I’m sorry there aren’t more options, I only had 10 spaces or I would’ve included more. I tried to go with the most common and obviously with groups!

What counts for singing is up to you. I think most people sing some amount, but you can decide if yours counts or not. The reason for this is because you can teach yourself an instrument, so not requiring lessons or anything for either instruments or singing.

If you want to learn an instrument, especially if you don’t currently play any, I would love to know if you shared!

I dont like takes about how 00s symphonic metal like nightwish only got hate for misogynist reasons bc they had female vocalists. Like to some extent maybe, but lets be honest, it just sucked. And as a woman these bands rubbed me the wrong way because they only liked women as vocalists and only if they were attractive enough and looked good in corsets. Its kinda an approach to women adopted from pop music. Treating women in music more like models than actual musicians. I grew up in that era and the dudes who listened to that treated it like a contest on who has the most fuckable vocalist. There were women playing actual instruments in 80s death metal bands and they were appreciated in the scene for their talent without having absurd expectations of looking like models forced on them, this shit is not groundbreaking

#and even if these women played an instrument it had to be like piano bc women are too soft to play drums or guitar riiight #i just think bolt thrower fans were never acting so fucking weird about jo bench comparing to this shit #so its a weird false dichotomy to make that ppl who like more oldschoolish metal are necessarily bigoted n sexist #and if we compare it to scenes like grindcore and punk. oh boy. having a female vocalist in 00s was nothing revolutionary bfr #and music-wise i just find metal with these high pitched keyboards to sound corny as hell??? metal shouldnt sound goofy or corny

Y'know I started playing the recorder for shits and giggles bc I'm going to dress up as the 2nd Doctor for a con, but this instrument is actually so fun and addicting.

Like 2 was actually so right for whipping out a recorder the moment he has to wait around for more than 5 seconds. I'll be outside somewhere understimulated as hell and severely craving the toot of my flute too.
