You'll love it if you're into Ween, Wesley Willis or Moldy Peaches. Now, it's out and well worth the wait! Every song on here is a classic. But upon listening to the record - and, more importantly, reading its lyrics, which are included - it becomes obvious that the Frogs aren't crazed racists filled with hate. Sure, the album's topic is inherently controversial and the cover art features drummer Dennis Flemion costumed in blackface. The Frogs album that they recorded in 1993 was to racey for any labels to release. A sticker on the front of Racially Yours proclaims it 'The Most Controversial Album of All Time,' but, like most of what the Frogs do, that statement is quite over the top. Reviews are written by people that purchased this item from Interpunk If they can’t read, how can they run the country If they can’t write, they belong in. Musically the duo still know how to make astoundingly epic rock & roll, fractured folk, and heaven knows what else out of their particular stew, and as seems to be their preferred style, they're at their most outrageous when creating the most accessible music. The Frogs latest, Racially Yours, an album playing on racial stereotypes. When they both try out on an occasional duet, the results are even more disturbing - "Where's Jerry Lewis?" tears down that particular icon and more in a mere one-and-a-half minutes. Nirvana and Mudhoney and getting sampled by Beck on his hit Where Its At. Some of the more insane songtitles will confirm that much: "Which One of You Gave My Daughter the Dope?," "April Fools (He Had the Change Done at the Shop)," "Children Run Away (The Man with the Candy)," and the immortal wrongness of "Who's Sucking on Grandpa's Balls Since Grandma Ain't Home Tonight?" As before, the split between the two singers - Dennis Flemion's rasping multiple characters and Jimmy Flemion's sweetly vile troubadour - makes for even more entertainment. This controversial album by the Frogs consisted of tracks that were recorded in the early 1990s read more. To say that My Daughter the Broad is clearly a Frogs album and nobody else's is like saying the Pope is Catholic - there's no question about it, it simply is. A slew of selections from these tapes ended up forming My Daughter the Broad, a nicely rough counterpoint to the slicker, near-contemporaneous Starjob EP.

After Racially Yours couldn't be released in 1992, the Frogs spent several years recording away happily by themselves, creating a series of "Made-Up Songs" tapes that they sold and circulated to fans in between finding themselves feted by the alternative rock empire of the early '90s.

i really like interpunk as a concept...like i feel like so much of the intersex experience is defined by the dehumanization we experience and it can be so othering to feel like you’re not even human on a physical sense or whatever. i just like the idea of like.....reclaiming that on some level? like sayig “fuck you i don’t need to rely on someone else’s idea of humanity”

Interpunk / Inter Punk / Intersex Punk

A punk sub-label dedicated to fighting for intersex liberation. Interpunks actively fight against surgeries on intersex children, discrimination against intersex people in sports, misrepresentation, erasure, and fetishization of intersex people in society, and all other forms of intersexism.

This label is inclusive of all intersex traits and conditions, including PCOS and other stigmatized conditions. It is staunchly against "trans!ntersex" and the idea of perisex people "transitioning to become intersex" entirely (not altersex, altersex is fine. It's all about the language).

Interpunks will always call out intersexism when they see it and uplift intersex voices. Above all, interpunks fight for intersex liberation, rights, and voices to be heard.

The color meanings are as follows:

Purple - The diversity of intersex traits and the community

Light purple - Disabled intersex people

Yellow - Pride in being intersex

Pink - Intersex POC

Blue - Queer intersex people

In reference to the post made by @interpunked, I think that for a lot of intersex people who feel traumatized by womanhood it’s hard to feel like we need to have a relationship to it. I’ve also heard the same from a lot of gnc and nonbinary lesbians. Personally I don’t think this is just an experience that lesbians have, I think anyone who grows up being traumatized by womanhood and finds out they’re attracted to women is going to have hardship. Trying to figure out what your sexuality is while intersex can be incredibly difficult.

But for the sake of talking about the lesbian community, it’s important to acknowledge that it’s dominant influence is dyadic, cisgender, and white. I’ve met so many people who fall outside those lines who feel that they’re not even allowed to be lesbians because of how dominant that voice is, people who would otherwise call themselves lesbians afraid to even step into a real life community space, and for a good reason. We’re kicked out, frowned upon, ignored, singled out, the only time the spotlight is on us is when we’re being tokenized. It’s an exhausting experience.

That’s why when you see people talking about how they feel hurt in your community, you listen. No that doesn’t mean you need to agree, it doesn’t mean you have to bow down and tell them they’re right, it means that you read/hear what they are saying, do not ignore it, and try to understand the places of hurt and rejection that they are coming from. You don’t feed into the myth that they’re not real, you give them the chance to speak, hear them out, and then treat them like they’re a person.

This is such a neat ask, yes there kind of isI don’t know much about the other punk movements but I know that interpunked is something that I’ve talked about in our intersex server called interchat, which inspired the name of one of our mods side blogs @interpunked

I think it would be great if it kicked off and was more used, we deserve something that makes us feel empowered in the way that your above-mentioned movements do. Nothing official or widely used yet that I know of, I know we use the tag #ActuallyIntersex, and I think recently Pidgeon has started a tag called #IntersexJoy. If anyone else knows please add on or comment!

November 14th

the Conan O’Brien performance aired

the band was also on TRL this day with Snoop Dogg, Elijah Wood, and Robin Williams. I think they were trying to get the most ridiculous combination of people together, but I just... have so many questions still haha. (some other dead or blocked links: one, two, three, four).

Fuse also aired the segments about the making of the Lying Is The Most Fun music video, but I thought those fit the context of the summer playlist better.

The AFYCSO box set was released and was available at tons of places like Borders, Amazon, Best Buy, FYE, Interpunk, Barnes & Noble, Hot Topic, HMV, the FBR webstore, and more. It was originally $50 but some sites/stores had a slight discount.

I think this MTV segment about the NRWC tour was shown on TRL on the 13th... fans at the meet & greet on the first day of tour said MTV was there filming stuff.

November 16th: MOD & MTV

The band was in Toronto so they did interviews & performances for both MOD and MTV Live on the same day. Spencer didn’t seem to be at either one. The fans who were at the MOD taping mostly shared the same comments: a big school group got the better seats and those kids weren’t even P!ATD fans, the people outside got soaked in the rain but at least they had the chance to get autographs, and Jon seemed worn out & didn’t stay outside as long to sign stuff because he wasn’t wearing the right shoes for the rain.

Jon had mentioned that Ryan had a girlfriend in a recent interview, so Ryan said it himself on MOD for the first time. Obviously some fans were upset, but I was surprised by how many people were just happy that Ryan was happy (for this week at least).

the Buzz Bishop interview with Jon on November 21st totally spoiled the surprise that some fans were planning. JWalk was a really big OC fan and had posted on the band’s journal that he was missing this season. Leah & her friends burned some episodes onto dvds for him to watch on the tour bus and then several people offered to hand the package to Jon at an upcoming meet & greet. So that surprise was ruined, but the rest of this interview was still fun.

On December 5th the band had to be at the San Jose Improv before 6am for a free performance that anyone could attend. A lot of the fans who were there said that Brendon’s voice sounded horrible like he just woke up and was still tired (I doubt he even went to sleep in the first place lol since the show was in Pacific time and Brendon had to wake up well before sunrise... that probably seemed like waking up at 1-2am eastern time). The band played IWSNT & Lying Is The Most Fun and also did a short Q&A (those are all in the playlist above).
