Random Dead Poets Headcanons

i love my silly poet boys so much.

Neil is REALLY REALLY good with kids. They just hang off him. In comparison, kids start crying at the sight of Charlie.

Todd loves chocolate, I mean who doesn’t? But Todd keeps a little bowl of Hershey kisses under his bed for when he has bad days.

Speaking of Todd, he keeps every single journal he’s ever written in. After Neil’s passing, his mother was kind enough to let Todd take a couple of Neil’s journals.

Mr. Keating is an EXCELLENT cook. like stellar. he invites the boys over for dinner sometimes and they are always asking for seconds.

Neil called Mr. Keating Dad once and panicked so much he almost started crying. Like he was stuttering all over himself until Keating gave him a hug, held him tight, and told him it was okay.

Pitts really enjoys those MGM musicals. He can’t dance to save his life but the dancing is just so fanciful and magical to him. His favorite dancer is Gene Kelly.

Charlie and Knox have something similar to "The Slap Bet" from How I Met Your Mother. Don't ask how its started. All anyone knows is that Knox has four slaps left, and Charlie has two.

Meeks was, and will always be, a vegetable hater. Specifically, broccoli. Mostly for the fact of when he was in middle school, his Mom still made him eat it, despite having braces

Neil does not like to drink, he thinks beer, whiskey, and scotch all taste nasty to him. He drinks them to look cool, though.

When Neil does drink, he’s a lightweight. And a clingy drunk.

Cameron is a whiz at Poker. The Poets all swear he counts their cards but he’s just got a really good Poker face.

Knox keeps a collection of Jane Austen novels. His favorite is Sense & Sensibility.

Occasionally at Poet meetings, Neil grabs a copy of whatever play they’re doing at Henley and makes the poets read the roles. Last time, Charlie was Juliet and Cameron was Romeo. Charlie nearly killed Cameron himself.

Neil is an excellent swimmer.

Pitts is one of those guys who enjoys really disgusting food combinations. He quite enjoys pickles and peanut butter together. With a Chocolate Milkshake.

Todd doesn’t like thunderstorms. He hides it from Neil one night and wakes Neil up while he’s crying. From then on, Neil stays up with him when it storms, reading to him or talking just to take his focus off of it.

Chris cannot sing. At all. Chris is a really vocal drunk so she’s always the first one to ask who’s up for karaoke.

Charlie is a terrible cook. He burns everything he touches. Keating has tried to teach him some lessons, but to no avail.

Knox really likes TV westerns like Gunsmoke and The Rifleman and Rawhide. He looks like a kid in a candystore everytime he watches one. Pitts is the only one who will watch them with him.

Charlie lost a bet to Todd once and Charlie ended up having to shave his eyebrows. Todd called him “Baldy” for the duration that they were gone.

Meeks does not like blood. It either makes him want to vomit or pass out. Or both, in no particular order.

One time, Charlie had to go to the hospital for a serious case of pneumonia. Out of all the poets who were distraught, Cameron hurt the most. Suddenly, their dorm was too quiet. When he came back, Cameron threatened to kill him if he ever did it again. That’s when Charlie and him created a silent truce.

Todd has a pile of unread books on his nightstand. Yeah, he’s one of those people. It’s okay, I am too.

Todd has a dog at home named Lucky. Lucky is his pride and joy. He’s a Jack Russell Terrier.

The Poets once tried to Parent Trap Keating with their school librarian. It worked out for a few months.

i want: what are all of these short ass titles? 'i wish', 'taken', 'i want'. i get these boys are teenagers but smhhhh. oop wasn't expecting the piano. OK THAT FIRST VERSE??? OKAYYY HARRYYYY. i actually unironically love this song

Hello. Do you have any tips for designing and writing non traditional looking prosthetics?

Hey, sorry for the slow response! I have a lot of tips but it's pretty dependent on what you mean by non-traditional. Assuming you just mean prosthetics that aren't designed to look like the limbs they were replacing, my main tips would be:

consider your character's personality and intrests. Is there something the character wearing the prosthetic is really fond of (e.g. horses), are they part of a subculture or group (e.g. a punk) or does the rest of their design have a "theme" (e.g. Posion Ivy and plants). Any and all of these things can be used as inspiration. It can stick to surface-level stuff like putting stuff on the cover of the prosthetic or even painting the prosthetic to reflect these things, but you can go a lot further with it too. For example a druid in a DnD setting might get magical plant prosthetics, or in a more grounded setting, you could have something like the "Vine Arm" Designed by Sophie De Oliveria Barata for Kelly Knox.

Speaking of Sophie, I'd recommend looking at her work for some ideas and inspiration too, she has a lot of very cool prosthetic designs and founded The Alt Limb Project - which is a project specifically centering unusual and alternative prosthetics designs. I was going to suggest looking into a couple of models and performers such as Viktoria Modesta who is known for her unusual prosthetics (and their use in her music videos) but as I understand it, she and all the other people I was going to recommend were part of The Alt Limbs Project and worked with Sophie De Oliveria Barata lol so I'll just link the website here.

Finally, just remember to have fun with it. Most people irl who use these kinds of prosthetics do so as a form of self-expression and exploration of identity, so don't be afraid to do the same thing for your characters.

i love love LOVE headcanons so I’m gonna share some of mine (specifically for my modern au lol)

Todd’s favorite movie is fantastic mr. fox <3

Charlie is the number one Britney Spears fan in the great state of Vermont

Knox is the only one of the group with a license and a car (Todd is scared of driving, Neil’s parents won’t let him get his license until he’s 18, charlie should never be allowed to operate any vehicle ever, Pitts has failed his exam twice now, meeks is blind, and Cameron’s saving up to buy a car) also yes the car was a gift from his dad

Ginny takes French and sprinkles it into her sentences all the time to impress her friends (mostly Chris)

Neil did track and field for the first two years of high school but his dad made him drop it to focus on his grades and soccer </3

Charlie introduced neil to Britney Spears and has converted him into a pop girlie

Neil has a Walkman and loves collecting tapes and putting mixtapes together :)

Meeks is president of the physics club

Knox’s parents are divorced and he lives with his dad

Favorite seasons:

Spring: Pitts, Cameron, Knox

Summer: Charlie, Meeks

Autumn: Neil

Winter: Todd

(The favorite seasons are so controversial between me and my friend because they insist that Todd’s favorite season would be fall because of what happened in winter but I raise you: if that didn’t happen (and before it happened) Todd’s favorite season would be winter because he likes spending time inside bundled up by the fire reading and hanging out with his buddies)

Charlie is a Reese Witherspoon stan

Cameron loves Kelly Clarkson and Katy Perry

Charlie has known he’s bisexual since 6th grade and since then has been unashamedly open about it <3

Mr. Keating is married to his wife and he loves her very much (also he is my bisexual king)

Pitts is ambidextrous because he got bored one summer and taught himself to write with his non dominant hand

All the boys except Todd have been close friends since freshman year. Neil and Charlie have known each other the longest since they were neighbors growing up and have been besties ever since

Cameron became part of the group by accident when meeks invited the whole 7th grade home room class to his birthday and Cameron was the only one outside the main group to show up

Todd was one of those kids who would watch worms at recess and talk to them very kindly

I am a good big brother Jeff stan and I will never apologize for it. Jeff and Todd are besties. Todd got into soccer because of Jeff and some of his fondest memories are of them playing together when they were younger

Jeff is taking a gap year before he starts his third year of college (at like Yale or something idk he’s an economics major) and he’s been staying at home recently which has made Todd a bit happier about having to change schools so suddenly

Balincrest (Todd’s old school) was a boarding school, but in the modern au Welton is not. Todd is more upset about this than anything but at least he gets to see the family dog Lucy (who is a golden lab because the andersons are basic ass white bitches)

Benoit Blanc in a Muppets movie?

Ever since Glass Onion, the sequel to Knives Out, opened, the Internet has been clamoring for a Benoit Blanc/Muppets crossover. They clamored so hard that director/creator Rian Johnson heard them, but had to turn them down on the idea. However, author Kelly Knox suggested a holiday special, and…

Guys, if we get a Benoit Blanc/Muppets holiday special crossover, I may die of squee. On a related note, if you haven’t seen Glass Onion (or Knives Out) yet, you should absolutely do that ASAP, it was excellent.

Layla El, Kelly Kelly , And Brooke Adams, Extreme Exposè , 2007.

Extreme Exposè was a stable and in ring dance group consisting of WWE Divas, Kelly Kelly, Layla El, and Brooke Adams. They all were signed to the ECW ( Extreme Championship Wrestling) brand of the company. Layla was the winner of the 2006 WWE Diva Search , having previously dance experience by dancing for the NBA team, the Miami Heat , Carnival Cruises , and as a backup dancer for Kanye West. Layla made her debut on Smackdown but was soon drafted to ECW.

Kelly Kelly was a model for Hawaiian Tropic and Venus Swimwear before being signed to WWE in 2006. She was sent to OVW ( Ohio Valley Wrestling ) , before making her debut on ECW in June of that year. She was given her own segment known as ‘ Kelly’s Exposè ’ with the gimmick of an exhibitionist and giving weekly stripteases. She also became involved in a storyline with Mike Knox and becoming his valet.

Brooke Adams worked as a model in Texas before signing with WWE. She has worked with companies such as Hawaiian Tropic. She was also involved with fitness modeling and appeared on different TV shows. She auditioned for the 2006 Diva search and didn’t make the top 8 finalists. She was sent to watch wrestling workouts at OVW and was offered a developmental contract. She soon was sent to Deep South Wrestling ( DSW ) to train and be a valet for Daniel Rodimer.

In 2007 , Brooke Adams made her ECW debut alongside Kelly Kelly and Layla to form Extreme Exposè. The group held weekly dance segments until The Miz was drafted to the brand and took their contracts hostage. All three Divas began going after him. However, Kelly Kelly became interested in Balls Mahoney. However, she finds that Miz , Brooke, and Layla were making fun of him , leading Kelly to leave the group and turn Heel to align with Mahoney.

Extreme Exposè would appear in Timbaland’s video for his song , ‘ Throw It On Me ’ alongside fellow WWE Divas , Ashley , Maryse , and Torrie Wilson.

Brooke Adams was released from her WWE contract in November. Thus, Extreme Exposè ended with Layla turning Heel on Kelly Kelly and their rivalry beginning. Each member of the group would find success on their own with Layla being Women’s and Divas Champion, Kelly Kelly becoming Divas Champion, as well as 24/7 Champion , and Brooke finding success in TNA by becoming a two time Knockouts Champion and a one time Knockouts Tag Team Champion.

My Final Thoughts:

I feel like this group doesn’t really get talked about enough. They were all beautiful and talented in their own way , however , I think that they were amazing together. They helped pave the way for Women’s Wrestling will forever be remembered.
