Ngl,I don't like Kataang or Zutara.. DON'T GET ME WRONG! I like both of these ship's potential.

The only reason I shipped Kaatang was so we could get over it. It was so endgame,it was annoying. And Zutara doesn't add anything. It's more of a fanfic thing.

But I like Zukka. Their platonic bond was great,but Suki x Sokka is important. It could work in a platonic sense or a romantic sense.

So,imo,Zukka and Sukka solo <3

Multishipper here, and wtf is up with all of the discourse in the “anti Kataang” “anti Zutara” “anti Zukka” tags???

Guys, these are all valid ships😭I ship all three of them (tho Zukka is my favorite)! I know the Kataang vs. Zutara war is as old as time, but it just feels especially toxic on here - I ended up filtering out these anti tags (after getting a very kind reply about this, I definitely am glad that people use them so that it can be filtered lol). Anyway, it’s so easy to just live and let live and let people ship what they like!! There’s nothing inherently wrong with any of these three ships and they’re all very fun to think about!

In my opinion, as long as you aren’t attacking other people based on their ship and you’re respectful of all of the characters, we’re totally good!!!

Anyway that’s all lmao. Chill shippers unite!!

You can go back in time and add one extra Zuko and Katara interaction scene into the show (unfortunately everything else stays the same including the awful canon endgame pairs.) What kind of scene between them would you add?

it always drives me fucking mad that zuko literally throws his life away for katara and then apart from ONE THANK YOU (which is beautiful and perfect, don’t get me wrong, but certainly not enough) they just??? never speak again????? like there is no way in hell katara of all people would just fucking dip after zuko sacrificed himself for her you know she was sitting by his bed 24/7 & changing his bandages & fussing over him day and night & i refuse to hear otherwise.

ideally, i would’ve liked the conversation to be at the jasmine dragon in ba sing se (bringing it full circle from the first time they ever connected in the very same city), out in the balcony before the entire gaang comes to join them and hinting at a future relationship, but since i unfortunately have to keep to canon, i would insert it after the mai.ko “reconciliation” and before zuko’s coronation.

maybe zuko opens up to katara over how nervous he is about becoming fire lord, she reassures him, and then he tells her that he wouldn’t be there without her, and thanks her again — and that segues into them talking about what he did, and why he did it (and if we want angst, we can see the hints of feelings that neither of them yet realize or can admit they have, not till it’s too late) and then we end with another hug just to wrap it all up with a nice bow <3

Interesting to see people comparing Aang to David from Lilo and Stich. I mean, David was helpful and respectful of Nani. When she told him she wasn't looking for a relationship at the moment, he understood and backed off. No forced kisses, no violent, angry outbursts. He backed off gracefully and continued to accept their friendship for what it was. He was empathetic to both Nani and Lilo, who was struggling to find her place. And when he went to have fun with them, he considered what they wanted, not just his own idea of fun.

Meanwhile, Aang added to Katara's burden, but occasionally took her to ride the mail chutes in Omashu (which was actually pretty stupid. They could've gotten hurt. The postal workers would've had to deal with it. There would've been all this unnecessary paperwork). Just because Aang and David are both cheerful, it doesn't mean there's any comparison between them.

got into my daily argument with an extremely rude kataang shipper, they kept commenting on a very sweet persons video who posted something about zutara.

the kataang shipper kept commenting with “No.” and “You all thought you ate💀” just really disrespectful comments straight up. if I hadn’t blocked them due to my own stress levels I would put the screenshots in right now.

anyways, they came onto me when i told them that they’ll live and in short to stop harassing this person who has been nothing but nice to everyone in the comments. they made an assumption that I only ship zutara because they’re prettier than aang? to which I responded with, “some of the community might, but most of us have pretty good reasons.” i told them that if they ship zukka, which no hate to zukka shippers its a really cute and interesting ship, that its practically the same thing as zutara.

apparently we’re “crazy” for finding interest and comfort in a ship that’s been going on for about 18 years and counting.

not to mention, a really popular ship, that even the VA’s of the characters are all about. i won’t say that no zutara shipper is rude, because i’ve caught quite a few of them in the act, but as a whole some kataang shippers are just taking it to the extreme.

might leave the fandom, the disrespect and death threats are a little too much. it pains me to pull the plug too because it’s a really awesome series in which I’d like to find peace in my shipping choices without the nasty comments.

For how antagonistic Kataang fans are towards Zutara fans for claiming that it could never happen, they don’t do say the same to Zuko/Jin shippers who think that they are meant to be together and are soul mates just because they had one nice date together. It is almost as if they don’t care about Zuko’s love life as long as he doesn’t get with Katara because to them she is just the “Avatar’s girl.”

People are allowed to criticize Aang. People are allowed to point out the failings of the writing behind his character. He's fictional. His feelings won't be hurt. It shouldn't matter that people hate him.

(Some people who dislike or criticize him aren't even Zutara shippers. And those that are have said that their dislike of Aang has nothing to do with liking Zutara)

What's not okay is attacking Zutara shippers who are real people over their opinions on a FICTIONAL character.

The problem with posts like yours is that they're so hypocritical. You always make out Zutara shippers to be the problem. Do you know what Kataang fans have done? They've doxxed people, sent death threats. They had a rape Discord a few years ago. They've continuously harassed DANTE BOSCO, calling him a pedo because he likes Zutara. They literally recently harassed an NATLA writer on Twitter because she likes Zutara.

Stop calling out Zutara shippers for not liking a fictional character when Kataang shippers have some real damage to real people.

I literally did not put my post in the zutara tag. I put them in the ‘zutara fans critical’ and ‘zutara stans critical’ tags because 1. I didn’t want to put them in the anti zutara tag because it wasn’t meant to be an anti zutara post and 2. I obviously did not want to put the post critical about zutara shippers in the general zutara tag. I’m guessing you most likely just looked up zutara because like again, you can check yourself, I did not use the general ‘zutara’ tag.

also I never said people weren’t allowed to criticize aang. My point was actually that you don’t have to vilify aang to excuse zutara and/or excuse your dislike of aang. Criticizing aang isn’t “aang forced katara to be with him and would be a horrible boyfriend/husband to her” criticizing aang is “aang was in the wrong for how he talked to katara after the ember islands play”.

i’m not???? Where do you see me attacking zutara shippers, genuinely point it out to me because if I was being hostile to them that wasn’t my intention.

I would’ve just ignored and maybe deleted this ask if I weren’t completely baffled by it. How is me making this one post about how certain zutara shippers should just admit they have a negative opinion of aang and much prefer zutara to kataang instead of coming up batshit reasons to claim aang is a horrible person is me somehow attacking zutara shippers for…having negative opinion on aang, and turning a blind eye to kataang shippers that are just as if not worse?

trust me, I think kataang shippers who make up reasons to explain why zuko would also be terrible for katara is just as annoying as zutara shippers who make up reasons to explain why aang would be terrible for katara. And I don’t think kataang shippers, or any shippers, doxxing and harassing zutara and other shippers is ok in anyway. I just didn’t mention it because I kinda thought it would be obvious that kataang shippers that also harass people are just as bad as zutara shippers that harass people. Also, I didn’t know kataang shippers were harassing Dante Basco. I didn’t even know he was a zutara shipper, I’m not that deep in the fandom. I’m not even that much in it at all lol. So even if I were to talk about kataang shippers what did you want me to do about it? Telepathically figure out kataang shippers have been harassing him lol? Not saying that it’s ok nor surprising, I just straight up didn’t know.
