#It's even inspiring some original ideas I've started cooking up too

Note
I've always had a thought of Pornstar au with Stucky but I never have enough time to write one, mainly bcs the words won't come out and i fucking hate myself sooooooo
I'll just punch my idea here for you bcs so suddenly, I can't stop thinking of Pornstar!Seb HAHAHAHA but I'll stick with my original idea of STUCKY instead of Evanstan although I do love those two idiots AHJSSJJE
Right uhm, anyways, this prompt started off with well, porn, obviously bcs I'm a budding artist who wants to practice nsfw stuff (ehem😌😌) and the first place I went to for pose references were Porn sites
I was hit with sudden inspiration out of nowhere when I got reminded that Steve was a fucking artist SJIDHEIJEUR my mind is then consumed by the idea of one Steve Rogers, scrolling through a porn site looking for pose references when he stumbles into a single account
It's nothing special to be honest but what catches his eye is the full sleeve tattoo on the stars left arm. Curious, Steve checks the account out and discovers Winter_Soldier who's got quite the following. Steve is immediately enthralled at the sight of the man and his silky brown hair, the only thing visible about his face being his bright steel blue eyes. Winter is thicc, chest big enough you could fuck a dick between it and a pair of thighs Steve's sure enough could crush a water melonn NGHHHH don't even get Steve started with his dick, a pretty thing thats anything but little
Bucky might like to bottom but he could fuck if he wants, those sessions where he'd bring another pornstar over for a joint video and he'd practically fuck them to the mattress. Steve salivates at the thought of getting bedded by Bucky, brain just gone at the idea of having Bucky spread on his bed for him to take or of Bucky between his legs, ready to fuck him stupid
He's so adventurous too, his videos containing multiple angles of him fucking his thick ass onto an equally thick dildo, voice slightly muffled from behind the mask but still loud enough that Steve could pick up his mewling ramblings. Winter has a seductive voice that melts to a whine whenever he's got something in him and What's supposed to be Steve looking for pose references and practicing his anatomy's ends up with him furiously jerking off to this gorgeous man
Steve has never seen someone so enticing before, the way Winters body would curve and bend, slick hole making way for the thick dildos he liked to shove in. He fucks and liked to talk, his god given voice rumbly as he spoke to his audiences, taking requests or just simply dirty talking GOOD LORD AJDHWJRHRJJEEJ Steve can't take his eyes off the monitor and his hand off his dick, eyes always coming back to the intricate robot like design of Winters left arm
Somehow, Steve manages to finish his practice but not before he nearly bled himself dry with how much he jerked off. His sketch book suddenly filled with a brown haired masked pornstar. Some hour later, he stumbles out of his room and into the shared kitchen of the dorm he's renting. He nearly trips when he finds his roommate James cooking some dinner
He's been rooming with James for nearly a year now but they're not really close (yet). In Steve's opinion, he's too pretty for his own good and Steve can never talk straight or properly whenever James is the one he's conversing with. James is very sweet though (he told Steve he could call him Bucky bcs that's what his friends call him), voice soft and always drowning in the oversized hoodie he favours. He's not small by any means, with a wider set of shoulder than Steve but he's definitely shorter by a couple of inches.
Steve's always ogling at Bucky whenever he could and he always thinks that his hair is pretty but a detail catches Steve's eyes with how he tied his hair in a messy bun as he cooked. It looked similar with... Steve freezes on the spot, staring at Bucky like an idiot. There's no way right?? It must be just a coincidence!!
Instinctively, Steve's gaze falls onto Bucky's left arm, covered with the long sleeves of his hoodie. Steve has never seen Bucky with his clothing off or just a simple sleeveless outfit and Winter did have a few tattoos, the most prominent one was the full sleeve on his left arm... Steve shakes himself. His roommate can't be the pornstar he's suddenly addicted to, that's just rude to assume
When Bucky calls him to share the dinner, steel blue eyes curved in a somewhat familiar smile, Steve's throat dries and he doesn't know if he hates or loves the possibility of his absurd idea
In the end though, it's not him who makes the official discovery. Instead, it's Bucky who makes the reveal when he finds one of Steve's sketchbook laying around, filled with sketches and practice of a familiar brown haired star in different positions and angles
Steve's all bashful at being caught with his 18+ content and Bucky practically drills his new obsession out of him with a glint in his eyes. When Steve confesses the fact that he's been having fantasies about Winter and woke up every morning with a boner, religiously coming to check Winters account for updates or live sessions, Bucky practically grins like the cat who got the cream, the shy facade giving away to Steve's dirtiest dream
"So you like my voice huh?" Bucky murmurs where he's coiled like a snake on the couch, his eyes going lidded as his voice dropped a few octaves. Steve is frozen at the other end of the couch, surprise and something else shimmering in his guts
"Tell me, Steve.. Do you keep coming back to my account because I provide you with good practice material or is it because I turn you on?" Bucky practically purred, uncoiling and starting to crawl his way to Steve. Considering that their couch isn't that big and neither of them are small, Steve suddenly has his dreams on his lap
"I just needed practice," he weakly says and Bucky's lips curve into a smirk that would follow Steve to his dreams, face finally full with his bright eyes. Ever so slowly, Bucky leans until he's got his lips straight to Steve's ear, squirming on his laps and arms around his neck
"I could give you a live modelling session," he whispers, breath hot against Steve's flushed skin. He shivers and Bucky's next words makes his hand come up to Bucky's waist to squeeze tightly.
"And if you want a live demonstration with yourself included.. well, I can give you that too."
AHAHAHAH I don't know what to do with this prompt but plssss it's been haunting me (HAH), anyways, tis just a tease but they basically fuck (obviously 🙄🙄) and we can have the dynamic of Bucky happily expanding Steves sexual experiences and Steve happily allowing Bucky to expand his sexual experiences SKWJJEJEJE

I feel that, words are hard, but don't downplay what you have because what you have FUCKS!!
Tumblr media
Also, I love that. Sometimes you gotta go to the source for references 👀 I get it. That is SUCH a great idea, though! I fuck with that so hard! Artist!Steve looking for inspiration and stumbling onto pornstar Bucky... 😮‍💨😮‍💨
And pornstar Bucky, who's thick with INK?
Kill me. Oh, wait, you already have!
Jesusss.
He's a switch, too? I'm salivating. The mask?? The whimpering? I'm being murdered! 😫 WOOF he does sound so damn enticing. Fuck.
THE PLOT THICKENS!
Roommates??
Tumblr media
I do not have words. Brain scrambled. Useless. I am fucking obsessed with the idea of Steve going from avid consumer of Bucky's pornography to being a part of it. Living his fantasy. Actually.
Yes!! I would love to see this written because imagine all the shit they could get into! All the kinks they could explore (especially exhibitionism, getting off to being watched). All the toys that I'm sure Bucky has. Expanding on how it comes out, too, would be so good. Draw it out. Build it up. Does Steve catch him shooting porn when he's supposed to be out? Is it not confirmed like that? When does Steve see him without long-sleeves on for the first time? Is it in private? Is it in public, and he has to act normal? Does Bucky make Steve stutter through it and ask himself if he does porn, by chance, or does Bucky easily handle it, grinning and nonchalantly confirming it? Plus, building up to Steve's first time on camera would be killer. His nerves and excitement and then his embarrassment when he gets on camera and he's so revved up that he cums so fast.
God.
You could go so many ways!
Either way, written or not, this AU is going to live rent-free in my head because 🤌🏻yes🤌🏻
Imagine all the "roommate walked in on me" fantasy porn they could shoot 😮‍💨😮‍💨

so, i don't usually crosspost these posts, but this week's update on patreon is available to everyone and I know I have a bit of a larger following on tumblr, and I'd really like everyone on the same page so I'm dropping all I have to say here too.
good evening friends!! i hope you're all doing well! welcome to the first update of 2024. momentous for me personally, because this is the year we finish larkin. i am making this post available to all patrons, (paid or not) because I'd really like to start 2024 on the right foot with everyone aware of the road ahead. i am so determined to get it done you have no idea. this is my year. 2024, i christen thee: the year of the vampire cowboy.
okay, so big things ahead, lets talk about the update, explore some of the features we have in the game, plans for this weekends release, the schedule and a couple other things.
so, if you've played at all with the new version of the game, you'll take notice that it's a little bit different than my first image of the game. at first larkin was just a straight interactive fiction following the likes of cog like games, with choices and avenues and split stats and the like. but now, as of 2024 (crazy) we're seeing a game that is more reminiscent of a ttrpg, like dnd or cyberpunk, with stats, classes and dice rolls. admittedly, the very first encounter of the game is well (it's a little rigged) the game, of course, could not really get started if the preacher gets cooked before they've even made it to nevada, so, the odds are a little bit stacked in the players favor this round, but at least, it gives you a little bit of a taste of whats to come. to dive into the specifics of what's important with this first encounter (or just, how to avoid getting your ass really kicked) these first few rolls give bonuses to players with high dexterity and athleticism—-but that's not to say you need to make your character beefed up in these departments. each stat will get their time to shine later down the line.
but let's talk about what i'm really excited to discuss: classes. so with the new version of larkin, i've introduced a system of classes that operate somewhat like your standard dungeons and dragons class, but with a little bit more of that classic background from the original ttrpg mixed in—coloring the way your character sees the world of the game, sort of how a race might effect a dnd character--(a dwarf player is going to have a much different worldview than say, an elf.) for this i was heavily inspired by games like dragon age origins and baldur's gate, and while I do have those original background ready to be dropped a little bit later on the game in relation to your character's perspectives on the abrams family, I really like how these have come to form.
in total there are seven new classes: con-man, outlaw, healer, thief, gambler, showman and slayer. each of these classes warps the perspective of the player character, giving them new motivations, dialogue options, and affects their relationships with the other characters in the game and the world around them. to illustrate this, I'm thinking of making a little bit more of an in depth explanation screen to be added to saturday's update to really get that point across, but I'm still toying with how I want to phrase the specifics of it. what i might do is something similar to baldur's gate with little pop-up tutorials that can be turned off/on depending on how you'd like to play.
to give an example of some of the more in depth motivations/choices each class offers lets talk about the thief and the outlaw classes. the thief class i am especially excited for, because like the con-man class and similar to a few others, it really allows your character to be very money/materialistically motivated. it opens up routes later in the game, like romancing one of the sokolovs—with motivations reminiscent of gold-digging (hehehe very excited for that—i think it will be very fun to write—because you have this idea of a cold hearted player who is entering into a relationship with them strictly for business, versus a cold hearted player who is in it for the cash but also. might be falling in love with one of the sokolovs? ((a lot of fun dynamics afoot here.)) the outlaw class is also one i'm excited to work with because it really puts something of a strain on the preacher and wyatt's relationship—-mostly because you see a strong division in terms of their ethics—the preacher in that case is very 'do what you gotta do to survive,' whereas wyatt believes (key word—believes) he's living by some sort of moral code—that he's failed to instill in the person he views as his child. so like there are layers here boys. layers of resentment, failure—to connect, to teach, to bond. a final tidbit about the slayer class before I move on: if you would really like to play into the enemies to lovers trope with one of the vampires, I would highly recommend giving your player this class ((that's all I'll say))
so: saturday, that takes us to the bar, where each class will get a unique scene, similar to how the scheming tactic section worked in the original game. we're gonna finish up the encounter with the first vampires, meet our guild pursuers and move to the bar. I'm planning also to implement the character customization here—(sort of a way to prep before the player heads out to the bar.) most likely won't get to all classes by saturday's code, but after that, I'm planning to release again on next wednesday, so we're keeping on track. I'd really like to give a full picture of customization for the player character, with all the original options for physical appearance (i might keep clothes vague for now though and let you dress your character later on, until you get a taste of the inventory/bartering system-—you have to deal with MY poor fashion choices for a little bit.) but that being said, about character customization, if there's something that's lacking here and you'd like to suggest an addition I'd be all ears. This is what I'm planning to implement so far:
skin tone
body type*
hair color
hair texture
hair length
hair style**
height
skin details (acne, scars, vitiligo, rosacea)
facial hair
make-up
piercings
eyewear (glasses, no glasses, eyepatch, prosthetic eye)
gender-affirming customization (for ex. use of binding)
* a note on the body type section, I kind of had this idea of digitally drawing some silhouettes of different heights, shapes and sizes, and allowing the player to click through arrows to select a rough estimation of what their body-type might look like. I'm going to do an art dump later this month, and I have a few sketches of what I'd kinda like to do with that, but I'm still toying with it, because even that could be a little limiting in terms of options. if any of you had thoughts on that, I'd love to hear them.
**I think it might also be cool to kind of have drawings of different hairstyles available to the characters, arranged in the card formats like the previous gender options in that same red colored sketch format.
speaking of art though--and this is purely tangential so I apologize, I'm sure you've taken notice of some of the art being repetitive--for the moment that's purposeful. I'm planning to commission some work for the cards to be implemented in a later update--so what you're seeing are just placeholders for now.
okay! with saturday's notes out of the way, plans for the rest of the week. I need to finish the timeline and then I need to make it readable to people other than myself. it is currently incomprehensible and of the few people that have gotten their eyes on it only one (1) could make sense of my mad ramblings. (shout out to friend of the game bianca from exiled from court if any of you are familiar with her or her stuff, we are  big bianca fans here.) After that I need to do some edits with the new update and such, and poke at the code.
Tonight after I post this, I'm specifically working on sending a few more emails to betas (know that sending emails is. my personal hell because of intense social anxiety. BUT we must persevere. emails will be sent tonight.) after that, I have to work on the phillip/kc/sam schedule + calendar for this month, just to keep the three of us on the same page. I'm in the process of looking at some stamps.com printers for sending out packages with this next round of physical rewards and ordering the merch (hehehe)
okay. super long update for our first one of the year, but I am so excited to get to keep working with you guys :) i'd like to thank you all for your continued support and I can't wait to show you more of the little universe i've crafted :)
until friday! i'm gonna be posting some cyrus asks/scenarios for you all to enjoy, so look forward to that! <3

Good morning Sflow :)
For the ask game I'd love to hear your thoughts about these two, if you feel like answering (no pressure though!):
🍭why did you start writing?
🌿how does creating make you feel?
Thank you. Wishing you a lovely day! <3
Good evening, friend 💛
I saved your ask for last because these are both really deep questions, and I've actually spent a lot of time reflecting on them today, especially the first one. So, exactly the kind I'd expect from you, and they deserve the kind of rambling personal answers you know to expect from me.
I'll put a cut here to make it easier for people to scroll on if they aren't interested, but of course anyone who is interested is welcome to read my answers!
🍭why did you start writing?
I guess the short answer is, as a creative outlet. But there is also a very long answer, as I've started writing several times over the course of my life.
On the first time, I started for my little brother. We played a lot of imagination games when we were kids, and I wanted to expand on those. We had an imaginary world with about two dozen characters but could only play a few of them at the same time, the stories were 'lost' when the game ended, and I had too many ideas anyway. So I started drawing and writing some of them down. This first phase went on from age 9 to 14 or so.
On the second time (overlapping the first), I started for narrative closure. A video game that I was completely obsessed with had a sad ending, so I wrote another. It was fun, so I went on to another story I wanted to continue, characters I wanted to expand on, and so on. I wrote most of these in my English notebook, for which I also got extra credit and feedback from my English teacher.
After a couple of years of just writing in my notebook, I discovered that I was doing a thing called fan fiction, and there were places to put it online. So I started doing that. Eventually, I got an original idea, and I wrote a story of about 50k and even started a sequel. This second phase lasted from age 13 to 19/20.
Then I started at uni. Life got in the way, and my creativity was gone. I never finished the sequel, and even when I eventually got obsessed with a new piece of media and tried to write something for it, I just couldn't get anything coherent down. I eventually took down all my old fics too, thinking that chapter of my life was closed for good. This phase lasted until I watched Young Royals at the age of 33.
On the third time, I started as an outlet for my suddenly reborn creativity - and my still very fragile ace identity. I found the rich world of YR incredibly inspiring and wanted to continue the story (as we didn't even know if there would be an S2). I also really wanted to contribute something to the fandom that was growing around it, but I didn't have the confidence or the ideas to focus on Wilmon.
Well, as luck would have it, there was a veritable blank slate of a minor character who would be perfect for a canon expansion and even gave me a vague ace vibe for some reason. And if I made him asexual, well, figuring out how he felt about various stuff would be a good excuse to work on myself on the side. I wasn't sure if I actually had the guts to make that part of his characterisation visible in the fic, and he'd have to be very different from me as I never liked self-inserts, but yeah. That could be interesting.
I'm still in this third phase, although the self-reflection has taken a backseat now.
🌿how does creating make you feel?
It's hard to describe. One part of it is just plain relief, because it gets to a point where you really just need an outlet for all the creative energy. One part is this huge sense of accomplishment and satisfaction over seeing the thing you imagined and planned come together. It was just something you cooked up in your head, and now it's out there, making sense. Or at least being its own aesthetic/artistic entity. Either way, you did it, wow.
And of course one part is the joy of knowing that people enjoyed something you made and/or it touched them. I had sort of forgotten about that while I wasn't writing, and I'm very grateful to have experienced it again.
Thank you again for these wonderful asks!
Ask list for reference.

Writing Update
Yes, an actual update! I think I promised more regular ones a couple weeks ago for both the fanfics and my original projects and...they never happened.
Story of my life.
Tumblr media
So, this month has been kind of a dumpster fire. The irl job is hectic and overwhelming thanks to both the time of year and integrating into a new system that does not really support what I have to do for my job, so that's been nothing but anxiety and stress. Which leads to me existing in a juxtaposed state of constantly mentally exhausted and also ready to bite people at the drop of a hat.
Camp NaNo for my Monster Book project didn't get off the ground much, in terms of word count. The goal was 30k and I didn't start getting close to that until after mid-month. I did end up with 23,480 words, most of it stuff that doesn't work.
On the bright side, I did have a couple of good weekends where I learned from what wasn't working and re-crafted the whole format of the story, as well as brainstormed around the issues it was giving me, and I did end up with a much better story structure and plan of where the story wants to go.
So, even though I failed to achieve the goal I set out for, I think the story ended up better for it. I'm more excited about the story in general now and it's occupying more brain space in that it keeps drifting to the forefront of my mind while I'm doing other things, rather than being a guilty afterthought.
The fanfics, on the other hand, have mostly kind of stalled.
I've been reworking my ideas for the epilogue story for Home Across the Universe. Still poking at the structure to see if the current plan for it will work out, but I did write a scene I'm pretty happy with regarding Stiles and what he does while Derek is away at college. It's super cute with just a little angst and a lot of sweetness, and brought on by watching way too many cooking videos on Youtube.
I rewrote and added some new stuff to the third installment of Rabbit Come Home, and figured out what the separate conflicts and the climax are supposed to be. It's gonna be fun to write when I can get back in the right headspace to tackle it.
Nothing new on the Into the Black front. I think I nudged it a bit at the beginning of the month but nothing major. That one will gain more traction when I get the other two out of the way and make a lot more progress on my Monster Book. Or if I binge Firefly/Serenity and get slapped with inspiration, since that's what happened last time.
In the meantime, I've been thinking about cleaning up the Home Across the Universe playlist I have over on Spotify and sharing it. It's all the music I wrote the series to. Would anyone be interested in seeing that? It's about, uh, 13 hours long. :D I started building it from the day I started writing Teenage Vigilante Witch, so it was my background music for the duration of the series.

so, talking to you the other day about how the original had zero cultural context for what was happening to them got me thinking, so i've looked at the etymology of the word 'vampire'.
now, the exact origin is unknown, but it can be tracked to early 18th century serbia ('vampir') ... of course, chances are it was used WELL before anyone thought to write it down, but that still leaves us with well over HALF A MILLENIUM between between 'vampir' and the creation of vampires in the tvdu. which begs the question: where did it come from?
so, at first i thought that it might be fun if humans are the ones who started using it, and the vamps and other supernaturals just went with it, but then i remembered that elijah uses it to describe them in the 12th century ... so that won't do.
and i came up with a new headcanon that i wanted to run by you. generally, the idea of the originals coming to terms with their new state in those first few years? decades? makes me FERAL, so i thought: how about rebekah came up with it, in an effort to give name to the whole thing, to make it less scary and foreign, to separate it from 'demon' and other similar terms, etc., and the others just went with it?
*jazz hands*
thoughts?
Oooooh this is interesting. More so if you think about the Silas plot line in TVD, a vampire older than the Originals that's been around 2000 years opposed to just 1000.
And as for Rebekah making it up... that's also a solid head canon since the Originals always seemed to have trouble accepting what they were (especially in TO but sssshhhh that show didn't happen lmao) and it would make sense they'd create a word to separate themselves from monster or demon.
BUT
Okay so I'm no history or language buff, but there has to be so many variations of both the word 'vampir' and its meaning right? Like I'm guessing every culture has differing ideas of what a vampire was, their strengths, their weaknesses. And like, yeah, what if Rebekah made up the word in all seriousness... but she has brothers. And we all know brothers are morons and chaotic little shits, no matter if they're age-old original vampires.
So. What if it gradually became a game. A game to see who could think up the most stupid story of what a vampire was and scare the locals with. Kol started it, then Klaus joined in, and on occasion, even Elijah would play. Of course, some of the stories came from real events that led to misunderstandings, but if Klaus and Elijah could troll the entire Vampire and Werewolf communities by making up the Sun and Moon curse you bet your ass they'd troll the humans in the same way. Make it extra funny when a hunter came to kill them with a holy cross and and some holy water. Or maybe that one time where they managed to rebuke the logic that wooden stakes kill vampires when Kol got staked and then got back up, the stake still in his chest and also still half drunk, and proceeded to drunkenly holler about the devil giving him true immortality or some shit while Klaus cackles in the background.
(The Bat thing came from Kol actually having a fear of bats, detesting the flighty creatures and their weird leather-like wings, and Klaus and Elijah naturally taking initiative to remind him of it every day for the rest of eternity by engraining it in vampire myth)
The person who inspires the stupidest story or myth of the century, wins. And the winner gets their choice of prize. Vlad joined in once too, upping the stakes in the game (ha, stakes) by telling a writer that garlic weakened them. Klaus praised it as genius, and when a particularly vicious hunter group found them half a decade later, pretending to be guests in their home, Klaus invited them to a meal and asked the cooks for every garlic-laced dish he could think of. The horror etched onto the hunters faces as Kol dug into some garlic bread is still to this day, what Kol recalls as perhaps the funniest moment in his life.
Vlad is still pretty smug about it. More so when he was crowned the winner when the century ended, and chose Klaus' favourite vineyard as his prize
(Klaus was not amused)

Introduction
Hello there, after much thought I decided to give this a shot again. Been a while since I've used this platform and I accidentally deleted my old accounts which is fine as I barely used them anyway. You can call me Highbeam or HB! Friends who know me from Renaissance Festivals usually call me Duchess, and those in the vintage 1940s/50s pinup circuit know me as Lucy. Quick facts and info about me! I became a Twitch streamer in April 2021 and have loved it. Started off with the idea of focusing mostly on Transformers collecting and product reviewing, maybe eventually moving into cooking streams. However I got caught up in gaming in a way I hadn't since I was a young teen back in the day. It started with the Transformers War For Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games, then I started introducing things like Sea of Thieves and various silly Indie games. Then came my one-year Twitch anniversary in April 2022 when I decided to pull up a bit of nostalgia which I wanted to play back when it came out, but I didn't have the right gear to play it, DOOM 2016. I'm now thoroughly addicted to the game and the lore around it. We'll discuss that in more detail in future posts! I have been active at Renaissance Festivals since first attending one in 1999, but really getting into it when I made my first full outfit in 2003. My happy place is playing a lady of nobility, whether it be my original character Duchess Lucrezia of Spain, or playing as historical characters but with my own unique twists. I also enjoy dressing up as a pirate lass because who doesn't like being a pirate? I have dabbled in a bit of Cosplay at local comic cons, though I've enjoyed creating my own unique 'inspired by' cosplays more than literal portrayals of existing characters. I collect Transformers action figures like crazy. My collection goes back to the early 2000s, but would've gone back to the original G1 if my childhood toys hadn't been lost in a basement flood. I have created 3 original Transformers characters, one being my namesake Highbeam who has a deep story that I hope to one day turn into a spotlight style comic. I also enjoy collecting diecast model cars, select Funko Pops related to my fandoms, I enjoy cooking a lot, and I love to draw. All the graphics I use in my Twitch stream including my emotes were created by me. As briefly mentioned above, I do some 1940s and '50s style vintage pinup too. Nothing risque, all family and event friendly. I particularly enjoy a bit of Hollywood Glam mixed with Cheesecake pinup, something I can elaborate in a future post as well. I've competed in several pinup contests and even got first place in two contests! I have been published in a couple pinup magazines as well. I love dressing in a pinup look to attend car shows and air shows, and have volunteered at various events with and for WWII veterans and original Rosie the Riveters. I'm even in a commercial for Carhartt celebrating hard working women! I think that gives a nice rounded idea of who I am for now and I can go into more depth in future posts. I want to use this page to share my thoughts on things that I stream, discuss DOOM game lore, talk about fun events I attend, and review new additions to my collections! Catch you later!

Oh no. It's happening again.
Tumblr media
It was...sometime last June, I think? When I came up with a god-awful story in like two days that I actually managed to type up (mostly) in about two weeks?
Well, just a few days ago another new idea for a comic took hold, and the story just spread across my brain like wildfire. It was kind of like cooking drunk - put some of this in, a pinch of that, don't measure anything - and I'll be damned if it didn't come together nicely. Not perfectly, but pretty damn good.
Unlike the last one, which is still so bad no one should ever read it without a sick bucket handy, this story I actually wouldn't mind sharing if I ever drew it all up and put it together. Except...I'm really scared to. For a number of reasons.
First of all, it's not completely original - it was inspired by someone else's work, who's a complete stranger to me, and...I kinda don't know how they'd take it. Like...I think it's not too bad, but if it turns out I'm wrong and it actually sucks, I don't want them to die of second-hand embarrassment.
Second, it's very self-indulgent. Many of the things that happen in it, happen mostly because they're exciting and/or make me giddy. And it's been so long since I've shared anything that I did purely for me, that I think I've forgotten how. I don't mean technically, I know how to upload images here. I mean I've forgotten how to just show off something I made and be a little bit proud of it. Instead I just feel weird and self-conscious.
Then there's other little fears, like running out of steam midway through and not finishing it like practically everything else I start on, or that no one at all's going to like it. Oddly I'm not worried about this thing getting scraped. Go figure.
So I'm nervous, but I've also got that same itch from before - the one where I can't *not* work on it in some capacity. I've already started sketching a little during my lunch break at work. The thought of working on this and putting the story together in my head is actually lifting my mood and getting me through the day, but also making it harder to sleep. I don't know how long the feeling will last; I have serious doubts I can sustain the motivation long enough to finish.
I can even hear my inner artist trying to bargain with me, because she wants so badly to work on this. "Okay, just sketch out a rough layout over several pages. Don't even show it off or tell [that person] if you don't want to. Don't label the characters or draw them in detail if it embarrasses you that much*. Just please can we clear off a space and carve out some time this weekend to give it a try??"
(*I have a weird hang up where if I really, really, really like a character from something, I'm terrified of drawing them. I don't know why.)
So...I guess we'll see if This Thing materializes at all, in any form. I kind of want it to and kind of don't. The world won't end either way, but...hell, I don't know.

Guess who is back from the grave and back on their bullshit??
Me
And I'm back with some announcements for the 3-4 people who like my stuff, y'all the real ones.
Anyways, announcements.
I'm working on a bunch of little writing prompts and I hope to actually be more active online, I want to make a community full of chill peeps who have similar interests as me and I want to actually make progress on my damn arg so I can finally show the people my work.
My ARG, Mindless Satire, is gonna be delayed for a while because of many factors but the main thing is I'm basically doing this solo and editing is still new af to me. it is in the works tho and I plan on making more art based around it. Hopefully you all will love it as much as I do, it's been in the works for years up until this point and it's gone through so many variations it's insane. I'm finally satisfied with the final idea of it so now it's just a matter of working and filming it.
Another thing is that I want to start writing more in general, I've been slacking in that department since school has been my main priority but summer is getting closer and now that I'm getting breaks I have more time to do things I love. I'll start posting prompts and stuff throughout the day to keep this little blog active and busy
Not to mention I have two main projects I have on the stove and a few on the back burner.
Currently cooking;
(1. ) The DSMP ; Rewritten - I don't think I've talked about this on here but I have always wanted to write my own iteration on the DSMP, I put it kinda on the back burner after school started coming down harder on deadlines and I was actually planning on scraping it all together. It wasn't until techno passed that I finalized the decision to work on it at a later date, up until this point I have been writing headcanons, notes, and potential character arcs for this series to fully flesh out aspects I feel should have been (like characters and their arcs, Eret was by far my favorite to write for omg the POTENTIAL)
On the topic of the DSMP, imma say this here and I'll write it out on the sites I'll upload the official pages, yes. I will be writing the c! Versions of the dream team. HOWEVER, I don't support them at all and their actions. I am not the biggest fan of them but because it's a rewrite of the DSMP it's important that there in it, by their design of course. But then again, I'm running and writing the show this time around so imma flesh their characters out how I'll see fit. You all are just gonna have to wait and see. Hopefully you guys will like my takes
(2. ) Limbo's Advocate - this one is brand new and was initially gonna just be a practice for me to get back into writing. But then the idea spiraled and while it's still gonna be an experiment to test my skill, it's became such a good idea that I just wanted to flesh it out as well.
Basically, the series is inspired by genloss (even tho it's not out yet but shhh-)
The premise is as follows;
Similar to the Magnus archives, The Association of Supernatural Security and Etherial Testing (also known as ASSET) has given a better position in the company to the intern, codename; RANBOO.
After the disappearence of the original catalyst, the job was given to Ranboo. As the new catalyst, it's Ranboo's job to document and properly organize evidence and witness testimonies and do all sorts of stuff for the company and it's many other branches of workers.
Things begin to get weird tho because all horror related things need to get weird to work and Ranboo begins to document entities in a journal because of his bad memory, this leads to a lot of realizations as he puts together a tragic and disturbing reality.
Yeah I know pretty vague but bare with me here I'm trying to be mysterious and rope you guys in. I already have a long list of characters which includes Crumb, Aimsely, Billzo, Sneegsnag, Shane and Ryan, and a shit ton of other creators. I already have a bunch of the case ideas noted down too so now I just have to find time to start writing.
And that's just about the current concepts that on the stove right now, a bunch of back burner projects will probably be announced at a later date? Most of them are original works I came up with when I was in 7th grade lol. I'll probably edit and switch around some things before shilling it out.
Fun fact, Mindless Satire was a concept I came up with as a prompt during 7th grade and only until the pandemic did I actually start taking it seriously.
If you read this far, I really appreciate it. Its been a dream of mine to work in some sort of entertainment based field (I always wanted to be a content creator of sorts but I'm kinda broke)
You just being here and reading this genuinely means a lot. Your a real one.
Anyways I gotta start writing, I'll post more soon!

Hey guys, here's my next work: An original story called Overqualified! Sorry I haven't posted in so long, I'm going through burnout right now (it's not fun). Still, I hope that at least this piece's length can make up for my absence, and I hope to be consistently writing again soon. Thanks for sticking around, and I hope you enjoy!

Hey guys! Here's a sequel to Leaving the Den! I thought it'd be interesting to see what Luz's crew could get into before Season 3. Sorry for having this one be a little late, this piece took a while and I'm likely still working through some burnout (especially with things like a soon approaching new job and moving).
Chapter 4 was inspired by @moringmark and their great work with Owl House on here. It’s inspired by their idea that post Season 2, the Boiling Isles essentially become a Mad Max-style wasteland, with survivors driving around in big rigs to find other people and avoid the Collector. Thank you Mark for the inspiration if you ever see this!
Lastly, I just wanted to say that burnout/motivation to actually START writing is still a struggle, but hopefully, I'll get past it eventually. With that in mind, I don't want to give a SPECIFIC date for my next story, but rest assured that I'm not leaving writing anytime soon. It may just be a while before I post another story, with the next one likely being for a fandom I've never written for before. I hope you look forward to that. Tell me what you thought of this story in the comments, and have a good day!

2 Scribble story posts at once???
Tumblr media
In all seriousness, Here's another piece to my Owl House/Shadows collection! I wrote this in about a day after being super inspired by King's Tide and just had to get it out. Tell me what you think, and I hope you enjoy the angst!
One last thing: Since I’m posting these two stories so close together, I’m rewarding myself with an additional month to my self-imposed deadline. So instead of 2 months and a week bringing the next story to August 13th, the next one will be out before September 13th. Hope you look forward to what’s next!

Hey guys! Here's my latest work: A continuation of my Owls and Wolves Owl House/Shadows crossover named Friends and Heroes! There'll be more canon divergence in this fic than usual because I've had this story cooking for months; before we even heard anything about Season 2B. Burnout isn't fun.
Nevertheless, please leave a comment on what you think, and I hope you enjoy!

My #1 post of 2022
Owl Gushing
Can I just say? I love the Owl House with all my heart.
“And the sky is blue, Scribble, so what?”
So that means I get to gush about a natural beauty as much as I damn well please, and I’m gonna do so now.
Tumblr media
When I first picked up the show, I didn’t expect too much from it. Having never been truly attached to Disney properties before then. Yeah, I liked shows like Phineas and Ferb, and Gravity Falls or the movies were always around in my media feed, but I never paid much hardcore attention to them, so I thought Owl House would just be a nice time killer while I was living with my sister during the worst of Covid. “Oh look, another story of a normal person being brought to a supernatural world. I’m gonna remember and love this beyond the next hour.”
Um, yeah, I will. Forever.
The Owl House, in my eyes, is not only the best thing on Disney’s library (more on that later), but it’s one of the best stories EVER. Even freaking Avatar: The Last Airbender, one of my first true cartoon loves, sweats when I mention Owl House. Avatar is certainly great, but I always willingly skip the Ember Island Players episode because it’s just embarrassing/cringy, and it hardly contributes to the show at large. None of Owl House’s episodes have done that, and I strongly doubt they will.
And just what makes this story so different from the others?

We’re still here!
Tumblr media
Hi all! I (Mod Migosp)  just wanted to drop a post here explaining a little about what’s going on for this comic.
We have not stopped working on this project; it’s just that the past several months have been crazy between me and Mod NEO. Getting sick with COVID-19, moving, and intense work schedules are some of the things that have affected the pace of our work.
However, I am indeed working on the next scene for Entity NEO! It is mostly finished; it just needs a little more content and some refining. Then I will send it over to Mod NEO and they can begin working their visual magic.
We’ve really appreciated the kind engagement from you while we’ve been gone! Thank you for the nice replies and asks! We intend to answer all the asks soon; we are grateful for your patience.
As always, thank you for joining us as we continue to tell this story that we care so much about.
We’ll talk to you all again soon!

NEVER NOT MASTERPOST | LEI'S LIBRARY
"I don't have to be so afraid of goodbye, because goodbye doesn't have to be forever." - Jenny Han, To All the Boys I've Loved Before
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
FOR THE PAST WEEKS BEFORE TOM WAS LEAVING FOR CALIFORNIA, he and Y/N spent it together as what they have promised to each other.  They would also invite Harrison and Erika with them from time to time.
Tom also spent it with his family since he would be away from them too, not just from Y/N.
Tom and Y/N could not stop exchanging with each other a bunch of 'i love you' and holding on to each other. They would have lunch together while in school and dinner at Y/N's home since her dad would cook for them.
There was a day wherein Aiden and Tom spoke to each other and apologized because of the fight they had before. It was also the time that Tom told Aiden that he was leaving for his acting career.
Few days before he was leaving, he had his last day in school. He already talked with his teachers and the principal regarding his acting career and cannot go to school anymore.
At the same time, he also spent it with some of his friends together with Harrison. Y/N gave him time to spend it with them.
And an unexpected moment happened during that day.
"Hey, Tom and Y/N." A very familiar voice called out for them and the couple looked back at that person.
"Camille?" Tom asked and she just gave them a small smile.
"Mind if we talk for a bit?" She asked and both Y/N and Tom looked at each other in confusion.
They arrived outside the school building to talk since Camille asked. They sat down in the bleachers where the view was the lacrosse team playing. Tom will surely miss playing lacrosse with his teammates.
"Look." Camille started and looked at the couple. "I just want to say that I'm sorry for everything. Most especially to you, Y/N." Camille's eyes focused on Y/N who just looked at her back.
"I'm so stupid enough to call you my enemy just because of some boy that I liked." She pointed at Tom. "All these years, we could've stayed best friends until now you know? But because of my jealousy, I ruined it." Camille continued and already felt tears forming in her eyes. Y/N felt her chest tighten and went near Camille. "I'm sorry, Y/N. I mean it now."
Y/N gave an arm around Camille's shoulder and pulled her closer for a hug. Camille was now crying more when Y/N pulled her for a hug. Y/N felt that everything was better now that Camille apologized for her mistakes. "I forgive you now, Camille." She whispered, loud enough for Camille to hear. Y/N looked at Tom who was smiling at what was happening.
"Really?" Camille asked as she pulled away to look at Y/N. Y/N just gave her a reassuring smile as an answer. Camille hugged her once again by surprise which made Y/N giggle and hugged back.
"Thank you, Y/N. I swear, I'll be better for you this time." Camille said while hugging Y/N.
"I take your word on that, Millie," Y/N said and Camille's eyes widen as soon as she heard that nickname that Y/N just called her.
"You called me Millie again," Camille said and smiled. Millie was the nickname that Y/N made for Camille. She would always call her by that name since they were best friends.
"Millie?" Tom asked Y/N.
"It was the nickname I used to call her," Y/N answered and Tom nodded in agreement.
"So Tom," Camille called him. "I heard that you got that role for the new Spider-man."
Tom scratched the back of his neck before answering. "Well yeah, I did. I'm glad I was the one who got it." He answered.
"Does this mean that you'll be leaving?" She asked.
"Yeah. I'm leaving next Monday already." Tom answered.
"Would you be okay with that, Y/N?" Camille asked Y/N who just smiled and looked at Tom.
"It's his dream after all. I support him for that." Y/N answered.
Camille looked at Tom and Y/N and just smiled. "You really are a perfect match, you know?"
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
[ last week of january 2016 . . . ]
Y/N, together with Tom's whole family, Harrison, and Erika, came to the airport to see Tom leave for California.
"Facetime us from time to time, dear." His mother said while giving him a kiss on the cheek. "I will mom, don't worry," Tom said while hugging her.
"Here is a book of mine to keep you up when you feel stressed out." His father said and gave him a book that he wrote. Tom got it and hugged his father.
"Man, I'll miss golfing with you." Harry, his brother, said when he gave his older brother a hug. "And beating you In golf too." He added which made Tom punch his chest lightly.
"You sure you're not coming with me to pursue your photography career?" Tom asked him and Harry shook his head.
"I have to finish school first," Harry said. "I'm still sixteen, bro." He added.
Tom also gave a hug to Harry's twin brother, Sam, and also had a quick chat with him. Seeing this made Y/N feel so happy that she got a boyfriend who was so loving towards his family.
"He'll be a great actor, you know." Y/N heard Harrison's voice talking to her. "I would show you his performance in Billy Elliot soon." He added.
"You should," Y/N answered Harrison who gave her a smile before Tom approached them.
"Man, I'll miss you," Harrison said. "I'll catch up with you there soon though." They gave each other a hug and patted each other's back.
"I know, mate," Tom answered back to Harrison. "Take care of Y/N for me, okay?" He told his best mate and Harrison nodded. Tom also turned to Erika who was there and gave her a hug too.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of her too," Erika said and pulled Tom closer for her to whisper in his ear, "Don't let the ladies swoon over for you when you get there. Got that?" Erika said and pulled Tom back. "Don't worry, I got my eyes only for Y/N." He said to Erika and she just smiled and gave him a high five.
Lastly, Tom turned his attention to Y/N. Save the best for last, he said to himself.
His family and their friends walked back a little to give them some time alone. As soon as Tom had his eyes on her, she couldn't help but cry a little but she also gave a smile. Tom walked closer to her and wrapped his arms around her.
"Fuck." Tom cursed under his breath. "It's hard to leave because of you, you know? Should I just cancel?" He joked that made Y/N punch him lightly. "I'm kidding, love."
Y/N raised her head up to look at him properly. Tom cupped her cheeks with his hands and leaned his forehead to hers. "Wait for me, okay?" He whispered. He pressed his lips to hers for a while and eventually pulled away.
"I will, Tom. Even if you take years, I'll wait for you." Y/N answered and sobbed. She looked away for a while.
"Look at me, love," Tom said and that made Y/N look up to him again. "I will never not think about you." He said and kissed her forehead that made her smile and held on to his arm.
"And I'll never stop loving you, Tom," Y/N said. "I'll miss you so much,"
"I'll miss you the most," Tom said. He hugged her once again with his head on top of hers for a while before pulling away and gathered all his luggage.  He waved to his family and friend before walking away.
All Y/N could do was watch him leave until she noticed that her hair was tied with the scrunchie that her mother gave to her. Her eyes suddenly widen and had an idea on her mind.
"Tom! Wait!" She called after him and ran towards him before he could go through the gates.
As soon as Tom heard her voice, he stopped walking and looked back to see Y/N running towards him. She suddenly jumped onto him and he caught her and spun her around.
He put her down before saying anything to her, "What's wrong?" He asked her, concerned.
Y/N then untied her hair and handed him the scrunchie. "I just wanted to give this to you. Something that you can keep while you're away. Something that will make you think of me." She said.
"But, isn't this the only thing that you could remember your mom?" He asked her.
"She will always be in my memory, Tom." She answered with a smile and Tom smiled back at her. He held out his hand and Y/N placed the scrunchie around his wrist. They hugged once again and pulled away then Y/N pressed her lips to him. After a few seconds, she finally pulled away and leaned her forehead to his.
"I love you, Y/N Y/L/N," Tom whispered.
"I love you, Thomas, always."

how do churn out fics so quickly? i feel like every month there's a new 35k word chapter out, meanwhile i've written 3 words on an empty doc 🤣 do you spend like 5 hours per day writing or are you just super fast?
Tumblr media
OKAY REAL ANSWER
basically, writing is very baked into my everyday schedule at this point lol. it was admittedly way easier before all this quarantine business started - my work gives me an hour long lunch and it takes me like 5 minutes to eat it and with virtually nothing else to do i just started bringing my laptop to work and banging out words there. now that my work hours have been drastically reduced, it’s harder for me to stay on task - i can bang out 3k words one day and only edit a stray sentence on another with no consistency whatsoever.
i’m BIG on routine, so working writing into my daily routine more or less “tricks” me into being hyper-productive on it. there are certain periods in the day when im more productive, like the aforementioned long-ass lunch hour, but also like, when im making dinner or something. ive got to sit near the stove for like 30 minutes while im cooking some shit up to eat so thats thirty minutes to do some plot outlining or dialogue threading or editing or plain old writing. its not a whole lot of time but like when im working in my lunch hour, it works for me because its this window where i can trick myself into a burst of productivity in a condensed time frame without browbeating myself for not fulfilling a nonexistent standard. the amount of stuff i get done in those timeframes will honestly vary - sometimes its a paragraph and sometimes its a page.
it also helps me personally to keep all my writing in textedit instead of a document that has an accessible wordcount or page count, so that way im not stressing about the length of the thing. this is also how i end up with like. 70k words crammed in one chapter and my pacing is SHIT because of it so thats not a sure thing by any means.
some people do daily wordcounts, which is a trick i do to keep myself working on my original fiction (i make myself write 200 words of original fiction per day, minimum. 200 shitty words isnt very much, and even if its not great, its some progress that i can go back to later.) but i dont apply the same tactic to fic, in part because i dont want my daily wordcount to feel overwhelming. 200 words is a simple, accessible goal for me even on days when im feeling like shit, and if i fall behind a day or two, its not an insurmountable barrier to overcome. its a good trick to kinda spur your brain into productivity. the downside to this is that youre basically playing a long con with yourself and theres a big chance that youll burn out on the project if youre stuck too long on it - ive been doing “200 words a day” for years at this point and ive written A Lot Of Stuff but not a lot of it is very refined because its a lot of words i have to go back and edit down.
wrt fic, i basically have multiple word docs open at all times so that they’re there and i can always turn things over in my head. this can sometimes feel like a big fucking “YOURE NOT DOING ENOUGH YOURE NOT BEING PRODUCTIVE” sword of damocles so that can be a double-edged thing that aint always so great. it usually works for me because its a good way to kickstart spontaneous bursts of creativity. ill always have these windows open, idly click into one, and go “oh hey thats a good sentence that ties in with this sentence” and then im writing again before im doing much active thought about it. if i spend too much time hyping myself up about “god i gotta get this done i have to do this now” then i start to dread the task so i try to eliminate that window whenever i can.
LONG ANSWER IM SORRY. it comes down to me knowing my habits and my brain quirks and figuring out how to work with them as best as i can. im a routine-based person, so i built writing into my routine. i have memory issues, so if i get ideas at an inconvenient time i write em down to go back to em later. when executive dysfunction makes just starting to write feel insurmountable, i go back to what i wrote earlier and do editing instead. when im grappling with self-esteem and self-worth and i feel like my writing is flagging, i circle back to works i enjoy, both fanfic and published fiction, and study the writing styles of writers i admire for inspiration.
this is stuff that works for me personally! obviously every person is different and what works for some people aint gonna work for everybody. motivation issues are no fucking joke. its super tempting to like compare your pace of productivity to other peoples but honestly thatll just get you down. especially given current global events like, im lucky ive managed to be relatively productive during a Fucking Pandemic but some people wont be and that is COMPLETELY UNDERSTANDABLE, GIVEN THINGS. even then im certainly no stephen king. though i am also no george rr martin. in fact i think we can all take comfort in the fact that we are not george rr martin.

For the WIP questions please! in my sleep i dreamed of waking: 8; for bodyswap au: 12, 14; Gaggletack Slap Bracelets: 13, 16(if you want hehe); General: 19, 11, 25
this ask walked into my house, watered my plants, completed my skincare routine, and cooked me a delicious meal oh my god tysm as always nico for the delicious ask!! :v
for in my sleep:
8. when creating the characters for your wip, what came first to you?
i still remember exactly how the first draft of in my sleep began, actually!
When she's in the hospital, after the concussion, she dreams of flying.
Nothing clear, nothing distinct. She's had flying dreams before, though never as clearly as this one. It's not a nightmare, she thinks. The dreamscape, for what it is, is almost relaxing, a soft plain of moonlight-colored clouds below, and a thousand thousand stars twinkling like rhinestones against the blue-velvet sky above. Whatever the narrative is, it stays disjointed and vague: something is happening, something urgent, though exactly what is never clear. Sometimes, she can almost remember a voice, but it's never quite clear enough to make out; on waking, she never remembers what was so pressing.
She can never recall any more than any other fragments of dream, nonsensical, embarrassing, terrifying or otherwise. All that's left, when there's anything left at all, is a series of impressions: terror, exhilaration, freedom.
And even in the waking world, the impressions linger.
parts of this got recycled later, particularly into the escape from the museum. but originally this fic was something much more...art film-y, something jungian and weird, about linked consciousnesses and prophetic dreams. trying to recreate the feeling when—you've just woken up, and you're trying to remember a dream that's already fading. which is still really cool!! all stuff i'm still interested in. just...something to be saved for a different fic, hehe.
for [as yet untitled] bodyswap au:
12. what part is the hardest to write?
honestly................the plotting in this is kind of killing me, tbh. i've got some great *moments* but nothing to really paste them together? and absolutely no idea how to finish it, lol. the fic starts the day after strickler gives barbara the charm, but the whole bodyswapping thing changes the canon trajectory of events pretty substantially! i got pretty lucky with in my sleep as i could basically just crib off of whatever the actual show had already written, but with this i'm in much more uncharted territory. which gives me a lot of freedom! but which also is vaguely terrifying.
14. tell us about an upcoming scene that you’re excited about.
when jim realizes his mom's not his mom ;)c
for gaggletack slap bracelets:
13. are there scenes that you cut already?
oh for sure. barb finding the amulet, for one (too clunky!); also the old detention scene (nothing happened, and now we...meet someone important :3c). other than that however everything in this au is so preliminary there's not much that's gotten the opportunity to be cut yet! :v
16. give a spoiler.
lenora turns to look at barbara, eyes wide, hands clasped tight around the staff.
"tell zelda," she says, voice small and sure and brave. "tell her—i love her."
in general:
11. how do you structure your plot?
backwards! most of my fic concepts start with a single Scene, which i can usually envision pretty clearly. once i've got that, it's mostly a matter of putting up the scaffolding that lets us get to that point. as a consequence, though, i'm terrible at coming up with endings ´ A `
19. do you know how your story ends before you start writing?
hmm...usually. at least how i want it to end, lol. though see above re: bodyswap au—sometimes the idea just comes at you, and you just gotta roll with it! (ง •̀_•́)ง but i cling to the illusion of control.
25. what authors and books have inspired you to write your work?
aside from the typical 'authors i read when i was younger' (k. a. applegate, brian jacques, terry pratchett) the shameful fact is that i simply do not read much non-fic nowadays! which is regrettable, but...not sure how to fix it, tbh. (i don't handle audiobooks well, and most of my 'reading new things' headspace is dedicated to my dayjob, for which i read actually quite a bit, but nonfiction, most of which is...not written for clarity, to put it mildly.) every time i try to get back into reading, i end up feeling so overwhelmed... maybe if i just assign myself a single book at a time? or just get back into my library's ebook app. hmm.

So I'm just curious, how do you get yourself to write? And do you use prompts and if you do where do you get them? I meant to use NaNo to get me to write but it took 4 days into November for me to realize November started so I failed lol. I've been meaning to start this original thing and it's just not...working.
First of all, anon, you could start writing RIGHT NOW (yes, with 10 days left in the month) and you would not fail NaNo. You might not hit 50k (although I know people who have hit 50k in that amount of time, or less), but you won’t fail. NaNoWriMo isn’t about hitting 50,000 words so much as it is about putting a stake in the ground and saying, “Here. Today. I will start writing the project I’ve always wanted to.” And doing it. Doesn’t matter what that project is—original novel, short stories, fic, poetry, revising something, a series of blog posts—NaNo is about just. Fucking. Doing it. And you still have time to Do It.
To answer your questions:
Do you use prompts and if you do, where do you get them?
For original stories, particularly novels, I usually don’t. For fic, particularly short fic I’m writing for events, I do. Tumblr has a wealth of writing prompts that range from “here’s a situation” to “here’s a line of dialogue GO,” and I tend to reblog them under the tags “fic prompts” or “writing prompts.” Honestly, most of them would work for either original fic or fanfic, so if you are a writer who likes to work from prompts, go forth and enjoy!
How do you get yourself to write?
That’s kind of a big question, and uh, the answer to it got long. Very long. (I said once that if you give me half a chance, I’ll talk about writing all the live-long day, and this answer is no exception.)
Different things motivate me for different projects, and as with all writing-related advice, YMMV, but here’s a few things that really help for getting myself to write:
1) Develop your story.
The current original story I’m working on, for example, I have not really had to struggle to get myself to write at all because 1) I’m stupid excited about it and 2) I have developed the hell out of it.
I’ve talked before about outlining my stuff here, so I won’t go too much into it again; suffice it to say that I have done about the same amount of development on my current original story that I had on ADA by the time I started writing. I started around the very end of September developing my characters and spent a good chunk of October working on setting, worldbuilding, plot, and finally my notecards.
Shockingly, having some idea of what’s happening and where I’m going is making this story easier to write.
Tumblr media
Right? Like WHO’D HAVE THOUGHT.
Because of that, I’ve been excited about writing my story, so getting myself to write on it has been (comparatively) a cakewalk.
That’s not to say any of the writing is good (oh God no) or that there aren’t parts that need fixing, or that I haven’t been stuck. But it’s been stuck like “how do I describe seeing a tree-covered mountain in the middle of fall from the POV of someone who has never seen something like this” rather than “I have no fucking clue what happens next uh…”
The stories I struggle the most with writing are the ones that I’ve worked the least on developing. The stories that have been the easiest to write have been the ones I’ve spent at least a month doing prep work on before I ever start drafting.
2) Love your story.
Being in love with a story makes it a lot easier to write, at least for me. Because here’s the thing, ideas are easy.
If you’re a creative person, you’re going to end up with a file of story ideas—maybe prompts you liked, dialogue that stuck with you, one of those “humans are space orcs” tumblr posts that’s just really clicking in your brain—that will be longer than you could conceivably write if you had a hundred lifetimes. That’s okay! That’s great. But it means a lot of them are never going to get past the idea stage.
For me, the stories that get finished—the ones that not only get started but actually make it through the first draft and then three rounds of editing and revisions—are the ideas that I’ve been percolating on for months, if not longer. They’ve been cooking in the back of my brain while I’ve been doing other things, sorting themselves out, and most importantly: they will not let me go.
Coming up with ideas is easy. Finding an idea that will last and sustain a story and my interest for at least a year, if not longer? That’s harder.
Y’all know how much I’ve been talking about Tiger & Bunny over the past year? We’re talking that level of obsession with a story that I want to write, whether it’s fic or original. Sometimes it takes months or years for all the puzzle pieces to come together. Sometimes the whole thing will congeal within a few weeks, or there will be one crucial piece of story that will just make EVERYTHING come together, I will literally shout “OH MY FUCKING GOD” and that’s it, I’m off to the races. (In this particular case, it wasn’t anything I’d done in the first two weeks of poking at steampunk-y ideas; it was the realization that I could put a circus on an airship. The whole story just went WHOOSH after that.)
BUT. But. Sometimes you don’t have that. These stories are great and I love them and they remind me why I love writing so much (and if you’re writing something that’s gonna be 90k+, like I have a tendency to do, you need to be in love with it, IMO), but sometimes you’re in situations where you just have to get it done. In those cases:
3) Resort to bribery.
I’ve been poking at the third part of Alpha & Emissary, oh, basically since I posted the second part. My problem is that my fandom focus has been, shall we say, split for the past year. *coughs delicately, shoves Tiger & Bunny fics under the bed*
But here’s the thing: I hate having a published WIP on AO3 (it’s why I don’t publish long!fics until they’re completely drafted and mostly edited). I hate—HATE—having an unfinished series on AO3.
So that’s the rub: I have an unfinished series that I want to finish because I hate that it’s not finished. I also have a new fandom that is wresting my attention and inspiration away from said series. What’s a girl to do?
A girl tells herself she can’t write any more Tiger & Bunny fic until she finishes this one WIP, that’s what she does.
And it’s motivated me to sit my ass down and work on that WIP, because goddammit, I have a “but there was only one bed” TaiBani fic that I would really like to have up by New Year’s.
Your bribery will be different. Maybe you get to watch 1 episode of your favorite show per every 1k you write, or you get to try a new knitting project when you finish this short story. Maybe you binge-watch an entire season of your favorite anime if you exceed your NaNo goal. Or you write 50 words and get a cookie. The point is, find what works for you to get it done.
4) Figure out a minimum daily goal and stick with it.
For me, this was 500 words a day. 500 words. That’s it. That’s one 30-minute word sprint for me. That’s something I can do without stressing myself out.
Because of this point and point 3, I wrote more than 7000 words on a story I’d been stuck on for the better part of a year before I had to stop to work on NaNo stuff. Another 7k, and I’ll probably have it finished.
Your minimum word count will almost certainly be different. Maybe it’s 300 words a day, maybe it’s 1000. Hell, maybe it’s 100 words. Again, find what works for you, what you can write regularly without stressing yourself out.
Another important thing: If I didn’t hit 500 words, I didn’t beat myself up about it. Maybe I wrote 350. Or 220. Or just 93. The point is, did I write? Yes? Then I did good. I got myself a sentence or a paragraph closer to finishing. And it all adds up.
(And hey, you don’t have to write every day. I do, or I try to, because that’s what works for me. If it stresses you out to do so, then find another way to make it work.)
5) Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines.
This one’s hard because I can rarely keep a deadline that’s not set by an external source. If you tell me on December 20 that you need a story by December 22? Then on December 22, you’ll have a story, edited and ready to post. But when it comes to something I set for myself, the chances of a deadline working are 50/50.
That being said, it is something that helps me keep on track and even if I don’t finish something by a self-imposed deadline, it does get me writing.
6) Sprint with friends!
NaNo is really great for this because all your writer friends are coming out of the woodwork going I need to hit 5k by the end of today, will you sprint with me? Sometimes it just helps to have that kind of accountability. You all get together (I’ve used Discord, Google Hangouts, IRC, and Twitter DMs for this), set a timer, and write for 15 minutes or 20 minutes or 30 minutes. Then, when the time’s up, you post your word count, everybody congratulates everybody else, and then you take a break before doing the next one.
Sprints are the reason I’ve been able to make some pretty significant headway on my word counts, and few things get me writing like knowing I’m going to have to tell everybody in my group what my word count is in 30 minutes or less. >.>
Like I said earlier, YMMV on all of these. What works for me may work for you, or it might not. But if you aren’t sure, it’s worth giving it a shot.
Happy writing!

I have like twenty sheets of ideas
Just ideas. Once I expand some of them from sketches, and shrink down and organize any original art, there will be many, many more pages.
I also have a couple sheets of things that are just for my personal collection, art that isn't mine.
I'm really happy to move. I don't know if I've mentioned, but I'm moving back to Oregon. My friend offered to let me be his caregiver for a while, so I have money--plus, I kinda do that now anyway. Additionally, it would give me kind of the authority to do meal-prep kinds of things, which my friend and I agree, we would both like. Seeing as I've seen his fridge/freezer, I think I could fit a good number of meals in there. I could make some ahead, portion out cooked and seasoned meat and grains.
Anyway, I'm particularly hungry right now; I don't eat very well when I work as it is, but my checks have been extremely short lately, so I'm eating even less.
I keep thinking about the candy sheet that I roughed up last night; I've already been working on a conversation heart sheet, and I could almost definitely do two or three of different sayings. I could definitely do two or three sheets of just jelly beans, especially as charms, which I could cram sixteen to twenty on a sheet. I hope it's obvious I'm thinking inspired by Jelly Belly.
I also roughed out some candy corn, for Halloween, and I might make some characters out of the candy corn.
I made a sheet for chocolate bars; I don't think I'll do too many chocolate bars. I could see several pages of frappuccinos, shakes and bubble teas, but depending on how the rest of my sheets shake down, I'll try to restrain myself.
There are also these other possibilities that come to mind. Charms and earrings--studs, hangers, studs with hanging charms. Pins, pins with their own charms. Hair clips. Don't even get me started about using the pieces in shakers-- shakers as pins, backpack decorations, shakers as hair pieces, car decorations, shakers as bracelets, necklaces. Charms in shakers.
It's kind of the same heyday I had with sculpting charms, except that I can save pieces at a variety of sizes. Additionally, I can and should fill out sheets with too much blank space and produce smaller pieces.
I'm looking into buying my own printer, so I can do this once I move. I think I can get a good printer for a very reasonable price. Additionally, I'm going to try using fixative spray on a piece-- I'll probably make a new Discord, since my original got ruined when I foolhardily put water-based sealant right over the marker. Plus, I don't know that I need to, but maybe now, I can fix my white and build it enough for it to shrink as white.
I don't know where I'll sell these things, but I guess I'll finally figure that out when I have enough to sell. Which should only be just about the whole package of shrink film.
I kinda want to just go ahead and purchase a second pack, but honestly, I should work through the art supplies I already have-- for example, those two cases of sample bars at which I've barely nibbled. It doesn't even have to be charms. It could be lighter sleeves, or I could decorate some plain glass pipes. I am moving to a tourist location where people are legally allowed to consume marijuana. Lighter sleeves for disposable lighters would probably be a big hit. Or I could make dice cases, dice guardians, DM blinds, dice chutes/towers.
I have all those dolls as well. If I'm going to lug them across the country, I might as well put them to use. It's just a little scary, because I invested in so many of them, with every intention of making them really nice wigs and good costumes. I was recently inspired by an artist who showed working on several at once, and I hadn't thought of doing that. I don't know how I'll get rid of the dolls, which is another big hurdle. It'd be easy to auction them as a random lot of prepped dolls than to try to find buyers for customs.

G33k HQ Presents: MC Front-A-Lot Interview
Interview Questions From G33K-HQ & Darealwordsound (Wordy): Nerdcore Interview Collaboration Questions
MC Front: Thank you for bearing with me! So sorry to continually drop the ball on this. Here you go.
Wordy: What was your first creative outlet? MC Front: I seem to remember kindergarten involving a lot of drawing. First and second grade had poetry exercises sometimes. But the way we played D&D between 2nd and 6th grades was how my imagination really got fired up. We didn\'t like dice and maps that much. We\'d take turns DMing and just sort of freestyle the stories to each other at recess. Wordy:  What was the first rap album you ever purchased? MC Front: It was also my first CD. DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, He\'s the DJ, I\'m the Rapper. Wordy: Who are your biggest music inspirations?
MC Front: Tom Waits, Public Enemy, Bjork
Wordy: Describe your studio to us.
MC Front: I have an Ikea desk that\'s been out of print for 10 years so I get fussy when anyone leans on it. Creaky, cheap old thing. It\'s the only one where you can bolt the rotating side shelves at any height. Perfect for the near-field monitors and re-aiming them for any version of the stereo field. I mix there in my bedroom which isn\'t treated, but I\'ve been in there so long that I can work around most of the room effects. I have a coat closet fully treated, very dead and dry, for vocals. I keep some buttons in there to engineer myself, but everything\'s still happening on the studio computer. My pre-amp and mics and monitors are satisfactory. I could use a better ADC/DAC.
I will record occasional hand percussion, etc, in that closet booth, but very little fits in there. For other acoustic capture, I\'ll rent time at a real studio (any time I\'m tracking my drummers) or I\'ll go field-record strings at someone\'s apartment.
A solid two thirds of the non-vocal sound on the albums is electronic, and I can get keyboard performances or work on drum machine material in the project studio without worrying about the ambient noises of Brooklyn.
Wordy: Describe your ideal home studio if money wasn\'t a problem.
MC Front: A proper treatment of the mixing room would be great. I guess I\'d have twenty of these Avalon pre-amps and a little drum room, as well as a booth big enough for upright bass or cello. There is almost unlimited fanciness available in the hardware market... I guess I\'d have to make a hobby out of shopping. I\'d still use Reaper as my DAW, though -- the least expensive version of that kind of software, and also the best. I could probably spend sixty grand on plugins.
Wordy: What is your creative process for writing and or producing a song?
MC Front: Baddd Spellah, my Canadian beatsmithing partner, has been kind enough to work on grooves with me for the last fifteen years. Usually I will start with something he\'s been kicking around, or he\'ll take a pass at some live drum that I\'ve been chopping up, and we\'ll add keyboard material from Gm7 (Gaby Alter), my longtime music co-writer. When there is a verse-appropriate groove that is in pretty good shape, I\'ll leave it on loop and write. Once in a while, I\'ll write a hook over a groove that feels like a chorus, and start from there. After I\'ve got most of a lyric, I\'ll put down a scratch vocal so that Spellah and I can build a full song arrangement. Then I\'ll record too many takes of the final vocal, and spend too many months dicking around with the comp, the mix, and all the instrumental details. Finally I\'ll listen to it on as many different devices as I can, fine-tune the mix, and stay up for a week and a half making increasingly bad decisions about everything on the album, leading up to the mastering appointment I foolishly committed to several months prior.
Wordy: What is your happiest On-Stage Moment?
MC Front: I think a PAX crowd demanded a second encore once. That makes you feel like a superstar.
Wordy: What was your favorite song to write or record?
MC Front: Maybe Stoop Sale? But that might be because the video came out so well. For the most part, my happiness with the process relies entirely on the result: it makes me happy to listen to a track if I don\'t just hear a barrage of fuckups that it\'s too late to go back and fix. But there aren\'t very many of those. Of all my lyrics, I\'m probably proudest of Two Dreamers from the Question Bedtime album. I feel like I worked out every bit of the story and then obscured it just enough that the listener\'s careful attention is rewarded.
Wordy: What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
MC Front: Practice a lot, develop your talent. Get the skills you need to properly communicate with whoever your creative partners are. Take the craft seriously but give yourself a break for not having mastered it -- that is a lifelong process with no actual end goal.
Wordy: What project do you feel best describes you as an artist?
MC Front: The Nerdcore Rising documentary probably says more about me and the band than I\'d ever be able to, and in kinder words. Of my own projects, I like the Zero Day and Solved albums as a window into whatever it is I\'m trying to say about nerdcore.
Wordy: How do you feel about the disconnect between \"Nerdcore\" and \"HipHop\"?
MC Front: Well, hip-hop is a cultural movement with very specific origins and elements. Rap is a formal music style that emerged from hip-hop. Any \'variation\' or \'new perspective\' that someone brings to rap is fine -- if meaningless. It might matter that you came up with a new thing to say, but the fact that you chose an unusual form for your expression should be the least interesting thing about it. You can write a march for your peace movement, even if marches come from military music, because the march itself is just a formal style of composition. You\'d be smart to note the ironic relationship there, or you\'d be dumb to suggest that there isn\'t one, or that your choice to use a march as an expression of pacifism somehow reaches backward and affects the origin of the form. Anyone who thinks they\'re \'expanding\' or \'liberating\' hip-hop from its roots by rapping about things that haven\'t been rapped about traditionally is probably an idiot.
My idea about hip-hop was only to observe that it was cool. Like, it was the coolest thing happening in American culture when I was a kid, and it probably still is. Breakdancers were the coolest kids on the playground. Graffiti kids were the coolest outlaws in fourth grade. And rappers were the coolest possible composers of verse.
To want to compose and perform verse in that formal style without having any direct connection to hip-hop, and without being cool, is the sort of desire nerd kids might express by themselves, away from arbiters of hipness, and share only with other uncool kids. The idea of nerdcore went no deeper than that, originally. I\'m glad that a lot of other DIY rappers have found that resonant enough to expand upon.
Wordy: Do you feel more \"Nerdcore\" rappers should know about its roots in \"HipHop\"?
MC Front: Definitely. I remember trying to write a Villanelle in a college poetry class. First, we had to read and dissect a sheaf of them. The professor was of the opinion that we would all flounder in the assignment, because there had been only a handful of good Villanelles ever written. I\'m sure none of us wrote one of lasting value. The point was to learn how formal composition connects works, and to appreciate the complications. You can always just do it anyway. But knowing where it comes from and how it\'s been attempted before teaches you how to try to do it well. I think anyone who wants to compose lyrics within the rap genre should know all they can about how raps have been composed so far.
That doesn\'t even begin to address the cultural issue. Some artists misidentify nerdcore as comedy music, and worse yet, think the joke is \"it\'s rap, but white kids are doing it.\" I think that outlook leads to the weakest possible songs, and is generally disrespectful of hip-hop in a way that concerns me and offends anyone who cares about American culture. Of course, not all of the nerdcore rappers are white, but all of the schticky ones are. I wonder if a delve into hip-hop\'s history would cure them of that impulse, or at least afford them the humility to hush it up.
Wordy: Are you involved in any philanthropy in your local communities or abroad?
MC Front: I try to do something in support of Child\'s Play every year. I\'m going to contribute to the upcoming Worldbuilders album project.
Wordy: Can you freestyle? Meaning rap off the top of the head? If so, can we see you drop a few bars next time live?
MC Front: I never do this! I think I\'ve conditioned myself into a certain kind of vanity. Almost everything on the albums is rapped in complete sentences, with rhymes that I\'ve never used previously. Freestyling doesn\'t work that way. I\'m too ashamed to let anyone see me freestyling about the frog, on a log, in a bog, who got sog-gy.
Wordy: Do you consider yourself a “GEEK”?
  MC Front: Of course.
Wordy: In your own words, describe what the word “GEEK” means to you?
MC Front: I decided at some point a long time ago that geeks are all direct descendants of the side-show geek, whose job was biting heads off of chickens. They weren\'t special in any way, except that they were willing and able to do that thing, and it was a fairly extreme thing to do. But because nobody else at the carnival was willing to go to that extreme, the geekery came to seem like a highly specialized skill.
That\'s why you can be a geek about anything. You just need a topic where your knowledge or expertise is so specialized that it seems distastefully extreme to non-geeks. You can geek out about fantasy novels or about robot AIs. But you can also geek out about car engines or cooking. You don\'t have to be a nerd to geek out.
Nerds are almost always geeks, and their subjects of geekery are often recognizably nerdy. But a nerd is something else, a person who was already too weird or too smart, and felt alienated, and embraced geekery as an alternative to whatever broader pursuits the cool kids enjoyed.
Wordy: What is your earliest geek memory?
MC Front: I was a Star Wars geek starting at age three and a half when the first one came out. It was the only thing I wanted to do. I made adults take me to see it 11 times before Empire came out (I kept careful count). I collected the Kenner figures obsessively until they stopped making new ones a year or two after Jedi.
Wordy: What is your \"Geek\" hobby? Do you collect comic books? Anime? Video games?
MC Front: I do still love comics, but I own too many. Video games take up less space. I spend more time gaming than I do working on music, occasionally 70 or 80 hours in a week. It\'s as much an emotional self-medication as it is a hobby.
Wordy: Who are your Top 5 emcees dead or alive?
MC Front: In no order: Busdriver, MF Doom, Del, Q-Tip, Chuck D
Wordy: When is your next show or tour?
MC Front: When I get the dang old album done! Maybe spring 2017 for tour. PAX South is the soonest lone show.
Wordy: Do you have a new album coming out?
MC Front: It\'s called INTERNET SUCKS, and it is going to have a heavy \'get off my lawn\' vibe. Everyone will be mad at me, yet secretly agree with every word on the record. Watch for it to take your feeds by storm.
