Unlock the Power of LEI Code: A Complete Guide to Searching for LEI Codes and Registering for Them
A distinct worldwide identifying number given to legal entities conducting financial transactions is known as the LIE (Legal Entity Identifier) code. LIE standards have grown key for companies all across the world as financial systems place a greater focus on accountability and transparency. Everything you need to know about LEI Code is covered in detail in this article, including how to search for LIE Codes and easily complete LEI Registration.
What is an LEI Code?
The Legal Entity Identifier, or LEI code, is a 20-character alphanumeric number that is used in financial markets to uniquely identify legal companies. It guarantees adherence to regulatory requirements, promotes trust in financial systems, and aids in clear identification.

Structure of an LEI Code
An LEI code consists of:
Prefix (4 characters): Assigned by the issuing organization.
Entity-specific code (12 characters): Uniquely identifies the entity.
Check digits (2 characters): Validates the integrity of the code.
For financial institutions, businesses, and regulators, this structure is essential since it guarantees worldwide uniqueness and uniformity.
Why Do You Need an LEI Code?
LEI codes are mandatory for entities participating in financial transactions such as:
Trading securities or derivatives.
Reporting financial transactions to regulators.
Conducting cross-border transactions.
Enhancing corporate transparency.
For companies to comply with international reporting requirements, such the European Union's MiFID II legislation, governments and regulatory agencies throughout the world demand that they receive a LEI code.
How to Register for an LIE Code
Getting an LIE code is a straightforward process involving a few essential steps. Here’s how to confirm a smooth LEI Registration:
Identify a Local Operating Unit (LOU)
The approved entities in charge of granting and overseeing LIE codes are known as LOUs. GLEIF-accredited LOUs like Bloomberg and GMEI Utility are two examples. Select a LOU according on your tastes or location.
2. Gather Required Information
Before applying, make sure you have the following details ready:
Legal entity name.
Registered address.
Registration number (as per your jurisdiction's registry).
Business activity details.
Proof of identity (e.g., certificate of incorporation).
3. Submit Your Application
Visit the chosen LOU’s website and fill out the application form. Confirm all details are accurate to avoid delays in processing.
4. Pay the Fee
LEI Registration involves a small fee, which varies depending on the LOU. The typical fee ranges from $65 to $200 annually.
5. Await Verification
The LOU will verify your details, cross-check them with official registries, and issue your LEI code. The process typically takes 1–3 business days.
LEI Code Search: How to Look Up an LEI Code
An LEI Code Search is essential for verifying the authenticity of a legal entity. Whether you’re a business partner, regulator, or investor, this process confirms you have accurate and reliable data.
Steps for Conducting an LEI Code Search
Access the Global LEI Database Visit the Global LEI Foundation (GLEIF) website. This platform provides a free and thorough database of all registered LEI codes.
Enter Search Criteria Use the search bar to input:
LEI code.
Entity name.
Country or region.
Registration status (active, expired, etc.).
Analyze Results Review the search results to verify:
Legal entity name and details.
Registration status.
Validity period of the LEI code.
Export Data For bulk searches or detailed analysis, you can export data into various formats like CSV or XML.
Benefits of LEI Code and Registration
1. Enhanced Transparency
LEI codes provide a clear identification system, confirming that all parties involved in financial transactions are traceable.
2. Global Recognition
An LEI code is universally accepted, allowing seamless participation in international markets.
3. Regulatory Compliance
Having an LEI code confirms adherence to global financial reporting standards, avoiding potential fines or legal penalties.
4. Efficient Risk Management
With accurate entity identification, financial institutions can mitigate risks like fraud and personality misrepresentation.
5. Streamlined Data Access
The GLEIF database provides access to real-time, verified data, supporting informed decision-making.
Common Challenges in LEI Registration
While the process is generally straightforward, some challenges can arise:
Incorrect Data Submission Any discrepancy in your application may delay approval or result in rejection.
Renewal Oversight LEI codes require annual renewal to remain active. Failing to renew on time can lead to compliance issues.
Selecting the Right LOU With multiple LOUs available, choosing the best one for your needs can be overwhelming.
Pro Tips for Smooth LEI Code Registration
Double-Check All Details Guarantee your entity's name, address, and other information match official documents.
Choose a Reputable LOU Research the reputation and efficiency of LOUs before deciding where to apply.
Set Renewal Reminders Mark your calendar for annual renewals to avoid lapses in validity.
Use the GLEIF Database Regularly check the status of your LEI code to confirm accuracy and compliance.
Seek Professional Assistance If you're unsure about the process, consult a legal or financial advisor to guide you.
FAQs About LEI Codes
1. How long does it take to get an LEI code?
Typically, it takes 1–3 business days after submitting your application and payment.
2. Is LEI registration mandatory for all businesses?
LEI registration is mandatory for entities involved in financial transactions and reporting, especially in regulated markets.
3. How much does LEI registration cost?
The cost varies by LOU but generally ranges from $65 to $200 per year.
4. What happens if my LEI code expires?
An expired LIE code is considered invalid, potentially leading to compliance issues. Renew your code annually to maintain its active status.
5. Can I transfer my LEI code to another LOU?
Yes, LIE codes can be transferred between LOUs without losing their validity.
6. What is the difference between an LEI code and a company registration number?
While an LEI code identifies entities globally, a company registration number is specific to a particular jurisdiction.
Conclusion
For companies functioning in the linked financial environment of today, obtaining and maintaining a LEI code is essential. Businesses may guarantee compliance, improve transparency, and foster stakeholder confidence by comprehending the procedures for LEI Registration and carrying out a precise LEI Code Search. To fully profit from LEI code management, remain proactive and continually consult the GLEIF database for up-to-date information. Understanding LEI codes is essential for smooth international operations, regardless of your level of experience in the financial sector.

tagged by @bidisasterevankinard 💚 i've been working on this eddietommy fic oneshot the last couple days, so that's what you get today lmao
"Tommy, I can't - I can't talk to Buck about this because -," Tommy could see Eddie physically steel himself, "- because he's part of it."
"He's part of- oh," Tommy figured out what Eddie meant as he was starting to ask. "So you - you have feelings for him?" It's fine, Tommy tells himself. It feels like a punch to the kidneys, but it's fine. Good, even. Yeah, it's good.
"Well, um, no? Or maybe yes? I don't know, Tommy, I don't - why don't I - why can't I understand? What am I feeling? Why is this -"
"Whoa, take a breath," Tommy said, holding Eddie by his biceps as he started to panic. "Here, c'mon, sit down." He pulled Eddie over to the bench and forced Eddie to sit, shoving his water into his trembling hands.
"Thanks, and s-sorry. Again," Eddie apologized, taking a few small sips. "It shouldn't be this difficult, right? I should know if I have feelings for someone. Especially - especially a -"
"A man?" Tommy offered.
Eddie looked up at him through his lashes for a moment before glancing away again and nodding. He huffed a laugh that sounded self-deprecating. "I shouldn't be talking to you about this either."
"Why's that?" Tommy knew why. Some bro-code bullshit about not dating friend's exes, but it's different when you're queer. He just wanted to hear Eddie say it so he could tell him that and reassure him that it's fine.
Because it definitely is fine.
"Uh," Eddie laughed uncomfortably, rubbing his neck again, "it's hard to explain. I should've figured myself out a little more before I even brought it up."
"Eddie," Tommy sat next to him, knocked their knees together and leaned forward to catch his eye, "you can tell me. Whatever it is. I won't be - I don't know - mad or anything."
Eddie looked at him then. Really looked at him, as if he were searching for something. Tommy tried to keep his face relaxed and open, hoping Eddie would understand that he meant what he said. Then Eddie's eyes dipped down for a split second, and Tommy didn't realize what was happening until Eddie's mouth was on his.

(on anon because this song ref is going to date me horribly, but) the more I read your IronStrange ficlets, the more I'm reminded of the 2000s song "Crazy for this Girl" by Evan and Jaron. I'm not sure if this is meant to be a "look at these lyrics and see if they inspire you" prompt or just a compliment overall of how consistent your characterizations are, but thank you for so many amazing glimpses into their many (many, many, many) relationship moments.
Thanks so much! I have a lot of fun writing these two, and I’m glad my take on them rings true. 😀
Those lyrics really do scream IronStrange, don’t they? And really, I could see it going either way. Maybe it’s a bit more Stephen coded, what with the 14 million futures and him falling for Tony first, but my muse is in the contrary place today (still?), so here’s a bit with Tony as the ‘narrator’. Er, inspired by the song, but it seems I did wander off on a bit of a tangent, so not too closely. lol.
-
Tony sits on one of the desks in the library and watches, smiling, as Stephen searches through the volumes for the book he needs. “The analogy that compares ley lines and magical concentrations to rivers and lakes is even more apt that I realized,” he says as he flips through a book. “It turns out that they change position over the years. Usually very slowly, but as with water, it’s also possible for abrupt events—the magical equivalent of floods or earthquakes—to carve new channels. Which made me wonder,” he puts the book back on the shelf and goes looking for another one, “could they be moved artificially? After all, we can redirect watercourses.”
“More or less,” Tony puts in, as much to see Stephen’s reaction as because it’s true. “Some rivers are more amenable to redirection than others.”
Stephen lights up. “An excellent point. I suspect ley lines are similar in that way, too.” His expression goes abruptly thoughtful. “I wonder if the similarities indicate a connection between the water and magic… Where is that map?”
Is this what he’s like when he’s on a research binge, Tony wonders. Almost glowing with energy, passion radiating off every inch of him? It can’t be—his research binges used to drive Pepper and Rhodey nuts. Stephen is just amazing. It almost makes Tony want to learn magic, just so he can dive in there with him.
Stephen makes a triumphant noise and brings the book out to the table next to Tony. There’s already a map spread out there, but now Stephen carefully unfolds a second. He grunts, dissatisfied, when the parchment of the second blocks out the first.
“I could do a holographic overlay, if you want,” Tony suggests.
“Please,” Stephen says, beaming at him.
Tony’s heart leaps. God, but he’s crazy about this man. A quick scan with his glasses and the projector in Tony’s watch flares to life, displaying both maps in an overlay.
“Perfect,” Stephen says absently, already absorbed in studying the correlations between the maps. He doesn’t ask why Tony’s hanging around, playing sounding board and logistical support. At some point, Tony thinks, he’s going to have to come up with an answer other than I was thinking about you, and then I had to see you.
Stephen turns to go find another map.
But not yet.

got a weird question for you, not really about Spanish itself.
I came across a post talking about citizen rights that apply when interacting with the police in the United States (https://www.tumblr.com/silvergrovezelda/761993895199522816/rat-detector-fymo-blogs-fuckingradfems?source=share hopefully the link works). I'm sure the law is different in, say, Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries.
Do you happen to have any knowledge on similar rights that apply when speaking to the police in Mexico?
Cheers & sorry if this question is out of scope!
Yes, most countries have some version of these types of laws. In the US what you're talking about tends to be referred to as "Miranda rights" or things under the 4th Amendment about Search and Seizure laws regarding warrants etc
Spanish-speaking countries (and most countries worldwide) have some similar version to this that makes some searches illegal or disqualifying, or the right to remain silent. It tends to be written about in the penal code or ley de enjuiciamiento criminal or it comes up with detención ilegal "illegal detention" which is holding someone against their will (though that's usually like if you kidnap someone, but I think it's still understood as "unlawful imprisonment" for police too)
Each country varies, and the police force varies, but the laws and the Constitutions of different countries usually protect against this; and many countries in Latin America used the American Constitution and Declaration of Independence as guides when they were gaining independence from Spain
It's definitely out of my area of expertise, but a lot of the rules still apply
There might be corruption and police brutality and illegal searches etc just like everywhere else, but on paper there are protections
It's usually in their penal code or in the Constitution itself

CreateCraft - A Made Up Server inspired by Hermitcraft and Grian Watcher Au's
I have been working on this idea for a few years now. I have never written anything like this before. I am just winging this and hoping someone likes it, to be honest
This world uses different aspects of Minecraft and ideas based on Grian's and Evo Smp Watchers.
I do not have set plot for this series, but this piece is kind of introducing some of lore to my made up Server. I might make a post explaining the different aspects of lore, but keep in mind that it may not happen or this will not stay cannon. I tend to change things a lot.
I would love some friendly, but informational criticism as well; I want to improve my writing and storytelling capabilities. This story won't be a stellar story, but I want to try to put something out there to get some pointers.
Total Words: 4,118
“Well, young children, what story would you like to hear next?” The soft voice of a dark-haired woman asked, a small group of children sitting around her feet as she sat on a stool that resembled a dark oak log. The children around her giggled excitedly, but none seemed to hear her as they talked among themselves. One child, rather quiet, tried to say something, but the other children drowned her out.
“Children,” The woman stated, her deep, forest-green eyes gently scanning the room, “ Children, please quiet down.” The children, one by one, slowly went quiet, and the young girl spoke again.
“Storyteller Lei, could you tell us about the Server War?” She shyly asked. Lei smiled slightly, before getting up. The children around her feet scrambled to move, and Lei walked over to a small, worn bookcase. Lei hummed quietly, thinking about how to approach the topic as she reached up and grabbed a worn book, pulling it from the shelf. A small cloud of dust wisped up from the shelf, and Lei knew she needed to dust the shelves soon,
“The Server War, hmm?” She murmured to herself, flipping through the yellowed, cracked pages in search of the chapter she needed; The faded, black text blurring with the movements. “Well, to understand why it was fought, you need to understand how it began, and the beings behind those very wars,” Lei spoke softly, stopping on the page and running her fingers down the old paper. Her aged hand felt the old, worn texture of the page as she read it, soaking in the information. The children waited quietly, looking up at Lei in awe as they sat on the floor. Lei closed the book, and replaced the book on the shelf, turning to address the silent children in the room.
“Once, a long time ago, the worlds far and wide were inhabited by five distinct races, each living in harmony with each other.” Lei began, crossing the room and sitting back on the log stool. The children crowded around her, a few of the children touching the hem of her dark green dress. Lei smiled softly down at the children; Young, curious eyes looking up at her with rapt attention as she spoke.
“The first race was the race of the Players and is often considered the largest race. Normal humans and human-like beings could manipulate the world around them, to create tools, and items, and gather needed materials to make structures beyond our imagination. They could mine and build, tame and conquer.” Lei leaned forward slightly, her hands making the motions to match the words she said, “These Players discovered Redstone, used Netherite as armor, and fought beings we, to this day, don’t fully understand. Every human or human-like being to exist is descended from this race, their legacy thriving as we use their skills to further our survival.” Lei rested her hands on her aged knees, watching as the children looked at her in wonder, some smiling, some confused, but all were invested in the story.
“Soon, a group of these players discovered the very thing that creates the world.” Lei continued, “And a new race, most often called the Admins, occurred. The Admins are a race that can use the Code, the stuff that makes you and I, to help maintain the worlds that we live in. This allowed Players to travel to different worlds, Admins to create entirely new worlds, and further that communication of various people across thousands of these realms.”
Lei paused, taking a breath as she watched the children surrounding her. A few children were nodding off, their tired expressions causing a faint chuckle to leave her lips.
“Some of these Admins, however, had a change in their code from this marvelous discovery.” Lei continued, “They were gifted with unique abilities, each one unique to them alone. These beings created a new, powerful race of the Gods. These Gods very rarely have a new one join their ranks, for one has to be either born or made into a God. It is said that they guard secrets to the elements of the realms. Lady Death, the Blood God, Madam Storyteller, all normal players and admins that were turned into gods to play a role in our world. They help keep the elements in order, allowing us to live.” Lei smiled as some of the children lit up at the few gods she mentioned. Foren, a young boy of 5, particularly lit up at the mention of the Blood God.
“The emergence of the last two races has stumped many historians for years. No one knows where these two distinct races came from, how old they are, or where they originated from. Some believe they came from ancient times and created the worlds that we live in today. Others believe that these races were Admins that attempted to become gods, but instead were turned into these beings.” Lei paused, taking a breath. She stayed quiet for a moment, thinking about how to describe these beings to the young children.
“The fourth race to emerge is a race simply known as the Watchers. They were mysterious beings, masks or small, purple wings hid the entirety of their faces, markings that covered their skin, and big, purple wings the rest on their back, some only had one pair, and others had more. They wore robes of white or purple and tended to keep to themselves. They watched with invisible eyes; one watcher could view thousands of worlds and know exactly what was happening. They observed, and at one time, protected those different worlds.” Lei's voice faltered for a moment, her small feeling of dread catching her off guard.
“However, these Watchers were not always the kindest. Even though the Gods are well known to be mischievous, cruel, and vengeful, the Watchers could be worse when angered. Their magic was powerful, and they could wipe out entire servers with a flick of their hand. Everyone feared them.” Lei's voice cut out, a painful memory briefly passing through her head. The children looked up at her, concern on some of their faces. Lei swallowed, fighting down the feeling of dread and fear as it grew heavier in her chest.
“ The fifth race,” She continued, moving past the topic of the Watchers, “Was known as the Listeners. This race was elusive, hiding in the shadows or among the players to listen for anything they deemed important. Their ears were long, and it said they could hear the thoughts of anyone close to them. The bodies were thin, but not lanky, and had tails that allowed them to balance on the smallest things. They were the spies, keeping an eye on the well-being of the worlds and relaying the information to the other races.”
Lei noticed, out of the corner of her eye, a small movement from the corner of the room. She frowned slightly, realizing that there was someone, or something, listening in on the story from the shadows.
“Miss Lei?” Foren piped, raising his hand slightly.
“Yes, Foren?”
“Why did the war start? I don’t mind learning about - about the different races but Sonya asked a-a-about the war.” Foren spoke, a faint stutter coming up in his speech. The other children nodded as well, looking up at Lei with faint confusion in their eyes. Lei smiled gently at the children.
“I was getting to that, Foren.” Lei replied, “Some events that happened cannot be explained without explaining those that were involved. You may get confused if you do not know what they are.”
Foren nodded, and Sonya, the girl who had asked the war, wove her way through the crowd of children and sat down next the Lei on the floor, grabbing a small part of her dress as she looked up at Lei.
“The start of the war was unprecedented, but it wasn’t necessarily unexpected. The Watchers, a rather strict race, had experienced a rebellion with a small number of watchers who craved power over all races. This rebellion was promptly named the Hunters, a cruel part of this race that swore to completely control every race and rule the realms. The Listeners, ever silent about their affairs, were often falling victim to the Hunters, as well as any Watcher that opposed them.” Lei's voice faltered again, another memory flashing in her mind. She swallowed again, shaking her head slightly to remove the gruesome images from her head. “ The Admins and the Players stopped their conflicts to bring a neutral balance within the strife of the Watchers. However, this resulted in the discovery of the conversion of a Player to a Watcher, which only further the destruction the Hunters were causing.”
“ The Gods, however, could not stop this from happening. A strong, young, but cruel god had slowly started to build a following to overthrow Lady Death, who at one time ruled the gods. And unfortunately, he did. ” Lei suddenly paused, her eyebrows furrowing as the rest of the story faded from her mind suddenly. Lei got up, confusion mixing with the growing feeling of dread. She stood up, the children moving out of Lei’s way as she returned to the shelf, grabbing the worn book and flipping back to the page, her eyebrows furrowing as she read the page quickly.
“Why you stop?” A young girl asked, watching Lei read the old, worn pages again.
Lei smiled as she turned the page and found what she was looking for, “My memory of this event is hazy. I have always struggled with this story, too many events in a few years of war. Keeping track is…difficult.” She replied, her voice growing quiet as she closed the book, turning gently to address the children.
“B-but Storyteller Lei, you never forget stories!” Another child cried out, causing Lei to chuckle.
“Memory is a fickle thing, and not perfect. Even I struggle to remember things from time to time,” She simply replied, slowly returning to the log, the children moving as she passed. She sat down gently, the old book sitting in her lap.
“The new ruler of the gods began to abuse his power and turned many players into gods as a way to control them. One example of this is the story of the Storyteller.” Lei went quiet as the children started to whisper among themselves, some asking questions about who the Storyteller was, others wanting to know the tale. Lei hushed the children, bringing their attention back to her.
“The start of the war,” Lei started again, “began during a meeting with the leaders of each race. The meeting was designed to try a fix the growing issues in their race and between each other. Two leaders of each race showed up to the meeting. Naril and Madril, twins of the first Admins, represented the Admin race. Lord Matthew and Lady Athren represented the Player race. Watchers Azalia and Mondial represented their kind and Listeners Morrowin and Leia’nan arrived with whispers from the Void. The ones that represent God were Vamine and Lady Death herself.”
“The meeting was going well until the Watcher that led the Hunters, Xian, killed the Azalia and Mondial, sending the rest into panic as they slaughtered as many of the leaders as they could. The Admin leaders, Narail and Madril, were killed in their attempt to stop the rouge watcher, and Athren lost their life when trying to escape. The leader of the Gods, Lady Death, tried to stop the rouge watcher but had failed, Vamine protected Lady Death as they escaped with Lord Matthew. The Listener Morrowin managed to tear one of Xian’s wings before being
extremely injured, Leia’nan grabbing Morrowin in time to get two of them out”. Lei grew silent, the atmosphere around her growing heavy with the children’s horrified silence.
Lei swallowed, a long-buried memory surging in her mind, catching her off guard. Her aged hands curled around the spine of the book, the memory playing out in clear detail.
“The actions of this watcher,” A new voice began, turning the attention to the newcomer, “Caused a long, bloody war that resulted in the Hunters taking complete control of the Watchers. The Listeners were forced to go into hiding in the shadows, moving closer the the Void to avoid detection. The gods experienced the rise of a tyrant, and the Admins and Players allied themselves to find a way to defeat the Hunters.”
The children got up, rushing to the newcomer and tugging her dark purple robes, all shouting in excitement. One child jumped up and accidentally tugged at the newcomer's long, auburn hair, resulting in a pained hiss coming out of her mouth as she gently pried her hair out of the children's hand.
“Headmistress Ranwin.” Lei greeted with a smile, a relieved feeling spreading through her body, before getting up and ushering some of the children off of Ranwin.
“Headmistress, you know about the Server War too?” Foren asked, staring up at Ranwin with wide, curious eyes.
Ranwin nodded, a faint smile graced her lips. “Of course. The Server War is something we all learn about at some point in our lives. Though I am curious,” Ranwin looked up at Lei, who had moved back to the bookshelf, gently replacing the old, worn book on the shelf. ”Why were you talking about this topic to the children?”
Sonya raised her hand shyly, her eyes downcasted towards the soft green carpet.
“Yes, Sonya?” Ranwin asked gently, crouching down to be level with the children, her deep purple robes fanning out with the motion.
“I asked if she could… tell us about the Server War…” Sonya quietly stated.
Ranwin sighed, letting out a soft chuckle. Lei smiled gently at the scene, quietly moving over to the group gathered around Ranwin.
Ranwin smiled slightly, her hands resting on her knees. “I came to let you know that there a cookies waiting for you in the cafeteria.”
The children rushed out of the room immediately, giggling and shouting as they went down the hall. The sound of pattering feet filled the hall but receded as the children went down the hallway. Ranwin stood back up, a soft smile on her face as she watched the children leave.
Lei went to follow the children but was stopped by Ranwin when her hand gently grabbed Lei’s forearm, her touch gentle but tentative.
“I need to speak with you,” Ranwin stated, before moving past Lei and walking into the
room. Lei sighed, moving to close the door. Lei’s hand gently gripped the old wood, closing the door with a soft thud. Thoughts swirled in her head, her thoughts drifting to what Ranwin would say as made her way to a dark-oak desk by a window, her footfalls making soft thuds.
“Something bothering you, my Friend?’ Lei asked gently, watching as Ranwin sat down across from her. Lei noticed the worry swirling in Ranwin's emerald green eyes. And Lei couldn’t help but think that something was wrong.
“I have heard from the Committee, Lei,” Ranwin stated softly, and Lei watched as Ranwin’s eyes moved down, staring at the top of the desk.
Lei frowned, worry present on her face as her lips pulled into a slight frown. “The Committee has spoken? What did they say?” Lei asked softly.
Ranwin looked up at Lei, “They are proceeding to remove me as Headmistress due to the evidence from Mrs. Sanith and Ms. Litli.” Ranwin replied.
Lei hissed, anger presenting itself on her face. “You can’t be serious.” Lei spoke, anger lacing her tone, “That evidence was declared falsified and tampered with in the last trial.”
“They looked back at the evidence after Judge Lolen was replaced by Judge Forenli. Judge Forenli is siding with Mrs. Sanith and Ms. Litli.” Ranwin responded, her voice taking a professional edge.
“Judge Forenli? That is who they replaced Judge Lolen with despite knowing that he would side with Mrs. Sanith and Ms. Litli?” Lei questioned, her lips turning into a thin line with each word that left her mouth.
“Unfortunately so,” Ranwin replied.
The room fell into a tense quiet. Lei's thoughts ran through her head, panic and worry mixing as she thought through the possibilities of what could happen to Ranwin now that the motion was set into place.
“Who is replacing you?” Lei asked quietly, a twinge of fear seeping into her voice.
“Lady Histome,” Ranwin replies dryly.
Lei's eyes narrowed as disbelief flashed across her face. “Lady Tiana Histome?” Lei exclaimed, “The same person that nearly got half of the school killed?”
Ranwin nodded in response, her face grim. Lei stood up, slamming her hands on her desk in sheer anger. Her breathing was coming out in short heaves, as her hands curled on top of the desk. Ranwin had leaned away the best she could in the chair, her eyes blown wide.
“Tell me your lying. Please.” Lei quietly stated.
Ranwin shook her head, unable to form any words. Lei let out a strained breath at her response, her anger settling in her chest as stood there, her hand balled into fists on top of her desk.
“Lei, there is nothing I can do,” Ranwin said gently, tentatively. “I will leave as soon as Hitome is in charge.”
“And where will you go? You know damn well that the Watchers and the Gods are after you.” Lei snapped, standing tall and crossing her arms as she spoke. Ranwin went to speak, only to hesitate, her eyes drifting down onto the top of the dark oak desk.
“Ranwin, where are you going?” Lei asked, dread building in her chest
“I was invited, a few months ago, to a server called ‘CreateCraft’ by its admin,” Ranwin answered. “Mele had stated that I was welcome to join anytime.”
“Create Craft? Lead by the Ex-Watcher Mele?” Lei exclaimed, her eyes widening in shock. “Ranwin, you can’t be serious.”
“I am,” Ranwin responded, “Mele has created this server as a safe haven for those affected by that… twisted group of Watchers. If she can hid, surely -”
Lei cut her off, her voice filled with concern and contempt. “No. You can’t, Ranwin. You are being hunted down by several of the gods and the damn watchers. Even if Mele is not under the control of the Watchers currently, it is only a matter of time before she succumbs to their influence.” Lei stated, “ That puts you, and everyone else on that server, in absolute danger.”
Ranwin frowned, a flicker of hesitance appearing in her eyes. “Lei, I understand your concerns,” Ranwin started softly, “However, I cannot remain here if I am evicted. Yes, if Mele returns the way of the Watchers, then everyone on the server is screwed. However, CreateCraft may be the only place that can hide me from the others.”
Lei eyes bore into Ranwin, her eyes filled with simmering anger at Ranwin words. “You can’t be serious, Ran.” She comments, her arms crossing in front of her. “I am sure that we can find you a place here, it is to risky for you to travel that far. I bet I could -”
“No, Lei’nan.” Ranwin replied, her voice firm as her green eyes looked at Lei’s dark green eyes. “I need to leave this place. As much as it has protected me, the wards are weakening. It will not be safe here for much longer.”
“Ran…” Lei sighed in exasperation, her voice laced with concern.
“Lei. I know you are concerned.” Ran stated gently, “However, you and I know that I can evade the Hunters and the Watchers.”
“It is not just that, Ran. It is your magic that has me concerned.” Lei stated, the weight that was building in chest releasing as she finally stated what was bugging he.. “Your magic is strong enough that you even touch a Thread, it will alert them of your presence.” Worry seeped into Lei’s tone, her body stiffening as she catches another moment in the corner of her eye.
“On top of that, you know the Listeners are everywhere.” Lei continued, watching as Ran stiffened as well, though she knew that it was not because Ran saw the movement.
“In truth, I would rather deal with the Listeners then the Gods or Watchers.” Ran stated, her tone boarding harsh in her reply.
“Still, The Listeners could be on their side, Ran. Going beyond the wards is a huge risk. I am sure we can find a to stren-” Lei was caught off with Ran suddenly standing from her seat, her tall frame towering over Lei, her bright green eyes glaring down at her.
The room settled into a tense quiet, the only sound was the soft tick of the clock above the door. Lei stared at Ran, her lips in a thin line. Concern and worry bubbled in her stomach, many unreadable thoughts filling Lei’s head as she watched Ran turn from her and quickly left the room.
The door remained open, the old blue walls of the hallway present as the door swayed with a invisible wind. Lei slumped back into her chair, a sigh of frustration leaving her throat as she hand rubbed her forehead. Lei was struggling to comprehend what had just happened, the idea of Ran leaving the server concerning her.
Lei stood to go close the door when a thin, black tail shut it for her, a figure coming out of the shadow. The figure towered over her, his black hair poofy, his bangs just barely above his blue eyes. His elongated ears twitch, picking up sounds that Lei’s own ears can’t pick up. His pale skin stood out from the dark blue, leather jacket he wore, a black shirt peeking out of the bottom.
Her black jeans seemed to blend in with the shadows as his thin tail swished behind him, her bare feet standing on the plush carpet.
“Lei’nan.” The listener greeted softly, his eyes reflecting worry.
“Morrowin.” Lei replied stiffly, her eyes narrowing. “Why are you here?”
“I bring warning from the Leader.” Morrowin stated, his ears twitching with worry. Lei let out an exasperated sigh, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
“Morrowin, tell your leader that Ranwin has made up her mind.” Lei stated coldly, turning her back and returning to her dark oak desk, her hands placed on the top on it as she muttered under her breath.
Lei’s anger was still present, the feeling settling in her veins. Her arms and hands were trembling, the cool feeling of the desk not helping in the slightest to calm her down. Lei did not want to deal with Morrowin, not after the conversation she had with Ranwin.
“It is not that, Lei’nan. We both know that she would leave. It is more about her choice in leaving.” Morrowin spoke softly, his voice drifting on a invisible breeze. “The Void spoke to the leader, warning that Ranwin’s decision will cause a series of events that cannot be changed.”
Lei’nan’s blood went cold, her fingers gripping the edge of her desk. “What do you mean.” She stated harshly, her head turning to the side.
Lei could hear Morrowin swallow. “Ranwin’s decision will reawaken her powers, Lei’nan. The hunters and Watchers will tear apart server after server to find her and bring her back to Him.” Morrowin said softly, worry growing in his tone.
Lei let out a growl, whirling around to stare up at Morrowin. Anger flooded her body, her teeth barred at the Listener before her. “You speak of the Void that wants to watch the world burn, Morrowin. Your leader can be informed that whatever the Void says should not always be believed.”
“The Void does not lie, Lei’nan. You know that better then anyone.” Morrowin replied coldly. His eyes narrowed at Lei as he spoke, his tail stilling in its movements.
Lei stared at Morrowin coldly. “It does lie, Morrowin. I know it does.” Lei replied coldly, a faint growl lacing her voice.
Morrowin simply stared down at her, before slinking into the shadows, vanishing from sight.
Lei simply stood in the in middle of the room, glaring at the spot the listener was standing. Thousands of thoughts filled her head, a feeling of dread settling in her chest as she took a deep breath.
Lei though about what Morrowin had stated, her hand pressing against her chest as his words tumbled through her mind. If Ranwin powers do awaken with her departure, and if the Void is speaking the truth, then the Servers across the entirety of the universe is at risk.
The worst was is the Lei could not, can not, stop it from happening.

mental illness coding in tdt (ronan lynch):
ronan lynch has never felt understood by the world. he is told to bury his problems, bury the things he creates because they do not fit within the confines of the outside world. he spends his teenage years secretly dreaming, becoming less and less sure of his own identity as a dreamer in a world that doesn’t acknowledge the existence of dreamers. all of the dreamers ronan meets as he is growing up end up dead because of their dreaming. this is a fact that sticks with ronan, creating a fear in him that his own dreaming will kill him and nobody will care. because of this fear he searches for other people who are like him, who don’t fit like he doesn’t fit. his search for community and understanding deepens as his friends begin to start their lives (going to college, being independent). he is stuck in the same place, the same cycle, because of his dreaming. tied to the ley line, unable to live without it. he begins to think that his sense of purpose must come from finding others who are like him. enter bryde who embodies everything ronan has wished for. bryde has not only reached adulthood but is using his dreaming for good (or so it seems to ronan). meeting bryde leads ronan to meet other dreamers. it enables him to the see the complexities of dreaming and the different lives dreamers can live. in bryde, ronan sees a future and a clear path to that future which is incredibly important to ronan because his biggest fear is loosing his sense of reality completely, loosing his sense of reality to such an extreme that he is out of control; ruled by dreaming, unable to be awake or aware of wakefulness. ronan pushes those he loves away not because of pettiness but because he doesn’t trust himself. he is scared of what he is, and more importantly he has been taught to be scared of what he is. his journey throughout tdt is about self-discovery, about unlearning the myth that he has to fit within the confines of our world to truly exist

What if the portal that Albedo used was the game software itself?? Albedo searching for ways to get reader in the murals of Khaenri'ah. The writings there were difficult to understand, two dots on top of each other? Strange half-bent shapes? Strange scripts that had if/then in them??? The more he read, the more he found out that.... his god DID create the world and lead Khaenri'ah as their first ever and most beloved settlement. However, he found out that his god was banished from Teyvat thousands of years ago, and as he tried to look into it more, the part where the banishment is explained was missing. Even in his frustrations for the unsolved mystery of why his beloved god was banished, he still continued to translate and solve the unfamiliar scripts. As his progress went on, he found out that Khaenri'ah WANTED their god back and has developed the scripts and technology to... try and contact the world their god was in. Celestia found out what Khaenri'ah was trying to do and so the CATACLYSM happened, Khaenri'ah was destroyed, people's intelligence reduced with the horrible aftereffect of deforming as what he knew to be the hilichurls of the present day. Those who had visions at the time were also deformed but kept their intelligence and ability to wield the elements and make elemental shields with the help of ley line branches.
Hold on I'll make a part 2 and send it here
(sana masarap tulog mo, mare)
it is surely possible that albedo had used khaenri'ah texts as basis, but it's more like he dug out the codes that the past people of khaenri'ah were able to dig up from slowly breaching into the space between your two worlds. much of the text is incomplete, but with albedo's intelligence, it was only time until he would be able to complete the missing parts.
however, the answers come to him in something akin to a fever dream. just before he could drift off from exhaustion, an idea pops in his head. in his sleepy haze, he jumps back to his desk. he scrawls something unintelligible on a piece of parchment with ink.
he wakes up hunched over his desk with the paper beside him, and the moment his eyes open, he's off to work immediately.

Ok! So I've received various questions both online and in real life about the representation in the Shadow and Bone show and Grishaverse books wether it's of sexualities, ethnicities, neurodivergency etc. So I thought I'd make a master post of all the representation in the Grishaverse. The ones THAT ARE present in the SHOW I will specify in case you are only planning on watching the show and not reading the books.
Now, the events of this story happen in an imaginary world yet the countries are heavily influenced by real countries and so are their people and appearances. Also I am in no way an expert on the Grishaverse or every reference in the books/show so if I say something that is inaccurate please tell me!
TW: Trauma, rape, ptsd, slavery,
SIX OF CROWS CHARACTERS
Kaz Brekker: Disabled and needs to walk with a cane, the author herself needs one and his disability is based on her own. He also has severe trauma, ptsd and touch aversion. His disability is showcased in both the show and books, his trauma however has not yet been addressed in the show but will. He's played by Freddy Carter
Inej Ghafa: Inej is Suli, with deep brown skin and dark hair. Based on her descriptions Inej could be coded as someone from the Indian subcontinent. Suli people also seem to be inspired by Romani people. She was forced into sex work at 14 and so like Kaz has touch aversion but not as severe as Kaz's. In the show she is played by Amita Suman
Nina Zenik: Nina Zenik is bisexual and plus size, we see her have relationships with both men and women throughout the grishaverse books. Her bisexuality hasn't yet been stated in the show but it most probably will in the future. Wether she is portrayed as plus size or not has been up for debate so go ahead and search up the actress yourself and any information you need. She's played by Danielle Galligan
Jesper Fahey: Jesper is also bisexual and has dark brown skin, he's from Novyi Zem ac country inspired by Australia so he could be read as aboriginal, he has a gambling addiction and coded ADHD since it doesn't exist in the world, but it's obvious. His sexuality is not specifically stated in the show (it is in the books) but we see him flirt with men. This caused some show only watchers to think he's gay, HE'S NOT. He's bisexual, thank you! His ADHD has also not been discussed yet in the show. He is played by Kit Young
Wylan Van Eck: He is a gay disaster and has severe dyslexia causing him to not be able to read at all. He hasn't been introduced in the show yet but will in season 2.
Matthias Helvar: He's the token straight but that doesn't make him any less awesome! (it actually makes for an accurate queer friend group where there's always the token straight) He goes through one of the biggest character developments and is the most religious of the group followed by Inej. He's played by Calahan Skogman
SHADOW AND BONE CHARACTERS:
Alina Starkov: Alina is half Ravkan half shu and can be read as East Asian as Shu Han is inspired by it. She is played by Jessie Mei Lei who is also mixed race (half Chinese to be exact) they are also queer and uses she/they pronouns. Not a lot of people now this so please when discussing the actors of the show use her correct pronouns.
Mal: biracial character, he is played by Archie Renaux
Zoya Nazyalensky: she's half suli. And the next thing is not canon but I'm correct so don't try to fight me she's bisexual. She's played by Sujaya Dasgupta.
The Darkling: he's played by Ben Barnes. That's all the information you really need.
Genya Safin: as far as I'm concerned she's a white straight cis character. Her past of being raped and abused is discussed in both be books and the show (more heavily in the books).
Feydor: his sexuality is not specified but he likes men. He's married to Ivan. He's a minor character but he brings moments of sunshine to the show. 😊
Ivan: his sexuality is not specified but he likes men. He's married to Feydor. He's a minor character and is pretty grumpy and serious. Making for a cute couple dynamic with Feydor.
Dima: stable boy that Jesper hooks up with, his sexuality is not specified.
Nadia: black lesbian character played by Gabrielle Brooks. Is in a relationship with a woman in the books (starting in the second book of the trilogy seige and storm ) this relationship hasn't yet appeared in the show since the character she's in a relationship with hasn't yet appeared. However her being a lesbian is stated. Also her being black is specific only to the show as in the books she's described as white.
Tamar: as far as I remember her sexuality is not specified but she likes women and is in a relationship with Nadia. She has not yet appeared in the show since she isn't introduced until the second book of the trilogy. She's also shu as well as her twin brother Tolya
If I forgot anything or got any of them wrong feel free to add or tell me.

Follow welcomedhappiness Farewell online privacy
Follow tikalgirl What happened?
xdvisyrx Trump happened.
Follow pizzaalle just get a VPN?
Follow earth-ruins You can’t just tell people to ‘get a VPN (Virtual Private Network)’. Buying a VPN is like buying a house. It’s very very important. Having no VPN or having a ‘wrong’ one can seriously damage your life. Especially for Americans because their privacy laws are garbage. I am going to try explain why you should get a VPN but bare with me, I am from Germany and my English is far from perfect. Let’s start with a simple test. Click this link here: https://whatismyipaddress.com/ It will tell your IP adres, your ISP (internet service provider), and your location. The location might not be very accurate, but then again, it’s just a simple website. Imagine what the government can do! So basically, everyone can find out where you live. But there is more danger. Your ISP. Your ISP logs your every move online and they are required to keep it in case the government wants access to it (or if a 3rd party wants to buy your data (yikes). They have everything. What websites you visit. How long you stay on a website. What you download. Your search terms. European laws are more subtle on this but if you are from the US you are #@*#&, especially because Trump doesn’t support the open internet. It’s scary but maybe in the future you can’t get a job because the recruiter knows your searched on ‘how to deal with depression’ or anythings else that’s supposed to be private because it’s your f*cking right. Or you get a $100k fine because you pirated a movie 15 years ago. You need a VPN. You’re dumb for not using one. but what does a VPN do? A VPN encrypts all your data so if it were be intercepted no one can ‘crack the code’ and damage your privacy. Usually being online goes like this (simplified): Your computer —-> ISP (—–> keeps data —–> sells it) But with a VPN it goes like: Your computer —–> VPN (encrypts data)—–> ISP (ISP can’t see shit) Furthermore, a VPN hides your IP address and location by giving you another IP address located in Spain for example (you can often choose from a list and change as many times as you want). Now that you know why you should get a VPN and what is does it is important to educate yourself because people often choose the wrong VPN. VPN providers are also businesses and have to obey the law. If you choose a VPN provider located in the US then you are throwing your money away because the laws in the US shits on your privacy. If the US gov wants the provider to give all their logs they have to obey. The ISP still can’t see what you are doing online and sell your data but the US gov can interfere with your VPN provider so NEVER CHOOSE A PROVIDER LOCATED IN THE US. I just wanted to make that very clear so my followers don’t buy false security. There is still more danger! Who says your VPN provider isn’t selling your data? You need to check their logging policy. Do they keep logs? If yes, what for? For how long do they keep them? Tip: Choose a provider who doesn’t keep logs More about law The US is part of the Five Eyes program (the worst): The Five Eyes, often abbreviated as FVEY, is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. These countries are bound by the multilateral UKUSA Agreement, a treaty for joint cooperation in signals intelligence (source) There is also a Nine Eyes (bit better) and Fourteen Eyes Program (better). You don’t want a VPN provider who is located in one the Five Eyes countries. If you had to choose go for a provider located in a country that’s part of the Fourteen Eyes Program or even better, go for a country that isn’t part of any program! I know this is a shitty explanation and please pardon my english but now it’s time to do your own research. Take your privacy seriously. Maybe WWIII breaks out and you get killed for liking the ‘wrong’ FB-page. Go to this website: https://thatoneprivacysite.net/simple-vpn-comparison-chart/ Make sure that your future VPN provider both has green boxes for Privacy Jurisdiction and Privacy Logging. I recommend ovpn.se and trust.zone. ovpn is located in Sweden so they are part
of the 14 Eyes Program and they keep minimal logs. Their business ethics, however, are alright. Trustzone is located in the Seychelles. No country can interfere and their privacy jurisdiction is the best you can get. The US want your data but needs to get it from Trustzone? The Seychelles will simply give them the finger and wave them goodbye. However, this makes this provider very appealing for people who torrent and criminals because they keep no logs (and that is how it shoud be) Also, there are almost no marketing efforts so this provider is one the cheapest) Also, often providers such as ExpressVPN are being called ‘The Best’ on websites about VPNs but know that this is just marketing which also makes those provider more expensive (and they too shit on your privacy) This must be the worst article you have ever read but please, please take your privacy very seriously. EDIT: I got many people asking me which provider I use. For those who want to know, I use Trust Zone. They offer a free 3-day trial with no strings attached. But still do your own research!
writing-prompt-s I am also with Trustzone but I think you forgot to explain one of it’s most important features. It protects you when you are using someone else’s Wi-Fi. If you are at Starbucks and you use their Wi-Fi your privacy is at risk. Anyone with ill intentions could steal your information. Especially if you are using an unsecured Wi-Fi hotspot. With a VPN your data gets encrypted so no one can steal it.
Follow rabbittiddy Wait, what’s going, on? Did trump destroy internet privacy with a bill or something? Where’s the news? Oh wait, why am I getting visions of Alex Jones and selling water purifiers?
Follow thecrystalfems He hasn’t yet but he says he wants to. And if he is serious about it it would be really easy to do. Since all our data is already recorded, as the person above explained.
Follow coltrer Trump wants more surveillance of Muslim Americans. This in a country where internet privacy is already close to non-existent. Trust.Zone has a free trial. Use it. btw this post only has 11k notes? That’s quite disappointing for something this important. Don’t reblog this post to save a life. Reblog this to protect an entire family!
Follow imthedoctor12 @earth-ruins @writing-prompt-s Should I get trustzone for my mobile device?
writing-prompt-s If you use public Wi-Fi, then yes. Which VPN you use is up to you, amigo. Take @earth-ruinsadvice. Do your own research first.
writing-prompt-s @elvesfromthedeep just brought the current situation in the US to my attention (March 30, 2017). SourcesAnger as US internet privacy law scrapped Congress just voted to let internet providers sell your browsing history To all my friends in the US, please read this entire post. Making everyone aware of VPNs is going to be my mission. Your privacy matters. Please reblog this post.
Follow greeneyespurpleheart Don’t tell me you just wanted to scroll past this. Stop looking at pictures of cats for a moment, okay? Don’t you realize how important this is? This is dangerous! ‘America, the best FREE country in the world’ my ass. With this new law your ISP can sell your Internet history which could include passwords, usernames, religion, credit card numbers, race and much more to the highest bidder. So here is what I want you to do. You are going to read the whole thing and before you think ’this is so important. Let me reblog this real quick and go back to admiring cats again-’ NO! Don’t reblog this. Take action first. Then reblog. Sign up for a free trial! Trust.Zone offers one (here). Yes. It might be difficult to set up a VPN for some people. But is that going to stop you from protecting yourself and your family? 30 minutes. 30 minutes is all that it takes. 5 if you know how to install software. The problem with some of you is that you see ‘difficult’ as something negative. I want you to see difficult differently. I need you to push through this stuff. You are going to protect yourself. There is nothing negative about that. VPNs are fun and costsaving too! A VPN bypasses geographical restrictions so you can access websites you normally can’t or you could start Netflix’s one month free trial over and over again- forever. And it’s legal! (unless you use it to buy weapons etc.,) Don’t tell yourself that you are too tired and that you will do this tomorrow. Because that isn’t going to happen and you know it. You have to do this right now. You only have to click on it. Don’t let this/shit/life just happen to you. Take yourself seriously. Get a VPN. Privacy is not a privilege, it’s a fundamental human right
joyfuldefender Ok sorry that it’s so freaking long and also sorry for the language, but this is extremely important. Please reblog!
Follow li-ionsandtigersandbears Reblogging again bc this is important
Follow mermaidz4ever We have a VPN you should get one too
killmongersbaby Please read.
Follow bae-in-maine Can you get them for your phones?
Follow kika-lei ^ you can. & when you have a subscription you can use it on your phone and computer. no need for separate subs or purchases. it is absolutely so important for safety. but one of my fave things to do with my vpn is access non-US netflix. I mean other places have all the new good place eps, all the ‘classic’ bggo eps…

WIP Intro: Midway Through Summer’s Bullshit

Genre: Adult literary fiction // Status: Drafting // Themes: relationships, coming out, accepting yourself, freedom // Pinterest // Playlist // WIP page
Midway Through Summer’s Bullshit is a work I’ve needed to write for a long time. I’ve been putting it off because I’ve been a little apprehensive and unsure about it, but I feel like now is the best time to write for it, especially since it’s the springtime and this book has some big spring/summer energy.
Also, this book is full of LGBT women, because why not? Shakespeare, but full of women? Amazing. Fantastic. A+. My gay ass is in love.
Character intros are coming soon!
What’s this about?
Puck is a programmer for Athens' Arbitrator and a hedonist. One night, in a drunken attempt to impress his boss/lover Oberon, he matches together a group of unfortunate women who keep bugging him about the FAQ.
Now that these women are tangled up in the situation, Puck seeks the help of Tiara, his lover and Oberon's wife. As they work together to fix the situation, they realize that their relationship with Oberon might not be the best.
(This is, just to cover mon derrière, a very loose description of a plot that has not yet been written, and therefore might be up for change anytime soon.)
Who are these people?
Puck (Chaotic Good, ENFP, Hufflepuff, Pisces) is a programmer and hedonist who's trying to find love amongst his search for pleasure.
Lei Wen (Lawful Neutral, INFJ, Slytherin, Aquarius) is an enterprising woman who wants to escape her controlling family in order to live her life the way she wants to.
Ellen Lund (True Neutral, INFP, Hufflepuff, Cancer)is a sad woman who has just come out of a bad relationship and wants to make a new name for herself.
Sandra Kilduff (Neutral Good, ISFP, Gryffindor, Leo) is a woman who hasn't been accepted by her family, but is determined to not allow that to hinder her progress.
Demetra Outerridge (Chaotic Neutral, ESTP, Gryffindor, Sagittarius) is a bored woman who thinks the world has nothing to offer her in terms of excitement.
Oberon Ibarra (Lawful Neutral, ENTP, Slytherin, Capricorn) is a businessman who runs and owns Athens' Arbitrator and is quietly in a polyamorous relationship with Puck and Tiara.
Tiara Ibarra (Chaotic Good, ISFJ, Slytherin, Virgo) is a woman who loves living the expensive life, though she has a kind, golden heart.
Moth, Mustard, Sweetpea, & Webby (“Coding Fairies”) are Puck’s fellow programmers for Athens’ Arbitrator.
The Theatre Kids are a group of drama kids who get tangled up in the mess.
What’s the soundtrack?
This book is full of jams! I actually have had this playlist downloaded for a solid one or two months, just because I love it so much.
The songs I’ve been bopping to most recently have been:
I O U - You Me At Six
Take a Slice - Glass Animals
Smokey Eyes - Lincoln
Mr Loverman - Ricky Montgomery
Girls Like Girls - Hayley Kiyoko
Handmade Heaven - MARINA
Who’s interested?
@aelenko
(You can always ask to be added to/removed from the taglist!)
#wip intro#wip: midway through summer's bullshit#midway through summer's bullshit#writeblr#amwriting#i'm so excited to write for this one!

My pal I am always taking prompts (especially for my boy Noah lol). Thanks for the prompt, I hope you enjoy it, even tho its pretty short!
ao3 version https://archiveofourown.org/works/21147761
There were few things in life Noah loved more than than that moment during a swim meet where he was up on the board, about to take off at the sound of the shot. That moment where there was nothing but the pool in front of him, light reflected on the still surface like a thousand points of glitter. The feeling of his swim cap on his head, goggles tight around his face. His breathing the only sound echoing in his head. The knowing that he was about to break that still, glittering surface with his strokes, the water gliding over him, his arms and legs pushing against the resistance of the water.
One of the things he loved more, was the little stuttering breaths he got while swimming. Short and sweet and each one feeling like a victory. It was intoxicating. It reminded him, every single time, of how fucking awesome being alive was.
Noah loved skating, too. Loved the all the little bastard heathens with their music blaring at the skate park, the smell of skunk (of kush, really) strong even in the outside air. Loved the feeling of finally managing to grind on the rails, the adrenaline that came with dropping into the bowl. There was a rush to it, even when he crashed. Especially when he crashed, sometimes.
The feeling if falling and falling, scraping his knees and elbows (because padding was for pussies, apparently, and everyone agreed that only Tony Hawk could get away with it. Because Tony was special, or some shit.) and taking those falls knowing it meant that, maybe, he was getting better. Because the falls were becoming less frequent. And the tricks were being landed more often.
He loved exploring the woods and dusty books in libraries and poorly coded and moderated internet forums in search of Barrington Whelk's little mysterious mumbo jumbo ley lines. The quiet of the woods, the light filtering through the overhanging canopy of branches and leaves.
He loved the look of consternation on Whelk's face when he screwed up a translation, when he looked derisively at the librarians for telling them to 'shush'. Whelk was a king at Aglionby, and Noah found him a riot, how pretentious and boyish and insouciant he was.
Noah loved being alive, with all its slings and arrows and seas of trouble. Loved the warmth of the sun and the cold of snow and the crunch of leaves under his feet. He loved breathing, air filling his lungs and exhaling with force. The way the light of the moon cane in through his dorm window and shone on the wall opposite his bed and casting strange figures about the room. Loved the thrill that came with pushing his red Mustang faster and faster and faster through the back country roads of this hick town he had been sent to.
Noah fucking loved being alive.
