alright, a bit of honesty hour here:
i had spent the last two months desperately trying to plan some sort of fun halloween event, but truth be told, i just... fell short. between classes, work, life - i for the life of me could not figure out an event that did not stress me out and i felt confident in completing. which, sort of bummer, because halloween and the month of october is sort of my thing. (i'm a ghost, for fuck's sake).
THAT BEING SAID. i have several halloween themed one shots i'd like to write (currently working on a steve one), but i still wanna do something fun with y'all because you're all just the sweetest and i adore you.
how would we all feel about a low-stakes request situation? y'all send in anything halloween or autumn related, if it strikes any inspiration, i write us some fun shorter shenanigans with our favorite blurbos? i am traveling and just doing a lot this month, but i just really wanna do something. it could be anything. trick or treating with eddie, creepy song fics that you'd like to see, cute fall activities like pumpkin patches with steve - anything y'all's hearts desire. there's no guarantee i could get to every request (usually when i do events i get... a lot of requests. very grateful! my brain just can't pump out 50+ 1k word requests in the span of a month haha), but... yeah. idk.
thoughts? concerns? should i finally shut up? lemme know.

i love my family so much. @actuallylukedanes had plans to go with their spouse to the state fair yesterday, and i planned to use my alone time to work on projects. but when i idly mentioned that i wished i could go to the fair too, because smaller local fairs were an essential and literally-every-year part of my life growing up, my best friend said there was no reason i couldn't--and their spouse's reaction to the idea was to be enthusiastically in support.
these two people, my own chosen family, not only gave me a ride so i could enjoy the day, but spent as much of it with me as possible just because we could all have fun together. and they never once made it seem like i was crashing their couple time, and when i chose to try and walk the grounds rather than using a mobility device (like i do during zoo visits that make leander happy) they never once treated me like i couldn't handle it and enforce my own limits or like i was dragging everything down by needing breaks.
so this is just an appreciation post for my people, who were happy to invite me at the last minute for a day of sun and strangers and entertainment and curly fries and testing my limits. it was nice to be reminded that i'm capable of more than my everyday routine, and also to be reminded of the way i used to live, that i miss. spontaneous plans, and trading spoons for experiences without regretting it, and not assuming that i need to stay home while everyone else does things (or assuming that i should avoid being around two people who don't get a lot of time together, cuz i don't want to bother them).
yesterday was a really good day.

say what you want about the concept of panderverse but the things it’s done for this fandom are on truly astronomical levels previously unknown to mankind.

OKAY this list is driving me crazy already, can you tell me about the Jurdan childhood fic?
jurdan my beloved 😭😭😭 imagine how different things would have been if jude had come to Faerie when she was four instead of seven. Imagine her meeting Cardan before Dain tricks him. Before he moves into Hollow Hall with Balekin.
Imagine them as childhood friends to lovers to rulers and cry with me.
and a snippet:
Now, little brother, you must choose a future.”
Cardan stares at Margaret, with her blank eyes and chapped lips, the slump of her shoulders. He’s never seen a glamoured mortal up close before - Jude always wore protection, even in her home, not trusting that Madoc’s guards wouldn’t attempt something. Cardan imagines Jude in Margaret’s place and is left with an uncomfortable feeling, like that of bugs crawling beneath his skin. Jude would never be ensorcelled. She was too strong for that, would have any who dared attempt it killed by Madoc for the offense. She was just as cunning as the Folk, just as witty and sometimes cruel.
She could never be inferior, as Balekin claims mortals to be. It just doesn't make sense.
And Jude, for all that she would never be inferior, would also never hurt him. She’s his friend, his only friend, just as he is her only friend outside of her sisters.
He makes his choice.
“Alright, brother,” Cardan says, and turns his back to Balekin. “I’ll leave then.”
