2. If you were a luxury brand, what would it be and why?

To be honest most luxury brands I don’t really like, but if it counts I love Tatcha, like the skincare brand! They have such a comforting aesthetic and energy about their marketing and their products are amazingly soothingly/calming.

3. Who is your personal hero and why?

My personal hero is my dad, despite the chaos that was my childhood, he was always willing to be there for me.

4. How do you react after a conflict occurs, and why?

When conflict occurs, I tend to get quiet and try to listen and understand why there is a conflict. I strongly believe in leaving any conversation with the feeling that the next day I won’t regret something I said.

5. If you were granted 3 wishes, what would it be?

I would wish for wealth, strong health, and a general sense of happiness and content in life.

6. What would you Google about your life?

I would LOVE to google my life timeline, like what I will be working as, who I marry, who my kids are, where I live, etc!

7. What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

My favorite thing about myself is my internal optimism. I always think about the worst case scenario just to prepare myself, but even despite that I always try to mentally flip things into an optimistic outlook. Times can be hard, but there are always greener pastures not too far away!

8. What's your toxic trait?

My toxic trait is that I can get into moods where I feel like the people around me all dislike me. I am very critical of myself and the things I say, and if I have a streak of what I feel like was poorly communicated things, I get disappointed in myself and fall into moods where everyone is frustrated with me. I always eventually break out of it, but it is something that affects my friendships around me, as I can become absent for a week or two.

9. Would you visit the future or past?

I would love to visit the future, but like a day in the future only. As fun as it would be to see my future, I feel like it could stress me out.

10. What are the biggest differences between you today/now and five years ago?

The biggest difference between the person I was five years ago and the person I am today, is that I am FAR more social and less shy. I went from being the person who would ONLY study during every waking minute or play video games, to being in multiple clubs and making lots of new friends! Advice I would give myself from five years ago, would be to focus on my health more because it really did help with my general self-esteem and let me be more of the person I want to be in life!

LMAO you know they're still the top of the line though, because he wouldn't put his name on it if they weren't. Silk, eco-friendly bamboo sheets. High quality cast iron. Waffle iron.

It's kinda funny because normally heroes don't use their sponsorship stuff (like Denki LOL)... but because he knows it's good, Bakugo DOES... and so all your houseware items have the little Dynamight insignia on them dksfajkds.

But anyway, YES!!! Absolutely starts a haircare line just because you suggest it. You mention it once (while you open your monthly delivery of all your favorite products) and two weeks later you see on his desktop that he's been contacting people about getting a label and factory and what not.

I also like the thought of... maybe kinda, instead of working with a brand that already make good shampoo or trying to setup a branch of your choice in japan... he like, gives you control over it all. Like, lets you work with chemists and designers to create a product that you'd like...

So while the bottle has like: "Dynamight Agency" on the corner of it, it's YOUR company + shampoo.

Definitely those vibes of like... low profile rich person spends a lot of time creating an extremely luxury self care brand because they can. Like Goop! or Tatcha lmao.

(I also really like the idea of Kiri with a hair care line, too. He has all the nice hair dyes and oils and conditioners... so when he hears you complaining about lack of curly hair treatments he's immediately going apeshit and helping create some.)

hello~ forgive me if you've answered this already (the app keeps telling me you've posted nothing under any key words 😓) but how do you feel about Tatcha as a brand? i've been really tempted to try their rice wash cleanser and dewy skin cream (they finally have travel sizes) but i'm not sure if it's worth it. 💕

i feel about tatcha the same way i feel about any luxury cosmetics brand: fun if you can afford it, but absolutely unnecessary for actual skin health and improvement one way or another. they have interesting formulations, sure, but there are dupes aplenty, and for all that they employ asian aesthetics for marketing, actual asian skincare is both more affordable and equally innovative, if not more.

Headcanon: Scents/Haircare/Skincare/Makeup

Scents: Jongsuk doesn’t wear the traditional men’s cologne, calling it a bit too boring and musky for his liking. He goes deep into the feminine and women’s perfums from some of the most popular houses. However, like his fashion, his likes for perfumes changes every season. Currently, since it’s summer, he wears light and flowery perfumes with a fresh touch to them. day to day, he switches between two of his ongoing favorites. One is a light flowery scent by Versace called Bright Crystal ($126) which is inspired by Donatella Versace’s favroite floral mix with subtle scents of yuzu, pomegranates and lotus flowers along peonies and magnolias. The other is Burberry’s My Burberry Blush($132), which a very flowery perfume with notes of rose and apples. In winter, and fall, he prefers the spiced and woody scents more so, rather since it’s a cold day and he wants to smell like fall. In winter and fall, he alternates between Victor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb Nectar ($150) which is an orange spiced scent with gunpowder and Versace’s Eros ($159) which is a woody scent marked with italian lemons and cedar. It’s obvious that he loves Versace and it’s no secret at all. He’s made his love for the brand public when he did a video on his clothes.

Makeup: Jongsuk is 100% a beauty guru and his flawless looks start from his makeup routine. Traditionally, he starts off with a foundation primer. He likes using Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer ($48) since he’s more often than not filming and taking selfies and his makeup has to last fairly long without touch ups. For foundation, for a long time, he used Bourjois Paris in shade 51 (light Vanilla){$20}. He recently transitioned to Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Pro Filtr Soft Matte Longwear foundation in Shade 105 (for pale skin) {$45}. Following the foundation, he does countours and highlights. For contour (to get those killer cheekbone shapes), he likes to use an Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit in the shade Light to Medium ($53). For highlights, he uses Charlotte Tillbury Hollywood Flawless Filter in shade Fair ($54). Everything then gets blended with a beauty blender and then he goes in on the rest of his makeup. If he has to go to practice, he will just do his eyeliner and lip gloss. If he goes out for the evening, then he does eye-shadow, brows, eyeliner, mascara and a tinge of lip gloss. For eyeliner, he uses Kat Von D tattoo liner ($27). His lipglosses change occasionally but for the most part, they’re nude, neutral colors either in light pink or beige. He has almost a whole bag of lip glosses but prefers Anastasia Beverly Hills ($22) or a NARS Orgasm Oil-Infused Lip Tint ($34). His eye-shadow palettes change with what he likes too, and he’s got way too many to count. Currently, a preferred favorite is Lunar Beauty’s Greek Goddess palette with lots of golds, pinks and sparkles ($61). He also owns the MorphexJames Charles palette but he’s not a huge fan of the obnoxiously bright colors. For his brows, he uses Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz pencil in Shade Medium ($28) but he also really likes Benefit Cosmetics Great Brow Basics Pencil and Gel Set in shade Medium ($41). In terms of mascara, he has way too many as well, but a current favorite is the Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara in Black ($32). Overall, his makeup routine, perfected to such a point, takes about 45 minutes for everything including eye-shadow, brows, mascara and about 20 minutes for just eyeliner and lipgloss. He’s done many tutorials talking about his makeup routine as well as the seasonal preferences.

Skincare: Jongsuk's skincare routine is very detailed since his skin is incredibly flawless. he doesn't usually wear a lot of foundation so his naturally pale skin is taken care of to almost an nth degree. His skincare routine usually take forty five minutes before he heads to trc in the morning and about an hour before bed. In the morning, he uses a moisturizer, followed by a serum and then a face mist. Before he does the moisturizer, he uses a face mask. The face mask that he prefers to use is Fresh Rose Face Mask ($80). It's a hydration mask that keeps his face nice and hydrated . Following that, he uses a Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Moisturizer ($60), since he's hitting 30 in a few years and it helps keep his skin looking younger as well allow for a clear canvas for him to do his makeup. He likes using an eye serum as well to keep himself looking young and handsome. He uses Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift & Firm Hydra-Gel Eye patches ($100) that help reduce puffiness and dark spots as well as reduce early age lines. He finishes off his skincare routine in the morning with a setting spray after all the makeup. Jongsuk uses a Fresh Rose Floral Toner ($53) to finish everything off. At night, his skincare is far more detailed since he actually has the time to take care of himself before he goes to bed and sleeps. First, he washes all the makeup off with a makeup remover. He always uses Tarte Micellar Magic Makeup Remover and Cleanser ($24) to clean off all the makeup he's worn during the day. He then thoroughly washes his face with a cleanser to start off his creams and masks on a clean slate. Most often he alternates between two cleansers and an exfoliator depending on the day of the week. He likes La Mer Cleansing Foam ($130) to purify and cleanse the skin, or Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk ($37) for soft skin. The exfoliator he uses once a week (typically Sundays) is Tatcha Rice Polish Foaming Enzyme Powder ($84). He uses the classic one which nourishes with crushed pearls. He rather likes the fact that it is taken from the Geisha preparation ritual and keeps him looking youthful and flawless. He then uses a regular face cream on his face. Jongsuk likes using Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb ($50). Finally, before he goes to sleep, he puts on an overnight mask on his face and goes to sleep. He really likes Laneige Water Sleeping Mask ($33) for an overnight moisture recharge.

Haircare: He doesn’t put much thought into his hairstyles but still takes good care of his hair and how he has it done. Jongsuk washes his hair three times a week with a color safe shampoo and conditioner. He hates dry shampoo. So anything dry shampoo related, hell no. He prefers to use Kerastase Reflection Shampoo for Color-Treated hair ($45) and the same brand conditioner ($48). The shampoo/conditioner combo allows him to keep his dyed locks safe and nourished and not looking like a disaster. Typically, Jongsuk leaves his hair floppy and only uses a hair straightener to give his locks a bit of volume. If he wants to make an impression however, he will use a strong gel to style his hair appropriately. He likes Bumble & Bumble Texture Hair (un)dressing Creme ($41) along with a Drybar Le Sherif Firm Hold Hairspray ($36) to hold his hair in place. Since he already uses a nourishing shampoo, he doesn't really do hair masks or oils, since for right now, he has no need for them.

Peace Out Wrinkles Anti-Wrinkle Microneedling Patches are innovative patches that work like an overnight spot treatment anywhere you want to target wrinkles (such as the forehead, crow's feet or smile lines). Each one contains 450 self-dissolving hyaluronic acid microneedles that create pathways for the active ingredients to penetrate. Think: retinol, vitamin C and an array of peptides. To get results, they need to be worn for at least six hours, twice a week. So genius!

Sobel Skin Rx 4.5% Retinol Night Treatment

Sobel Skin Rx 4.5% Retinol Night Treatment is an anti-aging retinoid serum formulated from gentle, non-toxic ingredients. It was developed by Dr. Howard Sobel, a NYC-based dermatologist whose new active clean skincare line JUST launched at Sephora. Despite the name, it contains not retinol but hydroxypinacolone retinoate (HPR), a next-gen retinoic acid ester that causes little to no irritation. So I believe it should be comparable in strength to The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane, but the texture is a lotion, not an oil.

(Note for Canadians: Any retinoids in concentrations equivalent to more than one percent retinol are restricted by Health Canada... so we can't buy this, unfortunately!)

The Inkey List PHA Toner

The Inkey List PHA Toner is an ultra-mild exfoliating and brightening toner for all skin types, especially sensitive. It's named for its three percent concentration of polyhydroxy acids (PHAs), which are like AHAs but more gentle. Bonus: It also has three percent niacinamide for controlling redness, oil and blemishes.

Tatcha The Serum Stick

Tatcha The Serum Stick is a moisturizer in solid balm form that you can swipe on over or under makeup to hydrate dry skin. It's made up of 80 percent squalane; there's also beeswax, hyaluronic acid and vitamin E. This would be ideal for airplane travel, or to carry in your handbag for moisture on the go!

Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask

Drunk Elephant F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Mask is an overnight moisturizing mask with cooling properties. It's meant to plump skin, calm redness and repair the skin barrier, using ingredients such as squalane, propanediol, niacinamide and olive oil esters. The "F" stands for "vitamin F," a.k.a. linolenic and linoleic acids, which are encapsulated to preserve freshness.

Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum

Biossance Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Night Serum is a gentle exfoliating serum that can be worn underneath your moisturizer every night. It targets dead skin with a 10 percent concentration of lactic acid, while squalane (the brand's signature ingredient) and glycerin deliver weightless hydration.

Sobel Skin Rx 15% Niacinamide Gel Serum

Sobel Skin Rx 15% Niacinamide Gel Serum is a hydrating, brightening, pore-tightening and anti-wrinkle treatment for all skin types. That's the power of niacinamide—and this gel-like serum boasts the highest concentration I've seen, 15 percent. The other ingredients include glycerin, allantoin, chamomile and cucumber extract.

Dr. Barbara Sturm Lifting Serum

Dr. Barbara Sturm Lifting Serum is a firming and tightening serum that promises a smoother, more lifted look within an hour of application, with the results lasting several hours. So it's definitely something you'd use before an important event, but also has long-term benefits thanks to the purslane, hyaluronic acid and algae extracts.

Farmacy Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream

Farmacy Cheer Up Brightening Vitamin C Eye Cream is a hydrating and brightening eye cream that may help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. It targets the latter with four percent vitamin C (the derivatives ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate and glyceryl ascorbate as well as cherry extract). It also contains caffeine and hyaluronic acid.

Herbivore Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial

Herbivore Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial is a jelly-textured mask to exfoliate and brighten dull skin, inspired by the Serum of the same name. Since it's all-natural, the acids are derived from sources such as bilberry, sugarcane and willow bark (which makes them gentler than straight glycolic or salicylic acid). You're meant to use this once or twice per week.

Tarte Knockout Daily Exfoliating Cleanser

Tarte Knockout Daily Exfoliating Cleanser is an exfoliating gel cleanser for normal to oily skin. It's sulfate-free, produces a silky lather, and helps to remove dead skin using lactic, glycolic and salicylic acids. (It obviously won't be as strong an exfoliation as the matching Knockout Tingling Treatment toner, which you leave on.)

Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream

Glow Recipe Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream is a lightweight and silicone-free moisturizer made from clean ingredients and less than one percent synthetic fragrance. Glycerin, coconut alkanes and squalane do most of the hydrating, and it also has banana water, magnesium and Centella Asiatica extract to calm irritation.

Dr. Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum

Dr. Dennis Gross Stress Rescue Super Serum is an anti-aging serum designed to strengthen the skin's microbiome and combat signs of stress such as worry lines, redness and breakouts. The star ingredient is niacinamide (although we don't know the concentration), combined with a superfood complex of mushroom, maca root, cacao and goji berry.

January Labs Triple Active Reclaiming Serum

January Labs Triple Active Reclaiming Serum is a clean anti-aging serum that's mild enough for sensitive skin. Its active ingredients include niacinamide, retinol, sodium ascorbyl phosphate (a vitamin C derivative) and lactic acid, combined with aloe vera and glycerin for moisture. Niacinamide is probably doing most of the work here (since there's two percent); the retinol concentration is only 0.025 percent (from the 0.5 percent RetiStar, the same complex as The Inkey List Retinol).

First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask

First Aid Beauty FAB Pharma Arnica Relief & Rescue Mask is a soothing and moisturizing mask for dry skin that's in need of some TLC. Shea butter, cocoa butter and fatty alcohols give it a creamy, nourishing texture, while arnica, calendula and Centella Asiatica help to calm sensitivity.

Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser

Ole Henriksen Truth Juice Daily Cleanser is a gel-cream cleanser that promises to remove dirt, oil and even waterproof makeup in one step. The sulfate-free formula features mild cleansing agents, PHAs to gently exfoliate, and orange extracts to give it a citrusy scent.

Kypris Puff of Love Nurturing Anytime Moisturizer

Kypris Puff of Love Nurturing Anytime Moisturizer is a non-greasy, plant-based, silicone-free moisturizer. It's crafted from high-quality botanicals such as jasmine flower and shea butter, plus proven hydrators like glycerin, coconut alkanes, squalane and hyaluronic acid. And the packaging is beyond gorgeous!

Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask

Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask initially launched as a limited-edition product, and now it looks like it's here to stay. This is a jelly-textured lip mask loaded with squalane, camellia oil and peach extract to repair and nourish dry, flaky lips. It comes with a tiny gold spatula to make the experience even more luxurious.

Moon Juice Milk Cleanse Gentle Foaming Wash

Moon Juice Milk Cleanse Gentle Foaming Wash is a sulfate-free cleansing milk that produces a creamy lather to clean without stripping. The ingredients include coconut extract, aloe vera, fatty alcohol and mushroom extracts, and the brand recommends using it twice for a double cleanse. The first round will remove dirt and makeup, and the second will clean your skin.

Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Double Crème

Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Double Crème is a rich, intensive moisturizer for dry skin. Besides hydrating with glycerin, propanediol, fatty alcohols and shea butter, it also brightens with three forms of vitamin C (ethyl ascorbic acid, tetrahexydecyl ascorbate and ascorbic acid). Although it's not silicone-free or fragrance-free, both are far down on the ingredients list.

Indie Lee De-Stress Body Wash

Indie Lee De-Stress Body Wash is a clean, sulfate-free body wash with aromatherapeutic benefits. The blend of patchouli, lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus essential oils help you to unwind and release stress after a long day (although you could certainly use this in the mornings, too!).

Ursa Major Sublime Sage Spray Deodorant

Ursa Major Sublime Sage Spray Deodorant is an odour-neutralizing deodorant spray made with clean, non-toxic ingredients. Not only is it free of aluminum and petrochemicals, it also doesn't include baking soda, making it a good option for sensitive skin.
