So, this snippet from Callum’s spell book has always stayed with me. It’s clearly alluding to something but to what? Something is pulling on the cube, dragging it, perhaps even summoning it?

Today’s short short made me think about this again, particularly this passage:

A celestial body that inexorably pulls everything towards it?

A blackhole, perhaps?

Is the cube drawn to Aaravos, or rather, the gate to where ever he is imprisoned?

Coupled with the change in the star on his chest?

Stars normally burn bright, fusing elements together and creating energy, and from that life.

But what happens when a star begins to consume? To becoming greedy and glutinous? To draw matter and energy towards it?

Part 4 Rewrite Concepts

Ok I've officially decided in my head that I'm going to at least plan out a part 4 rewrite, which is why now im going to give u all an extremely messy and poorly organized list of ideas I have just to like..help myself think them through more!

Ok so I'm having trouble deciding how I want to start the story off. Mainly because I don't want to include the Anjelo arc. I've always thought of part 4 being messily divided into 3 parts (Anjelo, Akira, Kira), which is something I know I want to change and have the whole plot just focus on Kira. I was thinking maybe just have it start in a slice of life style like some of the filler eps but the main problem is that I need to figure out what exactly sparks the whole 'we need to catch the killer' thing. Maybe Josuke and Koichi find Reimi instead of Koichi and Rohan? Idk!

And yknow mentioning Akira, I think this is the hardest arc to write out of the story. I don't want to include it very much, but it was really important for Okuyasu's character arc imo. I also just need to reread part 4 i literally own all of the p4 manga why haven't I done that yet..

I'm thinking of changing stuff w Reimi. I kind of want to make her be born a bit later, therefore killed later. Mainly so that she could be connected to Josukes past and this would better set up the framing of Jotaro that I want, as it would make him 17~ when Kira first kills her (I’d also make kira 5 yrs younger ofc)

For josukes past I’m still a little iffy. I think I might have Reimi just be there w the boy to help pull Tomokos car out of the pothole but idk. Is that cheesy? Just bc I still want Josuke to have his hair and everything..

I want to give Keicho Surface. Ik he alr has a stand, and I love Bad Company, but I wanna make Surface plot relevant and give it to someone who I also want to be plot relevant soo..yeah. In my rewrite I imagine Keicho teams up w Kira bc Kira promises to find a way to kill Keicho’s father.

Also yeah I want to have Jotaro be framed for all of the murders bc again that’s fun idk. And this way there can be a subplot abt clearing his name. Also I want to add holly and possibly baby Jolyne (is that too self indulgent?)

I’m still going to keep the plot w Cinderella (as in kira changing his face) bc I love hayato and shinobu. Plus that whole arc is when we got into p4 being rlly good

For yukako I’m thinking of making her josukes cousin, mainly so that they can have a pre established relationship since yukako probably isn’t getting her stand in this (bc she got it from the arrow right? I don’t want to include that arc. It drove me crazy how everyone kept getting a stand)

I’m thinking Joseph gets introduced after Jotaro is arrested and Jotaro is all like “u need ur dad to help solve this!!”

I wanna focus on the conflicts between Josuke and Joseph. I especially think this could be fun bc ryohei would still be alive, so it’s like a case of “u might be my biological dad, but my REAL dad is right here.”

I also want to let Tomoko actually do something but I haven’t decided what yet.

I’m keeping mikitaka in somehow bc believe it or not I do enjoy fun and whimsy

I’m probably cutting out Rohan entirely tho. He was honestly a good antagonist and I love his stand so I might use that somewhere but I just can’t stand him. (lmfao stand)

Also like at the end of the day this is my au and I do what I want!!

I think I might make one of yukakos parents be a police officer. Bc 1. whether I make her and Josuke related or not, they’re still connected by their relatives on the force and 2. I feel like this could possibly help set her up to help in the kira investigation? Like maybe she’s planning to become a cop or detective in the future so she alr has some skills. Or maybe she could help find files or something. No matter what, I want her to get to actually help w the plot instead of just kidnapping koichi then being sidelined like in canon

For okuyasu I’m thinking his arc is going to be changed a wee bit. Like his brother works w kira, but he befriends Josuke and realizes that what his brothers doing is wrong and like..learns to stand up for the right thing regardless of what his brother says. And a bump in this road could be keichos death. Like imagine ur finally branching off from ur brother and then he DIES? I’d be crawling back to his grave too lmfao

I’m going to work on stand profiles and giving them actual limits and rules. Bc a LOT of them just don’t have that.

I think some stands I’ll still include just bc I like them. Like highway star (even tho that arc was so boring the stand is cool).

Also I still want to focus on the affects of Dio for part of it. I think I might mainly do this w Jotaro and his ptsd tho..

Overall I’m excited and I hope I can flesh this out more !!!

I really enjoy lore Olympus well enough. It’s fun and the art is neat. I have my gripes with a few things like how some colors or designs could be better. And I could get more into that later but mostly the one thing that REALLY bugs me right now is the whole fertility goddess plot line.

I know it’s probably not a BIG thing but it’s started to bug me so I’m gonna whine to the void of my tumblr.

So fertility goddess are supposed to be this big deal and they’re made out to be like rare or something. But if that’s the case what the fuck are Demeter and Aphrodite? Is it that Persephone is “new” and therefore not as established/more vulnerable. But she isn’t? Like she’s got a support network. I’m sure Aphrodite didn’t have that when she first appeared and she’s VERY protective of her place. Like she bites so maybe that’s why. And as for Demeter I could understand her fear for Persephone if she herself was a fertility goddess in the story and it’s from a “I don’t want what happened to me to happen to my baby” angle. Mind you original story Demeter did nothing wrong, no helicopter parent abusive bull and I was DESPERATE for her to SNAP in the main story and Zeus to be powerless to do anything to stop her since she canonically controls the growth in the mortal realm. Maybe that’s why she’s also not viable to get one’s hands on. But it doesn’t seem like they’ll be doing anything with that. So either Demeter is like nerfed? Or we just have yet to see her go sicko mode. But essentially Aphrodite and especially Demeter are like THE fertility goddesses in Greek mythology. Yeah there are minor others but those are the BIG two. There’s one myth that points out how Demeter is like so fertile the goddess of starvation and her literally cannot be in the same place. So why is it such a big deal that Persephone is and why is everyone making a big deal of it when there are two other ones who are arguably greater just older and more established sitting right there?? Is that it??? That she’s just young?

It just bothers me personally cause it’s not even remarked on by others?? In story. NO ONE is pointing out how ares and Aphrodite who for a while seem to be a solid couple could be super powerful? If ares wants a fertility goddess he already has one. Which is another thing that annoys me. Ares flirting with Persephone is just WEIRD I dunno why it’s there. Admittedly yes it’s remarked that ares tried to woo her alongside Hermes, Apollo and Hephaestus before she married hades but that Demeter rejected them all and his her away from the gods but like. Lots of stuff has been cut out from myth for the comic. I feel like the ares and Persephone thing could have as well especially since ares and Aphrodite are more well known together and very few know about that tidbit. Ares is the most drinks respect women juice male god outside of maybe hades as far as I’m aware. I don’t think people would have minded and after the timeskip ares and Aphrodite are done anyway. If you really want to have an ares flirting with Persephone scene do it then in a like “I’m hurting and single. You’re hurting and single. Rebound?” Kind of way. She can say no. He can say fair.

I guess this is just a “what’s the deal with x” rant. Anyway. Yeah.

I don’t like minimizing the importance and gravity of Laios and Toshiro’s fight into just being a childish squabble, even if to a degree it is framed that way, because to both of them it has a lot of personal significance and emotional weight and runs very deep to their characters… The fight isn’t nothing it’s a LOT, they made up but it’s not something easy to express and to get over for either of them which makes it all the more meaningful! Like it’s not "just" about oh his friend liking him less than he thought, THAT IS SO MUCH. There’s how he gets across as stoic when he isn’t being enthusiastic…… We don’t know how aware and wary he is exactly in the moment but we do know he has some anxiety around social stuff, and looking back he does notice and aughh augh, the sense you have to hide yourself to not get hurt and be on your guard and shit and.

When you don’t know what to look out for and when to look out for it, the general ‘common sense’ of not always trusting people or noticing when someone’s messing with you becomes hypervigilance in social settings

i think the “aligned with me in this war, but i hate them for their other views” type character is seriously lacking in stormlight and was a huge missed opportunity with sadeas, amaram and even taravangian to an extent. all our main heroes may have some friction but are ultimately Good People with different perspectives. Sadeas and Amaram could have been morally reprehensible but valuable allies that make for interesting narratives and choices. even taravangian was imprisoned when he was discovered to have been in dialogue with odium. could have been an issue of like “yea i did that, and what of it? i have strategic advantages that you need, and so you have to overlook it.” i’m still at work but just spitballing

something I think is cool is the oceanic motifs of all the void creatures and areas in ror2…

the void fields are covered in a seaweed like plant and have the appearance of underwater trenches.

the enemies originating from the void have clear oceanic themes as well, mostly being crustaceans.

there’s even some void items are are obviously sea creature themed as well (zoeas being a type of crustacean, shrimp being shellfish, the tentacles clearly resembling octopi)

this is likely because of the idea that both deep space and deep sea environments are dark, expansive, and isolated.

so… what the fuck is void fiend?? we know it’s a mutated human, but what is it like underneath the helmet? did it get turned into some deep sea abomination too??? what kind of corruption did it get from the void??
