365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
December 7th - Johnny Storm, The Human Torch
Jonathan Spencer ‘Johnny’ Storm had been a high school student and amateur daredevil when exposure to high levels of strange cosmic radiation bestowed him super human powers.  Johnny was imbued with the ability to transform his body into a fiery, plasma form possessing pyrokinesis.  He can generate and control fire, enabling high speed flight, energy blasts and the capacity to create temporary constructs composed of fire.  In times of great peril, Johnny can also release a huge burst of energy, a nova blast that can decimate anything around him, yet also exhaust all of his power requiring him to rest for a period of time before he can once again flame on.
Johnny and his older sister, Susan, grew up on Long Island until their mother, Mary Storm, died in an automobile accident. Their father, Franklin Storm, a once acclaimed physician, fell on hard times.  Dr. Storm gambled his family fortune away and ended up incarcerated for the accidental murder of his loanshark.  Thereafter, Johnny and his sister went to live with their aunt who ran a boarding house in the suburban outskirts of New York City.  There, Susan fell in love with one of her aunt's boarders, Reed Richards, who was a doctoral student at Empire State University.  Sue and Reed becoming a couple ultimately led to Johnny joining them and pilot Ben Grimm on the foursome’s fateful mission to outer space.  Their spacecraft passed through the belt of cosmic radiation resulting in each of them being bestowed super powers.  Upon returning to earth, the quartet decided to use these powers to become the team of superhero adventurers known as The Fantastic Four.  Herein, Johnny took on the superhero name of ‘The Human Torch’ (an homage to the hero of the same name who had battled the Axis Forces during World War II).
Johnny loved being a superhero and basked in the fame and adulation it offered him.  He was a critical member of the team and his quick thinking and bravery has saved the day on countless occasions, although it often seemed that Johnny was more interested in the thrills and action of being a superhero and his status as a celebrity.
Along with countless adventures alongside the Fantastic Four, The Human Torch has also embarked on numerous solo exploits and team ups with other heroes, especially The Amazing Spider-Man whom Johnny became great friends with.  Johnny would ultimately become a bit more serious in his role as a hero, acting as a member of the Avengers Unity Squad, The Fantastic Force and a close alley to the Inhumans of New Attilan.
Just as exciting and tumultuous as Johnny’s career as a super hero has been his love life and he has had numerous, torrid affairs.  These relationships have included romances with Prince Crystal of the Inhuman Royal Family,  Lorrie Melton, Frankie Raye, the extraterrestrial Zsaji, Namorita, Zora Vukovic. Queen Medusa, and many others.  At one point, Johnny fell in love with the Skrull agent, Lyja, while she was posing as Alicia Masters.  The two married yet soon there after her secret identity as a Skrull was found out.  Heartbroken, the marriage was annulled but Johnny and Lyja would eventually rekindle their romance for a brief time.
Johnny Storm,The Human Torch has appeared in a number of cinematic features, portrayed by actors Jay Underwood, Chris Evans and Michael B Jordan.  The hero first appeared in the pages of Fantastic Four Vol. 1 #1 (1961).

So, according to new leaks, the villain Jay minifigure coming in summer is not a wolf warrior outfit, but instead his normal ninja tournament suit. The villain part comes from the fact that the set shows him fighting against the other ninja. This might seem a little strange at first, but there might be some bigger story leaks to this. Starting off with the facts and what we have seen so far:
Jay is currently an agent of the administration and has memory issues
the administration is likely at odds with the ninja, after they took back the dragon energy core
In the short scene we have seen of him, Jay appears to speak with a bit of a lisp, saying the „s“ a little longer than usual.
Now my theory is, that the ninja rescue Jay relatively early in the season an the person in the trailer actually is his hood
Tumblr media
However, he still has partial memory loss and seems to behave differently to normal. It also seems like rescuing him was suspiciously easy. Now while looking through the ninjago wiki, i found this
Tumblr media
This is what happened with cole back in season 1, when he served as a spy and warrior for the hypnobrai under Lloyd‘s command for a while, mostly during the battle of the treehouse and the ensuing destruction of the monastery.
Tumblr media
Now while Jay doesn‘t have the red eyes, we have seen a rather large amount of Hypnobrai in season 1, with Mikhlosh at the crossroads carnival showcasing their ability to hypnotize for newer viewers to see.
Tumblr media
And the administration does have an agent under the name of agent underwood who, is in fact a hypnobrai
Tumblr media
She also seems to be in a higher position than other administration agents, judging by what we‘ve seen in the episode. So maybe she is the one who took parts of his memories and turned him into a sleeper agent for the administration, before letting the ninja rescue him. Maybe at the end of part 1 or early in part 2, Jay‘s hypnosis gets activated and he fights against the rest of his team in the mysterious tournament, happening in summer. Major angst potential in all of this, especially with Jay being ripped from the rest if the team, shortly after they got him back, but we‘ll just have to see

Year-End Poll #58: 2007
Tumblr media
[Image description: a collage of photos of the 10 musicians and musical groups featured in this poll. In order from left to right, top to bottom: Beyoncé, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Fergie, T-Pain, Carrie Underwood, Plain White T's, Akon, Nelly Furtado, Fergie. End description]
More information about this blog here
This poll highlights some interesting changes in the direction pop music was heading. By this point, it was clear that pop music was shifting towards a more electronic sound and specifically club music. Buy U a Drank by T-Pain is especially notable for this. Most obviously, T-Pain was one of the most successful adopters of Auto-Tune as a stylistic choice. I touched on the plugin briefly when discussing Cher's Believe, but with both that sound and most of T-Pain's discography, the vocal effect was used to give off a futuristic, almost robotic quality to the voice. But that didn't stop Auto-Tune (and T-Pain specifically) from being used as a punching bag for "untalented singing". In case it needs to be said, the exaggerated use of Auto-Tune on these songs were a stylistic choice. If you're using Auto-Tune to fix a bad vocal performance and it sounds like that, someone messed up. (Also T-Pain actually is a very talented vocalist).
I'm also bringing up this song for how it represents a subgenre of southern hip-hop that would become forever associated with the decade: snap music. While it has its stylistic origins in crunk, snap was recognizable for its simpler production and more laid-back sound. Popular snap songs from the time include Laffy Taffy, Crank That (Soulja Boy), and It's Goin' Down. While not on this poll, Crank That (Soulja Boy) is relevant for being one of the first examples of a song taking off online (as in, someone made the song and posted it online themselves). The song was first posted to SoundClick before expanding to a wider audience on MySpace.
This subgenre is more commonly remembered as "ringtone rap", for how this sound really worked with the audio processing technology capable of cellphones at the time. Like "bubblegum pop" in the past and "mumble rap" in the future, the term "ringtone rap" was often used in a derogatory sense.
But the simpler production techniques found on these tracks is also emblematic of how music production was starting to become much more accessible. Crank That (Soulja Boy) was created using a demo version of FL Studio, and the drum loop for Rihanna's Umbrella comes from Apple's GarageBand (specifically Vintage Funk Kit 03). Technology was allowing people to have easier access to both music production and audiences.
Also, this was the year this site was founded. Yay.
