Castiel Headcanons

Black wings that would gain rainbow hues in the light, much like crows'.

Angelic form has the head of a lion, hare, and sheep, the body of a stag mixed with a panther, two pairs of wings on the body but another two pairs curled over the eyes of the sheep and the hare, the paws of a panther, and a long but sturdy tail covered in eyes with a spike shaped like his angel dagger at the tip, with another thinner tail beside it bearing a scorpion stinger. The body's wings would also be covered in eyes. There would be feathers just above their paws, also wings spread open around the face of the lion head so that their shining blue eyes are visible.

Got a cassette player soley for the purpose of playing the cassette Dean gave him. He searched for it almost immediately, confusing several store owners by going into grocery stores and gas stations inquiring about a cassette player. After procuring one, it sat in the pocket of his trench coat alongside a couple of earbuds when not in use. Sometimes he would pull it out, resting the wired ear buds on his shoulders on the lowest volume setting above mute for the sake of his sensitive hearing. He'd listen as he searched for various artifacts and knowledge on his quests, memorizing and reciting some lyrics even as he engaged on heavenly battlefields.

His sense of smell is heightened, but he enjoys the scent of leather, the ocean, frankincense, myrrh, joy, and papers scattered over desks.

Castiel would have perfect pitch, but he sometimes struggles to have his vessel make the sounds.

Unicorns exist, and they are among his favorite of God's creatures. Some live in Heaven's garden. He also particularly favors bees and birds.

Charlie convinced him to sit down and watch The Last Unicorn, and he could have cried. Dean teared up and blamed it on the dust, but laughed and raised his eyebrows at the tree scene.

Is aware of the locations of several undiscovered temples and shrines throughout the world, and sometimes offhandedly mentions (much to the surprise of his human compatriots) that a random restaurant or landmark mentioned on the news sits not 17 yards away from the perfectly preserved tomb of an ancient king.

In addition to the previous, he points out falsehoods and misconceptions while overhearing Sam's historical documentaries. He would hear the narrator describing how the Voynich Manuscript was debunked and likely featured nonsense plant drawings and cut in with the bizarre story that the plants were real flora from a planet several million lightyears away. Sam would beg him to elaborate.

Gets frustrated with how many holy sites and artifacts get plowed over and demolished with human's obsession with economic "progress" and unbridled growth. Has on occasion gone out of his way to save certain objects. Before he met Dean, he justified it to himself as preserving them in case they are needed later.

Has teleported into the Winchesters' restrooms unexpectedly while they were showering and proceeded to speak to them as if nothing notable was occurring while they screamed about privacy. (Angels have no concept of shame in nakedness, as that was the consequence of eating the fruit.)

Music is very subjective so it’s hard to rank anyone’s taste as “best” or “worst” without insulting a genre that someone loves. Instead I’ll list what I think the Mane 6’s music tastes look like!

Twilight Sparkle: Listens to classical music while studying and considers herself smart for knowing a lot about it, but now that she has friends and is more social she also loves dancey pop music! Jamming out to songs like “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” in the dorky way she does

Applejack: Obviously loves country music, but I think she prefers the “old country” and country music up through the 90s for the most part. The modern songs about drinking beer and driving trucks get old because she can tell a lot of those folks don’t actually work on a farm. She prefers good old honest storytelling

Pinkie Pie: She has a lot in common with Twilight in that she loves music that makes her dance! Whatever gets a good party started is her jam, including disco, techno pop, children’s music, and other kinds of pop tunes. Anything that’s fun and upbeat

Fluttershy: Having canonically joined an acapella group, she definitely loves those kinds of artists (like Pentatonix). She also has a very Disney Princess style of singing so I could see those soundtracks being part of her taste too (including a bit of musical theatre perhaps!) I also find it funny to imagine her listening to hard rock music when she has frustrations to work through

Rarity: I’m partial to the headcanon that she listens to Marina, but to go more broadly I think Rarity loves artists that are creatively inspiring. That is, who are colorful, fun, and break barriers (she’d draw inspiration from the likes of Lady Gaga and Chappell Roan). Sometimes she also needs music she can have a good cry to, so she has plenty of breakup anthems on her playlist

Rainbow Dash: Canonically seems to be into rock music, and would also probably be into breakcore-type tunes. Her music taste is basically whatever can get her hyped up for a fast-paced workout. Most of the time she doesn’t listen to the lyrics or finds songs with no lyrics, but she is into some awfully “edgy” artists like Hollywood Undead just because she thinks it makes her cool

I think Rainbow Dash would dance to Hollywood Undead and think she's Charlie Scene, but when she actually goes to the club to whip her metaphorical dick around she passes out before she can get to that point. Just for that I’m ranking her music taste as the worst

Positive:

-Loves to do things for you.

-Also loves it when you bake together.

-Keeps every single gift you give her in a box with rainbows and glitter on it.

-Unironically says 'yo mama' at the wrong times LMFAO

-Plays with your hair or fingers when she's in deep thought

-Brags to her dad about how you're the most amazing partner ever

-Has the most amazing made up stories and fantasies. Talks your ears off with them

-When you're laying in bed, and she wakes up before you, she'll lay on top of you to wake you up.

I'm not kidding. It can be 6 am, and she'll crawl over to your side of the bed and lay her whole body on yours.

-In general, she's super fun to be around.

Negative:

-Overworks herself.

With that, she forgets to eat.

On a few occasions she actually fainted.

-Becomes distant when something's bothering her.

-She can get too swept up in her ideologies/fantasies, that she doesn't see what's right infront her.

-Lowkey controlling, but doesn't realize it.

(I don't think there are many negative things about Charlie to be honest LOL)

Positive:

-Considerate.

-If she sees something that reminds her of you, she buys it.

-Knows how to calm you down/put you in your place.

-Admits when she's wrong, and knows when to apologize.

-Smells good. I have a feeling she just smells sweet. Like coconut or something.

-Has a great wardrobe. Let's you raid it every once in a while.

-Strong asf. Often lifts you up, and throws you over her shoulder.

-Aggressive.

Normally, she has no way of outing it, so she bottles it up. Because of this, she can come over as aggressive, simply because her cup overflows.

-Takes things too seriously.

-She hit you in a fight once, and she still regrets it.

-Also hold grudges.

-Gives you the silent treatment if you did something to her dislike.

-Surprisingly understanding.

-I said this once, and will continue to say it, he has AMAZING taste in music. Many of the characters do.

-A great cook.

His mom taught him many recipes, so he loves to make them for you.

-Protective.

-Open minded/open to new experiences

-Intelligent, always knows when you lie.

-Good at boardgames.

Beat you at Uno SO many times, it's getting a little humiliating..

-Aware of your likes and dislikes, whether that be: Music, clothes, topic of conversation, certain foods, and tries to help you avoid those things in your daily life.

-Gets along with your mother very well.

He's always willing to lend her a hand.

Negative:

-Obsessive.

-Has his eye on you 95% of the time. Not in a good way.

-Decides things for you without you asking him/giving him permission.

Because he's born in the 1890's he's super old fashioned. Therefore I think he would strike his kids if they misbehaved.

-Doesn't get along with your male friends, and is 'overly' friendly with your female friends, which makes it seem like he's flirting with them.

-Loves grocery shopping or shopping in general with you.

-Notices small changes in your behavior, whether it's due to stress or simply a bad day, and helps you relax/cheer you up.

-Is great at planning dates!

-Also has amazing music taste.

I personally think a few of his main artists are:

-Funny as hell. No pun or joke gets past him.

-Great with animals! If you have a pet, he has a nickname for them.

-Unironically calls you 'Pookie' or 'Snukems'

-Has a good memory. Remembers your favorite color, your favorite flower, etc.

-Chases you around the house/appartment with a bug he caught. (Whether that's negative or positive is totally up to you)

Negative:

-Doesn't really understand/do boundaries, so he'll often take things too far.

-Argumentive. He enjoys a good argument or fight, which makes it difficult to find a solution to the problem your fighting about.

-Holds grudges.

-Overthinks the smallest things.

-Secretive. It takes a lot to get him to talk about his feelings and problems.

-Takes his anger out on you sometimes.

-Passive aggressive.

-Borrows your things without your permission, and doesn't put them back when he's done.

Husk:

Positive:

-Funny. Like, his jokes are actually hilarious. Unlike Alastor who makes the most awful dad jokes ever.

-Is so fully aware when your bullshiting him, he just pretends not to know.

-As i said in previous headcanons, he LOVES to dance with you.

He's super good at it too!

Has his hands all over you.

Hips, waist, neck, back, you name it.

-Will never admit it, but he likes it when you sneak up on him/jump him.

-In general he's pretty accepting of physical touch.

-He purrs, when you scratch his ears or something.

-Leaves you small gifts and letters around the house/appartment.

Negative:

-Messy. Has trouble cleaning/keeping things clean.

-Forgetful. Often forgets your dates.

-Anger Issues.

-Snaps at you when he's overwhelmed or stressed. Doesn't apologize for it because he's not aware of it. You'd have to point it out to get an apology out of him.

-Easily irritated.

When you're too close to him, when he's in a bad mood or when you take jokes a little too far, he ignores you for a few hours.

The Deer Gods AU

In an isolated village in Ireland, the population still worships two Cervitaurs, half-deer, half-man creatures. One of blood red brings Death, the other with white fur grants Life. Hidden in a sanctuary in the heart of the forest, they protect the village and its inhabitants… until the day the Crusader Knights arrive in the Village to bring the Good Word! Between shenanigans and plots, friendship and cruelty, the Deer Gods will have to fight to survive this invasion.

Well, this AU, I have already introduced it to you ^^ Alastor and Lucifer are Cervitaurs and are Charlie's parents. Their life is peaceful until the arrival of the Crusaders led by Adam. The fiction is already available in French on AO3 and Wattpad and the translation is currently in progress.

Son of the Radio AU

Alastor has a Hellborn son: Wendigo aka Wend! The young demon deer, although almost as powerful as his father, does not seek to dominate Hell but joins Princess Charlie Morningstar in her Redemption Hotel project, mainly in order to help his boyfriend: Angel Dust! However, when Alastor returns after 7 years of absence, he doesn't really seem to accept the relationship between his son and the porn actor.

This AU is the one that presents the most OCs. There are three ^^ however, this AU is the only one where I don't use the Huskerdust. Husk will still have an important role with Angel but no romance is expected for them since Angel is already in a relationship.

Genderbend Alastor AU where Alastor is a woman named Alanor, the Radio Demon with boundless cruelty and a dark past who hates men more than anything. But why? What could she hide?

Let Me Be Surprised AU

Alastor has just died! But Heaven being far too calm for him, Alastor steals the watch that represents his life and winds it up to return to Earth, unwittingly dragging Lucifer with him. Now immortal, Alastor is determined to take his life back in hand and become unforgettable! And for that, he intends to use Lucifer's naivety as well as the exceptional powers of Emily and Charlie, two angel and demon twins who say they are the daughters of Lilith, the Queen of Hell!

Not How It Seems AU

Alastor was murdered when he was only 9 years old. But instead of going to Heaven like all children's souls, he ends up in Hell! With incredibly powerful powers, he becomes the Terrible Radio Demon and obtains the title of Overlord. When he hears about the Queen's Redemption project, his curiosity and desire for fun make him join the crazy adventure of the Hazbin Hotel! However, in Hell as elsewhere, things are never what they seem!

A kind of Swap AU where Alastor is the only Sinful Child, where Charlie is an angel, daughter of Michael and Sera, twin sister of Emily who was fallen and who became Queen of Hell with her wife Vaggie and who is constantly in competition for the throne with Satan, former Prince of Hell, and Lilith, First Woman who became Sin of Pride. But despite her kingdom in precarious balance, Charlie is determined to make up for her mistakes by rehabilitating the Sinners in order to stop the Exterminations led by Adam and his son Abel!

Second Chance AU (based on Helluva Boss but mixed with Hazbin Hotel)

Stolas just died… he remembers feeling his last breath leave him… and yet, he wakes up in his child's body, a few days after his birthday where he met Blitzø. Realizing that he was given a second chance to live, Stolas decides to no longer lead his life to make his neglectful father proud, preferring to do everything to be happy and hoping to fix the mistakes he made in his past life. And surprisingly, the key to his happiness seems to be by becoming the adopted son of the King and Queen of Hell.

Quite old AU but which has more or less regained its meaning first with the series Hazbin Hotel (for characters such as Lucifer, Charlie and Lilith and the others) and the last episodes of Helluva Boss

The Doe King AU (made for the Doe Lucifer Week)

Lilith, outraged that Lucifer offers to carry the child they can't have, makes a pact with Sera, promising her that she will never give Lucifer children if she helps her make him weaker. With the power granted by Heaven, she curses Lucifer to be stuck in a doe's body and chases him from the throne. Lucifer manages to survive thanks to the support of the Sins Asmodeus, Beelzebub and Belphegor but he has no motivation to fight against Lilith because his heart is broken… until he meets Alastor.

I know, there are a lot of them. My brain is too inspired by Hazbin Hotel 😅

So ever since Mastermind, I’ve been seeing the expected number of ‘What if Lucifer or Charlie was present at the trial?’ fics/headcanons positing that either of their presence would have had them speak out on Blitzo’s and/or Stolas’ behalf and led to the PERFECT ending where the evil schemes of Andy-the-not-actually-a-sister-fucker are foiled and both Blitzo and Stolas are acquitted and it’s all sunshine and rainbows and puppies for everyone (except those evil rich people (except the ones we like)). And like, that’s all well and good…

But let’s be real. Even with a deck not massively stacked against them, or even stacked in their favor, both Blitzo and/or Stolas could ABSOLUTELY still find a way to fuck things up for themselves. I mean we’re talking about one guy who opened his defense with “Those orphans were already sick!” and “But when is attempting a crime a crime?”, and the other guy for whom ‘throwing my life away in a big dramatic heroic sacrifice for the man I love’ was Plan A.

And I just think that sounds way more fun and interesting then Lucifer or Charlie being some author-insert to serve as a secret cheat-code for the Golden Happy Ending for the episode.

Sure, Lucifer or Charlie being present almost certainly means things would go better for Blitzo, Stolas and co. regardless, but again I feel like it’s just way more interesting and fun and honestly in-character for these two gay idiots to still find a way to fuck things up for themselves.

Like imagine if Lucifer wants to hear Blitzo out at the critical vote, not so much because he really gives a fuck, but more because he’s bored and is also just messing with Satan.

And throughout the rest of the trial Lucifer is mostly just dicking around being a bored little gremlin. With the his only real contribution being to veto outright executing Blitzo, and even then that’s only thanks to Blitzo mentioning that Loona is his daughter. Sure, he may barely give a fuck at this point, but having a man killed in front of his own daughter? That’s pretty fucked up, don’t you think?

Which probably leads to some petty bickering between Lucifer and Satan about why they can’t just send Loona out of the room and THEN kill Blitzo, which then probably escalates/tangents to some ‘petty, jilted ex’s’-esque arguing that may or may not have some of the other Sins piping in for shits and giggles that is really only stopped when Stolas bursts in with his big ‘dramatic, gay heroic sacrifice via song-number’ gambit.

And Lucifer is in fact totally okay with Stolas getting stripped of his power and position, because hey he did a whole song number for it, but he draws the line at Stolas getting separated from his daughter. Also Andrealphus doesn’t get to be regent of Stolas’s position because Lucifer doesn’t like him for extremely petty reasons.

Meanwhile, I feel like Charlie sitting in for her dad probably wouldn’t turn out much better.

Sure, Charlie would want to hear Blitzo out, and ABSOLUTELY give a fuck about his situation. But let’s not forget that this is BLITZO we’re talking about, and giving him a chance to talk is ALSO giving him a chance to dig himself into a deeper hole.

For example; what do think Charlie’s reaction is going to be to learning what Blitzo and co. were actually DOING with that grimoire they got from Stolas?

You know, the princess of Hell who’s trying to deal with the sinner-overpopulation problem learning that these imps are likely contributing to said overpopulation problem? As well as the whole ‘murder business’ thing.

Which would likely put Blitzo in the awkward and hilarious position of probably having to argue AGAINST the person arguing for his life because that person ALSO wants to shut down his business.

And of course because this is Blitzo we’re talking about, there is a VERY good chance he just makes a total ass of himself or at the very least puts his foot in his mouth in epic fashion.

And if she’s present, I can imagine Vaggie at some point is leaning over to quietly ask Charlie if they really NEED to be defending this guy?

Maybe this eventually leads to Blitzo, or Stolas or perhaps Moxxie making some big, dramatic, emotional, heartfelt plea, possibly in musical form, for them to be allowed to continue their wholesome family business… of murdering people.

Which is exactly when, again, Stolas chooses to burst in with his big self-sacrificial song number and make things even worse/wackier.

All in all, as much as people may love their ‘here’s how we could/should have gotten a perfect happy ending!’ author-tracts, I think this option is way more in-character, interesting and most importantly fun XD

Things don't go right back to sunshine and rainbows when they do finally set things aside and call a truce. Both were hurt and there's many years of bitterness and resentment to wash away.

Vaggie gives Alastor the advice to take things slowly and to let them happen naturally. Angel and Husk give similar advice to Vox. There's a wall between them that is years thick. It will take some time to come down.

It's not easy. They bicker a lot and take things very personally when it comes to each other. Sometimes their fights get so bad they have to be broken up by the others to stop them from getting physical.

They never end up apologizing to each other for these fights, just agree to put it behind them.

The thing that finally truly cracks the wall between them is actually one of Alastor's shitty puns. It's Angel who opens the door and Alastor just can't resist and everyone groans except for one single solitary genuine laugh. And every just looks at Vox who's got a hand over his mouth and looks mildly embarrassed. "What? It was funny."

And suddenly Alastor remembers what it was like to make Vox laugh and smile - a real smile, not that fake shit he wears for the cameras, for the public - and it becomes his personal mission to get more out of him.

The tension begins to ease between them. The bickering becomes banter. The jabs turn playful. The fights dissolve almost as quickly as they start.

Charlie nearly faints with happiness when Vox apologizes for starting their most recent squabble. She actually does faint when Alastor returns the sentiment.

"Uh, is she okay?"

"This is normal."

Things take an unexpected turn when Vox shows up at the hotel late one night, clearly upset, and requests to stay overnight. Charlie is concerned, but he doesn't want to talk about it so she doesn't press and gives him a room for the night. Vox thanks her and goes to grab a drink from the bar.

Vox always insists on paying for his drinks since he's not an actual guest of the hotel, but Husk talks him out of it this time ("You're staying the night, aren't you? That makes you a guest").

Alastor pretends he is not at all concerned about how much Vox is drinking. Because Vox doesn't drink. Not in any serious capacity. Maybe a glass or two. Never anything serious and never enough to make him lose control of himself.

The seventh glass has Alastor locking eyes with Husk and joining them at the bar for a glass of rye.

Husk makes some excuse to leave and they sit in silence for a long time before Vox finally speaks.

"I broke up with Valentino."

"Isn't that normal? I'm sure things will smooth over in a day or two."

Alastor bites back that scathing remarks he wants to make about the moth. It is not the time nor the place, not when their renewed friendship is still so raw and delicate.

"No it won't. Because I don't break up with him. He breaks up with me. Always." Vox stares into his drink. "I don't know why it made me so mad this time. It's not like him blowing me off to go sleep around with his whores is anything new. I just...I got so angry...and then he wouldn't stop screaming outside my fucking door..."

"Does he know you're here?"

"No. I left through the building's wiring. Idiot still probably thinks I'm in my room ignoring him."

Alastor wants to do something. Wants to rip and tear that moth to pieces. Instead he takes Vox's drink from his hands.

"Let's get you to bed."

Vox doesn't resist when Alastor takes a hold of his arm and guides him up to his room. The alcohol is clearly starting to hit because the Media Overlord is off balance and needs to hold onto Alastor and the railing to make it up the stairs.

"I'm gonna regret drinking so much when I wake up tomorrow, aren't I?"

"Oh certainly."

Once they reach Vox's room, Alastor loans him some sleep clothes and prepares to leave.

"Hey Alastor?"

"Hm?"

"Thanks."

"Of course, my friend. Any time."
