but making his entire personality music makes me so mad

most headcanons I see are all the same PLEASE I AM TIRED of hearing what kind of songs he listens to that or all ship headcanons titled as Bens 

he's a shy awkward guy we all know that cuz he really just stands in a corner awkwardly scratching his neck most times and he also doesn’t like horror or anything scary (eps 11) 

hes a protective older brother not overly like Tyler where hes more protective of Tay from other people ben is more chill going and more afraid of what life throws at Lily, there’s not much here cuz more points I have fit in the other categories :)

2 | looks 

he looks kinda of basic nobody can deny that so I won't, but because of his past I imagine he would have a bunch of scars ik he doesn’t and that’s a bummer cuz I really wish he had 🥲

After he lost his voice he became super facially expressive but also really good at hiding his emotions so it’s either really easy to read him or really hard no in between. also because of his past bullying, I assume it affected him and the way he presents himself that why he sticks to basic outfits and look,

overall trying not to bring attention to himself even after therapy he stuck to his habit but if someone gave him a little push and helped him he would drop it and start putting thought into his looks,

saw this somewhere I don’t remember where they said he would have curly hair as a kid but his mom didn’t know how to take care of it so they ended up shaving it and i think curly or wavy haired Ben would be so cute also he would look amazing with an eyebrow piercing %100 and uhh I genuinely don’t remember him smiling genuinely in canon so i imagine his with a downturned smile I may be wrong about that idk

3 | hobbies

did I make this a separate category just to talk about him being an artist? yes I absolutely did 🙂↕️

I fear most people forgot about it n honestly and that is criminal 

there is not much said about it in canon but I’ll work with what I have,

he probably didn’t have much artistic skills when he was younger and only started doing it as a distraction and a way to calm down n he probably made himself draw

4 | Past & current 

I’ll talk more here about how his past affects him currently,

I love to think he has a fear of fires because of the fire that burned down his house more of a headcanon tbh

and I want to talk about his voice as that affects him the most what really bothers me about the fandom is that a lot of people ignore the fact that he probably will never speak.

That he has the option to speak but he doesn’t why? Because he hates his voice and if he hates his voice sm he chose to not speak for yearsss what makes u think he would speak for the sake of someone else's comfort when doing that only pains him? he is selectively mute for a reason I'm not saying he doesn’t have a voice but at least if u headcanon him to speak in the future at least let it be for his own sake instead of doing it for someone else or make it about ur ship.

5 | Relationship with family 

Starting with his parents I don’t think they are bad parents at all they tried to help him as much as they could but they couldn’t so they opened up other options and let him move away and heal even if he’s not with them I think what the did is a good choice for their situation and their relationship would still be great tbh considering the distance 

now onto Lily

I honestly can talk about them for days. I love them 

Their relationship is so sweet the way Lily is stuck to him every chance she gets and ah also used to sing to her can you imagine how she felt seeing her brother coming home later and later covered in bruises not singing to her to sleep anymore watching him sneak out 

she basically watched her brother spiral down and then leave she was probably too young to really understand what was going on fully so now she just wants to spend all the time she can with him and he tries to make up for lost time :(

now Aiden 

most people probably forgot Aiden is the closest person to Ben and the same goes the other way around.

Aiden is a life long friend of Ben’s

he literally trusts him, follows him everywhere and lets him decide for him 

they spent most of their time together since Ben moved in they live together there stuck together.

Aiden probably helped him a lot mentally helping him try new things and be more carefree

Ben also probably helped him mentally and physically patching him up and looking out for him overall,

I see some Aiden fics that are like “Oh no Ben’s gonna be so upset at me 😖” and they make him act like a nurse, not a friend and he just bandages him up then leaves as if nothing happened and someone else comes and in does all the comforting

6 | Relationship with friends

After her drink ran out, she made her way to the kitchen for another one, grabbing another cup and filling it with whatever bottle she grabbed first, a voice behind her startling her softly.

“That’s a little much isn’t it?” Y/N whipped her head around to look at the guy standing next to her, shrugging.

“I don’t care.” She mumbled, setting the bottle down and taking a rather big sip from her cup.

Matt shook his head softly, watching the girl chug her drink at an alarming speed.

“Wanna dance?” Y/N cocked her brow at the guy standing next to her as she finished her drink, crumpling the cup and tossing it in the sink with the many other crumpled cups in it.

“Why not?” Y/N nodded, grabbing Matt’s hand and dragging him into the living room, now sparse of people, only a small group in the corner, doing whatever. 

After around 11:30, the music had shifted from loud party music to slow paced alternative music, Black Hole Sun currently echoing through the speakers.

Matt took the girl into his arms, wrapping them securely around her torso, her own conjoining at the back of her neck.

“So, what’s your name stranger?” Y/N slurred out softly.

Matt chuckled at the girl’s slightly slurred words as they swayed to the rhythm.

“Matt.” He whispered as Y/N placed her head against his chest, feeling the safest she has in years in this stranger's arms. It was an odd feeling, feeling secure.

Y/N hummed along with the lyrics of the song; the slow depressing feel of it scarily familiar.

“What should I call you?” Matt whispered to the girl currently dancing in his arms, staring at the wall behind her.

“Call me Mary Jane.” She replied softly, not risking giving away her real name in fear of him remembering her beyond that night, which she didn’t want.

“Mary Jane?” Matt questioned, not believing the name.

“Yeah.” Y/N mumbled as she pulled herself from Matt’s arms, despite her want to stay in them.

“Wait.” Matt grabbed her wrist as she tried to walk away, not wanting her to leave just yet.

“One last dance before you go?” He squeezed her hand softly as she hesitantly allowed him to pull her back into his arms.

They danced for another few songs, Y/N’s body flushed against Matt’s, the moment so intimate, neither of them wanted it to end. And that’s saying something for Y/N.

“I have to go.” Y/N mumbled, her eyes drooping as they sway lazily. She wanted to go; she didn’t want to get attached. She couldn’t.

!Present day!

Y/N ended up not carrying out her plan that night, not after meeting him. After meeting Matt.

He saved her life, quite literally. But she wishes he didn’t.

After that last dance, she ran off, crying in her drunken state, slightly regretting how the night went, but loving it all the same.

Currently, Y/N was packing her clothes into her bag, her stay at this hotel now over. 

Music was humming in the background of the small room, the song changing to one she hadn’t heard since that night.

In my eyes, indisposed

In disguises no one knows

Hides the face, lies the snake

Y/N stopped in her tracks, images of his face plaguing her mind until she huffs and shakes her head, switching the song as to not bring up unwanted memories.

She couldn’t think about that now. That was the old Y/N, she wasn’t her anymore, her life had changed, and she couldn’t dwell in the past forever.

Matt, however, never forgot that night, as much as he wanted to. She was just some random, broken girl, he didn’t even know her real name.

Matt sighed as his phone rang, accepting the call, Nick’s voice echoing through the car.

“Chris FINALLY figured out what he wants.”

“Fucking finally. I’m almost to the speaker.” 

Matt was currently in the process of getting food. He figured since he was already out and about, why not stop and get food, but Chris, as per usual, didn’t know what he wanted.

“He WAS going to go with a different meal, but he decided he just wanted his normal.”

“Alright, that’s cool. See ya.” Matt hung up the call, slowly moving up in the drive thru line.

After dropping off Chris and Nick’s food, Matt went back out, driving around aimlessly without a designated destination.

It had started raining mid-drive, and he got hungry again.

Pulling into the nearest gas station, he went in for snacks.

After buying his snacks, as he walked out, Matt accidentally bumped into a woman.

“Shit, sorry.” Matt held his arms out to hopefully catch her from falling.

“It’s fine, thanks.” Y/N shook her head softly, looking up at the guy who had both bumped into her and caught her fall, her eyes widening as she’s met with a face she never thought she’d see again.

“Mary Jane?”

Coworker at gastro, leader/shift supervisor 2nd in-command. Charismatic, hard to get to know personally. Problem-solver, strategic and professional. Great at teamwork. Gym rat. No hobbies. No faith in love or trust, but seems to be devoted to God (wears cross), always has his doppio espresso. Speaks Spanish and likes Shisha bars.

Sort of became a little more softie towards me. Caring when I don’t make him book food for my dinner (one of his tasks for the team), sometimes double-asking. Defending me from a disrespectful coworker on some occasions. Seemingly being closer to me at times. Or like that time he stared almost intensely at my eyes….and I tried to hold the stare until I looked down and away…shy as hell.

ok so…he kinda has a weird energy to him? it’s kinda strange. it’s like he’s putting on some sort of act or something or maybe he has to but yeah you’re right about him being hard to open up. he’s getting there yes, also correct.. but there’s something that’s going to be revealed and it will change everything. it was probably your little confession, but he’s taking everything into account. it’s also strange that i got deception like 3 times in the reading already. not in a bad way but like…hiding his true feelings? ik this is a little late so idk if he’s answered you yet, but in his mind he’ll try to keep things as peaceful and harmonious, at least at work. i will say that whatever the outcome is, you’ll try to keep yourself balanced and logical. it’s gonna be hard at work but you’ll try really, realllllly hard. you might hold back feelings or suppress some emotions. also i pulled some advice for you. again, whatever the outcome, make sure you don’t change yourself. love will come to you naturally. AND if people know you’re a hardworker and they happen to know how much you make, even if it’s more than them maybe, be careful with that as well. i want you to be super cautious money wise. you’ll feel down at times and to deal with it, you could put that energy into work or other things, so make sure you rest yourself and give yourself time to sit down and process emotions sometimes ok? i don’t think you give up easily either so good on you! you’re just getting started hahah. and you are worthy alright? don’t ever doubt it.

i think there’s possibility for there to be a love connection (in the future)! it just probably won’t happen super soon bc of financial reasons. he could feel pretty stuck and unsure how to really move on from now. whatever the outcome, he doesn’t want there to be drama between you two or work. he’d like to keep everything civil. if he’s a little avoidant, it’s probably bc you’re taking steps to pursue him. not that he thinks it’s bad! he’s just kind of in that…uncertain period, esp emotionally. it’s not you tho! not your fault or anything. the good thing is that he’ll try to be nice about everything. maybe it won’t happen so soon, but there is definitely a chance for you in the future with this guy. it could also be an age thing, so maybe he’s waiting for you to be more financially stable or just ready in general. he could also be in that energy where if he pursues this relationship, he’s thinking about *everything* that could change in his life.

A lot of my pieces are inspired by songs! You can catch little details in some of them. The only character design that is designed from a song is CherryBubble from torn wings, being inspired by Yaeklores; harpy hare. Here’s a few art pieces I did from songs!

Well, sketchbooks I just draw and go crazy in take about 3-5 weeks to finish. But if I take care into decorating it and stuff and it’s like a show sketchbook not a practice sketchbook, around 6 months? Maybe less?

I typically favour cool colours over warm but sometimes I use warm colours to portray where my characters are / the circumstances they live in or just to fit the theme / time of the story!
