Thank you Mar ❤️❤️❤️ (for your support!!! and for indulging me!! and for always being wonderful!!!!). These turned out to be teenage/high school headcanons for some reason.

Avery fell out of a tree and broke her arm the Christmas she was ten. Captain Sung (and not Rebecca) picked her up from the hospital, and they had an awkward and mostly silent Christmas dinner at a Chinese restaurant.

Jenny was a lifeguard at the local pool during summers in high school (and my other detectives do not know how to swim lol).

Forest was on the debate team in high school. But he also had terrible anxiety about public speaking and never won or even argued a single match.

Rider was arrested for vandalizing the mayor's car when he was a teenager.

Piper (LT detective) was on track to win a huge scholarship to a music school... but she broke her arm in an incident which was maybe caused by her staring at the head cheerleader instead of looking where she was going down the stairs. Anyway. She missed the Big Important Audition and has not played cello since. :(

Dove was president of the student council.

Mini-review:

This was a very fun and entertaining binge-watch, although it's rather inconsistent in almost every way: the directing, the writing, the fight scenes and the acting of the supporting cast. All these elements have good and even brilliant moments, but they also have mediocre and downright bad moments. Luckily, the three leads always keep the ship afloat with their performances. It's great to see Michelle Yeoh getting the meaty roles she deserves, and both Justin Chien and Sam Song Li are two charismatic newcomers I'll pay attention to in the future. Anyway, despite its many flaws, I enjoyed The Brothers Sun and I ended up growing fond the characters. The ending was pretty satisfactory, but it's clear the writers left doors open for further seasons, and I wouldn't mind getting more.
