I’ve had this absolute whack idea in my head for a few days now and I haven’t had it in me to actually write something for it but I still just need to do something soooo here we are. Yes, it’s mildly selfshippy because I know the language but I’m writing this for anyone to read.

Kiri goes to an international hero convention in America not only because he was asked to by the committee running the event but also because it was being hosted in the same city his best friend Bakugo has been living in for the last year.

He’d been wandering around the floor for a while now, taking things in, he can’t talk to too many people since his English isn’t great but he’s still enjoying himself. The only time he really regrets not knowing the language better was when this woman with a beautiful smile and kind eyes accidentally bumped into him and all the stuff she was carrying went flying.

She said sorry, in fact, she said it at least a dozen times. The reason he knew she said sorry was because the only sentence in English that Kiri knew by heart was, ‘sorry, I don’t speak English.’

He told her that when he handed her the clipboard she’d dropped and that was when she smiled at him. Gave him a nod that was very polite, and hurried off into the crowd of people.

After that, he went back to roaming around until it was time for the panel he was apart of. He made his way backstage and found Bakugo standing with the person he’d bumped into… and the two were signing away.

‘Hey, who’s this?’ Kirishima asked him because while he couldn’t speak English well, he learned to sign it pretty well thanks to Bakugou.

Bakugo finger spelled your name out for him and then added, ‘my interpreter.’ but it was clear the big guy wasn’t really paying attention anymore.

Kiri was already looking at you again. ‘Sorry for bumping into you back there. You’re okay, right?’

You smiled again it, it lit up your whole face as you told him you were just fine, and it made him wonder if you were just as happy as he was to find a way around the language barrier.

Sara managed to get a group of students, but only she and Haruka survived to reach The Vannah.

Picked up Yusuke on the way there.

Has 3 years of teaching, 1st year teaching solo.

Her dad ran a Museum in Kyoto, Mom was a business woman who frequented the US and Japan.

Her degree is actually in History with a minor in Japanese Folklore, taught English cause she was the most fluent in it on staff.

“The Optimist”

Army brat turned Navy Petty Officer (his family constantly gave him shit for it)

This man is from Texas and you cannot tell me otherwise.

Stationed in Yokosuka for over a decade before getting discharged.

Spent more time in Japan than in the US.

Didn’t finish Highschool, got his GED after he retired.

Was doing Night Classes for a hospitality degree while working at The Vannah.

Knows a lot about animals (Wanted to be a Vet before becoming a bartender).

Had a puppy named Lucky when the outbreak hit.

Was the last one to join the gang.

None of the group knew he could speak Japanese until like two weeks after they met when he got pissed enough he switched to Japanese.
