It's actually tiresome how everytime I come home my mum is ready with some kind of tantrum :')))
I was in the gym anad came home at 21:10, usually I come home at around 20:50, and a 20 minute delay made me listen to the worst stuff :)
She's actually pretty nice most of the times but lately she's been scolding me and yelling at me everytime I come home. From anywhere. I literally just went to meet my best friend after more than 10 days (she lives three houses down from mine) and that too for just 45 minutes and she scolded me for that. It's like she doesn't want me to go out AT ALL and I'm sick of it.
Ffs I'm just waiting for when my job will call me for work and I'll move cities. She's nice but I'm sick of her.

If you have any interest, how about a Spencer blurb where he's off on a case and gets or misses a late night call from the reader and is super worried, only to call them back and find them drunk and missing him. And of course the team rags on him after.
thank u for ur request! fem!reader
Spencer looks down at his phone and goes ghostly white.
"What?" Emily asks. "They had a sale at Waterstones and you missed it?"
Spencer clicks a bunch of buttons on his phone and brings it to his ear, crushing limp hair to his neck. "Seventeen missed calls," he says.
Derek comes to the rescue, though the lightness in his voice is slightly forced, "Don't panic, wonderboy. Who wouldn't be eager to talk to you at… two AM?"
"Is that the time difference?" Emily asks, leaning forward in concern.
Even Hotch puts down his pen. The team listens to the phone ring. It loops, loops, loops, and everybody breathes a sigh of relief when you finally answer. If something happened to you Spencer wouldn't survive it. Nor after everything he's already been through.
"Hey?" he says. There's a gap of silence. "Y/N, are you there?"
"Spencer!"
Spencer turns away from the table they've congregated at and looks through the open window at the parking lot, police cars roaming in and out of spaces. "What's wrong?"
"I miss you so much."
Spencer's nose wrinkles of its own accord. "Yeah? You sound odd. Are you– are you drunk?"
Derek laughs. Like marionettes held tight with strings suddenly cut, the team stop their stressing and send each other knowing, amused looks.
"Just a little bit!" you promise, clearly lying. Your voice catches on the syllables like they're coated in sticky honey, the slightest slurring tripping you up at the end. "We went for– to Chilli's. I had a blooming onion and seven margaritas!"
"I can tell."
"I'm really sorry, Spence, I know I'm not s'posed to call when you're away," you begin.
Spencer glances back. Rossi and JJ have returned with coffee and a late dinner, neither of them bothering to act as though they aren't listening to the conversation.
"No," Spencer says, turning back around and hunching inward, "that's the opposite of what we talked about, isn't it? You can call whenever you want to, but I can't, you know, always answer. I thought something bad happened. Maybe next time you could text me?" Rather than call almost twenty times and give him a heart attack.
Laughter echoes from behind. They team act like a teasing family sometimes, Spencer their teenage son who's never dated.
He would fluster if you weren't talking to him in loud but loving tones, "I can barely walk, texting wasn't happening. I'm para-spelgic."
"You're not," he says, firmly at first. "Are you? Who's with you? Is Rebecca there?" Rebecca being your best friend. Spencer trusts her to take care of you.
"She was, but she said that I– uh… She said I talked about you too much and made her nauseous. I feel kinda sick, too, but I just needed to talk to you, Spence. I miss you. I miss you, are you home soon?"
"Is Rebecca really not there?" he asks. He thinks about the room full of special agents he's standing in and drops his voice to a murmur. "I miss you too."
"She's making toast or something."
"That's good. It'll soak up the margaritas."
"I don't want toast, I want you! Please come home safe, angel. I really wish you were here to do that thing with my ear."
Spencer has to give in. You're speaking so loudly it's impossible the team hadn't heard it, but he can't find the will to be embarrassed any longer. You're drunk and ridiculous and all you can think about is him.
"I wish I was home, too. Do I need to worry about you? Make sure you're drinking water, okay? Alcohol makes you dehydrated, you'll get a bad headache."
"It makes me miss you," you whine.
He smiles fondly. "There's no cure for that." A door opens over the line. "Is that Rebecca?"
"Yeah." Murmurings. "She says sorry for letting me get so drunk, but she didn't let me do anything. It's like you always say, Spence, I can do whatever I set my mind to."
"And you set your mind to getting drunk at Chili's."
"Exactly!"
You talk a little more before he hangs up. He knows you're getting taken care of.
A gaggle of smiling faces greet him as he turns around. "Everything okay, 'angel'?" Derek asks.
Spencer puts his phone in his pocket. You'll text him in the morning with a hankering for Tylenol and sore eyes, but you'll be fine. "Everything's great."

"I get car sick sometimes", is what Sunghoon said three seconds before clambering into Heeseung's hand-me-down Honda Civic. You waited for an elaboration, for him to continue yet he offered none. Jake, stood next to you and smiled with all his might. Whether he ignored your puzzled face or just didn't hear his friend was unknown to you but you followed your lover in the car as Jake nudged you.
Twenty minutes into the highway, Sunghoon announced that he needed to throw up or he would die. Heeseung groaned, " My guy, we just started. Can't you hold it in?"
You kicked the back of his seat and he squeaked in shock. "Hee, that's the one thing you don't do when you need to throw up". You turned to your lover and inspected him.
His usually bright complexion appeared dull and flushed under his woolly scarf, eyes lidded from sleep or dizziness, you couldn't decipher. When you grabbed onto his palm to provide solace, you realised just how warm he was, how his sweaty palms soaked your gloves, and the way his fingers trembled with each heavy breath. A peek at the car console showed that the heater was on but the car wasn't even warm which is why Jake kept shivering next to you. The conditioner had been jammed ever since teenage Heeseung dropped coffee on the controls so it would only blow lukewarm air in all seasons.
You leaned closer to your lover who graciously accepted your warmth. He tried to bury his head in the crock of your neck but you pushed his head until it gently hit the headrest. He groaned in dismay at the loss of contact and, next to you, Jake groaned at what he thought was an act of love.
"God, I wish I was in Jay's car," he grumbled," Niki keeps sending me snaps". He turned his phone to face you, a blurry pixilated Niki and Jungwon showed off their bounty with large smiles, several packets of chips, cans of juice and one healthy granola, presumably for Jay.
Your heart gleamed at the sight until you remembered the problem at hand. You pushed his phone away. "Doesn't Hoon look sick? I don't think it's car sickness"
Jake peeked over your form to look at Sunghoon, he scratched his head, "Sick? He looks seconds away from ascending. What did you do?"
You gaped at him and spluttered to defend yourself. "I didn't do anything! He's been like this for a while".
Next to you, Sunghoon tsked loudly. He had closed his eyes, thick brows furrowed and his plush lips were pulled back in a thin line. "He's right here And it's just mild car sickness", his voice was sharp but there was a slight crack. You gave Jake a pointed look when he stifled his giggles behind a hand.
From the front seat, Heeseung glanced at you three through the rear mirror and spoke up," Just an hour until we reach the first stop, Hoon, fighting!"
Sunghoon groaned loudly, then mumbled a quiet "don't call me that" so delicate, only your ears caught it. This time when he snuggled into you, you accepted him and wrapped your arms around his shivering frame in a warm bear hug. His dark locks tickled your nose as he tried to bury himself even further in you, or maybe he was trying to fit himself in your (read: his) coat. You placed several delicate kisses on his crown.
Jake pretended to throw up. Next to Heeseung, Sunoo paused his chewing to laugh and then turned his torso to offer a water bottle. His cheeks were curved as he also offered a smile and you didn't feel so chilly anymore. Even though Sunghoon was snoring in your embrace you took the water bottle in case he woke up.
Sunghoon's eyes fluttered open and his gaze concentrated on light brown wood that levitated before his eyes. Far too disoriented, he tried to puzzle his surroundings. It took him an embarrassingly long time to realise that he stared at a wooden roof and was cushioned under several duvets, sweat dripped from his hairline and his thick sweater clung onto his back like a parasite. The cabin, he rationalised, though he had no memory of entering it or even waking up in the car.
His head thumped as if he had smashed it against the wall, eyes pinching with every blink. Thankfully, the room was lit up by a small lamp that didn't blind him. each part of him ached, begged him to drift off to Lala land again but the sticky, dirty feeling of being caged under all the materials annoyed him to his core. He tried to sit up but his arms could not support his weight. So much for the gym. He barely lifted a couple of inches before he fell onto the pillows, the movement, albeit small, shook his vision and he scrunched his face in pain.
His conquest to brush his bangs out of his face halted as his ears picked up snores emitting from his left side. He thought of you and how ethereal you looked asleep and the butterflies inside his rib cage danced wildly, a dimple appeared on his face and he leisurely turned his face towards your body...except.. his gaze landed upon dark hair with curled tips and a nose that did not resemble yours at all. He groaned loudly when he connected the face to the name. Jungwon was cuddled next to Sunghoon, softly snoring and blissfully unaware of how Sunghoon was mentally writing the sequel to Inferno in his head.
He wrongfully glared at the innocent boy when suddenly, from the corner of his eye, a bright flash that momentarily dazed him, caused him to fling his arm in the direction to protect himself. A loud cackle that was far too familiar made his heart sink and alerted him of another presence.
Sunghoon pulled the duvets over his head and wallowed in the darkness to save the small shred of sanity left. Niki continued laughing as he climbed the bed and softly shook Sunghoon.
"All of these are going in the blackmail folder soon," he sweetly reminded Sunghoon who wondered where the hell you had gone off to. His lack of reaction spoke loudly to Niki. "Your girl's in the kitchen with Jay".
At the hopeful prospect of food, Sunghoon's ears perked up like a cat, he peeked out to glare at Niki, lax beady eyes stared at him but Niki was unaffected. He casually pocketed his phone.
"You better not be lying Niki," Sunghoon tried to warn the younger boy but his voice came out wrong, too nasally and unlike himself. It caught him off guard and his face flushed out of slight humiliation. Sunghoon hated his moments of weakness to manifest in front of others, gosh he missed you. The one person he could let his walls crumble in front of. He wished you were here, cradling his face in your lap as you cooed him in a sweet voice, and brushed your fingers through his hair.
"What the hell is wrong with me?", he lamented at his inner turmoil. Niki shrugged, and a lazy smile hung on his face.
the oak door opened to let out a slight breeze of chilly air and you emerged through it like an angel. You were carrying a tray of food, two bowls that smelt heavenly and made his stomach do backflips. Your eyes lacked their usual mirth, instead, there was nervousness stitched on your face and Sunghoon felt awful for worrying his lover.
In an urgent need to fall back into routine and do tasks for you, Sunghoon pushed down his blankets to reach you so he could grab the tray from you but Jungwon, now wide awake, placed a firm hand on his shoulder. Sunghoon immediately sat down. Jungwon offered him a dimpled smile and he returned it with an uneasy one.
When you came closer, Niki grabbed the tray from you and placed it on a side table Sunghoon hadn't noticed before. He had zero time to soak in his surroundings but he didn't need to anymore since his tunnel vision zoomed on you.
Your cheeks lifted when you smiled at Sunghoon but he saw how it didn't curve your eyes, how the tips of your smile quivered. Physically, his body ached, his eyes burned and he felt gross and heavy for a different cause. He cast his eyes to his hands and tinkered with the furry blanket to distract himself.
You sighed softly and took a step toward him. Pulling his shivering frame to rest on your torso, the heat his body radiated did not soothe you. But what disturbed you more was the solemn expression he wore.
You raked your fingers through his hair, something only you could do as permitted by Sunghoon's law and you felt his giggles before his shoulders shook. He chose to look up at you, eyes slightly watery and red nose scrunched as he showed off the smile you cherish. You imitated him.
Finally feeling lighter and not as gross, Sunghoon circled his arms around your waist and brought you as close as possible. Your knees hit the mattress and he slowly leaned backwards until you flicked his forehead.
Immediately, he barked in pain and let go of your hips. You clicked your tongue.
Sunghoon let gravity pull him onto the cushions with a loud huff and whine but you paid no attention. Carefully, you scoped some porridge and gently blew on it to cool.
From the corner of his eyes, Sunghoon observed how you placed your palm under the spoon to catch any hot droplet and he felt fuzzy inside. Quickly he sat up and parted his lips to take the first bite and immediately he was sent to heaven. He wasn’t sure if it was the flavours on his tongue or your presence next to him but he could see his health bar regenerating. He closed his eyes and hummed appreciatively, finally eating after hours.
When you turned to the bowl for his second bite, he spoke up.
“There’s no need to eat more. I feel so much better just by looking at you.”
It was your turn to groan at his dramatic antics, grip on the utensil loosened as you turned to pinch his cheeks but he swatted your hand away. Interlocked your fingers tightly.
“You’re so stupid,” you faux insulted to distract him from how his genuine words affected you, and he dared to giggle, shoulder shook with every melody that dripped from his mouth. Gosh, you missed his laughter. You hated seeing your loved ones sick.
Another bite was brought near him with precise care as the first one. His eyes gleamed when he ate the porridge, you assumed it was because of Jay’s delectable famous cooking but the boy was on cloud 9 because you were hand-feeding him. You aka his lover aka his beloved who cared for him. Usually, he fed you from his plate but the role reversal made him melt.
Before you could spoon another mouthful, he squeezed your hand to pause your actions.
“Have you eaten?”, he whispered the words with a tile of his head, a stray lock fell onto his forehead. Sunghoon saw the twinkle in your smile and, mirth in your eyes and he anticipated your response.
Thinking about it was one thing, but saying the words out loud made you bashful, your gaze moved to your hand which he held so tight.
“I feel so full just by looking at you”, you mimicked his words.
His response was immediate, like a cat that licked a sour lemon, he scrunched his features, nose crinkling and fangs appearing, he cringed with his entire body and fell onto the bed once more. His dark hair draped across his face like a curtain and he pressed his face into the duvets, wailing loudly like a siren.
Now you just felt embarrassed. So, you slapped his back with little force.
“Hey, it wasn’t that bad!”, you defended your crumbling dignity. He ignored you and began to crawl under the duvet until you said his name. It made him spring out of the covers to face you with a big frown, thick brows stitched together, he glared at you with a pout and flushed cheeks. You waited for him to say something, a couple of seconds passed until he heaved a dramatic sigh and rolled his eyes.
“You’re not supposed to call me Sunghoon”. His explanation gave literally no explanation so you stared at him, puzzled and he whined at your lack of comprehension.
“That’s literally your name?”, you stated.
Did he get so sick he forgot? Sunghoon sighed once more, this time it wasn’t exaggerated but it came deep from within your soul, as if this very conversation burdened him. Then, he grabbed your shoulders and shook you back and forth, head swaying. Based on his behaviour you started to believe that Jay added magical healing potions when you weren’t looking. He seemed to be recovering too quickly.
“Hoon”, he said with too much emphasis. “That’s my name to you”.
You rolled your eyes and removed his clammy hands from your shoulders.
“Well, Hoon you need to finish this to get better. And when you get better you can finally spend time with us”.
He nodded along and seemed satisfied with you; his nose scrunched again as a dimple poked his cheek. He took several bites and finished the first bowl with ease but was reluctant to even begin the second one.
“I want us to eat it together”.
He couldn’t meet your eyes. It wasn’t surprising that you couldn’t either. You glanced at the miso soup in your lap, steamy and savoury. The single utensil almost drowned in the broth, awaiting its next commands.
Then thoughts of the boy next to you consumed you, the boy of your dreams, lovesick and quite sick in general. Your lack of response made him fiddle with the loose threads, lip tucked between his teeth. Your heart felt sore in the best way possible, seeing how much he cherished you, and how he desired to do such mundane activities but as a shared couple. A number of beats passed and Sunghoon could hear his heart thump in his ears, head ringing due to another reason now. You heard the faint sound of the boys laughing and yelling over the TV, catching bits of their conversation.
You slid your hand across the small distance between his legs and yours and instinctually Sunghoon turned his palm upwards to clasp your hand into his. A smile threatened to break on his face, cheeks already hinting upwards.
“Hoonie, if I get sick, I’ll make sure they go skiing without you and you're locked in this room with me”.
Deep laughter erupted from him and vibrated in his chest. He let go of your hand to cradle your face in his warm hands, thumbs brushing your cheekbones like you were delicate and made of glass.
He leaned closer and closer until your noses touched, feather-like. You stared into his cinnamon eyes and saw a small reflection of yourself in them until Sunghoon’s lashes met as he closed his eyes and tilted his head to take your breath away.
Maybe getting sick was worth it, maybe it didn’t matter as long as Sunghoon was by your side, happy, healthy and full of passionate love and vibrant life.

Package | Bat family x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
You never stopped to think about being a mother, you are young and it was too early to think. Well, until you meet Bruce Wayne. You met him by accident, really an accident, you ran him over with your bike and then you went out to get to know each other better.
After many meetings, the marriage proposal finally arrived. As said above, you didn't think about being a mother. But marrying Bruce Wayne came with a package.
The first package was Dick.
He was adorable, he was always around you, he bragged to everyone that he had an incredibly beautiful mother. Mom, it was a surprise when you heard that word addressed to you.
It was a Friday, you went to pick Dick up from school because Alfred was on vacation, so you went to Dick's school. You were at the gate waiting, while sending some messages to friends and Bruce, little Dick approaches along with three boys.
—I told you she was beautiful. - Dick points at you, then crosses his arms.
—Wow.- one of the boys says.
—Stop drooling over my mother. –Dick speaks naturally as he gets into the car.
On the other hand, you become paralyzed trying to absorb the new information. When you finally get in the car, Dick hands you a drawing, it's him, you and Bruce.
—You can throw it away if you want. - Dick says, putting on his belt.
You've had this drawing saved for over fifteen years. A memory of the first time you became a mother.
—It's very beautiful, my love, thank you very much.
—Is it okay if I call you mom?
—You are my son, obviously you should call me mother.
Dick is a mama's boy, even at twenty-two he still runs into her arms.
The second package was Jason.
You were already in your pajamas, the calm rain turned into a storm and Bruce was already on his way back. You just didn't expect Bruce Wayne to show up with a boy cowering from the cold.
—Honey.- Bruce looked completely embarrassed. —This is Jason.
The boy looked at you, his beautiful eyes made you sigh with love for your newest baby.
-I am __.
It was a complicated relationship at first, in fact Jason only let you get close to him. He spent time with you at the library, you created a book club that was just the two of you.
It was a trusting relationship, when Jason had nightmares you would always be with him.
—It's okay, love, I'm here.
Jason started calling you mom because Dick did that.
—Are you my mother too? - Jason asked with his mouth covered in chocolate.
—Of course, right, - replies Dick. — If you're my brother, idiot.
He starts calling you mom. And you love the fact that you have two boys. Jason is also a mama's boy. When you learned of Jason's death the world stopped, you fell into a deep depression that you had to hide because Bruce Wayne brought a surprise.
The third package was Tim.
It was a little difficult, it wasn't Tim's fault, you love him, but he came so quickly that you haven't accepted Jason's death yet. The pain is horrible. But Tim needed love and you tried.
Tim heard you lost a son and it was still hard. He saw you crying several times, even though you hid to not show how fragile you are. Then one day, Tim came into the room where you were crying. He climbed onto the bed and hugged you.
—I'm sorry, I didn't want you to feel this pain, mom. - Tim was hugging you.
-Oh my love.
You were healing, Tim was there to help you, he knew you were broken.
-Mother?
-what?
—Nothing, it's cool to call you that.
—How about making cookies? - you smile.
—And coffee?
—You are prohibited from drinking coffee.
Tim is a mama's baby, he's always by your side when you need him, you take care of him with so much love that he just wants to reciprocate.
It is Tim who breaks the news that Jason is alive.
Bruce Wayne doesn't know when to stop and you don't really care.
The fourth package was Damian.
—Are you saying you have a child with another woman?
You need time to understand the situation, when Bruce explains it you still get suspicious. A new kid in the mansion. Harder than Jason as a teenager.
—Damian, it's going to rain, take an umbrella. - you say.
Damian looks at you.
—You're not my mother, you don't command me. - he leaves in a huff, taking the umbrella.
A new member of the book club, Jason was reluctant before accepting that Damian could join the club.
You noticed Damian was slowly approaching. If you are in the kitchen, he will come up to you and ask what you are doing. If you leave, he asks if he can come along. At the market he pushes the cart for you.
-Can I have this? - Damian points to some chocolates. He sighs remembering what Thalia told him.
You pass Damian picking up several bars.
—Yes, you can, my love.
Damian never complained about you calling him baby, living by your side is peaceful because you are a different person than his mother.
Damian wrote you a letter, actually a note.
YOU WANT TO BE MINE MOTHER?
Yes ( ) or no ( )
You thought it was so cute, you squeezed Damian saying yes, you accepted being his mother.
Damian is mommy's little baby to this day, he will always come to you looking for mommy's hugs and kisses.
Bruce Wayne is a big surprise, you love him, you love his children but every time you leave you fear that he will return with another child.
—I love you, but please try to have control, we have too many children. - you laugh.
—I think it's over, don't worry.
-He is sure?
—I think so, I'm going to stop adopting for a bit.
—You need therapy. - you laugh kissing your husband.
—We should have a baby of our own. - Bruce grumbles. You laugh, getting up from the couch.
—We already have too many children. - you scream running to the kitchen.

Little Buddy
Arsenal Women x Teen!Reader
Summary: Three members of the team take you under their wing
Tumblr media
"There you are!" Steph said as you pulled open the car door, slipping inside and immediately placing your hands in front of the heater," I thought you got lost!"
You rolled your eyes. "Ha, ha," You said dryly," I didn't hear my alarm go off."
"Didn't your parents wake you up?" Steph pulled off from the curb, turning down the music from the radio.
"Dad's on the early morning shift and Mum was on the night one, she's knocked out in bed," You replied. You dug through your bag to check that you'd brought everything.
Waking up with twenty missed calls from Steph and another one coming in was not exactly the nicest wake up calls - especially when it was paired with getting dressed and ready for the day in under five minutes.
You yawned slightly as you tugged your bag closed again, head moving to rest against the rest.
"There's breakfast and a drink in the back for you," Steph said as she turned onto a roundabout. "You look like you need it. Have you eaten yet?"
You gave her a deadpan look at you leaned toward the back and snatched up the brown paper baggy. "Well, seeing as you woke me up this morning. I'll let you guess."
Steph laughed as you practically attacked your breakfast wrap. "I didn't think I would get your sass this early."
"Thanks," You said brightly, your mouth full of food," Leah calls it my moody teenage hormones."
"Don't listen to Leah," Steph said as she turned another corner," She's just jealous that you're younger and fitter than her."
Your ride to the training grounds made you feel much better than when you woke up and by the time you and Steph pulled up, you were energised and ready.
"Mornin'," Katie said, getting out of her car at the same time you two were.
"Morning," You said brightly and she groaned.
"How can you have this much energy so early?" Katie looked annoyed but you knew she wasn't by the way that she threw an arm over your shoulder and steered you inside.
"Steph gave me food!"
"This wave of energy is recent," Steph assured her," I had to get her up this morning. Her alarm didn't go off."
Katie gave you a look. "You parents couldn't get you up?"
You gave her the same excuse as you gave Steph. "Besides," You continued," It's not really a big deal. Mum and Dad are always busy. I'm pretty self-sufficient."
"You're sixteen," Katie deadpanned.
You shrugged. "And? I'm doing better than most kids my age." You puffed out your chest in pride. "I have a job."
Katie laughed, ruffling your hair as you approached the locker room. "Look at you, superstar!" She said, a hint of teasing in her tone," A job?! Wow!"
"Stop teasing me!" You batted her hands away as she continued to knock you about. "I'm going to bring this up in therapy in a few years!"
She laughed at you again, knowing that your threat was meaningless, but still let you scamper off to your cubby to change.
As usual, Alessia was already there. She wasn't changed yet though, typing away on her phone. You leaned over to read what she was saying. "You spelt that wrong."
She rolled her eyes but corrected herself. "Anything else, grammar police?"
"Actually, yes." You dug through your bag and pulled out your school planner. "I have to go in tomorrow morning and I need someone to sign off on my schoolwork." You offered her a pen.
"Gladly!" Alessia signed with a flourish and you gladly took your school book back.
"What?! Why couldn't I sign?!" Steph sounded outraged.
You rolled your eyes as you pulled your training shirt over your head. "Because you don't know a thing about my schoolwork."
"That's a lie!" She said and you sent her a pointed look.
"Oh, yeah?" You challenged," What classes do I take? Hell, where even is my school?"
"I know your address, isn't that enough?"
"Not when I need a responsible adult to sign off on my work."
This seemed to get Katie's attention.
"I'm responsible!"
"Yeah, for more than half of the yellow cards we get," You said with a laugh.
"Alright, that's it!" She leapt across the changing room and got you into a headlock. A rough noogie was pressed onto your head and no matter how much you tried to get away, Katie wouldn't release you.
"Say you're sorry!"
"Never!"
You howled with laughter as you were suddenly shoved into Steph, who hoisted you over her shoulder like you were nothing but a sack of potatoes.
"Don't know what you're laughing about, Russo," Katie said," You're next!"
●~●~●~●~
You panted as a cross came in from Katie. You barely had any space but you still went for it.
Your foot kicked out and connected with the ball. You didn't try to watch it go in, more focussed with landing on your feet after your bicycle kick.
But suddenly, you were eating dirt.
A body crashed into yours, pushing the air from your lungs.
You were stunned for a moment before you felt more force on your back and then the pressure was released. You gasped for breath, groaning in pain. You could feel a pain and ache in your face.
A hand turned you over and you looked up into Alessia's eyes. She looked concerned and reached out to steady you, helping you sit up. She wiped at your cheek.
"That was a nasty fall," She said," How are you feeling?"
You didn't answer at first, still struggling to draw in the breath that had been forced out of you. You smacked your chest a few times as Alessia rubbed your back.
"Wh-What happened?" Your breathing was still shaky but you had enough in you to speak.
"Ouahabi tried to stop your kick," Lessi said," Crashed into you as you landed. You wiped out." She rubbed a bit of dirt from your cheek and you leaned away, the pain becoming worse when she touched you.
"Did I get the goal?"
Steph laughed as she jogged over, catching your last question. "Of course you did."
"Did it look cool?"
"Real cool."
Together, she and Lessi got you to your feet. With the dirt rubbed off your face, it became clear to both of them that there would be a nasty bruise on your cheek in a couple of minutes.
It seemed Katie came to the same conclusion because she squared up to Ouahabi without prompting, shoving the other woman back with force.
"You wanna have a scrap?!" She demanded," I'll have a scrap if you really want!" She looked like she was a second or two from getting another yellow card so you hurried over and took her hand.
She quietened for a moment and allowed you to drag her away.
"You should watch your back, Ouahabi," Steph warned as Katie tucked you under her arm and walked you back to your position.
"I think I can handle McCabe for another two minutes or so, Catley."
Alessia stepped forward. She was taller than Ouahabi put not by much so they were practically eye to eye. "She wasn't talking about Katie."
Across the pitch, Katie wiped at your cheek. "We'll get some ice on that as soon as its full time. You're gonna have quite the shiner."
"It'll look cool though."

Cave Boy Danny is a dad and that one fact makes Tim less suspicious of him.
Because the contingency plan for Bruce is his kids. It's also really concerning HOW young Bruce is a parent. (How old is he?!)
And this story won't be complete without Dani showing up to cause mayhem while calling for her Father.
She commits to the bit without even knowing all the details. Or the bit.
So, in Cave Au, I had planned to have Danny call Dani, his adoptive sister, instead of his daughter to make the Waynes much more nervous about him, but I'll write a different Au for you to make up for it.
Dani Fenton is the new kid in Tim's class. She's moved with her single father, Daniel Fenton, from a small town in Minnesota. At first, there is not much to her, even with her large brian.
She's a scholarship girl with a mind for chemistry that could make any scientist green with envy. Her uniform must be better tailored, likely second-hand, because it hangs loosely around her body as if made for a taller girl. She doesn't talk to other students, often popping in headphones when they are dismissed to the next class or during breaks.
Most of Gotham Acadamy doesn't want to interact with her, and she's completely fine with returning the sentiment. Personally, Tim only noticed her because she had a Dumpty Humpty sticker on her laptop.
He's surprised to find anyone in his generation who even heard the band, much less enjoyed it enough to have merchandise. It was a rock band that was popular twenty years ago when Bruce was a teenager.
Tim only knows about them because Bruce sometimes puts them on when he wants to work on any Bat vehicles.
He recognized her sticker, but it wasn't a reason to go over and start a conversation with her. The only action this realization caused was Tim pulling up his playlist and pressing one of Dumpty Humpty's songs.
No, what caused him to talk to her was an incident that happened three weeks after she arrived at Gotham Acadamy. It's a well-known fact that scholarship kids were picked on. Even though Waynes attempted to curb the bullying, it still happened to the kids they gave financial assistance to.
Tim had stumbled across a group of girls surrounding Dani by the soccer field. She was sitting on the grassy hill overlooking the field, and around her were various art supplies. Dani had likely been painting when the girls had rudely interrupted her.
It didn't take any of his Bat training to see how they were mocking her, and he sped up just as one girl reached out to try and snatch her screech book out of her hand.
The key word being tried.
Dani had been much faster, for she not only tugged her book out of the bully's reach but also kicked out the feet from under the girl in the same motion.
"Nice try." Dani taunted, her accent just peeking through. "Now, do me a favor and get your daddy to buy you a yacht you can't drive instead of bothering me."
"At least my Dad has money!" The other girl screeched.
Dani snorted. "Oh boy, you really cut me where it hurts. How will I ever recover from that comeback?"
"You Bitch!" A blond girl yelled. Tim knows her. Tina Lumière, the youngest of Harry Lunmiere- a family who ran luxurious vacation services. A family that was always quick to lure in investors. She's been trying to flirt with Tim since Bruce took him in, convinced he'll fund her family business if she bats her eyelashes hard enough.
Tim hates interacting with her.
"Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. I'm a poor bitch that won't amount to anything, and I need to stay away from Timbo Dragon so you can go make rich stupid babies with him."
"That's not his name-"
"Look, I only have one day of the school week where I have a free period, and you're wasting it on this." Dani waves her hand around the group with an over-exaggerated squint. "I mean, honestly, why would I go after some guy? I'm a lesbian."
"You are?" The brunette in the circle of bullies asks, with too much interest. Dani sends her a wink, and the girl actually blushes. Tim is suddenly reminded of Steph, and that causes him to smile.
"That's not his name!" Tina shouts, stepping in between the flirting girls. Dani's face clouds over in distaste as she continues. "His name is Timothy Drake. I know you're lying about not being interested in him! I saw you staring at him in biology."
"I was looking at his rock band sweater. It's a band my dad likes-"
"Shut up!" Tina slaps Dani across the face, seemingly smug, but it doesn't last long since the raven-haired girl springs up with a nasty right hook.
It hits Tina right in the eye, knocking the girl down like her friend. She screams, which triggers all her friends to jump at Dani. Despite being smaller and outnumbered, Dani gives as good as she gets, throwing a girl over her shoulder and punching another in the throat.
Tim picked up his speed, walking into a fast run. He barely has the mind to pull out his phone and point it in the group's direction. "Hey, break it up! Break it up!"
The two holding onto Dani's hair let go like they've been burned. If a teacher had tried to stop the fight, they wouldn't have gotten far, but Tim is a Wayne. They have much more power than some poor staff.
"Tim," Tina wails. Her eye is already starting to bruise. She's going to look terrible for a while while it heals. "She attacked me!"
"No, she didn't," He says, rolling his eyes. He waves his phone at them. "Don't lie. I recorded the whole thing. Also, harassing others is super unattractive."
He didn't, but they don't know that. Tina's face falls apart as he helps Dani get her things and then escorts her to the main building. He doubts that will stop her harassment, but hopefully, it will detain them long enough for him to find a better solution.
"Thanks," Dani says after they finish walking. "That was cool of you."
"Don't mention it." He gives her a standard Wayne-dizzy smile. "What of mine sweater were you talking about?"
She grins. "The Dumpty Humpty one.'
"Oh yeah, that's my dad's. He loves the band."
Her eyes light up. "Mine does, too. Maybe we can get our dads to meet and discuss it."
Great. Dani Fenton was another opportunist trying to get Bruce to meet her parents. Pity.
"I'm sure there will be a chance in the future. Maybe the parent-teacher conferences, we'll run into each other," He says with a laugh, not giving her a direct answer. Dani nods and then walks off to her next class. He reports the girls, compiles enough evidence, and when he's sure the school will step in, he doesn't think about the afternoon.
Then, four months later, it's parent-teacher conferences. Bruce and Tim are just about finished visiting all his teachers, that are falling over themselves to get on Brucie's good side when Dani appears, dragging her dad behind her.
"That's him." She says, and Daniel's face lights up.
"You're the Dumpty Humpty fan?" He asks Bruce. His dad has no choice but to play along even though Tim knows he's dead tired and wants to go home.
"Of course. Who doesn't love a good Fairy Tale Ending to listen to on the way home?" Bruce laughs, and Daniel's grin widens.
"That's great, but I like Bloody Prince Charming more. Daniel Fenton, by the way." He holds his hand, and Bruce shakes it slightly more interest now. It's not that Dumpty Humpty isn't just old; it wasn't popular in this part of the country, so it's even rarer to find fans in Gotham.
"Bruce Wayne."
"Nice to meet ya!" Daniel chirps- seeing anyone other than Dick be that cheerful is odd. "Wish we can talk more, but I got to get to this one's art class."
"Of course," Bruce says, even though he's surprised they walked away so quickly without asking for anything more of them. Most try swinddle a second meeting somehow.
Dani waves Tim goodbye, and the Fentons are off down the hall, chatting between them in ordinary, eased tones. It's odd but a forgotten interaction for Tim after a few days.
Not so much for Bruce.
Tim finds out a month later that Bruce not only met up with Mr. Fenton again but even asked for his number on their second meeting. Then the two men went out for dinner, went to the mall, went shopping, and even did some charity fundraiser together.
Bruce would often message Daniel that it felt like he was the new teenager. Tim still did not think it odd.
Only when Damian burst into his room, dragging the rest of their siblings in. The youngest had called on a sibling meeting to discuss a new issue that worried him about Bruce.
"Tim, who is Father's suitor, and what are his intentions with Father?" The boy asked after everyone had settled.
"What?"
"Babybat has a point. I haven't seen Bruce this interested since Catwoman first appeared," Dick added. "I really hope this lover sticks around."
"What lover?" Tim questions Jason, who shrugs.
"A Daniel Fenton? The old man has been going steady with him for about a month now. Haven't you noticed? You were the one that introduced him."
"No, I've been focused on the Phantom case," Tim says, gesturing to the board covered in red yarn and a news clipping of the new hero.
Phantom had appeared a while back, going through the city and helping the little people. He's even harder to catch a glimpse of then Batman, but he's been helping to slowly cut down the pity crime and muggings, letting the Bats focus on the big guns like the Rouges.
The Bats had been trying to pin him down to offer assistance and gradated for all his hard work. They just catch him since Phantom is a meta and always slips away at the last second.
"Whatever the case may be." Damian started up again. "We must protect Father from those with less than honorable intentions."
"Hear, Hear," Steph and Duke cry, lifting up their juice boxes that Cass had passed out. It wasn't a proper sibling meeting without snacks.
"He can't be all bad," Tim said. "He's a single father."
"Having a kid makes him more worthy?"
"In my experience, step-parents have been really great." But Dana was incredible like that, so maybe Tim put too much faith in Bruce's dating life.
They all agree to closely monitor Daniel Fenton and his daughter Dani. There may be more than meets the eye.

Can I request one with Leah boyfriend vibes where she's like an annoying teenage boyfriend to the point where we get really mad at her and she gets super soft until we're all right back and then she just goes back to annoying us like always
I feel like that's literally Leah. That cocky smile does things to me
I really love your work 🫶🥹
Tumblr media
teenage love II l.williamson
"honey i'm hoome!" you heard your girlfriend sing out sarcastically as her keys jingled in the front door. "hi baby." you greeted happily, the girl dropping her kit bag by the front door. "oh leah get off you're all sweaty!" you whined in disgust as she wrapped you in a hug, just having finished training for the day.
"training went really really well, thank you for asking baby that's so kind of you to care how my career is going." the taller girl sighed dramatically, refusing to loosen her grip on you as you struggled to get away. "go have a shower." you finally pulled away, shoving her off you as the blonde only grinned.
"you secretly love it." she blew you a kiss and a sharp slap echoed around the room as she smacked your bum before jogging upstairs before you could tell her off for it.
with a roll of your eyes you disapeared back into the laundry, folding your girlfriends clean washing and humming along to the song playing from your phone tucked in your back pocket. you didn't hear leah return however a pile of dirty clothes landing on your head certainly alerted you to her presence.
"seriously?" you turned quickly with a glare and yanked them off, throwing them at her in distaste as she only gave you a cheeky smile and moved next to you to load them into the machine.
"you're so annoying." you grumbled under your breath, smacking her hands away as they poked at your side and she was momentarily distracted by fiddling around with the settings of the washer.
"oh my god move i'll do it." you sighed in frustration, pushing her to the side and setting up the machine, clicking for it to began the cycle, glaring at the blonde over your shoulder as she once again smacked your bum with a cheeky smile.
"even though i know that you know how to use the washer." you warned her as she pulled herself to sit up on the dryer, well aware leah only pretended not to know how to do things knowing you'd just take over and do them for her.
"excuse me babe i don't take lightly to these heinous accusations." the blonde gasped, clutching a hand to her chest as you ignored her and went back to folding her clean clothes.
"don't." you warned as your girlfriend kicked you lightly from behind, swinging her long legs as she remained perched on the dryer with a grin. you bit your tongue as she did it again and again, hoping she'd get bored and leave if you just ignored her, which usually worked since she had the attention span about as long as a blink.
you got your wish as she hopped down from the dryer, kissing your cheek sweetly as she passed by. though the nice moment was ruined as she pushed over the neatly folded stack of clothes, sprinting out of the room as they toppled to the floor.
"leah!" you yelled after her, dragging your hands down your face with a groan. "honestly and she's supposed to be older?" you muttered to yourself with a huff as you shoved her clean clothes into a basket.
"here's your clothes and your kit for tomorrow, fold them or leave them on the floor. i don't care!" you dumped the basket upside down beside the blonde on the lounge. "oh these are so warm, how did you know i was cold?" the taller girl made a point to lay down among the pile of clothes with a content sigh.
you bit the inside of your cheek as she smiled at you smugly, turning on heel and walking away, determined not to give her the satisfaction of your annoyance, you could swear she was a sixteen year old teenage boy and not a twenty six year old woman.
how she could switch from being so serious and stone faced on the pitch to sometimes the most infuriatingly immature human being you've ever met was a mystery you were yet to solve. she was lucky she was so annoyingly attractive and you were so in love with her or else you may have covered up her murder by now.
having a rare moment of peace you put away your own clean clothes in the bedroom, hearing the occasional pelt of your girlfriends laughter from downstairs as she entertained herself with a movie.
with a sigh you put away the trainers she'd tossed around the room when trying to decide which pair to wear today, full well knowing it would be you who tripped over them in three days time when they were still there.
you let out a loud scream as the tall blonde zapped you in the ribs from behind, you'd not even heard her come up. "don't do that!" you breathed out shakily, shoving her away with a glare. "i'm sorryyy." she sung out, pulling you into a hug as you kept your arms by your side.
"oh baby you've forgotten how to hug. well look we get these, and we put them here-" the girl grabbed your wrists, wrapping your arms around her back. "and then we squeeze!" you yelped as she suddenly picked you up off the ground, forcing you to cling onto her tightly.
"-and thats how you hug, you're welcome." the girl smirked, her hands gripping your thighs holding you up.
"you're insufferable you know that?"
~
"oo can i have a sandwich please babe?" you asked politely as your girlfriend returned to her spot beside you on the lounge, your errands for the day finally done meaning you could relax.
"sure. the bread is over there, and the ham is in the fridge." leah answered with a mouthful of food, pointing over her shoulder, eyes zoned in on the tv as you scoffed. "you're literally the worst." you smacked her leg hard and stood to your feet.
"oh thank you." your own sandwich that you made was snatched from your hand as you sat back down, leah taking a large bite as you stared at the smirking blonde in disbelief. you launched yourself at her as she laughed and held it out of reach, easily a good foot or two taller than you were.
"do you really want to do this? you know i'll win." leah grinned as you tried to grab your food back, climbing practically on top of her. "gimme it! god you're so annoying!" you grunted, leah taking another bite of the sandwich to spite you as she pushed you easily away with her free hand.
"leah!" you glared as she pressed her foot to your chest, long legs holding you off as she continued to eat your sandwich. "okay i have had enough!" you snapped, shooting to your feet as your girlfriend took the final bite, making a point to lick her fingers clean.
"you are always going out of your way to wind me up, you purposefully do the most basic tasks wrong so that i have to do them, you can't pick up after yourself, i do all the cooking and the cleaning, you lick your fucking finger and shove it in my ear, you-" you continued to rant, leah simply watching you with a cocky smile and her arms folded over her chest, man spreading arrogantly as she always did.
"what the fuck are you smiling at?" you spat, face twisted into a murderous glare with your fists balled by your sides. "you, you're just so gorgeous." she complimented, taking you off guard a little as you came down to earth, un-clenching your hands and taking a deep breath.
"come here." the blonde chuckled, grabbing the waistband of your shorts and tugging you to sit on her lap. "i love you so very much my girl, and i appreciate everything you do for me. it doesn't go unnoticed and i'll make more of an effort to help out." leah spoke, rarely serious for once as you nodded.
"that would be nice, thank you." "but not all the time...you look way too fit when you're pissed off with me." "god you are annoying."

thinking about Max and the Munson's living across the way from each other post s3 again, but maybe specifically Max living across the way from Wayne post s3.
Wayne Munson knows what a kid looks like when they hide behind well practiced and carefully crafted defense mechanisms, after all, and he recognizes a kid with too much responsibility on their shoulders.
He sees this teenage girl with the pigtails and the hard eyes who doesn't answer the door when her friends come to call even though Wayne saw her sitting on the porch twenty minutes ago; who is always the one bringing groceries home on foot even when her mom's car is there; whose bedroom light is too frequently on when Wayne gets home before the sun even has the chance to think about rising.
And he's not gonna overstep about it, he has no intention of making this girl uncomfortable because he is a stranger to her and he knows how both he and Eddie look on a first glance, wouldn't blame her for not being entirely trusting, but he keeps an eye out for her anyway.
Tells Eddie too-- "She's home alone a lot, you make sure no one tries takin' advantage, hear?"-- even if Eddie is mostly preoccupied with his own shit most of the time, because if Wayne can recognize a kid hiding, a kid carrying too much around on that skateboard of hers, then Eddie certainly can too.
"You adopting another stray, old man?" is Eddie's response, but he glances out through the blinds at the trailer across the way with a heaviness to his shoulders in understanding at the sight of that girl sitting on the porch with her headphones on and a school book in her lap that she's decidedly not paying any attention.
"Something like that," Wayne claps him on the shoulder, squeezes as he passes by, but he doesn't think anything will really come of it.
There's not much they can do except keep an eye out, carry the Mayfields' paper up to the porch on rainy days so it won't get soggy and unreadable, offer a wave and a kind word and a reminder that "if your Mama ain't home and you need something, you just give us a knock," despite the brush off he gets every time.
And then one night-- one morning really, before the sun is about to rise-- Wayne pulls up at home after his shift to find Eddie standing out in the snow, odd enough in and of itself made odder by the fact he isn't alone.
"--don't know what you think you're gonna accomplish here at four in the goddamned morning, Harrington, but--"
"I mean, that doesn't feel like any of your business."
"You're parked outside my home, yeah it's my business," Eddie gestures broadly at the unfamiliar BMW the two of them are standing next to as Wayne clambers out of his own truck on tired legs and overworked shoulders.
He needs a hot shower, a good, long sleep.
But Eddie is getting in this other kid's face and it's--
"I'm parked outside that home," Harrington, big coat and gloves but thin pajama pants poking out underneath it all, points at the Mayfield trailer with exhausted exasperation and something tinged with a bit more urgency too, "and I don't know you, man, nothing I do is any of your business--"
"Steve come in-- do you have visual yet, over?"
"Jesus Christ," Harrington reaches into the front seat of his car, yanks out a radio that has Wayne's eyebrows shooting up even as he approaches them, the impatient and anxious shift of Eddie's untied sneakers in the December slush. "Gimme a minute," he says into the walkie-talkie, "I told you I'd call when I did."
"Yeah, but it only takes you ten minutes to drive to her place and--"
Harrington shoves the antenna down and shuts the thing off, just as Wayne finally stops beside his nephew with a hand at his elbow.
"Everything alright here, boys?"
Wayne knows his kid, is the thing, so he knows the protective tension in the cross of those arms, the furrow of his brow, knows that Eddie is maybe seeing himself in Max Mayfield a little too fully on this night, dragged out of his bed by god only knows what to argue with a Harrington in the brisk wind of winter.
And Wayne knows his kid, so he recognizes the work of his jaw when he's about to burst out into a spiel to make himself the target instead of whoever he's put behind him this time around, but he doesn't get the chance to start before he's being interrupted.
"Steve, why are you harassing my neighbors."
Flat and unimpressed but shaky around the edges like she's not quite getting enough air, the orange glow of the light inside her trailer spilling out past her into the blue of night as Steve Harrington's legs all but give out with a breath of--
"Oh, thank god," he shuts the door to his car behind him as he takes a few steps closer to him, Eddie trailing like he's ready to literally put his body between them instead of just figuratively, "are you okay?"
"I'm not the one driving around town in the middle of the night, what are you doing here?" she crosses her arms, doesn't leave the cracked doorway at the top of the steps and Harrington doesn't try to climb them either.
And then it's a quick, well-punctuated punch of a conversation in which Wayne feels like he's missing about half the facts, standing by nonetheless.
"Lucas walkied."
"I told him I was fine."
"You called him at three A.M. and hung up on him without explanation," Steve points out surprisingly levelly.
"Yeah. After I told him I was fine."
"Max."
"I thought I wanted to talk about it and changed my mind."
"You know he'd listen."
"I can't-- you know I can't--"
"Yes you can."
"Not about him. Not to Lucas."
"To me, then," Steve throws his hands up in exasperation, and Wayne can feel something crackling in the air.
It's the same thing that had been there the first handful of times Eddie had picked a fight with Wayne after he first moved to Hawkins, looking for the line, looking for how far he could go before it all went to shit again.
Wayne knows this girl, even if he doesn't know her, because years ago he'd brought a boy with a buzzcut for a visit and he'd never left.
Which is maybe why he speaks up even though he knows how that boy would've reacted.
"If you need something, kiddo..."
"I need everyone to leave me alone," she snaps, striding out all the way onto the porch, only the bravado of it falters when the door slams shut behind her and she all but jumps out of her skin. "Fuck. God, shit, that door--"
She opens it again, yanks it nearly off its hinges just to slam it once more like she's trying to break the thing.
And now she's definitely not getting enough air. Now she's--
"Max, hey, alright--"
"Buddy, I dunno--"
"Back off, Munson, this is really not your business," Harrington shoves past Eddie and strides up the steps as Max slumps down onto the top one, arms wrapped around herself and Eddie looks ready to fight but Wayne just.
He doesn't know Steve Harrington, doesn't even really know his family beyond the way of small towns and knowing names and the neighborhoods in which they reside, but he knows a kid in distress leaning towards safety even if they don't believe they deserve it and Max Mayfield is leaning towards him.
Not Wayne, not Eddie, but this kid with the walkie-talkie and-- is he wearing two different shoes?
Wayne waits the compulsory moment to see Max really fall apart, right there into the fabric of Steve's coat as she keeps her hands tucked under her arms but catches her breath with that one point of contact-- forehead to shoulder-- as Steve speaks gently, words getting caught in the wind. As she stutters out rattling feelings right back.
"The door slammed when she left for work and I-- thought he was-- back again-- I thought-- and I shouldn't've-- not Lucas-- not for, for this--"
Wayne crosses the distance between him and Eddie, hand on his shoulder dragging him out of his own head, wherever it is he goes when his gaze goes glassy and tired like it does now in the gray glow of this place as the snow starts up again.
"You did good," Wayne murmurs, tugging Eddie back towards their own home, just across the way. "Good job, Ed, she's gonna be okay."
"She's..." Eddie clears his throat, looks so much younger than he is for a moment.
"Being looked after," Wayne says with a certainty he wouldn't have felt about the matter a day ago, Eddie following him listlessly back up the steps to the unlocked front door. "You did good."
"I didn't do anything," Eddie frowns, the pink of his cheeks and his nose practically glowing once they're inside.
"You showed her you've got her back," Wayne tells him without room for argument, pulling off his winter coat and moving to heat up water on the stove even as Eddie peeks through the curtains again, seemingly unable to accept that nothing bad is going to happen tonight.
Wayne can't be sure what put him in this state of mind, how he even got alerted to Harrington's arrival in the first place, but he knows he'll find his way back to solid ground soon enough.
Hot tea and warm clothes, when Wayne pulls Eddie away from the window, he catches sight of Steve speaking into the walkie with one hand and holding Max to rest against his shoulder with the other.
He'll make sure they get out of the cold before he goes to bed, but for now he has his own kid to sit with in the ghosts of past hauntings brought back to life for the night.
"We gotta keep an eye out for her," Eddie mutters as he accepts the mug Wayne hands him, feet tucked up under a blanket on the couch.
Wayne sits down next to him and props his tired feet up on the coffee table with a heavy breath.
"We will," he says, because he knows there's no discouraging Eddie now.
The kid learned his habit for picking up strays from somewhere, after all.

Hi!! If it’s okay, can I please request an Adrian Chase x soft and innocent!fem!reader where they are coworkers at Fennel Fields, him being a busboy, and she is a waitress. The two of them have feelings for each other, Adrian just trying to get the confidence to ask her out. A group of guys come in every week are super loud, rude, and also make Y/n (who is taking their order) very uncomfortable, and when Y/n turns down their advances, they say some very mean things and make her cry. Adrian is absolutely FUMING, literally having to hold himself back from going at them right then and there, instead following her to the kitchen try to calm her down (in his own Adrian way), promising to “take care of it” . She 100% thinks he means kicking them out, but the group of men get a “visit” from Vigilante… the group “disappears” without a trace “, never to bother Y/n again.
Adrian softly kissing a very relieved Y/n when the men don’t return to the restaurant, she doesn’t know about Adrian’s Vigilante side nor does she know the fate of the group of men, but Adrian takes it as a compliment nonetheless

Character: Adrian Chase x InnocentFem!Reader
Type: Fluff/Comfort, Angst
Length: 2.7k words
Summary: Request above!
Trope: Best friends to lovers, Co-workers to lovers
A/N: I have not done anything for Adrian in a while and I love him so much aaaaaaa! I bent the request ever so slightly. Also, let me know if I should make a part two of this but it’s Adrian’s POV 😉
"God that group is back." I hissed. "How do they always manage to get seated in my section?" Me and Adrian eyed them from the kitchen.
"I don't know but they never tip well either. I think all the tattoo ink got into their brains or something." Adrian glared at the noisy group. I smiled at his joke. He always lightened the mood and I was forever thankful for that.
"God it's twenty minutes until closing why do they always come in here late?" I grumbled folding my arms.
The group was dreadful and I have no idea how they haven't gotten in any section but mine yet. They've been showing up the past 3 weeks on Saturday nights and past close. Me and Adrian had plans ruined because of those guys. I've been working here for 1 year and a half (Adrian for longer) and I've never had a worse group of customers.
Usually, the worst is an old lady who asks for the manager when the food isn't exactly to her liking. Or a group of teenage boys who don't buy anything they just sit there and be as loud as possible.
Sometimes me and Adrian went to see movies together on Fridays or had plans with friends and I loved it. That's what made me look forward to the end of the week but with this lousy group of 40-year-old biker guys trashing the tables and leaving sometimes a zero-dollar tip was starting to have the opposite effect on me.
"You know I can take the table for you. I know they're pretty shitty guys." He looked at me and I shook my head softly. His green eyes dazzling in the heat lamps made me almost take back rejecting the offer. When he looked at me the way he did it made my heart flutter. They were so careful and easy.
"You take over my shifts all the time Adrian. The least I can do is deal with one unpleasant table. I can do it." I looked back at him with determination. Besides he was only a busboy, not a waiter though I'm sure he could do the job just fine.
It was true though. Every time I was sick he took over no questions asked. Sometimes he even encouraged me to call out sick when all I had was a cough. He was my best friend after all but he always went above and beyond with the way he treated me.
Sure my other co-workers were nice like Taylor treated me nicely but never as nice as Adrian. From the get-go, he was kind to me always guiding me to where things were or making small talk with me to help get me though my shifts. He was never afraid to give me a hand in anything I needed.
He looked very unsure of my decision but he didn't protest as I left to deal with said table. Though I could still feel his eyes glued to my back. I pushed open the door and
I strode over there with a sudden burst of confidence. I could do it. Then when It's all over me and Adrian can go back to his apartment and watch movies all night like usual.
As soon as I reached the table that confidence slowly started to melt away.
They were a group of 5, all big-looking, and they were like I said a biker gang. Sometimes I hate my job.
"Hello I'm Y/n I'll be your server today can I get you any drinks to start with?" My hands trembled as they gripped the sides of my apron. Whistles filled the air as the men's eyes wandered across my body. Some even leaned over to get better looks at me.
"Looking good honey!" I laughed nervously trying to be as polite as I could to them.
I felt so incredibly uncomfortable. I felt my cheeks getting hot. I was even embarrassed to be close to them. I cleared my throat trying to get them to reply to the simple task at hand.
"Waters for all of us." What I was sure the group leader spoke out. "Please, baby." He added. His group let out an array of deep chuckles. I felt sweat start to appear on my skin. I smiled and walked off in the back. As soon as my backs were to them my smile vanished off my face.
Oh god, it's barely been 5 minutes with them and I already want to leave. Once I got back there Adrian was still standing in the same spot looking at me with a pleading look.
"Don't look at me with those eyes." Those pleading begging green eyes.
"You can still take my offer you know." He pressed his lips together. "Because you look like you need that help. It's not like a bad look or anything but you look kind of helpless. In a good way." Adrian rambled. I've known him for so long I could decipher any message he gave me.
"It's fine I can handle it," I said firmly. I wasn't going to let them get the better of me. Just seeing and having Adrian here made it better.
He was a complete nerd and I loved having someone like that. I loved hearing him talk about DND and all of his hobbies. Then I got to start doing it out of work too.
We even set up a DND campaign at one point. It was a little confusing at first but playing with him made me understand. The memories of us together made me way more relaxed.
I poured those glasses of water and put them all onto a tray and held it with one hand. I pushed the door open almost spilling them in the process and walked back to the table.
"There she is!" One of them shouted. I placed all of the glasses on the table without a word trying to keep my cool.
I watched some make extremely disgusting gestures. Just 20 more minutes and you can go home. Just 20 more long excruciating minutes.
"She's a beauty isn't she fellas?" The main one asked. I swallowed thickly not excited for their replies. I did not have the energy for this today.
"Oh definitely would talk her home. You single honey?" One of them eyed me.
"Uhm yes, I am I'm just not looking for anything like that right now." I lied trying to get him to understand the message.
"Nah she's lying they're always in the market." My feet wouldn't move. I felt scared. Uncomfortable. Where's Adrian? I shouldn't have taken this table. "Come give me a chance honey!" He begged. Can't this guy take a hint?
"No, thank you I'm sorry." I tried to stay as polite as possible. "What would you guys like to-" I was instantly cut off.
"It's not like her makeup hides much." They laughed. I felt ashamed to be here.
"And she could smile more. Where's our cute smile sweetie?" I couldn't smile to save my life. I would not give them what they wanted. My lips trembled.
"Nah her smile would be ugly too we can't ask for something she doesn't have." The table erupted in laughter.
"Look at her she's a doll. She could get any guy she wanted."
“Maybe she’s a slut. No wonder she's not in the market she just sleeps around!” Barked another.
I looked up to see Adrian cleaning some dishes from a couple tables in front of them.
He was looking at me because he had clearly heard that nasty remark. His eyebrows were furrowed and he looked red with anger. He was seething and I could see his hand gripping the rag he was holding tightly.
Then the dam in my eyes broke. Tears started to brim my eyes and I stormed back into the kitchen quickly. As I left I heard them start to laugh louder. I shoved open the outside door and sat on the picnic bench we had out there.
I leaned my head in my hands and let the tears spill over my cheeks. I couldn't think about anything other than their words and how humiliated I felt. I felt like screaming at them but I just couldn't. That wasn't how I was.
Who did they think they were? Coming into our restaurant and treating me like shit for what reason? Do they have nothing better to do with their life?
I heard the door swing open and I tried to cover up my sniffling but it was no use. It slammed shut and I heard quick footsteps trot over to the bench. I already knew it was Adrian so I let him sit next to me. As soon as he put his arm around me it all came rushing back out.
"Hey hey, I'm right here." He whispered softly, I wrapped my arms around his back and in that moment he was all that mattered. I just wanted to have Adrian by my side. He awkwardly patted my back.
"Thank you." I wiped my cheeks which now had mascara smeared down them. "I'm a mess," I complained to him. He didn't say anything he just kept holding me. I knew he could struggle with comforting and with words in general sometimes. "You don't have to stay here you know. I'm already in trouble for abandoning my table i don't need you getting into it too." I frowned.
"Oh no, I'm staying." I snuggled myself into his side. "They don't deserve you. They're dicks who don't know how to treat women and that feels like a crime. They had no right to insult you like that." I nodded trying to listen to his words but I still felt shitty. "And that's like so not cool." He said and finally, a small smile spread across my face. He let out a built-up sigh of relief that I was starting to feel a bit better.
"I know. It still hurts though."
"No matter what those guys say they're so wrong." I looked up at him and he was already glancing at me. "You look so beautiful without makeup. I'm not saying you look bad with makeup on I mean like the complete opposite." I started to grin at his ranting.
"Thank you A. It means a lot." He enjoyed the small nickname. He continued to rub small circles into my back relaxing me.
"But those guys will never bother you again." He said still heated by the situation. "I'll make sure of it and because I really like you okay?" He confessed. "And seeing you hurt like that hurt me." he stared at the ground.
The confession threw me off. I always stressed about him liking me but hearing those words fall from his lips felt bewitching. I pulled away from him and looked at him eye to eye.
"Oh fuck I mean!" His cheeks grew pink. "Like I like having you as a friend not like in like I've been crushing on you since I've laid eyes on you and have been dreaming about you or anything because that would be like..." I leaned closer to him and brushed my thumb against his cheek. His face was warm and soft beneath my hand. "crazy." He whispered finishing his sentence.
"Don't lie to me right now Chase." I frowned. He sighed as he realized he'd been caught.
"Okay yeah, maybe I really like you." His eyes never once left me. "And maybe I have been dreaming about you since I first saw you."
"You better not be joking with me right now. Or I will continue to cry ."
"Okay um do not cry again please I already handled the first time poorly. But I am certainly not kidding." I moved my hand from his cheek to his hand which was much larger than mine.
"You better not be because I like you too." He blinked a few times trying to determine if I was the one joking around this time. He moved a stray piece of hair out of my face and tucked it neatly behind my ear. His eyes flickered down towards my lips and back up to my eyes. Was he really about to kiss me right now?
He swiftly closed the gap between us and captured my lips in a phenomenal kiss. Maybe he wasn't all nerdy after all because damn he knew how to kiss. Sure I have barely kissed anyone my whole life but he made it feel so right. He slowly pulled back to look at my face.
"Was that okay? If it wasn't I can totally like stop. I don't mind at all." I squeezed his hand and hugged him.
"It was perfect. Thank you." For having such a shitty night he made me realize the better. Like how the stars seemed to shine just a bit brighter than before and the moon was glowing just a little more than it just had. All because of Adrian
"How about I go deal with them and I also go grab our stuff since it's about time we clock out we have a fun relaxing night tonight?" He proposed.
"I would love nothing more."
"Good. Now you wait here!"
-
Once I got inside his apartment I immediately collapsed and melted into his couch with a loud dramatic sigh. He had probably the most comfortable apartment imaginable.
"Oh shit." I heard him hiss.
"What's wrong?"
"I was supposed to drop by the store after our shift to grab some things from the store..." He trailed off looking sheepish.
"Go ahead, Adrian. I know it will be all you talk about if you don't." He nodded before muttering a quick 'thank you' and leaving.
I had a really long day in general so as much as I wanted to I did not feel like waiting up for him. I left my work bag on the couch and wandered to his room.
His bookshelf overflowed with books and tabletop games, His bed was slightly messy from the morning, and it felt like him. I dug through his dresser to find this shirt that had a cool-looking dragon and a D20 on it. I took off my apron and work shirt and threw it on. I really hope he doesn't mind.
I threw my shoes somewhere on his floor and crumbled onto his bed. God his blankets were so soft.
-
It had been an hour before Adrian finally made his way home. He took off his mask and suit and tucked it away in the hall closet once he got home. He'd deal with all the blood later.
He walked through the hall and pushed open the door to see his best friend asleep on his bed in his shirt. He couldn't be happier to come home to this. She finally looked at ease snuggled beneath his covers.
Adrian scooted himself into his bed and joined her. He placed a small gentle kiss on her forehead and spooned her.
"They won't hurt you again." He whispered before allowing himself to drift off to sleep with her in his arms.
-
I waited afraid week after week to see that group come back but they never did. Nor the week after that or the next. I soon started to get curious about what Adrian meant when he said he'd "deal with them." Did he get the manager involved? Did he really have that strong effect on them? Maybe he even beat them up. He's too soft for that right?
Anyway, I was just happy to be with the one I've crushed on for so long. It felt good. Better than anything has ever been.
Tonight we were staying in on the couch while we waited for the popcorn to finish in the microwave of his apartment. The smell drifted through the room making me even more hungry than I was before.
"I'm glad they're gone." I looked up at him. His glasses glowed from the light of his phone.
"Me too. I hate seeing you upset." I leaned on his shoulder and my eyes wandered quickly over to his phone. Just a quick peek it wouldn't mean anything. He was texting Chris who according to him was his guy best friend. I had met him a few times for drinks after work and he was a pretty alright guy. I scanned the words and...
I finally got to use the chainsaw on those guys :)
What does that mean?

I’m On Fire, But I’m Trying Not to Show It || Chapter Three
Tumblr media
Pairing: Angus Tully x fem!reader
a/n: Mothers and daughters?? Fathers and sons?!?
Word Count: ~4k
Find: Part 1 Part 2
Enjoy!
December 23, 1970
You’ve been stuck in your own mind all day. It's decided to shut down like a panic room and you can see Angus try to crack it open with his attempts at small talk. Mary and Mr. Hunham share uncomfortable glances at each other, slightly humored about the quiet lunch they are having that would usually be filled by chatter from you two.
Angus leans in close to your ear, “You said we would talk today.”
“After this,” you murmur, sinking into the wooden chair.
“If this is about yesterday, it was just a weird moment, it didn’t mean anything.”
“Stop talking,” you say as nicely as you can when you see Mary's eyebrow quirk up at Angus’s comment.
“I have a surprise,” Mr. Hunham suddenly announces. Your eyes snap to him, embracing the distraction. He brings out a platter full of Christmas cookies and places them on the table. “These were a gift to me, and I would like to share them with both of you.”
Angus is unimpressed and by the way he is scowling, he's upset too. “Look at them. Look at all the festive shapes. Snowflakes and gingerbread men. A tree. A little mitten,” Mr. Hunham picks up the red and white frosted cookie and takes a bite. “Mmm,” he looks pleasantly surprised.
“Thank you, Mister. This is really nice,” You reach for the snowflake. You’re not sure how well sloppy joe and sugar will settle in your stomach but you're willing to gamble on it. Mr. Hunham gives you a thin smile.
“May I go to the bathroom, sir?” Angus asks, already pushing away his dish and getting up from his chair.
“You may,” he sighs, watching the boy walk away.
“Well, I’m trying,” he says to the group, defeated.
You give him a weak grin, “These are good cookies though. If that means anything to you.”
Mary chuckles at your exchange. Mr. Hunham gets up and goes the same direction Angus had exited. Your eyes follow him until it is impossible for you to see him without breaking your neck. You turn to Mary who is close to finishing her cigarette. She blows the smoke away from your direction and pushes the packet towards you.
“Want one?”
“Oh. No thanks. That's Angus’s thing.”
“Alright. But don’t go asking for one later.”
“I won’t,” you laugh quietly. You hear voices in the hallway get louder. Angus shouts something you can’t make out and Mr. Hunham's response follows shortly after. Their noise fades away and you rub your tired eyes to snap you awake. You never could get enough sleep. You swear you could sleep for twenty-four hours and still feel groggy.
“What's going on with you two?” Mary asks.
“Angus and I?”
“No. You and the ghost that haunts the infirmary,” she took a sip of her coffee while shaking her head in amusement.
“My mother says I'm a bit of a blabbermouth. I don’t know if you want to hear the details,” you warn.
“Give me the reader's digest,” she pats the seat next to her. Bringing your coca-cola with you, you go cross over to her side of the table. “Okay. Tell me if you think I’m crazy-”
“I will.”
“-But Angus has been acting so weird. One second, he's all moody, a regular Holden Claufield, and the next he’s nice and being the Angus I’ve known all my life. I don’t know… Maybe he’s at the stage where his feelings swing around like a pendulum.”
“That's all-teenagers sweethearts. Even at adulthood, that pendulum never stops swinging. At some point it may slow down only for a gust of wind to return it into motion.”
“I mean he’s always been a little short-tempered, just never towards me. Yesterday,” you wonder if you are getting too personal now, “he called me selfish.”
“Selfish? The girl that just scarfed down a cookie to make an old man feel better.”
You shrug. You never knew how to take compliments. “I know I should just ask him what's really going on, but I don’t want him to blow up on me again.”
“If he does come to me. I’ll whip him into shape for you.”
“Thank you,” you giggle. “What do you think happened out there?” You tilt you heard towards the doors.
“Their usual bickering. That boy is probably paying the price for cursing Hunham out right now.”
“How long have you known Mr. Hunham?”
She paused before answering, “A while now.”
“Has he always been this… strong-willed?”
“Stubborn as a mule you mean? Yes, he has. Although the years have certainly hardened him more.”
“Why’s that?"
“Not sure. He’s a private man. I haven’t been able to pry anything out of him.”
“Not even when he’s,” you make your hand into a fist, extending the pink and thumb. You move it back and forth to mimic drinking from a bottle.
Mary cackles. “Not even then.”
The stupidest thing Angus had done was what he had done to you yesterday. He doesn’t know why he said it, why he had called you selfish. It just tumbled out. It was like he was a man possessed. But launching off a springboard in the gym in an act of rebellion was a close second.
He numbed the pain thinking of you. Granted if you were here, you would be lecturing him non-stop and telling him how he should have known better. But at least you would have been here, and he wouldn’t have to watch Mr. Hunham marinate in his misery. At least you would have been there to hold his hand as they popped his arm back into its socket.
Although his mouth had gotten him in trouble the last few days, it had been helpful in getting them out of the hospital insurance issue. And it was about to get him a free burger now too.
They had arrived at the local watering hole. It was jam packed with people getting tipsy with beer. He could hear the clink of billiards and the white noise on the TV.
“I think I’ll start with a beer. How about you?”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Mr. Tully. Get your cheeseburger.”
“They’ve got Miller High Life. The Champagne of Beers.”
“Oh?” Mr. Hunham said, but Angus could tell he was just trying to amuse him.
Angus shut the menu as their waitress came up the stairs to their little booth. “Okay, you ready to order? Oh!” she gasped as she turned to his teacher.
“Miss Crane,” Hunham touched his chest, “As I live and breathe. What-, what are you doing here?”
“Oh hi guys! Yeah, I always pick up a little extra work over Thanksgiving and Christmas,” Miss Crane explained.
It looked as if Mr. Hunham had been snapped awake, “Well, um, this is Mr. Tully,” he motioned his hand towards him.”
“Sure, I know you and your little girlfriend. You two are always glued together like gum on a pole,” Miss Crane said teasingly.
“Y/n L/n," he beamed, "she goes to the girl's school and we’re just friends. But um, we met outside Dr. Woodrup’s office. I was wrongly accused of blowing up a toilet,” he smiled as innocently as he could.
“I didn’t know about the wrongly part,” she shares a laugh with Hunham.
“He’ll have a cheeseburger,” he orders for Angus.
“And a Miller High Life please,” Angus adds quickly.
“Uh. No you will not,” Hunham says sternly.
“Where do you stand on Miller High Life, Miss Crane?”
“Well, like they say, it’s the Champagne of Beers.”
Angus turns to Hunham, “And she’s a professional.”
“Okay, one cheeseburger,” Miss Crane waits for him to fill the blank.
He relents and orders reluctantly, “And a Coke.”
“I’ll have a cheeseburger as well,” Hunham smiled.
“Two cheeseburgers,” she jots down the order on her notepad
“And a Jim Beam. On the rocks. Please.”
“Okay, you got it guys,” She smiles at them before exiting. Paul watches her go and Angus grins at the scene.
“Ouch. You two have chemistry,” he shakes his hand like he had touched a hot plate.
“Okay. That’s the Percodan talking,” Hunham dismisses.
“I don’t know. Seeing her like this, I think she’s pretty attractive,” he hopes his teacher will take the bait.
“Listen, you hormonal vulgarian, that woman deserves your respect, not your erotic speculation.”
Angus resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “Well, may I at least go to the bathroom? Sir?”
“You mean the payphone?”
They have a stare off before he runs off to the back of the restaurant. Angus scours any leftover change in his back pocket of his jeans. He finds enough to make a call. He scans the room, making sure that Mr. Hunham isn’t hunting him down like last time. He dials the number to the Barton infirmary and hopes you are lounging in your room.
“Pick up, pick up, pick up,” he chants under his breath. Instead he gets the dial tone. He curses and slams the phone back to its original place.
You haven’t seen Angus since the morning. You've been spending all afternoon with Mary instead. You helped with the lunch dishes and are preparing the potatoes for supper later. Mary had a radio in the kitchen which you happily hummed to. Christmas music flooded your ears and reminded you of the holiday. In the halls of Barton there were no decorations, and one could probably convince a kid that the Grinch had stolen them in the dead of night.
“Mary, I'm done,” you proudly show her the bowl of potatoes. In your house most of the cooking was done by private chefs who came in and out so irregularly that you could never learn their names. Understandably, they didn’t have time to entertain a ten-year-olds insistent questions about what it meant to julienne a vegetable.
“Great. Why don’t you start boiling them and get started on chopping those mushrooms.”
“Okay,” you add water to a pot before adding the chomped potato. You find the mushrooms and cut them as thinly as you can. After you place them on the counter next to Mary who has already prepared everything else.
You admire as she adds them to a pan of melted butter. She drops salt, pepper, Italian dressing and other spices you can’t name, without even having to use measuring tools. “You’re Julia Child!” You praise.
“Just years of practice.”
“Hey, when do I get to sauté and mix things?” You get on your tiptoes to get a better look at the mushrooms turning a dark brown.
“When I know you won’t hurt yourself doing it,” she gave a pointed look at the bandaids on your fingers. You may have cut yourself in your first attempts at handling a knife. You hide the hand behind your back. “Sorry.”
You go to sit in a stool by the oven. You open a borrowed copy of a Kerouac book that Angus had in his suitcase. The Subterraneans, written in three days apparently and no offense to Jack but it shows. Mary notices your squinting as you go try to make sense of the writing, inching your face closer and closer to the paper.
“Are you planning to do something with that? The books.” Mary stops her stirring and lowers the heat of the stove. She walks over to you and glances at pages.
“What? Like with writing?” You ask, “I’m not sure. I know I should have figured it out by now but I just never got one of those woosh moments,” you sway your hands in the air.
“Woosh moment?”
“It's like what we talked about with the pendulum. I feel like I've been hanging still and waiting for the wind to send me on my way. I wait for it to push me with the strength of a tornado. Woosh. Almost to flood me with a feeling of knowing? I’m not the best at words…” you trail off.
“You're telling me nothing interests you?” She raised her eyebrow.
“No, a lot of things do. I want to do everything. Right now, for example, I feel like becoming a renowned chef,” you pick up a random bowl and start stirring it slowly.
“Try learning how to handle a knife right first,” she tuts.
“Practice makes perfect Mary,” you smile and look down into the chocolate substance you were messing with. “Cake or brownies?”
“Neither actually. It's more doughy than liquid honey,” she lectures you kindly.
“Right,” you say sheepishly, “I swear I’m smarter when it comes to other things. You should see me in civics class.”
“I believe you,” she winks, “Now get to preheating the oven, Betty Crocker.”
Angus goes off to play a game on the Pinball machine and to take his mind off you. It certainly helps him. Avoiding the prospect of getting beat up by locals and injuring another part of his body allows him to momentarily forget the stress he feels when he remembers how pissed you are at him.
Mr. Hunham and Angus eat their burgers quickly. To repay Mr. Hunham for saving his ass, Angus keeps his mouth shut every time he orders a Jim Beam. They leave after Hunham drops a rather generous tip for Miss Crane.
They're walking towards Hunhams car and Angus can’t resist the urge to ask, “Why’d you buy those guys beer? They’re assholes.”
“That’s one way to look at it. Hey. Catch,” he tosses his keys at Angus, who catches them on instinct.
“How many boys do you know who have had their hands blown off? Barton boys don’t go to Vietnam. No, they go to Yale or Dartmouth or Cornell, whether they deserve to or not."
“Except for Curtis Lamb.”
“Except for Curtis Lamb.”
“Were you ever in the military?” Angus’s curiosity peaked.
“I tried to enlist in ‘41, but was rejected,” Mr. Hunham pointed at his eye, as if to say obviously. He tries to unlock the door of the driver's side to no avail. He points towards Angus,“I have to get in through there. Anyways, they made me an air raid warden. Gave me a whistle and everything. Helmet. Arm band.”
Angus opens the door, handing the keys off as Mr. Hunham slides in. He catches a whiff of Mr. Hunham unmentioned scent.
“Before we get going, can I be candid with you?”
“Mm-hmm,”
“You smell,” he states bluntly and Mr. Hunham deflates. Angus joins him inside the Nova, “Like fish. And it’s really noticeable toward the end of the day. I even smell it on your coat. Mind if I crack the window?”
“Trimethylaminuria.”
“Huh?” Angus frowns.
“Trimethylaminuria. Means my body can’t break down trimethylamine. That’s the smell. And, uh, yes, more toward the end of the day.
“Wow. Your whole life? No wonder you’re afraid of women,” he concludes.
“I am not afraid of women,” Hunham says, clearly offended. “Jesus H. Christ.”
“I shouldn’t have said anything. Dr. Gertler says I don’t always give consideration to my audience,” Angus exhales.
“Who’s Dr. Gertler?’’
“My shrink,” Angus wants to disappear.
“Has Dr. Gertler ever tried a swift kick in the ass?”
Angus figures he ought to level the playing field. “Okay, all right, now your turn. Go ahead, tell me something about me. Something negative.”
“Something negative about you?”
“Sure. Just one thing.
“Just one?”
Angus nods and he probably should be offended that he is taking an awful long time to say anything.
“You’re obtuse about your social relationship.”
“What the hell is that supposed mean?”
“You didn’t say I had to elaborate Mr. Tully.”
“Okay well now I want you to. Spit it out.”
“No,” he backs out of his parking spot and hits the road.
“Come on! Explain,” Angus tugs on Hunhams jacket.
“I hope you don’t plan to pester me all the way to Barton. It'll be an awfully long ride.”
He presses down harder on the gas pedal.
You had burned the cookies. Not that you could tell when you took a bite of it. The cocoa had disguised it and you had just finished patting your back when you had to spit the whole thing out into the sink. Mary relishes your misery and apologizes through her laughs, wiping the tears in the corner of her eyes.
So your two-course meal had been reduced to just an entree. After thirty minutes of searching and waiting on Angus and Mr. Hunham, you ladies decided to leave the capacious mess hall and have a TV dinner. If your mother could see you now you were sure she would have you arrested by the etiquette police.
Mary was flipping through the channels to tune in to her daily rewatch of the Newlywed Game. You stopped her suddenly, your hand on top of hers to stop her from operating the remote.
“Cactus Flower! I love this movie. Please can we watch it?” You beg, clasping and shaking your hands together.
“What’s it about?” She asks hesitantly, clearly wary about abandoning her favorite program.
“You’ll love it! Ingrid Berman has to pretend to be her boss's wife because he lied to his lover about being married and having kids and shit-,”
“Language.”
“-Sorry. And so now he has to pull off this big con, so she won’t leave his lying as-, butt,” you correct yourself. “Goldie Hawn is sooo good in this. She won an Oscar I think.”
“I supposed I could give it a try. If it bores me we are switching right back though.”
“Deal,” you giggle and scoot the plate balancing on your lap closer so you can dig in.
For the next hour, Mary seems content in watching the characters in the movie ignore and miscommunicate their feelings. Even shaking her head when they do something she finds ridiculous. Your eyes get heavy as the ending nears, your stomach warm and content with the meal you had and the glare of the television tiring your vision. You lean your head back into the couch cushion and close your eyelids. Distantly you hear Ingrid Berman and Walter Matthau confess their love before your world goes dark.
Slumped against Mary, you wake up for the second time that week by the same hands. Angus is shaking your shoulder gently. Your gaze falls immediately to the sling his arm is in.
“Angus! What the hell?” You whisper- shout, fixing your posture and wiping the potential drool off your face. You check to make sure you didn’t wake up Mary.
“It's okay, it's okay,” he reassures. “It’s not broken, or anything just dislocated.”
“What happened?’’ Your arm trails down from where the sling starts to where his hand hangs lazily out. "Is this why you weren’t at dinner tonight? Hunham too?”
“Uh yeah. I jumped off a springboard in the new gym,” he answers bashfully.
“Wow… you are so stupid sometimes.”
“I prefer spontaneous thank you,” he sits down next to you on the couch and lets out a sigh. Using his good arm, he lifts a plastic bag. “We went out to eat and I got you something.”
“Ooh,” You snatch the bag and open it as quietly as you can without crinkling the plastic. Inside the Styrofoam box there's a half-eaten burger with some cold fries. You snack on it anyway offering some to Angus who shakes his head.
“Mr. Hunham thought buying another would be wasteful. He assumed you and Mary would have probably eaten by then so I saved what I could.”
“We did and,” you motion to the plates, “I helped cook it!”
“Really?” Angus's eyes widened, “I’m sorry I missed it.”
“I saved you some cookies,” You pick up the dish of the burnt dessert. You have brought them over believing you had been exaggerating the taste.
You hadn't.
He takes one, clueless, and bites almost half the cookie off. You see him wince but still he continues to chew. He chokes it down and nods, “Not bad?”
“You’re such a liar,” you shove his head lightly. “I forgot to turn on the timer.”
“Yeah I can tell,” he takes your confession as his cue to spit the rest out into a nearby napkin.
“Thanks for this though,” you take a bite of the burger, “I had forgotten what fast food tasted like.”
“Don’t tell him I let you have it. Or that you saw me in fact. The whole arm thing is supposed to be secret.”
“Got it,” you extended your pinky for him to intertwine. He takes it but doesn’t remove his pinky after, instead he lets your connected hands fall between the both of you.
The TV is still on, except the volume is lower and an old black-and-white movie is on. You finish the burger and put the trash aside to throw away in the morning.
“Where is Mr. Hunham now?”
“Crashed as soon as his head hit the pillow.”
“So you want to talk now?” You look up at him.
“Umm, somewhere private though. Incase Mary wakes up,” he gets up, still connected to you by your fingers and pulls you alongside him. You pick up a discarded blanket along with you
“Okay. Where do you want to go?”
He walks you two out of the staff common room and you let him take the lead. Barton is cold even without all the large windows closed. It’s like walking through a haunted mansion, passing by old dusty trophy cases and pictures of past alumni. When you enter what you recognize to be the auditorium, thanks to the plaque next to the door, Angus strolls you two over to the stage. You sit on the piano bench and when he joins you, you cover him with your blanket.
You hear Angus let out a shaky breath and then see the winter air turn it into a small cloud of smoke.
Angus starts to speak, a tremble in his voice, “You’re the only person who thinks of me first know? Even when we were little, and we had a free pass to be totally self-centered you still never-. Like in middle school when you’d give me biology answers, or just now with the blanket! I have a jacket! I should be giving you the entire blanket. In fact, let me give you -, your just-.”
“It’s alright Angus,” you stop his rapid rambling, holding his face between your hands. “I already forgave you a long time ago.”
“Didn’t feel like it,” he chuckles, trying to divert his gaze but the soft hold you have on him keeps him still.
“I forgave you the second you walked in looking like a kicked puppy.”
He laughs at your words.
“Although I just want to ask what has been going on with you? I know you hate school and you're not incredibly fond of Stanely marrying your mom, but I feel like something has been bothering you. Something big.”
“I need to go to Boston Y/n,” he admits, hitting some random piano keys. The notes echo around the room.
“Okay,” you bite the inside of your cheek, “why?”
“It's snowing outside but it doesn’t feel like Christmas. But my dad, he would make it feel that way. So I need to see him and my mom had promised but you see how that turned out.”
“Oh Angus. This is why you kept bringing it up,” you gasp. “Jesus. And I had called you stupid, I’m the dense one for not connecting the dots.”
“No no. You’re not. I was being evasive. I guess I didn’t want you to worry.”
“I would have stolen Jason Smith's car keys had I known! We could be there by now, eating Clam Chowder by the bay. ”
“Nuh-uh. You’re way too of a goody-two shoe for that.”
“Well I would have followed you. Given an hour's notice, of course, to build my confidence.”
“I don't know,” Angus hits a few more keys, “Maybe this was fate like you said. It definitely didn’t deal me a cruel hand having me holdover here with you.”
“Yeah, the universe was certainly on our side for this one,” you move closer to him and put your head on his shoulder. “Hey, you think you can still play even with only one working hand?”
“I’m willing to try it,” he stretches his fingers, “What shall I serenade you with?”
“Something Beach Boys. In My Room?”
“You got it L/n.”
He plays much slower and his jaw is sharp, fully determined to get through the song for your enjoyment. He plays so gracefully you don’t even notice when he slips on occasion. You don’t mind it. It’s almost as sweet as a lullaby.

Sooo maybe you got this already but how about modern day remus hurt/comfort featuring the blue moon we just got?
tysm♡
You can't lie on top of Remus like you want to, but you can curl up by his side. The saying once in a blue moon has lost all of its charm —your poor boyfriend gets to suffer twice in one month. Not cool.
"You," you say, as though this is your entire sentence, distracted by the need to kiss his stubbly cheek, "are so handsome."
"Stop buttering me up."
"But I like to," you whine, laughing as he turns his head up to encourage another kiss on top of the first. You kiss him pink, his pale cheeks finally flushing with a little colour after days a peaky grey.
Remus curls onto his side to match you, two halves of the same heart, chocolatey brown eyes a little darker in the morning light. He winces as he does, some newly stitched cut or bandaged bruise giving him trouble.
"'Nother cup of tea?" you ask.
"I think I'm full of tea, my love."
He's much nicer after a full moon than before it. He tells you of teenage years spent screaming at the people who loved him to leave him alone, to do something, to put him out of his misery. You're thankful that these days he just get moody, like a bad case of premenstrual agitation, and then afterwards he's very sorry. You don't want anymore apologies from him today and you think he might be finished offering them, content to lie in the warm mess of his bed with you as you rub his sallow skin.
"Shall we have a snog?" you ask.
"Don't," he says, "don't even joke about it."
You laugh softly at his upset and poke his cheek. "How terrible it must be for you to ache too much for a kiss. What if I do all the work?" you ask.
"Maybe one," he says, murmuring as you lean down, "or two."
You kiss his chapped lips gently. The room silent but for the brush of your palm against his face, he pulls in a breath at your touch through his nose, his lips parting a millimetre, maybe less. You use your elbow for leverage, careful not to lean on his sore shoulder as you pull away, turn your head, and dive back in, your noses bumping.
You forget yourself when he touches your back. A shorter, startled sound bubbles at the back of his throat and you immediately recede.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to," you say, eyes wide and checking him over.
"It's just my arm, sweetheart. My fault."
You take his hand resting at your back and put it back where it was on the bed. "This is why we don't kiss after a full moon," you say, more to yourself than him. You feel like you've dangled a carrot on a stick in front of him. "I'll make you more tea."
He catches your arm before you can climb off the bed. "I'm fine! Stop worrying. And I really couldn't manage another if I wanted to. But if you want to make yourself one, please, do, and write it down on the chart."
"I'm not writing a cup of tea down on the chore chart," you say. "How is that fair?"
"Why wouldn't it be fair? I've made you zero cups of tea these last few days and you've made me twenty. I think I'll be making you tea all month to make up for it."
You smile at him fondly. "Can I trade some tea in for less turns doing the dishes?"
"We're not currently accepting trades, at the moment." Remus expends energy he doesn't have kissing your elbow. "...But I can make an exception. For you."
You lay back down to give him ease of access. "You can just kiss my arm again and we'll call it square."

The helpful teacher
Character: Jeremy Gilbert x teacher!male reader
Universe: Vampire Dairies
Warnings: Smut, inappropriate relationship between teacher and student, slightly forced sexual relationship but also not really
“Please, don’t forget your homework! The last essay showed me that you all have to work harder!” I call after my students without results. Sighing, I glanced at my grades sheet. Of twenty-five students, fifteen failed, and only two scored above average. Even though I haven't been a teacher for long, this course is far worse than any other I've taught this far. One of them, in particular, grinds my gears: Jeremy. I read some of his works before my class, and they were excellent. His downfall is truly heartbreaking.
Just as I was thinking about why one of the best students had fallen, there was a crash in my classroom. My eyes immediately jumped up. Back there in the class was none other than Jeremy himself. He is moving slowly as if he were drunk. He has trouble freeing his backpack from his chair. Jeremy shook and pulled until he stumbled back with his freed backpack in his hands.
With a gloomy smile, he threw the backpack over his shoulder and wandered towards the door.
“Stay for a moment?” I ask him harshly.
Hearing the tone in my voice makes him jump, his eyes widening as he realizes I'm still in the same room. I could immediately tell that something was wrong. His pupils are dilated, his eyes bloodshot. He reluctantly comes towards me, his hands in his pockets.
“Sit down.“
Jeremy follows my orders, seemingly knowing he's already in enough trouble. And he is, especially with his low grades.
“Would you like to explain why you’re drunk in my class?”
“I’m not drunk,” he speaks rather slowly.
“What then?“
Dismissively he crossed his arms before his chest. But sighs a moment later and says, "It does not matter. It’s not like you or anyone cares.”
At this point, I'm already upset. My disappointment is immeasurable. Still, I want to help him. But I can only do that if he wants help, too, and that doesn't seem to be the case.
"Then explain to me why someone as smart as you is failing every class and even got an F in a class you once excelled in."
He only sits there in silence. Anger burns in his eyes, but there is also something else, a pain that begs for help. As long as he keeps quiet, no one can help him.
“If you don’t answer me, come over here and bend over my desk.”
He tilts his head, confusion written all over his face. But my patience is already running out. In a decision that seems strange even to me, I step forward, grab him by his sweater, and pull him to his feet. Only to lead him to my desk, push him against it, turn him around, and slam his torso onto an open surface.
Before he could say anything, I pull his pants down. It's baffling why some teenagers don't wear belts. But I have to admit, it can be convenient in certain situations.
“You can’t do that!” He tries in vain to change my mind. But it's already too late.
I pull his underwear down enough to reveal his ass, a pretty and pale one at that. He's obviously never shown it to the sun, which is sad because Jeremy is rather attractive, and just from his butt alone, I can tell his body isn't bad either.
Strangely, he didn't try to get away. Even though his hands were balled into fists, with which he could've easily pushed me away. I would be lying if I said I didn't like it somewhere. He even looks like he's enjoying it, but it was most likely due to his drunken state.
With a sudden slap, I brought Jeremy back to reality, but even though my slap on his ass cheek was pretty hard, he didn't make a sound. Wondering why, I take a look at his face. I see him biting his bottom lip, his eyes are closed, and a shy smile coupled with a blush spreading across his cheeks shows me a darker side of him.
Riled up by his show of want for this punishment, I give him an entire spanking. However, he still doesn't make a sound. It somehow got me angry and disgusted with him. So I quickly take out a ruler. For a second, I see Jeremy open his eyes, but before he can see my new weapon, I swing and slam the ruler on his butt. For the first time, a scream comes from his lips, satisfying me. Suddenly, I feel something moving in my pants as I look down. I become horrified to see myself getting hard. Disturbed by my body's reaction, I dropped the ruler to the floor.
My hand moves of its own accord, caressing his ass and absorbing the sight of his ruddy glory. But soon, one of my fingers found his crack. Feeling bold, I let a finger wander towards it. But Jeremy told me to stop before I could get too far into it. Shocked that he finally found his words, I did as asked, at least for the moment. He still didn't move, so, encouraged by his unmoving position, I slid my finger through it again and even poked his hole.
I never in my life thought Jeremy would slam his hand on my desk and tell me to stop in a deep, sexy, authoritative tone. I'm so shocked that my knees buckled. Could a man younger and smaller than me really make me falter?
Then suddenly, what I had been wondering finally fell from my lips, so I ask, “Why didn't you move if you didn't like it?”
Silence. Jeremy didn't move, but he didn't say anything either. I try to stand up again, thinking he wouldn't say anything more, that I'd gone too far.
“Because you didn't tell me to,” he says, embarrassed.
Stunned by his words, I fall to my knees again. I try to think of what he could mean, but it quickly sends me into a whirlwind of thoughts. It's getting so bad my head is spinning.
“So if I told you to turn around, would you do that?”
He hummed in agreement but nothing else. So I tell him to turn around, and he does. His underwear is still in the same position, just with the second-largest tent I've ever seen. So large, in fact, that I think he could use it as a real weapon, at least to destroy someone's guts.
“Fuck!“
“What?” asks Jeremy, nervously.
But I’m too far gone at that point. I leap forward, pulling his underwear down completely. As his large, thick cock jumps in my face, all I could do was look up. For the first time, I see how handsome Jeremy truly is. Before I know it, my right hand is wrapped around his cock while my left fondles his big balls. He again bites his bottom lip.
“Are you doing everything I tell you?” Jeremy nods silently. "So if I told you to slam me on the floor and fuck me hard, would you do that?" He nods again. “And if I told you to kiss me, would you do that too?”
“Everything,” he says to me, trying not to moan.
“What if I tell you I want to do something to your ass?”
Suddenly his hands grab mine, and in an angry voice, he says, “Everything but my ass.”
I am shocked by his sudden change in behavior. Out of nowhere, I feel a knot explode in my stomach, and before I know it, I cum hard in my underwear. My whole body convulses violently. If Jeremy hadn't held me by the arms, I would have fallen sideways like a sack of potatoes.
It takes me a moment to come back to my senses, but Jeremy is still in the same position and seems unaware of the effect he's really having on me and my body.
"So you're a service top?" I ask, out of breath as soon as the fog in my head has cleared.
"What is that?“
“Doing whatever your partner sexually wants to satisfy him and make sure he enjoys every damn second of it. Like a good boy.”
Jeremy blushes at my words. It's quite adorable. He swallows loudly, clearly unsure of his next words. He whispers quietly, “I want to be a good boy.” He looks away shyly, biting his bottom lip again before clearing his throat and shrugging his shoulders. “As long as someone drains my balls, I don’t care.”
The second part obviously serves his male pride, which he should preserve. Because damn, he looks hot being prideful. Looking at him with flushed cheeks while he bites his bottom lip, he looks submissive, but when I look into his eyes, there is something completely different, a dominating force that makes me shudder. He's obviously holding back, but how far could I push him? Would he ever break, or would he just get power through it?
His hands slowly withdrew and instead grabbed the edges of my desk so I could do whatever I wanted with his large member. He leans back and thereby makes himself vulnerable to me. Jeremy is so young and yet mature enough to handle such a situation.
I look at his cock again and slowly stroke it up and down. The rest of my discipline quickly faded.
“Fuck it,” I say in a desperate voice, just before I put his head in my mouth. It's already filling my mouth, and I haven't even put much of his cock into it. But the taste is bitter and sweaty. I take it out of my mouth but still stroking as I look up. “From now on, you will wash yourself everyday, understand?”
Jeremy nodded awkwardly, clearly unprepared for such an order. Although he seems to have forgotten all about it, when I open my mouth wider and take about a third of his member into my mouth, I elicit a long moan from him. His cock is already shaking on my tongue. Maybe it's the first time someone is touching him, but I didn't think he would cum so early.
Just as I was thinking about it, it happened. An enormous amount of liquid ambrosia fills my mouth, and I quickly have trouble swallowing. But in the end, I didn't lose a single drop.
After I clean his cock, I pull it out. But it didn't go down, which is perfect since I'm not done with him yet.
“Sit on my chair!“
“Wha-“
"Get a grip and get on my chair! You want to be a good boy, right? Then sit in my fucking chair!“
As I raise my voice, he scrambles like a child with his hand in the cookie jar. He almost knocked over my chair when he jumped on it. A sudden surge of guilt washes over me. Is he so emotionally starved that he would do anything to feel connected to someone in some way? Am I really taking advantage of an emotionally hurting boy?
As I ponder on my decision to ruin my life just for an affair with one of my students, I look at Jeremy again. Unwashed, probably for a few days, heavy bags under his bloodshot eyes and slurred words. But besides that, there is an eagerness in his eyes, the look of an injured or abandoned puppy wanting a connection. Even though I feel guilty, I want to help him, and if I get something out of it, all the better.
I slowly pull up my tight shirt and show the boy my vigorously trained body. He sat in amazement, staring at the body I was hiding. Shedding off my pants, I thought he was going to pass out. I'm not the biggest, but I have a great body and ass. Jeremy probably wouldn't find another ass this good in a long while, as I take extreme care of myself.
"Do you want to touch me first or-"
“Yes!” Jeremy shouts before I can even finish.
I smile at him and step closer to him so he won't have to get up again. When he still didn't move, I lean in and whisper close to his ear, "Touch me wherever you want, but don't you dare get up from this chair!"
Gulping loudly, Jeremy nods slowly. When I receive his answer, I straighten my back again and pose in front of him. His hands roam over my body, discovering every little part of me. I even kneel down between his legs when he shows interest in my upper body, where he immediately starts touching me. He is so gentle, always silently asking with his eyes if everything is okay. He really is a sweetheart.
But when his soft hand caresses my warm cheek, he looks deep into my eyes. As soon as our eyes meet, I know I can't wait any longer. Before he could react, I stand up, push him back into the chair, and sit on his lap. He looks stunned the whole time.
"This is your first time, isn't it?" He gulped but nodded. “Well, then we have to make it memorable, right?” I ask, winking at him.
He opens his mouth, but nothing comes out. It feels more like he's about to go to heaven. So to get him back, I move my ass, letting his big cock slide between my ass cheeks. He snaps back to reality and almost dares to touch me, but at the last second, he stops his hands from gripping my waist. This will be the most fun I've had in a long time. I'm sure about that.
***
It's dark when I finally open the door to my classroom again. I have no idea how long we were in there. Jeremy is close behind me, exhausted, but the corners of his mouth are turned up in a happy smile.
"A good chat, Mr. Gilbert," I tell him, clearing my throat, "If we do this everyday, I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time."
“Everyday?” he asks, swallowing loudly.
But I didn't say anything else. Instead, I walk past him and go out. Luckily, the janitor hadn't made his rounds yet. I wait outside for Jeremy, who walks quickly past me with his head bowed without looking back, stirring something inside me.
As I get into my car, I sit there for a moment. Reaching for the seatbelt, it suddenly dawns on me. Did I just force one of my students to have sex with me to raise his grades? I slam my hands on the steering wheel and curse myself. How could I convince myself I would help a hurting young man like that? By using him? Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
“Fuck!” I finally mutter and start the engine. Even though I know not to drive angry, I couldn't stay there any longer before someone would find me and ask why I was still there. Still, I couldn't stop cursing myself for something so stupid.
My therapists will be happy to hear that my impulse control seems to be gone again. Even after the many years of hard work, we had done. Except I should probably leave out that it was a student of mine. The least I can do for myself is not to sabotage myself further.

───────── 《 .°•♡•°. 》 ──────────
When you applied/auditioned to be on the show, you didn't actually think they'd pick you. It was a stupid dare amongst friends back home! No way would they pick some random girl with no experience or even a resume from (home/town/city).
And then, they did😃.
Next thing you know, you're being flown out to Canada and then dropped off from a yacht on some random, deserted island. Just your luck to apply for a scammy and sketchy reality show rather than what you were promised...
And, to top it all off, your host might as well have been a sociopath, your chef, a psychopath, and you were now forced to spend your time with twenty-two other lunatic teenagers for eight weeks. Eight. Weeks. To be fully and completely clear, you did not want to be here.
How could this get any worse?
Duncan. That's how.
He irked you at first. No, you didn't hate him. He actually had his moments where you found him quite funny with a sarcastic quip he had said or entertaining with some random stunt he pulled.
But other than that...
"I'm not jumping. I miss the safe zone and get eaten alive by sharks, and then what?"
"Oh'ho, you're jumping, sweetheart. I'll be damned if you lose this challenge for us because you're not a strong swimmer."
"That's not what I said. And what're you gonna do? Make me?"
...you were firm on your dislike for him.
Not that the feelings weren't reciprocated, of course. Though he wasn't exactly opposed to eying any pretty girls he happened to come across, he didn't intend to date. He came to win $100,000, just like the rest of them. And though he had grown used to the way your attitude struck any and everyone who tried to manipulate you into doing something you didn't want to do, at least you weren't Courtney, stick shoved up your butt.
Onto the more headcanon-y portion of this list...
I feel like Duncan actually wouldn't be opposed to random hookups or anything like that. But, once he has specific eyes for someone, he treats things as if he's already bagged them (manifesting king😻✨️). And in this case, them is you. He didn't get the hots right away, but after a couple of weeks or so of spending basically all of his time around you (being on the same team and all), he wasn't too surprised upon coming to terms with those feelings.
Not that you could exactly tell, with him running around calling you "sweetheart" and "angel-face" and whatever other petnames he could come up with on the fly. You figured it was just him being...well... Duncan! Not to mention, you weren't exactly all that fond of him.
Did he know that? Yes. Did he care? Ehh. You'd warm up. He'd actually make sure of it because even if the show didn't end with him either winning the money or getting you as a girlfriend, the least he'd accomplish is wooing you.
He's not gonna sacrifice his reputation for that, so he'd have to play it cool. And during the seventh challenge, an opportunity came to light; he'd help you concor your fear! Not only would it win your team the challenge, but it'd be a huge step into winning over your heart. With peering eyes (and cameras around), he was there to be your tough-love.
"Get over it, toots, it's just (your/fear)!!"
"Do not mess this up for us, or I'll guarantee you go home tonight."
"I've been in juvie with worse than this...!"
But, without any evidence to prove it besides your word and a blushing face, he was totally sweet on you.
"C'mere, sweetheart, it ain't that bad. You just need a little warming up to the idea, that's all~."
"The worst that could happen is you'll be called a chicken. It's not like you'll get voted off. Not while I'm here."
"Babe, you are entirely too cool to be skeezed out by (your/fear). We're gonna have to work on that, yeah?"
Him sling-shotting you through such emotions and behavior was intense. But not as much as the way it kept you hooked. And every time you would start to grow fed up, want nothing to do with him, even cuss him out...
Life (Chris McLean) would manage to thrust you two back together. Until, eventually, you got together. I mean, no official labels or anything yet, but god forbid another guy on either team just breathed sultry in your direction (coughCodyprobablycough). Or if you got hurt during a challenge. Or whenever anyone (butmostlikelyHeather) had it out for you.
And in those moments, I think Duncan wouldn't be as good as hiding his infatuation with you. Not that anyone actually had the gall to tease him for it. Besides, he had managed to make his admiration for you look cool. Always muttering a slick, "She wants me." to his guy friends, or smirking at any intimate reaction you'd give him in front of your peers.
All in all, he's a cocky shit. But he made it work in a charming way that you couldn't quite place, and made you wonder why you were even attracted to it/him at all.
And, surprisingly, he could be quite the gentlemen. Rough around the edges, sure, but see if you ever have to hold a door open for yourself or climb down from something without his hand being offered to you ever again.
He even makes sure to censor himself around you! Er- well, tries. If he deems a curse word too heavy for you to hear come flying out of his mouth, it goes a little something like this:
" ...So I rush 'im, right? And then can you believe the motherfucker-...! Sorry, babe. Can you believe this idiot actually tries to shank me?! Wild stuff, man..."
As if he's not already sitting around the campfire telling the most gorey juvie/jail story ever. But nope, the extra heavy cuss words are the stuff that's impolite for your ears🙄✋🏽.
#it'sthethoughtthatcounts♡.
OH!! And casual dominance? Definitely a thing in the relationship. Mainly from him, with a simple, "C'mere, doll." or a motion of the hand/finger over towards him. But let's not lie and say this dude isn't a sucker for the moments you boss him around...
"Duncan, go grab that for me, please?"
"I'm busy-"
"Now."
. . .
No further protest, your item retrieved and dropped into your hands with swiftness, and a light red dust on his face badly hidden under a scowl.
Things would get serious/official if one of you two got voted off of the island, though. If you got voted off, he'd be sure to give you the most profound goodbye he can in the very limited amount of time he has to actually say it. Make it very clear you're his girl, "...for anyone thinkin' about trying to make a move while I'm not around." And, he promises that if he wins, he's coming for you, and you'll run off together with the money. Cliche, but how could you say no?
If he gets voted off, he sticks on a brave face and basically threatens you to win lmao😭. Think of it as very intense encouragement coming from a deep down place of love.
"Babe, you better win this whole shit, 'cuz I'm gonna be rooting for you back home. Need these losers to see that my girl is the shit."
I could probably go on forever, but I don't want to make this too long :')...
