this is all i know." personally, i liked loki's personality shining in ragnarok. but like this time tom hiddleston said "loki should be an entertaining character but also that there should be a shred of truth" thats how i feel. about all future loki. i think they saw the numbers that loki did in ragnarok, and then on fucked up portraying him, and his depth

personally, during my initial mcu watch, i did actually kind of enjoy ragnarok. although i did realize it’s issues such as pretty much everyone’s characterization (but especially loki’s), the way odin’s death was… Not as serious as it should’ve been, the way everything was too Haha funny joke, korg, the racist thor/bruce joke (which i will actually make a post about eventually), etc…

i did think it was a fun movie. it wasn’t until i rewatched it for a second time, after rewatching the thor movies/avengers 2012 that i realized.. yeah, this isn’t really that good and the earlier movies featuring thor, loki, or asgardians in general really were better.

personally, i prefer the humorous side of loki’s personality more in the dark world over the one in ragnarok. he was being funny and joking around, but it didn’t feel forced. it still felt like loki. in ragnarok, to me at least, it felt very forced and off for loki’s character. in the dark world, they didn’t necessarily have to belittle loki’s character and make him the laughing stock of the movie to make him funny. in ragnarok, they did.

and of course we see that continue a thousand times worse in the s*ries.

you are so right about the popularized character traits point. it’s like when people gossip about something, and as the word gets out to more people, it loses context and only leaves the very basic details of the gossip in the first place. that’s what they did with loki, pretty much. but that a thousand times over if this analogy even makes sense.

honestly do not even bother watching season 2 if you already know about the ending. i actually do think it was a little better than the first season. it was a little more interesting as well. but loki’s characterization was still HORRIFIC. there’s this interrogation type scene with one of the newer characters, this guy who works at the tva, and i guess they tried to make loki seem as though he’s still mischievous and working on his own accord instead of a goody two-shoes, pushover or whatever. idk man. whatever it was, it didn’t work.

and also they put this scene where he’s basically crying over mobius and various other tva workers to sylvie saying that he misses his friends (the friends in question being mobius and the most random tva workers ever) ??? 😭😭😭 i really do not believe that his ass was that devastated over these random ass characters who did not care about him…

basically, his personality was still more that of a silly little english man (not in a good way, trust me.) who works in a cubicle rather than a literal god/prince who speaks very eloquently and in old english. (taking this as an opportunity to say that i miss the old english/shakespeare in the park-esque way he and thor used to speak 😔 it was so fun.)

Observations: I'd say that, as a rule, I'm a sucker for a one-liner haha! But honestly, I tend to not overthink my first lines that much. They're a means to an end for me, just to get something on the page and get into the story. First lines can be really fun though - they definitely set the mood and honestly it can just take a single word to make them stand out, yknow? Like here, I think that the one for 'a god, a devil' is possibly the strongest. Just the 'a spectre' is really nice, I think. The rest are just like, eh, they exist hahah. They tend to either be establishing lines or setting the emotional tone. I do try and get some character voice in there though, sometimes - I guess it depends on the fic!

I hate spamming you... But I only see your blog recently, and I have so much things to say. Ao3 and Twitter are not better, so I think I should just use Tumblr. I really love Digimon, but sometimes, there are problems that continually crop up throughout the length of the Digimon franchise (even in the realm of characters and relationships, which is what Digimon does best). What problems do you think is the most serious? May you keep your blog wonderful like this.

I haven't had a lot of free time lately, but I would definitely say Tumblr is the best place to ask this kind of thing because the other places are too short-form, haha. Thank you for stopping by!

Uh, well...I honestly don't think I can answer this question because the word "problems" is so wide-spanning and subjective. Firstly, there'd be the question of what problems we're even talking about (Writing technical issues? "Problematic" content?), but even if we did define that, that kind of issue is so subjective that I can't tell you what's the most serious or critically in need of addressing or what. What's problematic for one person can be validating for another. People and society are multifaceted, and even if there are things I could say "it could have been done better," I can't say I would completely invalidate it because perhaps someone has their own way of life that relates to it. And so on and so forth.

Even in terms of writing technicals, I've often said on this blog that the parts about 02 that can make it frustrating or messy are also what makes it unique. For instance, you could say it's overloaded/weirdly paced and is terrible at communicating its themes upfront, but because of that, it has way more depth than you could expect a 50-episode anime to have and goes into territory you wouldn't see in most series. I don't think I'd trade in those factors for anything else, because I've accepted that Objectively Perfect media doesn't (and shouldn't) exist anyway. Fiction is about emotion and feelings, and by nature the imperfection of it is a necessary factor to reflect the imperfection of emotion and feelings.

I'm sure everyone has their own answer to this question (and I'm sure everyone wants to list off their own gripes, but please say that in your own space instead of reblogging this post with them because I don't want to have to go through a ton of trash-talking just to get through my notifications), but me personally, if I had to think of something glaring and serious that needs addressing right now, I'm not sure if I could come up with something immediate, and even little things here and there like "please be a bit more conscientious about how you portray your girls" are vague blanket statements that will have different meanings depending on the Digimon work to the extent I don't think it's something I can reduce to a single answer. So I know it sounds like a cop-out, but I think my honest answer really is "it's way more complicated than that."

Yeah its wild. I would love for him (with Misha's help) to write a tell all book one day.

I feel like jackles has been a far better actor than we all gave him credit for. He has always been very switched on to fandom, he knew about the warring sides, the hate and the bullshit, and I reckon he was being told for years by his bosses to always keep all sides of fandom happy and to play his damn role at all times (ironically just like how Chuck ordered Dean to play his role - life imitates art too often in this fucking show its almost scary). Hence why he's insights into Dean often came across contradictory and odd. Sometimes he had beautiful accurate insights which make total sense, and other times (usually in j2 panels) he'd regress back to the "haha dean just likes guns and girls like a macho man should".

We will never truly know what went on behind the scenes following the moment j2m announced s15 was the end (unless jackles writes that book) so its hard to truly speculate when jackles decided to take things into his own hands, but I also believe it was around about the time they planned the finale and everyone was kissing jarpiss's asshole and jackles was left in the cold to stare down a shitty death scene he didnt agree with. Going to kripke was prob the final straw for him.

He was gaslit into thinking that ending was okay, and whenever he tried to question it he was told to sit down shut up and do what he was told, all the while watching his manchild tantrum throwing drama queen of a costar get his dick sucked by the entire production team for coughing a few times and puffing out his chest and singing the praises of a finale that pushed the spotlight firmly on him and his cop propaganda show.

So yeah, jackles was done dirty, and so he became That Bitch and started making plans. He had the production company set up only days after the finale aired, turned off his social media and refused to be involved in any spn finale celebratory CW PR (absolute King Shit)

I think he started making calls before they even finished filming. Dean wasnt even cold on the ground before The Winchesters had been dreamed up as a way to bring him back. Jackles rare few post finale SM posts all alluded to Dean returning again. He knew what he was doing.

At the same time he was ghosting the manchild, and planning to move his family to Colorado to get away from him. After SPN finally wrapped in mid 2020, him and Jarpiss went their separate ways. They barely spoke after that. Jackles was setting in motion all his plans to fix everything that he considered a personal afront to him (because he is absolutely deranged and literally possessed by the ghost of Dean Winchester) and those plans certainly involve fixing the ending somehow - in a way that isnt obvious no doubt, because he still has to be careful and at least pretend like he respects the ending and his egotistical douchebag of a costar (though he hasn't been doing a very good job of either tbh!)

Thats all my speculation anyway. Holding out for that tell all book jackles!

Like, I would kill for a story where post-Court of Owls reveal, once he learns about them and their plans for Dick, Bruce becomes OBSESSED with conducting a secret, off-the-books investigation he doesn’t tell any of the Batfam about.....where he’s like, committed to unearthing every single member of the Court no matter what, just so he knows for sure who they ARE, that he can identify them as an enemy. Because he’s like, Bruce, so he can’t help but feel guilt-ridden that there was this whole epic threat to Dick the ENTIRE TIME he was raising Dick, and Bruce never had a clue....and the only way Bruce can feel Dick is safe, that he can feel he’s ‘made up for not somehow sensing this threat’ like he should have just somehow KNOWN....is for Bruce to be able to be confident he’s ferreted out every last member, and even if he can’t expose them publicly, at least he’ll KNOW that they’re not safe for Dick to be around.

But he can’t just like, TELL his family what he’s doing, oh no. Then he’d have to have The Feelings talk about how guilty he feels and why, and whether he should, and they’d be all like ‘B, you’re being ridiculous, you can’t be responsible for just not knowing everything’ and he’d have to be all like HAHAHA BET? And then they’d make it about his EGO and his pride and he’d be like omg no, this is about Dick’s SAFETY, DUH, and all of that just sounds exhausting and would take away from Important ‘Could Be Making My Son Safer’ Time, so its best to just skip all that by lying to his family and keeping secrets from them, even the one he’s specifically trying to protect with all this.

Like. Its just Logical, honestly.

Why so many people in his life hate Logic, Bruce will never understand. But that’s a problem for another day.

BUT.

MEANWHILE.

The irony is that Dick Grayson is absolutely his father’s son, so the whole time Bruce has been conducting his own top secret investigation entitled UNEARTH EVERY LAST ONE OF THE FUCK FERRETS WHO THINKS THEY’RE GONNA WINTER SOLDIER MY KID, Dick’s conducting his OWN identical investigation for the exact same reasons.....he just has to know who they are, y’know? For his own peace of mind. He’ll never feel safe or comfortable at another gala - and he can’t just, avoid them for the rest of his life, not without putting distance between himself and his family that he’s not willing to do, ESPECIALLY not BECAUSE of some douchebag fuck ferrets like the Court of A-Holes......like, he’ll never feel okay at one of those events again unless he can be sure he at least KNOWS who to stay away from, who to watch his back around.

And then Bruce and Dick stumble across each other in the midst of their ongoing, parallel investigations, and they make like that meme of the two Spider-Mans pointing at each other like WHO ARE YOU AND WHY ARE YOU HERE DRESSED THE SAME WAY AND DOING THE SAME THING AS ME, HOW DARE, I’M AN ORIGINAL.

And then like, the rest of the Batfam peeks out from where they’re hiding behind the curtains or under the desk in one of the Owls’ super secret hidden office, and everyone’s like haha wow, weird, fancy seeing you guys all here. We’re definitely not all doing the same thing for the exact same reasons, that would be so weird. It might imply that despite our epic dysfunction, we’re actually like, an actual family of like-minded individuals who all care about each other and are uncannily in sync when we’re not busy yelling about how we’re totally different and would never be like our siblings or parent ever, on account of they’re the worst.

i feel like starting some shit so im just gonna come out and say it. the way devsisters treats m/m relationships (and honestly? any kind of straightn’t relationship) is really starting to bug me

its not at a point where i feel comfortable calling it “queerbaiting” but by god it is getting close. i was already iffy on the way they treated espresseleine (remember the valentines day post? i try not to) but the way wildberry and crunchy chip were written in odyssey and ESPECIALLY odyssey chapter three really sealed the deal for me in terms of, yeah, theyre pandering to fujoshis here. it hasnt been long since odyssey ended but i have a gut feeling that wildberry and crunchy arent gonna show up again for a long time, if ever. which when you consider how often they dipped their toes into “hohohoehoho oh man isnt this kinda gay? aint this kinda fruity” territory (the scene where wildberry carries him. they absolutely knew what they were doing) without ever doing anything that implies any kind of unambiguous romantic attraction between them started to feel really skeevy the longer it went on. like, haha, look at these two guys being stupid and gay together. too bad you’re probably never gonna see them again and we’re never gonna elaborate beyond that lol :) i could be proven wrong but i’d be genuinely surprised if i was.

and thats not even getting into how they have a tendency to use same sex crushes for comedic purposes. theres milk cookies crush on dark choco which, at this point, can NOT be interpreted as anything other than romantic. and while not a m/m example, pomegranate’s in a similar situation where they’ve done everything to imply she has some kind of psychosexual obsession with dark enchantress cookie that isn’t just making her say “man i sure do wanna fuck my boss” in the game itself. thankfully sea fairy and moonlight’s relationship hasn’t been used to tease fans or played for laughs, but that should be the standard, not the exception. 

it’s important to mention that cookie run generally hasn’t dabbled in any kind of explicit romantic relationships between its characters until recently, mint choco and cocoa cookie’s relationship is the first time they’ve shown it so openly and even then, they aren’t officially dating. but still, their relationship is played completely seriously, while gay ships, m/m ships especially, have to linger in some weird state of either being used for comedic effect, or used to tease fans who start foaming at the mouth uncontrollably when two men have any interaction that could be interpreted as even SLIGHTLY homoerotic.

i dunno man, just. let two men have a relationship on the same level as mint choco and cocoa’s without it being played for goofs. stop using pomegranate cookie’s unhealthy obsession with a woman who it’s heavily implied is manipulating her for “haha shes a SIMP” jokes. i know its a little dumb of me to expect good lgbt representation from a gacha game owned by a big company but they’ve done a good job with handling things like nonbinary characters and AGAIN we have sea fairy and moonlight proving they can do it at least somewhat decently and. im tired
