🐱 Nightwing #110 rambling AKA wailing about how Dick and Jon love Damian

backtracking to 2 weeks ago in Titans #6 for a sec when Dick expressed how he wanted to look for Damian - it was nice to get a nod of Dick being concerned, but i was a bit bummed he didn't start a search. and i get it, the world needs saving, Dick's gotta do what he has to!!

different writer/story, but this line popped into my head the moment Babs said Earth needs the Titans

Damian means the world to Dick!! the Titans can take care of the literal world without him for a bit!!

but ykw it's fine since this issue proved me wrong, and Dick looks for Damian anyway!! 😭 basically "the world's still in danger but my brother needs me right now" this was just the start of the issue and i fell to my knees THEY BOTH REALLY DROPPED EVERYTHING FOR DAMIAN

the part where they plan to wait out Damian's match was so funny to me because Dick keeps repeating to Jon that they shouldn't engage, but then Dick just goes "NEVERMIND i'm going in" 😭 he couldn't stand watching Damian be hurt anymore i'm weeping

with context this is actually so sad for Damian orz otherwise i just wanted to say i love these drawings!! it's just a really cool page to me - i love the posing, especially in the hands/claws!! the intense expressions!! also so efficient in showing how the match escalates with Damian quickly overpowering Gail (along with seeing Jon's dread 🙁)

THEY WERE SO WORRIED ABOUT WHAT THIS WOULD DO TO DAMIAN 😭

HEAD IN MY HANDS...CRYING... i'm assuming Damian's hands are still supposed to be covered in blood since the first thing he thinks about when he returns to being human is what he had done without his control. and this bothers him to the end of the issue 😭 (HIS EXPRESSIONS EVEN WITH THE MASK ON 😭)

not sure if it's intentional, but Dick's speech to Damian in B:WFA ep 113 is kinda brought to canon here through both Dick and Jon

this was a sleep deprived reactionary rambling, so not much thought is left in my head lol i was hoping for some cute cat Damian shenanigans, but i'll happily take Dick and Jon being protective over Damian! 🥺

#my art stuff #beetlejuice #cartoon #toonjuice #digital art #bugs #emoji #I made my own brush for the bugs so I can use them in the future #I’m trying to make art more enjoyable for myself and that means making it much less complicated and take less time #so I’m hoping to use this brush more in the future when drawing beej #or things in general #I’m getting better at lightning the weight I put on myself with my art #but it’s an upphills battle and I am STRUGGLING #I’ve been using this eene inker randomly for a while now and it’s making art so much easier to do for me somehow #but it looks so disgusting in my art. not cus it’s an ugly brush. I think it’s really nice-looking actually #but I have such a strong need for all my art to look clean and for every line to be intentionally put where it is #I have a tendancy to go in and fix singular pixels in EVERYTHING when I draw. even if just to make it intentionally look unintentional #but this brush does it on it’s own and I haven’t felt this relaxed while making digital art in MANY years and it’s STRESSING ME OUT #but it’s good that I can relax. That’s the goal. I want to be able to rnjoy drawing again.#The biggest hurdle is my autism hating change but once I’m past that I know I’ll be right as rain #in the meantime I hope people can still enjoy what little stuff I mannage to crank out randomly #also don’t ask me what the style is. my hand just went off with the “whatever just get it down real quick” mentality #I really need to draw the sweetheart more… I say when he is all I draw besides myself anymore-

#ramblings of a lunatic #batman and robin #damian wayne #dc comics #''ladel are you gonna get obsessive about the character again and hunt down any and all official art of them-'' no what makes u say that #nikola cizmesija was the artist on the recent red hood gotham wars tie-ins btw! same colourist as those issues too #...idk how much dc tumblr is actually in to the production side of comics. i know i am but i have a feeling that's not universal #anyway i actually really like to know the individual artists colourists and inkers on stuff if i can it's fun!#anyway i quite liked the art in those red hood issues so i am :] excited for issues 5 and 6!#there was also a cover(?) defs done by cizmesija that has damian and bruce in like underwater batsuits? like they're wet suits #and they're fighting orca on it! and cizmesija mentioned getting to design new suits so! it seems like we're getting an underwater adventure #for that arc at least! the writer joshua williamson said that he's trying to focus the structure more around shorter arcs this time #so it seems like in the shorter breather arcs we might get little artist changes to break it up?? neat imo #i like a book w consistent art if I'm really vibing w the art but i get that a lot of ppl have mixed feelings on di meos art for b&r #so I'm interested to see what the reception will be to cizmesijas when it comes out in...i think January? same month as the annual #i saw a solicit that said the art for the annual was by Howard Porter but i could be wrong #god this got way off track. ANYWAY! he eat a burger #(also williamson has said before that damians a vegetarian so I'm assuming it's a veggie burger)

Paul Neary died on February 10th.

This is a gallery of him inking Bryan Hitch.

He inked a lot of Bryan Hitch’s most important comic book runs, and he inked Alan Davis on Excalibur. Great, great artist that had a knack for making the guys he inked look the better for it. He was also the EIC for Marvel UK for a good long while.
