Imagine the princesses meme from "Ralph breaks the internet" but with princes.
(I'm including Star/Aster because i can).
Aster: Whoa, whoa. Gentlemens, I can explain. See, I'm a prince, too!
Kristoff: Wait, what?
Aster: Yeah. Prince Aster, the wishing star. You know *THE* wishing star? The one in the sky? You probably saw me.
Henry/Charming: Huh. What kind of prince are you?
Aster: What kind?
Florian: Do you have no personality?
Aster: No.
Aladdin and Eugene: You were a thief?
Aster: No.
Kristof: Your best friend is an animal?
Aster: No. Thought my friend's has a goat as her best friend.
John: You got shot?
Aster: No!
Adam and Naveen: Cursed?
Aster: No!
Li Shang: Lead an army to death?
Aster: No! Are you guys okay? Should I get help?
Eric: Then I have to assume that you killed a giant octopus to save the love of your life?
Aster: No???
Florian: Have you ever had True Love's Kiss?
Aster: I wish...
Philip: Did you rebelled against your father?
Aster: I don't even have a mom.
All except Naveen: Nethier, do we! As far as some of us know...
Kristoff: And now, for the million-dollar question. Do people assume that when a pretty girl shows up, you'll fall in love with her immediately?
Aster: Yes! What is up with that? Also what is a dollar?
All: They are a prince!
Florian: *sings*

Swifties are PAINFULLY fucking stupid.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I shouldn’t be getting THIS heated over a Disney comparison but the Kristoff slander is absolutely fucking wild. Kristoff (at least in the first movie) is both poor and an introvert. Those are two things that swifties HATE Joe for. He also had to work since he was a child, which is something swifties make fun of Joe for- calling him yogurt boy. And he DEFINITELY would think that award shows are stupid.
Hans is much more like Travis in the fact that he pursued a woman for his own gain. Whereas Kristoff was just trying to live his life and didn’t even WANT to get involved in Anna’s shit, Hans wanted to become king, so he pursued Anna (a naive and desperate young woman- which is what swifties are trying to paint Taylor as) and made himself look like her dream guy- “true love.”
Last summer, Travis publicly and relentlessly pursued Taylor with his story about how he tried to give her a friendship bracelet with his number. And he’s been reaping the benefits of dating Taylor Swift, he’s got new TV gigs, his podcast shot up on the charts, and he might even be getting his own reality show.
He tried to pass himself off as a fan, Even though he’s blatantly obvious that he DOESN’T listen to her music. But his little pretend act of being a fan charmed the shit out of swifties and made them believe he was her Prince Charming. All he has to do is that stupid 🫶 thing and he’s got the swifties swooned, much like Hans had Anna swooned from the minute he met her. But his intentions were completely self-serving.
And another thing I find interesting is the fact that Hans proposed to Anna a few hours after meeting her. IF ANYTHING, that couple is literally a lesson on NOT marrying a guy you just met. And yet, Swifties have been talking about Taylor marrying Travis since that first football game-even BEFORE then.
But Joe, the guy who didn’t want to marry taylor, is just like Hans? The one who was in a long term relationship that ultimately didn’t work out is JUST LIKE HANS??
It beggars belief how swifties could be so stupid, because they either didn’t watch the movie, didn’t fully understand it (because they are less cognitively capable than 5 year olds), or they’re so addicted to painting Joe as this cartoonist Disney villain in their heads that they think it’s perfectly reasonable to compare Joe to a character that was trying to KILL his fiancée and her sister.
I the stupidity of comparing Taylor Swift to Anna- a girl who’s been isolated in a castle for most of her life and has ZERO relationship experience - I think she’s supposed to be like 18 or something? Very young and inexperienced and naive. Taylor was 26 years old when she started dating Joe and she had plenty of relationship experience before then.
Taylor literally wrote MASTERMIND, but swifties still see her as this naive and innocent disney princess who is easily manipulated and taken advantage of by men. So I guess they think it’s a reasonable comparison because they understand disney movies as well as they understand Taylor’s lyrics- which is NOT AT ALL.

New Fic "If The Cabin Walls Could Talk"
heyyy guys!!
my new fic "If The Cabin Walls Could Talk" is now posted on my Ao3 account!! I actually started writing this a while ago but never finished until now. It was supposed to be a cute one shot and it turned into 12k words and a two shot. Oh well. Hope you enjoy!
pairings: Kristoff Bjorgman x Princess Anna (from Frozen)
tags: fluff, smut, a littleee angst, hurt/comfort, first time, loss of virginity, ao3
summary: Kristoff and Anna take a trip up to Kristoff's long forgotten cabin as a little romantic getaway, trying to reawaken the spark Anna feels that they've lost. Kristoff, caught up in his own worries for the future, is uncomfortable with the amount of privacy they have, afraid they will do something stupid and ruin Anna's reputation. However, the young couple is far too attracted to each other to resist... Besides, what happens in the cabin stays in the cabin, right?

“Do you not want me?” She asked, her voice full of confusion and sadness. She knew she wasn’t anything too special, but was she really so repulsive to him…?
“Anna…” How could he tell her that he wanted her more than anything else? That there wasn’t one ice-harvesting trip where he didn’t think of having her all for himself? That his greatest dream was getting married and the blissful wedding night that would come after?
He reached for the door.
“No, Kristoff, you don’t get to hide in the stable with Sven! Answer me! Do you not want me?”
“It’s not that, Anna…” He slightly opened the door.
“Then what is it?! What’s wrong, then?! What are you so afraid of?!”
His restraints, like a rope that’s been stretched too far, burst.
“I’m afraid that, by being with me, you’re going to ruin your future chances, Anna!” He yelled, finally turning to her.

i read a lot of books in january so i figure that i'd give y'all a quick rundown on what i loved, what was terrible (affectionate), and what was also terrible (derogatory).
top reads:
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid okay, why did no one tell me how good this book was? i knew the show was about music but wasn't super into giving it a watch. i was not expecting the format at all but boy did it set up a compelling story. billy and daisy truly were the bitch4bitch relationship everyone needs. 5 stars
Locklands by Robert Jackson Bennet this is the final installment in the founder trilogy and what. an. ending. the first, Foundryside, was a solid start with a weird plot point at the end but and it picked up in Shorefall with more lore (that i loved) but really blossomed into something amazing in Locklands. the POV changed, the villain evolved, the lore - i love a good magic system, truly i do, and it just came together for me. came for the sapphic romance (of which there is not much in Foundryside) and stayed for the story. would recommend to my cousin. 5 stars
terrible (affectionate):
Yearning by Gun Brooke this was just... okay, so. aliens. aliens and a femme-butch cop (you know the type) and a high-femme librarian (you also know this kind) whose clinical exterior is broken down by the sudden realization that she can be queer because she's actually living in a town filled with descendants of aliens. it was quick and easy and i just kept going, "aliens. fucking aliens." 3 stars (no alien-makeout scene)
terrible (derogatory):
Wild and Wicked Things by Francesca May i tried to like this one. i really did. Great Gatsby meets Practical Magic isn't my cup of tea but my cousin recommended it and she reads for a living so i said sure. that cousin is uninvited from christmas next year. the pacing was so off and the two main characters were either "edgy" or a wet mop. their romance was terrible (edgy-witch too edgy to be in love) and felt forced. the story either zipped through major plot points that needed work or just. dragged. on. almost did not finish but it would have haunted me not to 1.5 stars
honorable mention:
i read Nevernight by Jay Kristoff again. it's a classic. mia and ash, my favorite murder children. i will read godsgrave posthaste 10 stars
plans for february:
Faebound by Saara El-Arifi i'm reading this one now and i like the premise so far. Samantha Shannon gave it a stamp of approval, hence my willingness to give it a shot. guess we'll see!
Roots of Chaos series by Samantha Shannon a friend just reread A Day of Fallen Night and it's got me longing for 800 page books all over again. might have to just give in
queer fantasies really anything that's queer fantasy. if y'all have recommendations, throw them my way!
okay so that's that, see you again next month!

Previous Chapter
“I forgot to mention,” Cliff said as he jotted down a measurement.  “I stopped by Uncle Craig’s the other day.”
Kristoff looked up at his dad.  “How’s he doing?”
“Good.  The business is doing well. Your cousin coming on board has re-energized him and the business.”
“That’s good to hear.”
“Yeah.  He was asking me if you were still seeing the girl you were with last time you were at the bar.”
Kristoff froze.  He had done everything he could to block out the memory of that night a few months ago.
“Last time I was at the bar I was with Sven,” Kristoff said as uninterested as he could sound.  He kept his head down, focusing on the piece of tile he was laying.
“Craig said you were with someone after Sven left.  Something you want to tell me?”
“Nothing to tell.”  Kristoff chanced a glance at his dad and knew he wouldn’t get off that easy.  Reluctantly, he answered. “The bar was short staffed, so I leant a hand after Sven left.  There was a girl that spilt all her drinks.  I helped her with it and talked with her for a while after.  That’s it.”
Cliff went back to writing in his notebook.  “Funny.  Uncle Craig described it differently.”
“Yeah?  Tell Uncle Craig he has a bad memory.”
Cliff held up his hands when Kristoff shot him a look.  “Whoa, did I strike a nerve? I was just curious.”
“Dad, I left for El Centro right after Sven went home.  I’ve been gone for over two months.  When do you think I’d have the time to see anyone?  Assuming I’d even want to.”
“You’ve been back for two weeks.  Plenty of time.”
“Dad.  There isn’t anyone.  The end.”
“Got it.  No one.”  Cliff went to step out of the bathroom.  “I’m going to cut the rest of the tiles.  Try to get this group laid before I’m back.”
They made quick work of the rest of the bathroom floor.  Thankfully, Cliff didn’t press for more information and Kristoff pushed the memory of that night back out of his head.  Instead, he focused on being with his dad.  They hadn’t had this much time together since before Kristoff graduated from the Naval Academy and he was enjoying this.  He still wasn’t used to his parents being a ten-minute drive away.  The idea of being able to see them whenever he wanted felt strangely foreign to him.
“I’ll do the grout when you’re away this weekend,” Cliff said as they put away the last of the supplies.   “It’s a good house.  Starting to shape up nicely.  It will be great for a family once you get all the work done.”
“Good time to sell it then.”
“You sure about that?”
“It’s just a house.  I’ll find somewhere else to live.”
“Well, hopefully you can enjoy it for a little bit before you do anything.”
“I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.  It still needs a lot of work, and my schedule is busy, so it’s going to take a while.”
“Promise me you’ll at least take some things out of boxes.  It will be good for you to make this place feel more permanent.  Plus, its driving your mother crazy.  If you aren’t careful, one day you’re going to come home from a show and everything will be out.”
“She wouldn’t do that?”  Kristoff looked at his dad. “Oh… yes, she really would.  Fine.  I promise.  One picture.”
Cliff patted Kristoff on the back.  “That’s the spirit.”
**********
“Lt. Cmdr. Bjorgman?”
Kristoff looked over to the entryway to his office and motioned for the volunteer coordinator for the Blue Angels to come in.
“What can I do for you today, Martinez?”
The petty officer stepped inside.  “I’ll only be a minute.  Just looking to fill in some information.  You’re from the area, right?”
“Yes.”  Kristoff drew out his answer, wondering where this was leading.
The petty officer checked his notes.  “And your father, small business owner.  Mother a teacher?”
Kristoff nodded.
“And you attended Gulf Breeze High School, correct?”
“Please don’t tell me you’re going to have me speak there.”
There was a small uptick to the corner of Martinez’s mouth.  “No promises.”
The petty officer went through a few more questions, then thanked Kristoff, got up and saluted him.  Right before walking out of the office, he mentioned he’d see Kristoff at the team brief.  The hint of a smile was back, and it was all it took.  Kristoff knew his fate was sealed.
**********
“Bjorgman,” Boss Kesselring called out.  “I thought I told you to get a haircut.”
Kristoff bit back a groan.  He thought he a skirted by Kesselring noticing during the meeting.  “It’s regulation length, sir!”
Kesselring failed to hold back a small laugh as he shook his head.  “Humor me and go get it trimmed.”
“Right on it,” Kristoff smirked.
Kesselring tilted his head down and looked directly at Kristoff with a sternness that had earned him his captain rank.  “Today.  That’s an order.”
“Yes, sir,” Kristoff responded, setting his face to a neutral expression and sitting up as straight as he could.
“Ok, one last topic and we’ll be done for the day,” Boss Kesselring said as he picked up a stack of envelopes from the desk and held them up for the team to see.  “Your season’s outreach assignments.  It should be straight forward, but I’ll let Petty Officer Martinez discuss in more detail.”
Martinez entered the brief room as Boss Kesselring handed out the envelopes.  Kristoff opened his and sure enough, the first assignment listed was for his old high school.  He wondered what menacing joy Martinez had sticking him with that.  Luckily, it was just for the ROTC and sports program this year, not the entire school.  He skipped past the details of that brief, ignoring Martinez droning on and started scanning his other assignments.
**********
“How long are you going to be gone?” Camilla asked.  She was leaning over the nurse’s station as Anna scanned the screens on the wall that monitored all the patients’ vitals on the floor.
“The meeting is scheduled for an hour.  It’s only supposed to be introducing everyone and going over the goals for the committee.”
“I still don’t know why you want to be part of this.  Seems like a lot of time.”
Anna shrugged.  She didn’t really want to get into how this just felt right.  She wanted to do more around the hospital and community.  It was something she enjoyed but didn’t have the time to get involved when she was a traveling nurse.
“It sounds like a smart idea,” Sue chimed in.
Anna looked over at Sue.  “You really think so?”
“Of course.  The committee reports to the CEO.  There’s good visibility being on the committee when you’re looking to move up.”
“Me?”
“Yes you.  And don’t give me that face.  You’re a natural leader.”
Anna scoffed, making a note on the chart of one of the patients.  “I think you have me confused with my sister.”
“No, I’m talking about you.  I can see it.  You’re already a shift supervisor.  Head of the department makes sense for you at some point.  You’d be great in management someday too.”
“I like being a nurse.”
“Sure.  But that doesn’t mean you wouldn’t like doing that either.  Plus, selfishly, you’d be a hundred times better than anyone we have in management now.”
Anna got up from her stool at the station.  “I have half a mind to check to see if you’re delirious with a fever but thank you.”  She grabbed her notepad and a pen.  “Well, wish me luck then.  I can’t be late to my apparent first step at a promotion.”
One of the lab specialists Anna knew from being on patient interdisciplinary teams together caught up with her on the way over to the meeting.  They were also on the committee and Anna was glad to have someone she was familiar with in the group.  It also helped take her mind off Sue’s ridiculous comments.  Never mind that Anna did have ideas on how the department could improve and maybe some more thoughts on the nursing program at the hospital. But that could wait for another time because she was focused on the outreach committee and that was it.
Anna followed the lab specialist into the conference room, scanning more for open chairs around the large rectangular table than faces.  It was the clothes that caught her attention first, standing out from the scrubs, white coats and business attire.  When she looked at the face, Anna locked eyes with him, stopping in her tracks as she gasped.
While only a split second, the shock was all over his face before he quickly set it back, looked down and pretended to write something on his notepad.  Luckily, no one else had noticed when Anna had froze.  She looked around and found a seat as far away from him as possible and scrambled over to it.
Anna tried to keep herself busy until the meeting started, pretending to check her emails on her phone and introducing herself to the person next to her.  She gave in after a couple minutes and snuck a peek across the table, hoping she didn’t look too flustered.  Anna tried her best to set her face with a mix of disapproval, disgust and anger in case he was looking at her.  He wasn’t.  In fact, he was doing an excellent job at looking occupied, purposely not looking Anna’s way.  But the flush in his cheeks was a dead giveaway that he remembered exactly who she was.
**********
“Which one are we talking about again?” Camilla asked.
“The cute one,” Sue answered.
“That doesn’t help.”
“The blond.”
“Ahh, ok.  I couldn’t remember which one it was.  He was cute!”
“I know!”
“Neither one of you are helping.”  Anna was a ball of nervous energy and Sue and Camilla were not making the situation any better.  She practically ran out of the conference room when the meeting was over, taking the first set of stairs she could find to avoid having to be anywhere near Kris.  Or Kristoff as his name apparently really was.  Sue and Camilla were supposed to help her get out of this situation, but they were having entirely too much fun with the information Anna gave them.
“Wait,” Sue said.  “I thought he told you he was local.”
“He did.”
Sue chuckled.  “I guess technically he wasn’t lying.”
Camilla joined in.  “She didn’t get that far in the discussion to find out what he did.  Too busy kissing him to ask!”
Both Camilla and Sue burst into a fit of giggles.  Anna’s head fell forward, stopping when her forehead met on the top of the station desk.  “Don’t remind me of that.  I’m glad this is amusing to you two.  Any other laughs you’d like at my expense?”
“Did he at least look good in the uniform?”
“Sue!”
“Ok, ok.  I’m sorry.  I wonder why the Navy would send a representative.  Did he say what he does?”
“No, but here.”  Anna lifted her head and found a set of papers.  “Everyone’s bios are there. “
Anna crossed her arms and chewed at her lower lip as Sue perused the paper.
“Oh wow,” Sue said after a minute.
“That doesn’t sound good. What does it say?”
Sue cleared her throat and started to read aloud.  “Ascension welcomes Naval representative Lieutenant Commander Kristoff Bjorgman from NAS Pensacola.”
“Oooh an officer!” Camilla noted.  “Impressive.”  She nodded her head along with Sue.
Sue started again.  “Lt. Cmdr. Bjorgman has over ten years with the Navy… blah, blah, blah…will fill the position for the duration of his assignment at NAS…. blah, blah, blah…. currently serving his first year as a pilot with the Blue Angels demonstration team…. that,” Sue pointed her finger to the paper. “Is impressive.  And it explains why he’s on the committee.”
“Explains what?”  Sue might as well have been speaking a foreign language.  Anna didn’t understand anything Sue had read.
“He’s a Blue Angel.”
“A what?”
Camilla smacked Anna’s shoulder.  “You remember.  The blue planes!”
“I remember how loud they were.”
Sue went on to explain.  “The Blue Angels used to do a lot of PR at the hospital.  They must be looking to start that up again.  That’s good.  They are a hit with the patients.”
“Great.  He’s a celebrity.”
Sue shook her head.  “Not him.  But the suit kind of is.”
“Oh, the suit!  I forgot about that!” Camilla exclaimed.  “Anna, was he wearing it?”
“He had on a normal plain tan uniform.  Why.”
Camilla had an evil grin on her face.  “Just wait.”
One of the monitors started beeping and all three women shot up to look at it. Anna was first to respond.  “I got this,” she said focusing on the job at hand and trying to remove any more thoughts of Kristoff Bjorgman out of her head.

“When will we get to Living Rock Township?” Kristoff’s passenger Anna was only talking to him because he was there and she was bored, which was almost worse than ignoring him.
He wasn’t in the habit of conversing with strangers, especially pretty, high-born women who were cheerful even when there wasn’t a reason to be. He didn’t see the point.
“When we get there.”
He wasn’t trying to be funny, but Anna laughed anyway. Rather than ignore the daggers he shot at her, she laughed even more.
“I’m sorry!” she said as she caught her breath. “It’s just that, well, are you always this talkative?”
He answered her with a smirk. This was why he bought a wagon and not a carriage: he’d have rather delivered parcels and mail than people any day.
But Mrs. Stone, the pastor’s daughter and one of the only nice people in Living Rock Township, had specifically requested he be nice when he collected Anna at the harbor, so he attempted conversation, though it didn’t help much.
“What are you even doing here?”
“I beg your pardon?” Her wrinkled forehead didn’t dampen her bright eyes. “That attitude is completely unnecessary.”
Kristoff whistled and his horse Sven stopped. Then he turned on the bench to face her. “You had to have a good reason to leave your family and probably very comfortable life in Arendelle to risk crossing the ocean. Especially alone-”
Then he remembered there was supposed to be a man with her.
Anna scooted away from him on the bench and folded her arms. “That’s none of your concern.”
Kristoff rolled his eyes when she lifted her nose in the air like she wanted an apology.
Instead, he said, “Fine,” and told Sven to walk on. So much for his attempt at friendship.
Then it crossed his mind that perhaps she had lost her companion on the voyage so he swallowed his pride. “It’s just unusual, that’s all.”
She let out a deep breath instead of crying and Kristoff relaxed. “My fiance was supposed to come with me.”
“I guess things didn’t work out with Prince Charming, there?”
Anna shook her head and added, “Well, see, I met him at a ball.”
Kristoff rolled his eyes. He already knew where this story was headed.
“It was amazing and magical. He was dreamy and divine. And he asked me to marry him that night! Of course, I thought it was true love so I-”
“You agreed to marry a man you just met? That day?”
Anna stopped talking and glared at him.
“I mean, sure. Yeah, that sort of thing happens all the time,” he said sarcastically.
“Anywho, my sister lives at North Mountain and I haven’t seen her in years—she got accused of witchcraft and had to leave in a hurry, long story-”
She said it so casually that it almost didn’t register. “Wait, what!?”
“How far is North Mountain from Living Rock? Do you know how to get there?”
“You might not want to talk about that kind of stuff too loudly here. Personally, I think it’s a bunch of hogwash, but other people seem to take it pretty seriously.”
It almost seemed like she was mocking him when she said, “Anyway, we were going to join her at North Mountain. My parents actually passed away a few years ago-"
"You lost your parents?"
Anna paused and smiled at him. "They were trying to find Elsa, but their ship never made it. That was about three years ago or so."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
She smiled again. "Well, obviously I wanted my sister's blessing since I couldn't get my parents. So I made all the arrangements and wrote to her. But I don’t know if she even got the letter-”
“So she doesn’t even know you’re coming?”
“Well, no…” Anna twisted her mittened hands in front of her and she looked off to the side. “Maybe. But I also wrote to Mrs. Stone gave. She gave me an open invitation when she and her husband left Arendelle. So I thought at least we’d be on the right continent.”
Then her voice dropped. “At least, I’m on the right continent.”
Kristoff pursed his lips. He hated to ask, but he was invested in the story. “So where’s your handsome prince now?”
She folded her arms again and spoke softly. “I guess he didn’t love me enough.”
Unfortunately, that tugged on Kristoff’s heartstrings and he couldn’t tell her what he really thought.
“I don’t believe it was love at first sight, in case that’s what you were thinking.”
Kristoff didn’t mean to snort.
She narrowed her eyes. “It was blind attraction, which can be even more problematic.”
“Not exactly the best way to start a life together.”
Not expecting silence, Kristoff turned his head. She was biting her lip, but he knew it wasn’t supposed to be suggestive. Or endearing.
Then she peered up at him, eyes blue-green like the sea, but constant, unwavering. “I still believe in love at first sight, but I’ve learned my lesson.”
He desperately wanted to look away from her but he couldn’t.
“Next time I’ll take a closer look.”
Kristoff’s heartbeat quickened until she wrinkled her nose and giggled, finally looking away.
“I’ll know him when I see him! And when I find him I’m going to hold on tight and never let go. True love is worth it.”
Kristoff turned his head again. The huge smile plastered on her face locked him in the moment, even though stared far into the distance.
But then he shook his head and remembered the last time a woman looked at him as closely as Anna had. That had been some time ago, and she hadn’t offered him a passing glance since then. There was no reason to believe Anna was any different.

I went to see Wish a little while back, and it was... fine. I had a good time watching it, but probably wouldn't watch it again on my own. It's visually beautiful, it's funny, Magnifico is a good villain, the story mostly works. But it feels a little flat and hollow. And I wanted to parse out what I think the problem is. In short, I think the problem is Asha. And I think that problem is twofold.
A. Personality and Motivation
I heard a lot of complaints about Disney always doing 'adorkable' princesses now (I will note, of the post-renaissance princesses, there's a pretty even split of adorkable and not- Rapunzel, Anna, Mirabel, and Asha on the one hand; Tiana, Elsa, Moana, Raya on the other). But I don't think that's the problem in itself. The problem is, that adorkableness is Asha's only clearly defined characteristic. Rapunzel, Anna, and Mirabel all have traits beyond that. And that's clearest in terms of what the characters want. Rapunzel wants to see the floating lights and that transitions into wanting the freedom and love that Gothel has denied her. Anna wants to connect with her sister (or really anyone-- Hans, Kristoff, Olaf...) and to protect Arendelle. Mirabel wants to feel useful to and accepted by her family. Asha wants to help everyone else want things. It's entirely focused on what other characters around her want. She wants other people to have a shot at getting their wishes. In theory that means she's selfless and cares about others. And that's all well and good but it creates this void around Asha herself that makes it hard to connect with her emotionally. What does she want for herself? If the King weren't hoarding people's wishes, what would Asha wish for? What would she dream about? What does her happy ending after the King is defeated look like? It's very hard to tell. A character can be selfless and focused on helping others and still have things they want for themselves. Look no further than Asha's "I want" song This Wish. It's so vague.
B. The Relationships
The other half of the problem with Asha is that she doesn't have a central relationship. Rapunzel has a broken relationship with her 'mother' and finds love and trust and partnership through her relationship with Flynn. Tiana is driven by her relationship with her late father, and finds healing in her relationship with Naveen. Moana is in conflict with her father and finds her confidence and independence through working out her friendship/partnership with Maui. Raya can only regain the relationship with her father by working through her trust issues with Namaari and learning from Sisu. Mirabel working through her relationships with her sisters, and interacting with Bruno allows her to confront her relationship with Abuela.
Asha has a lot of relationships, but none of them is really allowed to take a central place in the story. She's got 7 friends but there's not really room or a need for growth in any of those (except Simon, but that's kept more peripheral and really exists more to demonstrate that Rosas really does have a problem that needs to be fixed). She's got a dead father who forms some kind of inspiration for Asha, but it doesn't drive her the way Tiana's father does. She has a mother who matters to the story very little. There could have been key relationships between her and Magnifico and/or Amaya (and I think you can see hints of that) but that's not developed either. Asha's grandfather is important to her in some way, but again that relationship is not allowed to come to center-- he's the closest we have but even if we allow that he's occupying a role similar to that of Raya or Moana's fathers, that's still only half the equation. Asha still wouldn't have someone to interact with and grow alongside in the way that Moana had Maui, and Raya had Namaari and Sisu. The story is missing a deuteragonist.
And I think that contributes to the first point, to Asha feeling flat. She doesn't have anyone to define herself in relation to. She has a bunch of generally positive relationships and so is only defined by a general kindness and altruism.
There's been some concept art bouncing around of a human version of Star, so it seems that an early version of the story HAD its deuteragonist, partner for Asha to run around with and interact with a learn from (and in some sense to receive what she needs on a personal level-- in the way that Rapunzel receives the love she needs from Flynn, or Moana gains confidence in her leadership by having Maui choose to follow her-- which would help Asha recover a personal motivation). But when Star changed from having a human form to being a little blobby thing, he moved from deuteragonist to cute creature sidekick. And the story lost a key component and didn't replace it.
There are other smaller problems too-- some of the songs feel off (and none of them are great), the friends are sometimes annoying, Amaya's characterization doesn't quite work right, some of the easter eggs don't work etc.-- and I do think the thematic core of the movie has issues (but that's another post in itself, and I don't think the issue is what other people have claimed it is). But I think it would all come together reasonably well if Asha herself had come to life a little bit better. And that is a shame because I think her character design is good and I think Ariana DeBose does a good job playing her.

Take a Shot, Take a Chance
Prompt by @ravinewreyn :
"Is that the best that you can do?"
Warning: Alcohol use. Drink responsibly, people!
Note: Look, I know this prompt is OLD, hence why this isn't posted in @written-by-ariddletobesolved, but I feel like finishing it so here we go. I do hope it's decent. Enjoy! ♥️

"Take a shot!"
"I can take three!"
"No way, Anna, that's too many."
"No, it's not! You're just weak, Elsa."
"Yes, Elsa, you're just weak."
Elsa looks around, eyes darting from Kristoff—her sister's boyfriend, to Anna—her sister, before settling on the auburn haired young man who happened to tag along with the group. Hans. The latter was smirking, and Elsa narrowed her eyes in distaste.
The four of them were sharing a round table in the corner of a crowded pub. It was supposed to be a weekly girl's night for the sisters, until Anna saw her boyfriend and one of his housemates there in the pub. Inviting Kristoff also means inviting Hans, there was no other choice which sounded like a torture for Elsa.
"Me, weak?" She scoffs. "Pfft, never!"
To say that Elsa doesn't like Hans is an understatement. She strongly dislikes him for a lot of reasons.
He is a spoiled and snobbish man child, who only cares about himself. He might be 25, but sometimes he acts like a 15 year old.
Hans shrugged. "Says the one who sprained her ankle after a few shots of vodka. It was like a double loss for you, Elsa."
At the reminder, Elsa scowled. She grew even more annoyed when the memory of her getting wasted the last time they went out flashed on her mind. Her blue eyes were on the wooden round table the four of them were sharing, glaring at the two rows of shot glasses containing clear liquor.
"Well, accidents happen. Besides, I already had a glass of Long Island Iced Tea that time before the game even started, so I had a good amount of booze in my system." She looked up, the corner of her mouth curving into a smirk. "Why, do you want a rematch?"
"Do you?"
"See, now you're scared of the potential loss, aren't you?"
Hans shook his head. "No, Elsa, I just don't want you to hurt yourself this time."
"Stop pretending that you care, Hans, it's so out of character."
There was a pause, and Elsa watched as something like hurt reflected on his eyes, only briefly, before he grinned. She frowned, not liking that look on his face, because that would mean Anna was right, that Hans might care about her more then he liked to admit.
"Alright then, whatever the queen says," Hans said, before downing one shot, prompting Elsa to do the same. "One."
"Are we playing by the same rules as before, that whoever drinks the most consecutive drinks in fifteen seconds wins, and the winner gets a week's worth of chocolate bars, yeah?" Anna said, eyeing the two competitors.
"Yes!"
"No!"
The two replied at the same time. Elsa raised an eyebrow. "Huh, why not?"
"I figured we should start slow, instead of fifteen seconds, what about thirty seconds?" He proposed, turning to Anna and Kristoff.
"Well, that can be arranged." Anna replied, flashing her sister a knowing smile, which was returned with a set of narrowed eyes. She then turned to her boyfriend and said, "Right, Kristoff?"
"That's fair." The blond guy nodded. "We have a lightweight in here."
"I am not!" Elsa scolded him.
Hans grinned, before adding, "Oh, and also, I propose the winner gets not only one week's worth of chocolate bars, but also something else." There was a mischievous smile at the end of the sentence, one that was enough to make Elsa roll her eyes.
"I swear if it's a prank-"
But before she could finish, Hans quickly said, "Go out with me." He then added, "It's a request."
The blonde was stunned, keeping her guard up as numerous thoughts ran through her head. Is he being serious? Stealing a glance at her sister, she caught a hint of 'told you so' on her face, and Elsa glared in return. Nope, he is not being serious, just like that time when he was offering her a ride home from the library. He loved to tease her, so there was no way he was being decent and well-intentioned.
Their eyes met, as Elsa observed him closely, amused and intrigued. Something told her she should just take a chance, so she did.
"Fine," she rolled her eyes.
The drinking game started with Kristoff preparing ten shots of vodka in front of each competitor. Hans led with seven shots in thirty minutes while Elsa, who was trying to get used to the burning sensation in her throat, only got to down five shots.
"Well, looks like I'm gonna win." Hans smirked, sliding his hand into his pocket. "Any plans on surrendering and just go out with me?"
"Not a chance. I propose we trade shots for beer, how does that sound?" Elsa raised an eyebrow.
Shots may not be her speciality, but she loves beer. She can probably get an upper hand on the next round.
"As long as we have shots and beer in the last round. Just because you can't take shots doesn't mean you can change the rules."
As if on cue, Kristoff and Anna came from the bar carrying two pints of beer each.
"Did anyone say beer?"
Elsa scowled when she saw her sister's teasing smile. "Ugh, fine, whoever finish these pints of beer first get to win this round. Then we have similar rules like the first round with beer and shots."
"Deal."
On the second round, Elsa didn't slack, finishing two pints like she's drinking water. Nine seconds. That was her record. By the time she put down the glass, the blond was all giggling at the fact that Hans was struggling to finish his second pint. Hans is not a beer guy.
"A tie." Elsa winked, body swaying as she began to feel the effect of alcohol in her system in just under thirty minutes.
"Oh, is that the best that you can do?"
"Nah, that's why we're starting the third round."
"No break, princess?"
"No!" Elsa scoffed, before pointing his finger at him. "And don't call me that."
Hans only chuckled, amused at her antics. She looked like an angry kitten, and he found it cute when she was scowling at him, pouting with a frown.
A pint of beer and three shots of vodka. By now Elsa was sure she had crossed her drinking number. She knew she should have stopped after two rounds, but there's no way she would surrender, to Hans no less. She wouldn't go down without a fight, and so she did. And she lost.
Her head started to pound when she downed the last shot, and Anna handed her a water bottle, helping her to sip from the bottle. It felt refreshing, yet the bitter taste remained on her tongue. Her face flushed, hot with drunkenness and embarrassment, when she way the teasing smile on Hans' face.
"Well, fuck." She muttered under her breath.
"Ouch, language, missy!" He grinned in triumphant. "I guess I'll see you next Saturday?"
"What choice do I have, really?"
"Aww, don't be like that, Elsa. I promise I'll make it memorable for you," he said as he leaned closer to her stool.
His emerald eyes glimmered under the dim light. He was so close, well, too close for her liking. She could smell his musky cologne, strong and expensive, it's the same scent in his car which she recalled from when he drove her home that one time. Her lips curved into a smile as she boldly traced her fingertips on the collar of his shirt, the fabric rough under her skin.
Leaning in, she whispered close to his ear, "Well, then, Hans, I'd like to see you try."
She probably needed to blame the alcohol because suddenly, taking a chance with him no longer sounded like a bad idea.

"mmh baby, so needy" he whispers into her ear "please i need you now, dont wanna wait any long or we might get seen, please" ___ beggs desperation dripping into her voice. Her hands pull and the waist band of his pants grabbing both them and his boxers at the same time pulling them down.

He lifts his baggy shirt up a puts in it between his teeth to make sure it dosent get in the way. He rubs the tip of his penis a couple times up and down her slit before pushing his way in slowly.
They both groan at the feeling as they havent been with eachother in months. She pulls him back in with her legs kissing his neck to drown out some of the noises she is making.

He pulls his face away from her neck and see her eyes closed he takes this as a sign and starts rubbing at her clit, her eyebrows knit together and her pussy clenches around him.
"Kristoffer im so close please" she drones on he can see her eyelashes fluttering and her body moving a bit. He starts to thrust deeper into her hitting her g-spot making a lewd moan come from her.
Arching her back shakily gripping onto his shirt, her pussy cleching faster and faster pulling his dick in as far as it can milking him "ah-ah baby, wait im close" he moans going faster to try and reach up to her "Kristoffer, i cant hold it in ugh god, fuck im c-cumming" She moans letting the pleasure wash over her.
Her pussy cleching down on his brings him close to the edge, pulling out he starts to pump his cock finally making him spill all on her stomach getting a bit on her shirt.
"MANZINI, boy where are you" you both hear a deep over out side and quickly put your clothes back on, just in time because the door opens and the manager walks in to see you both flush faced and nervous.
The manager hums in anger and yells at Kristoffer for being late and running of to do who knows what. You and kristoffer giggle as he stomps away waddling like a penguin.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful photo shots of a fox wandering about in the winter wilderness I had ever seen.
It certainly has those vibes from that scene where Anna, Kristoff and Sven first meet Olaf in that gorgeous frozen willow tree grove.
And that fox certainly seems content resting there for a bit and doesn’t seem to mind since he has a very thick coat and a fluffy tail to keep warm.
It’s proof that even winter can be most beautiful as its sister seasons.

So the REAL reason I don't care for "Frozen" is about the way it goes about romance, primarily because this
Tumblr media
is not the face of a master manipulator scheeming to get to the throne. Her back is turned. He's alone, after having just lived throught the cutest meet cute in animated history. There is no reason for him to pretend; Anna put that look on his face. I'm absolutely stumped on why they left that shot in the final product; it has absolutely no bearing on the rest of his presence in the film, but it DOES tell the audience that he is as besotted with Anna as she is with him which makes the later claims of his "true character" simply insincere. That moment isn't "misleading" the audience, it's lying to our faces.
(particularly when you know that Else was originally intended to be the villain. I can't imagine that that was changed at a point so late that they'd completed animation for other parts of the film, and even if they'd lose nothing in cutting that second of him under the boat, compared to how it breaks the rest of what could have been a truly great story)
Also "Love is an open door" is a better sell for cute couples than any soppy romantic duet preceeding it except that one with Robin Hood and Maid Marian
youtube
imagine a world where these two dorks were to be marketed as an official disney couple.
I wonder if the reason I shipped Anna and Hans so hard wasn't if "Frozen" was always sold as the Anna-and-Elsa show. Any love interests would be a side dish to the main relationship; I knew from the outset that there would be no huge moments of romantic love saving the day, and Anna and Hans' instant jump into absolute fucking idiots in love was cute and it was funny and it was such a refreshing change from what felt like decades worth of couples that either started out bickering and learned to love each other, or had some kind of conflict they had to overcome by the climax of the film.
I wanted cute. I wanted simple. I wanted silly.
By god, I wanted someone who simply loved each other and where this love was just joy and not another story about how romantic love is the force that saves the world or at least a driving element in motivating people to do it.
Kristoff and Anna have that same dynamic that I'd grown tired off years before they hit the screen, with the added insult of existing solely for the sake of the climax being a Shocking Suberversion™.
Hans could've filled the exact part Kristoff does at the climax, but Hans becomes a villain because every film needs a villain, because bad things happen because of Evil, not because of we're all of us imperfect and prone to being stupid, believing our own prejudices, giving into temptation
(I love you, Studio Ghibli. I love you, Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle and Arrietty and all the other films where the antagonists are either petty people with power or misguided people believing they do good, and where they are either forgiven or forgotten by the end, where audience catharsis never comes by their punishment)
My point is, "don't go fall in love with a man you haven't at least had a fight with first" was a lesson since outdated already in 2013 and I did not appreciate that this film became another one in the a long line of stories telling children that the real problems in the world come about because of cackling villains, and not because the people with power are human beings no better than any of us
