the thing that really grinds my goat is when people who haven't known you that long decided your gender & pronouns without asking, and then when you correct them they're like "oh it's so difficult for me :(" you haven't known me for five minutes how are you having difficulty? would you say the same thing if I said "actually everyone calls me [nickname]" I bet you wouldn't but because you assigned me a gender you are apparently incapable of erasing that from your head?

Grey colours, the Forgers as she first met them having their backs at her with empty, disappointed faces, vs bright, warm colours, the Forgers as she now knows them facing her directly and smiling at her.

She starts the story feeling like an outcast, fearing that no-one, not even her brother, will accept her as she is. That people will turn their back on her, and her life will continue being colourless and lonely.

Then her life fills with colour, with people who will face her head-on and accept her. She develops into confidence that the Forgers care for her and is reminded that even if she ever has to leave because of her job, the knowledge that she protects innocent people...

and that this work of hers will be acknowledged...

In my head Dehya is Kheanriahn (no I won't explain I simply know this to be true in my heart) and given they're (Kaeya, Dehya, Arlecchino) all similar in age it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out they were all part of a larger scheme and arlecchino is the only one trying to follow through.

Like imagine kaeya's dad just trying to plant these kids in strategic positions so they'll have the opportunity to fell archons and he loses one in the desert and another gets pulled into a death tournament with almost no chance of survival. So he turns to his own kid like "you're the last hope" ...

Only for him to get really attached to his new family and basically opt out of any scheme he didn't come up with himself.

Ok, but the current Rise turtles family tree it's really funny because its so wacky they are

The descendants of the Hamato Clan, a clan with a mystic art passed through generations powerful enough to stop the Shredder from terrorizing Japan

The sons of Lou Jitsu/Hamato Yoshi an action movie star famous enough for people to have all kinds of merch, AND was also a powerful Battle Nexus Champion good enough for Draxum (who hated humans) to want to use his dna for his soldiers. So he was big with humans and yokai.

Draxum was like, well off? He had like a castle before they burned his lab. And was important enough to be able to talk with the Council of heads. Is he an actual Baron? What's his deal? Anyway, since the turtles are his kids, are they related to yokai nobility?

Now, they actually have two other siblings in Piebald and Sloppy Joseph. A goldfish mutant and a pile of sentient meat.

And the missing sisters, we have confirmation that one of them is Big Mama's assistant and the other one is trapped in another dimension. (I will never forgive being robbed of Frida Hamato honestly)

The Shredder is their grandpa and it just sounds so funny. But the way it works here is that they can summon the souls of past Hamatos. Can you imagine the boys inviting Gram gram Karai to thanksgiving or something and having her interact with Casey. Or they talking with Saki in a very awkward family dinner.

Let's not forget our favorite time traveler boy

And the little floating AI who is like a son to Donnie

And Todd, their funny uncle who somehow got accepted into the fam.

What I'm saying is that, this is Addams family level of wacky and we deserved to explore more of them and what does it mean for the turtles.

⌞ notes. — I wrote this a long while ago but I'm itching to share content of these two.. I love them so so dearly :(( ⌝

Frostedleaf was sitting under a tree in his front yard with a book in his hands, tuning out everything around him. Suddenly, he was pulled out of his trance to his name being called and he looked up to see his brunette friend, Rosemary. “Really, Frostedleaf? You have your nose buried in that book again?” she teased as she sat beside him. Frostedleaf glanced away, his cheeks flushing a little red from embarrassment as he took off his reading glasses.

“So what? I like it,” he defended himself as he straightened his posture and gently closed his book. He had his chest puffed out slightly and Rosemary laughed affectionately at his actions.

“I was only teasing,” she said with a playful hit to Frostedleafs shoulder and he groaned slightly, standing up.

“Whatever Rosemary,” he said fondly as he reached down to offer his friend a hand, and she gratefully took it with a smile. Frostedleaf pulled her up and looked down at her, being about 2 inches taller than her despite being younger. “So, I'm assuming you're here to go flower hunting?” He asked as he put his glasses away in his pocket and held his book in both hands. Rosemary nodded gleefully.

“You bet! Go inside and put that book away though, you won't need it,” she said with a gesture to the book Frostedleaf held in his hands.

“I will, but I'm bringing my flower book with me in case we come across a flower we haven't identified yet,” he answered as he took a step to his house but stumbled on a rock, almost falling. Rosemary was quick to be at his side if he did fall, this now being a subconscious action due to how much Frostedleaf fell and him being a little more on the fragile side. Rosemary let out a small sigh of relief when Frostedleaf stood up straight again.

“Frostedleaf, you scared the living daylights out of me, you idiot!” she scolded, crossing her arms and furrowing her eyebrows.

“Sorry..” he mumbled with a sheepish, toothy smile as he rubbed the back of his neck. The sound of the front door opening alerted the two teenagers and they looked over to see Daisy, one of Frostedleafs mothers, standing in the doorway. She instantly smiled at the sight of the brunette, her eyes practically shining.

“Rosemary!” she called as she stepped outside and ran over to hug her, Olga now standing in the doorway with a tired look and crossed arms. “Oh it's so good to see you again! Going flower hunting with my son I assume?” she asked cheerfully, pulling away from the hug but her hands now on Rosemary's shoulder.

“Mooom,” Frostedleaf whined, but said nothing more as Rosemary chuckled at the family's dynamic, hugging Daisy back before she pulled away and nodded at her question.

“Yes! We are, Frostedleaf was just about to go inside to put away his things,” she informed Daisy, Olga now beside Frostedleaf with her arms still crossed.

“Mother?” he called, Olga looking over.

“Hm?” she hummed, encouraging Frostedleaf to continue.

“Can Rosemary stay for dinner? I'm sure Stonehenge and Clover wouldn't mind, it happens a lot anyways,” he asked, looking up at his mother with pleading eyes and a beaming smile. Olga laughed a bit and shook her head.

“Of course she can stay, Frostedleaf, she gives someone else Daisy can bug,” she agreed as she looked at Daisy and Rosemary with a fondness in her gray-blue eyes. “Daisy! Frostedleaf asked if Rosemary could stay over for dinner,” she called out to the two Deerlings and Daisy enthusiastically nodded.

“Of course! If she wants to, you want to stay right, Rosemary?” she said rather fast-paced, but Rosemary nodded and Daisy happily cheered and dragged her into the house, Rosemary just following with an amused expression. Olga just let out a breath of laughter.

“Oh those two, they always keep you on your hooves, don't they?” she asked as her and Frostedleaf started to walk over to the house. Frostedleaf laughed a bit and nodded, letting his mother in first with a little polite bow of his head and went in after her, shutting the door gently behind him.

also re: transfemmes and gay men draw a sharp delineation between each other, i didn't mention this last night but it means a lot of like. Nonbinary people who are exploring gender as effeminacy are treated REALLY badly by both specifically if they can't ultimately be put in one group or the other, on top of usual effemiphobia. I've seen multiple nonbinary people get subject to brutal public harassment over this, including one person who publicly was like "i might be transfem, i might want to use she/her, I don't know yet, but being treated so badly by other trans people for existing where im at now isn't fucking helping me figure that out". Part of this isn't just about this particular community divide, it's also about how many LGBT people have the idea that someone's lived experiences can themselves be offensive, and that that person therefore harms the community by existing. With trans people in general, there are a lot of people uncomfortable with ambiguity in gender because of worries about how cis people perceive us. There is, again, a particular disgust applied to effeminacy on this front.
