PLEASE for the love of the universe read anti-colonial science fiction and fantasy written from marginalized perspectives. Y’all (you know who you are) are killing me. To see people praise books about empire written exclusively by white women and then turn around and say you don’t know who Octavia Butler is or that you haven’t read any NK Jemisin just kills me! I’m not saying you HAVE to enjoy specific books but there is such an obvious pattern here

It was genuinely surreal to sit here as a person of color and watch people complain about AO3 being down and then instantly watch their complaining turn into blatant xenophobia, Islamophobia, and raging racism, as it has so many times before. 

In one breath, people yelled about their fandom space being taken away from them, and they cried about the isolation. Then in the next breath, these same people would isolate an entire community with hateful speech and misinformation. 

This trend is not new. This behavior is not new.

I’m so sick of AO3. I’m so sick of the current fandom culture.

eddie, growing up with not much, knows he needed his food to be sustaining. therefore wayne and him always bought whole milk.

steve, who grew up with a ‘health’ obsessed wasp of a mom, only knows skimmed milk.

but once he moves into the trailer he learns that ‘oh shit whole milk tastes way better’ and starts drinking it a LOT. like with every meal, after a workout, with a snack type amounts. (he helps out with groceries so just starts getting enough milk that he can have a gallon to himself.. or multiple.)

this is fine. but steve doesn’t realise that while whole milk tastes better, and has slightly better nutritional value, it is a lot more calorie dense.

eddie doesn’t know how too, but also doesn’t really want to, tell him…

Pieta is one of my favorite works of biblical art. It means pity.

The Latin phrase is “acta est fabula, plaudite” which is “The play is over, applaud.”

And it’s not actually stated or directly implied. These aren’t even the last panels—I constructed this to illustrate the feeling that hangs in the air of this situation as a whole. We know all too well what trigger is about to be pulled, so Horikoshi doesn’t need to spell it out. Anticipation is gripping us around the neck. Terrible possibilities fill the silence. It’s funny, because Hori is prone to dramatic cliffhangers that turn out to go nowhere, but this is the opposite. This is not a character hanging off the edge of a cliff. This is a character oblivious to the abyss that drops just beyond their periphery. All Izuku has to do is glance in the wrong (right?) direction, and he’ll be propelled, vertigo-like, into the void of rage, grief, denial, desperation, despair… who knows what else. For now we can only imagine.

Gunilla (aunty boss lady) isn’t very family- or child-oriented person, so I don’t think she saw her nephew all that much when he was young. They likely met properly when Gustav turned old enough for his mom to shove him on her under the guise of summer internship, and it probably took even longer for them to build a proper connection.
