I feel like Leon’s wife’s father invited him out to go fishing on his boat once or something, and it was honestly awkward most of the time.

They’d just be sitting in silence for a couple minutes, waiting for something to appear in the water. Leon would just start whistling to pass the time, trying to make it less awkward in any way.

It’s not because Leon didn’t like his wife’s father—it’s because that man scared him shitless. He was afraid if he even said one thing wrong or did one thing wrong, that man would come for his throat.

Leon would just catch his fish and do whatever that man told him, always ending in “sir” as soon as he finished talking. His wife would make fun of him for how scared he was of her father, but he couldn’t help it. Even if they had three kids and were happily married, he still didn’t wanna get on the guys bad side.

Oh his wife would bully tf out of him relentlessly. No holding back either. She's adamant her father loves him but he's not so sure.

Until one instance during a camping trip with the family and the grandparents tagged along. Gramps was adamant on teaching Violet to fish but she'd much rather stay and play with Cecilia back at their camp. (They're still younger here probably 9 and 5?) So Leon and the General end up fishing by themselves. It's incredibly awkward but at least there's some beers in the cooler to nurse while they fish.

After a few beers the General starts loosening up. Not eating breakfast because he spent most of the morning digging up worms for bait while everyone else ate. And now their spending the afternoon fishing. After a while, a few trout caught from the lake Leon starts reeling in something pretty big. It's fighting back pretty hard so he's talking Leon through the reeling as he grabs the net to scoop the fish up so the line doesn't break.

Leon ends up reeling in this massive fish. Enough to feed a few people. The General is smiling, smiling.... And patting him on the back. He puts a hand on Leon's shoulder and through tipsy slurs says:

"Leon, I'm proud to have you as my son."

Leon's in shock for a moment. He's been with his wife for years now and this is the first comment that's remotely anything like a compliment from this man with the exception of being called "not completely useless" countless times.

Not long after they go to shore, docking up and tying the boat up as they're cracking jokes all the way back to camp. But like some switch the second his father-in-law sees you, his daughter, he's back to his ways.

"Wow, look at you two! Lotta fish you got. Who caught the big guy?"

"The boy. He's not completely useless after all."

And we're back... Leon sighs, walking over and giving you a kiss hello as you tell him good job. Your father walks into the RV with the fish for his wife to clean.

"He said he was proud to have me as a son..." Leon immediately whispers to you. You smirk kissing his cheek.

"I told you he liked you. He just needs to be drunk to say it."

While we're waiting for the announcement, what's your guess for the title of the next acotar book?

Lol, you sneaky nonnie! I've seen this Ask all over my dash today yestereve (I fell asleep writing my response to this)😆 Thank you for letting me join in on the fun!

I've actually had a theory about this hiding somewhere in my drafts for a couple of months now, but I've been too lazy to dig into it because 1. Structured writing, and therefore theories, is not my forte 2. I'm a perfectionist but my mind's messy - so it's all a bit messy, 3. so I might sound like a loony... 4. and I'm too insecure about my thoughts at times to even post about what goes through it 😅

But since you Ask'd... Here's a "shorter" version of that draft, at least:

My theory is that Elain's book will have something to do with ✨️Vines✨️.

Like... A Court of ✨️🌿Golden Vines🌿✨️(which I'm leaning the most towards), ACO Twining Vines, ACO Tangled Vines, ACO Blooming Vines, ACO Shadows and Vines... etc. I'm still trying to figure out where to lay my theory 😅🤣

It may sound very Elucien or even Tamlain, but ✨️Vines✨️ are described as "a plant whose stem requires support and which climbs by tendrils or twining or creeps along the ground" which, if you read or search through the books, also hints and applies to the movement of Azriel's shadows in many instances... @wingedblooms absolutely brilliant post that I quite recently came upon, especially supports the 'Twining'... So I think it's the perfect title to confuse people about her endgame 😜

Anyways, to back up my guess/theory...

Elain's scent is of Jasmine (and Honey), which seems to be the bloom of the Night Court 👀, grows as climbing shrubs or ✨️vines✨️. But I'm feeling specifically strongly for the ✨Vines✨ because

Aaaaand because:

1. Ivy is a ✨vine✨ and Sarah has mentioned it in relation to Elain's book in an interview presented at the back of ACOFAS.

2. Nesta's drawer had flames🔥. Elain had...

🌿✨Twining Vines of flowers✨🌿

We often see the beautiful petals (Elain's softness & beauty), but we don't think about the strength, resilience, and foundation of the vines underneath and........ 👇

3. ✨️Vines✨️ symbolise:

Strength & hope & resilience = Elain's quiet strength.

Determination = Elain has shown determination to help in ways she can, but is yet to be given the chance to...

She also has shown a determined disregard and opposition to having a mate...

Connection = Goes well along with my guess on "Golden" or "Twining" Vines which are often used as adjectives in relation to bonds, threads, and even spells.

Also, Elain is an Archeron sister, Cauldron-blessed, and a Seer - connected to basically every plot and possible subplots in the books (The Cauldron ➡️ Ramiel in Illyria ➡️ Made Objects & People ➡️ The Middle & The Prison/Dusk Court ➡️ The Dread Trove ➡️ Koschei ➡️Vassa ➡️The Human Queens etc.🔁); not just for who she is and her Cauldron-given gifts and abilities, but also possibly through her LIs and family. She's the one sister left unexplored and it all leads back to her. She's basically at the beginning (She's the first sister mentioned by Feyre at the beginning of ACOTAR) and in the end (She's the last sister mentioned by Nesta at the end of ACOSF) of everything. So I don't know if that supports her book being next or last...

Life = the meaning of which also applies to her scent of Honey and "Golden" -the colour of (sun)light, honey, her eyes, her hair.

3. ✨️Vines✨️ are also mentioned/connected to the earthen powers described in CC3 that Sathia & Tristan Flynn + Bryce have, which I believe many has already theorised Elain to also have... I quite like those theories (can't remember exactly where I read them as of rn) and would like to believe that it's something the Cauldron has blessed her with since she's associated with gardening and life...

I also read somewhere in a biblical text (which I wasn't too keen to delve into tbh, so don't trust my word for it, but it's Googlable) where ✨️Golden Vine✨️was associated with Life, Rebirth, and Free Will... But if Elain turns out to be the next Messiah/Saviour/Prophet of Prythian, then it's quite perfect 🤷🏻‍♀️

So... that's sort of my take so far 🫣 Hope it makes sense to you, nonnie 😅

“Nearly!” Mugman grinned as he carefully guided Chai forwards, his hands covering her eyes. A few steps forward with their shoes tapping against cobbled ground, “And we’re here!” he called as he unveiled her eyes. 

Chai’s eyes opened to the scenery before her. A large glass building framed by dark green material stood like a palace before her. The glass blurred the objects inside, distorting into blodges of different shades of green with the occasional pop of colour. Chai tilted her head curiously, her eyes following the ivy that coiled around one of the pillars and draped over the wooden sign hanging above the double doors: Inkwell City Botanical Garden.

Her eyes widened in awe, the writing on the sign processing in her head, which bubbled up. “There’s an entire place dedicated to plants!?” Chai gasped happily, her hands fanning around in glee.

“Other than your bedroom?” Mugman chuckled as he placed a hand on Chai’s shoulder, smiling down at her as she looked up at him. “Inkwell City's very own greenhouse! And it’s our’s for the day!” 

“Seriously!? You rented an entire greenhouse for us? You didn’t have to, Doll.” Chai placed her hand on Mugman's cheek, staring at him with soft eyes full of awe. He grinned and gently clasped her hand, moving his head to lay a gentle kiss on her palm.

hello!! i'm new to comics and i have a question that i'm scared to ask on twitter lol... i always see people fight about ivy's sexuality. about if she is bi or lesbian and i don't know which is true? i'm so confused😭

hi there. short answer: she's unlabeled sapphic in most iterations and canonically bisexual in some—namely hqtas and poison ivy thorns

if you'd like a longer and more detailed answer, read below the cut

harley quinn the animated series

in this universe — which consists of the show itself and spin-off comics (written by tee franklin) — ivy is canonically bisexual.

she dated a guy named dan back in college, used to hook up with selina, was engaged to kiteman, and is currently dating harley.

poison ivy: thorns (2021)

this is a young adult graphic novel written by kody keplinger and illustrated by sara kipin. it was released as part of dc's celebratory line of pride books last year. in this universe, ivy is confirmed bisexual

i often see people bring this up

and i have to point out that neither jimmy nor amanda ever specified that ivy is bi. they didn't label her sexuality. what they did say was this

"but google says..."

i've seen a number of people use this as "proof" recently and again, not valid. that is a fandom wiki that just about anyone can edit and write anything they please. i checked to see if the person in question provided any references i may not be aware of and unfortunately they didn't. they only mention the existence of a "pride cover featuring poison ivy with the lesbian flag" and apparently they're talking about the kris anka variant for harley quinn #4 that was released last year

the color scheme can be misleading for sure. i don't know if anka did it intentionally or not, but i do know for a fact that he's normally not shy about attaching a pride flag aesthetic to a character. a solid example is his work on marvel's runaways, which has karolina dean (canon lesbian) and nico minoru (canon bisexual)

so if he intended for that to be the lesbian flag, on a cover for the harley quinn run that features both harley and ivy, i believe he would've definitely found a way to center the flag colors on ivy alone. but, again, i can't possibly claim to know exactly what went on through his head, so, at the end of the day, make of it what you will, i suppose

meanwhile... (still on the topic of dc pride covers)

jen bartel opted for a bi color scheme for both of her harlivy variants, very much on purpose.

now onto why her sexuality is such a hot topic for debate despite everything mentioned above. ivy has been portrayed as a misandrist more often than not. she never pursues romantic or sexual relationships with men without an ulterior motive—they are always a means to an end. with women, it's different. the connection is genuine, the feelings are real. her main love interest in the main continuity of the comics and almost every alternate universe, is harley. and whenever she happens to get a different love interest, it's a woman (see this post) even the casual hook-ups are with women (e.g. catwoman lonely city #3 and poison ivy #4)

and so, of course, none of this invalidates the possibility of her being bisexual. because misandry and bisexuality are not mutually exclusive, and her aversion to men stems from past traumatic experiences and the abuse she suffered at the hands of jason woodrue. but, at the same time, a case can just as easily be made that she is lesbian-coded. either way: she loves women. the end. 💚

OH MY GOODNESS, LEON WOULD LITERALLY BE SWEATING.

Knowing Leon; he’d probably show up in a fancy suit. Him and his now wife had been dating for a couple of months, having to push back when he’d finally be able to meet her parents because of work. He wanted to look presentable and nice, especially after finding out her father was a high ranking military official.

He’d probably show up with flowers in hand for your mother, giving her a hug as she kissed both of his cheeks and treated him like a baby. All while her father stood back and watch with his arms folded, poor guy was probably shivering as his girlfriend’s mother introduced her husband, giving Leon a nice firm nod and extending his hand out.

They had planned a nice little dinner together; His girlfriend and her mother would finish cooking in the kitchen as her father quite literally conducted an entire interview with Leon in the living room.

“What do you do for work?”

“What are you trying to do with my daughter?”

“How long were you in training for?”

Being the nice respectful guy he was, he’d reply with “No sir” or “Yes sir” to his questions. Go into further depth with the harder ones, really trying to get on the old man’s good side. They had a little talk about the army and stuff, listening to his old stories before your mother and you finally finished the food.

Dinner went well, so far your parents absolutely adored him. Especially your mother; she’d probably be telling your father “Can you believe it Dave? Our little girl with an amazing man like him! I know he’ll protect her, especially with that fancy government job he has!” Leon would just blush and thank her, smiling and happily eating his steak.

Let’s just say, as soon as he felt, your mother was already gossiping with you. Talking about how “Handsome” and “Strong” he was. You just blushed at giggled, agreeing with her every word.

Love this 🎀anon, but I have a feeling as soon as her father heard his name he knew who Leon was. Everybody knows everybody in certain lines of work!

The second he hears your father is a general in the military he has a lot of questions. He's questioning you and you're answering to the best of your abilities. But his rank pops up. Four star general... Your father is a four star general. One of the highest ranks you could possibly get...

Then his brain starts turning, your last name moving through his head until it finally sticks. He's scrubbed floors at the rumor of that man showing up. Knows stories of how ruthless he is and the things that man's done. Climbing ranks quickly in the Army with the amount of raw potential he had.

"General Tarkin..." You freeze for a minute looking at him.

"The Star Wars character?"

"No, the other cadets... They'd call him General Tarkin. I know your father... Well, know of your father. Never met him personally but I've heard he's... Terrifying." Your father? Terrifying? You laugh at the thought, smiling at your boyfriend who seems to look a lot more tense than he already was.

"Daddy's not terrifying. He's like a giant teddy bear if anything." Leon knows you mean well but the thought of meeting this man has his stomach in knots. Not only would he have to impress her parents but the man who he knew could do a lot of things to make his life more miserable if he pissed him off.

Leon was definitely gonna have some kind of stomach ulcer with the amount of stress by the end of the night.

Your mother adored him, wouldn't stop calling him handsome and welcoming him into the family without even thinking about it. But Leon could hardly focus feeling the generals burning glare on him from behind your doting mother.

As soon as Leon introduced himself, your father tightens his grip on Leon's hand.

"I know who you are boy."

Boy... That's the name Leon gets stuck with for a chunk of the night and sometime after.

Your father tells you to go help your mother with dinner and you happily follow. Leaving the two of them alone in the den. Sitting across from each other in silence for a few minutes.

"You know me?" Leon's the first to speak, your father still staring him down with his arms crossed.

"Hard not to. President Graham speaks highly of you for helping him with his daughter. We're friends, told him personally who my daughter was seeing and he couldn't stop talking about you." His face tightens as he leans forward, towards Leon.

"I've read the reports from '04. Know what you saw. But I don't take too kindly knowing my daughter's dating a man who skipped around in Spain with another woman. Even if it was to protect her."

Leon's at a loss for words. What even could he say!?

"What're your intentions with my daughter?" Oh thank God something he can answer.

"To be with her, Sir." The generals face softes slightly with a nod.

"You love her?"

"More than anything, Sir."

"You wanna marry her? Have a family?"

"When the time comes, Sir."

The grilling continued until you came in to save him with the news of dinner being done. Your father didn't say much after that. Your mother talking all through dinner and dessert.

Upon leaving you and Leon say your goodbyes and take off. Your mother looks at your father as he shuts the door and smiles.

"Well?" She questions, looking at him.

"He'll do fine." He says, smiling ear to ear.

So actually I was first and foremost inspired by Jass (YES HELLO @lunapwrites) and their drabble for the NSFW workshop in the Guild. I was fascinated with the concept of Remus and Lily being together and the drabble itself was also so hot 🤭

I lounged into writing them while creating a story for Dumbledore's Armada flash comp, and it was in majority inspired by Taylor Swift's song, Ivy. It was also my prompt for the challenge.

I've been writing jily since forever, and it was the first pairing that sprung to my mind when I read the song lyrics. But... the song suggests a threesome or some kind of a love (loveless?) triangle. So I added Remus to the equation.

He's in the room Your opal eyes are all I wish to see He wants what's only yours

And honestly, they just fit in together–they are both so smart, so in love with books and knowledge. I headcanon Lily as the one being a control-freak, and Remus being the one grounding her. The ivy metaphor comes right from Taylor's song–ivy is a bit toxic, poisonous, needs something else to grow on and climb to the sky. It seemed to fit as their relationship isn't exactly healthy though consensual and safe in terms of proper BDSM etiquette. However, my idea since the very beginning was a big one–too big to be told in just under 2k words, especially since I wanted to dive into the friends-to-lovers trope and explore the feelings Lily had for both men.

I believe that she loved them both, and that's what makes the story tragical. Remus gave her something James couldn't. He was always gentle with her, taking care of her, understanding her, giving her a safe place though wrapped in ivy.

It's still one of my favourite stories I have ever written. 🌿

Kristanna Halloween Days - Cottage Gore (Freebie - whenever you feel like it!)

Hey, Kristanna Fandom! October is 2 months away! There's just a few things to keep in mind as you start thinking about your fan works for Kristanna Halloween Days 2022.

All works should be Kristanna based.  Threesomes/poly relationships that include Kristoff/Anna are allowed, along with gender bend/rule 63.

There are 7 themes for postings on specific days throughout October, along with one freebie theme to use any time.  Each theme is broad enough to have the potential for cutesy, erotic, and horrific.  Works should at least be related to the designated theme for the posting time period, and do not necessarily have to be about Halloween, though they should at least be seasonal.

All ratings are acceptable, but please tag and trigger warn appropriately, and adhere to Tumblr's terms of service.
