Knights thieves and the thing line between them.
Chapter one
Along the weaving beaches and ports of the sword coast passing the lush Forests and untouched emerald fields, through the canopy and into an opening the seaside kingdom of Oppidum Mare comes into view, it's towering buildings and famously impenetrable fortresses solidifying it's superiority to the surrounding area.
Weaving through the bustling streets of strong medieval homes and businesses, people of all flavours walk the streets, the city being a cultural melting pot like most cities of this magnitude.
As the buildings become more distinguished and are of higher quality, the quality of people changes too, with many high members of society like lawyers and grand sorcerers walking on the much fancier streets below them.
Coming up to the castle, the royal palace. A fortress said to be blessed with divine protection from the gods themselves, this place is the sacred home of the royal family and their forever loyal guardsmen, just entering the castle is a privilege not everyone has, just in the entrance alone, the sheer magnitude and grandeur of the architecture and design is astounding.
moving through the castles halls is quite surreal, it seems very quiet and desolate with the occasional maid or knight roaming the halls tending to their duties, then, down an offshoot hallway from the main hallway is a relatively ornate wooden door with a brass plaque on the door that reads "doctor Ozma Oxnard, psychiatric consultation" written in fancy lettering, the voices of both the doctor and his current patient can be heard through the door.
A young man lays in a satin, therapist style couch near the centre of the room, as the doctor sits in a fancy armchair that sits near the headrest of the couch, holding a clipboard and pen, With a cup of warm liquid sitting comfortably on a small table next to him.
"I just feel like I should be happier about it, you know?" The young man says dimly, he seems to be in his mid 20's with short and scruffy brown hair tipped with a dark green, his skin is a light hazel, appearing to be quite clean and well kept, he wears a soft green cloak made of a high quality cotton that neatly covers his shoulders and lower back, it has a laced connection on the front to allow adjustments to the tightness around the neck, the cloak also has a sizable hood professionally stitched on at the back of the collar, the hood is made of the same material as the cloak, under the cloak, He is wearing an olive green casual tunic and a pair of baggy trousers that are a complimentary light wood brown, that go with his very dark brown leather boots, the young man continues to stare blankly at the ceiling, as he continues to question his entire life.
"Well..." the man pauses. Taking a moment to think before continuing to speak "with the promotion like the one you are receiving, it makes perfect sense that you'd be anxious, Mr Ravenguard" the man speaks with a classy accent and talks with maturity and wisdom, the man looks to be in his early 50's his hair greyed and styled neatly, he wears a casual suit, with his shirt worn loosely, his sleeves rolled up, and his tie nowhere to be seen. His circle shaped wire frame glasses sit comfortably on the brim of his nose as he looks at 'mr Ravenguard' with interest and concern as he jots down a few notes as 'Mr Ravenguard' speaks again.
"I suppose... I just," He too pauses, thinking over how he should word his next statement. "it's so much responsibility, and I'm not sure if I'm ready for that, not yet at least..." His eyes squint slightly, as he recoils into the therapy couch slightly.
"Look." he says affirmatively as he sets his clipboard down, adjusts his glasses as he leans in toward him. "there's no shame in being afraid of your responsibilities, what's important is that you uphold them despite that fear, like I have said to you before, bravery is not the absence of fear, it is acting in spite of it" he talks to 'mr Ravenguard' with a soothing wisdom that seems to calm him down.
"huh... I guess you're right... I mean I've always had a similar mentality while working in the guard, being brave and whatnot, but I guess this is a different situation to try and apply it to." He sighs, his eyes looking more lively than before. "thanks Oz, you always have something wise to say. I feel better about it all now, thanks" he says, smiling.
"oh please, just doing my job Mr Ravenguard" he says dismissively, as he returns the smile, albeit softer.
"cmon, we talked about this, please call me Leo, calling me Mr makes me feel old... no offense" he looks at Ozma, who seems amused by Leo's comment. Simply rolling his eyes as he continues to speak.
"of course, Leo" he looks back at Leo with his amused expression, he then looks down at his watch as his expression becomes slightly somber, "ah... it appears our time is up Leo. same time next week then?" He asks.
"oh, yeah. that sounds good." he grabs a notebook from a side table, it seems to be barely holding itself together, many stray notes and various pieces of paper jut out at different angles, but despite its messiness, it seems very well loved and cared for.
"Lemme see here.." he pauses for a moment as he flips through the book to a new page, the page he flips to has the current date neatly written at the top and various times and duties written on the page.
"yeah, seems all good to me, next time I see you, you'll be talking to captain Ravenguard" he chuckles as he proclaims with slight pride and authority, all to ozma's amusement.
"It seems so" he smiles and chuckles slightly in amusement at Leo's behaviour. "I do wish you all the best in the promotion" he continues to smile softly.
"thanks" Leo smiles more gently at Ozma before gets up from the couch and gathers his things, consisting only of his notepad and pen, Leo then walks to the door of the office, as ozma sends leo off "goodbye leo" ozma says, still smiling.
"later doc" Leo waves as he leaves the room and closes it behind him, entering into one of the castle's many hallways, the interior walls of the castle are tall and intimidating, in fact, to leo the whole construct has given off an energy of strength and power ever since he's been here, Leo turns left and begins walking down the hallway.
'i should probably freshen up a little before bed huh?, I doubt anyone wants to see a post therapy Leo right?' Leo thinks to himself, mindlessly walking down the corridors as he twists and turns without a second thought showing just how accustomed he has become to living in the castle guard dormitories.
'It's kinda weird how they're called "dormitories" even though we aren't students... I should bring that up to Ga-' *thud*.
"Ow!" Leo is snapped out of his thoughts as he clashes head first into another person, the stack of books they were carrying, dropping to the ground unceremoniously in a mess of paper and disappointment.
"Oh!, I'm so sorry" the girl, speaking with a high appearing to be some kind of maid, dressed in a black and white dress, also wearing a frilly maid headband, it adorns her short silver hair that curls inwards slightly at the ends, leo catches himself before he looks for too long, the girl seemingly too preoccupied with gathering her books, he quickly gathers himself, crouching down and begins helping the girl collect her books "it's alright, really. I wasn't looking where I was going" Leo apologizes profusely.
"t-thank you for the help I-" as she looks up and gets a better look at Leo she cuts herself off, recognising him near immediately "Oh my goodness!" her eyes widened slightly behind her round rimmed glasses "Mr Ravenguard, sir!" She stands up quite quickly, her arms still occupied by her books, standing almost to attention in Leo's presence. while Leo stood in front of her still rather confused.
"I'msosorryforinconveniencingyousirishouldreallylookwhereimgoingamitalkingfasticanttellsorryagainillgetoutofyourway" The girl's speratic apologies fall on deaf ears as Leo looks terribly confused as he tries and fails to comprehend the speed of which she's speaking.
"H-hey, slow down!" Leo states in a, which makes the girl  down, but she seems to be embarrassed about this whole interaction. "okay, let's start with your name, okay?" Leo speaks a little more confidently, shifting his stance to appear more casual.
"oh! R-Right.." her face is slightly flushed "Emily Strauthorn," she says more normally than before, she puts her hand between them, intending to shake his. "at your service, Mr Ravanguard" her voice seems more calm and professional.
Leo extends his hand back with enthusiasm, "Lieutenant Leo Ravanguard... Although you already knew that apparently..."he trails off his sentence as he shakes her hand "it's nice to meet you" he smiles at her which in turn makes her smile back as she returns the handshake.
The handshake continues for an uncomfortable amount of time before Leo finally breaks it and Emily starts to speak, breaking the awkward silence between them. "I should uhm..." she pauses as she sheepishly sways her foot back and forth as Leo scratches his head nervously "get back to work huh?" Emily says as she readjusts the books in her arms "y-yeah" Leo says. Emily then reluctantly walks off. She turns to him as she walks away "it was nice meeting you too" she says as she walks off, her footsteps getting quieter before she turns a corner and vanishes completely.
"Weird..." Leo says quietly, more to himself if anything, as Emily is definitely too far away to hear him. Leo breathes a sigh of relief before he continues on his way, still thinking on his brief interaction with Emily.
As Leo walks through the castle he glances at the walls of the grand hallway looking at the many oil paintings of the past monarchs most of which Leo doesn't recognise they all however, look very similar, royal clothing, distinguished expressions, soon Leo makes it to the end of the painting hallway, taking a right into a less fancy part of the castle, the right wing.
From what Leo remembers, the right wing is one of the oldest parts of the castle, supposedly a part of the initial construction when it was built around 300 years ago, Leo couldn't remember the exact number. but despite it's historical significance, it's current use is the knights dormitories,  of course Leo never questioned it.
Continuing through the right wings more rustic, but still regal hallways he eventually reaches the dorms, and by proxy, his sleeping quarters.
The door to Leo's dorm creaks open to an empty room as he stands in the doorway his dark room a stark contrast to the bright hall behind him, he flicks the light switch as he enters the lights flicker on, they glow a dim yellow as the light pours into the corners of his main room, to call it a "living" room would be giving it too much credit, he feels his cheek muscles ache from forcing his smile as he walks into his room and closes the wooden door behind him. his main room is adorned in basic wooden furniture, the decor is bland and uninspired, the drab walls are lined with little to no decoration, if you can even call it that. A very accurate manifestation of his mental state,Leo always made sure his quarters were kept in near mint condition, but despite how clean and tidy his room was, it never felt like a home, not to him Anyway.
Walking through his main room Leo sits down on the end seat of his sofa before falling sideways onto it, laying down more comfortably, he looks up at the wall in front of him, looking above the mantle piece at the clock hanging on the wall, he looks at it from his sideways point of view and sees it's 10.02 pm.
"Mmm" Leo turns his head and groans into his pillow out of his newfound exhaustion "I should really get to bed before I... Zzzzz" leo proceeds to pass out from exhaustion.

Part V - Part VII (TBA)
My Masterlist! ~ AO3 Link!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was all supposed to be so simple. Your whole life had been mapped out for you, you simply had to follow the steps. You were set up to marry a man for his favorable politics, something you couldn't care less about despite the fact you would soon be in charge of those decisions yourself. You had done your duties to the letter, so why were you running through the woods to try and escape with your life? Attila grabbed your arm, pulling you in the direction of a small alcove under the roots of a nearby tree. He slips a large knife into your grasp, wrapping his hand around yours to silently command you to hold it tight. "They're going to find you." Your eyes grew wide, you pushed forward as you prepared to protest but Attila was quick to clamp his hand over your mouth. "When they do, I need you to yell out how many there are. Once you do that I want you to close your eyes and keep them closed until I tell you to open them." He sees the bewildered expression on your face. "I don't want a young woman of your status seeing what I do to those men." You found your breathing beginning to steady as you remained locked under his confident gaze. Despite how quickly he had put together this plan, one thing was clear from the way he was speaking to you. He was going to get you out of here safely. "Nod if you understand."
You quickly responded, causing him to drop his hand from your mouth. His eyes scan over your face, giving you a firm nod before disappearing from your sight. You gripped the knife tightly in your hands, tucking yourself as far back into the tree roots as you could and prepared yourself. You could hear them approaching, branches snapping under their feet along with their hushed conversations. You had to focus, you had to have faith in Attila. You yelped as one of them jumped down in front of you, a smirk instantly spreading across his face at the sight of your trembling form. "Well, well, well. If it isn't one of that monarch bastard's prized daughters." He growls. "I'm sure we could get a pretty penny for your head." He grabs you, dragging you out of your hiding spot. You slash at him, managing to cut his eye. He cries out, pushing you away from him, causing you to fall on your ass. "I'll make you pay for that, you bitch!" You look up at the ledge above you, two other bodies loomed at the top.
"Three!" You yell as loud as you can, trying to scramble away from the group as you squeezed your eyes shut. The thugs paused briefly, confused by what they thought was a random outburst. You hear Attila's footsteps thunder through the brush, he roared as he emerged into the clearing. You curled into yourself on the ground, covering your head with your hands as the fighting rang to life in your ears. You heard a loud thwack as the blade of his broadsword chopped into one of the assailants. The thud of his opponent's lifeless body thudding to the forest floor. The two other men charged forward with a yell, metal clanged against metal as they battled in the small clearing. With one final swing you heard the two remaining assailants fall to the ground in tandem. Your breathing was heavy and uneven, you sat there clutching yourself as you struggled to remain calm. Just when you felt like you were going to burst into a full blown panic you were met with the warmth of Attila's jacket being laid over your shoulders. You clutched to the worn leather, letting your body relax into its shelter. You slowly lifted your gaze to Attila's concerned face.
"They must be heavy." He states firmly.
"What must be?" You rebuttal, confused as to what he could mean.
"The weight of your brass balls." You can't help but laugh at his crass statement. "You faced off against three thugs and barely flinched, color me impressed." He sets a gentle hand on your shoulder. "Princess, if it's alright with you, I'd like to try and get you home."
"That sounds wonderful. But, I regret to inform you that my legs won't let me stand at the moment." You tried to force out a laugh as you felt tears well up in your eyes as your adrenaline wore off. Your whole body shook, your legs too weak with fear to walk. Seeing your distressed state Attila did the only thing he could think of. He scooped you up in his arms, held you close to his chest, and began to make his way back the way you had come.
"Don't you worry 'bout a thing, Your Highness. I promised to keep you safe, I think I've done alright so far, hm?" He tries to joke around and lighten the mood. Despite how often you managed to get on his nerves he never wanted to see you so afraid. You looked so small and afraid. Your face buried against him as you sobbed against his chest, he held the jacket tightly around you. The best case scenario, the horses would be somewhere nearby the carriage, he could hold you easily enough and get you both back to the castle. Attila let out a sigh of relief as luck appeared to be on his side tonight. One of the castle's best horses grazed at the side of the road. He set you gently inside the carriage, allowing you to watch him as he got the horse saddled up before making his way back to you. "Think you can sit on his back on your own for a moment?" You nodded, allowing him to help you into the saddle where you sat unsteadily. He hiked himself up behind you, his arms resting comfortably on either side of you as he took the reins. You sped off down the trail, knowing you had a long ride of you.
"Attila," you say his name softly. He hums in response, alerting you that he was listening. "I'm sorry you got dragged into a mess like this because of me."
"Eh, my job would be a lot less exciting if you hadn't." He smiles playfully down at you. "Your Highness, you don't have to apologize. This is the type of work I expected to have." You struggled to suppress a yawn, leaning back into Attila's shoulder. "Rest as much as you can, we have a long journey ahead of us." You nodded, sparing a glance up at him. If you were this tired you could only imagine how exhausted he must be, yet he didn't waver for a moment. You were riding for almost a full day when you finally arrived back at the castle. Your horses galloping slowed as you reached the front gate, Attila carrying you inside.
"(Y/N)?" You hear your father's voice exclaim from the other end of a hallway. He rushed over to you and Attila.
"Your Majesty, the carriage was attacked by bandits-" you hear him start to explain as everything slowly faded away. When you awoke you groaned as you tried to move your heavy, aching limbs. The room was filled with golden sunlight, a vase full of vibrant wildflowers sat in the open window.
"Good morning." You turned to find your sister's physician, organizing his shelves of herbs.
"Mr. Hunt? What happened?" You struggled to sit up, your entire body was sore. You winced as you propped yourself up on your elbows. "How long have I been asleep?"
"Three days." He answers bluntly. "You fainted when you arrived back at the castle, you're down in my office so I can ensure that you were alright during your prolonged rest."
"And, Sir Attila? Is he alright?" You ask with a hint of nervousness in your voice. Mr. Hunt chuckles at your concern.
"He's just fine, Your Highness, no need to worry." He glances out the window. "I believe right now he's watching Sir Falk and your sister train?"
"My sister? Training?" You attempted to stand only to instantly collapse back into the cot. You remembered your younger sister jokingly saying she was going to learn how to wield a sword. "Mr. Hunt, would you be able to help me over to where she is?"
"Of course, Your Highness." Mr. Hunt takes your arm, helping you stand and slowly walk down the castle's endless hallways. You eventually came to the windows overlooking a clearing at the back of the castle grounds. You looked down to see your sister standing in a sword fighting stance, holding an incredibly long stick.
"Oi, Mimi!" Both of them jump, their eyes darting up to see you waving in the window. "What are you two doing?" You watch Falk suddenly step forward, catching your sister off guard, the force of his stick colliding with hers sending her tumbling onto the ground. Falk lets out a bellowing laugh, heading over to help her up, only for her to sweep his leg out from underneath him, causing him to fall to the ground at her side. You can't held but smile as you watch the two of them giggling the courtyard. Falk stumbled into a standing position, lugging your sister up after him.
"You stay right there! I have a bone to pick with you!" You laugh as you watch her hurry inside. She stomps down the hallway in your direction, Sir Falk jogging out behind her a few moments later. "Do you understand how worried you made us?" She crushes you in a hug, her voice cracking slightly as she holds back tears. You wrap your arms around her, holding her close.
"You can't get rid of your annoying older sister that easily." You joke. "Sir Falk." You greeted him with a knowing, inquisitive look. "I hear you're teaching my sister to fight? How has she been doing?"
He seemed to be a bit surprised that you weren't berating him for teaching her something so dangerous. "She's doing great even if she says otherwise." He nudges her slightly as she returns to his side, softly smiling down at her. "I'm glad you're alright, Your Highness." You nod your thanks to him.
"Where's everyone else?" You ask Mimi.
"Ducky is sitting with Roel in the garden, he got injured pretty badly on his last expedition. She's been keeping him company while he recovers. I'm sure the rest of them are scattered around the palace." She chuckles. "Attila was here a little while ago to… well he was about to come visit you." She smirks at you. Your eyes widened slightly, figuring now that you were returned safely to the castle walls Sir Attila would go back to wanting nothing to do with you.
"I, um, I think I'm going to go look for him. He'll probably be worried if he finds the bed empty." You chuckle nervously, Mr. Hunt assisting you once more. You watched as your sister and Sir Falk exchanged a glance.
"Sona?" You hum, looking back at her. "He seemed really worried about you." You struggled to keep the small smile off your face. Maybe the brute didn't hate you after all? Returning to the infirmary you found Sir Attila anxiously pacing in front of the door. You watched relief wash over him as he saw you up and walking.
"Your Highness." He takes a few hurried steps forward before he realizes how over excited he seemed. He slowed himself, gesturing delicately in your direction. "How are you feeling?"
"Sore, a bit tired, but overall not too bad." You manage a small laugh. "I can't thank you enough-"
"There's no need to thank me, I was simply doing what was expected of me." He states bluntly. You froze, a dull ache resonating in your chest as you realized this was really just work for him. "I was just checking to see whether or not you had woken up."
"Right, did you get a chance to speak with my father?" Your usual icy tone settled back into your words. Whatever friendliness he had displayed to you in the woods was long gone by now. He nods in response.
"I'm sure he'll want to hear things from your perspective." You nod.
"Of course." You force a tight smile onto your lips. "Well, I guess you can finally be dismissed." You thank Mr. Hunt before continuing through the halls the best you could on your own. You pushed open the door to your father's study, sitting there with his quill in hand as he steadily sorted through a stack of documents. The papers fluttered to his desk as he realized you were now standing in front of him.
"Thank heavens you're alright." He pulls you into a tight hug. "Attila told me everything, you don't have to discuss it if you don't want to." He pulls out one of the seats at his grand desk, motioning for you to sit before doing so on his own side. "I've already sent word to the Duke about what happened, you don't need to worry about a thing on that end."
"Father, is it really necessary to go through with this marriage with the Duke?" You ask him, propping your chin in the palm of your hand.
He sighs, "My darling girl, we've already discussed this. Your marriage to the Duke isn't for something trivial like an heir or wealth. Marrying him means we gain access to all of his lands resources-"
"Which raises the economy and brings forth the means for societal growth." You recite in a bored tone, unable to recount how many times you have had this conversation with your father.
"Exactly. I know you're not happy about it, but it's how things have to be done." He explains calmly.
"Father, I don't love him." You were being honest. Your usual mantra about the Duke immediately coming to mind 'a smart match, but so incredibly boring'. He was the furthest thing from what you wanted in a partner.
"You will learn to love him, sweetheart. Your mother and I weren't too fond of each other when we first got married either, if I'm being honest I don't think the woman could stand me." He chuckles. "But she became someone I knew I could rely on, she's my best friend."
"I don't want just a best friend, I want to be able to find my soul mate." Your voice soft and frail as you recounted the dreams of your future from when you were a child. "I want to marry someone that I can't stand to be away from for even a second, someone who challenges me to be the best version of myself, but is still gentle and kind enough to help me pick up the pieces if I fail."
"Trust me, my dear. I wish that was something I could give to you." He offers you a sad smile. "You going through with this marriage proves your resilience and your dedication to running this kingdom properly, and I'm so proud of you for doing so." You repressed a sigh, this conversation only cemented what you knew to be fact, you couldn't get through to him even if you tried. "Now, I'm sure you're still tired but you should go get properly dressed. I don't want my daughter walking around in front of the servants in a nightgown like some strumpet." You silently nodded as you dismissed yourself. You felt the strength in your legs slowly coming back. Your body still wrapped in a constant dull ache from your taste of battle. You headed back into your quarters, your handmaids immediately rushing to you.
"Good afternoon ladies, would one of you be kind enough to help me get dressed so I can go visit my sister's?" They all immediately got to work, pleasantly chatting with you and amongst themselves. You told them everything that had happened, the group of women hanging in your every word.
"I'm surprised he went out of his way to take such good care of you, that Attila can be such a brute." One of your handmaid's remarks as she works on the ties of your corset. There was a murmur of agreement amongst the group.
"Trust me, I was just as shocked as you were." You chuckle before letting out a soft sigh. "I don't know, part of me thinks I just imagined the whole thing. When I saw him earlier today he was just as cold and distant as ever."
"I wouldn't worry too much about it, Your Highness. Sir Attila has never been the most congenial of the Wolfborne Company. Besides, you went through a terrifying experience. It would only be natural to try and find some form of bond between you and your sole companion." You finish getting into your garments, all of them making sure everything was placed just the way you liked it. You dismiss all of them for the rest of the day, assuring them if you needed any assistance you would let them know.
You made your way down to the garden, spotting your sister propped up against a tree next to Roel. The two of them would occasionally point at the sky. "They must be cloud watching." You mutter under your breath. Ducky perks up when she notices you.
"Sona!" She yells, scrambling from the ground. You continue slowly in her direction, internally grimacing at how weak your body still felt. You pulled her into a tight hug. "I was so worried."
"I know, I'm sorry." You hold her tight. Ducky looked up to you as almost a mother figure. Where the Queen would be harsh and unforgiving you were understanding and gentle with your youngest sibling. You were someone she could look up to; strong, independent, not afraid to speak your mind despite the fact it could have repercussions.
"Your Highness, Attila told me everything, I'm glad both of you made it out unscathed." Roel's towering form throws the two of you into shadow.
"Roel, I'm glad to hear you're also alright. I heard you were hurt pretty badly." He shakes his head.
"It was just a scratch." At his remark Ducky winds up and punches him in the shoulder. "Hey, that wasn't nice." He says through his pretend hurt, rubbing his arm. She hissed softly as she shook out her hand.
"You almost died, stop trying to play it off." She argues. "He's lucky I found him and brought him to Mr. Hunt." He groans, wrapping an arm around her shoulder.
"She's never going to let me live this down." His annoyed expression quickly faded away to a smile. You chuckle at their antics. You were so happy to be home, to be able to see your sisters once more. Yet, you still couldn't shake the heavy feeling that had settled into your chest. You were becoming increasingly sure of one thing. Despite how much you had tried to convince yourself that you wanted nothing to do with Sir Attila, it was becoming impossible to ignore your hidden feelings for him. You almost laughed at the thought. Seeing Ducky and Roel act so friendly with each other, you wished you could have that type of relationship with Attila. However, you knew that was something that could never happen.
No matter your feelings you had a duty to uphold. Your life has already been perfectly mapped out for your success, you shouldn't stray from the course. Even if you did decide to indulge yourself in your little fantasy it's not as if Attila would ever possibly return your feelings, would he?
up late.. thinking of weevils
I'm up so that means yall are going to listen to me ramble about my fantribe weevilwings.
Lord Brimstone, cousin of Queen Cressida, Knight
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Highly disciplined and selfless to the point of extreme, he denies all royal spoils in favor of walking a knights path. He has yet to learn balance in this life as you cant truly put others before you for so long
Tumblr media
As most knights do they must go through Capella's cruel choice. Capella, goddess of the sun, calls forth her knights without pause... even for grief. Most suits of armor are passed down from mentor to student meaning to become a full knight your mentor must die. Truly the harshest moment of poor Brimstones life.
The weevilwing council isn't much for having the 4th in line for throne (hear brimstone eye roll) running around doing selfless knight work so they forbid him from doing it. Still he slips away at night.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another new adventure Brimstone is on is funding weevil islands house for dragonets. Not every hatchling and dragonet has a family. Spirit started this home by herself in an old abandoned army outpost but given the place was falling apart and constantly stolen from by theives she reached out to the council for help. Denied and sent home in tears, little did she know Brimstone had witnessed the meeting.
He now funds the home referred to as "The House of Brimstone" and does his best to personally protect it. Which helps his want to be selfless but can be difficult when dragonets are everywhere pulling on your beard, asking to borrow your chest plate for sledding, constantly getting stuck in your armor.... but still it feels nice to protect those in need... and visit spirit...
Note
To Fruiticious Anon, the DarkAge Clan is actually referencing a roblox group or clan called the DarkAge Ninjas, along with other roblox groups such as the Knights of the Redcliff, Korblox Empire, Knights of the Splintered Skies, and etc. Although, as far as I know, the Overseers didn't have an official lore group to them. These were managed by some former roblox administrators. If the DarkAge Clan is involved in the Theives' Den lore and Overseer in Lost Temple, then the other roblox groups would probably have something to do with the other factions, too.
I'm sorry, I know this isn't a place to yap about this type of stuff, but I wouldn't be able to clarify this to Anon anyway 😭 .
I'll detail below the cut relationships between some of them !
I YAP A LOT SORRY afpaehf
Malva (1m65) & Urbosa (1m80) - (Friends to lovers)
Malva's moodboard
Ship name is Malbosa or VoltFlower
Malva is the queen of hyrule/Zelda's mother ! They grew together !
They met in their childhood, their mothers already talked "diplomatically" together it was a date so they met during one of those meeting
Malva was a rather shy and quiet child, hating the ceremony due to all the noises and people and would found comfort by staying near Urbosa.
Urbosa was more of an energetic kid. She liked to think that she was like a knight in shining armor protecting Malva from the danger.
They got along really well !
As the princess, Malva sometimes would get attacked by theives (mostly Yiga) Urbosa tried to protect her despite being a little kid resulting in both of them getting injured most of the time.
So they grew up together, becoming closer. Both unlocking their powers (lighting/sealing) and Malva getting in an arranged marriage with Rhoam. Later on having Zelda !
Malva was interested by flowers and animals, her main interest was the Silent Princess, it wasn't endangered at the time. Malva and Urbosa tend to offer flowers to each others and they often dance together, especially during ceremony (Waltz sorta i think ?). Rhoam didn't realized they were in love with each others and genuinely thought they where just good friends. It was all peaceful and nice until one day :] Kohga tricked Malva by impersonating Urbosa, he won and killed her ! After the calamity, resulting in Urbosa's death and the 100 years trapped in Vah-Naboris, her spirit now free after the events of botw, she now can join the afterlife and is greeted by Malva. The two may now live together forever !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jasper (3m) & Urbosa (1m80) - (Friends to lovers)
Ship name is Jasbosa or StormShield
In the timeline, Urbosa is firstly with Malva, Malva die, and years later (5-10 years maybe ?) she wlw with Jasper
Jasper is Urbosa's 2nd, as such, she often stays with her. Jasper is actually rather overprotective of Urbosa, she knows she's a skilled fighter of course, it's more in case of.
Her thing is to get suspicious of every non Gerudo, thinking that everyone is a Yiga until proven otherwise, often leading to awkward situations...
She blames herself everytime Urbosa gets hurt (I let you imagine how she felt after the calamity <3)
At the time Urbosa was with the queen, Jasper was a bit jealous, she actually always saw Urbosa as more than her chief, but she knew it was no use, so she just kept her feelings for herself
Then Malva die, Jasper is the one staying the most with Urbosa to comfort her and all, so like trying to make her breakfast despite her terrible cooking, trying to sew her sand seal plushies and getting hurt more than once with the needle.
Years and years after the queen's death, Urbosa starts to realize Jasper's feelings and so they wuh luh wuh
Then Urbosa became champion, Jasper tried to convince her to not accept, judging it's way too dangerous (you know in Urbosa's diary when she mentions her people getting worried and thinking it's not a job for a chief)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Theresa (2m) & Selene (1m70) - (Lovers)
Their moodboard, cw suggestive quotes
Ship name is RoyalEclipse
Theresa is Urbosa's mother and Selene is Malva's mother, so respectfully the Gerudo chieftain and Queen of their time They're both really good, respected and powerful leaders
The sun and moon ! Theresa calls Selene Moonlight and Selene calls Theresa Sunshine Both usually had a husband for the only sake of having a daughter (to keep the royal bloodlines blah blah blah) but then both left them to marry each others.
While it doesnt seems like this. Selene is actually the one flirting the most, and Theresa become tomato very easily They love to use the "diplomatic meeting" excuse to planify dates, dancing together will fighting !!
Theresa, just like Urbosa, uses a daybreaker shield and scimitar of the Seven. Selene uses a golden claymore
Tumblr media
Aloe (2m80) & Vera (2m35) - (Friends to lovers)
Not really developped as of now Vera is a nurse in town, she gets easily anxious with her job and the near calamity. Aloe is the inn owner, doing wonderful massages Naturally Aloe worry about Vera and make sure to give her the best massages, often the only thing able to calm Vera down..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scarlet (2m90) & Lilith (1m78) - (Rivals to lovers)
Lilith belongs to @y0urlocalhimbo ! Their moodboard - Their playlist Scarlet Moodboard - Scarlet playlist
Ship name is BakedBlood !
Basically sort of like partner in crimes, both double spy Gerudo/Yiga, so they both want Urbosa dead.
They were rivals until Lilith decided, out of boredom, to flirt with Scarlet.
Lilith sometimes bake poisonned cookies for her ennemies and Scarlet... likes to.. eat them... and somehow still is not dead ?
You've seen him before but here's! The rest of him!
It's Gerrik! Worlds goodest boy!!!! ^w^)/
Lore under the cut~!
The first of Helena's five warriors Gerrik is a castle knight in training to become a Man of the Kingdom; A special position that works closely with king Auriel to aid the people of the Underworld get through times of hardship, ease conflict between kingdoms, and defend against powerful magical threats (botched summonings, random magical events, evil wizards, remnants of the servants of Urlac etc etc.).
The insignia around his neck marks him as a member of The First Born; several families that make up the oldest lines of draconic ancestry, who long ago swore oaths to both Dreor and Auriel to serve the needs of the underworld at their side.
He is a strong man with a kind and gentle heart. Confident, level-headed, firm in his sense of duty and responsibility, but still jovial, laid-back, and, at times, perhaps a little corny; he accepts Helena's recruitment easily and falls right into the roll of Gaurdian/caretaker for the young princess.
From his perspective; what she's set out to do will be dangerous and she is still a child, Gerrik could not in good concious let her leave the kings city on her own. (It was also his suggestion that Muto stick around, at least for a while, after the three successfully thwart a plan to steal from the palace catacombs, and successfully reseal the spirits accidentally released by the would-be theives.... which is the actual entire plot of the first book)
Finally got my Skyrim load order figured out and decided to return to my favorite Dragonborn duo! Harri and Harrin!
Tumblr media
Idk if I ever made an explanation post of who these lovely two are well here we go!
Harri and Harrin are Nord/Redgaurd twins who are, of course, both the dragonborn. However, while one is happy to be the great hero of Legends, the other isn't so much.
Tumblr media
Harri, the brother, always adored hearing stories of great warriors and knights. He dreamed of one day becoming a legend like those stories. His most notable achievement before becoming the Dragonborn is being the one who helped end the Civil War.
Harri is sweet, friendly, and loves meeting new people!
Harrin is somewhat the opposite.
Tumblr media
Harrin likes to keep to herself and her craft. Her main achievement being the guns she create.
Where Harri is friendly and social, Harrin looks after her brother and her creations, and tends to avoid social interactions.
While Harri was out at war, Harrin was back home trying to keep the Stormcloak's mitts off her guns.
By the time the Empire won the war, Harri returned home, and the two siblings decided to travel for a time. Later, they would separate again, during which Harri would be discovered as dragonborn.
Harrin would find her own trouble in the Theives Guild and some Daedric plots.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The main gimmick of these two was to find a way to play with proteus and make sense why other npcs would think one did something the other did. So, stories would spread across Skyrim of a Nord with silver hair and eyes, unaware that the legends sometimes spoke of Harri, and sometimes Harrin.
I'm so happy to play with them again, though now I need to figure out an order to do certain quests.
Bonus picture: Think, Harri! Think!
Collective nouns for some Homestuck classes bc I thought this idea was silly:
A band of Bards
A gallery of Rogues
A court of Princes
A guild of Theives
An order of Knights
A council of Seers
A duty of Maids
Feel free to contribute any other ideas/alternatives :D
Got my Haru headcanons, cause let's be real they did her dirty with the lack of screentime
Oooh I absolutely adore Haru so of course
Tumblr media
(w a lil okujima 🥰)
Her mother was French. Though she never knew her that's probably what subconsciously drew her to the language (she's fluent) and interest in it's culture. As well as literature. This is something her and Ren surprisingly bonded over, often discussing it over coffee.
^^^(Makoto has occasionly joined them on these outings and found herself stumped on the topic for once. The one time they convinced Ryuji to come he near fell asleep, though surprisingly seemed to take some of it in.)
She had a very brief crush on Ren when she first met him. Though honestly, looking back she thinks it was more the idea of him. At the time she felt this need for some sort of saviour white knight figure and he seemed to fit the bill. He turned her down pretty quickly because his interest lied elsewhere. And she soon figured out hers did as well, the two wound up confiding in eachother about it.
Despite her father having had her tutored in pretty much every subject, the one thing she never quite seemed to master was an instrument.
After her father's passing, she had real trouble returning to that big house all alone. Not the mention the way it already made her feel, boiling up memories of his last few years she'd much rather forget. Knowing that, Makoto had offered to let her crash at hers. Which she did one night, then two, until it came to the point she essentially never left. With that said, it took Sae a good two months to realise there was a third person living in their apartment and another few months to actually find the time to actually take the time to speak to her.
It took her twice as long to realise the two of them had started dating. That had happened around the beginning of the Phantom Theives infiltration of Sae's palace. Noir had constantly been flirting with Queen back and forth whenever they were in mementos. It took Makoto a concerning amount of time to realize Haru wasn't just messing around with her.
It seemed all the Phantom Theives were all being truer versions of themselves while I the meta verse, but for Haru it was all the more extreme having been forced to suppress everything to spare her father's public image. She hadn't realised how embedded into her subconscious it was. It was only really with Makoto she'd managed to feel comfortable expressing herself that way all the time, and over time she became more comfortable with the others too.
Feeling bad for essentially lodging in Sae and Makoto's house Haru tried to contribute to cleaning and cooking. Only she, of course, had never done either a single time in her life and somehow was prolifically bad at both. Causing more mess than she aimed to clean and creating food that might have actually been radioactive.
Makoto offered to teach Haru how to cook a few basic meals. At first these often resulted in some sort of fire or terrible mishap. But slowly and surely her food became somewhat edible.
She became a little too confident too quickly and decided to make all their friends the most insanely spicy curry known to man on a night in at leblanc (albeit, her own taste buds seem to be immune to spice, so that may be the only place the error lies). Makoto gave everyone a heads up to "please just be nice", and so they had prepared to hold in any I'll feeling. But it was just to much for Ryuji and Ann to handle, both of them throwing up into the nearist container (being a plant pot and a half full bag of coffee) and screaming about it for a solid 10 minutes.
(both of them felt immensely guilty afterwards)
On the topic of Ryuji, the two of them surprisingly became incredibly good friends. It started because Haru had wanted to start training in the gym to build some more strength up and feel more secure after everything. Ryuji had offered to go with her, honestly missing having a gym buddy since Ren moved back to Tokyo. There schedules happened to line up pretty well so it round up becoming and regular thing. Sometimes they head down Ogikubo for some ramen (which is usually Harus treat).
She often gets frustrated just hearing about Yusuke's living situation and just shows up with bags of groceries to make sure he's eating right. Thing is he's not exactly a pro cook either and has been seen eating whole bell peppers and calling it a meal.
It was with Yusuke and Ann on a random shopping trip they round up bumping into Sugimura. It was only for a moment, he hadn't ever tried to speak to her. But just seeing him knocked her out of spirits for the whole day.
Things like that happened quite a bit, something would cross her mind. About him or her father, or the dozens of other investor friends who'd make a crude or sleezy comment about her he'd just let slide by. The others had learned to clock it from the way she'd get all quiet and seem to leave the room mentally. Thing was, most of them didn't really know what to do to help her. Other than Yusuke of all people, partly because he had similar moments himself. The two discuss it once and a while.
Despite everything, she still has an incredibly hard time expressing herself whenever somethings wrong. So much so she often doesn't and winds up bottling everything up or keeping important things to herself. She doesn't even realise she's doing it until someone calls her out on it, usually Makoto. At first she doesn't quite get Why Haru is doing it and winds up getting upset, which only serves to make everything worse. It takes a pretty big argument for Makoto to realise this is partly stemming from the trust issues Haru has and a fear of abandonment that isn't at all surprising. They managed to work through it though it's inevitably still hard for Haru to feel safe making herself vulnerable like that. But Makoto is constantly reminding her she's not going anywhere.
She's getting mentoring from Sojiro on how to run a cafe. She works in Leblanc on her days off college. Futaba usually comes around to pay her company when she is, which annoys Sojiro as she's "Distracting his staff" from the two customers they get every 3 hours.
Sae also pops in there most nights after work and offers to give her a ride home. The two of them get along quite well. One of these late night drives home, Sae hadn't had a chance to eat due to being busy with work all day and her stomach was growling embarrassingly loud. Whilst she apologised Haru simply suggested they stop by a Big Bang Burger drive through. They eat Burgers in the car but forgot to get one for Makoto, so tried to hide it when they got home. Which they failed at immensely, which Makoto sulked about just long enough for Haru to make a phone call for someone to deliver them one of the ridiculous big bang challenge burgers. Only for her to suddenly turn around and say she didn't actually want a burger and was just sulking for sulkings sake. It got Haru really vexed, which was probably part of the goal. As admittedly Makoto found it cute when her girlfriend got in a tissy about something stupid.
At some point Haru had gotten to calling Makoto and Sae's house "home". Even though she had her own home only a couple miles away she seemed to not only enter when she needed something from her room or needed somewhere to discuss important matters about her father's company. Though she'd chosen to take a backseat every now and then there was a matter she'd need to approve on.
When she did stay at home she usually took one of the dozen shirts of Makoto's she'd claimed to sleep in.
At one point before Ren left they all had a big sleepover in the house. Having everyone else there made it feel warm again. Since then she's felt a lot more comfortable being there for longer periods when she needs to be.
The house has a home cinema they of course chose to use. But they made the mistake of letting Haru pick the film, every single one of them scarred for life by the gore fest she put on. Other than Yusuke, who was just offended by the bad composition of the cinematography.
The home cinema is of course fully stocked up with the most gruesome horror flicks ever put to film, as well as her father's old Sci fi collection she happily donated to Futaba, who'd geeked out over it immensely.
Futaba had gotten Haru into video games as well. Something she hadn't had the chance to indulge in before. Theyre usually talking on headset together wile playing some first person shooter all night while Makoto's still studying. Haru gets just a little too into it sometimes (it brings out her sadistic side) and starts cussing out and screaming at the screen. Which cracks Futaba up every time.
The Phantom Theives gc is always full of voice notes of Haru yelling "Just Die you f**ing f***face" and alike out of context at 2am through the low bass crackly sound of Futabas headset speakers.
A lot of the time her and Ann go out clothes shopping. Though their taste is vastly different. Yusuke tends to tag along to people watch, because Ann told him he can't go and do that by himself without coming off as a creep.
There's a particular set of photos they all took in a booth together Haru has hung on her (Makoto's) wall. In which Yusuke just looks rather bewildered at what's happening until the last shot. It makes her chuckle every time she sees it.
She misses Morgana a lot when he goes with Ren back to his hometown. Mainly because he can't exactly type her a text. Ren winds up saying he'll help him sned her voice messages, which winds up taking up so much of his time he just sacrifices his phone to the cat to sit on call for 2 hours once a week. God knows how he has so much to talk about,, being a cat. It gets a few odd stares off of his parents.
(I may possibly have more of these to add in a later post, so let's call this part 1?)
Can I have a knight kurapika saving female reader from yandere warlock theif chrollo you can add nsfw if you want and nen
light nsfw afab reader
You kissed him goodbye with a sorrowful smile. He had to go, no matter how much you both wanted him to stay. Kurapika adorned his Knight's cloak and chestplate amour, the metal cold against your chest as you hugged him and sent him off on his way.
Unbeknownst to you, the man Kurapika was hunting, a thieving warlock watched from afar.
Chrollo had been watching you since his last mission. A simple heist that he almost failed because he couldn't keep his eyes of you.
Something about how you swayed your hips as you walked or how your eyes lit up with emotion drove Chrollo insane.
This was his chance, his chance to finally take you as his. To steal you away from that stingy little knight.
He summoned his bandit book like he had a million times before, casting a bewitching spell he conjured up the image of a hurt kitten. Knowing that you were too sweet and whole hearted to leave a hurt kitten alone in the cool autumn air.
The kitten hollered only a few moments before you came rushing out the door and to the rescue.
But Chrollo was waiting for you.
His arms wrapped tightly around you, restraining almost all movements as you desperately tried to wiggle free.
Tired of your struggling, he casted a sleeping spell over you.
Waking up, your eyes began to adjust to the damp and erie shack you were in. You began to struggle against the chains holding you there.
A smooth and soft voice rang through your ears.
"Darling, I'm so glad you're awake."
His voice held no malice, but you could feel the dangerous aura oozing from him.
He stepped into the light and only then could you make out the delicate, yet handsome features of your capturer.
Chrollo, the theiving warlock who Kurapika left you to hunt. If he had only stayed a little longer. You thought as you struggled once more against the chains.
"It's pointless, my dear."
Your capturer's voice rang out again through the grimy old building.
"They're nen chains, much like the ones your precious knight in shining amour uses. They're simply unbreakable."
Chrollo began to walk closer. His footsteps echoed through the walls, sending shivers down your spine with every step.
"Do you know how long I've waited for this? To finally have you."
Closer.
"To see you, your pretty little eyes with that determined and optimistic look."
Standing in front of you he kneeled down to whisper in your ear.
"You think he's going to save you, don't you?"
He took his finger and slid it between the chains over your mouth, pulling them loose so you could speak.
"You won't, he won't let you get away with this!"
You spat at him with as much anger as you could muster.
"Oh darling, perhaps I need to persuade you."
He stayed kneeling beside you, his finger coming up to twist around a lock of your hair.
"Then maybe you'll see my side of things."
His other hand crept dangerously close to your chest.
You squirmed against the chains, pulling away from him.
"Darling, please don't pull away. I only wish to make you feel good."
His fingertips brushed gently against your collar bones.
"Please just give me a chance, a chance to show you how much better I can treat you."
His cold fingertips against your bare neck and jaw as well as his warm breath fanning across you ear sent jolts down to your core.
You don't know why you agreed, something about the suave in his voice and the pleading tone he took made you curious. It made your head spin.
You nodded slowly and he wasted no time letting his hands slip into your blouse. His cold hands brushed against your bare nipples and you moaned out loud at the sensation.
"Oh God, you sound so perfect. Such a shame that little knight has to keep you all for himself."
His hands groped even harder at your chest.
Your face flushed and Chrollo groaned at the sight. He finally got to touch you, after waiting and watching for so long.
The sound of glass shattering broke your feelings of bliss.
"Chrollo."
The familiar voice called out from behind you.
Thank god he was behind you, otherwise he would have seen the look of pure lust painted across your face.
Shaking it all away you called out desperately for him.
"Kurapika! Kurapika I'm over here!"
You squirmed against the chains harshly and Chrollo smirked at you before standing up to face Kurapika.
"Sir Kurapika, might we discuss this elsewhere? I wouldn't want to offend the little lady."
Kurapika must of silently agreed because you heard their footsteps drift into the other room.
You could hear arguing then what had to be an altercation by the sound of it.
You shut your eyes tightly, praying to whatever god that would listen, Kurapika would be okay.
It must've worked because there he kneeled, loosening your chains and pulling you free.
"Are you alright, my love?"
You nodded and leaned against him as he help you stand up.
"Let's just go home."
Although you were shaken by the experience, you couldn't help but wonder about Chrollo.
okay that's all sorry it's super short
ava sticktober prompt 1: sticks flowers
Tumblr media
YEAH i know day one is sticks but i couldn't muster up the energy to draw every single stick or even just every member of the cg. my bad
i did however grab the opportunity to draw a scene from the new chapter of my fic where blue gives purple flowers though so there's that. i will also post the actual chapter and pretend it's for sticktober here
(below cut)
That evening, when Purple was escorted back to his room, his mind was filled with questions.
Why did Duke Green and Baron Rowan forgive him so easily? Was there any deeper meaning to what the Duke had said, or was he really just giving Purple advice? People didn't normally just- give random tips to their opponent, not unless they wanted to lose. Was this a Hollowic Empire custom?
There was the issue of the mission the King had given him too— steal the Craft Gemstone. Three days after arrival, and the prince hadn't even looked into the possible location of the gemstone.
For a moment, Purple felt irritated; Why would they brother task them something so difficult? There were theives and mercenaries all across the country that could do this job a million times better, especially considering the fact that basically everyone in the empire would have their eyes on Purple. They weren't even good at fighting! Why them?
Fucking hell.
They flopped onto their bed, groaning. This was way too much for them to deal with tonight. They'd much rather just sleep and not have to deal with any of this. Maybe if things went right, they wouldn't have to wake up.
___________________
He slept through the whole night.
If he dreamed, he couldn't remember it, save for the lingering feeling of sadness that he often woke up with.
He would've rolled over and closed his eyes again, a futile effort to sleep for a bit longer, but the sunlight streaming through the curtains told him there was no point.
Purple took a deep breath, savoring his last moments in the comfort of his bed, before swiftly sitting up to get ready for the day. He drearily threw the sheets off himself and stood up, straightening his nightdress. The servants had already taken out his clothes for the day, as per his request, so that was one thing out of the way.
Getting ready took around an hour and a half—- the prince had only worn the barest of clothes: a simple white shirt, jacket and a pair of trousers. He didn't intend to do much today, head still swarming with emotions from the duel the previous day. He didn't quite want to address that.
Often, when he didn't feel like dealing with the pressures of socializing and high society, he would withdraw to his room for days at a time, focusing solely on his work to the point he forgot to eat and drink. It was unhealthy, he knew, but it helped him wind down.
This was one of those times. And since Purple couldn't exactly work while in a foreign city, he'd have to settle for reading books instead.
“Kombu, please get someone to bring me a few books on history and mythology,” He called out, not bothering to open the door.
Kombu Cone was the knight that the King had sent to protect Purple during the trip. They hadn't spoken much, but the knight seemed content to obey his orders with any conversation, and Purple was more than happy to do the same.
A small grunt of confirmation sounded from outside the door. After what felt like forever, a servant scurried into the room, holding a small pile of books.
“These are the librarian's recommendations; Please let us know if there are any specific books you would like to read,” the servant said. Purple nodded at her, and she quickly exited the room with a bow.
He grabbed the first book off the pile, inspecting the cover. 'The history of Dojo Duel Tournaments', the title read.
Purple hummed, running his finger down the side of the book. Dueling Tournaments were a large part of culture across the world, but they weren't very important in the Nether Kingdom. Back home, the warriors prided themselves more on battle strategies and war tactics rather than competitive fighting, and the books in the Royal Palace's library reflected this.
This was the first time Purple had picked up a book on the subject, but it never hurt to learn more about other cultures. He flipped open the book and began to read.
A few days passed like this; Purple would spend the whole day at his desk or in his bed reading, only taking breaks to sleep, eat, and bathe.
Occasionally, he heard muttering outside — Hollowic servants questioning the knights and servants that had accompanied him about whether it was normal for the prince to stay in his room for this long.
He didn't bother to pay much attention to those conversations.
Instead, he preferred to dive deeper into his books, living out the stories. That was what he loved about reading. It was like travelling to different time periods and countries, all within the safety of his room. This especially rang true with history and mythology, the latter often serving to entertain him with ridiculous stories attempting to explain the various natural phenomenons of their world.
Plus, it was fun to pick out the themes found throughout the various mythologies. Ancient Hollowic mythology seemed to place a lot of emphasis on tragedies and redemption, for example. This was a stark contrast to the stories Purple had been raised with, all detailing tales of war and over-convoluted revenge. He cringed, recalling the one where two groups of people played hot potato with a magical staff in an ongoing battle for weeks. Clearly, the writers of that one weren't sure how to create effective tension.
_____________
A knock sounded at the prince's door, breaking their focus.
Shit, they'd just been getting to the most interesting part. They opened their mouth, preparing to just order whoever it was to leave, when the person spoke.
“Your highness, a letter has arrived from the King of the Nether Kingdom.”
Oh, shit!
“Bring it in!” Purple called out, voice slightly pitched. They'd forgotten about their brother and the mission entirely, too engrossed in reading. Was the King upset that he'd yet to send a letter detailing what he'd done?
The door opened with a click, and the servant scurried in, dropping the letter on the desk and leaving the room.
Purple got up from their bed, making their way over to the desk. They moved to pick up the letter, before pausing.
Did he really want to deal with another one of the King's thinly veiled scoldings, ranting in formal language about how Purple had 'disappointed him' and 'wasn't doing the one job he'd asked' and all that crap? Even though a small part of him felt guilty thinking of his brother in such a negative light, he still felt a little resentful.
They dropped their hand, shaking their head. Nope! Not now. If the King got impatient, they could just blame it on the distance. For now, they would do something else.
'What to do, what to do...'
They could just continue reading... but honestly, they'd lost the mood now.
Maybe a walk would help.
The prince threw open the door, walking straight out and down the hallway, only to bump right into Second.
“Purple, what a surprise to see you here!” He exclaimed, raising an hand to his mouth as if to emphasize his shock. Purple raised a brow, tilting them head to see all four of Second's friends looking at them with varying levels of interest— and not a hint of surprise.
“Really, what a surprise for you to bump into me just a few meters down the hall from the room I reside in,” They drawled. They didn't fail to notice the way Blue frowned, likely because of how they weren't playing along with... whatever this was supposed to be.
”Yes, yes, so shocking!” Second agreed, wow the boy was bad at acting. “But anyways, since we've happened upon each other, would you like to accompany my friends and I to the Imperial Gardens?”
Purple replied without hesitation, “Of course,” because what were they supposed to do, say no to the Imperial Prince who also happened to be their host?
Second nodded, apparently satisfied with his answer, and beckoned to follow him. “This way, then!”
The six of them started off on their walk towards the gardens in silence. Unsure what else to do, Purple decided to observe Second's noble friends ('noble' was a stretch— Baron Rowan was among the lowest of ranks, and Blue and Yellow didn't seem to have any titles at all. Honestly, they seemed less like his friends and more like the prince's band of servants).
Duke Green was, as always, dressed handsomely for the occasion. If someone were to ask Purple, they'd say he was overdressed, but he did not voice this thought out loud. They were probably on bad enough terms already.
Yellow and Blue were whispering to each other, just like they'd been the day before. If Purple strained his ears, he could hear them chuckle every few minutes. The pair were obviously close. He couldn't help but find this odd, considering all he'd heard about Blue was that she and Baron Rowan were very close friends. But again, he supposed people could have multiple best friends.
They reached the gardens relatively quickly, and gods, it was beautiful.
Purple had been to many castles, mansions and palaces before. Never had he seen a garden of such scale— not even his own palace's gardens compared.
The place was like a canvas littered with splotches of color, each bush covered in healthy, vibrant flowers. From lilies to columbines to daffodils, the garden was bursting with radiant hues that made Purple's jaw drop.
“Hey,” Someone called out, and it took Purple a moment to realise that Blue was talking to him. Leaf was stood near a row of brilliant indigo flowers, gesturing for Purple to come over. The prince obliged, stepping carefully as to ensure he didn't crush any plants.
“Blue. Hello.” Purple greeted with as graceful a tone as he could muster. He had a tendency to come off as irritated even when he wasn't, so he had to go the extra length to make sure no one was put off by him.
“Prince Aster, look at these,” Blue said proudly, motioning to the flowers. “These were the first flowers I grew in the Imperial Palace. They're called bluebells.”
Purple blinked in surprise, eyebrows raising a little. He knew they were bluebells, of course—- what surprised him was the first thing Blue had said. “You're one of the royal gardeners?” He questioned.
Blue fiddled with her hands, shaking leafs head. “Not officially, no, but I will be soon! Chosen allowed me to plant some things because I was learning, and also because I'm cool as fuck-" Leaf struck a dramatic pose to emphasize his point, and Purple had to hold back a giggle, "Once I turn 18, I will officially be appointed as one of the royal gardeners."
"That's wonderful,” Purple smiled.
The pair lapsed into silence for a bit. He had to salvage this— he didn't want any of Second's friends to dislike him, or else Second himself might start to avoid him.
Purple fumbled for something to say, “Did you know that certain flowers can have special meanings? Orchids, for example, are used to symbolize elegance, gracefulness and beauty. They remind me of my mother. It's fitting that she was named after them.”
Purple paused, realising Blue had gone completely silent. Had he spoken a little too much, or said something out of line-? Maybe it was condescending to talk to Blue as if they knew more about flowers than leaf, or maybe-
"Do you have any other flowers that remind you of people?" Blue asked, breaking the pause.
…They wanted to hear more? That was a first. Well, Purple wasn't about to turn down the opportunity to discuss something they liked.
Even then, they didn't quite know how to answer the question. He tended to assign flowers to most interesting people that he met, even if he'd only met them once. It was like second nature— Clematis for the viscount he'd met at the reception, Cattails for Kombu who seemed invisible and yet was always nearby, and for his brother…
"Well, I don't think about it particularly much." He responded. "But if you'd like to hear about any specific flower- or person- I wouldn't mind telling you."
"What flower would you associate with Second?" Blue asked, so quickly that it caught Purple off-guard.
"Well, the Imperial Prince…" He was naive, for one. Despite being the crown prince of the Empire, he likely didn't do much other than hold the title. He seemed carefree in a way, unbothered by the expectations of the citizens of the Empire, nobles and commoners alike. When he smiled, it was like the sun itself had emerged to greet you. And no matter how many mistakes Purple made, or how much they offended him and his friends, Second was always willing to help them and give them another chance.
"Crocus. They symbolize youth, and cheerfulness."
Blue nodded, smiling. "What about Green, and Red?"
"Red?" Purple tilted his head.
"Oh, Baron Rowan Redmond— we call her Red for short."
Purple chuckled. "You and your friends really like color nicknames, don't you? You're like a whole rainbow."
"Yep!" Blue agreed, popping the p. "Yellow's full name isn't even close to the word Yellow, honestly. We just chose it so he'd fit in. Their actual name is Beryl Fairman."
"As in, Marquis Beryl Fairman?" Purple blurted out, surprised. So Yellow hadn't just been some servant or low-rank noble, but a Marquis from one of the more well-known families of the Hollowic Empire. How had he not noticed?
"Yes. She doesn't really like all the fanfare, though. She prefers to just tell people her nickname instead." Purple nodded, understanding. From what he'd read up on the House of Fairman, they were well-respected within the Empire, both for their intelligence and their beauty. Many of the heirs and heiresses of the family ended up betrothed to one of the members of the royal family.
Did that mean Yellow and Second were engaged, then?
Purple frowned a little at the idea. He didn't know why, but it left a sour taste in his mouth.
"As for your earlier question, I'd say that Duke Green resembles an Amaryllis. It symbolizes pride. Baron Rowan would be an Iris— humble, and wise."
Blue barked out a laugh. "HA! Wise? Oink's far from wise, I tell ya. She is humble, you got that right, but the only thing she actually knows anything about is animals. She'd take a brawl over a book any day."
"So… more like a Geranium, then," Purple decided. "It means strength, and good friendship, but certain variants can also refer to… a lower intelligence."
"You can just call moo stupid, you know," Blue joked. "What about Yellow? Wait, no, what flower would you assign me?"
"For Yellow, I would say a rosemary." Purple didn't know much about Yellow, so that was mostly a guess. The marquis was likely intelligent too, so a flower to connotate wisdom would do, but that was about as much as he could figure out. "Blue, I'd say you remind me of a Jasmine Flower. Cheerful and amiable."
Blue's face lit up so bright, Purple thought for a moment that he was looking at a star. "Really? Thank you!"
He shook his head, cheeks heating up a little. "It's nothing, really. I'm just saying what I see."
"Well, it's still a compliment, so I'll take it all the same." Blue smiled. "You know, you're really smart, your highness. I've never met someone as knowledgeable about flowers as you."
Purple shrugged lightly. "Most people in high society know about these things. I'm not very special in that regard. We use flowers to send messages all the time. Like bluebells, for example," He touched one of the bluebells next to the pair, "are used to say 'I forgive you'."
Blue suddenly sat straight up, and Purple flinched back a little, surprised by the sudden motion.
"Is something wrong, Blue?"
"No. But watch this," He smiled, plucking off several bluebells and quickly weaving them together— oh, a flower crown! After about a minute, he finished the crown, and held it out to Purple.
Blue giving Purple a flower crown made from bluebells.
"Here! 'I forgive you'. You know, for the thing you said about me and Red at the reception." Purple looked down at the crown, a little dumbstruck, and then laughed softly.
"Thank you, Blue." He said earnestly, taking the flower crown and placing it upon his head.
Blue waved him off. "You're welcome." After a moment of quiet, she added, "You seem very nice, your highness. I'm sure the others would want to be friends with you. I know I definitely do." Blue pointed out.
Purple didn't respond, unsure what to say. Thankfully, Blue seemed to understand his hesitation. "You don't have to be our friend if you don't want to. But a rainbow isn't really complete without purple."
Band of Sisters, Band of Thieves (Medieval! Powerwolf x Fem! Princess! Reader) - Part IV
Tumblr media
WARNINGS: Mentions of blood
Part III - Part V
My Masterlist! ~ AO3 Link!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You forced the smile to stay on your lips as you walked side by side with your mother. She rattled on and on about how you and your sisters needed to maintain your royal duties. "I don't like how much you girls fraternize with those mercenaries, they're from a much lower class, if it wasn't for your father I would have had them all executed by now." You resisted the urge to roll your eyes. She was insufferable when she got into the topic of your fondness of the Wolfborne Company.
"I don't think class should matter. They've all been nothing but upstanding gentlemen towards us, not to mention how many times they've defended the kingdom." You kept your tone pleasant, a carefully calculated personality you always had to keep up in front of her. Before she had a chance to snap back at your statement you headed for your chambers. "Excuse me mother, I'm feeling a bit tired." The second you were turned away from her you let your composure crack, a scowl finding its way to your face. You rushed down the hall, not wanting to give her a chance to try and follow you. You let out a sigh of relief as you closed your door behind you. A startled squeak escaped you as a pair of warm lips crashed against yours. You found yourself caged between your lover's arms as he pressed you back against the cool wooden slab. "Matthew!" You slap him lightly on the chest, trying to steady yourself from the very welcomed head rush his kiss always gave you. "What if my mother had been with me."
"Relax beautiful, if you didn't see me when you walked in she definitely wouldn't have." He chuckles at your annoyed expression, playfully pinching your cheek. "I wanted to see you before I set off, is that such a terrible thing?" You couldn't keep up the façade of being angry with him any longer, your expression softening as gave your waist a gentle squeeze.
"You weren't supposed to be leaving on another expedition for at least a couple months." You tried your hardest to hide the disappointment in your voice. You knew Matthew being away for extended periods of time just happened to be the fate of falling in love with a mercenary, but you'd be lying if you said if it didn't hurt to watch him leave each time.
"Roel never came back." He states simply. He knew you would understand the severity of the situation from this information alone. You sigh, pulling him into a tight embrace.
"Just, please, be safe. My heart couldn't take it if something happened to you." He cradles you in his arms as if you were a delicate flower.
"I believe I made you a promise." You didn't have to look up at him to hear the smile in his voice. "Would you like to remind me of what it was?"
You pulled back, your eyes meeting his. "That you would always come home to me."
"Have I broken that promise?" He sways slightly, almost as if he was trying to dance you around without any music. You giggle at his actions.
"Not once." You rest your hand on the side of his face, happy to be able to have tranquil moments like this with him, regardless how few and far between they might be. "Do you ever think about us running away together?"
"My love, we've talked about this. If we ran away together every man in this kingdom would be sent to hunt me down." You had joked about it in the beginning. Your relationship with Matthew wasn't supposed to be anymore than a fling, a rebellious act against your parents strict rules. When the two of you had first started seeing each other you would soon wild tales of running off into the woods and never looking back. That all started to change when Matthew began to see a future with you.
"Life on the run isn't suitable for a princess." The two of you say in unison.
"I want to give you the sun, moon, and stars… I can't do that being a known fugitive." He chuckles. You stood in silence for a moment.
"Would it be alright if I saw you off?" He offers you his arm with a soft smile.
"It would be an honor, Your Highness." You peek your head outside of your room, carefully scanned up and down the hall to ensure no one would see the two of you leaving your quarters together. You gave Matthew's arm a gentle squeeze, releasing your grip on him as you step into the hall. You walk an acceptable distance apart from him down the hall, your gaze trained straight ahead. "You always look so stern when you're out in the open." He chuckles, copying your targeted, straight forward gaze.
"I don't want anyone to be suspicious, I'm not going to have you getting in trouble." You allowed yourself to glance over at him, a gentle smile resting on his lips.
"Always so careful." He teases. "Where's the fun in that?" You scoffed, rolling your eyes, causing him to chuckle once more. "I don't want you to worry too much while I'm gone, Roel probably just took a wrong turn somewhere and is behind."
"Just… don't be reckless." You sigh. You always worried whenever he left. Despite how talented you knew he was, mercenary work was dangerous. Constantly having to fight just to stay alive. You were grateful every time he managed to find his way back into your warm embrace, where you would never let any harm come to him if you could help it.
He casts a look over his shoulder to make sure no one had emerged behind you. "My darling girl, I can promise you I'll be as careful as possible." You breathe out a laugh, smiling down at your feet. "All I can think of when I'm away is coming home to you. Seeing your smile, your beautiful eyes, hearing your melodic voice. I miss you terribly the moment you are out of my sight."
"You flatter me, Sir Matthew." You click your tongue. "What has such a plain girl like me done to deserve the affection of you?"
"Oh, you're anything but plain, Your Highness." You catch him glancing at you out of the corner of your eye. "You are by far the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my entire life." You giggle, a blush quickly spreading across your cheeks.
"Matthew?"
"Yes, my love?"
"I want to marry you someday."
"I feel the same." You both shared a small smile. The two of you engaged in some casual small talk as you made your way through the vacant halls. Eventually you found yourself standing in front of the castle gates, joining the rest of the Wolfborne Company. "I should only be a day or two at most." You reach out, taking his hand in yours.
"Come home quickly, I'll miss you too much." You knew he couldn't risk kissing you out here, one of the castle guards might see. But he knew. Matthew knew how much you longed to have his lips on yours, sharing in one more passionate embrace before he went on his way.
"We'll keep a good eye on him Princess, no need to worry." Charles offers you a kind smile. You look at the group.
"Gentlemen, good luck, and be safe. I'm sure you'll find Roel." They all offer you their thanks. You stood at the gates as they all rode off into the woods, your heart heavy as you watched Matthew disappear into the tree line. A sad smile found its way to your lips as you head back towards the castle. Your attention was caught by a figure darting behind the gate's archway. You were met with your older sister's embarrassed expression as she realized she had been caught. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" You tease her with a giggle. "You came to see Sir Falk off, didn't you?" She rolled her eyes.
"Of course not." She scoffs. "I just thought it was odd that he and Charles were out here waiting, I wanted to know what was going on." The two of you start walking back down the main path together. "So that's why Ducky seemed so upset." She remarks about your youngest sister.
"Roel's been teaching her Dutch." You tell her. "She's practically fluent at this point." Your sister pauses in her stride, a concerned expression finding its way across her face.
"We should go find her… something doesn't feel right." She explains, her voice incredibly serious. If there was one thing you knew about your sister, it was that she had an incredible sense of intuition, she just had a way of knowing when you or one of your siblings was in distress. The two of you hurried through the halls, eventually spotting her kneeling in the garden. You both rushed down the garden, freezing as she held up her shaking hand, stained with blood.

✨ Articles of Phantom Theives : The mermaid and the ship of fakes! ✨
Tumblr media
NOTE : watching the actual episode of the anime is highly recommended Hello everyone! Huhu here! It's been a while huh? Well as I promised I have finished the chapter for this story! You are in a treat this time my friend, I have decided to write an actually full fledged story this time instead of writing bullet points. I’m going to be honest..this wasn’t easy. I had to constantly keep motivating myself and the amount of times I have went back and forth to looking at the episode is insane 💀 That being said, THIS IS A WARNING‼️ the end of this story might be lacking and I apologize for that. I’ll try to be better in the future! Hm..what else? Oh yes, Emily's outfit! Yes yes she is dressed up in knight armor (will be explained in the story) here I even drew it!!
Tumblr media
Now without further adieu.. Let the story begin! Thank you for reading!!
———————————————————
Don’t get me wrong, Emily Oak loves parties. She enjoys socializing with different people and most importantly the food.
So why is she wearing a fully covered knight costume in the middle of a party?
Well dear reader, let me explain. So it started when Emily and DJ peacock were discussing their latest report on Kaitou Joker when a little birdie told them that Joker has sent an advance notice to steal Mr Kaneri’s Mermaid Crystal during his luxury liner party! Obviously both of them were stoked about this news but before things can get even more better it was also hinted that the mysterious phantom thief Spade (who has yet to reveal his identity) was also going to be appearing!
DJ peacock was too busy jumping around in excitement already having ideas on covering the underground news and to notice Emily's shoulder’s slow slump when she realized who Joker and this spade is stealing from.
“Hm? Emily what’s wrong?” “Oh um.. well good news! I can go to the party without being accompanied by inspector oniyama and the others!” “That's wonderful! How did you manage to do that at a short notice?” “Ok so here's the surprising news..”
Emily had to shut her friend’s gaping mouth before any flies would fly into it when she revealed that Mr Kaneri is her uncle. In her defense, the rich man is her FAR FAR FARR UNCLE. She hardly sees him that much anyway but she has a great opportunity in her hands and she could get a peek of what kaitou spade looks like as well! All it took was one greeting (and a bit of persuasion) and Emily had the invitation in her hands, ready to go!
And that's how she got into this situation, a fully covered knight armor costume in her uncle’s cruise attending his costume party. It's not like she doesn’t want her uncle to find her (ok she does) but she only really came here to see what Joker has up his sleeve this time and see kaitou spade, not be forced to write an article about how wealthy her uncle is.
‘Now that I think about it..this armor is making me sweat..’ the brown hair girl thought to herself while looking at the multiple paintings of her uncle on the wall. It was amazing how Emily managed to get such armor like this on rent, truly it was a snatch ... .except it was hot and heavy to move in!
‘Maybe I need water..yeah water might do the trick!’ She made her way to the buffet table that had the most drool worthy food on it. It looked so good she almost bumped into a waiter that suspiciously looked familiar to her. Is it just her or has she seen those blue eyes and strange hairstyles before? Eh it's hard to see through the helmet anyway.
A few minutes pass, and the mermaid crystal is now revealed to the guests by Mr Kaneri’s assistant, kaneko. The beauty of the treasure shown on television could not compete with the real deal! It looks stunning and amazing, and- is that Joker?! Emily paused in the middle of feasting on the delicious custards to see LITERALLY KAITOU JOKER OUT IN THE OPEN COMING DOWN FROM THE CEILING?! She couldn’t believe it! Has Joker already planned to take the mermaid crystal this early? Or has he already done it? How?!
As if she heaviness of the armor Emily is wearing didn’t bother her anymore, she instantly brought out her pen and notepad (guests who were beside her was looking at her weirdly like ‘did this knight just pull out a pen and paper out of thin air?’) preparing to make a beeline towards the fight breaking out in stage between iInspector Oniyama and “Joker”. Until that beeline was cut short, now Emily stood a good feet away from the mess of her uncle who was actually wearing a joker costume, shouting at Inspector Oniyama and her crew of attacking him. To the Oniyama’s defense, the costume looked TOO much like Joker.
Emily sighed at this and turned around to go back to her previous spot at the food buffet. She could hear bits of conversation of Mr Kaneri and oniyama’s conversation but she isn’t one to eavesdrop so-
“By the way, have you seen my lovely niece Emily? She said that she’ll be here at my party tonight!” Mr Kaneri boasted about making Oniyama tilt his head. “Your niece? Emily?” “Yes! Emily Oak! The famous journalist that wrote articles about the rotten Joker! You see I’m planning on convincing her to write articles about ME instead, because I’m so rich and famous it would definitely indeed turn heads!”.
‘You know what I think it's a great idea to hide in the kitchen for a while’ her legs guided her quickly into the kitchen. Big mistake, she was faced with four heads turned towards her. Emily blinked at two out of the four familiar heads, grinning behind her helmet at the sight of them. She pointed at them.
“Hachi! Joker!”
….
“WHO ARE YOU?!”
///
“I didn’t realize it was you, Miss Emily!” Hachi exclaimed as Emily took off her helmet and smiled at the ninja boy “Sorry for making you panic back there in the kitchen, it's nice to see you again!”. She didn’t get to spend that much time with hachi the last time they met (that being he was literally helping Joker steal something) but she can just tell from his adorable face he is just sweet. Hachi looked at Joker who was staring at the other two with bis hands on his hips
“Hey so what's up with Joker-“
“I’ev heard lots of rumors..so you’re the big up and comer, Spade”
Emily’s eyes instantly darted to the two, the time has finally come! She is now in the presence of the one and only phantom thief Spade!
“King, you must be this Spade’s apprentice”
Wait what?
Emily slowly puts down the pen she didn’t even realize she was holding (must be muscle memory) confused. Joker just continued to talk, “Unlike you, I’m already on my own. And I have my own apprentice! This is Hachi, my number #1 apprentice”. “A pleasure to meet you!” said the apprentice.
The journalist couldn’t help but smile softly at the way Joker is proudly introducing Hachi. To think this was the same Joker she met in the past when he was still new to being a phantom thief is astonishing! Oh how the times have changed. He was even defending Hachi when this apparent “King'' made a remark of how small the ninja is. Oh how it warms her heart to see this.
“By the way, this is Emily Oak! My journalist friend”
Aw he’s introducing Emily as well?
“She writes articles about ME, very good ones in fact. That just adds weight to how much I have grown” Joker smirks as he crosses his arms together looking like an athlete showing off his medals.
‘I should have expected that..’ Emily waves her hands in front of her when King and his friend turned to look at her as she tries to explain more about herself “I don’t only write about Joker of course”The brown hair female failed to notice Joker’s side eye beside her “I am also interested in writing about other phantom thieves. That's actually one of the main reasons why I’m here, to interview phantom thief spade”
King and partner glanced at each other for a moment before looking back at the journalist. “That’s very nice of you, emily. We would love to be in your articles, it might even be more popular than Joker over here” King said with the last few words a bit louder , irking the tophat phantom thief. “Hey!” “J-just who are you to Mr Joker anyway?”
The next sentence that came out of the king's mouth was like a golden buzzer for our girl. It's not everyday she gets information about Joker’s childhood heck even his life when he’s not doing his phantom thief stuff even! She has always wondered what Joker’s childhood was like. To grow up, training to become a phantom thief must be tough right? Who was his mentor? Did he live in a secret isolated place like in those spy movies? Or a hideaway buried deep in nature where the only access to get food was hunting?
Well at least now she knows that he and King were training partners under the same master. Just wait till her article fans hear about this!
Emily was too busy thinking about what she’ll write in the upcoming article, she didn’t mind the current argument happening with king and joker. Er..something about ‘that summer’? Eh, the girl was too far in her thoughts to even listen unlike hachi who was dying of curiosity.
“Hey, what happened that summer?’ Please tell me!”
“Shut up! I’m not like I was back then! No matter what you people do, that crystal will be mine!”
In response to Joker’s claim, King just confidently crossed his arms ``We'll see about that, you don’t want to underestimate the skill of phantom thief spade. Let’s compete to see who can recover the Mermaid’s crystal first!”. The monologue was accompanied with his partner’s chuckle in the background (very nice add on might I say).
Emily’s brain was busy functioning this situation at the moment. ‘Two phantom thieves’ + ‘compete’ = SCORE STORY!!! For a moment she squealed, making everyone look at her for a second. Joker smiled to himself when he noticed Emily’s expression, it's one that he has seen many times before and assumed she was already loving the idea of this.
Not wanting to let her upcoming article be a disaster (and his pride won’t allow it), Joker returns King’s confidence with a smirk “I have no intention of losing to you two”. Hachi shared the same confidence, ready to be alongside Joker to win this challenge.
“Wah, I’m so full..”
!
The five of them looked to see inspector oniyama nearby with his partners. ‘Oh crap!’ Emily thought to herself, quickly putting on her armor helmet. She didn’t want to be caught by none other than the police with phantom thieves, especially inspector oniyama! He doesn’t even know she’s here to begin with! Besides if he does then Mr Kaneri will know..and then- She shivers at the thought of being in an endless bound conversation with her distant uncle where most of the time it's just him talking about himself.
“You’re so under arrest, Joker!!” Inspector Oniyama yelled out, dashing towards the phantom thief. Joker and Hachi both stand in their place, barely having any time to make a run for it until the king's partner swiftly moves in front of them facing the police. ‘Eh?’ Emily thinks, now that she is thinking about it she has never been introduced to King’s partner yet..
Luckily inspector oniyama also wanted to know who was the person standing in between him and Joker as well, “W-who are you?!”. King wasted no time in introducing that, his partner is Phantom thief spade. Emily gasped at the introduction, ‘This is perfect!’ She thought, ‘I can’t believe I’m going to see the phantom thief spade in action right in front of me!’
“Evil glance!” A bright light shines from Spade’s single eye (the one thing that stood out from his bandaged head (weird choice design but…still cool)) blinding inspector oniyama, momo and ginko. Just like that, three officers were down on the floor asleep once the light faded away. Emily looked at the three unconscious figures in wonder at what just happened beside Joker “Woah..” “T-that was so cool!”. Spade looked back at Joker, “Now you owe me one”. The spiky haired phantom thief gritted his teeth “I didn’t ask for you to do that!”.
The journalist on the other hand, hummed behind her helmet, “Thank you for that, Spade and King!”. Joker whipped his head to look at her “Don’t compliment the competition!!”. Spade smirked and winked, “No problem, Emily. Well, we’ll be taking that treasure. See you then”. He and spade ran off ignoring Joker’s constant yells of not letting his childhood friend steal the treasure he’s targeting. Hachi looks on in determination and notices emily walking away to where the part was. “Hm? Emily, you’re going too?” Asked the phantom thief apprentice. The girl smiled sheepishly, admitting that she’ll be heading inside to where king and spade are “I don’t want to miss spade and king steal the mermaid crystal..” “How do you know they’ll steal the mermaid, we’ll do it first!” Joker huffed as he crossed his arms, hachi mirrored his movements. Emily chuckled, “You better do it fast then, goodluck you too!” She gave a thumbs up which was returned with smirks and smiles before running to the party leaving the other two behind.
//
Once Emily entered the party room, she tried her best to find Spade and King. No really, she did! Like literally looking up and down, the kitchen, the toilet, everywhere! Seriously what kind of training did he and joker do in the past that involved both of them being able to hide so perfectly well?!
She sighed to herself, the journalist was hoping to meet them for a quick second along for a little mini interview but it seemed like that wasn't going to happen. She glances at the bag behind her, there was another reason why she wanted to see them again..
She found a tranquilizer gun.
In fact she found it on her way to the party on the floor. ‘Is it theirs?’ She wonders, ‘or is it..someone else's?!’ The thought of someone in the party with a tranquilizer gone got her sweating…it even makes her sweat bullets because now she has the gun in her bag.
‘If anyone were to see me with this..’ Emily internally panicked at the thought of someone catching her with the tranquilizer gun. She didn’t want to go to jail yet!!
Fortunately the thoughts slowly go away as Kaneko and Mr Kaneri go up on stage to announce the winners of the- eh? There was a costume contest? Emily surely didn’t know that, but the prize must be amazing then if it came from a rich man like Mr Kaneri!
“The winner indeed will receive a year’s supply of Mr. Cookie!” Mr Kaneri announces as the projector behind him projects an image of his cookie brand. Emily sweatdropped ‘why did I even bother..?’, for once she assumed her distant uncle would give out an expensive prize, she wonders who the winner of the competition is.
Before the winner is revealed though, the doors to the entrance of the room opens and Spade stands there chuckling “kukukuku”.
Emily gasps, holding her hands in front of her helmet at the sight (the guests who beside her looked at her weirdly yet again). It's the big moment of the show! Spade is now going to steal the mermaid treasure. ‘But wait..where’s King?’
“Evil glance!” Light yet again appears from Spade’s glowing eye blinding everyone, including Emily this time. However instead of sleeping like what happened with inspector Oniyama and his partners, the girl didn’t feel herself growing unconscious. Once the light faded, Emily along with multiple other guests blinked in confusion. Obviously the guests are wondering what just happened but Emily was the most confused out of them. ‘Huh?? Why aren't I unconcious? Isn’t that supposed to happen?’ Emily thought to herself, as she takes a look at Spade who is unmoving from his spot. Looking more closely, Spade was indeed not looking too good. In fact he seemed like he was panicking.
‘WHAT IS HE DOING?! IS THIS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN???’ She looked in worry feeling bad for the phantom thief. This was supposed to be the moment where he and King (again where is he) steal the mermaid crystal..and it went totally wrong! How is she supposed to make this sound amazing but also truthful in her article? ‘Phantom thief Spade fails to steal the Mermaid Crystal’? Oh dear..
As if anything else could get worse, Inspector Oniyama along with Ginko and Momo bursted in immediately capturing Spade by dog piling! Great now Emily might as well write ‘Phantom thief Spade fails to steal the Mermaid Crystal AND gets dog piled by police’ as the title of her article!
There could only be one thing to do now.
That's right.
Visit the caged Spade alone.
You would think security would be tight but for some reason, Emily has no problems sneaking in to check up on the caged phantom thief behind bars. She still had to take precautions though so she kept her helmet on. There wasn’t even anybody else in the room, just her and Spade. The journalist made her way in front of Spade with the only thing separating the two was the bars holding the phantom thief in. “Spade,” Spade looked up to see a knight in front of him. For a second he thought it was just some random party guest that wandered into the room but soon realized it was the girl he met on the ship’s dock once Emily lifted up her helmet to reveal her face
“M-miss Emily? What are you doing here?” Spade said out loud, curious on why she decided to come visit a literal criminal. The girl replied with a hum “Since you’re basically arrested now and most likely to be going to jail as soon as this ship gets onto land, I want to spend these last moments of interviewing” she frowned at the last words. Emily felt disappointed a bit to see such a phantom thief like spade get caught like this but..it's not she could do anything about that. Spade’s body paused at the brown haired girl’s words, ‘This girl..wants to interview me? Even though I’m-‘
“Ok first things first I need to ask you about something” Emily reached to take something out of her bag. Spade titled his head wondering what it might be.
He expected many things but no once did the thought of a tranquilizer gun being an option.
Emily may not see it, but Spade was shocked to see the gun in her hands. I mean how did the journalist get her hands on it?! Did it fell off when-
“I just want to make sure this is yours and King’s…because I really hope it is since the idea of someone else on the ship with a gun like this wouldn’t ease my worries” Emily nervously chuckled and turned the tranquilizer gun to fidget with it. “Actually now that I think about it, this is my first time holding a gun” “Miss Emily please be careful on holding that” Spade warned the person on the other side of the bars, the last thing he wants at the moment is something to go wrong. She assures the phantom thief, while holding on to the gun loosely “Its fine I got this-“
“So this is the so-called phantom thief Spade!” A third familiar voice in the room called out behind her.
“AAAH!!”
Bam! Out of panic, Emily accidently shot a nearby crate with the tranquilizer gun and quickly put the knight helmet on her head. ‘Oh shoot! It's..’, she turned around to see a shocked Mr Kaneri clutching his Mr Teddy in his hands as if his life depended on it. ‘Oh no!!’ the journalist mentally cried out, quickly putting the tranquilizer gun in her backpack. She didn’t mean too, really! You all saw that! She doesn’t quite like her distant uncle but not so much to shoot him! Her eyes shifted towards the guard behind Mr Kaneri staring at her through his glasses.
‘Its over.’ Emily has accepted her fate, freezing on her spot. This is the end. She was caught talking to a literal criminal, almost shot someone and a guard was there to witness all of it. “Y-you-! You tried to shoot me! Guard! Arrest him! He indeed needs to be locked up with that thief as well!” Mr Kaneri pointed straight at Emily, who was only accepting her fate more when she realized her uncle doesn’t even recognize her. Great so she’ll be going to jail by her own distant uncle.
This is the end of Emily Oak’s life..

The guard made no move to arrest Emily however instead he knocked Mr Kaneri out. No seriously, the journalist was now looking down at her unconscious uncle as the guard was tying him up. “What..” Emily gaped, not understanding what is happening right now. What was she feeling? Shocked? Confused? The poor girl could feel herself shaking a bit. After successfully tying up the rich man, the guard stood up to face Emily with a smile. She gasped when she recognized who the guard was.
“You're an interesting one, Emily. I didn’t even realize my tranquilizer gun was missing until the last minute” King let out a chuckle while making his way to let Spade out of the cage. He patted his partner’s arm as an act of comfort before looking back at her with a curious look, “Are you sure you’re not secretly a phantom thief?” Emily quickly shook her head at the question, “Me? No way, I just happened to find the gun on the floor as I was walking to the party. You guys must have dropped it” Besides, I don't think I can handle the intense life of being a phantom thief again, she mentally added. .
“So what are you going to do now?” “Continue our mission to steal the mermaid crystal of course! Don’t tell me you thought we’ll just let Joker and his apprentice take it from us.” “Ahaha of course not, I wish you luck for you two!”
King and Spade leave the room after bidding their goodbyes to Emily. Now it was just her and Mr Kaneri’s slumped, tied up unconscious body on the floor. He was even snoring- is he dreaming of something?! Emily shakes her head and smiles, ‘I've seen what Spade and King had done..perhaps it's now Joker and Hachi’s turn!’ She grins and makes her way to the party room.
The phrase ‘The show must go on’ fitted perfectly for what was going to happen next in my opinion. Despite just capturing a phantom thief, someone must have thought it was a good idea for the party to still continue, not that Emily minded she was interested in how things will turn out. Especially since she hasn't seen Joker make any moves to get the treasure yet. Speaking of the devil, as soon as the girl was wondering where her friend was, the lights turned off and there Joker was, standing on the stage with a confident stance.
‘There he is! Oh and since everyone knows that Mr Kaneri is dressing up as Joker no one is batting an eye’ Emily mentally noted how smart this trick was, it was just as easy as taking a candy from a baby. Joker seemed to not even hide his victory smirk as he approached where Kaneko and the mermaid crystal is. However he didn’t get to even touch the treasure. Somebody stopped him and that someone is none other then..Inspector Oniyama.
“So under arrest!”, he and a few other officers cornered Joker on the stage. The phantom thief was surrounded the only thing left to do was the inspector making sure this was the real deal or just Mr Kaneri (He secretly hoped it was the later).
“You’re a fool, indeed!”
It was the latter.
Emily was starting to get a headache, so that wasn’t Joker but her distant uncle? Wait but that doesn’t make any sense, she saw the old rich man asleep a few minutes ago… and what do you mean he won the costume contest?! She stared in confusion as Mr Kaneri cackled on stage, embracing the fact that he became the winner of his OWN contest.
But what’s that..?
Another Mr Kaneri appears on stage?! Commotion arrupts from everyone, this has turned into a mess!. ‘What..is happening??!!’ Emily looks back and forth at the two Mr Kaneris from her position in the crowd. Instantly, being the one and only japanese police inspector that is determined to catch his target criminal, inspector oniyama and his subordinates jump on stage to set the record straight on who is who.
In the end though, the mystery was solved when one Mr Kaneri realized the other Mr Kaneri was King. This caused both of them to take off their disguise and can you guess what happened next? Yeah, you’re right, they both got captured and taken to the cage Spade once was.
Ok let's be honest here, this whole story Emily Oak has witnessed so many twists and turns. She wasn’t even surprised to be asked to help distribute curry laced with whatever was in the tranquilizer by Hachi and Spade. You can say she was already tired and wanted to get over this. The journalist began pushing the trolley from the kitchen to the party room when she heard the little ninja beside her sigh.
“What’s wrong Hachi?” She asks wondering why Hachi was sighing. “Its just..I really want to know why Mr Joker seems to have a bad history with dipping sauce! But he won’t tell me one bit of it.” he crossed his arms, seemingly annoyed he can’t know. Emily chuckles and assures him, “Its ok, Hachi. It must be an embarressing past if he doesn’t want to tell you what it is. Everyone has their secrets after all.” The asisstant hummed, taking her words before realizing something, “Hey Miss Emily, why aren’t you with them?” “Them?” “Yeah Inspector Oniyama and the others, normally when there is a event where me and Mister Joker attend you always stick with the police force.” The brown hair girl titled her head as she continued to push the trolley with the curry pot at his question. Emily was considering on telling him the reason why she got invited to the party…but then the thought of the ninja telling his master that Mr Kaneri is her distant unlce. It would open so much opperunities, oppertunites that will lead to trouble.
“Everyone has their secrets, Hachi”
“What?”
Emily continued to push forwards, quickening her pace.
“MISS EMILY??”
//
“I am the true phantom thief spade!”
“What?!”
After putting everyone to sleep with the curry, the trio managed to save the two phantom thieves and are now standing at the dock of the ship just like what happened last time. For some explanation, Joker managed to snag the mermaid cyrstal before Spade and King could. Now this is the part where emily would write down what happened, and smile with a “I guess joker won again, I can’t wait to tell my readers!” UNTIL..
It was revealed that King was actually Spade the entire time?! And the “spade” was actually King’s assistant, Dark Eye?! This is the last plot twist the journalist could handle, she is going to lose it if it weren't for Spade giving a dramatic departure as he steals the treasure away from Joker in his airship….do all phantom thieves have airships?
The journalist continued to look at the distant blip flying away. So she has a story, she just expected it to go like this. Emily chuckles as she thinks to herself ‘This was a fun night..’
Joker and Hachi stop their current bickering (yet again it was Hachi asking about the summer dipping sauce and Joker refusing to tell anything about it) to stare at the girl. The spiky hair thief decided to speak first, “What are you laughing about?” “I was just thinking how fun this whole night was..I can’t believe I got to meet Phantom thief Spade. He sure is an interesting fellow”.
Joker huffed and crossed his arms “Don’t compliment the competition!”. “Yeah! And don’t worry we’ll win next time!” Hachi added with a determined smile shared with his master.
“I can’t wait-“
“JOKER!!!” “Give me back my treasure, indeed!!”
Uh oh
The three of them turn to see a very awake Mr Kaneri and Inspector Oniyama running towards them at full speed. Emily quickly puts on her knight helmet to shield her identity as Joker and Hachi…jump off the ship into the ocean?! She quickly looks down by the railing as she sees the two of them in the ocean. ‘What an exit..’
“Ah! Inspector! That was the knight that almost shot me earlier, indeed!”
Emily did a sharp turn to face her distant uncle, “WHAT?!” No way..is her uncle really going to make the police arrest her?!
.
.
.
.
Well I guess she has to exit as well
SPLASH!
[The end]
————————————————————
WOWEEE so there we have it folks! You have reached the end of the story! Damm that took long! So this is the chapter where Emily meets Spade for the first time, I quite think they will have a nice friendship with one another. Maybe he’ll spill embaressing secrets about Joker to her a bit and Joker will be like “I DID NOT DO THAT” but like yk he did. What’s that? The ending seems to be lacking? Well I warned you! I’m like running a race, I start strong, end tired and begging my friend to give me my water bottle. I tried my best either way though, I guess this is about 4000 words? This will be a rare case..I don’t think I’ll ever be doing something like this again..
Thank you for reading! I hope you liked it and have a nice day or night‼️ ✨
