Dan Snyder agrees in principle to sell the Washington Commanders for $6 billion to a group led by Josh Harris, an owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils.

The sale would have to be approved by the league’s finance committee and by at least three-quarters of the 31 other team owners. Harris’s group includes Mitchell Rales, a D.C. billionaire, and a group of limited partners that includes Magic Johnson. Snyder bought the team in 1999 for $800 million.
