I reblogged it earlier but I'm glad the Something Awful Forums 9/11 thread was archived because it's an incredibly important slice of internet history. For the record I think 9/11 was thousands of personal tragedies for the direct victims of the attacks but one big national farce that led to America's ongoing slide into fascism, and the nationalism and remembrance around it is a joke especially in the wake of the same amount of deaths every fucking day in the US during the height of coronavirus.

Nevertheless I think it's important that if you do not remember because you were too young or just didn't exist on Sept 11, 2001 to read the Something Awful 9/11 forums to get an idea of what the internet was like at the moment when America changed to 24 hour news cycles and renewed hyper-nationalism not seen since WWII.

This all happened before Twitter, Facebook, before Discord. Before smart phones. Before most people had cell phones. When a lot of people still had dial-up internet, even. Some people in the thread were relying on radio because internet and TV weren't keeping up.

It was a live event of internet denizens reacting to the biggest national event (and among the biggest international events) of the past 25 years. It was also a slice of what the internet was like at the turn of the millennium. Not only that, but people accurately calling out who was responsible, and what would result before the attacks even finished.

Keep in mind that the links that follow contain images of the event, lots of Islamophobia, people calling for the Middle East to be nuked, people blaming Palestine, casual racist and homophobic language (this was Something Awful after all), etc etc. They preserved the first 17 pages which spanned about 24 hours during the events. It's the origin of the "WATCH BUSH START A FUCKING WAR" screenshot.

Note the thread was preserved in Pacific Time even though the page says times are Eastern. That's incorrect. If someone sends you an ask asking for help in Gaza, look for vetting done by a real person (do NOT trust ones that simply claim they are vetted if you don’t SEE the vetting), and check that their gofundme address isn’t clearly publicly listed in some other place. Then reblog their post. And block writing-prompt-s or anyone else that runs actual genocide survivors off the platform with poorly researched scam accusations

so apparently the tumblr donation scam farms are moving in on Palestine; this includes both slapping basic phrases like "Free Palestine" into their blog headers, but also some of them go so far as to claim they are Palestinian refugees who need donations.

Here is your routine reminder that whenever you receive an ask in your inbox requesting donations, check their ass. 19 times out of 20 it'll be a brand new blog who reblogged a few posts to seem older than they are, is sending out spam asks to random blogs, and will be deleted in a few days once they've already scammed people.

Check their blog's age by trying to scroll to the bottom and checking the post timestamps. Turn on post timestamps by going to Settings > General Settings > Dashboard Preferences. On any device, you can also see when a post was made by clicking on the 3 dots at the top right of it. Scam blogs reblog an amount of posts to try to seem like they aren't brand new and pretend to have older accounts, and it’s very successful against people who don’t scroll down enough.

Check the location and area code of a PayPal link where/if it says something like country.x=xx. The xx will be a country code. Most tumblr donation scams are for some reason in the Philippines and will have the code PH. No I am not saying to distrust anyone in the Philippines who needs donations, but if a brand new blog is claiming to be a refugee in the Middle East but their PayPal link is from halfway across the world, then well...

Reverse-image search any of the images they use and find if it was stolen somewhere. Remember that these images are often edited to prevent people from easily doing this, and this is not reliable but can be an easy sign if successful

Be careful with blogs that request people send donations through "Friends and Family" on PayPal because you cannot refund money sent in this manner. This isn’t a dealbreaker as many regular users also request this to avoid fines, but is an addendum to scam blogs when enough other red flags are raised. It isn’t unusual for them to insist on receiving money through FaF to the point that some will refund money not sent through that manner to prevent accountability

Follow scam busting blogs like Kyra45 that might pull up evidence you otherwise would not have access to. I guess I'm going to start bringing back my habit of recording the exact paypal addresses that scam blogs use which has sometimes been the only evidence of a new donation blog being a scam, and no one would know this if I hadn't been tracking them

It is disgusting that people would take advantage of an ongoing genocide for their own gain. Please remember to keep an eye out for yourself and the people you follow reblogging suspicious donation posts trying to steal aid from people undergoing a tragedy

You thought nothing it, really. Partly because you’ve been too busy to think about it, but mostly because you assumed he wouldn’t care. After all, you still live with him — and you two see each other in the hallways every-so-often at midnight.

It never occurred to you that your dad will miss you, even when he still has everything keeping him occupied. "I miss you, too, you know."

There's a link to view a post on the user's custom blog theme—if they have a custom theme, and have their blog accessible to logged-out users, of course—as the first item in the ⋯ ("meatballs") menu. (This used to be the dog-ear corner at the top right corner of the post, if you remember that.)

Like any normal link, you can control/command click this menu item to open it in a new tab, or right click it to copy the link URL.

The header areas highlighted in green here—specifically their empty areas—are links directly to the individual reblogs they're the headers for. This is also true in the mobile apps!

You can control/command click them to open them in a new tab.

You can sort of right-click them to copy the link URL... but only if you have post timestamps turned on (it's in your tumblr settings in the dashboard section near the top), and only if you right click on the timestamp, or actually the dashed green area. (I wish this could be true for the whole header, but it's kind of hard for technical web browser limitation reasons.)

The above statements are true without XKit!

Now: by default, the areas highlighted in red and orange are links to the blogs in question. The "restore links to individual posts" option in Tweaks in XKit Rewritten (check out @addons!) does two things:

It changes the red-highlighted links to point directly to the reblog in question, just like their surrounding green area. This doesn't really add any functionality; you could already access that, as just discussed! Edit: I got this wrong; the reblog trail blog names should not be highlighted red.

It changes the orange-highlighted link to point to the immediately preceding reblog (i.e. the one "prev tags" refers to). This definitely does add functionality, since there was literally no way to step backward through the reblog chain otherwise!

For the record, what I would probably have done if I were Staff or if I had been the one to write the XKit Rewritten tweak without anyone else's input is:

Make the green-highlighted areas link to the reblog, as they currently already do.

Make the red-highlighted links point to the user blog, as they currently already do.

Make the orange-highlighted link, including the reblog icon, link to the immediately preceding reblog (i.e. the one "prev tags" refers to). That section is a different color than a blog link and has a special icon, after all; I think it's totally reasonable for it to have slightly different functionality.

In any case, it imo quite obviously should not be impossible to step back through the reblog chain, no matter what you think of the "prev tags" phenomena. Without an extension, there's no way to do this at all right now unless the post has very few notes and you can dig through them.

Some might argue for solving this by putting the a link to the previous reblog in the ⋯ menu. That would certainly be better than nothing, but I think using the orange-highlighted area is a better way. It's not like it's hard to get to a blog from an individual-post-viewed-on-that-blog, anyway.

Trying to dispel the accusations that I'm unfairly targeting GlobOfChaos for fic theft.

To make it brief, I’ve had issues w/ user GlobOfChaos since about a week after meeting them, but my intention was never to try and create a harassment campaign like was stated. I have a LOT of screenshots saved so I’ll be going thru the entire timeline, even w/ things that seem insignificant, to express why I feel the way I do about this user. If I don’t find something super important and it’s mainly here for context, title will be highlighted orange instead of red.

The Start

I’ll be transparent that from the get-go I never really got along with Globbo, mostly because about a week they joined Charlie’s Discord server, I noticed they had a tendency to talk over people. I was talked over repeatedly by them, and this was my main issue with them from the beginning of February to the end of March. However, I tried my best to be cordial with them, and I figured that they were just bad at reading the room, and I figured they weren’t trying to cause any deliberate harm by talking over people. I won’t give any screenshots of them talking over people here since it would be incredibly redundant and there’s a limited amount of pics I can put in a post, but I can provide them if needed in a separate post. TLDR it mostly boiled down to them interrupting either mid-conversation (about something else) or about 5 seconds after someone finished talking with their own headcanons. And again, this isn’t a Satan-level move. At most, just kind of annoying. Note that at this point I had not discussed with them the way they were making me feel.

Aftermath Of Peppermintpillz

Notice that I said the first time I had a real issue with Globbo was during late March. This is because, around that time, Peppermintpillz was harassing a ton of people in the fanbase, including myself. This isn’t about him, but for context, he had leaked my private NSFW tumblr blog, which included things like lewd images of me and extremely private details about my sex life to his public Instagram, where minors would have access to it. Obviously, this was pretty upsetting to me and I wanted to move on from it.

Globbo comes into play here because there was an incident where they were talking in Charlie’s server, very vaguely, about how “blocking doesn’t always work”. I had issues with Peppermintpillz block evading me by creating alt accounts and having her irl friend message me, so when Globbo said this, I was worried that Peppermintpillz had found another way to access my blogs. Thankfully this wasn’t the case but it kind of scared the shit out of me and I was frustrated with how vague they were being.

Notice the timestamps between each message. This was the main point of my frustration. I was having a full-on panic attack while trying to figure out if Peppermintpillz had shared more revenge porn of me or not, but it ended up being some drama in the classical music fandom.

Boundary Push #1

This requires additional context, that being that I have dissociative identity disorder and one of the two most frequent fronters in our system is an introject of Little Mac. If you don’t know what that means, dw, you can read the screenshots as I also explained what that means to Globbo. (This is Mac writing this rn, hi)

To sum up what happens in the screenshots, Globbo asks what I mean when I say I’m a Little Mac introject. I forget the exact context of this convo but I think I’d mentioned it earlier when I was upset abt something or other, they asked what it meant then, and I asked them to ask me when I wasn’t upset and I’d be happy to explain. I absolutely didn’t mind explaining to them either! I like getting to be open about my identity with people, and I remember feeling kinda happy that Globbo was making an effort to connect with me, when previously the whole thing had been one sided - me trying to be nice to them, but them talking over me as if I didn’t exist.

Then I just explain, and they ask why I got into Punch-Out and why I introjected Mac specifically, which are both entirely appropriate questions, although the first doesn’t really relate to the topic at hand. Also you’ll see in the screenshots that Globbo calls him a bean dip - I have no idea what that means lol.

But then, after I’ve kinda just poured my heart out to them, they… immediately talked over me with discussion of their Little Mac AU.

This was especially hurtful to me at that moment because I had specifically told them not to talk about their reverse Mac AU with me. Reasoning is given in the screenshots: I didn’t want to talk about Mac being a “psychotic” and manipulative person! (Note that psychotic is used incorrectly here. We’re not at the ableism section yet but it is ableism to refer to someone who is just unhinged and insane as “psychotic”, because experiencing psychosis does not make someone unhinged or insane. It just means they experience delusions and/or hallucinations.)

You can see them immediately breaking the boundary that I’d established literally 2 minutes after the initial boundary had been set, and as you can see, I ignored them. You can also see me in the messages above trying to just ignore them and not enforce the boundary, and I’ll be 100% honest and say that I absolutely should have made my boundaries more clear. I REALLY struggle with setting boundaries due to a history of abuse that we don’t need to get into but I acknowledge that I need to be better about this and I’m trying to be better. I tend to feel an extreme amount of guilt when setting boundaries, so enforcing those boundaries is difficult for me. Regardless, Globbo still pushed and broke them.

Ableism #1

This can be summed up briefly by saying that I suspect Globbo does not do much research into the mental disorders they write about and like to rely on people with those mental disorders to give them information for their writing

First screenshot shows Globbo asking if anyone in Charlie’s discord server is bipolar. Somebody is, I know who they were looking for, but I’m gonna assume they’d like to be uninvolved in this. Second screenshot shows them going into my DMs asking me if I’m bipolar. (Later messages are included to show where the convos ended.) This also isn't inherently ableist but it shows that Globbo kind of regards mentally ill people as a resource for them to use for writing rather than actual friends to talk to, which can also be seen w/ when I opened up about my DID and they just... Didn't give a shit. I wouldn't call them ableist if it was just this, but there's more ofc. Also the person w/ bipolar in Charlie's server expressed discomfort with Globbo's actions, saying they felt like they were being treated like a lab rat, but I'm not including screenshots of that since I think they'd rather stay out of this + image limit. They also seem to feel entitled to people's private medical history... but we'll get to that in a moment.

Ableism #2

They fakeclaimed me! To my face! While I was having a breakdown!

For context, I was venting about my moral scrupulosity and mentioned having OCD. I had just recently gotten diagnosed w/ it.

To break this down...

They say they're not calling me a liar, but why else would you ask if I'm diagnosed w/ my various mental illnesses if you didn't think I was lying?

Asking for the status on my medication or diagnoses like this - in an accusatory context - is not appropriate. They are not entitled to my private medical information. Even if they were asking to try to be helpful, it really felt like they were accusing me of exaggerating my symptoms/faking being mentally ill. As you can see, I was being pretty short with them, since I didn't want to give them what they wanted (my private medical history)

This isn't really a big deal but acting like a stress ball is going to cure my debilitating OCD symptoms is pretty comical

We'll talk about them being a psychiatry student in a moment, but as someone who has had various negative experiences w/ the field, the fact someone like Globbo is studying to be a psychiatrist is concerning

Ableism #4

Only context needed is that they dropped this in the main channel of Charlie's server out of literally nowhere

Let's break this down as well.

I am by no means an expert on bipolar disorder but I'm pretty sure that talk therapy has no hold over how frequently you experience manic episodes. Medication can mitigate the symptoms but bipolar is not a disorder that can be cured or go away.

"One less person become a psychopath" is frankly, evil. As I've argued previously, in my opinion, Globbo tends to treat mentally ill people like we're subhuman, like we're fundamentally broken and need to be fixed, and of course as resources for their fic writing. Context Leading Up To The OC Theft

On April 11th I was at a breaking point w/ Globbo when it came to how frequently I was being talked over and how my boundaries were being pushed repeatedly, and after about 4 hours of trying to explain to Charlie why I was hurt, he talked to Globbo about this, and then Globbo and I talked. You'll see me acknowledge in DMs that this was the wrong decision to make, and as I said previously in this post, I still agree with that. I should have been explicitly clear every time I felt like I was being talked over or had my boundaries being pushed, but I didn't do that because I felt guilty.

Context Leading Up To The OC Theft #2

This is basically just my proof that Globbo knew alcohol was a trigger for me. They got told off for talking about how they wanted to get hammered in a server with a bunch of kids in it, so they went to my DMs to do it.

The OC Theft

This has been laid out clearly and I have nothing to add to this other than the fact that Charlie had told everyone in the server they were going to take a break from Discord - after we had spent HOURS the previous day trying to work out my emotions with Globbo and make amends, bro was exhausted and needed a break. Then, of course, as soon as Charlie went offline, the OC theft occurred.

I don't feel the need to defend myself any further bc IMHO it's cut and dry. Globbo stole my OC, and with the context of my personal trauma surrounding alcohol and abuse, took my OC and made her an alcoholic abuser. I shouldn't have to defend why that's wrong.

I also want to note that people are allowed to write whatever the hell they want with any characters in PO as long as it doesn't veer into CSEM territory, but I'm going to address the claims that I'm the fic police further when I reply to FourEyedFella's post. But for now just know that I am not the fic police. Write whatever you want. Just don't use my OC to do it.

Block Evade #1 + Globbo Admits To Stealing!

What it says in the tin. Here, you can clearly see that Globbo admitted that they were in the wrong, that multiple fics were plagiarized, that I can keep my post up, and that their writing is, by their own words, "copy-pasted like". Also they created an entire new tumblr account (with a new email!) to block evade me so like.

Here's the message they sent to Tarte, also admitting that they'd stolen from Tarte. Note that Globbo has been a hell of a lot less forthcoming with the fact they stole from Tarte than the fact they stole from me, but here's that.

Started publishing anon fics on ao3 to avoid my block of them there

Interacted with Tarte in communities despite Tarte having blocked them because the block feature doesn't work in communities for some reason???

Created an entirely new Punch Out headcanon account, which might have not been to block evade, but definitely did evade blocks

Having to cut them off MULTIPLE TIMES because they kept finding new ways to contact me was annoying to say the least. I just wanted to move on and not think about the theft.

Asperger's Ryan

This kinda speaks for itself, Asperger's + puzzle piece symbol is not cool. However I have since learned that Globbo themselves got diagnosed with Asperger's, which DOES check out timeline-wise since the diagnosis was made null in 2014, and Globbo is 22, meaning that they had 11 years where they could have been diagnosed with autism and not Asperger's. The fact they didn't know Asperger's and the puzzle piece were both extremely harmful to autistic folk kinda proves my point that, despite being in the psychiatry field, they don't do much research into the disorders they write about... like, at all, but I do agree that they might have just not known. However at this point I already had them blocked, I was only checking their blog as a form of mental self harm (not healthy btw don't do this ever) so I wasn't gonna be the one to explain it to them.

So yeah that's my side of what the fuck is going on. I'm not going to go into how this has affected me mentally since I don't want anyone to accuse me of guilt tripping but TLDR it has and I'd like to move on from this? This was after he had already been reporting on Evermore for a while, and AFAIK none of his content even during or after that period was endorsed by the park. Him returning to the land formerly-known-as-Evermore is something of a redemption arc, or could be. I would say that because of his direct, firsthand experience that he is one of the more qualified people who could direct this project, but judging by everything you’re pointing out here I worry he is in a similar position under the Foxes as he was under Ken. But I also wonder, because of the new ownership’s apparent cluelessness and aimlessness, if he and/or other people passionate about the park were the ones who encouraged them to purchase the land in the first place.

I have been losing my shit over this damn panel for the past THREE DAYS (more or less) and I need to yell somewhere so it's gonna go here.

It all began when I was writing my fic (I think this was for My Immortal), and I needed to recap significant hakukai moments. And I remembered "hey, I should include this one thing saguru said during sunset manor that was stupidly super gay for no fucking reason" bc like, yea hakukai not canon, but if canon was gonna give me a whole ass confession then I might as well use it. So, like always, I head to mangadex to look for this panel... Except... It's not there... The line... The line's not there... But I remember... I remember something about "the only one to disrupt/disturb my thinking/mind"... Where... I didn't imagine that right? I mean I read a lot of google translated Chinese fanfics but... I REMEMBERED reading that line... In a manga... In English... ON mangadex...

This is where I should mentioned, that if you weren't around for the Great Collapse of Mangadex. Then... Well, so there was this period of time where mangadex just DIDNT EXIST. Bc there was some cyber?? Attack??? On the site??? I can't fully remember. But it like wiped out most of the site. The mangas r just, gone. So mangadex fixed it. It took a while bc they figured "might as well revamp our site and system". And they did. And it's great. And it looks beautiful now, even more than before.

But see. The line I remembered? Yea... Yea that was from before The Collapse. And mangadex let multiple translation groups submit their translations. So u can read diff translations of diff group, see how things are interpreted differently... And... I remembered this one, that I posted here up top, but I remembered there was another. One that had The Line.

And it was driving crazy so, like usual, I asked my cn friend. But my cn friend (why am I still saying that, it's @beingvv , that's the friend) has A Life, and isn't always online, and we love that for ppl. So. I'm still crazy. I can't trust my own damn mind and memory bc why tf do I remember something that isn't there (happened before btw, but that has nothing to do with this).

Luckily, I have a friend who knows jp. UNLUCKILY, I don't have the jp raws and it's from chapter 300 and we are in the thousands. So, I went back to losing my mind. And I love and have always been thankful and grateful to the ppl who worked hard to translate mangas in their free time, and do it all for free, bc I haven't had any real way to rent/borrow mangas from renting shops/libraries in years. So this was one of the only ways I can read mangas. But, even as I checked the raw panel with Google lens just now, even google translate it as "the only one to make my thoughts go round." No where was there any mention of "case" and "solving." So that's just, multiple accounts of ppl who knows jp, including native jp speakers, all saying that this panel is Saguru saying "the only one to drive me crazy". And man I rly hope this doesn't make me come off as ungrateful or like shitting on the translation team, I'm rly not. But yea. Uh. The translation was wrong. And I remembered that there used to be a diff eng translation. And it led me to go to all this trouble and journey to find out what was actually said. And here we are, at the end.

So I was thinking about what Klug could realistically know about the book demon and its connection to Sig, given that it's so rarely elaborated on, and my conclusion is: more than he wants you to think he does.

Exhibit A: the ending of Fever 2

The first thing that needs to be addressed is the fact that Klug is Right There while Ayashii is monologuing. I guess we don't really know what it's like to be trapped in a book, so there's nothing to suggest either way if he can hear anything... but we do see him look at stuff. Even if he can't hear, he can definitely see, so I think it's reasonable to assume that he'd notice a shift in Aya's demeanor when it sees Sig.

And if he wasn't looking at Aya, then surely he noticed that Sig's hand started glowing and his other eye turned red, right? Hopefully? If he wasn't too busy wallowing in despair, I suppose. Oh, the limits of character portrait-based cutscenes...

He doesn't seem to forget that the possession happened, though. When he's returned to normal, he's not confused about what's going on, he just tries to save face by saying it was all totally according to plan. And while he never brings it up again, I don't think it's ever been strongly implied that he forgot about it - if he did, one would assume that it'd be mentioned in his new Puzzle Pop bio, since it already references the event directly.

So, he likely remembers this, and if he was being observant enough, he could've at least noticed something was up with either Sig or Aya - maybe even both of them.

Exhibit B: Sig's story in 20th Anniversary

So, this part of the theory relies a lot on Klug's line delivery, so I'll include a link to the scene I'm going over. (It's got the timestamp ingrained in the link, but just in case, it starts at 12:49)

Structurally, this scene is... kind of odd, if you take Klug at face value? He's quick to ramble about everything he knows regarding Sig's arm when prompted, no arguments involved, but then he just. says that he doesn't know what any of it means, and demands a Puyo Battle as compensation for wasting his time.

Like. ???

You mean to tell me that Klug, the guy who's obsessed with gathering knowledge, who prides himself on being the know-it-all who can answer any question thrown at him, would be satisfied with saying he doesn't know something? Yeah, I don't buy it.

Let's go over what he says in more detail, and pay special attention to those line deliveries.

Klug speaks very softly during this whole section, as though he's lost in thought. I want to draw special attention to the line, "in comparison to the book I have here..." It's subtle, but his voice actually wavers a little bit on the last syllable. And he all but whispers the last half of "It's as if it's identical in nature," as if he's talking more to himself than Sig at this point.

He keeps up this vaguely ominous, deep-in-thought tone for the rest of his dialogue, until something very interesting happens.

As he's going on about the Weird Vibes he gets whenever he's around Sig, he seems like he's about to go into more detail... and then Sig makes an innocuous "huh" sound.

Which is exactly when Klug pivots to sharply saying that he has no idea what they are. He doesn't sound irritated or panicked, just... I dunno, comfortably back in his usual, uppity tone.

Suspicious.

Amitie proceeds to theorize that the blue thing that sometimes comes out of Sig's back may have a connection with the red thing in Klug's book, and what do you know, Klug actually stutters when he denies the possibility.

Suspicious.

Awfully bold of Klug to say that there's no way the two things could be connected after he just said that Sig's arm and his book feel like they have the same power, by the way.

This whole exchange reads to me like Klug got carried away with the topic of Sig's arm, and ended up saying a lot more than he planned to. He only snapped out of it when Sig's voice alerted him to what he was doing, and then he started hastily covering up his tracks. He had to dismiss Amitie's theory, not because he genuinely thinks she's wrong, but because he knows she's right.

And for some reason, he can't let them know that.

So I gotta ask. Why? What's he trying to accomplish by covering up what he knows? He likely doesn't even know the full story, so what does he think will happen if other people find out?

Maybe he just doesn't want anyone else learning about the book before he can make its power his own. He is rather possessive of it, continuously renewing it from the library with no intention of ever giving it back. Even with his tendency to blab, I could see him wanting to keep something like this a secret. Not just for the eventual power, but as a special something he knows that nobody else does - anything to boost that sense of superiority, even at risk to himself.

...And maybe, in the depths of his tsundere heart, he's trying to protect Sig a little bit, too. He knows that the demon is dangerous, and probably doesn't want to find out what would happen if Sig started pursuing it for answers. Plus, if he did notice Aya gunning for him back in Fever 2, then all the more reason to be wary.

(I'd still posit the idea of him trying protect himself as his primary motivation, and the only one he'd ever acknowledge, but I'm taking my "Klug cares about his friends" crumbs wherever I can, okay)

Of course, if his ears were working in spirit form, then that suggests he knows way more than I've been assuming, but. I'm not sure his behavior really matches up with that idea? He sounds like he's genuinely speculating about Sig and the book here, which would be a little weird if he heard it point and shout "AYO THAT'S MY DESCENDANT AND/OR TRUE FORM. GIMME"

...not that Sig himself seemed to hear that either, but that's besides the point

6. What would get your OC to make themselves disappear?

Fun fact, Daedra already has disappeared before and that was when she fled the Underdark. Yes, there was a paladin that Daedra was involved with looooooooonngg before she met Minthara and before the events of the game. And Daedra really loved her, probably the first person she ever loved. Sadly, Bhaal does not like it when his babies feel genuine love and affection so he torments her with images of his dead lover in which she resists the urges every single time. Until one day, he loses his patience and forcibly takes control of her. Daedra blacks out, and wakes up covered in her lovers blood. Here's the bad part, she publically murdered a paladin of Lolth on the grounds of Arach Tinilith. Yeah, that was a big no-no and everyone turned against her. As a result, she had to kill people who attacked her, including other Priestesses and paladins and that enraged Lolth. So, she ran and never went back to the Underdark.

So for Daedra, it is insurmountable guilt and she herself cannot atone for. She did the same thing after she killed her parents and she just ran away from home and never looked back. Daedra would also run or even lash out under incredibly high amounts of stress (which is why Minthara breaking up with Daedra would be a nightmare scenario).

10. What is the worst loss your OC has suffered?

Her greatest loss is one she doesn't remember and that is when she killed her parents. It was entirely out of her control and was forced upon by Bhaal when the urge awoke. Daedra lost her entire way of life and any purpose that she had. Daedra learned how to be a ranger from her father, and her mother taught her how to be a tanner and how to live off the land. So Daedra survived a little while on her own without her parents. But she did not know how to run the shop that they owned, she didn't know how to buy groceries, and she didn't know how to keep herself supplied for long term. She stayed in her childhood home for days with the corpses of her parents, slowly starving herself because she was so stressed out by the ordeal. Until she got too hungry that she ran away and never went back.

As a child, she had dreams of becoming a master monster hunter as a means of elevating her family because it was what she was good at. Her parents have always taken care of her, and so she wanted to take care of them. She wanted to pamper them and spoil them, just as they had done to her. But without her parents, what was the point of this dream? What was the point of even living? She lost all purpose and reason in life and all she could do was feed the urge. She eventually became a serial killer and hunted on the streets of Menzoberranzan. That is until she got caught by an Inquisitor and was forced to enroll in clerical school to become a cleric.

29. Why does your OC have the flaws that they have?

A lot of Daedra's flaws tie back to her brain damage. So things like getting lost all the time, being unable to remember names, poor impulse control, bouts of confusion, or being unable to understand high level concepts. Daedra's overall intelligence has taken a massive hit and it is something that she is very insecure about, and learning from Gortash how smart she used to be hurt. She learned of what the upper limits of her intelligence once was, and now knows that she is incapable of reaching that limit and it is beyond her control.

Even when the brain damage doesn't get the best of her, she still doesn't always make the best decisions and that ties back to the amnesia. She's not a child by any means, but she is relearning the world, relearning how it works, how she fits in, the "right" and "wrong" ways to do things. So Act 1 is a massive learning curve for her and interacting with Minthara in the goblin camp also had a massive impact on her future decision making. Up until that point, she has only ever met male drow, and they all groveled to her and she didn't understand why. And then she met Minthara, the only person who was extraordinarily pleasant to her because she was a drow. So a lot of her early actions is her emulating what she thinks a female drow is supposed to be, emulating the worst possible version of Minthara because that is who the Absolute wanted her to be. Had it not been for Shadowheart slapping her hand a lot, Daedra would have become much worse and she was able to curb a lot of shitty behavior. But, she couldn't get rid of all of it.

Daedra very much adheres to Lolth and will not back away, even with Minthara's protestations. Because of the amnesia, Daedra has forgotten her strained history with the Spider Queen and all the expectations Lolth once had for her. She also doesn't remember growing up in a Lolthite society. The only things she knows and understands about Lolth, are based directly from her interactions with Lolth. And as far as Daedra is concerned, Lolth is a helpful god because Lolth has been helping her with her urges. She doesn't see any of Lolth's flaws because Lolth is purposefully not showing them to her. Daedra doesn't see Lolth being a vindictive bitch as a bad thing because Lolth has her convinced that it is actually reasonable to be vindictive and spiteful. So she doesn't see that Lolth is grooming her to be Chosen, a position that Daedra would ordinarily refuse. When Daedra woke up on that beach with amnesia, Lolth immediately hopped on the chance to get her favorite Bhaalspawn back because she wants Daedra powers to see alternate realities and wants to leverage it for her own gain.

Kristen: "Right, did they need to switch to pass-fail?"

Riz: "But if Kipperlilly were to-"

Adaine: "But it's only for the year, right?"

Riz: "-become class president, maybe she could change that rule. Maybe they just need good grades to get into whatever school that they're trying to get into."

Kristen: "Why does she want to be president? Yeah."

Riz: "That would be, that's why they need-"

Emily: "But, Ivy didn't act like...I mean, yes, it's possible that she saw, but she would have to be able to... It's not like I rolled a bad Deception."

Riz: "Either way, even if Lucy left the party, if your party is incomplete, you switch to pass-fail. So if any of them can't afford to go to school or something, they can't get scholarships now."

Brennan asks Riz for a history or investigation check and he gets a 28! 😁

Brennan: "As you're speaking, you remember that slip in the yearbook and you know that yearbooks come in time for graduation. But you suddenly remember that there's usually about a week or two weeks in between when your final exams are."

Murph: "Right."

Brennan: "And there's no more things that affect your grade after that. Having done all that research beforehand, the majority of the pie chart of when Lucy could've 'disappeared' that they wouldn't have been able to include it in the yearbook is actually in a period of time where there wouldn't have been grading. It would've been after finals."

Murph: "So if you start a new year, you can have a different adventuring party?"

Brennan: "Yes, basically you can't swap in ringers in the middle of your school year."

Lou: "But it makes sense that they would want to bring in a ringer like our not bad baby, Buddy, who is the backup team chosen one of Helio. They see a chance to bring him in, you kill Lucy."

Emily: "'Cause Lucy Frostblade, I'm almost like, was she not healing-focused enough?"

Brennan: "It's not listed in the yearbook, but finding out what domain she was associated with-"

Emily: "Me, I'm thinking war domain when I hear Frostblade."

Siobhan: "Right, and if he's Helio, he's a light domain cleric. Right?"

Arthur Aguefort, over hundreds of years of running this school, has said a lot of contradictory stuff, and one of his rules is that anything he verbally said became school canon."

Emily: "So we can pick and choose quotes of his."

Brennan: "Yeah, exactly, so there's a lot of wiggle room if you wanna switch a class, right?"

Riz: "Maybe if Kristen becomes school president, maybe we make some of this stuff a little simpler. I feel like we've been doing a lot of stuff, some practical application of our classes, and I feel like we haven't gotten credit for like half the stuff we're doing. We're having to destroy ourselves to pass these classes."

Gorgug: "This is a good platform."

Kristen: "Okay, yeah, right."

Riz: "And this works for everybody."

Kristen: "Can you write a little speech about this?"

Riz: "Of course."

Past Theory about Hoodie's doll and the doll in his hand

Marble Hornets spoiler below. Read at your discretion.

Hello everyone! I wanted to share my old Marble Hornets theory with everyone. This is a culmination of the past theory made in 2021. I never fully finish it, and it was all over the place. So, I would like to start over with it. I’ll credit the past post in the end, but for now let’s get to it.

It all started when Hoodie’s doll was first revealed through Youtube. I was excited when I see the announcement because I always wanted to support Marble Hornets creator directly and Hoodie is one of my favourite characters ever. But I noticed something intriguing when I watch the video. He was holding The Operator’s doll in his hand (Pic 1 and 2). It was somewhat making sense for Hoodie to be holding one since during the scene at Entry 60 (Pic 3), Hoodie was the one giving Jay the plushie, especially including the context in Entry #58 where Brian jumped into the same underground space with pipes.

WIth the reasoning above, I didn’t find it weird that Hoodie was the one holding the doll at first. Until I open the Makeship website and read the description. Here is the exact quote:

The enigmatic frienemy of Marble Hornets, Hoody enjoys leaving cryptic notes, making cryptic videos, and his cryptic long legged doll best friend.

Do not ask him to solve the null code.

Best friend?? Did this description implied that The Operator was his best friend?!

Even if Hoodie didn’t see The Operator as his best friend and just the doll, it’s still weird that Hoodie consider the doll representing the Operator who had hurt him to be one. I mean Hoodie must have known The Operator was the one hurting him and his friends, he recorded him a lot. He even had a petty level of bullying toward Tim despite Tim not the direct cause of his misery.

Of course, it can just mean the doll was belonging to Hoodie’s best friend aka Tim/Masky, mostly Masky. But if that was the case, why didn’t Masky hold the doll in his plushie version instead? Tim even had stronger connection to the doll since he was the one creating the doll during his stay at the hospital (from my understanding at least). Instead Masky was holding a tape in his hand (pic 4), and if my memory didn’t betray me, he has never once hold, give out, or hiding a tape during the whole event as Masky. (Added Notes: I admit he was possibily did it in the first season and maybe second season. But we all know he eventually stop in season 3. And again, the doll still has stronger connection to Tim/Masky than to Brian/Hoodie) He was all about jumping other people. It’s a different case if this was Tim’s plushie since he had hidden a tape in the past.

You could say that both Masky and Tim was one entity so there is no point to see them like different people, but we never knew how much Masky remember about Tim and how much Tim remember Masky (assuming Masky were the crazed/dissociated version of Tim).

And besides, even Alex's doll has a human design and holding items strongly connected to him like guns and stone brick. (Added Notes: And Jay with Handcam) Why couldn’t Tim/Masky got the same thing? Although to be fair, Masky barely ever holding any items except throwing hands and jumping others.

Let’s go back to Hoodie’s plushie and the mystery of the doll. Knowing how the tape didn’t connect strongly with Tim and the doll didn’t connect strongly with Brian, I think they should have switched item so it would make sense. Or make either Brian/Hoodie holds pills instead, that's what I associated with Brian more other than the metal bar he used to hit Alex. I don't know if Makeship would allow that though. Drugs and all.

But here was when the overthinking started. What if Brian truly has deeper connection beyond having possession of Tim’s doll and giving it to Jay? If it really was Tim’s doll, why would Brian even have access to it? Hell, knowing Tim’s history in the past even before knowing The Operator exist, I can’t imagine Tim would give this doll to Brian, let alone introduce it to him. Especially if the doll holds nothing but bad memories.

There was at least two options to explain our predicament. This is strong headcanon territory at this point, so enter with this discretion in mind. 

One, this can be connected to the reason why he hated Tim as Hoodie and the medical report. I’m sure Brian knew about Tim’s illness, especially since Tim coughed a lot everytime the illness returned. But with the combination of Tim not remembering and don’t like to talk about the past, Brian never knew about the scope of his illness. Until Brian got one himself and encounter The Operator. In his crazed state I can imagine Brian dug through Tim’s belonging and tried to find out about what really happened. And then Brian found the medical records. He went ballistic and immediately blamed everything to Tim. This is why later on he became obsessed with the truth and we can assume he was one of the person leading Jay to learn more about the past.

Two, and this is the schizo headcanon, maybe Brian was also The Operator’s victim as a child in the past just like Alex and Tim (although from what we know, Alex never goes to the hospital despite The Operator showed up at his birthday) and then go to the same hospital as Tim. But due to The Operator’s power erase memories, Brian never remembered going to the hospital and meeting Tim. And then Brian could even be the one creating the doll.

I think speculation number 1 is more plausible, but let’s at least entertain speculation number 2 just a bit more. Do you remember when we saw the doll for the first time? It was in Entry 18 where we visited Brian’s house for the second time.

Do you ever wonder why the doll was there in the first place? I think there can only be two suspects for this. It was either Brian or Tim. We already know why Tim could have the doll. Hoodie puts this doll on top of his medical record, and it was implied Tim was the one creating the doll although I couldn’t remember exactly where it was mentioned. I think it was in the medical report.

It can be Brian's because that’s his house. He can come and leave as he pleased, although for some reason Hoodie was nowhere in the house and it was a mess even since Entry 16. I also find it weird that Hoodie was living in his own house like a thief, assuming it's not only Masky living there. But yeah, since this was his house and assumingly it was his doll, I wouldn't be surprised if he left the doll there whether by accident or not when escaping Alex. Maybe Tim/Masky was even send there to retrieve the doll knowing how much Hoodie liked to order around Masky.

Conclusion:

In the end, I still believe this doll belongs to Tim. But I don't know if Masky was the one who should be holding the doll. Assuming he was just the same as Tim, I think it would still be much more sense if Masky was the one holding it rather than Brian/Hoodie.

I'm honestly praying that they'll finally release Tim's and Brian's doll so I can finally know what items they will be holding if any. And then we will see if it adds or diminished this theory.

Astrology Headcanons: Klaus

I love using astrology characters as character charts. So I actually made a few for other characters too.

I wrote a post recently figuring out when Klaus's birthday was relatively. You can find that here. With that said, I have figured out the astrology charts for multiple characters, including Klaus following a certain set of rules: - Use a canon birthday, unless unstated, then their birthday is the airing date of the first episode they appear on. If that is a pilot episode, then it will be the last episode they are in, and if that is the season finale, then pick their first centric episode. - Some characters have alluded to birthdays (like Klaus) and I say try to fit into what is alluded to. I chose the equinox for him because 1. That added up. And 2. he was born before the Gregorian calendar and with that, I think it would be pretty easy to remember for him to know he was born on the equinox (I like to headcanon that all of Esther's children were born on a celestial event of some kind bc she was a witch and controlled that idk---that said I still follow my rules for birthday picking). -Secondly, timestamp of their exact moment of screen time is time of birth. I used the military time, but I also like to alternate. If last character was AM, next character was PM. Klaus comes into frame for the first time in his first episode exactly at 9:57 in the episode, but because the character I chose a time of birthday for with the same method was am, he was born at 9:57 pm. I had to do the alternating thing because characters like Elena and Jeremy and Jenna were freakishly similar time stamps. And it felt more likely to have an alternation system. With that, Mystic Falls is obviously a fictional town, but maps have provided us where irl towns reside near by. I chose Lynchburg for any character canonically born in Mystic Falls, as the rising sign wouldn't actually change form that distance. That said characters like Finn and Elijah are difficult because they have unknown birth place in presumed Norway. Klaus, Kol, Rebekah are luckily Mystic Falls born. Katherine I chose the birth place of Vidin, simply because she was born into aristocracy--- and I could see her being born right on the outskirts or in Vidin itself. But this post is about Klaus. He was turned at 23-25, in 1001, I decided to pick a middle like 24. And so he was born in the year 977. So Klaus: 3/21/977 at 9:57pm. And yes, some astrology charts can calculate that far back in time.
