Lay You in the Ground Crazyposting Part Deux.

I promise this is only an interruption in the angst-and-traumafest. Your honor, they deserve love, but what they've got is me to write them.

He helps her to shaky legs. Kitty’s vision is pleasantly blurred at the edges as Blaine’s hands work in alarmingly expert reverse, redressing her as she sways on her bare feet—underthings, shoes, the heavy fall of her dress slipping back down her body. Endorphin-drunk, she reaches back and ruffles his hair as he stands behind her, untwisting a shoulder strap that has tangled in the process.

“I thought you were only good at undressing women,” she says, raking her nails lightly across his scalp.

Blaine makes a sound low in his throat that is half gasp and half growl. “I’m a man of many talents. Keep doing that, and you’ll get a demonstration of several more of them.”

And then, he’s gone from her personal bubble, reaching for her hand, tugging her toward the bar.

“Coat?” he asks, reaching behind the bar for her purse and handing it over.

Kitty purses her lips. “I didn’t bring one.”

“Of course you didn’t.” He grins. “That’s a thing with you, for some reason. You probably don’t remember the first night you walked into The Post, but you weren’t wearing a coat then, either.” He steps close, pushes her hair back from her face. She’s sure she looks a mess—makeup smeared, clothes rumpled. But Blaine’s looking at her as though she’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.

And she remembers everything about the first night she walked into The Post. Scared, alone, running from the dark.

“I travel light,” she explains, shrugging. “And this is weird pillow talk.”

God, she loves the way he smiles. When things take him off-guard, amuse him, the flash of teeth and the light that reaches his eyes changes him into someone else. Someone lighter.

Kitty’s eyes flick upward. So much is better in the light.

“It’s part of my charm. No, I—it just stuck with me. The coat thing. It was one of the things that made me want to help you.” He reaches for her hand, pulls her into him. She goes without resistance; his arms around her waist, her arms around his neck.

“One of?” she teases.

“Oh, yeah, well, you’re also ridiculously attractive and seemed to be some kind of fugitive from law enforcement, so that really did it for me.”

“See? You can be wrong, sometimes.”

Blaine kisses the tip of her nose. “Splitting hairs, but I’ll concede. It wasn’t law enforcement. Now, I’ll go get my coat…” Blaine steps back, and Kitty feels a flutter of anxiousness rise in her throat.

What now?

She’d never navigated the after with anyone she…didn’t despise.

“And you will wear it. And we are going back to my place to do that”—Blaine points back over his shoulder at the piano as he reaches the mouth of the hallway that leads to the back office—“again.”

And then, he disappears down the hall. And under the bright, blazing lights of the chandeliers above, Kitty suddenly struggles to recall what it ever felt like to be in the dark without him.

One thing I like to hc with the Apollo Head Counselors is that they all represent a time of which the sun is out.

Lee - Dawn/Dusk

Mainly dusk, but pretty much imagine him in browns, oranges , dusky yellows and reds and the like.

Michael - Twilight

Starts after the fall of Dusk,short lived. Haralds the start of darkness and but also first light when it falls. The darkess time in which the sun is out. I see him muted/ dark blues,dull browns and blacks. Maybe a touch of greyish pale yellows.

Will - Daylight

Longest lived, bright, it's what most people think about when they think of the sun. With his golden sun kissed hair and sky blue eyes its pretty on the nose. I see him in bright/light yellows and blues.

Idk why I thought of posting this, I just love them and wanted to share my thoughts.

Think it is pretty obvious how I tend to draw them, but it's fun to write it out ^^

Update on my Whumptober thoughts: Not all the prompts will be posted, I have all 31 planned out but I found out that you don't have to post all 31. If a fic is finished, I'll post it but there's some big beasts that I want to write properly instead of rush. Also, I might not even write all 31. I want the completionist title but I don't have the time nor energy to force myself to write all the prompts and I did it last year and it wasn't like life-changing. I like Whumptober because the prompts help my creativity, spark some inspiration (talking about my Delancey Brothers Fic) but the perfectionist in me just beats myself up about not getting enough fics done before October or not writing enough each day to get them finished and then writing fics that all sound the same or the ideas being kind of shitty because I'm forcing them. I want to do my ideas justice rather than mass produce shit I don't like because I feel I need to, it's a constant line I walk between "I want to write something well and that I'm proud of so might be inactive for a while on AO3" and "I want to get this idea out there so need to post a bunch of stuff now"

Okay apparently I'm not done nitpicking. Skimping that much on Zuko's scar shows a fundamental misunderstanding of Zuko. It's not just a weird mark on his face, it's a brutal reminder of his (perceived) failures and a symbol of his internal struggle between good and evil. The scar is so integral to Zuko's character I can't imagine why they would diminish it unless they didn't understand what it means. And not to be mean but it's not hard to puzzle it out! It's literally Symbolism 4 Kids.

director's commentary: this song is specifically what i have in mind for their last evening together before mikhail moves to the other side of town. i added the second bit because that's literally what they spent their evening doing; watching the sunset on the docks together, and vitali gifted mikhail a necklace nadya had given him to one day give to his significant other. vitali believed he would never find someone so he wanted mikhail to have it instead

director's commentary: vitali loses his phone and with that loses contact with mikhail for six years. he believes he's never going to see him again and most of his bad decisions during their years apart are a direct result of mikhail's absence

director's commentary: mikhail is also not handling losing vitali well. he believes it's his own fault- thinks he didn't make enough effort to keep in touch with vitali and now he's ignoring him because of it. mikhail is trying a bit harder to move on, mainly because he has to focus on school a lot; but he can't help but keep thinking about vitali and wondering if he will ever see him again

anyway - noah kahan mikhail & vitali, reunited at arasaka

director's commentary: when mikhail and vitali reunite at arasaka, they move on very quickly from everything that happened mainly because they no longer want to think about it. but both of them realize that things are different now; and they worry about each other, not used to each other's new habits and quirks and especially mikhail worries a lot about vitali. but he also stays patient with him. they have all the time in the world now

director's commentary: when vincent and vitali meet, vincent falls in love very quickly but also worries that because of their differences vitali will never be interested in him like that. his self-confidence at that point is basically below rock bottom and all of it together causes him to be very anxious about being in love at first

director's commentary: vincent and mikhail take a while to become friends because vincent is at first intimidated by mikhail, while mikhail just struggles making new friends in general. they're both essentially stepping out of their comfort zone a bit to befriend each other and because of it get a fresh new start and it's all worth it in the end, and that's the vibes this song gives me

director's commentary: vitali has been with many men in the past but none of them have made him feel quite as vincent does. he also falls in love relatively fast but at first tries to just shrug it off, feeling like he should just focus on his professional life- but it's impossible to get vincent out of his head and he is very deeply in love with him now and it's too late to back out of that

director's commentary: another song that's just a bit more fun, mikhail and vincent's dynamics are just very fun and they love each other so much by now. it's interesting how they both started out very shy and nervous around each other but at the same time didn't want the other to walk away; some of that still lingers now, but they're enjoying the time they have together anyway

It's Scar-centric so I only have the Clockers nailed down right now, but the Ranchers were my faves so they'll probably exist in some shape or form in that series.

I'm glad you enjoyed my post! I really like Team Rancher... they are just very kind to each other and I could talk for ages about how they passed Scott's compatibility test with flying colors even though he was trying to rig it so they break up SLDKFJSLDFJ <3 Tango and Jimmy were just super kind to each other and incredibly comedic... Double Life was such a fun series. I miss them.

honestly something that is more annoying than "that character would not fucking say that" or "i'm assigning you to actually look at the source material again" type headcanons are when you come across a headcanon where there is nothing technically wrong with it and you can't sit there and say "well you just don't get this like i do" because there is no actual solid evidence that whatever they're saying can't be the case, but it still feels like mischaracterization because of your own way too intense headcanons. and you're aware of that so you just have to sit there silently telling yourself "that is just as valid a read of the character as my interpretation :)" and trying not to go ham because you know you have genuinely no justification for feeling like canon is being ignored
