The funniest part of this new event is the fact I can't find out what's going on it from spoilers. All context is lost in the wave of Hot Eel Mom. I love her, all hail Georgina, mother of This and That, but where is the context? What *is* the event?

to be fair, we're still in the intro part, so not much has actually happened yet! Jade and Floyd were supposed to go to their mom's friend's wedding to help with the ancient merfolk marriage custom of

but Floyd last-minute changed his mind (on account of being Floyd) and Azul was like "I'm not going if your mom is going to be there". at which point Jade realized he'd just been handed a golden opportunity to invite the absolute funniest group of people he could think of.

anyway tl;dr Jade manipulates a bunch of nerds into joining him to heckle/throw bricks at/try to drown a couple of randos in the name of love, what could possibly go wrong

It makes so much sense that Fjord is the one to start coaching Beau on how to adjust her self-presentation to be less abrasive, considering he is someone who is actively thinking about his presentation at all times especially in the early game

Fanfiction is great because you never have to let go of your favourite characters. That is, until you find that one author who writes The Character in a way nobody else does. Every other interpretation of The Character becomes a pale imitation of themself, and you are cursed to roam the fandom forever, looking for The Character in other people's works, but only catching glimpses of the way that author wrote them. So close and yet so far.

I'm surprised by the amount of people who think Reid is being serious here:

given the expressions immediately after:

where reid very clearly smiles and looks to see hotch's reaction (because he has daddy issues). and hotch almost looks like he's trying not to smile. or that he thinks the joke is bad. hard to tell

also, dowd says it himself:

you could maybe argue that reid didn't hear him say that because at the time he was laying in the hallway after getting hit in the head with the gun, but that doesn't really matter. it's not like this is a revelation.

also:

I doubt Hotch would have Reid hang on to his gun if he genuinely thought Reid had shot a man in the head while aiming for his leg, especially because aiming for his leg would have been a terrible idea in the first place.

Okay, y'know the whole thing of like, Sans can deduce a lot from small things like telling how many times he's killed you from your expression and what have you?

That had to have carried over to any variations on classic undertale right?

Just imagine being Nightmare, thinking you are being so sneaky and mysterious and withholding information on your whole life, only for one of your henchmen to one day off-handedly mention some extremely specific (and correct) detail about you that they just figured out from the way you speak or how you eat or something random

anecdote i think about often is my mom telling me how back at the family farm way back when, there was a pair of polish guys helping out over the winter (probably through the wwoof program or something similar, it's how my mom came to norway, too). they took a liking to a norwegian equivalent of nutella (either nugatti or hapå, can't remember which) and started eating absolutely bonkers quantities of it. they had to buy more and larger containers of it to keep up with their ravenous hunger for chocolatey spread. when it was their time to leave, they each got their big bucket of it to take home with them.

they stayed in touch, and much later the polish guys admitted to not understanding how they could eat so much nugatti. they had barely made a dent in their souvenir buckets for all the time that had passed. as it turns out, when you're toiling outside in the arctic winter, the body Craves the sugar to keep up with the phsyical demand. it makes sense right!!! turns out bodies crave things for a reason and it's not a personal failing!!!
