Quick overview on Lilli's Pokémon... Rewrite? Verse? Idk what this is lmao
All I really know for sure is that I have a lot of thoughts about pokemon's lore and plotlines. I want to try my hand at connecting stuff with a little more continuity because it's fun! There's no way I can get to everything because we'd be here all day, but I figured I'd set up the basic premise and include some fun notes/headcanons!
My general idea is focusing from the anime (up until Horizons) while also including more components from the games (such as more of the SWSH plot/rivals, Emma from XY's post game, Zinnia and the Delta Episode, etc). I also include a multitude of my own original characters, along with some of my friends' (most prominently @starkitters's goobers). Storylines are generally divided up by "sagas" based on the original generation they take place in! I may include some Horizons as it would coincide with ScaVio, but I need to catch up with that series (though from the looks of it it’s all pretty banger)!
This concept is definitely going to mostly get smaller things of art/comics/drabbles and whatnot rather than a full-fic/comic series or whatever because... oh gosh there's way too much. Also obviously not going to cover every single anime episode bit by bit because that would make me insane!!
As for a general timeline— a lot of this main stuff would kinda unfold in the span of 2-3 years? I might make it longer, but then again a lot can happen in even just a month, y’know? Generally, Ash would stay 10 between Indigo League-Advanced, 11 by DP-XYZ, and 12 during SuMo-Journeys. The Legends Arceus shenanigans would probably be during Journeys and the ScaVio stuff is definitely after (I'm thinking potentially a year or so after Journeys' saga would be wrapped up? Though it could even be immediately after idk).
There is. A ton of information even just in this little intro post, and a lot of it isn’t even fully concrete either. But if you find the time to read through it all, I’d really appreciate feedback!
General/Introductory Information
Earlier involvement from rivals/evil teams such as the Galar Rivals, N and Team Plasma, Team Skull, etc! All of that will be covered more in the respective sagas they all appear in, lol
I'm kind of on the fence for whether or not more player characters would be included? May, Dawn, and Serena are canon companions/major characters the anime, I'm including Brendan as Birch's son and Lucas as Dawn's twin brother, Akari and Rei are both going to be native to Hisui, etc.
So far, the mc roles that are taken up by OCs include my characters Lilac (involved in XYZ/SuMo but becomes a Swsh Gym Challenger), Stacy (Emmet's daughter, travels back to Hisui to find her missing Uncle), and Chrys (main Naranja student involved with Nemona, Arven, Penny, and also Kieran and Blueberry stuff). @starkitters's oc Arthur also kinda takes an mc role as Hop's bestie/neighbor and the two of them work with the knight-wolf duo (Zacian and Zamazenta) instead of Ash and Goh just kinda... feeling shoved in there. Ash and his Journeys buddies still get involved in the Darkest Day shenanigans, but another Gym challenger/Hop's bestie)
While characters like Red and Blue/Green aren't really going to be involved since Ash and Gary already kinda take up those roles, there is potential in making like... Ash's dad a Red-esque character? A character based on Leaf? We've also gotten cameos of Jimmy (Gold/Ethan) and Marina (Krys) from the old OVAs and Lyra is briefly seen during DP... but tbh we get so little on them it wouldn't be too difficult to make the OVAs an au or something? I'll have to play with all of it.
The Black and White/Best Wishes saga is going to get some major storyline reworks. Team Rocket (Jessie, James, Meowth, and Wobuffet, etc) aren't going to start actually doing evil shit/working directly with Giovanni out of nowhere. Rather, they get have their own route uncovering stuff about N and Team Plasma, which follows more of the storyline from BW1. Characters from BW2 like Colress and Hugh are definitely still going to appear and their deal won't really change too much, but I'll have to figure out their involvement (especially with Colress he’s got a lot of potential for his own stuff imo). Cheren and Bianca are in a "halfway" sorta period and acting as apprentices for Lenora and Juniper respectively.
I'm mostly going off of the Scarlet side of the ScaVio storyline, with Naranja Academy being in Mesagoza and Sada being the professor inside Area Zero. However, Uva Academy and Turo are also going to be involved! Essentially, Naranja is a school that focuses on helping its students figure out and prepare for careers connected with pokemon (trainers, coordinators, breeders, doctors/nurses, etc) in a more general sense. Uva Academy in Zapapico is primarily a research school (especially prominent for professors and scientists) while Blueberry in Unova specializes in professional battling (League Members, Battle Facilities, etc). Naranja provides courses and connections for careers Uva and Blueberry have niches in, but it's the difference between attending a more well-rounded school and attending a specialized one, if that makes sense.
Turo develops the Terastral Orbs used throughout the Paldea region, while Sada focused on Area Zero and develops the time machine that brings past and future Paradox Pokemon. Their relationship is super complicated and messy /pos. I don't think they ever got officially married, but they're 100% divorced in spirit.
Since the games kinda write Sada and Turo interchangeably (even outside of the whole AI deal) and they're described in the same ways besides pronouns and stuff, I want to make the professors a little more distinct from each other. Sada dives head-first into her passions and doesn't like anything or anyone holding her back, Turo is more conscientious but can come off a lot colder than he intends sometimes, etc.
I know most people hc the Subway twins (Ingo and Emmet), Elesa, Skyla, etc to be in like their late 20s/early 30s... but since I gave Emmet a daughter who's the mc of the Legends Arceus saga... they're actually gonna be slightly younger than Lusamine (around 38 or so) lmao. Let's get more nice and hot older adults up in here
Silver (Giovanni's son/Johto rival) is included! Since there's already a baby Lugia in the anime named Silver and that's just... too perfect, this rendition of the character is going to be named Sage (Yomogi in Japanese). I'm still figuring out his personality and stuff since Paul's whole "be the strongest/pokemon are just tools" thing was pulled from game!Silver, but I kinda want to play with Sage being a little more mellowed out by the time we would meet him in Johto Journeys? He acts as an assistant for Professor Elm, and is surprisingly great with raising pokemon despite the edgy tough-guy act he usually keeps up. He and Brock can nerd out about breeding and nuturing techniques and stuff.
An original team I made myself, Team Comet, acts as a foil of sorts to Team Flare. They’re fighting over (literal) life and death
I’m not entirely sure how to make this work, but I really want AZ’s ultimate weapon to be the (super buffed up) prototype of the healing machines used in pokemon centers. Like… the current machines extract infinity energy from deceased pokemon’s remains (such as ashes and stuff) instead of. Y’know. Draining living pokemon of that energy directly, causing them to die. AZ himself developed this practice as an attempt to redeem himself from all of the tragedy he caused in the name of his Floette. His full name is Azrael Jovalie… making him a pivotal ancestor to the Joy family.
Several large family-clans are the primary leaders of international organizations. The Joy family runs the pokemon centers and overall healthcare facilities, Jenny family runs the international and local police departments, the Jordan family are firefighters who provide aid and try to prevent natural disasters, etc (they may be involved with pokemon rangers? I’m not entirely sure). Others are obviously welcome to work in these forces as well, and members of these families aren’t (usually) forced into working the family business if they want to pursue other goals.
Obviously the anime has all the service-people look identical to safe on time and everything, but I think making unique designs and characters for the Joys, Jennys, etc is a fun concept! No matter their gender or ethnicity, almost every member of a poke-business family have hair and eye colors in the same spectrum. For example, almost every Joy has pink hair that’s styled in circular/drop shapes to some capacity, and blue eyes. Jennys have teal/turquoise hair in lightning shaped styles, and brown eyes. Jordans have charcoal black hair that looks like smoky wisps, and fiery orange/gold eyes.
Xerosic (creepy ass scientist dude who forces you to push a button and coaxes Emma into his expansion suit testing) was originally from Ultra Megalopolis. I’m not entirely sure how to connect him to all the Team Flare stuff??? Or even how exactly he ends up in Kalos but he was part of the Ultra Recon Squad and volunteered to travel to the “main” pokemon world for the to see where Necrozma might try to take all the light next. But when he actually shows up there, he just. Doesn’t care. He’s so fascinated by all of the different pokemon and how energy manifests in such different ways… All he wants to do is learn everything he can about it
Eternatus is an Ultra Beast! The ricochet from AZ’s Ultimate Weapon woke it up and caused the first darkest day.
Builing more from the Adventures manga, Galar was already starting to lose its energy, but the issue is actually going to be addressed far more openly. As Eternatus slept for thousands of years, its dynamax energy gradually dies down to the point where it can’t really be used as a proper resource— especially not to power so many of Galar’s communities. Rose definitely pushed a lot of the reliance of dynamax energy in recent history, but I’m certain Galar has relied on Eternatus for even longer. What makes Rose’s plan to wake Eternatus up again even more messed up (besides putting so many people and pokemon in danger), is that he’s essentially harvesting Eternatus of its energy: Wake it up to get the dynamax levels up again, (have Leon) catch it so it doesn’t go back to sleep… Rose sees the pokemon less as an actual creature and more like a walking power plant, definitely in part with how different Eternatus looks from “normal” pokemon.
The original Sun/Moon storyline with Lusamine and her kids happens first (Lusamine is a mix of the doting from the anime and her abuse from the games… she’s messy /pos). Then, around the time Ash and his friends meet Poipole, that’s when we’d meet the Ultra Recon squad and get into the Necrozma stuff.
Y’know Goh’s whole thing with wanting to catch Mew? How Jessie’s mom died in pursuit of Mew? And the eventual data she found was used for Mewtwo’s creation? Do you see how I’m connecting the dots?
Misc Information
Harley is one of Karen's cousins, making them both descendants of Sanqua (Galaxy Team's Construction Leader) and her little brother, Melli (Diamond Clan Warden of Coronet Highlands). Obviously... we can tell who took after who even after all these years, lmao. They also have a baby cousin (one of my ocs lol) named Jimson from Laverre City (Kalos) who is currently one of the Blueberry League Club's Biome Leaders! He specializes in psychic types... and is lowkey a chuunibyou (really commits to the wizard/witch act)
While Serena is in Hoenn, she meets Lisia and the two become girlfriends besties! They’re like twelve so idk if they’d actually do anything with their feelings but the mutual pining is very very apparent. Their ship name is Dreamshowshipping!
Chloe is highkey a lesbian. That’s just always how I’ve interpreted her??? She’s constantly shocked that Ash knows all of these cute girls. I think her and Iris eventually being a couple would be very cute. If Flowershipping isn’t taken, I shall call them that!
Because I am not immune to @yamujiburo’s propaganda of Hanamusashipping (Hiii Kiana if you’re reading through all of this I am so honored and so sorry it’s so much gjdhdhdhs), I love the idea that Jessie and James start a poly/ish thing with Delia!! By that I mean Delia and James are more so queerplatonic and Jessie is smooching both of them lmao. Ash’s step parents have been here the whole time yippee!!
Arven gets a harem to make up for all the trauma (/j but also not). He gets 2 boyfriends (Giacomo and Drayton) and a girlfriend (Copaia, my main Uva student character). They are all bisexual, bet u didn’t know that ;p
Carmen and Amarys are lesbians and girlfriends!! They’ve been dating for 2 years until the main events of the ScaVio saga
I’m not entirely sure what to do with Indigo League’s Elite 4 since it changes between Kanto and Johto?? Will and Karen are definitely well-known trainers (and possibly even coordinators?) in their own right, but idk if or when they would take Lorelai and Agatha’s places. They might become members around Journeys (since I’m treating that as a general 2 years since Indigo League), but that’s very much up in the air.
Xerosic straight up ditches his daughter (Zossie). Which. He was never that good of a parent anyways but.
Klara is the younger sister of Lacey’s mother (who I have as an oc), making her an aunt! She gave Lacey her Galarian slowpoke/slowbrow.
Lucy is Kieran and Carmine’s older cousin. I know the go-to is that she’s their mom but Lucy’s vibe is more around her early 20s or so to me.
Because I adore the concepts I’ve found from @critterbitter and their mutuals, Ingo and Emmet are Drayden’s nephews. Which makes Stacy and Drayton second cousins— there’s so much comedic potential there you have no idea. Keep in mind that Drayden is also paternal figure to Iris, and Hop and Leon are her cousins… the family tree gets real complicated real fast lmao

Ocean Eyes Pt. 3
Collin watched Kieran’s father out of the corner of his eyes. The weekend was over and they were finally leaving to go back to Kieran’s place. While Kieran’s father said nothing throughout the entire weekend, he was expecting the older demon to say something now that they were leaving.
It wasn’t until they were all packed and heading down the driveway that he was able to relax. He never ran into the other demon the rest of the weekend but every time he left Kieran’s room alone or Kieran left the room, he always looked around, expecting him to be there.
Throughout the weekend, Kieran and him talked and got to know each other and true to his word, Kieran didn’t so anything but kiss and cuddle with him. He found out that Kieran was 178 years old and he had asked why he didn’t find a mate sooner and Kieran told him that his demon hadn’t accepted anyone and like werewolves and vampires, demons also mated for life until somehow their mate passed away. Kieran also told him he hadn’t been ready for that commitment and had still been in his teen-aged rebellious age and wasn’t ready to settle down. Then for the kicker at the end, Kieran had kissed him and said that he was glad he waited, smiling like he had won the lottery. He had gotten embarrassed by that which only made Kieran tease him even more.
They even talked about what they were going to do about his friend Lennox. One the day of Lennox’s shift, they were going to wait on the edge of the old pack’s territory where they had promised to meet and pick him up. Kieran even promised that Lennox could stay with them for as long as he needed. He had been so happy that Kieran had been so understanding that he nearly cried and Kieran had held him until he felt better.
Collin looked over at Kieran, watching him until Kieran noticed him staring and glanced over him.
“What is it? Like what you see?” Kieran asked with grin.
Collin smiled and reached over, taking one of Kieran’s hand from the steering wheel and interlaced their fingers together. “Thank you.” he whispered.
Kieran gave him another curious glance before turning his gaze back to the road, “Anything for you darlin’.”
3
Kieran opened the door to his flat, letting Collin shuffle in first only to have him stop in the doorway and stare inside.
“This is your place?” Collin asked, amazed.
Kieran didn’t think it was anything special but from what Collin came from, it had to look like a palace to him. He got a place with an open floor plan where the living room, dining room and kitchen were all connected. Right when you walked in, there was a staircase that went to the second floor where his room and a guest room were. There was even a guest room next to the kitchen. A few feet from the stairs sat the couch with a TV and stand out in the middle of the floor. Behind the TV was just a wall of windows and a sliding glass door that lead out to the balcony. It wasn’t nearly as big as Keir's and Cyprian’s places but he liked it and had it for quite a few years.
Kieran walked up behind Collin and wrapped his arms around the pup’s waist, “Don’t you mean our place? You live here not too ya know.”
Collin turned his head, “It’s still so hard to believe sometimes. I feel like I’m dreaming.’
“Believe me, this is not a dream.” Kieran nipped Collin lightly on the neck lightly. The young pup tensed slightly and then squirmed out of his grasp and into the living room. Sure they had been close all weekend but he knew Collin was still getting used to things and it’d take longer than just a few days to do that. Now, Collin was in a new environment and his wolf was probably going ballistic at the new sights and smells and his scent was all over the place.
Collin looked around, slowly almost hesitantly walking farther into the living room. Everything was so new and he wondered how long it was going to take him to get used to thinking that he lived his now with Kieran. At least he wasn’t going to have any issues with getting lost unlike Kieran’s parent’s place. There were also so many new smells that caught his attention yet Kieran’s scent seemed to layer on top of all of them so he mostly just smell Kieran’s scent, which he wasn’t complaining.
Walking out onto the balcony, Collin looked over the city and he could see the mountains in the distance and he probably stared at them for a good ten minutes alone before Kieran joined him, handing him a glass of water.
“Never thought you’d see something like this huh?”
Collin took a sip from the cup before shaking his head, “Never, I only dreamed of something like this. I didn’t think I’d make it in the wild but I like to believe in reincarnation so I hoped I’d be reborn into someone or something that could have the freedom so see sights like this.”  He blinked away the tears when Kieran put an arm around his waist.
“Just think of this as a re-birth. You are no longer the white werewolf outcast you were in your old pack but now just Collin, a werewolf and my mate. Nothing is going to change that so remember you get to see this every morning you wake up and every night before you fall asleep. Besides me of course.”
Collin couldn’t help but laugh at the last statement, “Why is everything about you in the end?”
“Because I’m your mate and you should only have eyes for me.” Kieran answered.
Collin looked up at Kieran, “You’re jealous of a mountain.”
Kieran grinned, “Damn right I am, how would you feel if I spent all my time staring at a mountain than you?”
Narrowing his eyes, Collin growled softy, “I’d make you look at me.”
“Now who’s jealous?” Kieran questioned.
Collin only smiled and turned back to look over the city, “You’re all I have so you don’t have to worry about my eyes wondering to anyone or anything.”
Kieran pulled Collin closer and he leaned down to rest his forehead on top of Collin’s head, his demon purring in appreciation. Collin then suddenly tensed and his face got flushed.
“You’re purring.” Collin murmured, sounding slightly surprised.
Kieran purred louder in response, turning slightly to pull Collin to his chest, “I am a cat demon so that is one of the things I can do. Does it bother you?”
Collin shook his head and his face got a shade darker, “No, I kind of like it. It’s cute.” He mumbled softly.
“I’ve only purred with you,” Kieran whispered, “It means I’m comfortable and my demon is happy that you’re near.” He smiled when Collin looked up at him and happiness shone in the werewolf’s blue eyes, a big smile forming on his face.
“Really?” Collin asked as his heart raced in his chest. No one had ever said that they were happy he was around. His family had barely said two words to him unless they were telling him to do something. They didn’t praise him when he did in school or thanked when he did something without being asked and never once did they say they loved him.
“Yes, really.” Kieran answered and his eyes softened when Collin’s eyes filled with tears.
“I don’t know what I’d do if this turned out to be a dream.” Collin’s voice shook and the tears fell down his face.
Kieran wiped the tears away as they fell and he grabbed Collin’s hand, placing it on his chest. “It’s not a dream love. I’m right here and I’ll always be here. I’m not going anywhere, I promise.”
“Thank you.” Collin whispered before burying his face into Kieran’s chest and he wrapped his arms around Kieran’s waist, hugging him tightly.
“You’re welcome baby.” Kieran held Collin tightly. Collin deserved the world and that’s what Kieran is going to give him.
- 3 -
“Keir, can you come by this afternoon, I need to talk to you.” Kieran said into his phone as he watched Collin rummage around in the kitchen making them lunch.
“Of course, any time in particular you want me to drop by?”
“Any time in the next few hours would be ideal though Collin’s making lunch so if you’re hungry, you’re more than welcome to come by sooner. I just gotta tell him to make extra if you do.”
“That will be nice. I just have to finish up here and I’ll be right over. I’ve been wanting to meet the werewolf father has been going about.”
“So you’ve talked to dad? I bet he did say anything good.”
“Not entirely, I’ll tell you more when I get there. See you soon.”
“Yeah, see ya.” Kieran pushed the end button, tossing the phone onto the couch. “Collin.” He called. Collin paused what he was doing and turned to face him.
“My brother Keir is dropping by, could you make enough for three?”
Nodding, Collin smiled and went back to what he was doing. It didn’t take him long but now he knew his way around the kitchen and probably knew it better than Kieran did.
Kieran continued to watch Collin move about the kitchen. Collin had taken it upon himself to make their meals from now on and while he told the pup it wasn’t necessary since he had his own personal cook. Collin had insisted though, saying it was something he liked to do and who was Kieran to deny him that. He also couldn’t lie when he liked seeing Collin smile when he said what Collin made was better than anything his cook had made.
Kieran was very curious as to what Keir was going to tell him and he could only imagine what his father had said without them around. He knew it wasn’t going to make him happy and probably make Collin upset but he need to be prepared when he confronted the older demon. He didn’t plan on talking to his father until Collin and he mated, making it official but he didn’t want to pressure Collin into anything he didn’t want to do and he couldn’t avoid his father forever. He was sure his father would make an appearance in the next few weeks and he will not be happy to find out that not only did he have Collin still with him but another white werewolf living with him.
He already knew that was surely to cause another fight and his father won’t back down so easily this time. He just wished his father would just accept it, that Collin was here to stay and also that he wasn’t going to become clan leader. That position was rightfully Keir’s and if his father kept pushing the issue, he’d eventually take it up with Lucifer to make his father back down. That was his last resort and he hoped it wouldn’t come to that.
It was a good half an hour later when Kieran heard the door to his loft open and Keir walked in carrying in a bag. Keir’s eyes briefly shifted over Collin before meeting Kieran’s.
“It’s good to see you Keir.” Kieran said, “What did you bring?”
“A cake from downtown. I’d thought I’d being dessert since you’re offering lunch.”
Kieran smiled, “Do you buy cake for you gang too?” he asked jokingly.
“Every once and a while if they ask.” Keir answered with a straight face.
Chuckling, Kieran took the bag from Keir’s hands and placed it on the counter. Opposite to how he acted sometimes Keir was a softy. He could only imagine how Keir was going to treat his mate once he got one.
Keir was a few inches taller than him with golden blonde hair and peridot green eyes. Keir was also very straight-forward and didn’t sugar-coat things but underneath his poker face and monotone voice, he was a great guy and did everything in his power to make the ones close to him happy.
Kieran waved Collin to his side, “Collin, meet me eldest brother Keir and Keir, this is my mate Collin.”
Keir held out his hand and Collin hesitantly took it, shaking it. “It’s nice to meet you Collin. My brother is treating you right?”
Collin flushed, nodded his head and he pulled his hand away. “It’s nice to meet you too and yes, I couldn’t be any happier with Kieran.”
“That’s good.” A small smile came onto Keir’s face, “Don’t be afraid to tell him off sometimes. He likes to let things go to his head every once a while.”
“Don’t tell him that.” Kieran said, punching Keir in the shoulder and Collin nodded quickly before darting back into the kitchen saying something like that lunch was almost done. He motioned Keir to the couch so they could talk while Collin finished.
“I see you haven’t mated with the pup yet.” Keir said as he sat on the couch.
Kieran said beside him, leaning back, “No, not yet. We’re taking it slow and waiting until its right. I might be Collin’s mate but we’ve only known each other for less than a week. I told him I didn’t mind waiting until he was ready.”
Keir nodded, understanding, “Must be hard on him. When werewolves find their mate no matter what age or how long they’ve known each other, the urge for them to mate is strong.”
“Yeah I know and what’s really hard is that he’s not used to anything affection wise since he was the outcast of the pack so I try not to push him so much. There is only so much someone can get used to in less than a week. I’d be more concerned if he was ready to mate with me at this point but it’s getting harder and harder to keep my hands off him now that my demon has accepted him.”
“I don’t blame you, he’s cute. You’ve got yourself a looker and when he grows up a bit more, he’s going to be gorgeous.”
Kieran looked back to Collin and smiled, “Is it bad I hope he stay like this forever, like a puppy?”
“Of course not but you’ll love him either way right?” Keir asked.
“Of course I will.” Kieran answered, his eyes softening when Collin noticed him staring and smiled back at him from across the room. No matter, what, he’d always love Collin.
3
“You’ve really piss him off this time Kieran, he’s threatening to disown you if you mate with Collin.”
Kieran groaned and ran a hand through his hair as he leaned back, “I figured it’d come to that eventually but he won’t go through with it, mom won’t allow it. He’s more afraid of her than we are and if he tried to disown me, she’d kill him.”
Keir smiled, “That is very true. Even if he tried with that threat, Cyprian and I will tell him he has to disown us as well and when that’s on the table, he’ll definitely won’t go through with it.”
“Don’t do that, you never know what he’s going to do and might just disown all of us. However, it wouldn’t last long since mom would never let him do that. I’m still holding onto the hope, he’d just drop the whole thing.” Kieran glanced down at Collin who was staring at his hands either listening or off in his own little world.
“I don’t care what he says or does, Collin is here to stay and I wouldn’t let him go for anything in the world.” Collin now looked up at him with curious eyes and he wrapped an arm around Collin’s shoulders, pulling him close.
“Dad said you were only using Collin to get out of marring Vanessa but I can see that’s not the case and you truly care about Collin.”
Kieran growled lowly, “I’m not playing this game with him. I’m Collin’s mate and my demon has accepted Collin and if he doesn’t believe that, tell him to come over and I’ll prove it to him. Collin is mine and I don’t want anyone else nor will I ever. Tell him that the next time you talk to him.”
Keir held his hands up in defense, “I never doubted you but you know how dad is when he had his mind set on something. I’m still trying to figure out why he’s in such a hurry to make you clan leader and for you to have cubs.”
Shaking his head, Kieran sighed, “I have no idea and why Vanessa? Is the Ives clan special in some way I don’t know about? If he really wants more king cheetah demons, you’d think he’d try and set me up with Lilith from the Degray clan, she’s still unmated and I would have had been more likely to have king cheetah demon cubs with her. The Ives clan has no king cheetah demon.”
“Exactly,” Keir responded, “I don’t understand why Vanessa either. It’s not like we have any trouble with the Ives clan.”
“We won’t know unless we ask him but the likely hood of him telling us is nonexistence.”
Keir frowned, “Most likely and mom probably doesn’t know either. Though it is safe to say that she approves of you and Collin, she just wants you to be happy and if Collin makes you happy, she’s okay with that.”
Kieran smiled at that. He was unsure how she felt through the weekend but he was glad she approved of them. She wasn’t as selfish as their father and always told them she wanted what was best for them and the fact that she knew that Collin was best for him made his chest swell with happiness. Now, if only their father felt the same way.”
“Do you have any plans this weekend or had Cyprian talked to you already?”
Kieran shook his head, “Besides getting Collin’s friend on Friday, we’re free all weekend, what’s going on?”
“Cyprian and Vanessa are having a get-together at their new place Saturday and are inviting family and a few friends from the clan to come. You’ll probably be getting a call from him some time soon.”
“Wow, they already got a home, that’s great. As long as Collin and Lennox can come, we’ll stop by.”
“Lennox?” Keir questioned, looking confused.
“Lennox is Collin’s friend from his old pack and since Lennox is a white werewolf too, when he shifts on Friday, they’ll be kicking him out. So when that happens, we’ll be going to pick him and I’m letting him stay here.”
“Dad won’t be too happy about that.” Keir murmured.
“To hell with him,” Kieran hissed, “I’m not a child anymore and whoever I let stay here is none of his concern. Let him try and stop me. Collin’s happiness is my top priority and if it makes Collin happy to see his friend safe, I’ll do anything in my power to make that happen.”
Keir smiled softly and nodded in agreement, “I was so afraid that dad was going to turn you into his puppet and it makes me happy to see that you have a mind of your own. If I saw you heading down that path, I was going to take you to live with me so you wouldn’t be in his control. I’m so glad it didn’t come to that and I would have done anything to see that didn’t happen.”
Collin’s eyes got wide at the look of love in Keir’s eyes. He was always told that demons were vicious, heartless creatures and didn’t care about anything but themselves and now he knew that was the farthest thing from the truth. Demons seemed to have a deeper bond with the ones in their family and clans than maybe even werewolves. He couldn’t see demons kicking someone out of their clans for something petty like fur color or even what animal demon they were. He couldn’t stop the tears from blurring his vision or the small sob that escaped him. Next thing he knew he was being turned to face Kieran and his tears were wiped away by a warm hand.
“Baby, what’s wrong? Why are you crying? Kieran’s voice was filled with concern and Kieran’s eyes were searching his.
“Everything I learned about demons were a lie,” Collin took in a shallow breath, trembling, “He really cares about you and I wish I had that in my old pack. It make me realize I never had a true family, that they could have never loved me as much as Keir loves you.”
“Oh, darling,” Kieran whispered softly, “Please, don’t cry.” He cupped Collin’s cheeks and kissed him, “Don’t think about them anymore okay? I’m your family now as well as mine and I love you more than you could ever know just the way you are. God, you’re perfect baby.” He said breathlessly, happy to see Collin’s eyes light up at his words, “They don’t deserve your tears, hell even your thoughts. Just know that you are my everything for the rest of our lives.” He pulled Collin onto his lap, holding him close and Collin’s arms came around his neck in return. Be damned if Keir was watching them, he wasn’t ashamed to comfort his mate with others around. He breathed in Collin’s scent, the smell of campfire and wild flowers, the most addictive smell he had ever come across. He didn’t think he’d ever get tired of Collin’s scent.
Glancing up, he gave Keir a sheepish smile, he didn’t expect the conversation to turn to this but after a few minutes, once he calmed down Collin pulled back, blushing as he slipped off Kieran’s lap.
“Sorry.” Collin whispered.
“Nothing to be sorry about baby.” Kieran whispered in reply and he reached over to squeeze Collin’s hand.
Collin gave him a small smile, “I’m going to go wash up, and I’ll be right back.” He pulled his hand away slowly, brushing his fingertips across Kieran’s palm before he went upstairs.
Kieran watched Collin until the pup disappeared into their bedroom before turning back to his brother, “Not what you were expecting I’m sure, sorry about that.”
Keir merely shrugged his shoulder, “Not the first time I’ve seen something like that. Most of the members have mates and it’s not a weakness for anyone to show love or compassion to the ones around them in front of others. I don’t understand werewolves and why they do what they do but that doesn’t make them the bad guy. All of us in our own way are also the bad guy, remember that we’ve all done things aren’t proud of.”
Kieran nodded, “I understand. I’ve always been wary of them but now that I know what they are capable of doing to their own kind, how can I look at them the same?” he questioned, waiting for an answer.
“Just like us and vampires, werewolves do things their way. They don’t say anything about what we do and we don’t say anything in return. It’s how it is and how it’s always been.”
Kieran narrowed his eyes, “Not always, I was young but I remember.”
“That’s the past and we are in the present. We’ve learned from our past mistakes and we won’t repeat them. I have to go though, things I need to check up on but thank you for lunch.” Keir paused to look up at Collin who had made it to the middle of the stairs, “It was nice to meet you Collin, I hope to see you this weekend.”
Collin looked to Kieran for a brief moment, “It was nice meeting you too and I hope so as well.”
Keir nodded before making his way out of the apartment.
Kieran hadn’t moved from the couch so he pulled Collin into his lap before the pup had the chance to sit down beside him and held him close. “If Cyprian says it’s okay, would you and Lennox even want to go, I won’t force you if you don’t want to come.”
Collin tucked his head under Kieran’s chin, “I can’t speak from Lennox since he’s never met a demon in his life or hell, I’m the only one besides his family he’s ever met. His family never even let him go to school so I was the one who taught him how to read and write. They were 10 times worse than my family and I wouldn’t put it past them to hurt him when they chase him off to make sure he doesn’t survive.”
“Do you really think they’ll do that?” Kieran reached over and grabbed Collin’s hand, interlacing their fingers together.
“I wouldn’t put it past them. I overheard his parents talking to mine about just killing him to save him the trouble of surviving in the wild, saying that a quick death would be merciful and they’d feel a little less guilty about the whole thing.”
“If they knew they were going to feel guilty, why do it in the first place?” Kieran hissed, tightening his hold on Collin, “I can’t believe they didn’t let him go to school, did they keep him in a cage or something?”
Collin tensed and squeezed Kieran’s hand, “They thought he didn’t need to experience those kind of things since he was never going to live that type of life. He was the youngest so he didn’t have any siblings to take care of like I did so he was locked in his room all day and it was the size of a storage closet basically. The only reason why he met me was because my parents convinced his that it'd be a good idea for us to become close so if we stayed in the wild together, we’d have a better chance at survival. He’s going to be worse than me at adapting, meeting others and now demons. Growing up, I was told that demons were vicious, awful creatures that ate humans for the hell of it, killed others if they didn’t get their way and that they didn’t care about anything but themselves so that’s what I told him when he asked about other creatures in the world. I doubt he’s even seen outside, doesn’t know how anything works and it’ll take him a longer time to adjust to anything and everything.”
“That’s just awful.” Kieran whispered, “I’ve never heard anything like this. It’s takes a lot for a demon to get kicked out of the clan, more than just not listening to the clan leaders and vampires are the same way. It’s extremely rare for them to kick someone out of their clans. I assumed werewolves were the same way since the more wolves in the pack, the stronger the pack was as a whole.”
“I guess they’d rather be a weaker pack than risk having a cursed wolf around on the off case they bring a curse that wipes out the pack.”
“Is there even proof that white werewolves being bad luck after their shift?”
Collin only shrugged his shoulders and he nuzzled his nose against Kieran’s neck. He knew it was because Kieran was his mate but he loved the demons scent, the smell of rain and grass. He found it odd yet addictive. Odd because he assumed that Kieran being a cheetah demon, he wouldn’t have such a strong scent not that he was complaining. With Kieran’s scent all over the place, it was getting harder and harder to ignore the urge to mate with demon.
He learned a little bit about mating from the older kids in the pack when he went to school. He was told that your mate was your other half and nothing would be the same once you met them, you’d never be able to live without them and you’d go insane from being separated from them. Also, that the urge to claim them would hit you like a literal freight train and god did it. It took everything he had not to pounce Kieran when he walked into the hospital room and even now he didn’t know how long he could hold out.
Collin shifted on Kieran’s lap to where he was straddling Kieran’s lap, legs on either side of Kieran’s thighs and he wrapped his arms around Kieran’s neck, watching closely to Kieran’s reaction. He shuddered when Kieran’s hands came up to rest on his hips and he noticed that the demon’s eyes darkened slightly, pupils shifting to slits.
“Collin.” Kieran whispered.
Collin’s eyes briefly fluttered shut at the sweet tone in Kieran’s voice and when he opened them, Kieran’s eyes had bled to a dark red. He tilted his head, leaning in until their lips were only a breath away and he waited until the right moment, pulling back right as Kieran leaned in to close the distance. He couldn’t stop the smile forming on his face when Kieran growled softly.
“You damn tease.” Kieran muttered before flipping them on the couch so Collin was now on his back, Collin’s legs wrapped around his waist at the sudden movement. It was his turn to smile at Collin’s wide eyed, shocked expression, “Don’t test me pup.” He purred.
Collin’s face flushed and his breathing quickly got heavy, his heart racing in his chest. He wasn’t sure if he was fully up to having sex yet but he couldn’t hold his wolf back from claiming his mate.
“Collin, I want you to tell me the truth. Are you ready to have sex with me? This is a big thing and if you aren’t ready, I want you to tell me and I don’t want you to think you have to rush for my sake, we can wait.”
Collin shook his head, “But I-”
Kieran kissed him softly, cutting off his next words, “No buts darling, I know it’s hard, trust me. My demon wants to claim you just as badly but you control the pace, not your wolf or my demon. It’s not a rush okay however, I do know of a way for you to claim me without having sex just yet, do you trust me?”
Eyes softening when Collin nodded his head, Kieran sat up, running his hands over Collin’s thighs as he did so. Collin sighed breathlessly as heat filled his belly, his eyes glazing over. He watched Kieran grab the hem of shirt and lift it over his head, throwing it to the floor before leaning over to hover above him. His hands itched to touch the demon above him but he held back, digging his fingers into the couch.
Kieran noticed what Collin was doing and gently grabbed Collin’s wrist, bringing his hand up to the pup’s palm was pressed to his chest. He grinned as Collin’s hand begun to tremble.
“You’re gonna have to get used to touching me, baby. Don’t be shy, you can’t do anything wrong.” Kieran whispered.
“I-I’ve never done this before.” Collin stuttered.
“I know love but you have to start somewhere and maybe someday, you’ll take charge.” Kieran said with a wink.
Collin blushed at the thought, his body shuddering and his eyes moved to his hand on Kieran’s chest, brushing his fingertips against the demon’s skin. He hesitantly ran his hand over Kieran’s abs, feeling ever dip and warmth of the demon's skin before coming up to rest it against neck. This feeling was foreign to him, the feeling of warm skin of another and he could only hope he’d get used to it.
Kieran leaned against Collin’s touch and he begun to purr, taking into notice at how Collin tensed. He slowly slipped his hands under Collin’s shirt, watching the pup’s reaction before moving his hands to Collin’s sides, brushing his fingers over his belly. He stilled, meeting Collin’s eyes and he waited for Collin to get his approval to continue. Collin’s blue eyes shone with anxiousness and most importantly trust. With a small nod from Collin, he moved his hand down to the edge or Collin’s pants, watching for any reaction that told him he was going too far. With nothing of the sort, Kieran unbuttoned Collin’s jeans and pulled down the zipper.
Collin’s breath hitched as Kieran’s warm fingers brushed against him and he noticed he could hear every small noise, the sound of his heavy breathing and Kieran’s soft purring to comfort him. Everything was so new to him, the feeling of Kieran’s hands, the warmth in his belly and the fog in his head that muddled all his thoughts. He couldn’t help but wonder how Kieran was feeling. He took in a sharp breath, eyes going wide and back arching when Kieran slipped his pants down slightly, hands coming to rest on his thighs and out of instinct, his hand snapped to Kieran’s wrist, stopping him.
Kieran instantly stopped and looked up at Collin, eyes softening at the slight fear that swim behind blue irises. He didn’t remove his hands but he leaned down, kissing Collin’s gently. “It’s okay baby. I just wanna make you feel good.” He purred lowly.
Collin’s eyes wavered, “I- I um, I mean, I’ve.” He hesitated, his face growing warmer, “I’ve never.” He whispered as he shyly met Kieran’s gaze, hoping the demon understood without him actually saying it, it was embarrassing.
“Never?” Kieran’s eyes widened slightly when Collin shook his head.
“I was the 3rd of 10 siblings, I never had privacy, even in the bathroom.” Collin murmured as he averted his gaze. It was silent for a few moments and he couldn’t help but think Kieran didn’t want him anymore because he was so inexperienced. Tears blurred his vision and he squirmed in discomfort.
“Baby, don’t cry.” Kieran said softly as he wiped away the tears, “I don’t like seeing you cry. There is nothing to be ashamed of so look back at me and believe me when I say that the fact that I’ll be the first one ever to give you that kind of pleasure makes me extremely happy.” When Collin looked back to him, their gazes locked, he leaned down kissing Collin breathlessly and only separating when Collin’s legs tightened around his waist. “Darling, I don’t care about that. I just want to give you the pleasure you deserve, I want to make a mess of you and see your face as you come for the first time, Can I?”
Collin’s face took on the shade of a cherry, flushing to the tips of his ears and Kieran was concerned the poor pup was going to pass out but Collin squeezed his eyes shut and nodded his head.
Kieran smirked, “Thank you.”  He whispered quietly as he moved down to Collin’s neck, nipping at the skin he found there. Collin gasped, his leg jerking against Kieran’s hip and he tilted his head back to allow Kieran more access. Kieran wasted no time and continued to nip at Collin’s neck, moving his hand to cup Collin’s erection through his boxers.
Collin’s back arched, a small whimper escaping and his hips stilled as pleasure raced up his spine. Eyes blurred over from the pleasure and he wondered if he was feeling this much already, what it would feel like if Kieran touched him directly.
When Kieran could tell Collin was close, he moved up so his shoulder was in front of Collin’s face and so he could purr in Collin’s ear. At some point both of Collin’s arms had managed to wrap around his back and Collin was digging his now lengthened claws into the back of shoulder. It didn’t hurt but he knew he’d have to get used to it with having a werewolf as lover. He couldn’t blame Collin either, he assumed Collin was drowning in so much pleasure that he had no idea what he was doing anymore.
Collin couldn’t believe his ears at all the noises he was making, whimpering and moaning with every movement of Kieran’s hand and it embarrassed him like nothing else not even getting naked in front of the pack for his first shift.
“Just let it go baby, cum for me.”
Collin vaguely heard Kieran whisper in his ear and something snapped, his back arched and he practically screamed, moaning loudly as his vision went white.
“Bite my shoulder darling.”
Collin’s eyes went wide as his vision instantly came back, gold eyes locked onto shocked red ones as he did what he was instructed, his canines sinking into the demon’s skin, claiming him. His body trembled with the after-effects of his orgasm, pleasure still numbing his body when the sweet taste of Kieran’s blood over-powered him, his hips jerking up as a second orgasm washed over him. His head fell back onto the pillow once his wolf was satisfied with the claim and his body shook, his breath caught in his throat. His arms fell limply to his sides and he was soon learning that it was hard to keep his eyes open and it wasn’t until Kieran whispered that it was okay for him to sleep, did he obey his body’s demand, eyes slipping shut and he fell asleep surrounded by comforting arms, a hand running through his hair.
- 3 -
When Kieran opened his eyes, he noticed that Collin wasn’t cuddled to his chest anymore but was cooking in the kitchen. As he stood from the couch, he could feel his shoulder aching from when Collin claimed him, the pup sure didn’t know how to hold back. Making his way into the kitchen he snuck up on the unsuspecting pup by wrapping his arms around his waist and pulling him back.
“How are you feeling?”
Collin nearly jumped out of his skin, jerking his head around, “I-I ’m fine.” He answered quickly. His face begun to heat up as he remembered what happened just hours earlier and he glanced at the bite mark on Kieran’s shoulder, “Does it hurt?” he found himself asking.
Kieran chuckled, nuzzling the back of Collin’s neck, “Nah, it’s just a slight burning sensation. It takes more than just a love bite to hurt me. Is your wolf feeling better?”
Collin nodded and turned back to what he was making. His wolf seemed plenty satisfied and even though it wasn’t a full claiming, it felt nice to know that Kieran was his.
“I hope you don’t mind that I changed your clothes. I didn’t think you’d want to wake up in dirtied boxers, it’s not a pleasant feeling believe me.”
Collin felt his blush returning, “It’s fine, thank you.” He whispered. He was grateful but embarrassed all the same and now he didn’t know how he should face the other.
Kieran tightened his arms around Collin’s waist, still nuzzling the pup’s neck and he begun to purr in hopes of getting Collin to relax. Collin was tense, eyes way to focused on the task he was working on and he knew Collin was embarrassed but this was something he was definitely something the pup was going to have to get used to. Everyone he had been with in the past, he had been very affection with and now that the pup had partially claimed him, his demon was anxious to complete it. His demon wasn’t known for patience but he himself had plenty of practice.
“Baby, there’s nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about, okay? Sex is a natural instinct, more so in our species and you were perfect so don’t think too hard about it.”
Collin nodded and finally relaxed, leaning into Kieran and he closed his eyes, “I know and I know I sound like a broken record yet, I’m still not used to things, such as the act or even the affection you’re showing me right now. It still feels weird sleeping in your arms at night.”
Kieran pulled back slightly, “Would it make you feel better if we slept in separate rooms for a while?”
Collin turned in Kieran’s arms, shaking his head, “I might not be used to it but that doesn’t mean I don’t like it. I can’t get used to it if we give up and your smell comforts me, helps me sleep.”
Kieran brought Collin closer, pressing his forehead against the pups, “I know darlin’ which is way we’re taking it slow, letting you get used to everything at your own pace. You trust me right?”
Smiling softly, Collin raised his gaze to meet Kieran’s, “I do trust you,’ he then dropped his gaze, “But that kind of scares me. Is that normal?”
“Very normal pup, trust is a scary feeling for anyone and a big step for you. The fact that you trust me in such a short time makes me extremely happy.” Kieran tilted his chin up and kissed Collin softly before releasing him. “Thank you. I can’t wait for dinner.”
Collin watched as Kieran walked back to the front room. It hadn’t even been a week and Kieran had given him so much, most he didn’t even think he deserved since he couldn’t give anything back in return but for the first time in a long time, he was happy.”

OOOH okay i don’t know if this is a pov you had written, but Maybe something with Cobb Vanth + Paz and the crew? Especially because in chapter 40 you mention that Cobb lost his temper with Paz at first, would love to see something like that ahaha
Tumblr media Tumblr media
howdy!!
this is in fact a pov i had tucked away! vanth and paz have a mutual "dislike on sight" thing that they both nurture very intently, lol.
enjoy!
(set between chapters 34 and 40, after boba and paz get into it while din is on a job in mos eisley but before din rocks up to mos pelgo in ch 40 rocking 2008-era breakup hits.)
in which there is a hard day’s work.
Paz had been in Mos Pelgo for forty-five minutes when the Marshal breezed by and shoved a shovel into Paz’s hands.
“New bantha pen needs put in,” said the Marshal. He had a cheerful, sturdy sort of energy about him, the Marshal, and Paz could already tell that he and Cobb Vanth weren’t going to be friends. “You need directions there, or are you good to get started?”
Paz stared at the Marshal. He was so surprised by the man’s presumption that he couldn’t think to do anything else.
He wants me to… dig a fence?
Paz had never done that before. He’d never been asked.
He still hadn’t been asked to help dig a fence, actually. He had been told. The Marshal – expected it.
Paz scowled. This was no way to treat a guest. Of course Paz intended to pay the Marshal and his little town – if the dusty collection of white buildings and parched bean fields could be called a town – back for sheltering the kids. Strill and Jaig were already at work. Strill had gone to hunt and Jaig had volunteered himself for the watchman’s roster.
Kark, the kids were probably already working too – Kieran and Took were industrious sorts, properly raised, and while Mirda was probably planning a series of tricks to play on Mos Pelgo’s people, she’d be helping her older siblings knit or mend or pick polta beans too. She was a good kid.
But all of that help – Paz’s family had volunteered. Had offered it. As was right and proper, since Vanth and his kin were giving Paz and his shelter. Paz had even planned to join in. He’d just wanted a few minutes to rest his karking leg. Fett had tackled Paz around the middle with all the strength and impact of an irritated ronto.
Vanth was looking at Paz with a strange light dancing in his eyes. He wasn’t much to look at, the Marshal. Lean and stringy, underfed, more like a half-starved voorpak than a loth-wolf. His hair was iron-grey but it was impossible to guess at how old Vanth really was. He looked like one good hit would snap him in half, but Paz had heard Din talk about this man. Din liked him. There must’ve been more to Vanth, underneath all the sand and that ridiculous red bandana.
Paz kept a loose grip on the shovel and narrowed his eyes.
He thinks this is funny, he realized.
Vanth was laughing at him. That was the strange light. He was –
“What,” Paz said, deliberately slow, “am I supposed to do with this?”
“Well, it’s called a shovel,” the Marshal said, helpful-sweet. “You dig with it.”
Paz’s fingers tightened. The shovel’s wooden handle creaked. “I know what a shovel is,” Paz said.
“Sure you do,” the Marshal agreed. Paz fantasized very briefly about cracking him over the head with the shovel. Not hard enough to kill him, of course. It’d be rude of Paz to murder his host. But hard enough to make a point.
Hard enough to knock that look out of his eyes, Paz thought.
He didn’t know why Vanth was looking at him like that. Like Paz had personally done Vanth some wrong, and now Vanth was eager to see Paz pay him back in blood.
Well, maybe not blood, Paz thought. He was a guest, after all. In embarrassment, maybe.
If this aruetii thought he could embarrass Paz, who’d very recently broken his own dikut’la leg by falling off a cliff he should have been paying more attention to, well.
Kebbun nynir lenedat dush’la, Paz thought. He’d picked up a fair bit of mando’a from the kids. Paz still wasn’t sure he had much use for the language, but it did have some handy turns of phrase.
He’s trying to hit the wrong target.
Paz wasn’t embarrassed by a day of honest labor. He had built coverts from the ground up. Digging a bantha pen would be – it would be nothing.
(Granted, Paz had never set up a new covert while quite this sore; in addition to his bad leg’s persistent ache, Paz’s head hurt too, his ears still ringing, and he thought that Boba Fett might have cracked one of his ribs.
Paz was staunchly sure that he was going to be fine.)
He tightened his grip on the shovel and looked Vanth in the eye.
“Where to I start?” Paz asked, and he did enjoy the flash of answering surprise in Vanth’s eyes, just a little. The Marshal hadn’t been expecting Paz to agree.
It had been a hard year. Paz would take his victories, few and small as they were these days, where he could find them.

How is your version of the Monster High movies different from the canon? Like, what’s your version of Why Do Ghouls Fall in Love, Escape From Skull Shores, Boo York, Scaris: City of Frights, Fright On, Ghouls Rule, Friday Night Frights, and 13 Wishes? I would LOVE to hear how you would rewrite them for your Reimagined series!! Suddenly, she, Clawdeen, Cleo, Deuce and Johnny get pulled into a fairytale maze where they run into the students of Ever After High, Raven Queen, Apple White, Maddie Hatter, Briar Beauty and Sparrow Hood, trying to stop The Evil Queen, Raven's mother, from enslaving Monster High. As if that's not enough, a magical stream swaps the Monsters with the Fairytale students. And who's this mysterious Euna?
Main Cast : Draculaura. Raven Queen. Clawdeen Wolf. Maddie Hatter. Cleo De Nile. Apple White. Deuce Gorgon. Briar Beauty. Johnny Spirit. Sparrow Hood. The Evil Queen. Euna.
And that's all I have so far. Of course there's stuff happening in between. Like the Bloom and Gloom and Freak Du Chic. But this is what I have so far.

The “How Caroline would have been in Season 1 of The Originals” breakdown that a few people asked me to do.
First go read the breakdown I wrote about how Caroline joined TO!. Caroline is not in the first half of TO because she is dealing with all the stuff in TVD that would eventually lead to her coming to TO!
Buckle up, cuz this is LONG and it only covers Season 1.
Most importantly.NO MAGIC BABY.
Klaus comes to NOLA because he learns his adoptive son Marcel is still alive. He sees Marcel running NOLA as a king and feels betrayed that Marcel let him believe that he has been dead for a century. Marcel is less than welcoming to Klaus, believing that Klaus left him to die back in the day. Klaus starts a war, edged on by the witches, who cannot practice magic.
Jane-Ann D. is still alive. (no baby, no need to do the spell that got her killed) Klaus makes a deal with them to take down Marcel. War breaks out. Sophie and Jane-Ann are trying to get Monique back through Davina by completing the Harvest. Plus, Klaus always had a thing for witches back in the TVD (remember Greta and Maddox?) so they develop an alliance.
The Davina storyline is pretty much the same. Hidden in the attic. Klaus daggers Elijah….
Rebekah comes to town to find Elijah just like in the show.
Hayley comes to town because she learned that her parents were part of the NOLA pack- that Tyler small storyline happens here but with Hayley instead. Klaus crushes her for the betrayal back in TVD that lead to 12 Hybrids being captive. He has Sophie and Jane-Ann curse Hayley to be a wolf every day except on the night of the full moon; like the rest of the pack.
Cami is a character, but Marcel is in love with her, so Klaus uses her as a pawn, toying with Marcel. Literally, I imagine Klaus keeping Cami as a prisoner or something; more or less with compulsion and not actually held captive in a dungeon. Not in the, forget me unless you see me way, but kill yourself if Marcel or Father Kiernan step out of line kind of compulsion. Cami does try and see the goodness in Klaus and developed a stock-holm syndrome type deal with him. This also leads Klaus to holding the human faction by the throat because Father Kiernan, Cami’s uncle, is head of it.
The whole romance drama between Rebekah and Marcel happens and that leads to them trying to overthrow Klaus and it all comes to head with Klaus taking back NOLA.
Now, this is where Caroline comes in.
Remember when Klaus goes to MF to see Katherine die? Yeah, instead it was because he learned that Caroline turned her humanity off. He goes and an emotionless Caroline comes back with him.
Caroline comes to town and really does not give two shits about anything. She kills who she wants and when she wants. She is a GIANT bitch to Rebekah (who Klaus has not forgiven for siding with Marcel). Elijah tries to get her emotions to turn back on, by telling her of his relationship with Celeste and that whole affair, Caroline does not care. Klaus actually enjoys Caroline this way and teaches her to embrace this part.
Caroline tries to seduce Klaus, but he says he won’t have sex with her again until her emotions are back on.
Cami is a prisoner of Klaus’s and Caroline likes to toy with her. Cami tries to psychoanalyze Caroline. Caroline does not give a shit and basically toys with Cami just to prove to her that Klaus can’t be fixed. Davina is helping Cami fight the compulsion that Klaus has her under.
All the while Klaus and emotionless Caroline are still having this dance of will they or wont they?-but with murder and chaos.
The Harvest takes place and Monique rises from the dead; continuing on with Sophie and Jane-Ann’s storyline.
Monique does not kill Sophie, but instead Jane-Anne; her mother. This sends Sophie into a depression. No. I don’t kill Sophie.
Then Genevieve comes to town.
Does Klaus have sex with Genevieve? Yes. But here is the kicker, Caroline doesn’t care. She actually then has sex with Genevieve herself, while Klaus watches. They use Genevieve as another layer for their twisted dance of whether or not they will give in to one another.
But Klaus wants Caroline’s emotions on first.
Now, the storyline that we learn about Rebekah and Marcel summoning Mikael and Klaus loses his shit in the graveyard? Still all happens with one change. Remember how I said Rebekah and Caroline hate each other- that comes to terms here. Elijah is the angel on Klaus’s shoulder telling him to spare his sister while Caroline is telling him to kill her. Emotionless remember.
Klaus doesn’t kill Rebekah but does set her free. Klaus then puts Marcel in The Garden; unable to forgive him for this betrayal.
Elijah asks Caroline why she would push Klaus towards killing his sister and she tells him that it’s because she doesn’t want to feel something for Klaus; thus her emotions turn back on. It would be easier if he hated her.
Ladies and gentlemen, Caroline is slowly starting to feel something….but it’s like dimmed.
The Francesca, werewolf, storyline is still going on in the background.
Elijah and Celeste are a bigger story here. I imagine that instead of him falling for Hayley, we dive more into this relationship throughout the series.
Caroline and Sophie bond over their shared pain. Sophie slowly becomes the first real friend Caroline starts making in NOLA outside of Klaus. Sophie starts practicing magic more than she had previously (remember prior to the Harvest, Sophie really didn’t use magic)
Shortly after this, Father Kieran dies much like in the show. Caroline is present for it and Cami believes that Caroline killed him. She didn’t actually do this, but Cami is convinced. They have the funeral and Caroline is with Klaus much like in the show. Elijah brings Cami to the funeral and she watches Klaus and Caroline, walk arm and arm down the street. Between believing that Caroline killed her uncle and her feelings for Klaus, Cami is enraged.
Cami goes to Davina and they both make a deal with Geneviève. Cami helps Genevieve retrieve the final white oak stake from Klaus’s possession, thinking that it will lead to only Caroline’s death.
Genevieve came back from the dead because Mama Original on The Other Side wants to kill her children. Surprise Surprise.  Because remember, no magical baby. Genevieve preforms a ritual during the full moon, one written by Esther on the Other Side, to kill an Original.
During the ritual, Caroline is forced to watch as Klaus is slowly being killed. However, it’s not Marcel who saves the day in (he is in the Garden remember), but it’s actually Hayley. It’s a full moon, so she is in her human form. She hears that something is going down and saves Klaus by killing Genevieve and Monique and the third harvest witch. This also causes Celeste’s spirit to vanish. Elijah torn apart by Celest’s betrayal.
Hayley wants to make a deal to be human again, Klaus agrees to help the werewolves, but conveniently leaves her out of the deal.
Caroline’s emotions are turned on full force and when she realizes that it’s because she didn’t want Klaus to die. She has real feelings for him, which she knew about but with her grief she couldn’t focus on it. There is a scene where Caroline breaks down in Klaus’s arms over everything.
Davin is angry that the plot with Genevieve did not work, come up with plan B. She joins forces with Francesca. Making good on the deal he made with Hayley, Klaus agrees to create moonlight rings. Since Davina is a harvest witches and Sophie is still in the middle of a depressive episode, she do it; which backfires on him. Klaus is weakened by the moonlight rings.
Caroline is furious at what happened and blames Cami (it was her fault that they had the white oak stake in the first place). Caroline says that since Cami’s uncle is dead and Marcel is in the garden, Cami has been rendered useless and kills her. No, Cami coming back as a vampire….she just dies.
Which in turn angers Davina who built a friendship with Cami and wants Marcel out of the Garden.
Klaus is weakened by the moonlight rings. Caroline, who has full range of her emotions, calls Rebekah to tell her what happened. Caroline apologizes for being a giant bitch to her. While nothing is perfect, the two come to an understanding.
The season ends with the werewolves in power, Klaus weakened, Elijah mourning Celeste (again), Caroline finally grieving her mom and everything she has done, Sophie grieving over the loss of Monique and Jane-Ann, Davina pissed off because Marcel is in the Garden and Cami is dead, Hayley is still a werewolf full time, only human during the full moon, Marcel is in the Garden and Rebekah is still not in town.

Hi! I really like your blog! I recently became interested in arthurian literature, after studying it in university. So far I’ve only read older texts because it’s what was assigned for the class. What modern book would you recommend?
It all depends on your preferences! Regarding what I would recommend, my preferences tend to lie on Malory-like novels, instead of historical ones or completely fantasy ones. I also love characters focused novels.
I listed here the novels I read and you can find my reviews on my goodreads but in the meantime....
My absolutely top 20 novels, my absolutely favorite ones are:
Idylls of the Queen (Karr): detective novel. Kay and Mordred investigate the whole affair of the poisoned apple, while Guinevere stands accused of the deed. It also has a great Morgana
The Winter Prince (Wein): on the shorter side, this is a historical novel which is basically a character study on Mordred and his jealousy towards Arthur’s legitimate son and daughter.
Corbenic (Catherine Fisher): a modern reincarnation story about Percival and the quest for the Holy Grail
Exiled from Camelot (Baldry Fisher): my guilty pleasure. Hurt/comfort story about Kay and what happened when he found an enemy in Loholt, Arthur’s son.
Persia Woolley’s Guinevere trilogy: This is my favorite of the Guinevere novels
Here Lies Arthur (Reeve): a historical novel about Nimue and Percival
The Road to Avalon (Wolf): this is a love story between Arthur and Morgana, divided in different povs.
Gawain (Gwen Rowley): I know the cover looks horrible, but this is actually a great reinterpretation of Gawain and Ragnelle.
Gerald Morris’ The Squire’s Tales series is an amazing series of parody arthurian novels. They can pretty much be read as independent books, and the book #3 is my favorite.
The Once and Future King (White): this is a classic and probably doesn’t need an introduction
The Pendragon (Christian): a rare historically-leaning novel about Bedivere
The Three Captains (Treece): this one is based on the Welsh texts and Arthur and Mordred are friends and companions instead of relatives (and protagonists).
Morgana (Michel Rio): if you know French or Italian, this is a superb novel about Morgana’s plotting against Arthur
The Forgotten Sister (Kieran Higgins): a rare novel about Arthur’s third sister Elaine
Down the long wind (Bradshaw): This was one of the first arthurian novels I’ve ever read and I remember enjoying it immensely. It focuses on Gawain, Gawain’s squire and then Guinevere.
Sword at Sunset (Sutcliff): historical novel focusing mainly on Arthur
Bernard Cornwell’s The Warlord Chronicle: this is a long historical series from one of Arthur’s knights’ pov (comparable to Bedivere, I think). This is what got me into arthuriana! It has a lot of Galahad too, and some interesting Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot and Merlin.
Mary Stewart’s Arthurian saga is also quite good especially if you enjoy Merlin. Her Wicked Day novel is instead about Mordred.
Sarah Zettel’s series of novels are also quite interesting. There are four, each focusing on one arthurian female character (I’ve read and liked the one focusing on Laurel, and the one on Lynette, a bit less the one on Ragnelle)
The Doom of Camelot is my favorite collection of short stories

Ocean Eyes Pt. 2
Kieran had been pleasantly surprised to see that Collin’s nervousness had slipped away when his mother and sister practically fawned over him. Cleo more than their mother, saying how absolutely adorable he was and how lucky Kieran had been to find such a cutie. It also didn’t help that Cleo found werewolves fascinating, curious to their behavior and really just everything about them, some of her friends were even werewolves. She really found the ability to shift into a magnificent creature amazing and when she was younger always said how she wished she could shift into an animal. Mostly she obsessed over the thought of being able to shift into a cheetah and even lived with a clan of cheetah snifters in Africa while she was there during the 6 months.
Collin took everything in stride, answering all his sister’s ridiculous questions and even ignored comments made from his father. It was about a half an hour into the conversation when his father called him to leave the room so they could talk.
“You’re sister is smitten over him.”
Kieran wasn’t sure how he was to respond so he just sort of shrugged his shoulders, “What’s not to love about him?”
His father’s next statement was not a reply to his question, “Kieran, you know your position in this clan and while having a male werewolf as a mate won’t necessarily hinder that, you need to have children to carry on the king cheetah demon genes.”
Kieran crossed his arms, “Father, I just met the kid this morning, give us time to adjust, see where we stand and let us decide how our relationship to going to work. Even if Collin liked kids and possible thought of having some in the future, he’s only 18, still a child himself. T ell me why you are in such a hurry for me to have a child when it isn’t even guaranteed that the child will be a king cheetah demon. Can’t you be happy for me and for once try and not control me, to make me into a test subject? I never wanted to be the leader which is why I stood down at the wedding and didn’t challenge you. You’re just going to have to accept the fact that if Collin doesn’t want to have children or doesn’t want me to have children whether or not we keep it means I will not have one and respect Collin’s wished. It’s not like we’re going anywhere anytime soon, why the rush? You only just told me about the engagement last month, you agreed to it just the night before without even asking me and yes, I went along with it to make you happy but I realized sometime after that it wasn’t going to make me happy. Now, Collin is my top priority, not producing children for the clan or being on your good side.”
Kieran didn’t let his father explain himself or say anything in his defense and went back into the room to be with Collin. He sat right back down beside the pup, making sure Collin was curled into his side and he wrapped his arm around Collin’s waist possessively. His mother nor sister said anything and continued the conversation and his father never came back into the room.
3
“Cyprian and Vanessa will be joining us for dinner before heading for their honeymoon, that’s not going to be an issue is it?”
Kieran narrowed his eyes, “Why would that be an issue?” he questions and he glanced at Cleo who mouthed the word “dad” and he knew he wasn’t going to like where this was going to head.
“While you were getting Collin from up-stairs, he told me Cyprian had stolen Vanessa from you and that you brought Collin as a cover-up and you’re pretending Collin is going to be your mate to upset him so he wouldn’t clan leader.”
Kieran felt Collin tense beside him and he frowned, “No mom, that’s not true, I had no intention of marrying Vanessa in the first place and I was going to call off the wedding a few nights before when I found out that Cyprian and Vanessa had a particular evening together so everything that happened that day I had planned. Except for Collin of course, I’m his mate and my demon had already accepted him. This is not a ploy to upset father or make it so he doesn’t make me clan leader but Keir is more suitable for the lead, he is the oldest.”
“But honey,” his mom started, “While Keir is first born, you are a king cheetah demon which makes you stronger than him and all king cheetah demons in the past have become clan leaders whether they are first born or not. I know your father wants you to have children as soon as possible while I don’t mind waiting and will side with you where you two stand but please don’t upset him anymore than you have done so already.”
“While I appreciate that mom, I told father that if in the future that if Collin doesn’t want kids or me to have a child at all than I will respect his wishes and not father a child. Collin is much too young for that kind of decision right now and I wasn’t going to bring this subject up until Collin was comfortable enough to talk about it.” Kieran tightened his hold around Collin’s waist, “I told him I didn’t want to be clan leader and questioned why everything had become so sudden. I wasn’t even brought up as clan leader, Keir was and if I became clan leader now, no one would respect me even though I’m a king cheetah demon. They will follow Keir because he is the first born, it’s the way it’s always been and the only reason most king cheetah demons have become clan leaders is because other demons in line stand down and let them become clan leaders and if they step down, no one can say anything about and have no choice but to follow them whether they like it or not.”
Naomi leaned forward slightly, eyes narrowed as she watched her son carefully, “Would you become clan leader to protect Collin?”
Kieran narrowed his eyes in response, pupils shifting to slits and he glanced down at Collin. The young pup was now watching him with nervous eyes, “Of course I would and would do it in a heartbeat but I don’t see how that situation would come up. My business is none of the clans and like dad is going to have to do, they’re going to have to get over it.” He stood up, pulling Collin along with him, “Call us when dinner is ready.”
3
Kieran dragged Collin to the back patio which was the place he always found himself going to as a child when his family was too much for him. He interlaced his fingers with Collin’s, squeezing tightly. He took in a deep breath to calm his nerves and it worked partially but when Collin squeezed his hand back, he felt all his stress disappear and he was able to relax.
“I’m sorry Collin for dragging you into this, my family can be a little up-tight about some things and paranoid they aren’t going to be the leaders of the clan anymore. They just want what’s best for the clan and they truly think I am what’s best because I’m a king cheetah and that I’ll be a good leader but they tend to forget about the things that are right in front of them. However, just like I didn’t want to take Vanessa away from Cyprian, I don’t want to take leadership from Keir who I know deserves it more than I do.”
“You should be able to do what makes you happy.” Collin said as he met Kieran’s surprised gaze, “Life isn’t as long as you think it is, anything can happen and you don’t want to regret anything.”
Kieran chuckled, “Such wise words from such a young pup.” He smiled at the pout that formed on Collin’s face, “Now that you’ve caught a glimpse into how my life has been. I know growing up probably wasn’t the greatest, how was your childhood?”
Collin frowned and looked away, “When I was younger, I was treated fine, treated like all the other pups in my pack but when I finished elementary school, it changed. I was suddenly the outcast of the pack by the adults, the other pups still invited me out but it was rare since I had to do all the chores around the house. I had to vacuum, dust, do the dishes and yard work when there was do to and I still had to do my homework afterwards so I wouldn’t get to bed until midnight or 1 in the morning and there were no excuses if I was too tired to go to school the next morning. Then, when my younger siblings were born I had to take care of them whenever I was asked, no choice over the matter. If I were to ever say no, I was kicked out to sleep with the dogs, winter or summer. They didn’t care about me and I didn’t even know why until I was 16 and my oldest brother told me.” He squeezed Kieran’s hand as he begun to tremble, “It was because I was a white wolf and I didn’t even know they were kicking me out of the pack until last night and when I asked why, they told me because white wolves are a shame on the pack and would bring bad luck if kept after their first shift. That’s all I was told, no one talked to me after that, didn’t even help me through my first shift and when I had shifted, they chased me out. Feeling lost and practically unwanted, I roamed for a bit, knowing this was what I was going to feel for the rest of my life when I smelled you. I didn’t even know what that smell meant until I saw you in the hospital. I was afraid that just like my family didn’t want me that you wouldn’t want me either.”
As Kieran listened, he could feel himself getting angrier and angrier, his demon feeling the same. He couldn’t understand how anybody could treat their family that way. It wasn’t as if Collin asked to be born a white wolf. He had to hold back a growl when Collin said they made him sleep outside and he was sure the young pup had found that out the hard way the first time he said no and when Collin began to shake, he had to stop himself from pulling Collin into his arms. He needed to let Collin finish and tell him everything. He never knew the werewolves would do something like this, he always thought that the pack and staying together was the most important to them and he didn’t think the color of a wolf’s fur played such a huge part. It was then Collin stopped talking did he smell the salt of tears and this time he couldn’t hold back a low growl and he pulled Collin into his arms and held him tightly.
“Baby, I’m so sorry. To be chased out by your family isn’t anything anyone should have to go through and you have no idea how glad I am I chose to go down that road instead of going through town and don’t even think I wouldn’t want you. I’d want you no matter the situation and I wouldn’t never make you do something you wouldn’t want to do and I’ll always be here for you.” He held on even tighter when Collin buried his face in his chest, hesitantly returning the embrace. He’d do anything now to see the pup smiling and being happy. There was nothing he’d trade Collin for, Collin was now forever his.
When Collin calmed down and stopped trembling, Kieran pulled back to Collin’s face and he pushed the pup’s bangs out of his face. Collin’s eyes were red as well as his cheeks, stilling looking as beautiful as the first time he saw the young wolf.
“You still tired?” Kieran asked, “Dinners probably not for a few more hours, would you like to take a nap?”
Collin nodded in response and as if on cue, he yawned softly.
“Let’s head back to my room then.” Kieran grasped Collin’s hand once more, interlacing their fingers together and lead him back to his room. As Collin stood awkwardly in the doorway, Kieran grabbed a comforter from the closet. Since he didn’t live in this house anymore, simple sheets laid on the bed and his blankets stayed in the closet.
“Shut the door and come in, I promise I won’t bite unless you want me too.” Kieran said with a wink and Collin’s face flushed red and he looked away. Kieran chuckled at Collin’s reaction, “Come here.” He said as he held out his hand.
After shutting the door, Collin shuffled over and took Kieran’s hand and he tensed when Kieran brought his hand up and kissed the back of it.
“I know how werewolves are when they first meet their mate but I’m not going to do anything until you’re ready okay?”
Collin smiled softly and nodded his head, “Thank you.” He whispered.
Kieran returned the smile, raising his hand to cup Collin’s cheek. Collin’s eyes fluttered shut at the touch and Kieran leaned down. He kissed Collin softly, just brushing his lips against the pup’s in a chaste kiss, “Get some sleep.” He whispered. Collin’s eyes opened and met his gaze, blue eyes hazed over and he nearly melted when Collin tilted his head and whispered something softly in return.
Stay with me
Kieran kissed Collin once more, “Anything you want baby. Get comfortable and I’m going to shut the curtains.”
Kieran pulled away, watching as Collin climbed onto the bed and cocooned in the blankets. When the day started, he never thought he’d be sharing a bed with a cute werewolf pup or being said werewolf pup’s mate but he was happy. He was getting quite tired of coming home to an empty bed and his demon had been getting restless of wanting a mate. When Collin poked his head of the blankets, watching his with curious blue eyes, he knew the young pup was just what he needed and was stunningly perfect.
Collin has nearly fall asleep right away when Kieran pulled him to his chest, their legs intertwined together and Collin used Kieran’s arm as a pillow, burying his face into Kieran’s chest. Kieran had his other arm over Collin’s waist, holding him close. The young pup fit perfectly against him and he looked peaceful sleeping. No one would have guessed what Collin had gone through seeing him like this and while they had a long way to go to get Collin out of his habits and getting used to a different life style, he knew the pup would pull through.
3
It was a couple hours later that Kieran awoke to knocking on his door and Cleo’s voice came through the door, telling him that dinner was ready. He didn’t mean to fall sleep since he hadn’t been tired in the least and he had been watching Collin sleep. However, it had become warm under the blanket and with the mix of Collin’s scent and the soft sound of Collin breathing that had lured himself to sleep. If it came to this every night, he wouldn’t mind sleeping.
Seeing that the pup was still sleeping, Kieran gently shook Collin’s shoulder and softly said his name a few times to wake the sleeping pup. Soon enough Collin shifted slightly and his eyes fluttered open, letting out a whine of displeasure, Collin pulled the blanket to cover his face.
“It’s time to get up baby, dinner is ready.” Kieran whispered in Collin’s ear.
Collin’s response was to roll over and pull the blanket now over his head, mumbling that he wasn’t hungry. Kieran sat up and jerked the blankets from Collin’s grasp, smiling when Collin shivered and tucked his legs closer. He leaned over the other, resting a hand on Collin’s waist, “There is no way you’re not hungry. You haven’t eaten the entire time you’ve been with me and that’s been all day.”
Collin opened his eyes and looked up at Kieran, “I’m afraid of making things worse with your father.”
“Don’t worry about my father, he’s not important and I’d never let him hurt you and just between us, I think you could take him. You might be young but young werewolves don’t know when to give up and are stubborn, which you are being right now,” Kieran ruffled Collin’s hair and kissed him on the temple, “Just ignore him and if he says anything to upset you just leave the room and I’ll be right behind you.”
Collin only nodded in reply and he sat up, stretching. He was still unsure about a lot of things but his wolf was happy and he felt safe being by Kieran’s side.
Kieran finally convinced Collin to come down and eat dinner and in a few minutes they were all seated at the dining room table. Cleo and his mother sat across from them, his father at the end of the table beside him. Cleo was practically bouncing in his seat to ask Collin more questions but a stern look from him kept them at bay, for now.
“We weren’t sure what you liked Collin so we had our cooks cook about a little of everything. So don’t hold back, you must be hungry.”
Kieran reached over and rested his hand on Collin’s thigh, smiling down at the nervous pup who jumped at his touch and came out of his little world. He knew Collin was intimidated by his father but once he learned to ignore the older demon, he’d be just fine.
Collin smiled back at Cleo, “Thank you, I appreciate that. I’ve learned to eat whatever was offered so I’m not picky.”
“I have no doubts about that.” Cleo said, “But I don’t think you’d be too fond of most of the dishes we’ll be eating.”
Kieran felt Collin tense and he shot a glare to Cleo, “Don’t make Collin anymore uncomfortable than he already is. It’s no secret about what we eat but it doesn’t need to be explained.” He turned to his mother, “Where are Cyprian and Vanessa?” he asked.
“They should be here soon but they have made Cleo aware that we should not wait for them. Collin, anything on the gold plates are safe but don’t be afraid to try anything else. I know some werewolves have taken a liking to what demons eat.”
Kieran growled, “Mother, don’t say something like that to him. You also know what happens to werewolves who do that. They become so addicted that they lose their minds and become feral, killing and eating anything in their path until they are stopped. No better than us ourselves and any demon who go mad. Don’t try that again.” He wasn’t buying his mother’s innocent smile and he ignored the smug look on his father’s face. Sometimes he just didn’t understand his mother, one moment on his side and then switching to the next and he couldn’t help but assume it was the demon in her.
“Don’t worry Collin,” Cleo chimed in, “You’d have to eat human for every meal for like a year to get to that point so one little taste wouldn’t hurt you.”
Kieran hissed, baring his teeth and his eyes bleed into red, now Collin looked pale and nauseous. “Can we not talk about this right now?”
“He’s going to have to learn eventually, why not sooner than later?” Kieran’s father questioned.
“Don’t mean he needs to find out right this minute.” Kieran snapped, “It’s not as if we eat that at every meal but only on special occasions such as this one. One more word about this or anything along the lines of making Collin feel unwanted or out casted, I will leave the clan for good. I’m not going to play these games with you guys.” He growled. He nearly stood and left during the now silence in the dining room but that was when Cyprian and Vanessa made their presence known.
“It’s nice to see the family getting along.” Cyprian said cheerfully. He placed his hand on the table, leaning towards Collin, a wide grin on his face, “Just ignore them when they’re fighting, you’ll get used to it soon enough. It’ll probably be like this until our older brother takes over the clan which should be soon.” He turned his smile to his father’s sharp look and didn’t anything else about it, “Food looks good, let’s eat.” He added quickly.
Vanessa sent a quick wink and smile in Collin’s direction and Kieran was happy to see Collin smile back in return. Vanessa moved to sit beside Cleo and Cyprian took a seat surprisingly next to Collin beside Vanessa, giving the young pup another small grin.
The dinner was mostly quiet after that with a tense atmosphere, Cleo and Vanessa doing most of the small chit-chat while the rest of them ate slowly, saying only things relevant at the moment of the girls’ conversation.
“By the way, mom,” Cleo started as she turned her head towards her, “Where is Keir, shouldn’t he be here by now? I haven’t seen him all day.”
Kieran didn’t miss his mother’s eyes darkening before she answered, which meant Keir was doing something reckless. Keir wasn’t nearly the goodie two shoes, perfect son he played off as in front of the clan. He was sure everyone knew when he was actually doing but choose not to talk about it and ignore it.
“Keir is out with his friends for the evening and will be back in the morning.” Naomi answered.
Out with friends was code for leading a gang of demons, Keir was the leader of the biggest gang of demons in the city and was one of the best in the state. Every demon wanting to join a gang wanted to be in Keir’s. Kieran had a feeling that Keir was only doing it to show their father that he was a good leader and deserved to be the next leader of the clan. Kieran knew they were going to be stubborn and demand that he take the role as leader of the clan and if it comes down to that, he’ll take the position but after a few days maybe even a couple of weeks, he’ll figure out a way to mess something up, have Keir fix it and then he’ll be asked to step down so Keir could become leader. It was still a plan in progress, only if he had no way out to become clan leader but as long as in the end it goes to Keir, he didn’t really care how it happened.
After that, dinner went by smoothly, not nearly as expected yet Kieran couldn’t complain. He assumed his father would make more comments and degrade Collin anyway possible however he had been outnumbered by the ones at the table who liked Collin and would stand up for him and the older demon had to have known that.
Kieran lead Collin down the hallway to the living room once they were excused from the table, “Did you get enough to eat? I know there wasn’t much to choose from.”
“I did, thank you.” Collin smiled up at Kieran but it didn’t reach his eyes and he looked almost fearful and Kieran knew why.
Kieran sat Collin down on the couch and he knelled in front of him and placed his hands on Collin’s knees, locking his eyes with the young werewolf. “I know what you’re thinking and it’s not true. Yes, I do eat humans, sometimes it’s unavoidable but I do not excess eat which I’m sure you’ve heard of. I only eat humans on special occasions such as this one and if you want me to stop or not eat them in front of you, I can and it won’t be an issue.”
Collin’s fear wavered for a moment, “But don’t you have to eat humans or you’ll go crazy?”
Kieran smiled softly, “Yes and no. We are not innocent creatures and unfortunately even in these times, we have not evolved from our beginnings. Once a demon mates though that need becomes almost nonexistence then I’ll only have to eat once every couple of years or a little throughout the year on special occasions.”
Collin’s eyes were wide, as if expecting Kieran to tell him more. Kieran wondered what Collin’s pack actually told him about demons. He squeezed Collin’s knees, “It’s whatever you want me to do baby, okay?”
Collin nodded, “I don’t mind really, it just took me by surprise. If we mate then-”
Kieran raised an eyebrow, “If?” he questioned, cutting Collin off and Collin flushed red, “There is no if darling, we will mate and when that is, is all up to you.”
Glancing away, Collin shrunk back, “That makes me feel a bit pressured, I feel bad for making you wait.”
“Sweetie,” Kieran raised his hands and cupped Collin’s cheeks, “Don’t feel that way baby. I don’t want you to feel pressured or rushed. I told you I’ll wait as long as I have too. Whenever you are ready.”
Collin looked up curiously, “How will I know I’m ready? How did you know?”
Kieran actually felt his face grow hot at the question, unsure how to answer it. He wasn’t a virgin but he’d never had sex with a guy and even then, he could still count on one hand with the girls he’s slept with. Flustered, he sat back a bit and ran a hand through his hair and he moved to sit on the couch beside Collin. “I’m sorry baby, I don’t really know how to answer that. It’s just something that comes naturally and you’ll just know, okay?”
Collin looked sullen for a moment before turning his head forward and he brought his legs up onto the couch, pulling his knees to his chest and he leaned over to rest his head on Kieran’s shoulder. “Do you live here?” he questioned, changing the subject.
Kieran shifted his arm behind Collin’s head, resting his forearm on the pup’s shoulder. “No, I live in another town. This is my parents’ home, the house I grew up in. It’s the clan leader’s house so whoever is the clan leader they get to live in here. Which is another reason they’re afraid of not being in the leadership position one way or another, they’d have to leave this place.”
Collin hummed in response but said nothing and he fully relaxed, closing his eyes. He did hope they didn’t stay here much longer.

Ocean Eyes
Kieran paid no attention to the other guests waiting with him in the waiting room and who were staring at him like he was the worst person on the planet and if anything happened they’d have his head. It wasn’t like he asked the dog to run out in front of his car or that happened to be the exact moment he decided to answer his phone to yell at his father to stop calling him. It was none of their concern and they should be grateful he even brought the creature to the vet to the get the attention it needed when he was already running late.
Ignoring the vibrating in his pants pocket, he shifted his eyes to the closed door the vets rushed the animal through, shouting to stop the bleeding. Which was another issue he was concerned with, how was he going to get blood out of the rental car’s back seat? If didn’t he’d have to pay some serious cash and have a not so much fun conversation with not only the rental place but with his father.
It’d only been an hour since he had arrived but he was already tapping his foot in annoyance, not because he just wanted to leave but because he was anxious to find out the condition of the dog. He hoped he didn’t kill the poor thing and then he’d have to deal with more than bloody back seats but a room full anger people.
Another hour passed by before he was finally called through the now open door and he ignored the strange, suspicious looks directed at him as he left the room, following the vet assistance. Not that they could blame them, it wasn’t just a dog that he hit.
“Mr. Ryder,” The young vet assistance began when the door closed behind him. “Thank you so much for bringing him here right away. If it wasn’t for you doing that, he probably wouldn’t have made it. So if you follow me, I can take you to him.”
As Kieran followed her, he reached into his pocket and put his phone on mute, tired of feeling the stupid piece of technology going off every two seconds and buzzing in his pocket. Every door they went past granted him more than just suspicious looks but more like glares from the people he saw and while it confused him, he ignored them and soon stopped looking in the all the rooms they past and he kept his eyes forward. Then, they finally made it to the last room at the back of the clinic.
However, when the girl opened the door to the room the dog was being held in, there was no white dog anymore but a young boy sat on the exam table and he had pure white hair, a major contrast to his own black hair and the prettiest blue eyes he had ever seen.
“Macy! Get him out of here!”
Kieran held up his hand to stop them from kicking him out. He couldn’t blame them for not wanting him to see the young boy since he had been hiding his power and masking his scent before he even got here because he knew what kind of vet clinic it was but right now he just wanted to apologize to the boy for hitting him. Moving over the examination table, without breaking eye contact with the young boy he grabbed one of the boy’s hands and watched warily, seeing as the boy’s eyes widened with what looked like fear.
“I can’t tell you how sorry I am for hitting you. Are you okay?” he asked. He caught the boy’s cheeks flushing red as he stuttered a reply, his eyes darting to the floor. He tilted his head, trying to catch the boy’s eyes again and he felt concerned when the other said he was okay. “Are you sure? I hit you going about 60 mph. I mean you’re a werewolf and I know they can pretty strong but you’re just a pup. I’m worried.” He ignored the silence and moved his hand to run it through the pup’s white hair, it was softer than he imagined.
“What were you doing running out into the middle of the road like that?” Kieran frowned as the boy winced when he ran his hand over a bump on the back of his head. In an hour or so it’d be gone but the fact that he had caused it in the first place and caused the pup pain now made his chest tighten.
“I’m really fine and I’m still healing so I’ll be okay in about another hour or so. I smelled something so I was following the scent and wasn’t paying attention. It was my first shift so I wasn’t thinking clearly. I’m sorry for running out in front of your car.”
“Don’t apologize,” Kieran started as he pulled his hands away, “I should have been paying attention and should have seen you a head of time to stop. There is no excuse for what I did and I’m not going to let you shake it off. What can I do to make up for it?”
The boy only shook his head, “No it’s okay, really. I’m fine.”
Kieran narrowed his eyes, standing straight, “That’s not the point. I hit you and I’m going to take responsibility.”
“But it was my fault!” The werewolf leaned forward, nearly shouting, “I wasn’t thinking clearly because I caught the scent of my mate and if I didn’t let my instincts take over, I wouldn’t have gone out into the middle of the road or I would have heard your car coming.”
Kieran was taken back by the pup’s small outburst, not expecting it and he could only tilt his head again in slight confusion, frowning. He didn’t understand why the boy wanted to take all the blame when he couldn’t blame the boy to be overwhelmed on his first shift and then smelling his mate the same day. He also wasn’t sure why he was trying to get rid of him as fast as possible and why he, himself, wasn’t just letting this go and giving the werewolf what he wanted. Something was telling him to stay and he was going to figure it out.
It was then he noticed the pup’s face with still flushed and he was trying not to make eye contact, his breathing slightly heavy and he had his knees curled to his chest now. Everything then clicked into place, why the pup wanted him to leave as soon as possible. He was being affected by his mate and didn’t want him to find out, that he was the pup’s mate.
Glancing to the other people in the room, he smiled, “Could you give us a few minutes alone, I’d like to discuss some things with him in private.” They immediately knew he knew and they watched him with careful eyes, some watching for the pup’s answer and he was relieved when he nodded his head. Reluctantly, the group of werewolves shuffled out of the room and Kieran calmly shut the door behind them.
“I’m your mate aren’t I?” Kieran started right from the get go, not really feeling the need to play game right now. He frowned when the pup nodded, turning his head away but he Kieran didn’t miss the look of sadness in those blue eyes. “Then why are you trying to get rid of me? I thought were wolves were very uptight about mates but before you tell me why, can you tell me your name?”
The pup hesitantly looked his eyes but wouldn’t meet his eyes and more stare at Kieran’s neck as he answered. “My name is Collin and you’re a demon.”
Kieran nearly rolled his eyes and instead took a step forward, “And you’re a werewolf. I’m not understanding the issue. Be glad I’m not a human to where I call you crazy and up and leave you.”
Collin shook his head and finally met Kieran’s eyes again and Kieran felt a shudder go down his spine as crystal blue eyes locked onto his own, lined with tears of frustration. Be damned his fiancé, this werewolf pup was his. Fire rolled in his belly, his head feeling light and know he knew why his instincts were telling him to stay. He ignored the urge however to pin the boy to the hospital bed, factoring in that there were eyes watching him from the small door window and Collin had just turned 18 today and the boy suddenly looked terrified, shaking like a leaf.
It had been because of his sudden outburst of power he couldn’t hold back when his demon wanted to claim the werewolf. He ran a hand through his hair, closing his eyes and took in a deep breath, pushing back his power. He needed to take things slow, very slow to calm the frightened pup, he didn’t want to scare him away already.
He was halfway surprised that other werewolves didn’t rush in when they felt his power but they were older and most likely realized what it meant and knew he didn’t mean any harm to the young pup. However, while they knew what it meant, Collin did not and probably thought Kieran was going to attack him. He was sure Collin’s instincts were telling him to run but Collin knew he had nowhere to go so he just stayed where he was, watching Kieran with scared eyes and waiting.
“I’m sorry about that pup, I promise you don’t mean any harm. Would you believe if I told you that was my demon accepting you as its mate? I didn’t mean it to be a threat, promise. I don’t want to hurt you.”
Collin stiffly nodded his head but didn’t relax in the slightest and he shifted his gaze back to the floor, “I’m sorry.” He muttered.
“What are you sorry for?” Kieran asked, taking another step towards the young pup and when he did, he could suddenly smell how anxious the pup was, it was practically rolling off him. Collin thought he was upset that he was a werewolf’s mate which the complete opposite. This is exactly what he needed and he couldn’t be happier.
Taking the leap, Kieran walked over to stand in front of Collin and he tilted the boy’s head up, his index finger under the pup’s chin. “It is very true that we are different supernatural creatures but I’m your mate for a reason and I’d like to see where this goes.” He gave a small smile for comfort to the small pup, eyes softening when Collin finally relaxed, “So how about you get dressed in the nice clothes the hospital has provided for you while I go make a phone call and then I’ll give you a ride home okay?”
So Collin couldn’t say no, he stepped back and pulled his phone from his pocket and left the room where only the doctor now stood, waiting for him. He hope the doctor wouldn’t say anything but when the man opened his mouth, he internally cringed, expecting to be chewed out about something.
“You do know what you are getting into right?” the doctor asked.
Kieran was taken back for the second time that day, “What do you mean?” he questioned.
The doctor glanced at Collin through the window of the door before looking back at Kieran, “Collin is white werewolf, pretty rare considering but they are also the outcasts of our society because they are known to bring bad luck to the pack after their first shift.”
Kieran raised an eyebrow in surprise, “If they are outcasts, then why did everyone in the waiting room looked like they wanted to kill me for hitting him?”
The doctor frowned and looked like he didn’t want to tell him the real reason, “It wasn’t because you hit him but for not killing him.”
When it sunk in what the doctor said, Kieran saw red and let out a low hiss before he could stop himself and he grabbed the doctor by the collar as his eyes shifted to a dark red hue, his pupils shifting to slits as they narrowed. The air around them suddenly felt cold Kieran saw a look of terror flash through the doctor’s eyes. “For your sake, I hope you weren’t serious right now. I know I can’t take all the werewolves in this hospital but you will the first one of few.”
The doctor said nothing more about it, shifting his eyes to look to the floor and because Kieran didn’t want to start anything more, he pushed the doctor away from him. Also because he didn’t want to upset Collin anymore,  Collin had been able to see him through the window of the door and he could smell the boy's fear again. A scent he never wanted to smell again. “Call the boy’s parents and tell them I’ll drive him home.”
“Excuse me.”
Kieran turned towards the voice and saw that it was Macy, the assistant from before.
“I just got off the phone with Collin’s parents and they told me they would rather he not be returned to them. I’m sure this is hard to understand from a demon’s perspective but werewolves have traditions and one of them is out casting out white wolves after their first shift. They bring bad luck to the pack if kept after that so they are to live in the wild as just wolves once they are able to shift for the first time. It’s not something we can just change just because of their mate or some demon. I’m sorry but if you’d like as his mate, you are allowed to sign him out but if you do, you have to take responsibility for him.”
Kieran clenched his fist and ignored the urge to hurt someone around him but who was he to say what they can and cannot so because he, as a demon, thought it was wrong. While in the demon community that had no traditions that even came close to that, they did have traditions that had to be uphold. He pushed down his demon and nodded his head, “You’re right and I apologize and I will also take responsibility for him just let me make a phone call first.”
No one said anything or made any gestures meaning that they understood so he walked off, turning on the phone’s screen. He had 62 missed called and he frowned when he saw that most of them were from his soon-to-be wife. He scrolled down to his father’s number and pressed the send button, his father answering just after the first ring.
“Do you have any idea what time it is or did you forgot you have a phone for a reason? When I call, I expect you to answer.”
Kieran turned slightly so he could lean against the wall, “Thanks dad, no are you okay first?
“You were supposed to be here almost 3 hours ago. Where the hell are you?”
“I’m going to be a bit longer, I have a few things I have to finish up where I am at, if I even decide to show up. If I don’t let Cyprian have her.”
“Kieran, we have been over this. You’re a king cheetah demon and you need to continue the bloodline for this family and unless you have found possibly another king cheetah female demon or the same status as Vanessa, you better get here in the next hour and marry Vanessa.”
Kieran nearly hissed into the phone but he held himself back, it would make things worse, “Father, I’m not going to marry her just because you want me to. I don’t even know nor have I even seen her. The one who set it all up was you without even asking me.”
“Yet you had no problem with everything until today. Tell me what happened.”
Looking down the hallway towards the room Collin waited in and he felt his demon stir, unhappy that he was not near the young werewolf.  Even if his demon decided it didn’t want to be mates with the young pup, he still wanted to be around the boy. He felt responsible now seeing as he was Collin’s mate and he would never think to leave a boy alone in the world or the wild just because of some superstition.
“Something might have happened.” He murmured into the phone and he almost didn’t want to tell the older demon for he didn’t know how his father was going to react. He knew his father wasn’t going to like it at all but he was going to have to deal with it. “I’ll be bringing him along to the wedding for everyone to meet him.
“Him?” His father said after a few moments of tense silence, “Kieran, you can’t be serious. You can’t mate with a boy. You have to have children to continue the king cheetah bloodline.”
“This isn’t up for discussion right now father. I’ll explain everything when I get down there. Just give me another hour.”
“Yes you will.” Was all his father replied before hanging up.
Kieran sighed and put his phone back into his pocket. There was no way in hell his father was going to accept this. He was never interested in Vanessa, hasn’t even seen the women and only knew she was another cheetah demon from another clan. His father really just wanted him to marry her so they could merge clans and he’d have more power essentially. He was only going along with it because his father wanted him and now that Collin had come along, this was a good chance he’d get out of the marriage.
From what he has also heard, from his oldest brother Keir, it seems his second older brother Cyprian has actually taken a liking to Vanessa and that it might just so happen that Vanessa shares the same feelings. He’d feel even more of an asshole than just marrying a girl he didn’t even have those type of feelings for and then on top of that, unwillingly and practically stealing her from his brother.
Kieran decided it wasn’t worth worrying about it anymore and he made his way to the nurse stand so he could sign Collin out so that could get out there. There was no way he’d leave Collin behind and with people who wanted him to die and would most likely kick him out the second he left. He ignored all the looks he got as he signed the papers and a few looked like they were going to say something but one look from him shut them right up and sent them scuttling out of his sight.
“Are you sure you want to do this? You don’t know what you are getting into. Mate or not, white wolves tend to bring bad luck where ever they go after their first shift.”
Kieran gently pushed the signed papers toward the young nurse to show he was done, “I appreciate the advice but I’m not the kind of demon who ups and leaves a defenseless boy by his own means or around others, of his own kind who would outcast one of their own just because of the color of their fur or superstition. Have a good day Macy.”
Kieran turned from the counter and went back to Collin’s hospital room and he was happy that they clothes the hospital gave him fit almost perfectly. The blue jeans fit but the simple white t-shirt was about 2 sizes too big and he was able to see the pup’s collarbones. He tried not to let his eyes wonder too much when he noticed Collin was shifting back and forth on his feet.
“Are you ready to go?” Kieran questioned.
“You’re not going to try and take me home are you?”
“No pup, you’re coming with me. Did you hear what we were talking about outside?” Kieran frowned as Collin nodded, eyes focused on the ground. He moved closer to Collin and ran a hand through the pup’s white hair.
“Don’t let what they say get to you okay?” Kieran tilted the boy’s head up, amber eyes looking onto blue, “Bad luck or not, I’m your mate and I’m not going anywhere unless you tell me otherwise.” His eyes softened when a flush fanned over Collin’s face.
“W-why?” Collin stuttered, “I’ll be fine one my own, find a pack of wild wolves to join and live my days as a wolf like all the other white wolves before me. Just because you’re my mate doesn’t mean you have to take responsibility for me. I don’t want to be a split second decision and then be thrown away when I get comfortable.” He shook off Kieran’s hold and intended to walk past him.
Kieran didn’t let him and he reached back, grabbing Collin’s wrist and jerked him back around. He growled lowly in his throat, his teeth elongating into fangs and the pupils of his eyes shifted into slits. He held Collin’s gaze, noticing the fear now present in the boy’s blue eyes and he tightened his hold on Collin’s wrist.
“I’m not going to lie to you, I never would have guessed I’d be a werewolf’s mate or that said werewolf was a young boy but I’m not going to let you go off into the wilderness and be killed by god knows what. You’re going to stay right here with me and I promise you, I’ll never throw you away and you’ll have to kill me if you want to get rid of me. You’re mine.”
The look in Collin’s eyes changed from fear to rage and he growled back, “Are you an idiot? I also heard you on the phone, you already have a fiance and I’ll be damned if I get turned into an experiment or a fuck boy on the side. I’d rather get killed by god knows what than have my hopes up only for them to get crushed when you’d rather mate with that woman and I get pushed off to the side. I won’t go through with that.”
Kieran released Collin hesitantly and he took half a step back, “Those weren’t my intentions at all when I decided that I didn’t want to let you go. I was going to take it slow, try my damn hardest to like you and want to eventually be mates with you and I was going to explain everything on the drive there so if you don’t want to be with your mate, turn around and walk out that door. I won’t stop you but you know what it’s like for werewolves who don’t stay with their mates. They go feral and have to be put down.”
Collin flinched and narrowed his eyes, “Yes, of course I do but it’ll feel ten times as worse if my mate throws me away in the end and then not only will my heart be broken but also my pride for being thrown away from a women. As I just said, I’d rather die then have to go through that hell. I’ve already been thrown away from my family and if my mate does the same thing, I wouldn’t be able to handle it.” Collin ended in a whisper, voice trembling and he turned his head to hide his face.
Kieran could smell the salt in the air from Collin’s tears and before he could stop himself, he pulled the boy into a hug, holding him tight. Collin struggled at first, bringing his hands up to push Kieran away but Kieran only tightened his arms around the Collin's thin frame. “Damn it Collin, stop trying to push me away. I promise I’m never letting you go, not now and certainly not ever. You are my mate just as I am yours and if you try and run, I’ll find you and never let you see the light of day again, you understand me?”
Collin went still in Kieran’s arms, pressing the palms of his hands against Kieran’s stomach just in case he needed to try and push the demon away again.
“I’m not going to marry Vanessa, no matter how much my father pushes it. I didn’t even want to marry her in the first place but I thought I had no choice and since you literally jumped into my life, I do have that choice now and I’d choose you over any women in a heartbeat. You certainly don’t give yourself enough credit for how absolutely stunning you look. When I first saw your pretty blue eyes, they took my breath away. So you are coming with me whether you like it or not, got it?” he asked and waited for Collin to reply.
Collin replied by nodding his head against Kieran’s chest and he moved his arms to wrap around Kieran’s waist in return, “If you change your mind, I’ll kill you.” He whispered, relaxing.
Kieran only smiled, burying his face into Collin’s snow white hair.
- 3 –
It was a long drive to the place where the wedding was being held and not even a quarter of the way there, Collin passed out in the passenger’s seat, face towards the window. Even over the music, he could hear the pup snoring and his arms were crossed over his stomach. Kieran didn’t blame the boy, he had quite a day already and still over half the day to go. Shifting into a werewolf for the first time, getting hit by a car, the very car your mate happened to be driving and now on your way to a demon wedding with your mate being the groom. While he couldn’t blame him, he was surprised Collin could sleep at a time like this. If he was in Collin’s shoes he would have been too anxious to sleep.
About 10 miles away or so, Kieran reached over and shook Collin gently until the pup woke up and he smiled when Collin raised his hand and tried to sneakily wipe away the drool from the corner of his mouth.
“We’ll be there soon and I wanted to stop somewhere in town to get you some clothes.”
“How long was I asleep?” Collin asked.
“About an hour and since we are almost there, I wanted to tell you that when we get to the dining hall where the wedding is being held, I don’t want you to ever leave my sight while we are there for any reason. I don’t want to give my family the chance to hurt you if you wander off and where I can’t see you. My father probably hasn’t said anything to anyone of this matter but once he hears the whole story he won’t be happy that I’ve chosen you over Vanessa and might plan a way to dispose of you which can’t happen if you’re next to me the entire time.”
Collin fidgeted in his seat and turned his head back towards the window, “Why does your dad want you to marry Vanessa, I thought demons choose their mates?”
Kieran sighed, smiling softly, “Because I’m a king cheetah demon and like white werewolves, we can be quite rare and need to continue our bloodline to have stronger demons in our clan. King cheetah demons are more likely to produce more king cheetah demons if mated to another king cheetah demon or an offspring of a king cheetah demon. However, there’s a problem with my father’s plan, I had absolutely no intentions of marrying Vanessa in the first place whether you showed up her not. I’ve been told she has her eye on someone else and what kind of man would I be if I took a women from the man she loved and besides I’ve got my eye on someone as well and I’m sure Vanessa would be just as upset if she found out she was taking someone that is falling for another.” He caught the blush on Collin’s face, the tips of his ears turning red before he shifted his eyes back to the road.
“How can you? You don’t even know me.” Collin muttered, ducking his head.
Kieran only chuckled already reaching over and moving Collin’s arm so he could interlace their fingers together. Collin made a move to jerk his hand away but Kieran squeezed his hand and Collin stilled, curling his fingers to hold Kieran’s hand back, his face now the color of a cherry blossom flower. The pup had a lot to learn.
3
It was well over the hour he promised when Kieran showed up in the dining hall with Collin right behind him, dressed in more appropriate clothing than what the hospital provided him. It flattered him more as well, the blue tie bringing out the blue in his eyes and fitting him properly, not that he would be wearing it for very long.
Kieran caught sight of his father first and he did not look happy, arms crosses and Kieran had felt his father’s power a block away. The older demon was not in a forgiving mood but hopefully the other quests were and would be more understanding.
“Nice of you to join us Kieran, must have been important.” Kieran’s father spat, turning his head towards his son.
Kieran held back a hiss when his father’s gaze swept over Collin and he grabbed the pup’s wrist, pulling Collin more behind him. When he did that, his father’s eyes snapped up to meet his, angry tension quickly filling up the small dining hall.
“You brought a werewolf to your wedding, a white werewolf no less. Have you not heard?”
Kieran frowned when Collin stepped closer to be flush against his back and one of his hands came up to grab onto the back of his shirt. He didn’t know how many times Collin had heard others call him out on being a white werewolf and the rumors that went along with it but hearing it from his mate’s father had to hurt.
“I’m well aware Collin is a white werewolf and I have also heard what is said about them but as I’m am sure you are well aware of now, I’m his mate and I don’t care. He could be a purple were-flamingo for all I care and I’d still choose him over Vanessa. So if you excuse me, I have a beautiful bride to apologize too along with the rest of the quests. However, you might get your wish and see one of your sons marry today.”
Kieran grabbed Collin’s wrist once more and pulled him along past his father. He couldn’t tell what his father’s silence meant either good or bad. Nevertheless, it didn’t matter once he stepped up to the big double doors that hid about 200 quests and probably a stunningly perfect bride. If his father still wanted a wedding, it’d be his brother marrying Vanessa, not him.
Not wasting another second, Kieran pushed open the doors and strolled inside the beautifully decorated room. Everything was covered in black and gold, cheetah colors. All the men wore black suits while the women wore white or gold dresses. His best man and groomsmen wore black suits and gold ties while the maid of honor and brides made wore long gold dresses. Finally, his eyes landed on Vanessa. She had long golden blonde hair that was styled perfectly to her long white-gold wedding dress. Her eyes matched his own dark amber color and she watched him with wide eyes as he walked down the aisle, Collin trailing behind him.
As Kieran made his way up to the alter, he took noticed that no one really watched him but their eyes were on Collin and Collin looked absolutely petrified, legs shaking and his eyes darting back and forth all around the room. Kieran could feel the fear radiating off Collin like a furnace and he would do anything right now to make that feeling turn a 180 and make the boy smile. The pup was probably also worried that he would change his mind once he saw Vanessa but Collin had nothing to worry about, he’d seen Vanessa and she had nothing on Collin.
Once he stood behind Vanessa at the altar, he turned and faced the demons patiently waiting for his explanation, motioning Collin to stand on the other side of him. He flashed a quick, apologetic smile to Vanessa before turning back to the quests.
“First off, I’d like to apologize to everyone for having to wait for me to arrive and I’d like to thank you for being so patient today. On my way where, I accidently hit a dog and so it would survive, I rushed him to the vets where they were able to help him and save his life. I’d also like to apologize profusely to Vanessa, as beautiful as she is and looks, I’m afraid I am unable to marry her.” He ignored the small gasps and murmurs as he continues, “The dog I hit was actually a werewolf, the very one standing beside me and while I am still figuring out what to do myself, I am his mate. I am well away of the obvious and I do not care what anyone has to say and while Collin stays here for the rest of the weekend, he is to be treated as a quest and if anything happens to him, I will see personally, that the person or people responsible be punished.”
Kieran finished by turning towards Vanessa to face her, “I’d also like to personally apologize for everything but I cannot marry you. However, if you’d still like there to be a wedding for why waste such a beautiful dress on a beautiful day, I might know the perfect demon for you. A little kitten may have told me about your affections for someone I know quite personally.” He smiled when Vanessa’s eyes lit up and a big smile formed on her face. Then, she turned her smile towards a certain demon in the crowd, to which he followed and saw his brother standing now, his smile matching hers. Kieran gestured for him to come up to the platform and he did so, grabbing on to Vanessa’s hands.
Kieran was happy for his brother and he was also happy Collin literally jumped into his life so he could see the right people get married. Nodding his head to the priest, he wrapped his arm around Collin’s waist so they could stand at the side and watch the wedding.
The rest of the wedding went smoothly after that and even his father didn’t speak up so maybe he was okay with everything yet once everyone started leaving the wedding room, his father motioned him over.
“That was a stupid stunt you pulled and I should have you kicked out of the clan for disobeying me but seeing as it was for your brother made me change my mind. But, I will not allow you to mate with that werewolf and you are to send him back to his family.” His father’s voice was stern, not to be challenged.
“Not going to happen. I signed him out of the hospital and I took responsibility for him when his family disowned him.” Kieran’s eyes faded into a deep red, pupils shifting to slips when his father hissed, the older demons eyes doing the same.
“That may be so but he is not you mate and I’ll be damned if I have a son mated to a white werewolf. You’re a king cheetah demon and the responsibilities to that come first and they can’t be seen through if you have a male werewolf as a mate.”
Kieran knew if he pushed this too far, his father would think Kieran was challenging him over power him to take control of the clan and they’d have to fight until one of them gave up or died. If he won, he’d be the leader but that wasn’t what he wanted. He didn’t like being controlled, his strong demon being the cause of that but he also didn’t want to be the one controlling or calling the shots.
“Father, I’m not going to argue with you anymore. Just because I am with Collin doesn’t mean I won’t have children in the future. At least give us some time to find the right footing and go from there and the fact that Collin is a white werewolf is none of your concern so if anything happens, I’ll take care of it. If you don’t drop this, I will challenge you and know what will happen if I do.”
Kieran’s father seemed to back off after the last sentence and Kieran was glad he didn’t have to fight his father on his brother’s wedding day.
“I’ll drop this for now but we will talk again after this weekend is over and if anything does happen, you’re damn right you’ll take responsibility for it.”
Kieran watched his father stalk off, going to one of their many quests, a fake smile on his face. His father had hid his power for appearance sake but he knew once all the quests were gone and they were home, it’d be out and showing Kieran that he was still the leader of the clan and was to be obeyed. He kind of hoped after this stunt his father would demote and finally allow to Keir able to become head of the clan when the older demon stepped down.
Kieran looked down at Collin when the pup slipped his hand away but it was when the pup muttered something stupid, he only had to catch the word why that he knew that Collin still didn’t understand.
“Damn it Collin, you’re going to learn to stop asking me that.” He growled.  He wrapped his arm around Collin’s waist, pulling him close and kissing him right on the mouth. Collin’s eyes went wide, a small sound escaping between their lips and Kieran used the opportunity to slip his tongue in Collin’s mouth, deepening the kiss and literally shutting the werewolf pup up.
The kiss only lasted a few second before Collin got over his shock and shoved him away, growling lowly and wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. Kieran only grinned back, “I don’t want to hear that word come out of your mouth again, you understand me?” he asked.
Collin continued to glare at Kieran but nodded his head anyway and went to walk away when Kieran stopped him.
“Where are you going? Don’t you remember what I told you?” Kieran asked, concern laced in his voice.
“To the bathroom.” Collin said quickly almost like he didn’t want to tell him, looking slightly embarrassed.
Kieran let go of Collin’s arm, glancing up to see where the bathroom was and how close it was, “I told you to stay in my sight at all time, just because my father said he would drop it for now doesn’t mean others will be so forgiving at the moment so you have to tell me where you are going before you run off so I know where to find you.”
Frowning, Collin turned his gaze to the floor, “I don’t need a babysitter. I’ll be fine on my own against a few demons.”
Kieran wrapped an arm around Collin’s waist again, “Don’t let them hear you say that.” He leaned down and pressed a kiss to the pup’s temple before pushing him slightly by the lower back, “I just don’t want anything to happen to you. Go to the bathroom and I’ll wait right here for you.”
Kieran couldn’t help but smiled as he watched Collin stumble away and try his hardest not to bump into anyone as he made his way to the bathroom. He knew Collin could hold his own against a couple demons, even if he was just a pup, he was still a werewolf and they weren’t weak. A full grown werewolf, if pissed off, could probably take on probably about 20 demons. He was still worried though, most likely a good 90% of the quests were pissed at Collin for stealing him away from Vanessa which they were just going to have to deal with it. Vanessa was with his brother now and from what he could tell, they were very happy.
Kieran greeted them as they walked his way, a soft smile forming on his face as his brother thanked him.
“So how pissed is dad?” Cyprian asked.
Chuckling, Kieran ran a hand through his hair, letting out a quick sigh, “You can feel him can’t you? You can already tell how mad he is and I’m thoroughly shocked he didn’t kill Collin on the spot.”
“Did you really hit him with your car?” Vanessa asked, looking concerned.
Kieran nodded, frowning, “Yeah, complete accident though. I wasn’t paying attention and he jumped out in front of it. There’s blood all over the back seat of the rental car.”
“That’s a werewolf for you. He looks fine now.” Cyprian said. “Are you serious about him? You gave up this beautiful blushing bride for him. Ow!” he yelped jokingly when Vanessa swatted his arm, red tinting her pale cheeks.
“Yes, I didn’t think I’d be so serious about someone I’ve just met, a male werewolf no less but I’m sorry Vanessa. Not to be rude by saying this though, even if I didn’t meet Collin today, I wouldn’t have married you and let my brother marry you. He liked you way more than he shows.” He said, winking.
It was Cyprian’s turn to flush and he coughed awkwardly, smiling.
Vanessa smiled fondly, eyes sparkling, “Thank you Kieran for what you did for us. I hope you’re happy with Collin.” She bowed her head slightly, “If you excuse me, I have about 190 people to say thank you for coming too.” Before she could scamper into the crowd, she kissed Kieran on the cheek then kissed her husband goodbye.
“I can’t thank you enough Kieran really. I never thought you’d defy dad like that, especially not for a werewolf pup. Also, who told you I liked Vanessa? I wasn’t going to say anything and be happy for you, move on.”
“Keir did. Kieran answered, his eyes scanning over the crowd for a moment for his eldest brother, “I talked to him last night and even he could feel the connection you two had at dinner the night before and that you two disappeared sometime during the night.”
Cyprian groaned, “I’m sorry Kieran, you’re not mad about that are you? I knew it was wrong but one time would have been enough, you weren’t supposed to find out.”
Kieran laughed at Cyprian’s confession, “If I was mad that you did that, do you think I’d have let you married her? Seriously, you don’t think about things sometimes. I don’t blame you, she’s pretty and from what I’ve heard has a gentle personality. She’s perfect for you so don’t worry yourself silly over what happened. I had this whole plan ready, Collin was just an added bonus. Now, go be with Vanessa, it looks like she’s being overwhelmed.”
Once Cyprian walked off to help Vanessa, did he notice that it had been a while since Collin went to the bathroom. He only hoped the pup got lost in the big building. He begun making his way to the restroom, ignoring all the demons who tried to stop and talk to him, even close friends. He got to the bathroom in less than a minute and unless Collin really had to go he should have been back long before Vanessa had even left.
Off to the side was a hallway and if Collin wanted to get away from all the demons, he’s most likely escape route would be through this and from where he had been standing, he couldn’t see the entrance so he wouldn’t have noticed Collin slip in.
Just to be sure though, he went into the bathroom and called Collin’s name, there was no answer. He left the bathroom turning to go into the hallway when he heard a loud yelp, one that would come from a werewolf. Everyone in the dining hall also heard it and it got eerily quiet. Kieran took off down the hall and when he turned the corner at the end, he saw 3 of the quests cornering Collin who was in his wolf form. Collin had his head low, ears back and he was growling loudly, teeth bared in a snarl. As a young werewolf, Collin stood at his hip but once the pup was full grown, on all four legs, Collin would then stand at his chest. He had a few more years but he couldn’t wait to see that.
“What is going on here?” Kieran shouted, drawing the attention of the 3 demons and they all paled when they focused on him. He didn’t waste a second and with letting his power flow out, he moved quickly over to the demon closest and grabbed him by the neck, lifting him in the air.
“I said if anyone messed with Collin, you’d be punished so if the two of you run, I’ll just kill you.” He slammed the demon he was holding into the wall, his head hitting hard on the wall and knocking him out. Kieran hissed, eyes bleeding to a dark red, pupils shifting to slits and his hair begun to fade to a golden blonde, “Hell, I might kill you anyway.” He went to move towards the second demon when he felt his father’s power and then heard his voice.
“What is the meaning of this? Fighting on my son’s special day. I should have you all kicked out.” His father’s eyes lingered way to long on Collin, “What the hell happened and Kieran, tell your dog to shift back right this instance.”
Kieran hissed at his father, no one called Collin a dog. “He has a name.”
“I’ll properly address him when he shifts back so right now, he is a dog.”
Rolling his eyes, Kieran slowly made his way to Collin, “Collin, baby, you have to shift back so you can tell us what happened.” Collin shock his head, growling at Kieran and his eyes shifted to the two other demons.
“I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you, trust me.” Kieran held out his hand, hesitantly running his hand through Collin’s fur between his ears. The young pup nuzzled against his hand for a moment, letting out a content whine before shifting back to his human form. Kieran slipped off his jacket, covering Collin’s bare shoulders, knelling down and pulling the pup to his chest, blocking him from view from his father and the demons behind him.
“What happened Collin?” Kieran asked, tilting Collin’s head up.
Tears filled Collin’s eyes and to hide them, he moved his head to press his forehead to Kieran’s shoulder. “I went to the bathroom like I said I was going too but when I came out, I couldn’t find you so I decided to wait out the party in his hallway and to get away from all the demons. Then, those three found me, accused me of stealing you from Vanessa. They called me a dog and a whore, a bitch that’s only good for spreading my legs and they tried to hold me down, nearly breaking my arm so I shifted to defend myself. I’m sorry I ruined the clothes you bought for me.”
“I’m not worried about the clothes, we can get more of those but you’re only one of you. Are you okay?” Collin didn’t answer and Kieran turned his head to the two demons who were still conscious, glaring at them, “I should kill you for touching him. He is mine and not for you to touch.” He hissed, tightening his hold on Collin.
“Kieran, I think it’s time you went to the house.”
Kieran turned his glare onto his father, “This wasn’t Collin’s fault so we shouldn’t be the ones leaving.”
“I never said it was.” His father replied, “Think of how Collin feels right now. Just let my driver drive you both to the house and the rest of us with shortly follow.”
Kieran reluctantly agreed once his father said he’d punish the two remaining demons personally. He scooped Collin into his arms and stood up and he made sure Collin stayed covered as he made his way through the dining hall. He kept his power so no one got in his way and he kept it out until they were sitting soundly in the back of the car.
“I’m sorry Collin.” Kieran apologized once the car started down the road.
Collin shook his head, “I should have come back to you than going off on my way. I’ll listen to you next time.”
It’s okay.” Kieran whispered, “I’m just glad you’re okay.” He held Collin as close as possible to him, pressing his face into Collin’s hair. When he had heard Collin yelp, dread had hit him square in the chest and he panicked. He had only met this boy just this morning but if anything were to happen to him, he didn’t know what he’d do.
3
Kieran ran Collin a hot bath as the pup waited in the other room. They had gotten to the house in less than 10 minutes and he had never been happier to actually be in his childhood home. Luckily in this house, all they had were human staff since he was sure Collin would be nervous to be around demons at the moment. He nearly ran out of the car on the other side when their driver opened the door for him but Kieran had reassured him that the driver wasn’t going to harm him. He only hoped Collin would be okay once his family returned.
Once he deemed the bath ready, Kieran went back into his bedroom to let Collin know. When he got back to the room, he paused to literally stare at the boy. His white hair shone in the sun and he looked like he was shining, eyes glittering as he watched the scenery out the window. Instead of his jacket now, Collin had a white sheet around his shoulders, letting the extra flow to the floor.
A thought drifted through his head before he could stop it and a pleasurable shudder rolled down his spine. He wondered if this is how Collin would look after they’ve mated, relaxed and practically glowing and his demon purred in agreement. However, he shook the thought away before it got more detailed because if they were to mate, it’d be for some time and definitely not in his childhood home where his family could return at any time.
“Collin,” Kieran said, drawing Collin’s attention to him, “The bath is ready and I’ll have some clothes prepared for when you get out. Towels are under the sink so take your time.”
Collin chuckled at Kieran’s directions, “You sound like a butler.” He turned his head, smiling at Kieran, “I’ve never had someone fill the bathtub for me since I was about 5. That was my job for my brothers and sisters once they were born.”
Kieran smiled back, “Your life is going to be different now Collin.” He moved over to the young werewolf, wrapping an arm around his waist. Without clothes now, he could truly feel how skinny Collin was and that was going to change. “I’m still unsure as to was white werewolves are exiled from their packs once they shift but I promise Collin, I’ll never leave you and in given time you will be mine.”
He turned Collin and pressed him against the back door that lead to his part of the balcony, holding Collin’s face in his hands and he took in Collin’s now wide eyes, filled with not fear but curiosity, “I’m your mate so believe me when I say I’m falling for you.” He cut off Collin’s next words with a kiss and before the pup could push him away, he grabbed the boy’s wrists and held them against the glass door. Collin trembled against him, whimpering as Kieran deepened the kiss. He raised Collin’s arms so he could hold both wrists with one hand and he moved his now free hand to Collin’s hip which was now bare, the sheet falling to the floor when he raised Collin’s arms.
After a few moments later Kieran broke the kiss and leaned back, looking Collin up and down. Collin was flushed, his cheeks red and he was breathing heavy from the kiss. He was also trying to twist his hips to hide himself from Kieran.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of Collin, you’re perfect.” Kieran whispered in Collin’s ear, smiling when Collin’s blush went to the tips of the pup’s ears. He nipped at Collin’s earlobe, Collin breathing in sharply and he continued by placing light kisses down Collin’s jaw, each kiss reacting a shudder from Collin. When he had gotten to Collin’s throat, he was pleased when Collin instinctively tilted his head back in a show of submission, moaning softly when Kieran nipped at the skin there.
Kieran released Collin’s wrists when he was sure the pup wouldn’t push him away and Collin’s hands instantly went to his shoulder’s gripping onto his shirt. He wrapped his arms around Collin’s waist, pulling the pup to be flush against him and Collin shuddered, arching his back. It was then Collin rebelled, pushing against Kieran’s shoulders and squirming to get out of the demon’s hold.
Collin was embarrassed that Kieran was seeing him this way, flushed and completely naked. He had heard Kieran say he had nothing to be ashamed of but he couldn’t help but be self-conscious. He had always been shy around the other pack members his age when they all went swimming in the lake or river naked. He was always the one to swim with shorts on or he stayed out of the water completely dressed and watched the others have a good time.
“Collin,” Kieran growled, making the werewolf pup go still, “Damn, my family is back.” He pulled back so only his hands were on Collin’s hips and he ignored the urge to toss Collin onto the bed and claim him. “Go take your bath baby before the water gets to cold.”
It took a few moments for Collin to wrap his mind around on what Kieran said and when it registered what was going on, he quickly grabbed the blanket from the floor, wrapping it around his waist and he darted into the bathroom, closing the door.
Kieran groaned and ran a hand through his hair. His family was going to be able to smell Collin all over him and would know what they were doing. But, before he could go down there he needed to get Collin some clothes, ones that would fit him and he hoped Collin wasn’t too mad at him. It was suddenly hard for him to keep his hands to himself around the young pup. Once he heard the splashing of water did he quickly gather some clothes for Collin and he left to go talk with his family.
“Kieran! You made it!”
Kieran’s eyes moved towards the direction of the voice and they locked onto his sister’s eyes, the same color matching his own. She had a big smile on her face and her eyes shone with happiness. They hadn’t seen each other in about 6 months since she had been in Africa visiting family. He flashed a smile, giving her a quick hug.
“Well, it was supposed to be my wedding so of course I’d be here.” He joked, avoiding his father’s stern gaze. He also ignored the small scoff from his father’s direction yet Cleo did not.
“Father, you should be happy that Kieran did something so unselfish for Cyprian. It’s hard to give up such a stunning piece of work like Vanessa for a young werewolf pup.” She didn’t even let their father say anything reply before she turned to head to look back at Kieran, “So where is the cute puppy?” she asked, a gleam in her eye.
Kieran rolled his eyes at Cleo’s behavior but he couldn’t help but smile at how she was handling their father, “Collin is taking a bath but please when he comes down, calm down and don’t jump him.”
Cleo smiled knowingly, her eyes now held mischief “Like you haven’t jump him yet. His scent is all over you. He might be a cute innocent puppy as a front but once you get right down to it, you’re his mate so whenever you’re around, he’ll be like a cat in heat until you mate with him. It’s only a matter of time and I give it about a week.”
Feeling heat rise in his cheeks, Kieran turned his face away, “Can we not talk about this right now Cleo? I’m sure mom doesn’t want to hear about this.” He gave a quick, almost embarrassed smile to his mother, “I’m sorry I missed you at the after party, I’m sure father told you about the situation that came up.”
Naomi, his mother, was a good foot shorter than himself but he was still wary of the older women. His mother or not, she was still a demon and would put her motherly instincts aside so she could raise him properly as a demon. She was still kind and gentle like how a human mother would be but that didn’t protect him like natural demon instincts would. She had peridot green eyes, his older brother sharing the same and she had short, shoulder length black hair. From one look, you wouldn’t think she was a cheetah demon and he was the same way too.
“It’s quite alright dear, I understand what needed to be done. How is Collin doing?” She asked.
“He’s doing fine,” Kieran replied, “Probably best to keep him from large groups of demons for a while. This is all new to him.”
“I’m sure it is for a werewolf as young as him,” She smiled and nodded in agreement, “It’ll take him a few days to adjust to living with ones who aren’t his family and being thrown to his mate must have thrown him for a loop. Why don’t you go back and check on him, make sure he’s okay.”
Kieran glanced at his father who had his arms crossed and looking in other direction before giving his mom a brief hug, whispering a soft thank you. He wished his father could be as understanding as she was and he hoped he’d come around eventually.
“Keep a good eye on him while he’s here and stay out of trouble.” She said in advice and she had a knowing smile to match Cleo’s. He could only hope to stay out of trouble through the weekend. It was going to be hard to keep his hands to himself.

Kieran knocked on the bathroom door, “Collin, you doing okay? Can I come in?” When he got no response, not even a sound, opened the door slightly, “You can shut the shower curtain if you’d like. I want to speak to you.” He took the shower curtain closing as a sign to go in and he sat down on the toilet. He was able to see Collin’s outline through the frosty shower curtain.
“You couldn’t have waited until I got out and dressed, this is weird.” Collin muttered, drawing his knees to his chest.
“More privacy.” Kieran answered, “Are you mad at me?” He asked. He caught Collin turning his head through the curtain.
“No, I’m not mad.” Collin whispered, “Just don’t do it again.”
Kieran chuckled unable to help himself, “Like not ever or maybe after we know each other a little bit better? Because I think I’ll go crazy if I think I’ll never be able to touch or kiss you again.”
Collin scoffed, “Do you even realize what you are saying? You wouldn’t be thinking this way if you didn’t run with me over your car. You would have married Vanessa without a care in the world. Just because you’re my mate doesn’t mean you have to take responsibly for me all the time and you don’t have to force yourself. I want my mate to actually like me, not think that way because they think they have to or using me as a scapegoat to get-”
Kieran didn’t want to hear anymore and jerked back the shower curtain, cutting Collin off and his eyes bleed into red, pupils shifting and he watched the young pup carefully, “Do you really believe that? That I’m using you to get out of being with Vanessa? I had this planned before you even thought about how your day was going to plan out. I was never going to marry Vanessa, whether you shown up or not and I’m not just taking responsibility for you and I’m not forcing myself. If I was forcing myself, do you think I’d want to mate with you? Do you think I’d protect you from my father, defending you, keeping you around? If I was forcing myself, I wouldn’t have jumped you earlier, I wouldn’t be talking with you right now, making sure you don’t hate me for what I did without asking. Collin, I thought I have made this very clear that you are mine, my mate as well and I’m not letting you go for anything in world. My family be damned if they try and break us up in anyway. I’d give up everything for you and I know you don’t understand right now why I would do that but you will soon learn that once a demon locks onto a mate, the one their demon accepts, they don’t let them go.”
“It can take a demon a year, a day or hell two minutes to accept another but when they do, they aren’t letting go and will do anything for them until the other rejects them and darling, since I’m your mate, your wolf has already accepted my demon. We’re in this together for life, no running away or trying to push me away anymore, you understand?”
Collin was trembling, staring wide eyed at Kieran and it almost looked to Kieran that Collin was leaning away from him. He had scared Collin again and he frowned, he needed to change how he talked to the younger pup. Collin seemed very sturdy with the way he talked back to him but he needed to watch himself when speaking back. Kieran slowly moved to kneel by the bathtub and he reached out to cup Collin’s cheek. Collin flinched when Kieran touched him but soon whimpered softly, leaning into his hand and his eyes fluttered shut.
“Collin, I’m not trying to scare in submission.” Kieran whispered, running his thumb over Collin’s cheek, “I’m just trying to make you understand that everything I do now is for you. I’m not going to throw you away, not now and not certainly in the future and I do want you, not as a scapegoat but as my mate. So please, no more of this talk of me using you or that I don’t want you okay?”
Kieran smiled when Collin opened his eyes and he moved his hand to back of Collin’s neck, pulling him forward and kissed him softly.
Collin took in a quick breath of surprise through his nose, taking in Kieran’s scent and he relaxed, leaning into the kiss for a brief moment before pulling away. They shared a look of acknowledgment before Kieran pulled his hand away. Collin fidgeted in the now cold water, waiting for Kieran to leave or look away but he kept watching him like he was expecting Collin to do something.
“Are you going to sit there the whole time or leave so I can get out of this cold water and get dressed?” Collin asked.
Kieran smirked, “I want to help you out if you’re done.”
Collin flushed and drew his knees closer, “I can get out by myself, I’m not a child.”
“I know that,” Kieran said before moving his hand to rest on Collin’s knee. “You’ve been sitting in the cold water for a bit and I just want to make sure your legs aren’t stiff and just in case you fall, I want to be able to catch you.” He stood up and grabbed a towel from the rack, spreading it open and even turned his head, closing his head.
“I won’t even look as you get out, I promise.”
Collin rolled his eyes, he knew Kieran was up to something and he was almost afraid to find out. He slowly stood up, watching Kieran the whole time, expecting him to open his eyes but Kieran never did and Collin deemed it safe. He stepped out of the tub and into the white, fluffy towel. He intended to wrap it around himself and wait to prove to Kieran he can stand on his own so Kieran would leave when Kieran wrapped the towel and his arms around Collin’s waist. Collin tried to bring his arms up to push Kieran away but his hands got tangled up in the towel.
“I’ll let you go only if you promise to let me dry you off.” Kieran loosened his hold when Collin tensed, hands clenching the towel.
“Collin, I can only imagine what you went through with being a white werewolf and when you said that it had been your job to fill the bathtub for your brothers and sisters, it made my upset that you’re family made you do that. It makes me want to pamper you, to spoil the shit out of you and to tell you that you can be as selfish as you want with me. That whatever you want, just tell me and I’ll get it for you. I’ll do anything or get anything to see you happy but I also don’t want you to be afraid to tell me no or that I’m going too far. I’ll never hurt you or make you do anything you don’t want to do. Am I going too far?” Kieran asked.
Collin buried his face into the towel, shaking his head against Kieran’s chest.
“You understand now? That you’re just as much my mate as I am yours?”
Collin nodded his head in reply ad he relaxed in Kieran’s arms, unclenching his hands. He wasn’t used to the ways of affection by any means and he definitely didn’t know how to go about saying certain things like that he wanted something or didn’t want to do something. While he had been in the pack, if they told him to do something and if he were to say no, they would have made him sleep outside, summer or winter and he found that out the hard way. He wondered how Kieran would react if he told him.
“Turn around.” Kieran whispered and he half expected Collin to push him away but when Collin tipped his head back to meet his eyes, for a brief moment, all he saw was a look of pure submission. It made fire roll in his belly, his body tensed and his demon purred in approval. Collin then turned in his arms, leaning back against him and waited.
Kieran ignored the demonic urge to claim the innocent pup before him and instead raised the towel to Collin’s still wet hair. He covered Collin’s head with it and begun to dry his hair, all the while keeping his eyes up. He didn’t think Collin would appreciate it if he used this advantage to check him out. After a minute of two, Kieran stopped drying Collin’s hair and wrapped the towel around the pup’s waist. He rested his hands on Collin’s thin hips and kissed him softly on the back of his neck. He couldn’t help but smile when Collin shivered and his shoulder’s hunched up a bit.
“Collin, what are your thoughts on me? I’m sure finding out that your mate is a male cheetah demon. Are you okay with me being your mate? I guess I should have asked that from the beginning rather than dragging you along at my pace.”
Collin turned slightly yet not enough to make Kieran move his hands and Collin’s blue gaze met Kieran dark amber and didn’t let go. “I don’t know what to think honestly. Before today I never got to have my own opinion and if I did, it didn’t matter to anyone else. As a white werewolf, I was the lowest of the low in the pack so I never got my say in anything. It is though going to take some time for me to get used to thing such as,” Collin glanced at Kieran’s hands, “Affection, asking for things and generally being around others. Unless I was needed for chores, most of the time I was locked in my room. I didn’t really have any friends besides the other white werewolf, Lennox. The other kids only invited me to hang out with them because they felt sorry for me. He turns 18 next week so I hope he does okay on his first shift. I was going to hang around on the outskirts of the territory and wait a week for him to shift so we could be in the wild together and we wouldn’t be alone starting out but I won’t be able to keep my promise.”
“Why not?” Kieran asked, “You can still be together, I’m not holding you against your will.”
“Because I’m sure you wouldn’t let me live in the wild with him so what would be the point of meeting him. It’ll almost be like I’m bragging to him that I get to come back to you, a home while he has to be all alone in the wild. I couldn’t do that to him.”
“I’m not saying you have to do that and you’re right, I’d never allow you to live in the wild with another man,” Kieran smiled when a blush spread over Collin’s cheeks, “What I’m saying is that he can stay with us if he’s that important to you. I told you I want to see you happy and if your friend being safe makes you happy, I’ll do it.”
Except Collin didn’t look happy and soon had a frown on his face. “Isn’t that a little too far to do for someone you just met? What if I was using you and planned to run away once I got my friend”
Kieran was silent for a few moment watching Collin’s grew very serious before he laughed softly, “Yes because I can see you doing that. I just met you this morning and I already know you would never do that to anyone. Also, why would you tell me your plan if you were actually going to do that? Besides as if I’d let you run away.”
Kieran turned Collin around, cupping his cheeks with both hands and kissed him, just long enough to distract him so he could move his hand to the back of Collin’s head. He pulled back moments later, grasping Collin’s hair and jerking the young pup’s head back, “I want to make you happy but I’m not afraid to use force every once and awhile. Don’t forget that I am still a demon.”
Collin’s eyes grew wide and he begun to tremble but not so much in fear as in arousal. He had always heard stories of demons being truly scary and to avoid them but he just thought that were stories adults told younger pups so that would stay away from them but it seemed they were true. He had no doubts that if he didn’t watch himself, he was sure this demon wouldn’t hesitate to eat him alive.

Kieran waited patiently outside his bedroom as Collin got dressed. He had suggested he help Collin get dressed while he finished drying the pup off but when he placed a small kiss to Collin’s belly, the boy shoved him away and sternly asked him to leave so he could finish in peace. He begrudgingly agreed, unable to say no to a red faced, glaring cutely werewolf pup and he left the room. Collin was definitely going to be the death of him.
Waiting patiently for about 10 minutes, Collin hesitantly emerged from the bedroom and he was glad he found the right size for the skinny pup. Collin still had a flush to his cheeks and he wouldn’t meet Kieran’s eyes, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.
“Are you going to be okay with being around my family? My mom and sister want to meet you.” Kieran asked softly. It was then Collin met his gaze and he nodded.
“I’m not,” Collin paused, trying to find the right words, “Causing problems with your father am I?”
Kieran smiled and ran a hand through Collin’s hair, “Don’t worry about my father okay? I’ll handle it through honestly he’ll probably never be okay with this but he’s just going to have to deal with it. If he says anything just ignore him and I know it might be hard sometime but just know he’s doing it to get a reaction out of you so don’t let it get you alright?”
Collin nodded once more and smiled shyly back. Thinking back to the morning, he never thought he’d be here in a demon’s home, taking words of encouragement from his mate who was a cheetah demon and that he wouldn’t have to live in the wild for the rest of his life. He let his eyes slip close when Kieran’s hand cupped his cheek, Kieran’s warmth and scent comforting him and he allowed himself to melt into Kieran’s kiss, relaxing when Kieran’s arm came around his waist. His chest went tight and butterflies erupted in his belly when Kieran pulled him closer. His mind went black, a hazy feeling falling over him as he opened his mouth to let Kieran explore. If Kieran kept kissing him like this, he wouldn’t even care if the demon ate him alive.
However, the sweet kiss was soon interrupted by an ‘ahem’ behind Kieran. Kieran though continued to kiss him for a few more second before slowly pulling away, smiling at him until he turned his head to look at his father.
“We were on our way.” Kieran said, “You didn’t have to come get us.”
“Apparently I did, now get downstairs. Your mother and sister are waiting.”
Kieran slipped away from Collin but not before grabbing his hand and interlacing their fingers together. Collin said nothing and squeezed his hand back, looking up at him, an anxious look on his face.
Kieran gave Collin’s hand a small squeeze back in reassurance, “Just be yourself and they’ll love you, I promise.”
